OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Nash was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK Americana Awards on Thursday (31.01.19).
The 76-year-old musician took home the coveted trophy during the fourth UK Americana Awards at Hackney Empire in East London on Thursday night, as he was honoured in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Americana genre over the span of their career and life in music.
Other winners at the event – which was hosted by Bob Harris – included Frank Turner, who picked up the Best Selling Americana Album Award for ‘Be More Kind’, producer Joe Boyd who bagged the Trailblazer Award, Bennet Wilson Poole who was named UK Artist of the Year, and Brandi Carlisle, whose track ‘The Joke’ won International Song of the Year.
Each winner was awarded a ‘Woody’ to mark their achievement, which is a hand-crafted representations of 7″ singles turned in a variety of wood.
For the Lifetime Achievement Award – which is the highest honour handed out at the Americana Awards – Graham received a special 12″ version.
Graham also took to the stage to perform at the event, alongside Rhiannon Giddens, Jade Bird, YOLA, Seth Lakeman, Chris Hillman and Curse of Lono, as well as the house band which was helmed by esteemed producer and songwriter Ethan Johns.
The awards were presented by Bob Harris who was joined on stage by Countryfile’s Ellie Harrison, 10 CC’s Graham Gouldman, US Country star Ashley Monroe, Glastonbury Festival’s Emily Eavis and US comedian and musician Rich Hall to hand out the coveted gongs.

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera thinks Lady Gaga “did the right thing” in removing her R.Kelly duet ‘Do What U Want’ from streaming services.
Gaga, 32, took down the song – which she recorded with Kelly in 2013 – earlier this month following the accusations of sexual assault made by a host of women against the R&B star in the new Lifetime documentary series ‘Surviving R. Kelly’.
And now Christina – who recorded a special duet version of the song with Gaga, which they performed together on ‘The Voice’ in 2013 – has praised Gaga’s actions, saying she’s pleased the singer “showed her support” to Kelly’s alleged victims.
She said: “I think she absolutely did the right thing. I love that she spoke and addressed it and showed her support.”
Christina, 38, also says she found it difficult to sit through the documentary series as she found it “so heavy”, as she related to the women who came forward with their allegations.
Speaking on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ this week, she said: “It was very heavy for me. I actually went through a lot of … let’s not really go there.
“When you’re in this business, you’re exposed to so many predators and so many things … Watching what happened to Aaliyah and everything you’re exposed to so much at such a young age.”
Her comments come after she previously spoke out in defence of the version of the song she recorded with Gaga, praising it for showing “women sticking together”.
Posting several images of the performance on Twitter, the ‘Liberation’ singer wrote: “This is a reminder of women sticking together– and not letting a man take ownership of a great song/ moment… And if anything the message of this song remains that although you may have had my body, you will never have my heart, my voice my life or my mind.
“Being a survivor of past predators myself, these lines spoke to me, which is why I did the song. I embrace all survivors of sexual and domestic violence and abuse holding a special place in my heart, and you @ladygaga, for doing the right thing! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose Leslie didn’t talk to her husband Kit Harington for “three days” after learning the ending to ‘Game of Thrones’.
The 32-year-old actor stars as Jon Snow in the hit HBO fantasy drama which is set to air its eighth and final season this April, and says although his wife Rose – who played Ygritte on the show before departing in season four – asked about the ending, she wasn’t happy with the answer.
Kit said: “I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn’t talk to me for about three days. And she’d asked!”
The actor – who met Rose on the set of ‘Game of Thrones’ and married her last year – won’t divulge details about the show’s final episodes to the public, but says he expected the end result to be “groundbreaking”.
Speaking to the KISS Breakfast radio show on Friday (01.02.19), he said: “I can’t really answer whether I’m happy or not. I don’t think it’s about happy or sad really. I’m satisfied with what they did, but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it. It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing. I know and no one else does. I know how it wraps up. Yeah, I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking.”
