Corrie’s Norris Cole will be engaged to Freda when he returns to the cobbles

OHMYGOSSIP — Norris Cole will reportedly return after getting engaged to Emily Bishop’s deaf niece Freda.
‘Coronation Street’ legend Malcolm Hebden – who first appeared on the cobbles in 1994 – was back on set this week for the first time since the actor was put in an induced coma in December 2017, and it’s said he will be returning with Emily’s niece, played by Ali Briggs.
An ITV source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “Norris’s first scenes were never going to go under the radar. But no one thought he’d come back an engaged man.
“He turns up with Freda and reveals they are getting married and want to buy a house together. She’s been in the show before – Freda Burgess, the niece of Emily.
“She and Norris have got closer while he has been staying with her and Emily in the time Malcolm needed off for his condition.”
Freda first appeared opposite on-screen aunt Emily – played by ‘Corrie’ icon Eileen Derbyshire – for two stints between 2005-2006 and 2009-2010.
Last year, it was revealed Malcolm, 78, would be returning to the ITV soap for a “sort of cameo”.
Show boss Iain MacLeod said at the time: “He’s back for a short stint in a little sort of cameo return in the hope we can have him back permanently in the future.
“He’s on that list of Emily Bishops of characters who are so Corrie that the show doesn’t feel correct without them in there.
“Soap characters come and go – but I am reading bits in the scripts where I know Norris would have something to say.”

Pharrell Williams admits working with Karl Lagerfeld was ‘incredible’

OHMYGOSSIP — Pharrell Williams says working with the late Karl Lagerfeld was an “incredible” experience.
The 45-year-old singer created an exclusive unisex capsule collection for Chanel with the German fashion icon – who passed away on February 19 at the age of 85 – and Pharrell has revealed that he was given a lot of creative freedom to bring more “colour to existing pieces” and create garments that “made sense” for his silhouette and he appreciated every moment with Lagerfeld.
Speaking to GQ France’s GQ Originals YouTube series before Lagerfeld’s death, he said: “It’s been amazing. Karl has been incredible. He’s just been incredibly generous. Some things were existing pieces that he just allowed me to bring more colour to, and other things were things that I just felt like were missing. Like, as a man, I’ve always wanted a lot of belts. But like I said, I got the joy out of wearing the girls’ belts, not the ones that were super feminine, but they just made sense for my body. There’s still a bunch of things that as a man, I would at least want unisex versions of. So the inspiration for this was mainly my wish list, things that I feel like I’ve always wanted.”
Details of the collection’s release are yet to be confirmed, however Pharrell has promised that it is “coming soon”.
The ‘Sangria Wine’ hitmaker also insisted that he has always been forward-thinking when it comes to fashion because he has always found it as a way of “expressing” himself.
He added: “My brothers and I, we used to wear [pearls] in high school and everyone thought we were the weirdos … and we were. But we just did it because that was just us, it was a means of expressing ourselves. Now that I’m older and I understand the effeminate nature that pearls give off, it makes all the sense in the world.”

Johnny Vegas wants Paul Hollywood handshake on Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Vegas wanted a handshake from Paul Hollywood “the whole time” he was on ‘The Great Celebrity Bake Off’.
The comedian has joined an all-star cast taking part in a special series of the baking show for Stand Up To Cancer, and he admitted Paul and his fellow judge Prue Leith might have been taking it easy on him because of his lack of experience.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “The handshake, that’s what I was after all the way through. But they were great, I think they take it easy on you knowing that you’re a first timer.”
Johnny will appear on the special charity run alongside a host of fellow famous faces, including the likes of John Lithgow, Michelle Keegan, Jon Richardson, Caroline Flack, Big Narstie, Georgia Toffolo and Rylan Clark-Neal.
The 48-year-old star – who admitted he is “terrible” under pressure – has “never baked” before, but he acknowledged he definitely has a “competitive edge” that comes through in the competition.
He revealed: “It’s hard work, it is! If you don’t bake but you’ve got a bit of a competitive edge to you, you get in there and it’s a multitasking element of cameras coming over wanting to chat to you. You want to make a good show of yourself.”
Johnny is doing the show for a good cause after losing his father Lawrence to cancer, and while he couldn’t share exactly how he fared, he suggested he might have done better than he expected.
He said: “No, not really. I mean, I think I gave a good show of myself. I can’t tell you how I got on.”
The five part series starts on Tuesday, March 5 at 9pm on Channel 4, and will feature judges Paul and Prue, plus hosts Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding.

