Alexandra Burke loses record deal

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke has been dropped by her record label for the third time.
The ‘Bad Boys’ hitmaker had a one-album deal with Decca, but they would have extended the contract if her LP ‘The Truth Is’ – which reached number 16 when it was released last year – had proven to be more popular.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Alexandra signed to Decca on a one-album deal and they released her collection last year. If it had been a massive success, their relationship obviously would have continued but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
“The relationship has now come to an end after Decca decided not to proceed, so she is no longer signed.”
The 30-year-old singer – who is currently touring with musical ‘The Bodyguard’ – is now planning to focus on her stage career rather than making another bid for chart success.
The insider added: “She is just focusing on musical theatre rather than reviving her career as a solo artist.”
Alexandra shot to fame after winning ‘The X Factor’ in 2008, and landed a deal with Simon Cowell’s Syco label, but after topping the charts with her album ‘Overcome’, she then moved to another Sony label, RCA Records, for her second LP.
‘Heartbreak on Hold’ was released in 2012 but only reached number 18, so she then signed to Decca in December 2017 ahead of her third release.
No longer focusing on her music career may mean Alexandra has the time to start planning her wedding to Joshua Ginnelly as she recently claimed she’s been “too busy” to do so.
She said: She said: “I always did say it wouldn’t happen in 2019 because I knew I wanted to work and there’s a lot more that I want to do before I get married.
“It’s about enjoying this moment in life – we want to travel a little bit more before settling down. And there’s no time to plan anything! I’m not handing over my life to a wedding planner as I want to be a part of it all and make sure that Josh and I are happy with everything.
“If you’re only going to do it once you may as well make it as perfect as you can.”

Celine Dion biopic The Power Of Love is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — A Celine Dion biopic is in the works.
Valerie Lemercier will reportedly direct and star in ‘The Power of Love’, a $23 million music-filled film about the Canadian singer, which is slated for 2020 release from French studio Gaumont.
The superstar and her record company authorised the project and have agreed the production company can have the rights to all her songs meaning the movie will include some for her biggest hits such as; ‘All by Myself’, ‘My Heart Will Go On’, and ‘I’m Alive’.
The biopic will detail the iconic singer’s life from her childhood in Canada to her rise to fame and early career when she was still a teenager, it will also explore the musician’s personal relationships including with late manager and late husband René Angélil and her mother, Thérèse.
Valerie decided to embark on the project after being inspired by Celine’s strength and determination following the death of her husband three years ago.
She told Variety: “I discovered the strength of their love story and their great humor, and I better understood how the alchemy of their three individual ambitions made an unwanted, little girl the greatest star on the planet.”
Gaumont’s Cecile Gaget explained that the 54-year-old actress and producer is similar to the artist as she’s had a successful career doing one-woman shows at big venues in Paris.
They added: “Valerie Lemercier is impressive onstage. She’s a powerhouse who knows how to move and how to dance, and she’s an perfectionist and an overachiever in many ways like Dion.”
This project is the latest to tell the story of a modern day chart singer, following the acclaimed ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, about the late Freddie Mercury, and upcoming ‘Rocket Man’, about Sir Elton John.

Rob Kardashian doesn’t want Blac Chyna ‘cut out’ of Dream’s life

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Kardashian doesn’t want Blac Chyna “cut out” of their daughter’s life.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star was said to be fuming when the former couple’s daughter Dream, now two, was left with a nanny over the weekend rather than with him whilst Chyna partied in Hawaii with her new boyfriend but doesn’t want Chyna out of Dream’s life.
A source told People magazine: “Dream is the cutest little girl. She is very happy and so much fun to be around. Rob’s family just wants Dream to be raised in the best way possible. Regardless of the issues that Rob is dealing with, it’s pretty clear that the environment that Rob and his family can offer Dream is the healthiest for her. Rob always wanted Dream to spend time with her mom, too. He has never wanted Chyna to be cut out of Dream’s life. But, he also doesn’t want Dream to be raised by a nanny while her mom is off partying out of state.”
However, Chyna believes Rob’s backlash is just because he is jealous of her relationship with Kid Buu and Rob was said to be “mad” after Chyna jetted off to Hawaii whilst she was meant to have custody of their daughter Dream.
A source said: “Chyna planned on having Dream stay with a nanny in LA while she was in Hawaii. Rob is mad because if either parent is out of town, the other parent is supposed to have the option to keep Dream longer. Rob doesn’t want Dream to stay alone with a nanny while Chyna parties in Hawaii. This is what he is mad about. She needs to tell him when she won’t be in LA so Rob can keep Dream longer. Rob is getting his lawyer involved.”

