James Argent is looking forward to Dancing On Ice being over

OHMYGOSSIP — James Argent is looking forward to ‘Dancing On Ice’ being over.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star’s partner Gemma Collins is currently competing on the ITV celebrity skating competition, and while he’s proud of her journey on the show, he admitted it will be a relief when she is out of the spotlight.
Opening up on the last few weeks, Arg told ‘Loose Women’: “It has been difficult. ‘Dancing On Ice’, I love the show and Gemma has been fantastic. But I’m not gonna lie, when it ends it’s going to be a nice feeling.
“It’s been a lot of pressure, a lot of stress on Gemma, it’s all eyes on Gemma. We’ve had some amazing moments where she’s done an amazing routine, and then it’s GC fever where the whole country is behind her. But then you’ve had other moments where she’s had a hard time from Jason, she’s had stories in the press.”
Gemma has sparked controversy during her time on the show, from claims of diva behaviour to on-screen rows with judge Jason Gardiner.
The reality star recently hit back at the dance expert and accused him of “selling stories” on her – which he has denied – and her man admitted it became awkward to watch.
He added: “At the start I was like, ‘yes, go on Gemma, give it back to him!’ But then I was like, ‘Right stop, enough, you’ve said your bit so please stop.’ ”
Meanwhile, James – who revealed the door is still open for a return to ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – joked that Gemma could do with less publicity.
Responding to suggestions her recent painful fall on the ice was a stunt to get sympathy, he laughed off the idea.
He said: “Lemme put something straight. Gemma – as much as I love her I don’t want to gas her up too much – is probably the most talked about woman in the country at the moment.
“She smashed it every week, and she had the row a week before. She’s not going to risk injury – potentially smashing her teeth to pieces on the floor – for a publicity stunt. She’s the last person that needs publicity at the moment. If anything, she could do with a bit less.”

Viggo Mortensen isn’t expecting to win an Oscar

OHMYGOSSIP — Viggo Mortensen doesn’t think he’ll win an Oscar for his role in ‘Green Book’.
The 60-year-old actor has been nominated for the Best Actor gong at the upcoming Academy Awards – but he’s convinced he’ll spend the entire ceremony sitting and clapping while “other people collect trophies”, though it won’t “make [him] think differently” about his movie.
He told The i newspaper: “I have been to many award ceremonies where I’ve been nominated and my role has always been to sit and clap while other people collect trophies.
“It doesn’t matter; it doesn’t make me think differently about the films that I’ve been nominated for.”
Viggo plays bodyguard Frank ‘Tony Lip’ Vallelonga in the comedy-drama, which follows his character as he travels with Mahershala Ali’s Don Shirley, a world-class African-American pianist, on a concert tour of the Deep South of the US in 1962.
The movie centres on the unexpected friendship between the two men as they confront the racism and danger they face in an era of segregation.
Speaking of the friendship, Viggo said: “These are two men from the same place but they seem to be from different planets if Don and Tony can get along then anyone can.”
Viggo believes that the light tone of the movie – rather than the social issues it explores – will encourage a wider audience to see the flick.
He said: “Families in Kansas are going to see this movie because they hear it’s funny and it’s a great road trip. They are not going to see it because they hear it’s a movie about racism.”

