Prince celebrated with social media pages and GIFs

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince’s estate has launched social media accounts for the late music legend to celebrate his legacy.
The ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker’s fans can now check out content about his music and life on Twitter and Instagram by following the username @Prince, which features some of his famous quotes and photography from his career.
The iconic star – who died in April 2016, at the age of 57, from a fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park estate – now has 1,700 GIFs made by GIPHY, moving images that can be used by fans, which showcase each decade of his 40-year career.
As well as the official pages for Prince, @PRNlegacy, on both Twitter and Instagram has been created as an archive for all things about the ‘Raspberry Beret’ singer.
The late star’s posthumous presence on social media comes after more music from his famous vault and back catalogue was released by The Prince Estate and Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
Fans can now purchase three full-length Prince albums, ‘Musicology’, ‘3121’ and ‘Planet Earth’, on psychical disc and vinyl for the first time.
23 albums by Prince were also added to all major streaming services last summer.
The ‘Kiss’ hitmaker had pulled all of his music from Spotify and Apple Music in 2015 leaving it only on Jay-Z’s TIDAL platform, before removing it entirely.
His music did return to most streaming services and in August last year, his estate and Legacy/Sony unleashed a raft of rare songs and LPs from the star’s back catalogue, as well as new greatest hits album ‘Prince Anthology: 1995-2010’, which is comprised of songs he recorded in that period.
The Anthology contains 37 of his most influential songs from that period which followed him breaking ties with Warner Bros. Records and it opens with ‘Emancipation’, the title track from the seminal 1996 triple album of the same name which celebrated the end of that business relationship.
Over 300 songs were made available to stream online for the first time ever.
Prince was one of the best-selling artists ever, selling more than 100 million records worldwide.
He won eight Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award for the 1984 film ‘Purple Rain’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ms Banks says Nicki Minaj’s public appraisal of her music has made people take notice of her.
The 24-year-old rising London rapper can count both the ‘Chun-Li’ hitmaker and Cardi B as fans, and the ‘Flex N Finesse’ hitmaker says Nicki tweeting her verse on the track ‘Yu Zimme Rmx’, which also features Lisa Mercedez and the original creator of the song, Stylo G, and inviting her to perform with her in 2017, has done wonders for her career with people at home now taking more of an interest in her music.

Lady Gaga’s new tattoo inspired by A Star Is Born

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has debuted a new tattoo inspired by her role in ‘A Star Is Born’.
The singer and actress posted a picture of the tribute to the classic Edith Piaf song ‘La Vie En Rose’ on her Instagram this week and revealed her new spinal cord ink which is inspired by the first scene in the 2018 Bradley Cooper directed flick.
She captioned the photo: “Happy Valentine’s Day. A tattoo toast to “la vie en rose” by the beautiful @winterstone my spinal cord is now a rose.”
The 32-year-old star – who plays Ally in the Oscar-nominated romantic drama – sang Édith Piaf’s signature 1947 song during her first scene in a drag bar in front of Cooper’s character Jackson Maine.
Cooper – who originally wanted to cast Beyoncé for the female lead in the film – previously admitted he was “floored” when he saw Gaga performing live at the Sean Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, and from that moment knew she should be cast as Ally.
Speaking last year, he said: “I was floored. I’d never heard her sing live before and then I went and met her, I think it was almost the next day.
“I was so taken with how warm and present and kind and generous she is. And then from that meeting, that was it. There was no movie without her.”
Gaga will compete for two gongs for best actress and best original song for her and Cooper’s hit ‘Shallow’ at the 91st Academy Awards, which airs February 24 2019 on ABC.