Meanwhile, Kit’s co-star Maisie Williams – who plays Arya Stark – recently claimed fans wouldn’t be satisfied with the ending because no-one wants the show to come to a close.
She said: “I don’t know that anyone is going to be satisfied. No one wants it to end, you know, but I’m really proud of this final season. I’ve always felt ashamed to say things like that, but I am. I’m really proud of all the work we’ve put it, for me it’s the right time. I hope people like it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Michaels has “done things [she’s] not proud of” in relationships in order to find song inspiration.
The 25-year-old singer has said that sometimes, she’ll “start fights for no reason” or do “really s****y things to people” when she’s in a relationship, because she wants to be able to draw inspiration from her disastrous romances within her music.
In her new track ‘Happy’, Julia sings about how she “kills relationships for art”, and when asked if she actually does that, she said: “Yeah, 100 percent! I think as an artist and as a creative person, it can become fairly easy to become lyrically and creatively stagnant. And sometimes when that happens you do a lot of really s****y things to people, and you don’t really mean to.
“You realise afterward, after you’ve written something, you’re like: ‘Oh, cool, that’s why I did that. Sorry, babe! Love you!’ I’ve definitely done some things I’m not proud of. Started fights for no reason, for sure. Well, I guess there is a reason: to write about it.”
And even when the ‘Issues’ hitmaker isn’t sabotaging her romances, she says dating in the spotlight can be tricky, especially when it comes to public break-ups which she says can be “sad and scary”.
Julia – who recently split with her former boyfriend Lauv – told People magazine: “Dating in general is hard enough, then you have the pressure of people watching. I think you put the pressure on it. It’s your choice to post about it. It’s your choice to make it known by the public.
“So really it’s just however much you want to divulge to people. If you’re like me, you’re obsessed with love and want to tell the world about it. When you go through heartbreak and everybody knows about it, that can be sad and scary.
“You never really know two sides of the story, you only really ever know what you see. That can be a bit challenging.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick is recovering after being hospitalised with kidney stones.
The 33-year-old actress took to Twitter on Friday (01.02.19) to share with her followers that she had been rushed to hospital in pain with the condition, as she thanked the hardworking doctors and nurses who cared for her at the Atlanta hospital she was admitted to.
She wrote: “So, I need to give a shout out to the Atlanta doctors and nurses who helped me through my first experience with kidney stones when I was at my most vulnerable and terrified. Especially the truly wonderful ladies: Renee, Sandra, Muriel, Beverly, Ashley, Nina, Callie.
“And the young woman whose name started with “L”?? I can’t remember… in fairness, you were one of the people giving me the heavy s**t right before I went under… but you laughed at my tired a** ‘If I die, clear my search history’ joke and I appreciate that.”
The ‘Simple Favour’ star didn’t know how severe her health problem was at first, and is thankful for the “attention and kindness” she received from the women who treated her.
She added: “I was worried that my pain would turn out to be ‘nothing serious’ or something that I should have been able to fight through. I’m so grateful to these women. Even if we only interacted for a moment, know that the attention and kindness you give your patients is so appreciated.”
Her health battle comes after the ‘Pitch Perfect’ star previously claimed she was working on making healthier food choices after turning 30.
She said at the time: “I’ve been trying to be more healthy, and oh, it’s the worst. The worst part is I feel so much better. Like, that’s the worst part … it works! … I was really hoping that I would just do it as an experiment and I would feel the same and I could just go back to eating Taco Bell whenever I wanted.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Bacon doesn’t think there’s a “secret” to his lasting marriage.
The 60-year-old actor recently celebrated 30 years of marriage to actress Kyra Sedgwick, but has said he doesn’t want to define their romance in one short quote, because he thinks that would “disrespectful to the relationship”.
Speaking to Fox News, he said: “There is no secret. In fact, I’ve often had a couple of different one-liners for that answer, and then I decided that really the answer is I’m not going to answer it because the last thing I want to do is come up with some quote that is going to summarise a 30-year relationship you know? It’s disrespectful to the relationship. So I don’t really know.”
