Lily-Rose Depp’s ‘first’ beauty ‘gift’ was Chanel product

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily-Rose Depp’s first beauty gift was a bag full of Chanel make-up.
The 19-year-old model-and-actress is the face of fragrance Chanel No 5 L’eau and she admits her love affair with brand began when she was a teenager and her singer-and-actress mother Vanessa Paradis gifted her a cosmetic bag filled with beauty products, and that led to her “affinity for lipstick”.
She said: “The first make-up gift that I ever got when I was younger – that my mom got me for my 13th or 14th birthday – was a little Chanel make-up bag filled with Chanel make-up.”
“I’ve always had an affinity for lipstick. I always watched my Mum do her make-up when I was younger, especially on tour. Even when she would have a make-up artist doing her whole look, she would do her lips by herself.”
The ‘Faithful Man’ star – who is also the face of Chanel’s Rouge Coco Gloss – also confessed that she is very fussy with who is applying her lip liner because she knows she is the master at putting on her own lip products.
Speaking to the February issue of Australia’s Vogue magazine, Lily-Rose – whose dad is Hollywood icon Johnny Depp – said: “I’m always very particular about who puts on my lip liner and my lipstick on. It’s always kind of been my thing. I think that it has become so personal. I think it’s good to know that there are certain things that only you know exactly how you want it to be shaped or how you want it to be done. Everybody knows what works best on their own face.”

Claire Holt gets candid about pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Holt feels like her “pelvis is going to split in half” as she gets nearer to her due date.
The ‘Vampire Diaries’ star is expecting her first child with her husband Andrew Joblon – who she tied the knot with in Beverly Hills, California, in August – and has given her fans a candid update on her pregnancy struggles, including feeling like she is being “kicked” in the ribs by a “ninja”, having to go to the toilet “every five minutes” and being couch-bound.
Alongside a picture of her burgeoning baby bump, Claire wrote on Instagram: “I’ve posted plenty of ‘gram worthy shots these past few months but not enough of the real shit. Pregnancy is NO JOKE. This is how I spend 90% of my spare time: couchbound with my belly out. I figured I would be one of those women who popped off her spin bike and popped out a baby – alas, the universe had other plans. My pelvis feels like it’s going to split in half, I have a ninja practicing his roundhouse kicks on my ribs, and the whole needing-to-pee-every-5-mins thing is getting pretttty old (mainly because it takes me 10 mins to get up from the couch)… (sic)”
Claire added that despite the annoying symptoms, she is “so grateful” to be having a “healthy” baby boy after the couple went through a devastating miscarriage, months before they announced their pregnancy in October.
The 30-year-old actress also made a shout out to all of the “badass women” having children.
She added: “I’m so grateful to be carrying a healthy baby, but I am definitely struggling. So, until this little dude decides to join us, you’ll find me here (watching BRAVO), worshipping all the badass women who’ve gone before me. (sic)”
Announcing their pregnancy news on the social media app, Claire wrote: “My heart is bursting. I’m so happy to share with you that we are having a baby! It still doesn’t feel real. These past few months have been filled with excitement, anxiety, tears, joy, uncertainty but most of all gratitude.”
Claire previously admitted that losing her unborn baby was “the darkest moment” of her life.
She said: “You never forget the deep pain of loss. It dims with time but it informs many of your experiences.
“Our loss earlier this year was the darkest moment of my life. Yet, it made me infinitely more thankful for the precious baby growing inside me today.”

Tiffany Haddish wanted to sleep in Salma Hayek’s closet

OHMYGOSSIP — Tiffany Haddish asked to sleep in Salma Hayek’s “amazing closet” at her house in London.
The 39-year-old actress-and-comedian stayed the night with the ‘Grown Ups’ star – who is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault – when she came to the UK, and when Tiffany was being given the grand tour of the property and told to “pick a room” to sleep in she wanted to spend the night in Salma’s Gucci-filled wardrobe.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Tiffany said: “So I shouldn’t tell this, but … When I arrived in London, I was staying at Salma Hayek’s house – she’s my friend now.
“And I get there and her house is like a palace. And she says, ‘OK, pick a room.’ And I’m like, ‘First off, the fact that you tell me to pick a room is, like, amazing.’ Then she shows me her closet and it is the most amazing thing in the world, Gucci, whatever, everything. And I’m, like, ‘I’ll sleep in here!'”
The ‘Girls Trip’ star then got to see Salma and Francois’ 11-year-old daughter Valentina’s old “princess room” and wanted to spend the night in there.
She added: “Then she shows me her daughter’s old bedroom with pink walls, circle bed, unicorn stuff all around. And I’m, like, ‘I’m sleeping in here! I always wanted to be a princess, and this is a princess room!’ ”
Tiffany has also opened up on the importance of being true to herself as a person and an artist and her tough upbringing made her determined to always be honest in her life and not “fake”.
She said: “For me, being fake is too exhausting.I think the way I grew up, in different homes, different schools, taught me I’m most comfortable being myself wherever I am. Also, I think being fake shows on people – they get tired, or bitter. Being yourself is easiest. I may be cheating but you know what? It feels good!”