Ryan Reynolds ‘steals’ Blake Lively’s moisturiser

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds “steals” Blake Lively’s moisturisers for his beauty regime.
The 42-year-old actor has revealed that he will go into his wife’s drawers and “slather on” whatever moisturiser he can find to keep his skin hydrated.
Speaking to US Vogue, Reynolds admitted: “Scent really is so powerful and intrinsic to memories that you don’t even really know are indelible until it strikes a chord, but I’m not an expert, I just know what I like
“I find something that I like and stick to it. That’s really the 30,000-foot view of my life because every day is different, so I like as many variables to stay the same as possible.
“On a super-cold winter day, sometimes I’ll steal whatever my wife has in her drawers and slather it on. I may not know exactly what it is, but I do make sure it says moisturiser.”
Ryan – who plays the titular tole in superhero flick ‘Deadpool’ – admitted that the special effects make-up “ripped off his face” so badly that he had to use a $30 balm from Vitaminerals that includes Vitamin C, E, D, A and panthenol to nourish his skin.
He added: “They rip up your face as they’re coming off. So I basically do whatever the lead artists tell me to do, including using this special moisturizer meant for burns. It’s a bit more intense.”
The star – who has two children, James, four and Inez, two – also confessed that he tries to catch up on his eight hours of sleep when his children are snoozing.
He admitted: “As any parent will say, sleep is a like a huge commodity that doesn’t come as often as one might like.
“Usually I find that if I don’t have to work or catch up on something, I usually try to sleep at the same time as the kids.”

Adidas designed custom trainers for Bohemian Rhapsody

OHMYGOSSIP — Adidas designed custom trainers to recreate Freddie Mercury’s Live Aid outfit for ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
The costume designer of the Queen biopic Julian Day revealed that the sportswear giant, as well as American jeans brand Wrangler, recreated the legendary singer’s “most iconic” look for Rami Malek to wear while filming the movie’s epic 20 minute concert scene as it was “very important” to get the outfit right.
In an interview with Vogue, he said: “I think…one of the most iconic is the Live Aid look, which looks on paper to be the simplest look of all: jeans, sneakers, a tank, a belt, and an armband.
“But to get that right was very difficult because there’s so much imagery attached to it… everyone’s seen it, in some ways that was the most important to get right.
“It [the Live Aid scene] is in the film for 20 minutes which is one-sixth of the film, so it’s on screen a lot of the time, so that was very important to get right.
“Adidas remade the boots for us, Wrangler reproduced the jeans for us, we made the tank, and then we got the guys who knew the original guy who made the belt and the armband to reproduce those as well.”
The designer went on to explain that the British rock band has “so many visual references” and compared the group’s aesthetic to that of Sir Elton John.
He said: “They are so iconic and there’s so many visual references for them…they’re very cool, unique. It’s not the norm.
“The only thing I can equate it to is Elton John. It’s not necessarily always the coolest look, it’s quite peculiar and odd, [but] that’s actually what I really like about it.”

The ‘Firework’ hitmaker – who was previously married to Russell Brand – took to Instagram to show off her stunning pink diamond floral-shaped ring in a selfie of herself and the 42-year-old actor, confirming they plan to tie the knot after three years of dating.
She simply captioned the image: “Full bloom.”
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor – who has eight-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr – also shared the same photo on his own Instagram page.
He captioned it: “Lifetimes”.
The 34-year-old singer’s mother, Mary Hudson, shared a number of pictures on Facebook of what appeared to be Katy and Orlando’s engagement party, which had a heart theme.
The images included a close-up of the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker’s ring and another of the happy couple in front of a heart-shaped floral trellis.
She captioned the pictures: “Look who got engaged on Valentine’s Day!!”
The happy news comes just a few weeks after the pop star admitted she doesn’t expect to marry again as she is “less fantastical” than she was before her first wedding to Russell, who she wed from in 2010 and split from just over a year later.
She said: “I’m very pragmatic and logistical and I am less fantastical about things. I mean, I was married when I was 25. I’m 34. It was almost 10 years ago. I was like, ‘One person for the rest of my life,’ and I’m not so sure that that idea is for me. I’m just such a different person than I was.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jedward have been left heartbroken by the death of their mother.
Identical twins John and Edward Grimes have shared an emotional post on their Twitter account revealing their beloved mum Susanna has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer.
The 27-year-old singers posted: “Rest In Peace Mammy, you live on through us. We will miss you and your smile. You shaped the character of who we are. Mammy lived with cancer for many years but was always full of life! You live on in our Memories and will always be alive in our Hearts.”
Alongside the emotional message, the pair – who also have an older brother named Kevin – shared two photos themselves with their late mother.
John and Edward found fame as pop duo Jedward on the sixth series of UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2009 and went on to release three albums; ‘Planet Jedward’, ‘Victory’ and ‘Young Love.’