John Barrowman has a crush on Jamie Redknapp

OHMYGOSSIP — John Barrowman says Harry Redknapp was taken aback when he told him his son Jamie Redknapp was his “celebrity crush”.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star informed the 71-year-old football manager that his 45-year-old son was his dream date when they were starring on the Australian jungle-based show, and he was met with a startled reaction.
He told The Sun Online: “He’s hot. He’s totally hot. When people say, ‘Who’s your celeb crush?’, I’d say, ‘Jamie Redknapp.’
“I actually told Harry in the jungle. I said, ‘I fancied Jamie when I was younger,’ and I don’t think he knew how to take it right away because he was just getting to know me.”
John and Harry’s fellow former campmate Emily Atack also confessed her love for Jamie during their time in the jungle, but the ‘Torchwood’ actor admits it might be “awkward” if the ‘Inbetweeners’ star ended up in a relationship with the football pundit, because John knows Jamie’s ex-wife Louise Redknapp, who he has two sons, Charles, 14, and Beau, 10, with.
He said: “If she [Emily] wanted to pursue that, she could. It could be awkward though because I know Louise.”
John and Emily have been inundated with TV offers after they became friends on ‘I’m A Celebrity’, but he doesn’t want the pair to rush into things.
He said: “I want something that’ll show off her personality and our friendship together and hopefully have something that has longevity to it.”

Jacqueline Jossa blasts ‘disgusting’ trolls for insulting kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa has blasted “disgusting” trolls for insulting her kids in a furious rant – insisting they “need help” and “potentially to be put in prison”.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress has warned people who send her horrible messages about her children – daughters Ella, three, and seven-month-old Mia, who she shares with Dan Osborne – to expect a “rude” reply back about their “face and appearance”, because it “p***es her off” receiving such comments about her kids.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, she ranted in a number of posts: “If you want to say something about my kids expect a reply back, expect it to be rude, and expect it to be about your face and your appearance.
“If you insult me or you insult my kids, more importantly, I’m gonna say something back to you or I will block you.
“But just don’t do it, how about that? Don’t be a weird person. Sorry, I’m on a rant now, but I don’t understand.
“I don’t like it, I think it’s rude, I think it’s strange and odd that you have an opinion about someone you don’t know, an opinion so strongly about their kids.
“It’s disgusting, and weird. It gets on my nerves.
“I don’t really care when people say stuff about me, I can just laugh it off and probably agree sometimes, I’m like, ‘Yeah, true.’
“But say something about my kids and it really p***es me off.
“Something else I think is really weird is that you have an opinion on a child’s appearance. That says so much more about you, I think you need help and potentially to be put in prison, because why would you have an opinion on a child’s appearance? That’s on you guys.
“Even if you have an opinion and you don’t vocalise it, fair enough, whatever.
“But to message me about it, commenting on my pictures, whatever, it is so disgusting. You need help. I honestly can’t stand people like that.”
The 26-year-old star – who played Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap from 2010 to 2018 – admitted she was “fuming” about the messages, but said she would probably “regret” ranting about them.
She added: “People say I should ignore it and I should but it’s really hard.
“I’m a normal person with real feelings and I don’t like people getting involved or talking about stuff they don’t know anything about.
“I do not like people talking about my kids, that’s my number one. I do not like that. I’m fuming.
“I do regret it [ranting] afterwards, I will probably delete these [posts].”
Jacqueline’s rant comes just months after a troll attacked former ‘Coronation Street’ star Catherine Tyldesley online, asking her if she felt “guilty seeking self-gratification” by posing for photoshoots while her kid was “at home without their mother”.
The former ‘Corrie’ star – who has three-year-old son Alfie with husband Tom Pitfield – insisted she is a “brilliant mum” in response to the social media user, who she claimed was “mum-shaming” her, and insists she puts her little one to bed “almost every night”.
She later received an apology.