Mickey Rooney’s Golden Globe sells for nearly $10,000

OHMYGOSSIP — A Golden Globe once belonging to Mickey Rooney has been sold at auction for nearly $10,000.
The late actor – who passed away in 2014 at the age of 93 – received the Golden Globe Best Actor Award in 1982 for his role in TV movie ‘Bill’ and on Thursday (31.01.19) the statuette was sold by Nate D. Sanders Auctions to a buyer who wishes to remain anonymous, in Los Angeles for a price of $9,983.
Rooney also won an Emmy for the same film, which was also listed for auction but was withdrawn at the last minute for unknown reasons.
Rooney starred as the titular character in the CBS film, which told the real-life story of Bill, who spent nearly 60 years institutionalised for an intellectual disability until he was invited to live in a Minnesota home of a documentary filmmaker.
The movie helped to change the perspectives on people living with disabilities in America, and the awards being auctioned come directly from Rooney’s estate.
On the Golden Globe – which he was awarded in 1982 during the ceremony in the Beverly Hilton – a plaque mounted to the pedestal reads: ”Mickey Rooney / Best / Television Actor / In a Mini Series / Or Motion Picture / Made for Television / ‘Bill’ / 1981 / Hollywood Foreign Press Association / 8240.”
In his lifetime, Rooney won one Emmy, two Golden Globes – with the other being for Best TV Star for his role in sitcom ‘Mickey’ in 1964 – and an Academy Juvenile Award at the Oscars in 1938, which he was awarded for his “significant contribution in bringing to the screen the spirit and personification of youth, and as a juvenile player setting a high standard of ability and achievement.”

Matt LeBlanc had $11 before Friends role

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt LeBlanc was down to his last $11 before he landed his role on ‘Friends’.
The 51-year-old actor revealed that before he got cast as Joey Tribbiani in the hit 90s sitcom he was considering getting a job as a waiter as he was struggling to find any acting work and he was running out of money to live on.
Appearing on talk show ‘Conan’ he said: “I had, I think, I was down to $11, that’s holding out too long. Because even if I said at that point, ‘Alright, I’m going to go get a waiter job.’
“By the time that $11 ran out, it would have been before the first pay cheque on that job. I would have starved.”
The ‘Episodes’ star also opened up about the frugal way he fixed his teeth when a photographer taking a headshot for him suggested he should have dental work.
Matt explained: “He said, ‘Before we take this, you might want to go get that tooth filed.’ I go, ‘What are you talking about?’ He said, ‘One tooth is a little longer than the other one. You should go get that filed.'”
Noting that he didn’t have dental insurance to cover the procedure, he continued: “I go to the drug store and buy a three pack of emery boards. I’m very frugal. He [the photographer] goes, ‘They did a nice job!”
Matt starred on the hit NBC show for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004 and recently confessed that although he’d enjoy a reunion of the show – which also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – he fears he may be too old now.
He previously said: “I understand that people really want to see that reunion. But that show was about a finite period in these six characters’ lives, between 20 and 30.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick considering Irish move

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are reportedly considering moving to Ireland.
The married couple own a property in Donegal and often take lengthy vacations in the Irish town but they are now thinking about making the European country their permanent home.
According to America’s Star magazine, Sarah and Matthew want to swap city life in New York for the peace and tranquility of Ireland.
A source told the publication: “They are serious about making a permanent move … Whenever they’re in Donegal they reconnect.”
The Irish house has been in Matthew’s family for over 40 years and the pair – who have James, 16, and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, nine, together – recently renovated the idyllic property.
Matthew will be in neighbouring country England in the summer as he will be making his West End debut in the UK premiere of Kenneth Lonergan’s 2009 play ‘The Starry Messenger’.
The ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ actor will star opposite ‘Downton Abbey’ actress Elizabeth McGovern in the production which is about Mark Williams, an astronomy lecturer at the Hayden Planetarium in New York.
Matthew, 56, has been friends with the playwright since their school days and he revealed the production is loosely based on the teacher of a class they once took together at the planetarium.
He said: “There was a teacher, and Kenny says the character was loosely based on that guy. We didn’t know anything about him, so it’s really a made-up person. [It is] a study of a guy in middle age, in a mid‑life crisis.”
‘Sex and the City’ star Sarah, 53, is the lead character in HBO drama ‘Divorce’.
She has signed up to play Frances Dufresne – a married woman who has an affair which is the cause of her separation from her husband – for a third season.

