Chris Evans and Channing Tatum auditioned for Avatar

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans and Channing Tatum were almost cast as Jake Sully in ‘Avatar’.
James Cameron, the director of the 2009 sci-fi blockbuster, has revealed that Sam Worthington had competition from the two huge stars for the lead part, but the relatively unknown actor won over the 64-year-old filmmaker with the “intensity” of his voice on the final speech in the movie.
Speaking to the Empire 30 podcast, Cameron said: “Chris Evans, and Sam, and Channing Tatum.
“That was my choice.
“I really liked Channing’s appeal. I liked Chris’ appeal. They were both great guys.
“But Sam had a quality of voice and a quality of intensity.
“Everybody did about the same on all the material through the script, except for the final speech where he stands up and says, ‘This is our land, ride now, go as fast as the wind can carry you.’
“That whole thing.
“I would have followed him into battle.
“And I wouldn’t have followed the other guys.
“They’ve since gone onto fantastic careers and all that, but Sam was ready. He was ready.”
Meanwhile, Edie Falco recently joined the ‘Avatar’ franchise.
The 55-year-old actress is set to star in Cameron’s four upcoming sequels as General Ardmore.
Although plot details are being kept under wraps, The ‘Sopranos’ star’s character has been described as the leader of the fictional Resources Development Administration, the largest single non-governmental organisation in human space.
The official ‘Avatar’ Twitter account announced: “We are thrilled to share that Edie Falco is joining the #AvatarFamily as General Ardmore, the Commander in charge of the RDA’s interests in the Avatar Sequels! (sic)”
The original film is set on the alien world of Pandora inhabited by the Na’vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved, as the planet’s environment is poisonous, human/Na’vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on the planet.
Sully (Worthington), a paralysed former marine becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na’vi woman (Zoe Saldana), however, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world when the RDA threaten to destroy it.
‘Nurse Jackie’ star Edie was welcomed to the cast by Cameron, who insisted the actress is “one of the greats”.
The director tweeted: “Edie Falco is one of the greats – I can’t wait to watch her kick some ass on the big screen.”
The first movie will be released in 2020, followed by the other three in 20121, 2024 and 2025.
The first ‘Avatar’ film still remains the highest-grossing movie at the worldwide box office, raking in as much as $2.79 billion.

Armie Hammer to star as Batman?

OHMYGOSSIP — Armie Hammer is in talks to play Batman.
The ‘Call Me By Your Name’ star is said to be in “final talks” to play the Caped Crusader after Ben Affleck stepped down from the role last month.
It is believed Armie will play the legendary DC Comics character in Matt Reeves’ June 2021 standalone movie, ‘The Batman’, whilst Robert Pattinson is also being lined up for a role in the movie as one of the villains.
Ben announced he was stepping down as Batman in January.
He tweeted: “Excited for #TheBatman in Summer 2021 and to see @MattReevesLA vision come to life.”
Ben had initially been attached to both star in and direct ‘The Batman’, but opted to step down from his role behind the camera in 2017.
However, he insisted at the time that giving up directing didn’t mean he wouldn’t be playing the character either.
He previously said: “Let me be clear. I’m the luckiest guy. Batman is the coolest f**king part in any universe, DC, Marvel. I am so thrilled to do it. I know there’s this misconception that because I’m not directing it, that maybe I wasn’t enthusiastic about it. It’s f***ing amazing! I still can’t believe it after two films. Kevin Tsujihara, Sue Kroll and Toby Emmerich said to me, ‘We want you to be our Batman. Matt Reeves, doing it, I would be an ape on the ground for Matt Reeves, never mind be Batman. It’s incredible! I’m really blown away and excited. It’s a great time in the DC universe… and you can see why I am so excited to play Batman.”

