Jess Glynne cancels BRITs Week conceert

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Glynne has axed her BRITs Week show after doctors put her on vocal rest.
The 26-year-old singer was due to perform at War Child’s BRITs Week Together event next week but has been forced to cancel after receiving medical advice.
A message on War Child’s official Twitter page stated: “We’re so sorry to tell you @JessGlynne’s show for #BRITsWeek together with @O2music is being postponed due to her being on strict vocal rest.
“The show will now take place on May 22nd at @o2sbe. All original tickets will remain valid. Get well soon Jess!”
And Jess wrote: “I’m really sorry that I have to move this show.
“I hope you understand that I must look after my health and the doctor has told me to rest so I have to do so. I’ll be back in May to do this show and I promise it will be worth the wait.”
Jess has been nominated for four BRIT awards; Best Female Solo Artist, Best British Video of the Year for her ‘These Days’ collaboration with Rudimental, Macklemore and Dan Caplen and British Single of the Year for ‘I’ll Be There’ and ‘These Days’.
Jess has previously had two operations on her vocal cords and insisted she will do everything possible to avoid another one.
She said previously: “I will never let that happen. I can’t afford to let that happen. Honestly, I couldn’t have another operation. One, I don’t want to go through it. And two, my voice is already… it’s not weak but it’s not as strong as a normal person’s. So to have another operation over scar tissue would just result in weaker and weaker muscle. I can’t let it happen.”

Bond 25 release date pushed back

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Bond 25’ release date has been pushed back.
The upcoming James Bond movie – starring Daniel Craig as the suave super spy – was originally due to be released on February 14, 2020, but it has now been postponed until April 8, 2020, MGM has announced.
Cary Fukunaga is directing the movie, which is expected to be Daniel’s final outing as James Bond.
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes, and Lea Seydoux will all return for ‘Bond 25’.
Lea, 33, portrayed Bond girl Dr Madeleine Swann in 2015 movie ‘Spectre’, and she looks set to reprise her role after support from Craig – and Fukanaga.
Cary said: “Lea will be returning.”
And speaking about the British trio, the director added: “You have some of the best actors in the world here. Why wouldn’t I have the best coming back?”
In ‘Spectre’, Seydoux’s psychologist alter-ego Swann got hot and steamy with Bond in the freezing Austrian Alps.
She is the daughter of Mr. White – played by Jesper Christensen – and helped the spy identify the criminal and terrorist company SPECTRE.
Fukunaga was named as the hotly-anticipated movie’s new director in September, after Danny Boyle walked away from the project over “creative differences”.
Producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said at the time: “We are delighted to be working with Cary.
“His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure.”
Boyle’s decision to depart the project was announced on the movie’s official Twitter page in August.
The post read: “Michael G Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25 (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Cohen has been taking parenting tips from the cast of the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise.
The 50-year-old TV star – who serves as an executive producer of the franchise – welcomed a son called Benjamin into the world on February 4, and Andy has revealed he’s since been relying on the ‘Real Housewives’ stars for advice.
Andy – who had his son via a surrogate – explained: “The ‘Housewives’ have given me a lot of advice.
“All their mom instincts came out. As loud and funny and aggressive and wild and dramatic and everything you want to say about the ‘Housewives’, as much of all that as they are, they’re all moms, pretty much. And they’re all good moms.”
Andy – who revealed he was preparing to become a dad in December – admitted the support of the TV stars has been “lovely”.
He told People: “They all really surrounded me and just wanted to protect me and help me in the sweetest, most humane and lovely way that has just continued to really tickle me.
“They’ve all been so lovely.”
Andy has also received help and support from some of his big-name celebrity friends, including Kelly Ripa and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host said: “Kelly Ripa helped me find my baby nurse, who’s incredible.
“Sarah Jessica sat with me for three hours on a Saturday and helped me do my registry. And she lent me clothes and burp cloths that she had saved from her kids.

