James Jordan backs Neil Jones to replace Pasha Kovalev on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — James Jordan wants Neil Jones to replace Pasha Kovalev on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 40-year-old star – who was axed from the show himself in 2014 after eight years – has opened up on speculation regarding the 2019 lineup following Pasha’s exit, and he’s called on the competition’s bosses to give more support to British dancers.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “No question Neil Jones has to replace Pasha. He’s British for starters and there aren’t enough British dancers on the show.
“He’s ginger, he’s funny, he’s got a brilliant personality, he’s a great choreographer – I have no idea why he’s not had a partner previously.”
The pro dancers are currently waiting to hear who will be invited back for the new series, and James – who is currently competing on ITV’s ‘Dancing On Ice’ – insisted both Neil and his wife Katya should be part of the lineup.
He added: “Katya should be allowed back. Neil and Katya deserve their moment on the show as a couple.
“Whatever goes on in their personal life isn’t my business and I don’t really want to get involved because I love them both so much.”
Last year, Katya was at the centre of controversy after she was snapped kissing her celebrity dance partner Seann Walsh on a night out.
However, earlier this month the couple reconfirmed their love and commitment as they revealed plans to renew their wedding vows.
Meanwhile, James’ comments come after Pasha confirmed he was quitting ‘Strictly’.
He said in a statement: “After scoring 93 perfect tens, reaching four finals and lifting one Glitterball, it’s time for me to find a new challenge and so I’ve decided to make last year – my final season on Strictly.
“I’ve had eight fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.”

Emmerdale bosses wanted Chelsea Halfpenny back as Amy Wyatt

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ bosses wanted Chelsea Halfpenny to return as Amy Wyatt.
While the team is delighted with newcomer Natalie Ann Jamieson – who will be stepping in as the rebellious youngster – Kate Brooks has admitted they did want Chelsea to reprise the roll she played for three years until 2013.
Speaking to the Metro, boss Brooks explained that “other commitments” prevented the actress from making a return to the ITV soap.
However, she heaped praise on incoming star Natalie, describing her as “absolutely brilliant” and pointing to the show’s track record of recasting.
She said: “We’ve done it [recasting a character] before.
“We did it with Robert Sugden and it worked a charm, so we’ve got every confidence that she’s going to be a really successful character and that people will fall in love with the character of Amy and her relationships with Pollard and Kerry. That’s who they love.”
Viewers last saw Amy in 2013 when she fled the village to live in Northern Ireland, leaving her son Kyle in the care of his father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hoardsley).
The young mother had put her baby up for adoption but kidnapped him following the death of his adoptive parents and went on the run, before returning him to his biological dad and going on the run to avoid prison.
Show stalwarts Marlon Dingle (Marc Charnock) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) will appear in special episodes set in Belfast, where they will come face-to-face with Amy.
Chelsea – who recently left ‘Casualty’ after four years in the medical drama – had previously insisted a return to ‘Emmerdale’ would be “pointless” for her career at the moment.
She explained: “No, I’m not – I’m definitely not. There would be no point in leaving one long-running show to go back to the one you were in before. There are other things in my career that I’d like to do. For now, it’s a ‘no’. ”

In a statement, LP said: “[I have] great respect and appreciation [for Morrissey]. However, I soon realised when I hung out with him and he played me all the songs he was putting on this record that behind this was the heart of an audiophile and a deep fan of his own musical heroes. He is well versed in so many genres and knows deep cuts of artists I thought I knew so much about. It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and intellect he brings to people through his own musical journey.”

Nicki Minaj denies Tracy Chapman copyright allegations

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj has denied the allegations in a copyright lawsuit brought against her by Tracy Chapman in October.
Last October, Tracy sued 36-year-old Nicki for copyright infringement after claiming the rapper’s track ‘Sorry’ interpolated her 1988 single ‘Baby Can I Hold You’ without her permission.
And in new court documents obtained by The Blast, Nicki has now denied infringing on the copyright for the song, despite having previously announced that she was seeking permission from Tracy to use the sample.
The ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker claims in her documents that whilst “she recorded a musical interpolation that incorporated music and lyrics from the Composition,” the use of the sample is protected by the doctrine of fair use.
Nicki also claims Tracy “has not properly registered her claim to the copyright in the Composition,” adding that the 54-year-old singer “is not the owner of the copyright in issue and therefore lacks standing to bring the claims alleged in the Complaint.”
‘Sorry’ was meant to appear on Nicki’s fourth studio album ‘Queen’ – which was released in August last year – but remained unreleased until it was leaked to New York DJ Funkmaster Flex, and subsequently played on Hot 97 radio, leading Tracy to file the lawsuit seeking damages, as well as an order to prevent Nicki from releasing the song.
In her documents, Nicki admits she “several requests for permission” to license the song, all of which were denied.
The papers read: “Defendant admits that Sorry incorporates music and lyrics from the Composition. Defendant admits that she made a recording of Sorry without first seeking authorisation to do so.”
After Funkmaster Flex played a copy of the ‘Queen’ album Nicki originally intended to release – which included ‘Sorry’ – shortly before the release of the final product, the ‘Good Form’ hitmaker seemed to suggest on social media that Tracy had blocked her from using the sample.
In a now-deleted tweet, she simply wrote: “Sis said no”.