Ryan Reynolds got scared by bear

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds “flipped out” when he came face-to-face with a bear on a camping trip.
The 42-year-old actor was on a school expedition to Canada’s Garibaldi Provincial Park when he and his tentmate were woken to the sound of the creature scratching its back on the side of their tent.
He recalled: “We naturally flipped out. I don’t think they make diapers secure enough for teenage boys at that age when something like that happens. My eyes were the size of dinner plates.”
The ‘Deadpool’ star pulled out a jackknife – but not because he planned to tackle the bear.
He said: “It was just so I could cut a hole in the tent so we could go out the other side if we needed to.
“We screamed bloody murder. The bear took off pretty quickly once we screamed.”
The following morning, the group’s leader, who was an experienced bear tracker, looked at the prints left by the bear and found it was just a cub being a “rascal”.
Ryan told the USA Today newspaper: “It was baby bear scratching its back on the tent, and being a rascal.
“I’m sure this cub meant no harm and was probably checking us out. But it’s still a sign to get the hell out of there. Because mama is going to be close by.”
The ‘Green Lantern’ actor – who has daughters James, four, and Inez, two, with wife Blake Lively – has had other bear encounters since then after visiting Clayoquot Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
He recalled: “You could see 10 different black bears in a day. But you don’t want to get close and interfere with their daily life … in the same way you don’t want them to interfere with your life.”
And Ryan has narrated director Ian McAllister’s new documentary, ‘Great Bear Rainforest’, which features grizzlies, black bear and the rare white spirit bear – and it was a “privilege” to work on the project.
He said: “To see the area through that giant IMAX lens is a true privilege.”

Charlie Puth has new girlfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth has a new girlfriend.
The ‘One Call Away’ hitmaker seemingly revealed on Valentine’s Day (14.02.19) that he is romancing up-and-coming singer Charlotte Lawrence.
He shared an unfocused photo of himself with his arm around Charlotte on his Instagram account and wrote: “Happy valentine’s day.”
And in the comments section of the post, Charlotte shared a blushing heart emoji.
The pair sparked romance rumours earlier this month when they attended Coach’s Men and Women’s Fall 2019 Runway Show at New York Fashion Week.
The ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ singer previously admitted he was looking to find love with a “cool girl” who wasn’t interested in his fame.
He said: “I want to be in love. It would be so nice on this tour if I just had a cool girl who could do her own thing but also would be there for me.
“I’ve dated famous girls, I’ve dated not-famous girls and I just need to find someone in the middle who doesn’t care about Charlie Puth, but cares about Charlie Puth’s heart, I guess…Without sounding so sappy.”
Charlotte is unlikely to turn to the 27-year-old star for any music lessons as Charlie – who learned to play piano when he was just four years old – recently admitted he is “terrible” at teaching others, though he’s pleased he has inspired others to take up the instrument.
He said: “I never thought that there would be a day and age where I’d be interacting with millions of people at a time…
“I’m a terrible piano teacher. Don’t ask me for lessons! But I’m happy that they’re playing.”

Cillian Murphy joins 6 Music

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy has joined BBC Radio 6 Music.
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ actor is “chuffed” to have been asked to take over Guy Garvey’s Sunday afternoon slot while the Elbow frontman works on the group’s new album and admitted it is an “honour” to be taking the reins of the show, which broadcasts from 204pm.
Cillian – who will front his first show on March 3 – said: “As a music lover, mixtape obsessive and long-time 6 Music fan I couldn’t be more chuffed to be asked to sit in for Guy on his hiatus.
“His show has been a constant companion for me and my family on Sunday afternoons for many years now, and it will be an honour to pick the tunes in that slot for a while. 6 Music is the best radio station in the world and I look forward to becoming a temporary houseguest!”
‘One Day Like This’ hitmaker Guy joked he’s worried he won’t have a job to come back to in the summer because he thinks the ‘Dark Knight’ actor is “a bit too good”.
He joked: “I am taking a couple of months off to concentrate on the final stages of Elbow’s next record. Murphy is a bit too good actually, I’ve heard him before and he knows his onions. I obviously have to watch my back, but he’s nowhere near as good looking as me so I’ll win on that front.”
Station chiefs are “delighted” to have signed up the 42-year-old actor.
Paul Rodgers, Head of 6 Music, said: “We’re delighted Cillian will be joining 6 Music for the next few months. His music selections are always interesting and I think listeners will love hearing him on 6 Music on Sunday afternoons.”
This isn’t the first time since Cillian has presented on the digital station.
In 2013, he fronted ‘The Sound of Cinema’ and had another one-off show in 2016, ‘Cillian Murphy’s 6 Music Playlist’.
Last year, he stood in for Iggy Pop for two weeks and also presented a special show over Christmas, in which he played his favourite songs from 2018 and the best of Irish musicians young and old.

