Charlie Puth is a ‘terrible’ piano teacher

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth is “terrible” at teaching people how to play piano.
The ‘Marvin Gaye’ hitmaker – whose mother taught him how to play the instrument himself when he was just four years old – has gone on to inspire other people to follow their passion with music, and while he’s grateful he doesn’t think he’s the best person to learn from.
Speaking to Billboard, he said: “I never thought that there would be a day and age where I’d be interacting with millions of people at a time…
“I’m a terrible piano teacher. Don’t ask me for lessons! But I’m happy that they’re playing.”
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old star also commented on the new freedom he is feeling with his own music after taking control with his 2018 sophomore album ‘Voicenotes’.
Referring to the amount of control other people had over his sound and image for 2016 debut ‘Nine Track Mind’, Charlie insisted he’s finally being himself.
He explained: “I’m just finally, after three years of following other people’s orders, doing what I wanna do.
“And ‘Voicenotes’ was the beginning of me kind of rebelling, I guess, against that… this music is going to feel very, very 100 percent me.”
Last year, the star reveled he had gone an extra step to take control of his sound after undergoing surgery to improve his voice.
He said: “I had nasal surgery to correct my septum, and nobody knows I had surgery. I can sing better now. I was never gonna tell anybody, but I can tell people. If Kylie Jenner can tell everybody…”

Kem Cetinay reveals Dancing On Ice anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay says his ‘Dancing On Ice’ anxiety was the worst the show’s producers have ever seen.
The former ‘Love Island’ star is now the digital host for ITV’s figure skating competition for the current series after appearing as a contestant last year – when he finished in fourth place – and he has admitted he even had to lock himself away because of his overwhelming nerves.
Speaking to the latest issue of OK! Magazine, he said: “You have to push me off the rink normally, but doing it in front of a camera, I got the worst anxiety.
“ITV said I had the worse nerves they’d ever seen. I wouldn’t talk to anyone and I’d lock myself in my room. I don’t get nervous about hosting though, that’s just fun!”
Last month, the 22-year-old star apologised to contestant Gemma Collins after claiming that she had been late to rehearsals for a group performance because she was “having a nap”, and revealed she’d left a live show early because she was “bored”.
However, Gemma insisted she hadn’t done anything she was accused of and her good friend was later said to have apologised to her.
A source said at the time: “Gemma was so upset after watching ‘This Morning ‘- there are plenty of things that go on behind-the-scenes during the making of a show but she’s been purposefully singled out.
“She was accused of having a nap during a dress rehearsal but that wasn’t the case – she asked whether there would be time for one and was told there wouldn’t be.
“Kem and her are good friends and it felt like he’d betrayed her by making the comments he did, which he’s since massively apologised for.
“But Kem was only doing his job as ‘Dancing On Ice’ digital presenter and part of that is revealing what goes on when the cameras stop rolling.”

Philip Glenister shocked by gruesome tales on What The Killer Did Next

OHMYGOSSIP — Philip Glenister has been shocked by the gruesome murder stories on his new show ‘What The Killer Did Next’.
The 56-year-old actor – best known for playing DCI Gene Hunt on the hit BBC 70s-based police drama ‘Life On Mars’ – has been particularly irked by some of the family cases on his new Crime+Investigation show, as he has daughters Millie and Charlotte with his wife Beth Goddard.
Philip told the Daily Star: “I think what people find fascinating, is seeing how each of these murderers has tried to normalise their life once they’ve committed the crime, trying to carry on.
“There’s one case I find particularly shocking, involving two sisters. I have two daughters and the thought of something like that happening, you can’t get your head around it.”
Meanwhile, the television star revealed that portraying the famous Detective Chief Inspector on-screen made him something of a legend with the real police force, who embraced him and framed his picture in their stations.
He said: “They were more than OK with it… One police force told me: ‘We’ve put your picture above the Queen’s in the station.’
“But it was a very different time. A lot of the older police said they’d had DCIs like Gene, sometimes worse.”
Philip also revealed that he himself had great memories of the 1970s and fondly remembered growing up with constant power cuts in the house because they were a great excuse to not do his homework.
“I was a kid in the 70s, so I have fond memories. I remember the power cuts. Those were a great excuse not to do my homework. The only snag was the telly would go off in the middle of Z-Cars or something.”
‘What The Killer Did Next’ continues on ‘Crime+Investigation’ at 9pm on Monday (11.02.19).