Jenna Coleman ‘felt like Billy Elliot’ after drama school rejection

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Coleman felt like Billy Elliot after being rejected by a drama school.
The 32-year-old actress was cast in the British soap ‘Emmerdale’ in 2005 whilst she was auditioning for various drama schools, but Jenna admitted that one particular rejection left her feeling like the aspiring dancer in the Stephen Daldry-directed film.
Asked about her biggest disappointment, Jenna shared: “Receiving a letter saying I didn’t get into drama school. I felt like Billy Elliot. It was a crushing moment.”
On the other hand, Jenna revealed the period following her exit from ‘Emmerdale’ in 2009 was one of the happiest times of her life.
The brunette beauty – who subsequently starred in ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Me Before You’ – found the lack of certainty in her career to be a source of excitement.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “There was a moment in my early 20s when I’d finished ‘Emmerdale’ and didn’t know what was next.
“I drove from LA to San Francisco listening to Tracy Chapman and it felt like one of those pure moments of uncomplicated joy.”
In 2018, Jenna argued there’s a “void” of good roles for actresses.
The ‘Victoria’ star acknowledged that progress has been made, but also stressed that more needs to be done to tackle inequality within the entertainment industry.
She said: “I think this year has proved there’s an active interest in seeing a spectrum reflected back at you, rather than a stereotype, and people at the top realising that will sell and that’s what people want.
“But I do think there’s still a way to go – if you’re not playing the young girl or the mum or the older lady, there’s quite a void in roles for women.”

Meg Ryan: Being ‘a million years old’ is freeing

OHMYGOSSIP — Meg Ryan thinks “being a million years old” is freeing.
The 57-year-old actress got engaged to musician John Mellencamp in November, and she’s admitted to loving the freedom that comes with getting engaged in her 50s.
Meg – who split from John in 2015, before they rekindled their romance – shared: “What’s great about now is that John and I are so free to have fun.
“Maybe that freedom is about being a million years old. But I sometimes think relationships are for aliens. Who does it? Who can do it? I don’t know how any of us ever do.”
Aside from her wedding, Meg is also busy writing a new rom-com.
But the Hollywood star – who made her directorial debut with ‘Ithaca’ in 2015 – admitted she didn’t want to reveal too many details about the project because she feared “jinxing it”.
She told the New York Times newspaper: “You feel like you’re jinxing it if you’re talking about it.
“Hopefully it’s for me to direct. I’m aware now that romantic comedies are confections, but they have construction. There’s architecture.”
Meanwhile, in December, John claimed Meg is the funniest woman he’s ever met.
The loved-up duo confirmed their engagement on social media, and John subsequently heaped praise on his “funny” fiancee.
He said: “I’m engaged at 67 to a very funny woman. Funniest woman I’ve ever met.”
The pair have had ups and down during their relationship, but John thinks they’re now finally ready to get married.
Asked about their previous relationship struggles, John confessed: “I’m probably not the easiest guy to get along with. So let’s leave it at that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nico Tortorella drank Hilary Duff’s breast milk during a table read for the new season of ‘Younger’.
The 30-year-old actor has posted a video on Instagram in which he appears to drink Hilary’s breast milk from a cup during preparations for season six of the comedy-drama series.
He says during the clip: “I’m for real doing this right now.”
And after appearing to take a sip of the breast milk, he adds: “Mmm … Oh my God, it is delicious!”
Hilary, 31 – who has kids Luca, six, and three-month-old Banks – responds: “You’re a sicko, dude.”
But Nico subsequently asks: “Can I have some more?”
Earlier this year, Hilary admitted she doesn’t “leave the house” now she’s a mother of two.
The actress confessed that she and her partner Matthew Koma are finding it hard to unwind now they’re responsible for two children.
Hilary said: “I don’t leave the house anymore these days, I don’t know what to say. We feel good, we’re like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s past our bedtime. We’re out and we’re raging, what is this?’
“I mean, our baby is 10 weeks old and I obviously have a six-year-old too, so we’re, like, full parents right now.”
The ‘Younger’ star couldn’t be happier, though, as she says her son Luca is “really sweet” around his younger sister, especially after discovering the tot is suffering with colic.
She explained: “[Luca’s] really sweet, he’s constantly, like, wanting to hold her little face.
“It’s really nice, you know, he’s very helpful and she is a colic baby so that’s been a little stressful. But I think we’re on the tail end of it which is very exciting, but it’s been great.”

“Honestly, it opened up so many other doors. So it definitely had a huge impact and having my life out there helped me, helped the movie, too, because my life is being put on the big screen.”