Gemma Collins shuns dieting

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins is giving up dieting.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star has decided to love her body for what it is and has shunned dieting and all the “weight loss nonsense”.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Stop wishing for other people’s bodies. Find peace in your own. Just eat food. Eat real food, be active and live your LIFE. Forget all the diet and weight loss NONSENSE. It’s really just that … NONSENSE. Spreading LOVE and POSITIVITY. (sic)”
Her comments come just days after the ‘Dancing On Ice’ star vowed to continue with working on her fitness, despite being booted off the skating show.
She shared at the time: “I will 100 per cent keep up with the fitness and I’m saying this on national TV because I feel so much better, like I could just move a lot more, I can do my shoes up. I’ll be honest I had about three tyres round my middle and they’ve gone. I’m still a bigger girl but when I got on the scales, I was shocked because I’ve actually lost two and a half stone. It never goes off my face, I think I need some sort of lifting surgery. I was shocked I couldn’t believe and just feeling fit. I don’t know what form of exercise I’m going to do yet. I might take to the rink but for an enjoyment purpose, skate round for an hour, you know, because it is good exercise, but I really do want to continue with my fitness.”

Gemma Atkinson heartbroken as dog Norman is taken to vets

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson received the “worst news” when her dog Norman damaged his other cruciate ligament.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Emmerdale’ star – who is expecting her first child with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Gorka Marquez – was close to tears as she revealed their pet Sproodle had badly injured his leg whilst playing in a field on Monday (18.02.19).
Gemma felt even worse because she was unable to “comfort him” because she is pregnant and unable to lift him.
In an emotional video posted to her Instagram account after Norman had an X-Ray at the vets, she said: “I had the worst news today.
“Norman’s other cruciate ligament has gone so he needs to have another operation.
“I was out on the field with him and he was playing with a husky.
“He let out a massive yelp and lifted his leg up.
“I felt horrendous because I was on my own with and because I’m pregnant I couldn’t pick him up.
“He was leaning on my feet for me to comfort him and I couldn’t.
“So I felt s***.
“I just had him in the vets for an X-Ray so he’s a bit groggy from his anaesthetic and they’ve confirmed it’s another cruciate ligament on the other leg, which I knew would happen at some point, so it’s another operation, and I can’t lift him upstairs with me in bed or anything and Gorks is gonna be on tour.
“Oh Norman, I love you so much buddy.”
Gemma thanked her mum for being able to get Norman to the veterinary surgery in Whitefield, Manchester, and said she plans to bring her mattress downstairs so she is able to sleep near to the poorly canine, who is set to undergo another operation after having the other ligament operated on eight months ago.
She captioned the post: “Here we go again Thank God for my mum and peter being retired and living 2 minutes away! Another operation almost 8 months after his left cruciate ligament went, his right one has gone. I remember loads of you telling me it was the case with your dogs so I was kinda waiting for it. Im just sad that I can’t pick him up for snuggles or carry him upstairs to sleep with me in the evening. Genuinely bringing my mattress down stairs when Gorks is on tour so the stairs won’t be an issue. Bless my little man Norman Thank you to all the staff at the emergency vets in Whitefield and also Mr Irving’s surgery for being so kind to him today. (sic)”
Gemma had announced her pregnancy by sharing a picture of the couple’s two dogs, Norman and Ollie, who were wearing signs around their neck which read: “Guess what … mum’s pregnant. We’re going to be big brothers!”
She captioned the post: “And what Amazing big brothers they will be! Myself & Gorks are beyond excited and happy and feel incredibly blessed to be meeting our new family member later this year. Baby Marquez!!! We love you loads already @gorka_marquez (sic)”
Dancer Gorka, 28, posted the same image of the pooches on his Instagram account and wrote a caption praising his gorgeous partner.
He wrote: “@glouiseatkinson Thank you for the greatest gift in life. Myself and Gem are beyond thrilled to be welcoming our new family member later this year! Baby Marquez. (sic)”
The couple confirmed their romance last year whilst they were on the ‘Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour’.

The Jonas Brothers planning reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jonas Brothers are set to reunite.
The ‘When You Look Me In The Eyes’ hitmakers – which includes siblings Kevin, Joe and Nick – are reportedly working on a new documentary and plan to release new music to accompany their show.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This is going to be one of the biggest music reunions in years. It’s no secret that things weren’t great by the end of the Jonas Brothers, but blood is thicker than water and they’ve healed their rift in the years since the split. After enjoying solo music success and taking time to work on passion projects, they feel that now is the right time to get back together.”
Kevin, Joe and Nick flew into London last week to discuss their plans for their comeback and original music, which would be the first original release since 2009’s ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’.
The group were formed in 2005 and were very successful, selling over 20 million records worldwide, but a “deep rift” and “a big disagreement over their music direction” saw the trio cancel their 2013 comeback tour just two days in.
Back in 2015, Joe said a reunion “could easily happen”.
The ‘Cake By The Ocean’ singer shared: “Seeing where things will lead us. It’s easy to say we’re done and that we’re never doing it again, but then we both look at each other and go, ‘We obviously get along.’ And who knows – years from now we could be like, ‘All right, let’s make a record.’ It could easily happen.”

