Jack Whitehall can cope with tough BRITs crowd

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Whitehall thinks he is a “good” host for the BRIT Awards because he has a “thick skin”.
The 30-year-old comedian hosted last month’s annual event for the second year in a row, and the British star believes he can handle the star-studded ceremony because he’s used to being ignored by an audience from his early days as a stand-up.
Making an appearance on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday (06.04.19), he said: “I was at university in Manchester and I started doing stand-up at the Frog and Bucket comedy club. I did a character as a comedy poet and I was literally booed off stage because it was so bad. He was called Jasper and he did like beep poetry. [I have] thick skin and that’s why it’s so good with the BRITs with no one listening or laughing at you. I’ve done stand-up and died so many times that I’ve just built up a resistance to it.”
Whitehall will soon be seen starring opposite Rosie Perez again in the second season of the Sky One comedy-drama ‘Bounty Hunters’, which was written by the comic and Freddy Syborn and follows a middle-class antique dealer’s son who becomes accidentally involved in international crime.
Whitehall is famous for appearing naked in lots of his projects and his character Barnaby Walker will be seen baring his bum in an upcoming episode but it’s actually a butt double’s behind.
He said: “It’s fun to write all those things and stunts wise I’m always far to over ambitious and I said in the first series, I wasn’t going to get my bum out because I always get naked in things and it became a bit of a thing, and I was like, ‘This has to stop now I’m a serious actor.’ In the second series Rosie said that she would only dance if I got my bum out, but it’s not my bum it’s a bum double and she compared our bums. It was a much better bum than mine, I will be using him again!”

Taking to stage at the event at the SSE Arena in Wembley London on Wednesday morning (06.03.19), she said: “The lack of social mobility is something we hear a lot about these days but let’s be positive and create our own mobility. Upwards is the world. Let’s keep on pushing to ensure that whatever our skill sets, backgrounds we maximise our potential.
“We need to set our goals ourselves and then work on achieving them day and night. Never give up! I myself come from South London from a modest background. And my mother Valerie has been my huge supporter in believing in me.”

Duchess Meghan makes surprise appearance with Prince Harry at WE Day

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Meghan made a surprise appearance with Prince Harry to celebrate young people in London on Wednesday (06.03.19).
The 34-year-old royal delivered an empowering speech at WE Day UK before surprising the audience at the SSE Arena, Wembley, in north London, by telling them he was going to “drag his wife on stage” as the 37-year-old former actress – who is due to give birth to their first child next month – stepped out to join him.
They hugged as Harry told the crowd: “I am with you and we are with you. Get to work.”
During his speech, Harry – who is the President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust – says being around such “motivated” and “open minded” young people gives him “hope” for the future.
He said: “To be amongst all of you progressive, motivated, open minded, change-makers, is what gives me hope for the future. Your optimism is inspiring – you see opportunities where other people see challenges; you seek solutions when others just focus on problems. You are the most engaged generation in history. You care about values, doing the right thing, and championing the causes that will shape your future. You don’t judge someone based on how they look, where they’re from, or how they identify.
“In this room, you see the world for what it is – vibrant, colourful, mixed and full of promise. That is who you are, and that is what makes me feel proud to stand in your presence as you tackle the world’s greatest issues. And you guys know as well as I do, we’ve still got so much to do.”
WE Day is a global initiative, urging young people to get involved with social change.
The 12,000 people in attendance at the event on Wednesday were teachers and school pupils who had helped and supported their local community in one way or another.