Emma Atkins promises ‘significant plot’ for Emmerdale’s all-female special

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Atkins has promised a “significant plot” for Charity Dingle.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress has opened up about the soap’s highly anticipated all-female episode to mark International Women’s Day, and she has teased her character will have a big part to play.
She explained: “Charity is on a mission in this episode, and although I can’t give anything away, her scenes will have a significant impact going forward.
“I really enjoyed filming these scenes. They were beautifully written and I was honoured to play a role in this episode.”
Before the episode itself – which airs on March 8 – Charity has to deal with her drunk fiancee Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), before she’s suddenly interrupted by a phone call which leads her away from the village.
The all-female special has been written, produced, recorded and directed entirely by women, and Emma added it was “interesting” to be working with this crew.
She said: “We work with a fabulous team day in, day out on Emmerdale so it was interesting they pooled all the female crew and cast into one team.”
The show’s producer, Kate Brooks, has opened up about the episode too, and she discussed the importance of showcasing the talents of women in the industry.
She added: “The industry has always been male-dominated, and we want to celebrate that more women are taking jobs in the crew, camera and sound departments.
“We also want to demonstrate the fact that we can produce as show that’s led by an all-female cast. We wanted to make sure that we told storied from all different female perspectives.”

Samantha Giles saw a smurf in her room as she’s been battling tonsillitis

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Giles has been hallucinating about a smurf as she battles tonsillitis.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress has been keeping her fans up to date throughout her illness, and she has revealed how “delirious” she became over the weekend as she thought she saw one of the small blue children’s TV characters.
She tweeted: “So I DO have tonsillitis….. what a bore. Good old penicillin will hopefully sort me out.
“Did I mention over the weekend I was delirious and terrified of the smurf in my bedroom who was trying to talk to me. I never did understand what he said. (sic)”
It seems the 47-year-old star – who first played Bernice Blackstock on the soap back in 1998 – has been trying to battle through the illness for work.
She wrote over the weekend: “Been suffering again today bad sore throat… when will it ever end??! Still at least I can hear now. Off to bed with night nurse as am in work tomorrow……”
Last month, Samantha encouraged her followers and fans to be “proud” of their natural looks after her character on ‘Emmerdale’ was hospitalised following a Botox disaster.
Bernice suffered an allergic reaction to internet-bought Botox injections after being pressured to have them before her 50th birthday by troublesome teen Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger).
But the star took to Twitter to thank viewers for tuning in, and posted an unfiltered selfie to show she doesn’t have any facial paralysis in real life.
At the time, Samantha wrote: “Thanks for watching this story folks- as you can see no paralysis and #nofilter be proud of your lines! (sic)”

Corrie’s Kym Marsh set for rollercaster exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh’s ‘Coronation Street’ exit will be an emotional rollercoaster.
The 42-year-old actress recently confirmed she was quitting her role as former pub landlady Michelle Connor after 13 years on the cobbles, and it’s said soap bosses are keen to make the most of the character’s farewell.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “Bosses are packing her scripts. This week it was revealed she thought she was pregnant, but the twist is she’s not. Then her and Robert break up. So she’s not got a breeze to the finish line.”
The report comes after Kym revealed her plans to leave the soap and focus on the next stage of her career.
She recently said: “When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here 13 years later. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time for me to explore some other roles.”
Kym’s departure from the show was confirmed by ‘Corrie’ executive producer John Whiston, who said he was “sad” to be losing her from the show, but “totally understands” her desire to head off into new ventures.
He said: “Kym has done a fantastic job. She has brought incredible heart and humanity to some hugely important stories. We will be really sad to lose her when she goes but totally understand that, after dedicating herself to the show for so long she now fancies trying something else.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported bosses won’t kill off her character, meaning the chance for a return has been left open.
During her time on the show, Kym has been involved in some heavy plots, including suffering a stillbirth, being drugged and kidnapped by her ex-partner Will, and being involved in a car crash with her teenage son Ali.

