OHMYGOSSIP — Tyrese Gibson will star as singer/songwriter Teddy Pendergrass in a new biopic.
The 40-year-old singer-and-actor will portray the late R&B icon in an upcoming film, for which Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired the rights.
The ‘Baby Boy’ star will also produce through his Voltron Pictures with ‘Empire’ co-creator and executive producer Lee Daniels and Donald De Line through De Line Pictures.

In a statement, Tyrese said: “I am honoured to take this journey … this is the role that I feel I was born to play. Teddy Pendergrass embraced me and before he passed put the responsibility on my shoulders to tell his story. Being here in this time and in this space and moment with Lee Daniels, Donald De Line, Little Marvin and Warner Bros. is an answered prayer. Teddy, I just hope we make you, your wife and family proud … Here we go!”

According to a press release, the concerts will “include a brand new stage and cutting-edge production”.

The Canadian Grammy-winner recently dropped hints about the residency.
Alongside a picture of him performing at the club last month, he captioned the Instagram snap: “New home.”
Speaking on stage at the gig, he teased: “Vegas! When I came back, I thought it’d be back at T-Mobile Arena or some [stuff]. But I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.”
The residency will follow Drake’s UK and European ‘Assassination Vacation Tour’, which kicks off on March 10th in Manchester, and includes six nights at London’s The O2 arena between April 1 and April 9.

Noel Gallagher announces Wait and Return remix LP

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is celebrating Record Store Day with the release of remix EP ‘Wait and Return’.
The former Oasis guitarist will drop previously unheard remixes of ‘She Taught Me How To Fly’ and ‘Keep On Reaching’ from his chart-topping 2017 High Flying Birds record ‘Who Built the Moon? – produced by David Holmes – which have been freshened up by French DJ/producer The Reflex, whilst Pet Shop Boys producer Richard Norris has worked his magic on the album’s track ‘Black & White Sunshine’.
The EP will be released as a limited edition 12 inch teal vinyl, complete with the cover artwork by Gareth Halliday, on April 13.
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker is a huge fan of the annual one-day celebration of vinyl as it means he can share the music that would never be heard by his fans.
The 51-year-old rocker said: “I love Record Store Day. It gives us, the artists, a chance to put music out there that otherwise might never see the light of day.
“I love the fact that the items are very limited edition and I do utter the phrase ‘I’ll save that for Record Store Day’ a LOT.”
Noel’s ‘A Beautiful World’ was named the biggest-selling vinyl single of 2018.
The Britpop legend paid homage to Manchester’s Hacienda days on the ‘It’s A Beautiful World Remix EP’.
Legendary Hacienda nightclub residents Mike Pickering and Graeme Park and electronica/house DJ Andrew Weatherall, who added his own vocal mix and darker dub on the psychedelic number, featuring scissor player Charlotte Marionneau, put their individual spin on the track.
Noel’s third solo record debuted at number one – a record-breaking 10th consecutive chart-topping studio album for the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker.
Meanwhile, Noel has recently been in the studio in Los Angeles and London working on his follow-up to ‘Who Built The Moon?’ ahead of his intimate UK tour, which kicks off in Edinburgh on May 7.
The ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker previously teased that the new songs he’s been working on sound like “70s disco” records.
The ‘Live Forever’ songwriter ditched the usual lyrical references and guitar chords that made him famous in favour of fresh riffs for him.
Revealing what the new material sounds like, he said: “Well, 70s disco … like the beginning of the world.”
Noel will play shows in Llandudno, London’s Palladium and Hull, before jetting across the globe to play in Japan and South Korea.
He’ll then head back for more shows on home territory, including Heaton Park in his home city of Manchester on June 7.
After headlining the Isle of Wight Festival on June 14, Noel and his High Flying Birds will play Dublin’s Malahide Castle on June 16.
The track-listing for the ‘Wait and Return EP’ is as follows:
A1. ‘She Taught Me How To Fly’ (The Reflex Revision)
A2. ‘Keep On Reaching’ (The Reflex Revision)
B1. ‘Black & White Sunshine’ (Richard Norris Remix)