Paris Hilton teases new song

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton has teased that she has new music “coming soon”.
The Hilton Hotels heiress is in the studio preparing her first tunes since 2018’s ‘I Need You’.
The ‘Good Time’ singer has shared a glamorous animated image of herself posing with a silver microphone stand in a glittering gown and pale blue fur boa draped over her shoulder, as she channelled her her idol Marilyn Monroe.
The ‘Jealously’ hitmaker captioned the Instagram shot: “Back in the studio. New music coming soon… (sic)”
She also shared a snippet of a song, which she hinted is called ‘You Make My Life Feel Like A Dream’, and captioned the video: “#MarilynVibes.”
She also tweeted the clip and added: “You make my life feel like a Dream… #Goals (sic).”
Paris is yet to give her fans a release date for the new song.
The 36-year-old socialite released her debut single ‘Stars Are Blind’ – which helped launch her current DJ career – in 2006, and whilst fans have been waiting for her second album since the release of eponymously titled ‘Paris’ that same year, she previously said that she’s “focused on singles” for the time being.
Asked last year if she was recording another album, Paris said: “I’m mostly focused on just singles, I think that’s just how it is nowadays with the music industry. It’s not really about albums. So yeah I’ve been working on my second album forever, but I’m also running a huge business and doing a million other things.”
Back in 2013, it was reported that ‘The Simple Life’ star would be working with Afrojack in the production of her second studio venture, but Paris later admitted the songs were recorded so long ago that they’re “unusable”.
When asked about her collaboration with Afrojack, she said: “I’ve worked with so many people. The sound is so different now. Back then, when we were doing the album together, that sound was amazing but now the sound has changed so much that I wasn’t really feeling the songs anymore. Music moves so fast nowadays that if you do a song a year ago, it’s going to be not the same as something that you do right now. Those songs are just unusable because we recorded them so many years ago. I want a newer, more fresh, like futuristic sound.”
Paris – who broke off her engagement to Chris Zylka in November – would eventually love to open up her own festival, where she can do “something that involves charity”.
Speaking about her goals as a DJ, Paris said: “I love doing it and I’d love to keep playing and I would love to put together my own music festival one day, something that’s really special and fun and something that involves charity.”

Simon Cowell drops £30k on party for Eric

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell splashed out on a lavish ‘Greatest Showman’ themed party for his son’s fifth birthday.
The music mogul channelled his inner Hugh Jackman and dropped £30,000 on a luxurious party for his five-year-old son Eric, held at London’s famous Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Cheryl Tweedy, Alesha Dixon, Katie Piper, Rochelle and Marvin Humes were in attendance with their children at the party in Knightsbridge on Saturday (16.02.19).
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Simon spared no expense in making sure it was the perfect occasion for little Eric. The kids got to sing their favourite songs from the film and the whole place was decked out just like the circus. Everyone was joking that Simon was like Hugh Jackman’s character because he was the ringmaster. Loads of celebrities were invited with their families and Eric’s own friends came, too.”
Simon had previously confessed he thinks fatherhood has transformed his life.
He shared: “My life is very different since he came along. It was my 59th birthday last week and it started with me taking Eric out cycling, with him dressed as an alien. Then I bought him yoghurt, watched him play in his hamster wheel on the grass, we had a swim and I taught him how to ride a quad bike.”
And Simon is open to having another child with his partner Lauren Silverman, who also has son Adam from a previous relationship.
Asked if he’d like another kid, he added: “If you’d have asked five years ago would I have one now, I’d be thinking, ‘I might have left it a bit late’. But once you’ve had one you think, how could you imagine him not being here? So when it happens, it happens. I never thought I could think this way, but you just go, it would be unthinkable to think he wasn’t here. I can’t really think about life before Eric, so yes I would consider another child.”