Sophie Kasaei keen to freeze eggs

OHMYGOSSIP — Geordie Shore’s Sophie Kasaei wants to freeze her eggs.
The 29-year-old reality TV star is contemplating carrying out the fertility preservation method after she saw Gemma Collins do so on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, and because she is “approaching 30”.
She said: “I’m focusing on my health, I’ve got a full doctor’s check booked.
“I’m also thinking about freezing my eggs – I remember watching Gemma Collins freeze hers on TOWIE.”
Sophie – who has been with her boyfriend Jay Bigz since last autumn – admits that even though their long-distance relationship is so “tiring” they try to make the best of things.
She added: “We’re long-distance so it’s a tiring journey, but I enjoy using the time to listen to music and get glam.
“Our relationship is going really well, but it’s still early days so we’re not getting a mortgage or anything yet. We would wait at least a year.”
Sophie admitted starring on the hit MTV show keeps her busy, because a typical day includes late, hungover nights out followed by 9am starts.
Writing in her Closer magazine column, she said: “No two days are the same. A typical day in the life of filming Geordie Shore is absolutely ridiculous – we return after a night of clubbing at 3am, then producers wake us up at 9am.
“We’re often hungover – and I get the worst beer-fear when I can’t remember the previous night’s events.
“In a normal world you can just check Snapchat to see if you’ve made an idiot out of yourself, but our phones are taken away from us during filming, so rely on what the producers tell us.”

Stormzy rakes in £1m with debut album

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy raked in an impressive £1million from his debut album.
The ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ hitmaker released ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ in February 2017 to critical acclaim and it has netted him an impressive sum of money in the last year.
Accounts from his company Stormzy Limited show that in the financial year from 2017 to 2018, his assets increased from £300,000 to £1.3million, The Sun newspaper reports.
And Stormzy is set to rake in even more money this year as he was confirmed last month as the first headliner for the 2019 Glastonbury Festival.
The official Glastonbury Twitter account said in a post: “We’re delighted to announce that Stormzy is confirmed as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2019. The multi award-winning British MC will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th.”
And Stormzy has promised he will deliver a worthy “headline performance” at Glastonbury.
The ‘Big For Your Boots’ hitmaker said: “I get it. Only one album, where’s all the numbers ones? But I think the argument doesn’t even deserve the fuel. When June 28 comes, either everyone will be proved right or wrong, but I am the headliner and I will come and give you a headline performance. This is the biggest moment. The biggest stage, the biggest all-eyes-on-me kind of spotlight in my career, ever. But if you are waiting for the headliner to give you the Glastonbury headline-calibre performance then have no fear, calm down, settle.”
And Ed Sheeran, who previously headlined the famous Pyramid stage, thinks having a grime artist top the bill is a step in the right direction.
He said: “This is a great step forward, it’s a massive moment for grime music and a massive moment for young UK music as well and I think it’s so good that they’re building up a new headliner.”

Jason Iley, BRITs Chairman and Chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland, shared: “Jess has achieved chart-topping and record-breaking success since her debut only five years ago. The multi-GRAMMY nominated H.E.R. is quickly establishing herself as a global star. To see these incredible artists – who have achieved so much so early in their careers – come together on the BRITs stage, is going to be a great moment.”
Meanwhile, Jess is hoping to take home the British Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards 2019 and admits it is “really surreal” to be nominated in the category, where she will face competition from the likes of Florence and The Machine, Lily Allen, Jorja Smith and Anne Marie.
She shared: “It’s really surreal. Obviously, you know, watching the BRITs for so many years it seems like a dream only, and so to actually be nominated is really, really amazing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX, Royal Blood and CHVRCHES have been announced for Reading and Leeds festival.
The ‘Boys’ hitmaker is just one of 50 artists to be unveiled for the music extravaganza – which will take place in Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park respectively across the August bank holiday weekend, 23rd to the 25th August – whilst the ‘Figure It Out’ singers will make an appearance in a UK festival exclusive.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters, Post Malone, The 1975 and Twenty One Pilots are set to headline this year’s event whilst Bastille, Blossoms, PVRIS, Bowling For Soup and Hayley Kiyoko also set for the weekender.
Speaking about their headline slot, 1975’s frontman Matty Healy said he hopes fans will feel like they are watching someone have their “teenage mind blown” when they headline Reading and Leeds.
He said: “I want Reading to be logistically slick – I don’t want things to break; I don’t want to drop the mic like in ‘Love It If We Made It’ [at Camden Assembly last month]. But I don’t want me to be slick at Reading – I want people to be watching somebody have their teenage mind blown for two hours. Because that’s what I would wanna see!
“The set’s changed quite a lot, which keeps it fresh for us, because we change it every night. At the moment it’s still a very fresh show for me, and I think that mood really dictates me, dictates my records – my attention span dictates my records, quite obviously – and I think that I don’t get that bored with life.”