The Hole In The Ground was inspired by real life events

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Hole In The Ground’ was inspired by horrifying real-life events.
The horror follows the story of single mother Sarah (Seana Kerslake) whose son (James Quinn Markey) disappears into the woods, however, when he returns his behaviour – believed to be linked to a mysterious sink hole in the woods – grows increasingly disturbing and Sarah begins to believe that the boy who returned may not be her son at all.
The film’s writer and director Lee Cronin explained that he was originally developing a story about a mistrust between a mother and child however after being inspired by a news story, his idea began developed to include the use of sinkholes.
In an interview with DigitalSpy, Lee explained: “There was a particular news story I saw about – this was a long time ago – a man in Florida was watching TV in his armchair in his sitting room and a small sinkhole opened up beneath him. He was unable to be rescued, he fell down into the earth and I thought that was horrific. If someone has a heart attack, it’s very sudden, but this was crazily fantastical. It got me thinking and researching sinkholes and what they were.”
Seana, 28, went on to explain why the trope of the evil child remains so “terrifying” in horror films.
She said: “I think there’s something terrifying, somebody that you think you know so well and is almost a part of you, not being who you think they are anymore. You’re not in everybody’s heads and you don’t know what they’re thinking, so do you really ever know anybody and what they’re capable of?”
Lee added: “I wonder, for a lot of people and having children, their presence is a huge part of their legacy moving forward in life.
“As grim as this sounds, leaving a piece of them behind. I’m not saying that’s the only reason people have children, but I do wonder if challenging that legacy or darkening that or disturbing it really unnerves people.”

Stallone’s final Rambo movie will be released this year

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone’s final ‘Rambo’ movie will be released later this year.
The fifth instalment in the iconic franchise ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ is scheduled for a September 20, 2019 release, according to Deadline.
The 71-year-old actor first played the Vietnam veteran John Rambo in 1982 and the upcoming movie will see Rambo’s path cross with a Mexican cartel.
The former soldier has been working at a ranch, but when the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, he crosses the American/Mexico border and finds himself up against one of the country’s most violent organisations.
Stallone was initially expected to direct the movie as well as star, but that’s not now believed to be the case.
John Rambo was the lead character in the 1972 novel ‘First Blood’, written by David Morrell. The book was adapted into a film of the same name in 1982.
The franchise then spawned sequels ‘Rambo: First Blood Part II’ in 1985 and ‘Rambo III’ in 1988.
Whilst the former was a box office hit, the latter of the two flopped when it hit screens, and the character subsequently lay dormant until Stallone revived him for a 2008 movie simply entitled ‘Rambo’.
Stallone recently worked on another franchise, ‘Creed II’, the follow-up to Rocky spin-off ‘Creed’, and last year began filming ‘Expendables 4’, despite previous speculation he’d quit the series.
In April 2017 Nu Image/Millennium chief Lerner hinted Stallone had quit the franchise due to creative “disagreements” with him, but admitted there was still a chance he could be involved in the fourth film.
He said: “We’ve got disagreements with Sly, but we’ve had them for over a year and a half. Right now, each one has opinion. We agreed on 95 per cent of things, but there are certain things in production we don’t agree on.
“I don’t think it’s over, but what write whatever you want. In my opinion, it’s not dead.”

Amanda Abbington says Martin Freeman split made play ‘more emotional’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington says her divorce from Martin Freeman made her new play “more emotional” for her to perform in.
The 45-year-old actress – who was married to Martin, 47, for 16 years and shares children Grace, 10, and 13-year-old Joe with him – is starring in a stage production called ‘The Son’ and the ‘Sherlock’ actress admitted that she drew on experiences from her own life during the play.
Speaking to Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “I’m playing a mum going through a divorce with a depressed child. Life and my age now, you always draw on your past experiences. There was points in the play where I remembered my past, but I do think actors do that. It is about a break-up, I’ve been through a break-up. It’s about a teenage boy, I have a teenage boy, all these things factor in to it and make it in to a more emotional piece.”
‘The Son’ completes a trilogy of plays following Olivier Award-winning ‘The Father’ and ‘The Mother’ and tells the story of 17-year-old Nicolas who spirals out of control following his parents split.
The ‘Mr. Selfridge’ star went on to explain that although she doesn’t want to temp fate by voicing how happy she is, she feels she has a “lovely life” and feels “very lucky” to have a job that she loves and her two children.
She said: “I never like to say I’m too happy because then it gets scuppered. I’m lucky that I have a job that I love and I have two kids and I have a lovely life personally so I feel very lucky but then I’m going to say, it all could change.”