Cheryl loses two acts on The Greatest Dancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl has seen two of her acts eliminated from ‘The Greatest Dancer’ at the semi-final stage.
The 35-year-old pop star – who serves as a Dance Captain on the BBC show – has lost Frobacks, the four-piece group from London, and Dane Bates Collective just before the final.
The elimination of the two acts means that next week’s final will be contested by KLA, Ellie, Harry & Eleiyah, and James & Oliver, all of whom did enough to survive for another week.
Earlier in the show, Oti Mabuse – who is another of the Dance Captains – was reduced to tears by KLA’s performance.
Oti, 28, admitted to being overcome with emotion after she watched them perform.
She said: “It’s only because I know how hard it is, and I know how hard they’ve worked. We’ve been in the studio … I’m sorry.
“I get so nervous when KLA dances because I know they can sometimes get overwhelmed by everyone.
“They don’t do flips and they can’t stand on their heads and do the jumping jacks that everyone can do. But they dance and they deliver, Latin and Ballroom.
“Girls I’m so proud of you, because you come out, you learn new dances in two days, you push yourselves and you use those umbrellas! I love you, never forget that.”
The episode also saw Pasha Kovalev dance alongside his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-stars for the final time.

The 24-year-old model has revealed she’s fulfilled a long-held ambition by appearing in the pages of the iconic magazine issue, which has previously featured the likes of Elle Macpherson and Kate Upton.
Winnie – who was diagnosed with the skin condition vitiligo at the age of four – said: “Being able to say that I am in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue is an absolute dream that I never thought would come true.
“As a little girl from Canada, it was hard to imagine growing up that I could be just like the gorgeous women that I saw on billboards, on the runway and in any magazine.
“There are certain milestones in a model’s career that just make you feel like you have truly succeeded when they happen, and making my SI Swim debut is one of those huge moments. It’s a complete honour not just as a model, but as a woman of colour with vitiligo.”
Winnie said being the first model with the skin condition to feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue represents a milestone for the industry.
She told People: “I’m so excited for people to see vitiligo be put under such a beautiful, sexy light and prove that our bodies can be celebrated. And this goes for all body types and conditions. We’re redefining the swimsuit body.”

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem don’t want to work together ‘all the time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Penelope Cruz doesn’t want to work with Javier Bardem “all of the time”.
The Oscar-winning actress and Javier – who have been married since 2010 – worked together on the drama movie ‘Everybody Knows’, but Penelope insisted they’ll only collaborate “when it makes perfect sense”.
Asked what she enjoys about working with her husband, the brunette beauty explained: “Well, there is a lot of trust and there is a similar way of working, so of course, it’s a great experience.
“But it’s not something we want to do, all of the time, even if it’s more convenient. We’ll only do it when it makes perfect sense, like in this piece or ‘Loving Pablo’.”
In the Asghar Farhadi-directed movie, Penelope’s character and Javier’s are not actually together.
But Penelope, 44 – who previously starred alongside her husband in ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ – admitted it didn’t change how she approached the role.
Penelope – who has kids Luna, five, and Leo, eight, with Javier – told Collider: “We didn’t look at it differently because they were not a actual couple, in present time. What I like is that the characters are so different from ‘Loving Pablo’.
“We were, in no way, doing similar things, and that was one of the things that made us say yes. And we have similar ways of seeing the work. We even have the same acting coach, and a similar way to prepare. It’s not that everything is the same, but we understand each other’s process. So, once in awhile, it’s something we would like to do.”

She told People: “It definitely felt like the closing of a chapter – a way of celebrating the life he had made for himself and the new life that he was making.”
Earlier this month, Andy acknowledged he will be “forever indebted” to his surrogate.
The ‘Watch What Happens Live’ presenter – who is the first openly gay host of an American late-night talk show – praised the “incredible” woman who gave him the “ultimate gift” of becoming a dad.
He said: “[I] worked with an organisation that helps you find the egg donor and the surrogate, and you kind of package the whole process.
“I worked with an incredible surrogate. She was in California. Surrogacy is illegal in so many states, including New York. I don’t understand why. It’s a voluntary process, obviously.
“My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life. So I’ll be forever indebted to her.”