James May says The Grand Tour celebrity guests were difficult and demanding

OHMYGOSSIP — James May says ‘The Grand Tour’ axed guest stars from the show because “they’re always so difficult and demanding.”
The 56-year-old television presenter – who stars in the Amazon Video series along with Richard Hammond and James May – is glad they no longer feature high-profile celebrities because he thinks they have big egos and only want to make appearances so they can promote their own material.
James told Metro Online: “We’ve got rid of the guests and the lap thing. It’s difficult to get guests as they’ll only come if they’re plugging their new film or whatever.
“We also knew that viewers preferred watching us farting about in cars than the guests so why make life difficult for ourselves? Besides, they’re always so difficult and demanding. And that’s just Jeremy.”
The latest series features the boys driving over a rickety bridge in Columbia and the former ‘Top Gear’ presenter admitted that the boys do “technically” risk their lives when filming the show.
He said: “Technically, yes, but we’re all pretty careful. We’re all quite old now so it’s not the same as being 20, when you think you’re immortal.
“We have to keep an eye on Hammond, obviously, because he’s quite good at accidentally almost killing himself. He hasn’t done it in this series. People will want a refund.”
He also admitted that the trio – who have been filming the show since 2016 – do not socialise out of work and are not necessarily the best of friends but he thinks their differences make for good viewing.
He explained: “I think we just put up with each other and it doesn’t go any further than that. I don’t have to pretend to like them. People accept that we’re very different people and that’s a large chunk of what makes it all work.”

Rose Leslie wouldn’t speak to Kit Harington after he revealed Game of Thrones ending

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington’s wife didn’t speak to him for days after he told her the ending of ‘Game of Thrones’.
The actor – who plays Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy epic – is married to former co-star Rose Leslie, whose character Ygritte was killed off in the fourth series, and she wasn’t happy when he revealed how the highly anticipated eighth season will conclude.
Speaking on KISS Breakfast, Kit admitted: “I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn’t talk to me for about three days. And she’d asked!
“It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing. I know and no-one else does. I know how it wraps up. Yeah, I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking.”
While the 32-year-old star has promised big things for the finale, he refused to be drawn on whether he’s happy with the ending the writers have settled on.
He explained: “It’s a weird one to answer, that. I can’t really answer whether I’m happy or not.
“I don’t think it’s about happy or sad really. I’m satisfied with what they did, but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it.”
Meanwhile, he previously admitted fans of the show – which will end in April this year – are going to be disappointed no matter what happens.
He said: “It’s like when you finish a book, you’re not happy it’s over are you? You don’t finish a good book and say, ‘I’m happy I finished that.’ But you have this grief that it’s over, and it’s exactly same with nine years doing this show. No matter how it ended, or how it does end, there’s always this bit of you that’s like, ‘oh’; there’s this loss around it.”
His co-star Maisie Williams – who appears as Arya Stark in the drama – has echoed the ssentiment, but added she hopes viewers enjoy it.
She said: “I don’t know that anyone is going to be satisfied. No one wants it to end, you know, but I’m really proud of this final season. I’ve always felt ashamed to say things like that, but I am. I’m really proud of all the work we’ve put it, for me it’s the right time. I hope people like it.”

David Tennant warned Jodie Whittaker before Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant warned his friend Jodie Whittaker to be prepared for being recognised everywhere once she joined ‘Doctor Who.’
The 47-year-old star – who previously played the Time Lord himself and began his friendship with the 36-year-old actress in 2013 when they started filming ‘Broadchurch’ together – warned her to be prepared for a media frenzy which would follow her taking on the role of the Thirteenth Doctor in 2017.
Speaking on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Friday (01.02.19) he revealed: “I didn’t really have advice for Jodie. In terms of playing the part, she’s all over it, she’s such a skilled actor. But, I suppose if we talk about anything it was just kind of ‘guard your life’ a little bit because you are about to lose a certain element of it.”
Asked if he had a “disguise” so people wouldn’t recognise him in the street, David admitted while he doe try to “keep moving”, he doesn’t mind being stopped by a fan.
He added: “You just keep moving. It’s a very nice show to be known for because people feel very affectionate towards it. “They don’t come up and harangue you in the street they are just usually rather delighted so it’s nice to be in the middle of that. ”
The ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ actor also revealed the role of the Doctor requires a lot of “enthusiasm” as the fans are so passionate and have high expectations.
He said: “It attracts a level of enthusiasm, that particular show, which isn’t really like anything else, because it’s kind of cross-generational and people have grown up with it. So even people who don’t watch it feel connected to it and feel they have an ownership of it.
“And yes, there is a sense of ‘don’t break it. Don’t break it on your watch’ because it’s precious and people love it so much and it does make you ubiquitous! And that’s the bit you can’t really prepare for.”