Corrie’s Callum Harrison and Julia Goulding are like family

OHMYGOSSIP — Callum Harrison and Julia Goulding are “like mother and son” in real life.
The ‘Coronation Street’ stars – who play killer Clayton Hibbs and his mum Shona Ramsey on the cobbles – have a close relationship behind the cameras, and the actor has suggested it makes their on-screen chemistry feel more real.
Speaking to the Metro.co.uk, he explained: “Me and Julia have such a good relationship – like mother and son.
“That helped us a lot doing the scenes because it felt quite real – I could react to how that would be because we’re so close and I think so highly of her.
“We’re playing the complete opposite to what we are in real life but it did feel real – it really added to the intensity and you could really feel it.”
Clayton will be back on ‘Corrie’ in tense scenes as he escapes from his prison guard at his father’s funeral, and ends up holding Shona hostage with police surrounding the building.
Callum wouldn’t reveal whether or not his on-screen mum makes it out alive, but he hinted his character would hit the point of no return if he killed her.
He added: “I think that would be history for him really, there’d be no coming back from that would there? But you’d just have to wait and see what happens.”
Meanwhile, the soap star suggested there is more to Clayton, and described him as “very weak” and frightened”.
He said: “He’s very dangerous – he thinks he’s a hard man and will do anything to prove that but as you’ll see, he’s very weak. He’s really scared but he will put on this act – but he regrets the things he does in the long run.”

Jo Joyner: Bizarre ‘foot fetishist’ constantly changed size on Wikipedia

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Joyner had a creepy “foot fetishist” fan who changed the size of her feet on Wikipedia.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress has opened up about the bizarre admirer, who would “constantly” edit her page on the online encyclopedia to make her foot size bigger than it actually is, while another fan would be sure to change it back.
Opening up about the unusual scenario, she told the Mirror: “I had a foot fetishist. He would change the size of my feet constantly to a size eight.
“Then I had another fan that used to go on there and change it back because they knew it was wrong but I could never get in touch. They are a size five. I’m 5ft 2in, I’d look like a clown if my feet were eight.”
Meanwhile, the soap star – who starred as Tanya Branning from 2006 to 2013 before returning in 2015 and 2017 – insisted while she will always fight for equal pay, she doesn’t think it’s always “black and white”, while praising Jake Wood (Max Branning).
She explained: “It is a delicate balance. I wouldn’t go back to ‘EastEnders’ and expect to get paid the same as Jake straight away because he’s shown them a loyalty by staying with it and being there, so it is tricky and it’s not as black and white.”
The 41-year-old actress added she would always fight for “fair pay”, and said if she had done the “same job” as a male co-star she would expect the same reward.
She said: “I’ve always made sure I was on fair pay. It’s been a bit of a thing of mine on jobs when I think it’s fair. If you are doing absolutely the same job then it’s shocking that it’s even been an issue or that we’re even talking about it. It’s unbelievable.”

Martin Clunes doubts Men Behaving Badly would be made in 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Clunes thinks ‘Men Behaving Badly’ would struggle to get made in 2019.
The 57-year-old actor starred in the popular sitcom – which ran from 1992 until 1998 – alongside the likes of Neil Morrissey and Caroline Quentin, but Martin thinks it’d be tough for the show to get the green light in the current TV landscape.
He quipped: “These days, it’d have to be ‘People of No Particular Gender Behaving Badly’.”
The show’s pilot episode was directed by John Howard Davies – who helmed the iconic ‘Fawlty Towers’ series – and Martin was initially told to “be more like John Cleese”.
But the show – and Martin’s character – gradually evolved over time, and ended up being completely different to the original plan.
The actor – who played the part of Gary Strang on the show – told Radio Times: “That pilot never got shown. We remade it – and if you look at the way the show went, it was completely the opposite.
“Gary forgave Tony for sleeping with his girlfriend, that’s how close they were – and that’s why it was funny. But at the time there were these very rigid ideas, and I think that’s what killed sitcoms.”
Meanwhile, Martin previously insisted he never “set out to do a zeitgeisty thing” with the sitcom.
He added: “Although it aired in the early 1990s, it was never meant to sum up that particular time. It was just funny to laugh at people like Gary and Tony.”