The couple – who married in 1988 and have son Travis, 29, and daughter Sosie, 26, together – celebrated three decades of marriage in September, and ‘Following’ star Kevin marked the occasion with a sweet video.
Posting the clip, which featured himself and 53-year-old Kyra singing and playing the guitar along to the 1967 Bee Gees tune ‘To Love Somebody’, Kevin wrote: “30 years! I can’t believe it. @kyrasedgwick is the woman of my dreams and the music of my life #tolovesomebody #beegees. (sic)”
The pair met on the set of the PBS version of play ‘Lemon Sky’ and have starred alongside one another in several projects, including ‘The Woodsman’, ‘Murder in the First’, and ‘Loverboy’.
Kyra made her directorial debut in Lifetime TV film ‘Story of a Girl’, and she cast Kevin as diner owner Michael because she thought he would generate money for the project.
She said: “I always wanted Kevin to be in it to play Michael. I just thought it was a great role for him and the truth is, when we were trying to make it as an independent feature, we were trying to raise money and I asked him if he would be interested in playing that role – not because I thought he would be brilliant, but frankly because he would get the movie made.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy’s #MERKY Festival is set to return to Ibiza Rocks this summer.
The grime superstar – who launched the event two years ago – will bring his third annual festival back to the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in July this year, with a highly-anticipated line-up of the freshest and fiercest urban talent, which is set to be announced soon.
Jordan Hallpike, Director of Talent & Programming, Ibiza Rocks said: “The creation of #MerkyFestival has made history by putting grime and rap on the map in Ibiza and we’re really proud of that. With Stormzy coming from headlining Glastonbury in front of tens of thousands back to the intimate poolside setting of #MERKY shows the power of Stormzy and Ibiza Rocks combined. This is going to be one hell of a two day afterparty.”
Although the festival itself only launched in 2017, Stormzy began planning the event way back in 2015 when he played his Ibiza debut at the hotel, and was invited back the same year as a headliner.
The ‘Big For Your Boots’ hitmaker then created the annual event, which last year saw the likes of J Hus, Ramz, NOT3S, Mabel, and Krept & Konan rock the stage with their high impact performances.
‘Bouff Daddy’ rapper J Hus, MIST, Ray BLK and Dave were among the acts who performed at #MERKY’s debut in 2017.
For Stormzy, the two day festival – which takes place on July 1 and 2 – will come just days after he takes to the stage at the iconic Glastonbury festival, where he is set to play a hit-filled headline set.

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe is obsessed with ‘The Bachelor’.
The 29-year-old actor is best known for playing the young wizard Harry Potter in the movie franchise of the same name, but when it comes to the kind of shows he likes to watch, he prefers to indulge in some real life drama, in the form of dating show ‘The Bachelor’.
When asked what his current pop culture obsession is, Daniel said: “‘The Bachelor’ I’m doing a lot of. I say this to people and they seem surprised. I would also like to say I used to be like one of those guys who was like, ‘Yeah, my girlfriends make me watch it.’ It’s not – I’m making the choice. It’s me week after week.
“I’m very obsessed particularly with this season. Also, he seems like a nice person this season … they haven’t all been.”
The ‘Beast of Burden’ star admits he wasn’t always so keen on the show, as he was “really annoying and snobby” about reality television at first, but realised how entertaining it was when he finally sat down to watch it.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning America’, he added: “I think I used to be like really annoying and snobby about it and then I actually started watching it and I’m like, ‘Ahhh I like this. It’s fine.”
Although Daniel loves to sit back and enjoy binge watching his favourite shows, he won’t be heading to the theatre to see ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ any time soon, because he thinks other audience members would be “watching” him to see how he reacts.
He said: “I’ve been asked this a lot, and I feel like I always give a really boring, terrible answer. I’m probably not going to see it. I don’t have plans to. Not because I think it would throw me into some existential crisis of like, ‘Oh, is that what happened?’ But more so I just feel like it would not be a relaxing evening in the theatre.