David Tennant had therapy over Doctor Who fame

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant needed therapy to cope with fame after joining ‘Doctor Who’.
The actor took on the role of the Time Lord back in 2005, and he has admitted it was a shock being thrust into the public eye after only having a number of small roles before stepping into the TARDIS.
After Olivia Colman revealed she needed therapy to cope with fame when she appeared on ‘David Tennant Does A Podcast With . . .’, he said: “I did too, and I’ve never admitted that before, but it’s true.
“I was so glad I was nearly middle-aged.”
David, now 47, became a star overnight when he followed on from Christopher Eccleston and became The Doctor.
While it was still a very difficult adjustment for him, the star admitted he would have found it even harder if that success had come when he was a teenager.
He added: “I found it genuinely quite distressing, much more distressing than I’ve ever really talked about.
“If you’re 17 and suddenly the world goes, ‘Oh hi, oh hi, oh hi,’ I don’t know how your brain copes. I was in my mid to late thirties when I lost that kind of anonymity.”
Meanwhile, David recently revealed while he didn’t give current Time Lord Jodie Whittaker – whom he and Olivia both starred with in ‘Broadchurch’ – any acting advice for the character, he did tell her how it would change her life.
He said: “I didn’t really have advice for Jodie. In terms of playing the part, she’s all over it, she’s such a skilled actor. But, I suppose if we talk about anything it was just kind of ‘guard your life’ a little bit because you are about to lose a certain element of it.”

Duchess Catherine wears Princess Diana’s earrings to BAFTAs

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine wore a pair of earrings owned by the late Princess Diana to the BAFTAs on Sunday (10.02.19).
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on the red carpet at the EE British Academy Film Awards, which were held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, in a stunning Alexander McQueen one-shoulder white gown which she matched with the pearl and diamond earrings which Diana famously donned whilst accepting the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation’s Humanitarian of the Year Award in 1995.
The outfit was completed with a simple ivory box clutch bag and sparkling Jimmy Choo court shoes.
Catherine, 37, was accompanied by her husband, BAFTA President Prince William – whose mother was Diana – and she looked on with pride as he presented the prestigious Fellowship accolade to American filmmaker, Thelma Schoonmaker, and also announced that the organisation is making a number of changes to “support new talent”.
William, 36, said: “Catherine and I are delighted again to join you this evening as we part with another amazing year in film. BAFTA is known for achieving excellence and championing creativity, but at its heart it is an organisation that inspires and nurtures exceptional talent.
“I am a passionate supporter of BAFTA and I couldn’t be more proud of its ambitious plans to dramatically increase the support for new talent over the coming years.
“To make this happen, BAFTA is completely developing its flagship headquarters and I would like to thank all of those who are so generously supporting this project. In doing so you are ensuring that creative talent from all backgrounds has the opportunity to shine. Tonight’s nominees and winners are a true testament to BAFTA’s dedication to finding and supporting that talent.”

Letitia Wright’s deep depression

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright spoke of how she nearly quit acting due to a “deep depression” as she picked up the Rising Star Award at the EE British Academy Film Awards.
The ‘Black Panther’ star took home the honour at the annual awards ceremony, which took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night (10.02.19).
Speaking to accept her prize, she said: “A few years ago I saw myself in a deep depression and I wanted to quit acting. The only thing that pulled me out of that was God, my belief, my family, and an email from BAFTA telling me they wanted me to be a part of BAFTA Breakthrough Brits and it inspired me to keep going. I’m still a work in progress. I want to encourage young people – matter of fact you don’t even have to be young – anybody that is going through a hard time, God made you and you’re important. Let your light shine.”
The 25-year-old actress beat fellow nominees Barry Keoghan, Cynthia Erivo, Jessie Buckley and Lakeith Stanfield to the crown.
When Letitia was nominated for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award, she admitted it “meant a lot” to be nominated among “so many talented actors”.
She said: “I would like to thank both BAFTA and the jury from the bottom of my heart for putting me forward for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award – it’s a huge honour and a fantastic category to be nominated for, especially as the winner is decided by film fans at home.”
Letitia has opened up about her depression in the past, admitting she was “depressed and full of anxiety” before she found fame.
She explained: “I was depressed and full of anxiety. I think it was that pressure to be accepted, to be somebody. When you’re looking outside of yourself for happiness and validation, a mean comment on social media can wreck you. I was OK when I was on set, hiding behind my work, but when I wasn’t acting I was full of fear and doubt, trying to fill this void inside of me any way I could: drinking, smoking. It was bad.”