Dua Lipa hits out at hypocritical stars calling for equality

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa thinks female stars need to be less hypocritical on social media.
The 23-year-old singer said while many of her fellow artists make a point of speaking publicly about equality, they can sometimes undermine their point with rivalries on social media.
Speaking on ITV News, she said: “Out in the open we’re very much pro-women, supporting each other, looking after each other, sisterhood.
“And then there’s a darker side when you go on social media. It feels like the same people that are preaching for all this equality and looking after each other… it doesn’t feel so equal online.”
The Grammy award-winning artist added that she feels it is much harder for female musicians to be taken seriously in the industry.
She explained: “Absolutely. If you’re not a female artist that’s by a piano or by a guitar, people are instantly going to think you’re manufactured, or you don’t write your own songs, or you don’t make your own music.
“I feel like we have to spend a lot more time proving to the world that this is us, these are our songs, these are our lyrics.”
Dua – who was discovered through videos on YouTube – also offered words of encouragement to “young girls” who are spotted in a similar way, as well as a warning for the future.
She said: “For any young girls, people are gonna champion you until you get to where you want to be, and then people are gonna try and bring you down.
“I think you have to remember that hard work and your dedication, and your passion for what you do, got you to where you want to be. No one can take that away from you.”

Salma Hayek slams ‘racist’ marriage critics

OHMYGOSSIP — Salma Hayek claims people who are shocked by her marriage are racist.
The 52-year-old actress wed French fashion billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault – the father of her 11-year-old daughter Valentina – in 2009 – and she believes people who are “intimidated” by her relationship are uncomfortable because of her Mexican heritage.
She told Town & Country magazine: “A lot of people are very shocked that I married who I married.
“And some people are even intimidated now by me. But it’s another way of showing racism. They can’t believe this Mexican ended up in the life that she has, and they’re uncomfortable around me.”
The ‘Hummingbird Project’ actress believes she has the “best husband in the world” as she can always be herself around him, but she doesn’t like talking about their relationship too much because she thinks that “vulgarises” their love.
She said: “[Francois-Henri] is the best husband in the world.
“I get to be who I am with him, and I don’t feel that somebody tries to limit me.
“I’m not going to tell you [how we met]. It’s such a romantic, amazing story, but it is mine. I don’t want to vulgarise it by making it into a story to make myself interesting.”
Salma is grateful she met her husband when she was 39 because she was a “late bloomer” and knew herself better, and though she thinks being an older parent has made her a “better” mother, it also has its drawbacks.
She said: “I think I’m a better mother because I had her later. But I do get tired. I’m not going to lie.”
The ‘Frida’ actress is very proud of her daughter.
She gushed: “[Valentina is] very creative, very smart, very funny, and very willful.”

Jodie Marsh says single life is ‘bloody brilliant’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Marsh thinks being single is “bloody brilliant”.
The 40-year-old star – who split from her boyfriend Wayne Lennox earlier this year – admitted that she’s much happier now she isn’t in a relationship and insisted not having a partner is “more fun” as she can focus on her “own happiness”.
Writing on her ‘My Crazy Life’ blog, she said: “Not only am I happier being single (I’ve tried having relationship and I don’t like them/haven’t found a nice man) but also because so many people seem to think they HAVE to be in a relationship to be happy and it’s simply not true.
“As much as we probably all want to find that rare and beautiful thing that is true love. It’s actually bloody brilliant being single! It’s more fun, you have more freedom and money, you can focus on your own happiness and career AND it’s far less work being single.”
The model broke it off with the director after finding out he had fathered three children with three different women and not two kids by two partners as she had been led to believe, and urged fans to end any potential toxic relationships.
She wrote: “I realise that some of you reading that one may be in a relationship but really it’s aimed at making single people feel better about their status (and possibly help someone in a shitty relationship to walk away)”
Jodie took to Instagram last month to slam Wayne and confessed she feels “dirty” about the lies, saying she “feels sick” whenever she thinks about the situation.
She wrote: “I’m feeling better about it all, I just feel dirty and like I need to take a bath in some bleach. Can’t wait for this feeling to go away. Literally, feel sick whenever I think of what’s happened my skin hurts from cringing but at least my skin isn’t grey and wrinkly and I look and feel healthy and have a full set of teeth (or veneers Hahahaha) (sic)”