“I feel like I would be being watched for my reaction. And maybe that is complete conceited and egotistical and people wouldn’t care. But I do feel like if I was just surrounded by ‘Harry Potter’ fans, it would be a little odd.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway got “really sick” after losing an “unhealthy” amount of weight for her role in ‘Les Miserables’.
The 36-year-old actress starred as Fantine in the 2012 movie of the famous play – for which she won an Oscar – and has said her dedication to the role saw her lose so much weight in a short space of time that she fell ill.
She said: “I’d lost an unhealthy amount of weight in two weeks. I didn’t know anything about nutrition. I taxed my body, and my brain bore the brunt of it for a while. I just felt very anxious and very lost at that time.
“That weight loss was not a long-term good thing for my health, and it took a really long time to come back from it. And I was still really sick because of it.”
The ‘Serenity’ star had just married her husband Adam Shulman – with whom she has two-year-old son Jonathan – at the time, but felt “uncomfortable” with living her life “on display”.
Speaking on ‘The Jess Cagle Interview’ on PeopleTV, she added: “I had just turned 30. I had just gotten married. Even the most positive thing can be upheavals to your identity. So to just have this moment and not really know who I was – and the moment when you just feel like you’re on display – it wasn’t a comfortable feeling. And I didn’t do what I hoped that I would if I ever found myself in that moment.
“Life went on beyond it. I feel much emptier now. It would have been nice if had happened then, but I’ll still take it.”
Meanwhile, Anne recently said she “barely ate anything” and turned to cigarettes ahead of awards season a decade ago
She said: “I did everything so wrong for so long.
“I’m not big on looking back but I remember 10 years ago being so scared going into the whole awards season and doing what I thought I was supposed to do, so I barely ate anything at Christmas … I thought movie stars had to have a certain body. I was just smoking, just smoking my nerves away and wasn’t nourishing myself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gisele Bundchen thinks the #MeToo movement is “a beautiful thing”.
The 38-year-old model has praised the movement – which aims to encourage people to stand up against sexual harassment – for “uniting women” across the globe toward one cause, and says she doesn’t understand why it’s taken so long for people to want to see an end to sexual misconduct.
She said: “This [#MeToo] movement has united women. It’s a beautiful thing. We are stronger when we are together. It makes me wonder why we weren’t being like this before.”
Gisele – who is married to Tom Brady, with whom she has son Benjamin, nine, and daughter Vivian, six – says she’s always been surrounded by her “supportive” siblings, and couldn’t believe other models weren’t as welcoming when she first joined the industry.
Speaking to Net-A-Porter’s PorterEdit magazine – which is available online now, and hits newsstands on February 8 – she added: “I come from a family of six strong, beautiful women. The way I grew up, we always supported each other, we helped each other, we loved each other. But when I left home, that’s not what I felt with the other models. I did not understand why anyone would not want the best for me, when I wanted the best for everybody.”
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty recently revealed there’s no “secret” to her lasting relationship with NFL star Tom Brady.
She said: “I think it’s important to honour each other for who we are, and to not try to change the other. Just to fully accept each other.
“I think it’s important to always keep the communication also loving and respectful and current. I’m not going to talk about something that happened, you know a year ago. We address it, and then we let it go. Because I think with acceptance comes freedom.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Levine will “wear daddy bracelets” during Maroon 5’s Super Bowl halftime performance, in dedication to his daughters.
The 39-year-old singer has daughters Dusty Rose, two, and Gio, 11 months, with his wife Behati Prinsloo, and although the tots won’t be present in person when he takes to the stage with his band to perform at the iconic halftime show this weekend, Adam will make sure they know he’s thinking of them when they watch it from home.
Asked if his daughters will be at the show, he told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “They are too little. The little kids they are going to stay home. It is a little bit of a fiasco out here. It is a little crazy. So we are going to keep them home.