Danniella Westbrook enters recovery house

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook has started her stint in a recovery house to tackle her cocaine addiction.
The 45-year-old actress’ close pal Jeremy Kyle has paid for her to spend three months in rehab and, on Sunday (10.02.19), Danniella’s agent posted a video of the former ‘EastEnders’ star on Twitter from the facility.
In the update, Danniella – who was wearing a West Ham United sports top – said she is “doing well” and had been to the supermarket and cooked Sunday lunch for the other patients in her recovery house, and was getting ready to attend a Cocaine Anonymous meeting.
In the short clip, which was captioned, “Update sent to agent to pass on x (sic)”, she said: “Hi, everything is good with me.
“Umm, I’ve just cooked a massive roast dinner for everyone in my recovery house because we are all in houses on the grounds and stuff, so that’s good, and for my support workers and stuff.
“I went to Aldi’s today with my councillor and support worker and went and bought the food and that.
“Umm, I’m just keeping you updated.
“Thank you all for your love and support.
“I’m doing well.
“I’m just going to jump in the shower cause’ I’m stinking of roast chicken and go off to a CA (Cocaine Anonymous) meeting.
“But everything is good.
“Sending you loads of love and hope you are all well.
“Good night, enjoy your Sunday, goodbye everyone.”
Danniella’s update comes after it was reported that she had been kicked out of her home for refusing to pay her rent for eight months.
The television personality moved into the home in Essex in June 2018, but has not been paying her rent and now owes £5,000.
She was due to be evicted from the house next week, but voluntarily left the property last week after TV star Jeremy paid for her to enter rehab.
A source told The Sun Online: “Danniella is believed to have paid her first month of rent up front but failed to pay anything after that.
“It has taken a number of months to get her out of the property and it seems she only left when Jeremy Kyle offered to get her help.
“It’s been quite a shock for neighbours because it’s a nice area and there’s never normally any trouble with people renting there.”
Danniella appeared on ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ on Friday (08.02.19) where she broke down in tears and confessed to relapsing and taking a “line of gear” eight weeks ago, before admitting that if she could, she would go back to taking “11 bags a day”.
Speaking about the abuse she has received for her cocaine addiction from trolls, she told Jeremy: “I only take coke, I don’t take anything else. But I am unhappy, Jeremy.
“And I’m sick of getting bullied by people … and I try my best, you know what I was 14 years clean. I could walk down Oxford Street with Jesus strapped to my back you know and people would still say ‘cokehead’.
“I could resurrect God and people would still say ‘cokehead’, because that’s the way it is.”
On how much cocaine she had consumed over the past two months, she said: “Not a lot, a 40 – half a gram. Maybe once a week. Listen, if I had the money, I would be back to where I used to be – doing 11 bags a day. I’ll be straight up honest with you, I would.”

Sarah Ferguson: Much of social media is a sewer line

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson has branded much of social media a “sewer line”.
The Duchess of York has penned an open letter as part of HELLO! Magazine’s #HelloToKindness campaign about the positive and negative impact apps such as Twitter and Instagram can have on society.
The 59-year-old television personality – who was previously married to Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, with whom she has daughters Princess Beatrice, 30, and Princess Eugenie, 28 – has admitted that whilst it’s a “force of good” for young people to have access to information at the click of a button and express their opinions online, it’s important that people think before they post anything.
She wrote: “IN so many ways, the internet has been a force for good.
It enables us to keep in touch with friends and family all across the world.
“Our children can access the sum total of human knowledge at the touch of a button, wherever they are.
And social media means anyone can have a public platform to express their views, keep in touch with whatever sort of news they are interested in and develop relationships that would never have been possible before.”
Sarah says that many parents are worried about how much time their children are spending online and called on them and everyone else to “confront” the issue “head on”.
She continued: “Many parents worry, however, about how much time their children spend online.
“This generation of children has been dubbed ‘the phigitals’, because they are the first to draw no real distinction between the physical and the digital worlds.
“On average, children are spending nearly five hours a day in front of a screen – not much less than adults who typically clock up six hours gazing at smartphones, tablets and work computers.
That means we need to pay more attention than ever to what we’re all being exposed to online.
“It’s time to confront head on the fact that much of social media has become a sewer. ”
The author also confessed that social media “terrifies” her and that she doesn’t read any of the comments on her posts because she is aware there are trolls out there.
She added: “I’m on Twitter and Instagram, and I’m grateful for the fact that they allow me to communicate directly with people who are interested, promote my charitable causes and let people read my own words rather than someone else’s slant on them.
“But the truth is, a lot about these sites terrifies me.
“I rarely if ever go ‘below the line’ on social media or news websites and read people’s comments.
“I know that a lot say nice things, but there’s a large minority who seem to think that all the normal rules of society don’t apply to the internet.
“Take a look at any website, and you’ll see extraordinarily abusive comments aimed not only at people in the public eye but also other internet users.
“Bullying, sniping, bitching, even the most appalling sexism, racism and homophobia are commonplace – it seems that online, anything goes.”
Sarah joins the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Ronan and Storm Keating and Liam Payne in offering their support via the hashtag #HelloToKindness, and the initiative has now been tabled in Parliament.
HELLO! states that: “An early day motion put forward by Layla Moran, Liberal Democrat MP for Oxford West and Abingdon, requests the House of Commons to support HELLO! magazine’s #HelloToKindness campaign and praises the campaign for supporting kindness in an effort to combat the growing problem of online abuse.”
Layla met with the publication’s Editor-in-Chief Rosie Nixon and is “fully behind” the campaign, adding: “A little kindness is needed everywhere right now.”
The motion “congratulates the campaign for standing up to abuse that occurs on social media platforms in an attempt to promote a more positive, welcoming environment online, commends the campaign for garnering large public and celebrity support in calling for less abuse and more kindness online; and calls on the Government to work with social media companies, schools and civil society to further the aims of campaigns like #HelloToKindness”.