Rebecca Ferguson would stay silent on surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson “would not tell anybody” if she ever chose to go under the knife.
The ‘Nothing’s Real But Love’ hitmaker appeared as a panellist on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (01.02.19) and during a discussion about whether or not women should be honest about their beautifying procedures Rebecca admitted she’d keep her lips firmly shut if did undergo some self improvements as people can be very “judgemental”.
She said: “I wouldn’t tell, probably because I’m in the public eye to be honest. I’d tell friends and family but I feel like people get judged by it and there’s presumptions made that you’re vain, and not intelligent and I’ve heard so many passing comments about surgery and I think there’s a difference between corrective and cosmetic.
“I think it makes no difference if you want to have something that’s going to enhance and make you feel good.”
The 32-year-old star – who shot to fame after competing on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010 – insisted it’s harder for celebrities too as if they have cosmetic procedures they get body shamed by the public on social media.
Opening up about if she’s ever been tempted to go under the knife, Rebecca added: “Yes I have, but again I would never disclose, never.
“You see these poor celebrities, look at them before and look at them after, and it’s like their body shamed. I think it takes away from people’s talents and they’re just judged on their nose jobs.”

Richard E. Grant ‘rescues’ orphaned Pelham Puppets

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard E. Grant collects Pelham Puppets.
The 63-year-old actor has a fondness for the simple wooden marionette puppets – which were created by Bob Pelham first sold in 1947 – because he received them as regular gifts as a child and he now “rescues” the vintage toys “like orphans” from various antique fairs, car boot sales and second-hand shops.
In an interview with ES Magazine, he said: “[I collect] Pelham Puppets. Got two of them for every birthday and Christmas through my childhood and now rescue them like orphans at antique fairs, car boot sales and junk shops. ”
Although Richard scours shops and sales for puppets to add to his collection, he revealed that his favourite stores are slightly more highbrow, and he likes to shop in Soho department store Liberty London and bespoke tailor Richard James on Savile Row for his clothes.
The English thespian – who has just received his first Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ – said: “Liberty – unique inimitable and sells my Jack perfume brand. Richard James in Savile Row for sartorial style distilled. Waitrose for Poilane bread and Burford brown eggs. ”
The ‘Withnail and I’ star went on to explain that although he can’t enjoy booze due to an alcohol intolerance, he does have a favourite pub and also shared his choice of hotel is Claridge’s as he’s a fan of the 1930s style decor which features a modern twist.
The ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ actor explained: “[I love] Claridge’s, it’s like stepping back into the 1930’s art deco with 21st-century amenities. Impeccable service and delicious food.
“I’m allergic to alcohol so I never go into any pubs, but I love the Churchill Arms in Notting Hill for its extravagant year-round window box displays.”