“My wife will be out here, though, very soon, which will be nice. But [the girls] are going to watch on TV. I am going to wear daddy bracelets so they can see that I am representing them well. They get to watch on TV. I am sure they prefer that too, instead of the chaos.”
His comments come after he revealed this week that it took him a long time to decide to accept the offer to perform at the Super Bowl, amid the current controversy surrounding the NFL due to the #TakeAKnee movement to protest racial inequality.
Maroon 5 received backlash from many people who claimed they should pull out of the show to stand with those protesting, and Adam says he “spoke to many people” before deciding if it was the right decision.
He said: “No one thought about it more than I did. No one put more thought and love into this than I did … I spoke to many people, most importantly though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has shot down rumours she’ll be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show this weekend, because it “wouldn’t feel right”.
The 26-year-old rapper was hotly tipped to be joining Maroon 5 on stage at the annual sporting event to perform their hit song ‘Girls Like You’, but Cardi has now confirmed she won’t be appearing, because she doesn’t want to associate with the NFL given current controversy surrounding the #TakeAKnee movement to protest racial inequality.
Cardi told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It wouldn’t be the perfect time. I stand on what I stand, you know what I’m saying? I stand on what I stand. I am doing other things, because, you know, they like to make money out of us. Why not make a little money out of them?
“I can’t push my limits. My soul wouldn’t feel right. But I know me and Maroon 5 have a lot of performances coming [up]. That song just means so much to me.”
Her comments come after ‘Sugar’ hitmaker Adam Levine said he deliberated over the band’s decision to headline the event – which will also see rapper Big Boi and Travis Scott perform – and insisted people’s voices are heard through their performance.
He said: “No one thought about it more than I did. No one put more thought and love into this than I did … I spoke to many people, most importantly though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.
“They will be [heard] – that’s all I want to say because I don’t want to spoil anything. And once again, I like to think that people know where I stand as a human being after two decades doing this. I’m not a speaker. I’m not a public speaker. I do speak, but it’s through the music. My life’s work and what I put out into the universe has been positive and hopefully inspiring … So, what I would say is, you know, we are going to do what we keep on doing, hopefully without becoming politicians and continuing to use the one voice we know how to use properly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B and Offset are working on their marriage.
The pair – who have six-month-old daughter Kulture Kiari together – separated late last year after Cardi accused the Migos rapper of being unfaithful but she says they are trying to work things out for the sake of their baby.
Cardi told PEOPLE: “We’re just taking things slow. We have a baby right now. That’s like our real big focus.
“I hang out with him, I talk to him every day and we do our thing. It’s just like – to make things perfect … it takes time. You know, f**king and hanging out doesn’t mean that you guys are on like a perfect note, it takes time. It takes time. And it’s a marriage and there’s a child involved and family involved.”
Cardi also insisted that she and the Migos rapper are just a regular couple and she can’t understand why people care about their relationship.
She said: “I feel like we just really are a very regular couple. We just do regular things. I just feel like: We’re famous … we’re really popular right now — I just don’t know the obsession, like I feel like everything we do is a big deal. Even before the bad scandals, just from the first time they seen us together, it was just like this big crazy deal.”
It was recently claimed Cardi was planning to return to their marital home in Atlanta for the first time since she accused Offset of being unfaithful to her.
Sources said Cardi agreed to take Offset back after he proved his dedication to their relationship, with one of the key factors in the 26-year-old star’s decision being the ‘Motorsport’ hitmaker agreeing to change his phone number.
In order to show Cardi he is serious about honest and faithful, Offset, 27, has vowed his new line will only be accessible to his wife and business associates.
The couple have also agreed a ‘no groupies’ rule and as a result, Offset won’t allow any female fans near him when Migos perform their Super Bowl shows over the weekend.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pitbull inspired John Travolta to go bald.
The 64-year-old actor recently revealed his new look and revealed that his pal Pitbull has been trying to convince him to adopt the look for some time, even photoshopping pictures of John bald to show him how good it would look.