Offset shares video of Cardi B giving birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Offset has shared video footage of Cardi B giving birth to their daughter Kulture.
The Migos star used a clip from the hospital room, which sees his wife pushing out their little girl, who was born on July 10, 2018, as he stood by her bedside.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker can be heard letting out a deafening scream as she delivered their first child, before it ends with the rapper standing near to the door of the room with a seemingly concerned look on his face.
The video was part of a promo for Offset’s new solo album and documentary, which will be released on February 22.
Alongside the Instagram clip, he captioned the post: “A L B U M : 2-22-19
D O C U M E N T A R Y: 2-22-19 (sic)”
The video also has footage of Offset in the recording studio and him FaceTiming his son in a car.
The solo record was originally set for release on February 14, but was delayed after Cardi and Offset briefly split up.
The “playlist” is set to address Offset’s car crash in May and his marriage.
He said previously: “I’m not really talking too much about Pateks and Lambos because it’s not relatable. “That’s almost like bubblegum rap now, how the people are accepting it. They just get two days of playing it, then it’s over with. This can last and people can feel it .. I’m really pushing my album to be a playlist and not an album, because a playlist is consistently being played for moves, exercises, and different things.”
On the same day the album promo was shared on social media, Cardi was joined on stage by her husband when she picked up the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
The pair showed just how inseparable they are once again when he accompanied her to the podium at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre as she accepted the accolade for her LP ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
Cardi was visibly emotional as she took to the stage and she joked: “Ooh the nerves are so bad. Maybe I need to start smoking weed!”
The ‘I Like It’ hitmaker went on to pay tribute to her seven-month-old daughter and those who pushed her to complete the record during her pregnancy.
She said: “I want to thank my daughter. I’m not just saying thank you because she’s my daughter. It’s because, you know, when I found out I was pregnant, my album was not complete.
“I had like, three songs that I was for sure having — you know how it was. We was like, ‘We have to get this album done so I could shoot the videos while I’m still not showing. It was very long nights.”
The rapper ended her speech by praising her spouse.
She said: “He was like ‘you gonna have this baby, and you gonna make this album.’ ”

Glenn Close praises Me Too movement

OHMYGOSSIP — Glenn Close says the Me Too movement brings another dimension to ‘The Wife’.
The 71-year-old actress and team behind the critically-acclaimed movie could never have predicted how the movie had fitted in so well with the current movement against sexual harassment in Hollywood.
Speaking on the red carpet at the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday night (10.02.19), she said: “That’s another thing you just can’t plan because we filmed it in the fall of 2016 and it was held for a year by Sony and meanwhile, the Me Too movement started up and all these issues around women and all that. This movie just adds to that dialogue.”
Whilst her co-star Jonathan Pryce joked that “any sympathy” for the husband – which he plays in the movie – had just “melted away overnight”.
And Glenn was full of praise for Jonathan and his work in the movie.
She added: “I have to say that Jonathan breaks my heart in this film. It is a complicit relationship they have and it’s something they kind of slip into and I have to say, the whole sequence at the Nobel prize, what you did was so profound and heartbreaking. It’s incredible.”
Meanwhile, Glenn previously revealed she hopes her part in ‘The Wife’ will encourage studios to make more women-centric movies.
She said: “I’ve been a part of two films that took 14 years to make. The first one was ‘Albert Nobbs’ and the second was ‘The Wife’. It was actually hard to find actors who wanted to be in a movie called ‘The Wife’. It’s two women writers. And, you know, starring a woman. No one wanted to make it and, most of the money, if not all the money, came from Europe.”

“His acting career began in the early 1970s and included a turn in The Godfather, Part II.
“Carmen worked steadily over more than 40 years and was a staple character actor on our televisions throughout that time, including on series such as Cheers, Melrose Place, ER, CSI:NY and many others, while also lending his talents to films both tentpole and intimate.
“To genre fans, he is best known for his role as Jacob Carter/Selmak on the series ‘Stargate SG-1’, a role he relished and recurred in for seven years.
“While Carmen was a client, he was also a good friend.
“While he was a class act and a consummate gentleman at the events he was booked for, he was also a caring and generous person.
“While I had known him for more than a decade, it wasn’t until the past three years as a representative for him that our trust and friendship grew and blossomed.
“He truly treated me like family, and that sentiment was returned.
“Please join me in sending thoughts and prayers to Carmen’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
“Godspeed, my friend. (sic)”