Lauren McQueen backs Malique Thompson-Dwyer in fight with Owen Warner

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren McQueen thinks Malique Thompson-Dwyer’s Muay Thai skills would help him in a fight with Owen Warner.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who plays Lily McQueen on the Channel 4 soap – has opened up about which of the two on screen love rivals she’d back in a real life scrap.
Putting some thought into it, she answered: “That’s a hard one! I think it would be quite close, but Malique does Muay Thai, so he’d be able to do a lot of moves on Owen!”
Malique is set to make his return to the show after a break while he was in the jungle last year for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, and his character Prince McQueen will be angry to find out Lily has been rekindling her romance with his best friend Romeo Quinn (Owen) after he ran away from the village.
Although Lauren’s alter ego will be having mixed feelings about Prince’s return, the soap star admitted she is delighted to have her cast mate back on set.
She added: “Lily is frustrated and heartbroken that Prince disappeared. Although she is angry, she still loves him deep down, and doesn’t want to hurt him when he finds out about Romeo.
“I couldn’t stop smiling when Malique was back on set. I missed him so much! It was good to have his energy back on set and laugh all day.”
Malique recently opened up about his break, and he admitted it was difficult to immediately “settle” back into his day job.
He said: “When I first came back on set, I was a bit rusty with my acting! I don’t know why, but when I returned for my first scene, I felt as if I’d been out of work for ages. I’ve settled in again now, though.”

Stevie Nicks has shawl vault

OHMYGOSSIP — Stevie Nicks has a “temperature-controlled vault” for her expansive shawl collection.
The Fleetwood Mac singer is famous for her extensive collection of “vintage” wraps, which often feature in her shows to complete her on stage ensemble, and Stevie has revealed that she stores her beloved shawls in “huge red cases” to keep in prestige condition for her goddaughters and nieces to one day inherit.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, she said: “I have my shawl vault – they’re all in temperature-controlled storage. I have these huge red cases Fleetwood Mac bought, all the way back in 1975 – my clothes are saved in these cases. All my vintage stuff is protected for all my little goddaughters and nieces. I’m trying to give my shawls away – but there’s thousands of them. If I ever write my life story, maybe that should be the name of my book, ‘There’s Enough Shawls to Go Around.’ ”
The ‘Dreams’ hitmaker also insisted that her onstage costumes are a big part of her persona and even when she puts a pair of boots on before she is about to go on stage, Stevie instantly feels “six inches taller”.
She added: “I don’t put the boots on until right before I walk up to the stage. But when my little foot goes into that boot, it is like Cinderella. All of a sudden I become me. I become six inches taller. I could never go onstage in street clothes because it’s not who I am. I could never go out there in a pair of jeans and a denim jacket. I mean, I don’t do casual very well. Even my normal life, I’m in cashmere pants and a cashmere sweater and cashmere thoughts.”

Jennifer Garner embarrasses son

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner’s son no longer thinks she’s cool.
The 46-year-old actress threw a ‘How To Train Your Dragon’-themed seventh birthday party for her youngest child Samuel – who she has with ex-husband Ben Affleck – and got into the spirit of the celebrations by dressing up as Astrid from the animated movie, complete with blue and orange face paint, a fur shawl and boots, arm sleeves and a pointy, leather skirt, but the youngster wasn’t very impressed.
The former ‘Alias’ star shared a photo of herself presenting her son with his chocolate birthday cake and captioned the Instagram post: “Well, guess what. It turns out 7 is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party. #youngestchild #firsteyeroll #anyoneneedanAstrid [facepalm, laughing, grandma emojis] (sic)”
But while Samuel wasn’t impressed, America Ferrera, who voices Astrid, took to her own Instagram account to praise the ‘Camping’ actress for her efforts.
She shared Jennifer’s original post on her Instagram Story and wrote over the top: “Ahhhh!!!! Yeeeeessss!!! AMAZING @jennifer.garner as ASTRID!! (sic)”
Jennifer also has daughters Violet, 13, and Seraphina, 10, with Ben and the 46-year-old actor recently admitted the girls think he’s an embarrassing dad.
He said: “[For] my oldest daughter, I’m already embarrassing, you know what I mean?
“I’m like, ‘How can I be embarrassing? I’m Batman. That embarrasses you?’ She’s like, ‘Dad, pick me up down the street.”
Ben brought his kids onto the set of ‘Justice League’ and the girls were particularly taken with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
He said: “The girls were into Wonder Woman.
“I like to think they were into Batman a little, but my girls [were] definitely into Wonder Woman.”
But young Samuel was overwhelmed when he saw Ezra Miller as The Flash and “got really shy” when he saw the actor in full costume.
Ben recalled: “I was like, ‘That’s the real Flash.’ And he looked like he saw Jesus Christ.
“I was like, ‘Yup, that’s him. That’s the one, the real Flash.'”