Tom Jones’ biggest tour fear is falling sick

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones’ biggest fear while touring is catching a cold and falling sick.
The 78-year-old music legend, who is set to play two outdoor shows as part of the ‘Live At Chelsea Concert Series 2019’ at the home of the Chelsea Pensioners in West London on June 15 and June 16, has admitted hitting the road comes with its challenges at his age.
However, he wouldn’t swap his life for the world as performing live is such a “joy” for him.
Appearing on ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (01.02.19), he said: “I love to sing. I’ll sing at the drop of a hat because I love to sing.
“It’s a joy for me. It’s just that you’ve got to be on time. “You’ve got to be in different places around the world.
“And for goodness sake don’t catch a cold, you know because then you got problems.
“So you got these thing you’ve gotta look out for.
“But the actual getting on stage and performing, is great!”
The ‘Not Unusual’ hitmaker – whose other classic tunes include ‘The Green Green Grass of Home’ and ‘What’s New Pussycat?’ – has appeared as a coach on ITV’s ‘The Voice’ since 2012.
And the ‘Sex Bomb’ singer said that he looks for “realness” on the show and is impressed when a contestant performs their own rendition of a classic song and makes it their own song.
He said: “Something that’s real that’s what I listen to. Somebody that comes across that doesn’t seem like they’re copying.
“Especially when they sing some song that is well known and you know the original recording of it, you don’t want them to sound exactly the same as that because then it’s just that they’re copying.
“You need to hear somebody that does something a little different to the song that you know.”
Tom was forced to cancel a string of performances last summer after being hospitalised with an infection,
but he’s back to full health and doesn’t “feel any different”.
Asked if he still lived up to his 1999 hit single ‘Sex Bomb’, he said last year: “I hope so. I feel as strong as ever. I don’t feel any different. I’m just an older version of what I was 40 years ago.”

The ‘Let Me Love You’ singer teamed up with the Baltimore rapper for the catchy number, which is a freshened up take on the track from her latest LP ‘Phoenix’.
According to a press release, it’s about the 28-year-old singer “realising she has found the one” and questioning “whether her past actions have hindered her chances”.
6LACK – whose real name is Ricardo Valentine – spits: “She don’t want a remix, she want the OG.
“She told me she love the new me and the old me.”

Noel Gallagher reunites with Oasis producer Dave Sardy

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is working with Oasis producer Dave Sardy again.
The Brooklyn-born studio wizard produced the 51-year-old rocker’s former band’s albums ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ in 2005 and ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ in 2008, and the pair last worked together on High Flying Birds’ self-titled debut record in 2011.
The Who’s guitarist Pete Townshend was the one who revealed that the ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker had been in the studio with Sardy in Los Angeles recently, as he is also working with the ‘Pinball Wizard’ rockers on their new record.
In a studio blog post on their official website, Pete wrote earlier this week: “Dave Sardy our producer went back to LA for a while to work with Noel Gallagher, but he’s back on Monday.”
Sardy – who is also an acclaimed film scorer and has worked with the likes of Paolo Nutini, Macy Gray, The Killers and Royal Blood – is known for producing big ballads.
Noel’s third High Flying Birds LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ saw him team up with producer David Holmes on the psychedelic pop record, and he previously revealed that he plans to release another “traditional” album alongside a new one with Holmes.
He said: “I’ve got a whole backlog of songs, I write all the time so I’ve got plenty of material.
“I’m going to make another record with David in this way but the last one took four years so I’ll probably have to make another one alongside it in the more traditional sense.”
Teasing what his new songs are sounding like, Noel previously described them as “70s disco” records.
The ‘Live Forever’ songwriter ditched the usual lyrical references and guitar chords that made him famous in favour of fresh riffs for him.
He said: “Well, 70s disco … like the beginning of the world.”
Meanwhile, Noel’s former Oasis bandmate and sibling Liam, 46, previously criticised his older sibling for saying he’s going to make a “traditional” album.
The band’s former frontman – who hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with his brother since Oasis split after a backstage bust-up in 2009 – mocked “cosmic pop” LP ‘Who Built The Moon?, and after reading that the guitarist is planning to release a conventional record to go alongside the next one, he logged onto Twitter to slam him.
He ranted: “Traditional thought you don’t do traditional anymore what happened to your cosmic pop journey sh*t it have we as you were LG x (sic)”