Rebecca Ferguson wasn’t ‘fully aware’ of how women fell pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson was “not fully” aware of how children were conceived when she fell pregnant at 18.
The 32-year-old singer – who has Lillie, 16, and Karl, 14, with ex-boyfriend Karl Duress, as well as Arabella, four, from another relationship – revealed that her sex education lessons at school didn’t explain the “birds and the bees” very well, and subsequently when Rebecca fell pregnant at 18, there were “certain things” she wasn’t aware of.
Discussing her first pregnancy on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, Rebecca said: “I wasn’t taught the birds and bees. Well, I was, but not very well.
“In school, we all just giggled and everyone was laughing so I never really soaked it all in.
“I don’t want to get too technical on it in the daytime when everyone is at home because of the snow, but there are certain things I wasn’t quite aware of. Yeah, I’m ashamed to say.”
In response, ‘Loose Women’ panellist Kaye Adams asked: “Were you aware of how you got pregnant?”
And Rebecca admitted: “Not fully, no – it was shameful. I can’t get into some of it but I knew certain things would make it [a baby] but not others … I’m trying to keep it PG.
“[At school] We all just sat and giggled – we’d get all kinds of props and videos and things out, and we’d all just giggle and laugh and not really soak it in.”
The ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ hitmaker – who shot to fame after competing on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010 – previously insisted that becoming a parent so young was “hugely positive” because it made her focus on reaching her goals.
She explained: “Having kids at that age was the best thing that ever happened to me. I’m not promoting it, but for me it was a hugely positive thing.
“It pushed me forward and made me want to chase my dreams. It gave me so much strength. When you have kids, you can’t just collapse in a heap when life gets you down, you’ve got to keep going.”

Adam Levine says manager would’ve wanted Maroon 5 to play Super Bowl

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Levine thinks Maroon 5’s late manager would have wanted them to take on the “challenge” of the Super Bowl halftime show.
The 39-year-old singer and his bandmates have sparked controversy by agreeing to perform at the halftime show in Atlanta, and Adam has revealed his childhood friend Jordan Feldstein – who was the group’s manager until his death in December 2017 – was on his mind as he made the decision.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I am here because of me, and I am here because of the band, but I am here because of Jordan. This was our thing, you know?
“This is what we wanted … Ultimately when looking at all this stuff and needing him and listening for him, that was a huge factor in all of this – accepting this challenge [to perform] and a challenge it has been, obviously.
“But I got it. At the end of the day, I know what he wanted me to do, and I know how he would have wanted me to do it. So, it’s gotten me this far, you know? I feel like he is always with me somehow. He is there.”
Feldstein passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles, aged 40.
Adam has insisted he’s thought long and hard about the decision to perform during the game between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams.
He explained: “No one thought about it more than I did. No one put more thought and love into this than I did … I spoke to many people, most importantly though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.”
Various artists are rumoured to have rejected the chance to perform during this year’s halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback who started the take-a-knee protest movement in response to racial inequality.

KiKi Layne: I don’t think I’m famous

OHMYGOSSIP — KiKi Layne doesn’t think she’s famous.
The 27-year-old actress stars in the acclaimed romantic-drama movie ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’, but KiKi has insisted she’s been unaffected by her recent success.
She explained: “My friends are like: ‘How does it feel to be famous?’ And I’m like: ‘I am not famous. Don’t nobody know who I am. I still be living my best life, shopping at your local grocery store, picking up my apples and stuff, and just moving right along.'”
KiKi recently sparked a mini-controversy when she discussed her dream of playing the weather-controlling superhero Storm in an ‘X-Men’ movie.
Alexandra Shipp, who played Storm in the last ‘X-Men’ movie, opted to sidestep the comments – and Kiki was surprised by the reaction to her remarks.
Reflecting on the incident, she told the Guardian newspaper: “I was like: ‘Whoa. OK, that escalated quickly.’
“But playing Storm is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. I’m not going to ever feel bad about sharing what my dreams are.”
Meanwhile, KiKi recently revealed she feared fangirling over fellow actresses Julia Garner and Sadie Sink during a photoshoot for a Kate Spade campaign.
The Hollywood actress relished the experience of working with Julie, who stars in ‘Ozark’, and Sadie, who plays Maxine ‘Max’ Mayfield in ‘Stranger Things’, despite her initial nerves.
She shared: “It was just really warm and Julia and Sadie are super dope.
“I’m also a huge fan of ‘Stranger Things’, so as soon as I learned that I was working with Sadie, I was just like, ‘Don’t you fangirl her at all’. And it was dope meeting Julia as well.”