Zawe Ashton almost quit acting before Velvet Buzzsaw

OHMYGOSSIP — Zawe Ashton nearly quit acting before she was cast in ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’
The 34-year-old actress is best known for her roles as Vod in Channel 4’s ‘Fresh Meat’, Katherine in ‘Not Safe for Work’ and most recently teacher Claire Pascal in polyamory TV drama ‘Wanderlust’ but she has admitted that before she was cast in the recently released Netflix horror film she thought about swapping careers.
In an interview with Variety, she said: “I wanted to quit acting and as soon as I decided that, the call for ‘Velvet Buzzsaw’ came through.”
The satirical horror, directed by Dan Gilroy, also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo and Toni Collette – whom Zawe appeared with in Wanderlust – and centres on paintings by an unknown artist which after being discovered cause a supernatural force to enact revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art.
Zawe – who plays Josephina in the film – explained that she wanted the role so much that she sent in her audition tape the morning after she had accidentally “chopped the top of her finger off”.
She explained: “The night before the self-tape, I chopped the top of my finger off. The next day, I was tired, mad, had a huge bandage on my finger while doing a scene with a cell phone I was having trouble holding. I watched it back and thought, ‘You look mad. Not pretending to be insane, you look like an actual insane person. And I think there’s something about that that’s going to work.’ ”
Director Gilroy, 59, praised the actress and insisted that of all the tapes they’d seen, Zawe’s was the only one which captured the “satirical element” to the script.
He added: “Of all the auditions we saw, Zawe’s was the only one that made us laugh. It’s not indicated in the script or the dialogue, but Zawe intuitively understood there was a satirical element to what was happening that imbued everything. She’s a tremendous actress who can write and direct and I can’t wait to see what she explores in the future.”

Marina announces two-part album

OHMYGOSSIP — Marina is releasing a two-part album.
The Welsh pop star – who has dropped her previous name Marina and the Diamonds – will release ‘Love + Fear’ on April 26 via Atlantic Records.
The extensive collection of songs features her huge hit with Clean Bandit, ‘Baby’, and the single ‘Handmade Heaven’.
The record – which is the singer’s first studio effort since 2015’s ‘Froot’ – is split into two eight-song collections, which represent what it is to feel united and empowered by love, with the second half touching on feelings fear and insecurity.
The 33-year-old musician – whose full name is Marina Lambrini Diamandis – also tackles gender inequality and the abuse of power on the emotive pop songs.
The record took two years to make and was recorded in London, Sweden and Los Angeles, with the finest songwriters and producers the music industry has to offer, including Noonie Bao, Sam De Jong, Oscar Görres, Camille Purcell, Justin Parker and Joe Janiak.
Marina has also announced a UK and North American tour in support of the album, including a show at London’s iconic Royal Albert on May 3.
Marina previously teased that her new music is “very different” from what her fans are used to production wise.
She said: “The production of this album is very different [to the other albums].”
Meanwhile, the ‘Hollywood’ singer admitted she found it a struggle to work on new music following the release of 2015’s ‘Froot’
Asked how the album was coming along, she said: “Really, really well. I’ve kind of been writing more than I ever have before which was unexpected because I thought I wasn’t going to do this any more for a while. I’m really excited to put something out soon because it’s been three years.”