Jenna Coleman recalls sandwich-related embarrassment

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Coleman’s most embarrassing moment centred around a sandwich.
The 32-year-old actress – who has been dating fellow actor Tom Hughes since 2016 – has admitted she once confused a sandwich discount offer at a train station for someone asking her out on a date.
Speaking to the Guardian newspaper, Jenna – who previously dated Richard Madden from 2011 until 2015 – recalled: “Buying a sandwich at Leeds train station … The man said to me: ‘Do you want to go for a drink?’ I said, ‘I am so sorry, I’ve got a boyfriend.’ And he replied, ‘No, it’s a meal deal: if you take a sandwich, you can get a drink as well.'”
Jenna previously revealed that in spite of her success, she’s keen to take a step back from fame.
The brunette beauty appreciates that some aspects of her life are not “real”.
She said: “I did a world tour with [‘Doctor Who’ co-star] Peter Capaldi, which is a hilarious sentence in itself, and we’d turn up in Rio de Janeiro or Mexico and there’d be screaming people.
“But you have to go into it knowing it’s not real, so you dip in and have this amazing life experience, I think that’s the only healthy way. I don’t think it’s a very normal thing to be on red carpets with photographers – you have to remove yourself a little bit.”
Jenna is also grateful that she’s getting to live out her long-held dreams.
She shared: “From really early on it just felt right, it fitted. I loved to watch films and my head was always in books and stories. I just had to work out how to do it as my job.”

Downfall star Bruno Ganz dies aged 77

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Downfall’ actor Bruno Ganz has died aged 77.
The Swiss star – who famously played Adolf Hitler in the 2004 drama movie – passed away at his home in Zurich on Friday (15.02.19).
Ganz was also a big name in German-language cinema and theatre, which he combined with English-language roles in movies like ‘The Reader’ and ‘The Manchurian Candidate’.
However, his most globally famous on-screen role was as Hitler in ‘Downfall’, with one particular scene – in which Hitler is seen in a state of fury – subsequently being parodied thousands of times.
The Oliver Hirschbiegel-directed film tells the story of Hitler’s final days and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.
Following the film’s release, Ganz revealed he studied historical records and observed people with Parkinson’s disease – which he believed the Nazi dictator had – in preparation for the role.
Despite this, he admitted he could not “claim to understand Hitler”.
He added: “Even the witnesses who had been in the bunker with him were not really able to describe the essence of the man.
“He had no pity, no compassion, no understanding of what the victims of war suffered.”
Ganz’s last on-screen role was in Lars von Trier’s 2018 movie ‘The House that Jack Built’.
He was also the holder of the Iffland-Ring – which is given to the German-speaking actor judged most significant and worthy – at the time of his death.
The actor was reported to have been diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2018, and is survived by his son, Daniel.

KiKi Layne felt ‘spiritual connection’ to If Beale Street Could Talk

OHMYGOSSIP — KiKi Layne felt a “spiritual” connection to ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’.
The 27-year-old actress was instantly drawn to the character of pregnant Tish – whose boyfriend Fonny (Stephan James) is jailed for a crime he didn’t commit – when she first read the script and felt it was the role she had always been “waiting” for.
She said: “I literally said, ‘It’s me.’ I don’t know what it was about her. It was a very spiritual thing.
“I felt something on the inside, like, ‘That’s it.’ It was what I’d been waiting for.”
And as soon as she started working on the movie, which is directed by Barry Jenkins, Layne and the rest of the team on the project knew it would turn out to be something “special”.
She told Closer magazine: “We all knew we were working on something special. I had never seen a love story like that before: two dark-skinned people in love on screen. That definitely drew me into the story.
“[It offers] so many things that people can connect with. It’s interesting to hear what’s resonating.”
The actress has also had a positive reception for wearing her natural hair in the movie, admitting it has been “affecting people on a very personal level”.
Layne can next be seen in ‘Native Son’, which is based on Richard Wright’s 1940 novel, and while it was another “exciting” project, she’s not sure what will come next, though she’s determined to make “smart” choices.
She said: “It’s important to me what I follow these films up with.
“I’m going to be smart and I’m really going to take my time. I listen to my spirit when it comes to picking roles. If I don’t feel that thing on the inside, I’m not going to do it. So far, it’s led me down a great path.”