Harry Styles is like a son to Stevie Nicks

OHMYGOSSIP — Stevie Nicks claims Harry Styles is like the “son [she] never had”.
The 70-year-old singer joked the former One Direction hunk is the secret “love child” of herself and Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mick Fleetwood and she loves the direction he’s taken with his solo career, instead of taking the “easy” option of mimicking the material of his group.
Asked about Harry’s version of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’, she said: “He’s Mick’s and my love child. When Harry came into our lives, I said, ‘Oh my God, this is the son I never had.’ So I adopted him.
“I love Harry, and I’m so happy Harry made a rock & roll record — he could have made a pop record and that would have been the easy way for him. But I guess he decided he wanted to be born in 1948, too — he made a record that was more like 1975.”
And Harry isn’t the only young pop star that Stevie feels motherly towards as she admitted it makes her very “happy” to hear that young female singers idolise her and she shares a special connection with a lot of them.
Asked by Rolling Stone magazine how she feels about young pop stars idolising her, she said: “That makes me happy because I didn’t ever have children, but I feel like I have a lot of daughters.
“I love Vanessa Carlton. She’s like my younger, younger, younger sister — like if my dad had divorced my mother and married a really younger woman, then had Vanessa.
“I’m so much older than her, but yet there’s such a little silken thread between the two of us when it comes to music.
“I have that with Natalie Maines, LeAnn Rimes, Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum.”

Adam Brody lands guest role with Leighton Meester

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Brody is to appear alongside his wife Leighton Meester on ‘Single Parents’.
The 32-year-old actress plays Angie D’Amato in the ABC series, and her 39-year-old husband has landed a guest role as the musician ex-boyfriend of the single mother, and Leighton admitted it was the “best case scenario” to work with her spouse.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “The last episode is going to have somebody that I know really well. He is going to be on the show, and it was kind of like, maybe best case scenario, maybe someday he could be on the show. And then now he’s gonna be on the show! His name is Adam Brody!”
According to reports, in the episode – which will be filmed early this month – Will (Taran Killam) convinces Angie to track down musician Derek, years after they split, and confront him, but things don’t go well when they meet again.
The couple – who married in 2014 – have three-year-old daughter Arlo together and the former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress recently admitted sharing a profession makes it easier for herself and Adam to understand one another and juggle their work around raising their little one.
She said: “I think we’re a pretty modern couple.
“I think we sort of toggle back and forth… we both work, but also being actors, I think we understand each other, what we’re both going through.
“I also think the nice thing about being an actor [is] you can work a lot, and when work is work, it’s, like, super intense and long hours and you might not see your family for a long period. But then I’ll have, like, months off at a time, so I can really be home and spend time [with Arlo]. I prefer it that way.”

Jussie Smollett ‘attackers’ issue apology

OHMYGOSSIP — The brothers allegedly paid to stage an attack on Jussie Smollett have issued a public apology.
Abimbola ‘Abel’ Osundairo and Olabinjo ‘Ola Osundairo have spoken of their “tremendous regret” at being involved in the scandal and said sorry for the negative impact they may have had on other people, particularly those who were victims of hate crimes.
A statement issued by their attorney to CBS Chicago read: “My clients have tremendous regret over their involvement in this situation, and they understand how it has impacted people across the nation, particularly minority communities and especially those who have been victims of hate crimes themselves.”
The ‘Empire’ actor told police in January he had been attacked by two masked men in Chicago, who had abused him with racist and homophobic language, doused him with a chemical substance and tied a rope around his neck.
The two brothers – who knew Jussie from working on ‘Empire’ and attending the same gym – were arrested last month but were released after telling police about the alleged hoax.
Authorities believe the 36-year-old actor paid the men to stage the attack to draw attention to himself in a bid to get a salary increase, but he has denied the claims.
Jussie was arrested last month on felony charges of filing a false police report and disorderly conduct and ordered to pay a $10,000 bond and surrender his passport.
His character, Jamal Lyon, was subsequently dropped from the final two episodes of the current season of ”Empire’ in order to “avoid further disruption” to the show.
The actor has been praised by his legal team as a “young man of impeccable character” in a statement that hit out at the way the investigation has been handled.
The lawyers said in a statement: “Today we witnessed an organised law enforcement spectacle that has no place in the American legal system.
“The presumption of innocence, a bedrock in the search for justice, was trampled upon at the expense of Mr. Smollett and notably, on the eve of a Mayoral election.
“Mr. Smollett is a young man of impeccable character and integrity who fiercely and solemnly maintains his innocence and feels betrayed by a system that apparently wants to skip due process and proceed directly to sentencing.”
It is currently not clear if the Osundairo brothers will face any charges.