Christina Aguilera claims Pink rejected her kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera’s feud with Pink started when she refused to kiss her during a game of spin the bottle.
The 38-year-old singer has denied claims made by Pink that Christina “swung on [her] in a club”, assuring fans that the bad feeling between the pair wasn’t down to a violent altercation but rather a party game gone wrong.
Speaking on ‘Look What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’, the pop star said: “I seem to have a different memory of a night we had at a club where we played spin the bottle. I have a love memory.
“I don’t know … Look at her and look at me, I wouldn’t swing on her! She’s like … she can beat my ass, are you kidding me? She could really beat my ass then.
“I was excited about a kiss. I was like, ‘Oh, a kiss and all’s good.’ And then she put her hand up like this, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s what we’re doing? Alright.’ She didn’t want to get ‘Dirrty’.”
The ‘Beautiful’ hitmaker went on to explain that there had been tension while recording the video for their hit single ‘Lady Marmalade’.
Christina said: “I know she had a [negative] feeling or whatever about how the recording of ‘Lady Marmalade’ went down and I know the actual video she intimidated me a lot.
“She was heckling me in the audience a little bit behind the director but that’s what she did back then but she’s a different person now she’s a mom, she’s cool.”
Pink, 39, previously made the claims on the same show, saying she found the incident “hilarious”.
She explained: “She swung on me in a club. Hilarious! I was like, ‘What’s happening right now? What’s happening?'”

Noel Clarke ‘reminds young actors he’s still about’ at EE Rising Star Party

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Clarke rocked up at the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star party on Thursday night (31.01.19) to “remind young actors” that he is “still about”.
The ‘Adulthood’ star partied the night away with the likes of Jimmy Akingbola and Alfie Allen at the star-studded bash at the newly-renovated Baptist at L’oscar Hotel in Holborn, central London, ahead of the EE British Academy Film Awards.
He wrote on his Instagram Stories: “I was out last night. Had to remind these young actors I’m still about #Longevity #EERisingStarParty #EERisingStar #BAFTA #VanityFair (sic)
And despite Jimmy’s best efforts to keep Noel out for a late one, the ‘Kidulthood’ actor – who has three children with wife Iris Clarke – had to go home to see his little ones.
Jimmy said: “I’m trying to keep him out but he dropped the ace card on me.”
Noel added: “It’s time to go home – I got kids!”
Ncuti Gatwa was also at the bash, no doubt celebrating the second series of Netflix hit ‘Sex Education’ being commissioned, news which was confirmed on Friday (01.02.19).
Other stars in attendance included Caroline Flack, Ella Eyre, Laura Whitmore, Zara Martin and Luke Pasqualino, as well as Jessie Buckley and Barry Keoghan.
Jessie and Barry are nominated for the EE Rising Star Award – the only British Academy Film Awards accolade nominated for by the British public – alongside Cynthia Erivo, Lakeith Stanfield and Letitia Wright.
Elsewhere, Bluey was also partying at the event last night. The British singer-and-actor is currently shooting a top-secret project with an Oscar-winning director in London, but it meant he had to miss the Rotterdam premiere of his movie ‘Dirty God’.
Guests threw some serious shapes to sets from DJ Henri, and they downed drinks and cocktails created in partnership with Champagne Taittinger, Villa Maria, CîROC & Peroni.
What’s more, The Baptist Bar team at L’oscar Hotel created bespoke cocktails in honour of each 2019 EE Rising Star nominee – Buckley’s Fizz, Cosmo Erivo, Keoghan’s American Apple, Stanfield’s Sling, and The Wright One.
Selected stars were also treated to a live photo-shoot for Vanity Fair’s renowned Portrait Studio, shot by photographer Zoe McConnell.
‘This is England’ star Vicky McClure and magician Dynamo also showed their support for the Rising Star nominees at the bash.
The EE British Academy Film Awards are on Sunday 10th February 2019. Voting is live at ee.co.uk/BAFTA.