R Kelly claims parents sold daughters to him

OHMYGOSSIP — R. Kelly claims the parents of his “girlfriends” have “sold” their daughters to him.
The ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ hitmaker lives with both Azriel Clary, 21, and Joycelyn Savage, 23, and though their families have accused him of brainwashing them and holding them against their will, he insisted that wasn’t the case.
Interviewed by Gayle King for CBS News, she asked “What kind of love is it that keeps these young women away from their families?”
He replied: “I’m going answer your question — what kind of father, what kind of mother would sell their daughter to a man?
“How come it was okay for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from me?
“Why would you take your daughter — if I were going to take my daughter and she’s 19 years old to a 49-year-old icon whatever, celebrity, R. Kelly concert, whoever it is, I’m not going to put her on the stage and leave her.
“I’m going to take her to the concert.
“Their father is more into my music and knew about my music than they do.”
Asked if the parents handed their daughters over to him, he replied: “Absolutely. Are the cameras still going? Absolutely.”
The disgraced star – who was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse by Cook County’s State Attorney last month, following allegations made by a host of women in the documentary series ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ – denied having sex with underage girls and insisted he never worries about the age gap between himself and his partners, just so long as they are “legal”.
He said: “I don’t look at much younger than me, I just look at legal. I just look at you’re you and I am me.
“Now I don’t know if you’re married, I don’t know one might be older than the other, one might be younger than the other. I just look at legal, OK.
“There are older men who like younger women and older women who like younger men.
“I am an older man who loves all women.”
And the ‘Ignition’ singer insisted all his accusers and their families are lying and blamed the “power” of social media for destroying his reputation.
He said: “They’re lying on me…You can start a rumor about a guy like me or a celebrity just like that.
“All you have to do is press a button on your phone and say, ‘So and so did this to me. R Kelly did this to me.’
“If you get any traction from that, if you are able to write a book from that, if you can get a reality show then any girl that I had a relationship with in the past that it just didn’t work out, she can come and say the same exact thing.
“I’m talking about the power of social media.”
At one point during the interview, the singer embarked on a monologue where he stood up, screamed and had to be restrained.
He ranted: “Quit playing, I didn’t do this stuff.
“This is not me. I’m fighting for my f*****g life! Y’all killing me with this s**t! I’ve given you 30 years of my f****g career! 30 years of my career! Y’all trying to kill me! You’re killing me man!
“This is not about music! I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids and I can’t do it! Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth . Y’all don’t want to believe it.”
The interviewer remained seated and encouraged her controversial guest to sit down, and he then continued his rant.
He added: “This is not true! It doesn’t even make sense! Why would I hold all these women! Their mothers and fathers told me, “We’re going to destroy your career.”
“There’s real girls out there missing, there’s real young girls out there being abducted, being raped, OK. They really are on chains. They really do have chains on their wrists.
“And they can’t get out and they ending up buried.”
Gayle then said she wouldn’t allow Kelly to “rant into the camera”.
He replied: “I came here for them to hear me talk! I need help. I need somebody to help me not have such a big heart. Because my heart is so big people betray me and I keep forgiving em.”
After being accused of “playing the victim” by the presenter, he cried and said: “I’m just telling the truth! And the reason I’m emotional is because this is the first time I was able to say something. I have said nothing!”
Later in the week, the network will air an interview with Azriel and Joycelyn and a teaser clip saw the younger woman scream at Gayle as she defended Kelly.
She said: “I am crying because you guys don’t know the truth and you guys believe in some f*****g facade that our parents are saying for money.
“If you can’t see that then you’re ignorant and you’re stupid!”

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire contestant leaves with £500k