Jess Glynne films Neighbours cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Glynne has filmed a cameo on ‘Neighbours’.
The 29-year-old singer made the most of her time in Australia, where she is currently on a promotional tour, by stopping by the set and shooting a scene with Ramsay Street stalwart Stefan Dennis – who plays Paul Robinson – and rising star Bonnie Anderson (Bea Nilsson) in a scene which will air in the coming months.
Jess said: “I’ve been watching ‘Neighbours’ since I was a little kid, I grew up with up it, it was always there so it’s a very surreal experience to be here on the set and be actually acting.
“My family are so, so excited I’m doing it, it’s a huge moment for them.
“It’s one of those things that I just couldn’t ever imagine doing so I have really had a bucket list moment and to be able to sing on the show is amazing. It was also great to meet the cast.”
Fellow musician and ‘Neighbours’ star Alan Fletcher, who plays Dr Karl Kennedy, was delighted to see Jess on set.
He added: “One the best things about our job is we get some amazing guests like Jess dropping in.”
Jess is not the only music act to have popped up in Erinsborough over the years.
Lily Allen appeared as herself on the show in 2009, as did The Wombats in the same year, and Emma Bunton, Sinitta, and Paula Abdul have all made cameos Down Under.
Two of the most famous singers to have appeared in ‘Neighbours’ did so before they had launched music careers.
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan initially shot to fame on the show as lovebirds Charlene and Scott Robinson before taking to the stage.
What’s more, Natalie Imbruglia appeared as Beth Brennan in ‘Neighbours’ in the early 90s, and began a singing career after leaving the soap.

Sir Elton John is writing track for Rocketman

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John is writing a new song for the ‘Rocketman’ biopic.
The 71-year-old legend is penning a fresh track alongside long-time writing partner Bernie Taupin for the upcoming musical drama which follows Elton – played by Taron Egerton – from his years at the Royal Academy of Music as he chases stardom.
According to The Daily Mail, the talented pair are yet to record the untitled track, but if the film’s director, Dexter Fletcher, and Paramount studios like the number, the song will be used over the flick’s end credits.
The prolific duo have collaborated on many of the star’s hugely-successful songs over the years after Taupin became Elton’s primary lyricist, Taupin penning the words for the likes of ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘I’m Still Standing’ and ‘Candle In The Wind’.
In the flick, ‘Fantastic Four’ star Jamie Bell portrays Taupin alongside ‘The Bodyguard’s’ Richard Madden – who plays Elton’s manager and former lover John Reid – and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother.
Dexter Fletcher is directing the film from a script by Lee Hall and Elton’s Rocket Pictures will produce with Marv Films and Matthew Vaughn.
Leading man Taron previously admitted he was relishing the challenge of playing the iconic musician.
The actor – who starred in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ – also confirmed he’ll be performing some of Elton’s best-known hits during the course of the film.
Speaking in 2017, he shared: “I’m going to be playing Elton John in a musical. I’m really excited to talk about it. It’s something that I’ve been so, so excited about.
“Elton’s production company and Matthew Vaughn’s production company – who made ‘Kingsman’ – are planning a musical, fantasy, not quite biopic, about the early years of Elton John. It’s going to feature his songs and I’m going to do the old acting and singing.”
‘Rocketman’ will hit cinemas on May 31, 2019.