Speaking to Extra, John said: “A good friend, Armando Perez, Pitbull — he lives his life like this. He would send pictures of me where I have all my hair, and he’d superimpose no hair and say, ‘I prefer this,’ so I thought … Maybe it’s time to do it.”
And John’s wife Kelly Preston is also a huge fan.
John said: “She loves it… She has always loved the idea.”
And John is thrilled by the reaction to his new look, joking that the last time people were so interested in him was when he mispronounced Idina Menzel’s name at the 2014 Oscars.
He said: “It’s been a lot easier. Life’s simpler. The biggest fun has been just the response to it. I felt like Zoolander or something – I came out and my new look became headline news. The only other time I was a leading story was when I mispronounced at the Oscars.”
John and Pitbull have been good friends since the rapper provided the soundtrack to Travolta’s 2018 movie ‘Gotti’.
John previously spoke of their friendship, saying: “I listen to Pitbull. He is my man. I love my Pitbull. He told me he wanted to be part of it. I said ‘Oh my God, we would be so lucky to have you to be part of this.’ He wrote a beautiful song called ‘Amore,’ which is at the opening and at the end of the film.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is “proud” her daughter doesn’t know if she wants to get married.
The 49-year-old actress – who was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony – thinks it’s important her twins Max and Emme, 10, love themselves for who they are and in particular that her little girl knows she doesn’t have to rely on a man to be happy.
Jennifer – who has the twins with Marc – told Red magazine: “I grew up with the fairy tale, ‘A prince is going to save you’, ‘Wait for true love and that’s what makes you happy’, ‘If you’re not married, you’re not happy.’
“Well, let me tell you, my daughter is eons ahead of me already.
“She said to me when she was eight, ‘I don’t know if I want to get married, Mommy.’
“And when she said that, I was like, ‘Yes!’ because I’ve been teaching her to love herself since she was little.
“I’ve had to learn that as an adult and she is doing it right now.
“You don’t have to be afraid to be alone. You can be happy on your own. You can know you’re OK. It was such a relief.”
The ‘Second Act’ actress – who is now in a relationship with retired baseball ace Alex Rodriguez – credits her children for motivating her to be a “better” person.
She said: “Once I had my kids, I realised I had to be better. I had to do better.
“So I started doing a lot of work on myself. I started searching spiritually, religion, all of it. Self-help, life coach, meditation, yoga, more meditation, different types of working out.
“Just trying to find how I could be the best me. You’ve taken the knocks so your kids can be better, right?
“And that’s the evolution of life. You can prepare your kids. You can prepare them in a different way than we were prepared.
“Not to get political, but even these kids who are standing up against school shootings and things like that, I look at them and look at my kids and I have hope for the world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona is “scared” of dying.
The 38-year-old singer – who has Molly, 17, and Lilly-Sue, 15, with first husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 11, and Maxwell, 10, with Mark Croft, and Dylan-Jorge, four, with third spouse George Kay – is worried about getting older because it brings her closer to her own mortality.
Asked if she worries about ageing, Kerry said to Now magazine: “Yes, I’m going to be 40 next year.
“It’s not about my looks – I look about 12 anyway. I’m scared of death.
“I know it sounds morbid but I’m so scared of leaving my children and missing out on their lives. I think, ‘F**k, I”m 40. I have 44 Christmases left.'”
Kerry is currently single and after having such a turbulent personal life in the past, she’s not in a rush to get into another relationship.
She said: “To be honest, I don’t even know if I want a man.
“I’ve gone from the extreme of meeting someone, falling in love, getting pregnant, getting married, and then divorced, to the point where I don’t want anybody in my life.
“I’ve been hurt so much, I’m not letting anyone in. But at the same time, I don’t want to be on my own.”
Meanwhile, the former Atomic Kitten singer admitted she’s considering having some cosmetic surgery.
She said: “Not at the minute but I was thinking about getting a boob job though.
“When I lift my arms, they look really good. I want to be able to walk around like, ‘Hi boys! How are you?'”