Lee Ryan’s comical EastEnders scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Lee Ryan used to break out in laughter during ‘EastEnders’ scenes in disbelief that he was on the show.
The Blue singer was “shocked” to find out he could act when he landed the role of Woody Woodward on the BBC One soap, and while starring in scenes with big-name cast members such as Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) he couldn’t help but have a little chuckle to himself.
He said: “I’ve had a few of the cast texting me asking if I’m going to come back and I said, ‘I don’t f***ing know.’
“But yeah, maybe. I think people were quite shocked I could act, and to be honest I was quite shocked, too.
“I loved the whole cast and it was a privilege to work on.
“I’d be doing scenes with Phil Mitchell [Steve McFadden] and I would find myself laughing and saying, ‘We’re on ‘EastEnders’.’
“Most of them have been there half their lives, so they’d look at me and be like, ‘Alright mate,’ and walk off.”
Lee also starred opposite Danny Dyer on the soap, and the pair were well acquainted during the singer’s first scene when the ‘Football Factory’ star accidentally whacked him in the jaw.
He added: “He was amazing. In our first scene we solidified our relationship by doing a fight scene and he accidentally clocked me in the jaw – he may have meant it.”
While the 35-year-old singer is unsure whether he will be making an Albert Square comeback anytime soon – after departing the soap in June 2018 – he is well aware of his next project, producing a horror movie.
He added to OK! magazine: “In the summer I’m producing a horror movie called ‘Mary’ with a £1.5 million budget, so that’s my focus at the moment.”

Escape To The Country to get city spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC are to launch an ‘Escape To The Country’ spin-off championing city life.
While the popular daytime show has proven a favourite with viewers after almost 17 years on the small screen, the format is to be being given a big town twist in a new programme, ‘Escape To the New Town’, which will see presenters take country dwelling folk to towns and cities to find their ideal new home.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Beeb producers know that it’s a format that works, so the new spin-off show is for those seeking a change and a faster-paced life.
“Many people have made the move to the countryside hoping for a slice of rural peace and tranquillity, but it’s not always all it’s cracked up to be
“The series will also help those who’ve lived in the sticks all their lives and are hankering after making a home in the heart of a busy, exciting metropolis. There are also some potential buyers who love town life so much they want to try another.”
It’s said the programme is already in pre-production, and it should be on air later this year.
‘Escape To The Country’ – which has been presented by Margherita Taylor since 2017 – first aired in October 2002, and follows potential buyers searching for their dream property in rural areas of the UK.
They are shown around three homes – including a mystery property – before being asked to guess the market price.
News of the spin-off show comes after the programme’s 19th series started in September last year on BBC One.

Tom Hanks records final scenes as Toy Story character Woody

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks has recorded his final ever scenes as his ‘Toy Story’ character Woody.
The 62-year-old actor is hanging up the cowboy’s hat for the last time on ‘Toy Story 4’ after first bringing the beloved Disney Pixar character to life in 1995 and he shared the news and a behind-the-scenes photo from the recording booth of his last day on his Twitter account.
Along with the photo, he tweeted: “Final line, final session as Woody of Toy Story 4. We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond. Hanx (sic)
According to the Disney synopsis, the upcoming installment will center on Woody’s original love interest Bo, reading: “Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie.
“So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (Tony Hale), declares himself as ‘trash’ and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy.
“But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep.”
Annie Potts has returned to the film to lend her voice to Bo and insisted that her character is an “independent and capable” woman.

James Arthur donates to bereaved family

OHMYGOSSIP — James Arthur has donated £500 to the family of a man who was found dead in a river after a night out.
The 30-year-old singer reached out after hearing the “tragic” news of 22-year-old Luke Jobson, who went missing in Yarm, Stockton-on-Tees, North East England, on Friday (25.01.19), only for his body to be found on Monday (28.01.19).
A fan tweeted James – who hails from nearby Redcar – to alert him to the news and a GoFundMe campaign set up in the trainee engineer’s memory and he replied: “This is tragic news I will be donating for sure. RIP young man.”
A post on the campaign page shows a £500 donation in the name of the ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ singer.
James’ generosity comes after Manchester United soccer star Luke Shaw gave £15,000 to the campaign earlier this week.
The 23-year-old sportsman had previously retweeted an appeal from police asking for witnesses to come forward.
At present, the GoFundMe page has raised almost £59,000 – far more than the £2,000 target set.
The fundraising page reads: “On behalf of everyone, we would like to thank you all for your help and support over the last few days in the search for Luke who has sadly lost his life over the weekend.
“Luke was a popular, funny and infectious lad who could light up any room with his contagious smile.
“We would like to make a donation page to help raise funds together for his family whilst they are going through this difficult time. Any donations welcome.”
Six teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in relation to Luke’s death.