Emma Thompson pulled out of Luck to send message to daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Thompson refused to work with John Lasseter as she wants to “protect [her] daughter’s generation”.
The 59-year-old actress recently dropped out of upcoming animated film ‘Luck’ as she was “concerned” about working with Lasseter, 62, who has become the new head of Skydance Animation following his departure as the Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Disney Animation after acknowledging “missteps” in his behavior with employees.
The ‘Sense and Sensibility’ star has now revealed that she took a stand against the animator in a bid to change “centuries of entitlement” over women’s bodies and suggested that John’s apology was superfluous and she wanted to show her aspiring actress daughter Gaia that this behaviour is never acceptable.
In a lengthy letter to Skydance Media, published by the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Emma said: “If a man has been touching women inappropriately for decades, why would a woman want to work for him if the only reason he’s not touching them inappropriately now is that it says in his contract that he must behave ‘professionally’?”
The ‘Nanny McPhee’ star – who is married to actor Greg Wise – then referenced past allegations against the filmmaker and questioned whether his behaviour towards females in the industry now is be “anything other than an act he’s required to perform”.
She continued: “The message seems to be, ‘I’m learning to feel respect for women so please be patient while I work on it, it’s not easy.’
“I am well aware that centuries of entitlement to women’s bodies whether they like it or not is not going to change overnight. Or in a year.
“But I am also aware that if people who have spoken out – like me – do not take this sort of a stand then things are very unlikely to change at anything like the pace required to protect my daughter’s generation.”
Lasseter left Pixar and Disney after taking a six-month sabbatical from the company in November 2017 following accusations of sexual misconduct. In June 2018, Disney announced that he would be leaving the company at the end of the year when his contract expired, but would work in a consultant role until then.

Idris Elba thought Prince Harry was joking with his wedding DJ invite

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba thought Prince Harry was joking when he asked him to be the DJ at his and Duchess Meghan’s wedding reception.
The ‘Luther’ actor and part-time DJ – who is set play Coachella this summer – took to the decks at Frogmore House in Windsor last May for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s star-studded party after their wedding nearby at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Speaking about the moment Harry asked him to do him the honour in spinning some tunes at the bash, Idris revealed he didn’t think he was being serious.
Appearing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, he recalled: “I told him nothing and then he asked if I would DJ at his wedding … I was like is this a joke?”
Explaining his connecting to the British royal family, he explained: “So Harry and I have hung out a couple of times through his dad’s (Prince Charles) charity – The Prince’s Trust – and he really helped me out when I was a young actor so I work with them a lot.
“Harry came to a couple of parties that I DJed and he was like, ‘What are you doing on [May 19]’ and I told him nothing and then he asked if I would DJ at his wedding.”
The 46-year-old actor – who has 17-year-old Isan with first wife Hanne Norgaard and four-year-old Winston with ex-spouse Sonya Nicole Hamlin – previously admitted the couple’s wedding was one of the “highlights” of his life.
He said: “I try not to talk too much about it, because it was a private day, but it remains one of the highlights of my life, for sure. Harry’s a friend of mine. ust from round the way, haha! He’s a neighbourhood lad!
“It was a beautiful experience, like all weddings are.”
Idris got engaged to Sabrina Dhowre last year, but refused to confirm whether the royal couple will be on his wedding guest list.
He simply replied: “Haha. I get misquoted all the time, so I had better keep quiet.”

Sarah Hyland defends wearing Spanx to Oscars

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Hyland has slammed trolls who criticised her over wearing Spanx to the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
The ‘Modern Family’ star revealed she wore two pairs of the shaping underwear for the Academy Awards bash in Los Angeles on Sunday (24.02.19), but was met with a number of negative comments about her undergarment choice because she has previously undergone two kidney transplants.
Alongside a snap of her outfit from the red carpet, she wrote on Instagram: “#funfact I’m wearing TWO pairs of spanx. Why diet? When you can just hide it!”
When one fan wrote, “If you’re trying to hide the bump from your transplant, forget it. I’ve been trying for years!! Stay healthy. #kidneystrong #transplantssavelives”, Sarah wrote back: “Someone gets it.”
When another follower posted a since-deleted comment on Twitter, the actress replied: “When you have two kidney transplants and are on steroids for life get back to me.”
The 28-year-old star has been open about her battle with her health and recently admitted she was “very close” to taking her own life as she struggled with depression.
She said: “I would write letters in my head to loved ones of why I did it and my reasoning behind it, how it was nobody’s fault. I didn’t want to write it down on paper because I didn’t want anybody to find it. That’s how serious I was … It ended up being myself that got me out of that. I had to do it on my own. I told myself I had to do it on my own.”
Sarah turned to a friend and verbalised her thoughts, which sparked a change and “helped immensely”.
However, Sarah was keen to point out that while it worked for her, she understands everyone with depression handles it differently.
She added: “Every person with their anxiety or depression or if you have suicidal thoughts, every individual is different, so I wouldn’t just rely on everything that I say.
“I’m just sharing my story. But I think talking to someone and saying it out loud really, really makes it sound almost ridiculous and it puts it into perspective.”
Now, almost two years on from her second procedure, the star is feeling much better and has been enjoying vacations with her hugely supportive boyfriend Wells Adams.
She recently revealed: “I’m doing really really well. I just came back from Mexico and that was really, really nice. The good thing about being stable, health-wise, and having an amazing significant other is that now I’m able to travel more … The last time I took a vacation before this year I was 24. I just turned 28, so I’ve just been either working on my health or working nonstop, so it’s really good to be able to do something like that now.”