Andy Cohen’s son meets famous friends

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Cohen’s baby son had a “big day” meeting his dad’s friends on Thursday (28.02.19).
The 50-year-old talk show host shared a series of pictures of three-week-old Benjamin being cuddled by his pals Kelly Ripa and Jimmy Fallon, as well as Andy’s college roommate Dave Ansel.
He captioned the Instagram gallery: “Big day for my boy! #QueenOfTheMorning #KingOfLateNight #CollegeRoommate (sic)”
In the first picture, 48-year-old Kelly – who has children Michael, 21, Lola, 17, and Joaquin, 16, with husband Mark Consuelos – smiled as she cradled Benjamin, who was wrapped tightly in a navy swaddle, and had a cloth over her shoulder to prevent any wardrobe mishaps.
She shared the same photo on her own account, along with the caption: “Deeply in love (four heart emojis) thank you @bravoandy for bringing such joy to the world.(sic)”
In the next picture, 44-year-old Jimmy – who has daughters Winnie, five, and four-year-old Frances, with spouse Nancy Juvonen – matched little Benjamin as his blue sweater was the same shade as the tot’s swaddle.
And in the third photo, Dave smiled broadly with the baby lying in his arms.
The meeting came a day after the ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host – who had Benjamin via a surrogate – introduced his baby son to another close friend, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
Andy shared a photo of his pal bending over Benjamin in his crib and added the caption: “Uncle Anderson got an exclusive.”
Earlier this week, Andy shared photos of a funny gift he’d received for Benjamin from Christina Aguilera – a tiny pair of leather chaps like the ones she wore in the video for her 2002 single ‘Dirrty’, but with the words ‘2019’ and ‘Cohen’ down the sides in sparkly red letters.
Andy showed off the gift on his Instagram Story and said in a short clip: “I’ve gotten a lot of baby gifts, you guys, but Christina Aguilera … look at this.
“She made chaps for the boy. Leather custom chaps, in the form of her ‘Dirrty’ video!”
Andy then shared a second clip, which had the pop song playing over the top, to show the garment in more detail.
The ‘Candyman’ hitmaker – who has children Max, 11, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, and Summer, four, with partner Matthew Rutler – also sent the baby a set of diapers with red labels reading ‘Dirrty’.

Danielle Staub to wed next week

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Staub has got engaged for the 21st time – and will marry on Monday (04.03.19).
The ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star only finalised her divorce from third husband Marty Caffrey – who she split from last September after just four months of marriage – earlier this week but she’s planning for the future and is set to wed the Duke of Provence, Olivier Maier, following a whirlwind romance.
Her spokesperson, Steve Honig, told E! News: “Danielle is planning to get married on Monday.”
Danielle met Oliver less than six months ago when he was dating one of her friends and though she initially “couldn’t stand him”, she eventually got to know the “other side” of the duke.
She admitted: “I quite frankly couldn’t stand him when I first met him.
“He’s so strong-willed, and at first, I read that as rude, and arrogant and entitled. It wasn’t until I got to know him that I saw the other side.”
And the 56-year-old star wasn’t looking for love following the end of her tumultuous marriage to Marty.
She added to People magazine: “I wasn’t open to it. I was ready to just go out with my girlfriends in Manhattan. I didn’t want this.”
Things only turned romantic in February, when the couple shared a kiss at the Baccarat hotel and, though the businessman popped the question on Thursday (28.02.19), he hasn’t had time to buy a ring yet so they will do that on Friday (01.03.19).
Danielle – who has daughters Christina, 25, and Jillian, 20, with ex-husband Thomas N. Staub – and Oliver have been celebrating their engagement in St. Barth’s, where they fell “madly in love” but plan to live in New York City and spend vacations in France.
She gushed: “We’ll be going to castles and all that, and living in Paris for a certain amount of months out of the year.”
And the reality TV star – whose ‘Real Housewives’ co-stars are expected to attend her wedding in New York – couldn’t be happier.
She gushed: “I’m madly in love. I’m feeling elated and excited for the next stage of my life. I’m going to marry the man of my possible dreams and hopefully I’ll spend the rest of my life in bliss.”