Chaka Khan: Prince’s death was wake-up call to get help

OHMYGOSSIP — Chaka Khan says Prince’s death was a wake-up call to get help for her own addictions.
The Queen of Funk – whose biggest hit ‘I Feel For You’ was written by the late singer – revealed that finding out he had died from an overdose in April 2016 made her realise she had to make changes in her own life.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she added: “I’ve had problems to deal with. I had to get my home life and my life straight.”
She was battling an addiction to prescription medication at the time, and the 65-year-old star credited her faith with giving her the strength to overcome her demons.
She said: “When I was in rehab a few years ago, I got through it with my faith.
“I made up a prayer which I say before I go to bed and first thing when I wake up in the morning. My strong faith has helped me get through it.”
Chaka’s new album ‘Hello Happiness’ acts as a fresh start for the star, with it being her first LP since 2007’s ‘Funk This’.
She explained: “It’s important I make new music. I love it. I’m sick of singing ‘I Feel For You’. I just die every time I sing it but I have to. So I’m happy about these new songs. They’re cool.”
As well as the 1984 track, Chaka and Prince had other plans of collaborating together, including ambitions for their own record label.
She explained: “Prince and I had plans of having a label together but things didn’t quite work out.
“It was going to be him, myself and Miles Davis, and we were also going to do an album together. I have no doubt we will do one in heaven.”

The Grand Tour trio rake in £82,000 a day

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Grand Tour’ stars earned £82k a day during series two of the show.
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond set up W. Chump and Sons Limited together with producer Andy Williams and the financial reports filed to Companies House revealed that their total turnover last year was £30.6million with total profit reaching £2.3million.
According to the Daily Star, a formal statement attached to the report explained: “The profit was driven by the television programming produced during the period ended 31 December 2017.
“The directors are keen to continue focusing on producing quality programmes whilst ensuring that the company’s overheads remain stable.”
The company put out £26.5m in sales costs, which means it spent roughly £2.4m on each episode of season two of the Amazon show.
As the four company directors had such profitable year, they were able to pay themselves an impressive £150,000 salary.
Following its huge success, ‘The Grand Tour’ looks set to continue to season five and beyond.
The show’s trio of presenters have hinted the Amazon programme could potentially keep motoring on until at least a fifth series, after admitting they have signed up to carry on “for a few more years yet”.
Jeremy previously said: “We’re delighted to say Amazon have asked us to do more.
“When we finished three we talked to Amazon and they said, ‘Oh no we’d be delighted,’ and they seemed to love us so consequently you’ve got us for a few more years yet.”

Woman voiced Dalek for first time on New Year’s Day Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — A woman voiced a Dalek for the first time in 66 years on the New Year’s Day special of ‘Doctor Who’.
While filming the episode entitled ‘Resolution’ – which aired on January 1 rather than the traditional festive timeslot on December 25 – show bosses used a female assistant on set because veteran voiceover star Nicholas Briggs was unavailable at the time, but the BBC added his vocals in the final edit so unfortunately the lady Dalek was never heard by fans on-screen.
According to the Daily Star, bosses used a woman assistant on set to shout “exterminate” repeatedly when the classic sci-fi monster appeared in scenes with Jodie Whittaker.
The 36-year-old actress stepped into the iconic role for her first series in the last year – following on from Peter Capaldi’s incarnation of the Time Lord – and previously gushed she is glad to have made history.
She said: “I’ve never walked round thinking, ‘I’m a girl in this situation’ – [though] there have been times where I’ve realised that there may have been some doors that were at a different angle to me, because of being a woman.
“I suppose playing the Doctor, because it’s an alien, and because the Doctor has two hearts, it means you don’t need any qualifications, you just need to go like that [gesturing outwards, with open arms] and that can be boy or girl.
“I think we knew that, but it’s wonderful to be the first person in a position to really say, ‘See? We can do it!’ ”
It has been confirmed that the next series of ‘Doctor Who’ – which will see Jodie return alongside Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole – will not return until 2020.

Call the Midwife’s Stephen McGann wants film adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen McGann wants to make a ‘Call the Midwife’ film.
The 56-year-old actor – who plays Dr. Patrick Turner in the hit BBC drama which tells the tales of the lives of a group of midwives living in East London in the late 1950s to early 1960s – revealed he is all for the show getting a big screen spin-off.
Stephen appeared on ‘This Morning’ today (08.02.19) and joked: “People are starting to talk about a film. The first answer to that was, anyone who wants to come along and make me a film star, they could come along.
“As long as it is kind of ‘Doctor Turner: The Movie’ it will be fine. They can come in for a little part around me that will be fine.”
Stephen – who is married to the popular show’s creator Heidi Thomas – insisted the couple do not interfere with each other’s professional work despite being on the same show, but admitted they do share the moment when he receives new scripts.
He said: “We have a certain unspoken thing. I don’t look over her shoulder as she writes. She doesn’t look at the way I do lines or whatever.
“There’s only one thing we share. And that’s when I get the script with everybody else and then she gets really nervous because she knows I am reading the script for the first time. She hangs around outside the bedroom door.
“And there was one brilliant moment where I came out of the bedroom. She wants to know if I laugh at the funny bits, cry at the sad bits. And I came out tears streaming down my face one day and she was chuffed!”
‘Call The Midwife’ airs Sundays at 8pm on BBC One.