John Legend wants People’s Sexiest Man Alive title

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend wants to be People’s Sexiest Man Alive after finding out his fellow ‘The Voice’ coaches were both awarded the honour.
The ‘All of Me’ hitmaker brought up the fact that Blake Shelton and Adam Levine – who are joined by Kelly Clarkson on the panel – have received the title during Monday night’s (25.02.19) episode of the talent show.
He said: “I realise I’m the only man up here that hasn’t won Sexiest Man Alive.
“I feel like if I’m on ‘The Voice’, that means I’m gonna get it.”
Blake – who is in a relationship with Gwen Stefani – was given the accolade in 2017, whilst the Maroon 5 frontman claimed the title in 2013.
John – who has daughter Luna, two, and nine-month-old son Miles with wife Chrissy Teigen – already has EGOT status, meaning he has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award, but wants to extend his title to “EGOTSMA”.
Adam joked: “That’s the EGOTSMA.”
The ‘Sugar’ hitmaker also quipped that he wouldn’t want a Tony, a theatre accolade.
He said: “That’s so much better. Are you kidding me? I don’t want a Tony.”
And country star Blake agreed: “I don’t want to go to one of those shows to get one of those things. The parking’s horrible, the backstage is cramped, you can’t get a drink. It’s much more convenient to just go for Sexiest Man Alive.”
Meanwhile, Blake – who has won ‘The Voice’ six times with his hopefuls – said he doesn’t see John as a “threat” on the new season.
The 42-year-old musician said: “I don’t know how deadly John is as a coach. I can only tell you that I have absolutely no faith in his ability to win this show.
“Not as long as I’m on, you know what I’m saying? I wanna beat him.”

Martin Clunes back for second series of Manhunt

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Clunes wants to play detective Colin Sutton again in a follow-up to ‘Manhunt’.
The British star is keen to reprise his role as real-life retired police officer Colin whom he brought to life on the small screen in the ITV series, which depicted how the Met Police detective brought serial killer Levi Bellfield to justice and attracted nine million viewers.
‘Manhunt’ was produced by Buffalo Pictures, the company the 57-year-old actor runs with his wife Philippa Braithwaite, 54, and the couple are interested in turning another of Colin’s “grisly” cases into a television drama.
Speaking to the Series Linked TV Podcast, Martin said: “‘Manhunt’ did make me proud, because it was quite a risk for us … My wife had spent four years contacting the family members of the people involved and clearing it with compliance, legally. Colin was very helpful making it and was around a lot … There is another equally grisly case Colin solved that we are looking into…”
DCI Sutton was in charge more than 30 successful murder investigations during his career and another of his most infamous cases is that of the ‘Night Stalker’ Delroy Grant – who raped and attacked elderly victims in South London over a 17-year period.
Martin made his name in comedy with his roles in ‘Men Behaving Badly’, ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘Reggie Perrin’ and he thinks making a great funny show is far harder than creating a good drama.
He said: “It’s either funny or it isn’t, whether it’s fashionable or not. And in a way that you can palm off a lot of old dross as a drama, provided it’s ticking certain boxes, and it’s hogwash. But it doesn’t have to be funny. If it’s not funny, it ain’t funny.
“If it’s some wistful detective staring into the middle distance solving crimes in a nice jacket. That tends to work.”

“We’re always like: ‘What’s next?’ So, that [a new Spice Girls album] could happen. Who knows?”

But Emma says she has been really supportive and is planning to bring her youngest child, seven-year-old daughter Harper – whom she has with husband David Beckham – to one of the concerts.
On the chances of Victoria joining them on stage, she said: “That’s something that’s not gonna happen. She’s been brilliant in the conversations we’ve had.
“So supportive,’ she said, trying to lessen the blow on our aching hearts yearning for the full collection.
“From day one she’s been like: ‘I’m here to support you’, so that’s just lovely. And, she wants to come with Harper. I’m so excited that she’s going to come.”