Seann Walsh admits cheating on ex Rebecca Humphries was ‘a form of abuse’

OHMYGOSSIP — Seann Walsh says cheating on Rebecca Humphries was “a form of abuse”.
The 33-year-old comedian caused a scandal on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year when he kissed married pro partner Katya Jones outside a bar while he was in a five year relationship, and now he’s admitted he agrees with her statement accusing him of “reacting aggressively”.
Appearing on this weekend’s ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ – which airs on Saturday (02.03.19) – he said: “I think that when I first saw that statement it was so huge and you go through a mixture of emotions and I didn’t really know how to react. But I think with the time that I’ve had, that actually she is right, I think everything she said in that statement is right.
“At first it’s denial, initially you look at that and you go, ‘No absolutely not’. But with time, someone that you cared about has written that about you and posted that and I think that actually, yes she was right what she said.
“And I think if you lie and cheat on the person that you’re meant to care for and be in a relationship with, then that is a form of abuse, of course it is. All I can be is as sorry as I am. I hope one day that she’ll forgive me.”
Seann added that he will “always be sorry” for his “selfish” actions, and insisted he still cares about – and respects – his ex.
He added: “I will always be sorry about what I did. I think when it all blew up, I don’t think I reacted in the correct manner. I didn’t know what to do, it was huge.
“It has been some time since then, I have had a lot of time to look at my actions, look at my behaviour and take responsibility as well.
“I think when you have gone through something like that, you end up thinking in cliches, like, ‘If I could go back in time, I’d behave differently and treat her differently’, but unfortunately all I can be is as sorry as I am and as regretful as I am.”

Selma Blair wants to create disability friendly fashion line

OHMYGOSSIP — Selma Blair wants to create a “chic” fashion line for disabled people.
The ‘Cruel Intentions’ actress was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018 and made her first public appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, last Sunday (24.02.19) since going public with her condition – which affects the central nervous system, disrupting the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body – and she proudly showed off a cane she was using to support her movement.
The 46-year-old star has now revealed that she wants to partner with Christian Siriano – who created Billy Porter’s tuxedo gown for the Academy Awards – to create a disabled friendly collection that is stylish and “comfortable”.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, she said: “Dressing is a s**t show. I would like to partner with someone like Christian Siriano on a line for everyone – not just people who necessarily need adaptive clothing – but for those who want comfort, too. It can still be chic. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice style. Like, let’s get elastic waistbands to look a little bit better. I have met so many people on Instagram who have said that they were always ashamed of their cane. You want to still be part of the living, not a shuffling person people get out of the way for because they’re queasy. A cane, I think, can be a great fashion accessory. I really feel like people with disabilities are invisible to a lot of people. Because they’re uncomfortable, or don’t have the energy to dress up, don’t want to be seen.”
Selma – who has seven-year-old son Arthur with her ex, fashion designer Jason Bleick – also insisted that following her MS diagnosis she is “happy” and wants others to feel “comfortable” in their own skin.
She added: “There’s no tragedy for me. I’m happy, and if I can help anyone be more comfortable in their skin, it’s more than I’ve ever done before.”

Claire Danes would wear shop bought dresses to red carpets

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Danes would wear a “store bought” dress to awards ceremonies when she first started her career.
The ‘Homeland’ star started her critically acclaimed television career as a 15-year-old star in the ABC series, ‘My So Called Life’, and was later scouted for her first leading role on the big screen in 1996 for Baz Luhrmann’s BAFTA award-winning ‘Romeo + Juliet’ opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
However, the 39-year-old star has revealed that when she would attend prestigious award shows, she would wear a dress she picked out from a shop, because there wasn’t any “stylists or makeup” artists at that point in her career.
Speaking to Mastermind magazine, she said: “The carpet thing has grown over the course of my career. There weren’t stylists when I started. We barely had a makeup person. I would wear a dress that I bought at a store. I basically just have to wear the thing with some conviction.”
The blonde beauty – who is married to ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ star Hugh Dancy – also admitted that she’s stopped using social media altogether because she didn’t like how much Instagram was a part of her daily life.
She added: “Love to hashtag. But I just sort of capsized … I wasn’t convinced that it was making much of a difference for me, career-wise. I know it’s easy language now, but I don’t like to think of myself as a brand. I didn’t like that I started to move through my day framing my experiences in terms of Instagram. One day I just gave up. And you know what? I’m okay.”