Hollyoaks’ Kelle Bryan had an overwhelming first day on set

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelle Bryan had an on-screen kiss on her first day filming for ‘Hollyoaks’.
The soap star – who joined the cast of the Channel 4 show last year as Martine Deveraux – admitted she found it tough when she arrived on set and felt she was “thrown in at the deep end”.
Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: “Oh, that seems like such a long time ago! I was so nervous, and had an on-screen kiss with Karl Collins (Louis Loveday), who I hadn’t worked with before – so I was thrown in at the deep end.
“I felt a bit of a tourist, because everyone on the show knows each other and I was like a rabbit in the headlights. The studios are a maze too, so I was lost a lot.”
However, she was taken “under the wing” of co-star Jacqui Boatswain – who played Simone Loveday until her on-screen exit last month – and she has credited the actress with making her feel welcome.
Kelle added: “She’s left now, but it was Jacqui. She took me under her wing from day one, so we’re really close.
“Jacqui leaving was a loss for me personally and professionally, as doing scenes with her was always brilliant. We’d go out and watch shows together, and have sleepovers. We still speak all the time.”
Meanwhile, Kelle also admitted she only lets her children watch certain scenes from the show because she doesn’t think it’s suitable for the youngsters.
She revealed: “I don’t allow them to watch it – they’re only seven and five! I tape it sometimes so they can see my scenes. It’s bizarre for them, as people at school watch ‘Hollyoaks’ and the teachers talk about it to them.
“They do like watching some of it, though, and my son will want to have a conversation with me about the storylines. He’ll just ask me, ‘Why did she do that? Why is he doing that?’ and I can’t explain it as I don’t want to have these grown-up conversations.”

Holby City and Casualty crossover set for March episodes

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Holby City’ and ‘Casualty’ will collide as characters from both shows cross paths next month.
The BBC One soap and medical drama will crossover in March in a two part special when a cyber-attack leaves Holby City Hospital in chaos, with intertwining stories meaning familiar faces from both shows will interact.
The exciting collaboration will kick off during ‘Casualty’ on March 2, and will conclude with an episode of ‘Holby City’ on March 5.
It means the likes of Sacha Levy (Bob Barrett) will be seen sharing a screen with Elle Gardner (Jaye Griffiths).
BBC is celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Holby’, with returning characters set to make guest appearances throughout the year.
Storylines set for the crossover special include a possible pregnancy, a car crash and two members of staff facing a fight for their lives with only one operating theatre available.
Simon Harper, the executive producer of both shows, said: “We’ve known for some time there’s been major audience appetite for a mega crossover between these sister shows.
“You’ll see both the Casualty and Holby teams striving heroically against the odds in two episodes of pure, nail-biting, taut, emotional medical drama.”
Harper also heaped praise on the way the production teams have handled combining the two programmes, which are filmed in Cardiff and Elstree.
He added: “There’s so much to relish in the cross-show character interactions: an especially poignant thematic resonance between two regulars, Connie and Jac, in delicious conflict, and perhaps most vitally, who from Casualty has been secretly carrying on with whom from Holby!”

James Cameron doesn’t think Aquaman is realistic enough

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron “doesn’t resonate” with ‘Aquaman’ because it wasn’t realistic.
The 64-year-old director claims the 2018 DC Extended Universe superhero film – starring Jason Momoa as the titular character – is a movie he “could never have made” as he claimed it is totally disconnected from “any sense of physics or reality” because of its underwater setting.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Cameron – who helmed 1989 underwater sci-fi film ‘The Abyss’ – said: “I think it’s a movie I could have never made. Truthfully. I could have never made that film because it requires this total dreamlike disconnect from any sense of physics or reality.
“It exists somewhere between a Greek mythic landscape and a fairy tale landscape. And people just kind of zoom around underwater because … they propel themselves mentally? I guess? I don’t know.
“But it’s cool. You buy it on its own terms. But I’ve spent thousands of hours underwater. I’m very literal about my underwater. It needs to look like it’s real. And while I can enjoy that film I don’t resonate with it because it doesn’t look real.”
The ‘Avatar’ director went on to explain that the sequel to his 2009 sci-fi film will also take place underwater, however, will have “such a different feel” as ‘Aquaman’ doesn’t help with ” actually understanding the ocean”.
Cameron – who has also made several documentaries exploring the world’s oceans – said: “[Aquaman] doesn’t help us with our issues of actually understanding the ocean and exploring the ocean and preserving the ocean – though they did throw in a couple things like whales and things like that to remind us we are using the ocean as a garbage dump, so I applaud the film for that.
“Yeah, I couldn’t have made that movie. We’re doing a lot of underwater in the ‘Avatar’ sequels and it’s going to have such a different feel.”