Sheridan smith returning to London stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith is returning to London’s West End.
The 37-year-old actress admitted she is “nervous” about going back to the stage as the Narrator in a new version of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ as it will be her first time working in London theatre since her troubled run in 2016’s ‘Funny Girl’, which saw her pull out of several weeks of performances due to stress and exhaustion.
She admitted: “I was nervous about going back into theatre in London.”
But Sheridan, who now lives on a farm outside of London with her boyfriend Jamie Horn, admitted her life has changed a lot since the difficult period in her life.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I’m often in bed by eight. Most importantly, my sanity has returned.”
The ‘Moorside’ actress was attracted to the role because she has never performed at the London Palladium before, and director Laurence Connor and producer Michael Harrison have promised to expand the part of the Narrator.
And Sheridan also appreciates the fact she will just be part of an ensemble, rather than the lead star, and is thankful it is a relatively short run.
She explained: “If you sign for a musical, you’ve got to do a year. But this is a summer season, for ten-and-a-half weeks.
“Plus, it’s lovely to be part of an ensemble — it’s a nice way of going back into the West End where there won’t be the pressure of me carrying a show.
“I can’t believe that there’s no talking — just singing. And the songs are catchy! Everyone knows that because we all did Joseph when we were at school.”
And the show also offers a sense of “nostalgia” for the star, as she can remember going on a school trip to see Phillip Schofield in the lead role of the production.
She said: “For me, it’s like the most nostalgic show.
“Later, we did it at school. I wore a purple T-shirt. It’s all coming back . . . I remember singing Go-Go-Go Joseph with the other children.”
Sheridan will begin rehearsals for the show in May ahead of previews commencing in late June.

Nicola Thorp was harassed by women’s rights documentary directo

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Thorp was harassed by a director working on a documentary about women’s rights.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – whose role as a presenter in the film never materialised – has candidly opened up about her experiences over the years, and she admitted it “really messed [her] up for a while”.
She told the Mirror: “A man in the public eye approached me to do a documentary about women’s rights and then, in the process, he told me how much he wanted to have sex with me.
“He then started sending me photos of dresses and shoes he thought I’d look sexy in at three in the morning.
“That really messed me up for a while. It made me think, ‘well, did I encourage him? Was my worth as a potential presenter of a documentary only gauged by how much I flirted with him?’ ”
The soap star – who was also once locked in a work bathroom when she was 19 until she agreed to kiss her manager – has spoken out and said society needs to “definitely” do more to support women who have been harassed.
Nicola, now 30, added: “This sort of thing is happening to women all of the time. I am not unique in that. Even though the #MeToo movement was so phenomenal and changed so much, it’s actually changed more for men.
“It’s punishing men more than believing women and supporting them through stuff, so there is definitely more we have to do.”
This weekend, Nicola will join Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Abbington, Annie Lennox and Sue Perkins at Care International’s #March4Women rally in London on Sunday (03.03.19).