Boyzone would’ve collaborated with rivals Take That

OHMYGOSSIP — Boyzone would have loved to have collaborated or toured with Take That.
The Irish pop band – comprised of Shane Lynch, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy – were always pitted against the ‘Back For Good’ hitmakers back in the 90s, but they’ve insisted they’re actually really good friends with their rivals and are gutted they’ve never done anything with them as a group.
Shane thinks had they been American, they would have long hit the road with Gary Barlow and co and other bands.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “We were never against working with Take That.
“I’m sad that we never collaborated directly with them or U2 or Westlife.
“I love how the American work, they own the world of music because they work.
“They don’t mind collaborating with each other.”
He added: “It would have worked. Look at the Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block tour a few years ago.”
Gary did however pen the track ‘Love’ for Boyzone’s final LP ‘Thank You & Goodnight’, which also features the track ‘Because’ co-written by Ed Sheeran.
On teaming up with the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker, Ronan said: “He [Ed] writes on the road, he has a studio set up with him.
“I called him and asked for a song and he said: ‘What do you boys think of this?'”
Boyzone have just completed the UK leg of their final tour and head to Australia in March, but Ronan has admitted they could continue the tour beyond their final date.
He said: “We still don’t know what the final show will be, we keep adding them.”
The ‘No Matter What’ hitmakers were marketed as an Irish version of Take That – currently comprised of Gary, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, and formerly featuring Robbie Williams and Jason Orange – and said he felt privileged to be able to give “amazing” Gary and co a nod with the song.
He said: “We were set up as the Irish Take That, so if anything, it’s an honour to pay homage to such an amazing group.
“I’ve never listened to one Take That record and thought ‘that’s s**t’. I’ve always thought: “that’s a f**king great record, lads’.”

Sir Michael Palin: Silly behaviour is a great release

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Michael Palin thinks silly behaviour is “a great release”.
The 75-year-old comedian – who was a member of the comedy group Monty Python – feels proud for having brought joy to the lives of so many people around the world, and Michael has insisted that silliness is something that ought to be embraced, not derided.
Asked how he feels about the term “Pythonesque”, he replied: “It means that ‘Python’, or whatever it was, one was unable to duplicate or replicate it.
“It was a creature of that time and attitude, and importantly was a group of six people all putting material in there. It was different every week and produced a joyful reaction in people.
“It wasn’t dour, it wasn’t being gloomy or angry – mainly silly, which I think is a great release for people.”
Michael is also known for starring in various TV travel programmes.
And the veteran star has admitted there’s at least one place in the world where Monty Python isn’t well-known.
Asked if there’s anywhere in the world where he isn’t famous, Michael told the Metro newspaper: “The Himalayas – I wouldn’t say they’re big Python aficionados.
“If you’re travelling in a world where people are saying, ‘Oh hello, what are you doing now? How’s your wife?’ it takes away the mystery of discovery and exploration.”
In fact, Michael admitted that part of why he loves travelling so much is because he likes to “forget celebrity and reputation of fame”.
He added: “Once you’re on the road, what I want to know about is the people I meet and how they live. It’s about exploration without recognition.”

Describing herself as “happily single”, Miranda – who was previously married to Blake from 2011 until 2015 – shared: “Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it. You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”

Meghan’s stylist Jessica Mulroney has been co-ordinating the event, which will take place at an exclusive Upper East Side hotel and they will be joined by 15 of her closest friends.

Speaking at a Commonwealth youth discussion in London last month, he said: “As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation. The only way to see real progress is not by chance, it’s by change.”

The 84-year-old actor will be starring in the Gold remake of the classic World War II sitcom as Private Godfrey, the platoon medic who was originally played by Arnold Ridley.
Timothy said: “It’s a special pleasure for me to be taking over as Godfrey from Arnold Ridley who coincidentally, wrote ‘The Ghost Train’ the play in which my parents.”
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor has been added to the cast list after Bernard Cribbins pulled out of the role for personal reasons.

Three of the new episodes are from the original second series, entitled ‘The Loneliness Of The Long-Distance Walker’, ‘A Stripe For Frazer’ and ‘Under Fire’.
Ahead of filming, Robert said that he was looking forward to playing Sergeant Wilson – who was originally portrayed by John Le Mesurier – because he wanted to honour and celebrate the brilliance of the classic episodes.
He previously explained: “I’ve played soldiers before, but find I handle guns with all the bloodcurdling authority of Sergeant Wilson.
“I’m looking forward to playing him. I hope we can honour Croft and Perry’s lost episodes. It’s a celebration of their writing, with understudies.”