Jennifer Garner proud to work with female directors

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner thinks sets where women are in charge are “different”.
The ’13 Going On 30′ star says it can make a difference “whoever is leading the charge” on a movie and it is “reflected in the way the ship is run”.
Speaking to the Time’s Up CEO Lisa Borders at the 2019 Makers Conference, she said: “To me, I’ve done two films with women, and a TV show driven by women and directed mostly by women, so I feel like oh is it a challenge? Oh yeah, no I’m down, I’ve got that. I didn’t know that we had to announce it. I announce that I will take the 4 per cent challenge. And you know what, those sets are different. They are different … Whoever is leading the charge it’s reflected in the crew, it’s reflected in the way the ship is run and just the difference kinds of conversations you have on set.”
The 4 per cent challenge aims to get more women into the film industry and encourage studios to hire more female directors and crew.
Jennifer has had a number of differing roles over the year but for her latest movie, she learned MMA, gun and knife skills to star as Riley in the action revenge movie ‘Peppermint’.
Speaking about her training for the movie, she said: “I’ve been training for a while on this. I did MMA skills, gun skills, knife skills. It was the connection to the physical that made me kind of understand her fight for her daughter.”

Khloe Kardashian wants to be selfish

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian wants to be “selfish” and spend more time with her daughter.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star adores her little girl True so much and fumed at her sisters during a blazing row, where she insisted she’d happily be “selfish” to be with True.
In an argument with her siblings, as shown in a preview for the upcoming series of the E! reality show, she said: “I can be selfish and spend all my time with me and my daughter. I don’t even have to be here.”
Meanwhile, Khloe previously admitted her daughter has made her feel like she can “do anything”.
She shared: “My favourite part about being a mom, I mean it’s so corny, but it’s just like, no matter how tired you are, it’s complete bliss, no matter what. I mean, Christmas Day, I was so hungover and I was like, ‘How am I gonna get through this day?’ And just when you see your baby, and how happy [she is], you just get through it. I was like, ‘OK, I feel like I can do anything. I could do this.’ It’s just the best, and the love that you get and that you also get to give and receive … it’s just, it’s beautiful.”
The 34-year-old television personality admitted being a parent has given her a new perspective on life.
She added: “It’s so much more fun [to see the world through her eyes]. Our lives, they get busy and things get heavy, and then to see the innocence of a child, I just always [lighten up]. I think also motherhood just puts life into perspective and what’s important to you. I think you just reevaluate things, like, ‘I don’t want to do that tonight.’ And it’s OK to say no, so I can spend time with my family.”

Katy Perry is a different person now

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry is “such a different person” than she was a decade ago.
The ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker feels she has “pushed her limits” so much since she turned 30 and has also become more “tolerant and accepting”.
She said: “I’m just such a different person than I was [in my 20s]. Not such a different person – the foundation was always there. I’ve always been hella sarcastic, always the black sheep, always thought outside the box … [but] whereas I used to think things were too scary or not for me, now I’ve pushed my limits in all of that. I’m really more tolerant and accepting. It’s really just your 30s. I love them so much.”
The 34-year-old singer made the bold decision to cut her hair short and says it left her feeling “exposed” as she could no longer hide behind her long locks.
She added: “Changing my hair definitely was the biggest physical transformation I have experienced as a woman. When you don’t have long hair, you really can’t hide behind it. Everything is exposed.”
Katy has enjoyed her fame over the years but admits towards the early days of her career, she was so focused on her work goals that she had no “grasp on reality”.
Speaking to Paper magazine for its Spring 2019 Transformation issue, she explained: “I didn’t really have any grasp on reality. I was just working so much. After I got off a tour, I’d go straight into the studio, blah, blah, blah … Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew, but I ended up swallowing well … I’ve rung the bell of being the ‘biggest pop star ever’ so many times. I know how to command the attention of a lot of people for two hours, but I didn’t know you have to put salt in the water when you cook.”