“Thank you to the two lovey gays of Ramsey St, @takayah & @mattywilson who so delicately held my hand through my first acting gig since high school!”
The Australian drag queen – whose real name is Shane Jenek – added that while the soap will be supporting Sydney’s Mardi Gras parade this year, fans will have to wait until 2020 to see her onscreen.
She added: “Neighbours will be in the @sydneymardigras Parade this year but I won’t hit your screens till next year!”
Courtney – who won ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in January last year – first found fame on ‘Australian Idol’, and she is currently working back in her home country as she compete on the current series of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Writing as Shane, he said: “Being on @DancingOn10 is so much fun, but I also really love for the first time ever people will see a same-sex partnership on the show!
“I remember how validating it was the first time I saw two men dancing together. We are just programmed in the world we live it to think that shouldn’t be a thing, but it totally should.
“Sure I might be sneaking in under the radar cause I’m dressed like a pretty lady…but to quote the great @sasha_velour ‘Gender is a construct, tear it apart.’ ”

Tom Jones is proud when The Voice viewers back his acts

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones loves seeing his acts on ‘The Voice’ get the support of the public.
The ‘It’s Not Unusual’ hitmaker is a coach on the ITV singing competition – alongside will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Olly Murs – and he admitted there is a sense of pride when he sees his proteges progress on the show.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (01.03.19), he said: “Well, it’s always nice [to win]. The four of us are friends, and we’re all in it really to do the same thing – give advice to other people. And that’s what we try to do.
“But it’s nice to at least get into the final, because sometimes with the voting you don’t get anybody in. So when you do get somebody in the final, you’re like ‘I’m right, and doing the best I can and helping whoever I’ve got there to be the best that he or she can be’.
“And the public at home, of course, that’s the most important thing! It’s nice when they vote for somebody that I’ve coached – that’s what I feel, and we all feel the same way.”
Sir Tom’s team is currently made up of Peter Donegan, Ayanam Udoma, Cedric Neal, Marina Simioni, Grace Latchford, Roger Samuels, Deana and Equip to Overcome.
With such a varied group, the 78-year-old singer explained that the thing that ties them all together is having something “real” and unique.
He added: “Something that’s real, that’s what I listen to. It’s somebody that comes across that doesn’t seem like they’re copying.
“Especially when the songs is well known and you know the original recording of it, you don’t what them to sound exactly the same of that. You need to hear somebody that does something a bit different to the song.
“It doesn’t have to be a big voice, not necessarily. I do like big voices, I like people to project, but it doesn’t always have to be like that. It just has to be something that sounds different.”

Doctor Who’s Steve Moffat admits he ‘wasted’ Olivia Colman with guest role

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman was “wasted” on ‘Doctor Who’, according to Steven Moffat.
The science fiction favourite’s former showrunner – who was at the helm when the actress appeared in a guest role back in 2010 – has admitted the team didn’t make the most of the talent they had when she appeared in Matt Smith’s first series at the Time Lord.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Steven said: “Well in my first series, [Eleventh Doctor] Matt Smith’s first one, there was Olivia Colman.
“Olivia Colman, just a heartbeat before she was stratospheric. I think, ‘Oh we wasted that, didn’t we!’ Bloody hell.”
Colman – who won the Oscar for best actress last month for her role in ‘The Favourite’ – appeared in Smith’s first ever episode ‘The Eleventh Hour’ as one of the hosts taken over by shapeshifting alien villain Prisoner Zero, who used the star’s form to taunt the Doctor.
Meanwhile, Whovians will be excited after recent reports that the show could be set to return to its traditional Saturday time slot.
The next series of the sci-fi show – which will star Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor in her second run – will air in early 2020, but after showrunner Chris Chibnall got his wish to have it moved to Sunday evenings the experiment is to be scrapped after just one year.
A source previously said: “There is a feeling families are freer to watch on Saturdays than Sundays, when kids have homework to finish. While the show rated well overall, there were concerns over the decline in the audience. Returning to Saturdays is being discussed as a likely option.”
Jodie, 36, made history by becoming the first woman to portray the titular Time Lord and she is far from ready to hand over the TARDIS to another actor.
She previously said: “I really can’t wait to step back in and get to work again. It’s such an incredible role. It’s been an extraordinary journey so far and I’m not quite ready to hand it over yet.”