OHMYGOSSIP — A school teacher reached the final question on ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’ last night (04.03.19) but decided against playing for £1 million.
John Robinson, 36, walked away with a £500,000 prize after opting against trying to correctly guess which former British prime minister had never served as foreign secretary.
The teacher made the right decision as he told host Jeremy Clarkson he would have incorrectly said Anthony Eden, instead of Sir Winston Churchill.
John was disappointed when he discovered his friend Martin – who he earlier rang to help him on a question about the Suez Canal – knew it was Winston but is not too upset because he knows he “needed” him for the £250,000 question.
He said: “Had I saved him for the final question, I’d be a millionaire. But I can’t be too disappointed because I needed him for the £250,000 engineering question.
“There’s a slight bit of disappointment, which I know sounds ridiculous given it’s more money than I’ve ever seen in my life.”
The competitor says he has no regrets about playing things safe and walking away with the money, as he claims he could not have “faced” speaking to his girlfriend if he had answered incorrectly and left with his banked £64,000.
He said: “I am not sure I could have faced speaking to Chloe afterwards. I don’t think she would have forgiven me.
“Having never seen that amount of money in my life, I wasn’t going to risk it. It’s not a feeling I would’ve liked to experience.”

Stephen Mulhern to launch new ITV show In For a Penny

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Mulhern is to launch his new ITV game show ‘In For A Penny’.
The 41-year-old TV presenter has finished filming the ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ spin-off, on which he gives members of the public the chance to win £1,000, and he laughed more filming the series than any other show.
He said: “I have absolutely loved filming this show. I don’t think I have ever laughed so much filming a series and it was all down to the Great British public, they are the real stars.
“I’ve been privileged to meet some of the most amazing people up and down the country and now the viewers will get to see just how funny and entertaining they are.”
Ant and Dec, who co-created the format, said: “It was always a highlight for us to watch this segment on ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ and we are delighted it’s now become a series.
“Stephen is the perfect host, his warmth, wit and all-round humour mixed with the great British public, who are not only brilliant but are also unfazed when a man in a sparkly jacket appears and asks them to take part in ridiculous games.
“It makes for some fantastically funny TV.”
Games on the show include Pump it Up, where the ‘Catchphrase’ host offers to pay for petrol if a driver can deliver the exact amount they had decided on beforehand in two trials.
Check it Out involves shoppers guessing whether goods running on a conveyor belt are more or less expensive than the previous item in a bid to win some free shopping.
The segment was introduced to the show last year, and Stephen previously revealed there were plans in place for it to get its own series, though he suggested there could be some changes.
He previously said: “Ant and Dec asked me to do it, which is really exciting. I just knew it was a winner. It’s gone down well. We’re hoping to get it off the ground later this year.
“We just need some time to work on it. Ideally, we’d make the cash prizes bigger too, just to up the ante.”
The ‘Big Star’s Little Star’ host was also keen to bring back the “golden days” of TV.
He added: “I love working with members of the public and I think you can have a lot of fun with them.”

Will Smith to play Venus and Serena Williams’ father in King Richard

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith is set to play Venus Williams and Serena Williams’ father Richard Williams in ‘King Richard’.
The 50-year-old actor is to take on the role as the dad of the tennis greats in Zach Baylin’s new speculative screenplay which tells the story of Richard who, with no tennis experience, raised and developed the sisters to become legends of the sport.
There is no director attached as of yet and Venus, 38, and Serena, 37, aren’t among the producing team, which includes the ‘Suicide Squad’ star and his Overbrook Entertainment banner.
Richard, 77, trained the girls on the courts of Compton in Los Angeles from an early age and at the age of four drew up a 78-page plan for their professional careers.
The pair were still teenagers when Serena won the US Open in 1999 and Venus won Wimbledon in 2000.
Serena has gone on to win a total of 23 individual Grand Slam tournaments, whilst Venus has won seven Grand Slam titles.
The rest of the producing team consists of Tim White and Trevor Write through their Star Thrower Entertainment banner and Allan Mandelbaum and Caleeb Pinkett will serve as executive producers with Mary Solomon and Rick Rickertsen.
Speaking of her father’s influence on her life, Serena previously said: “He’s been the most important person in my career. I do miss my dad obviously. I miss him all the time.
“I call him. I try to reach out to him a lot. He calls me. He watches my matches. He still tells me things that I’m not doing right.
“It all started with an idea. It was his idea. It’s changed sports. It’s changed history.”

Britney Spears’ father to have second operation

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears’ father is set to have a second operation.
The ‘Piece of Me’ hitmaker’s father Jamie Spears “almost died” when his colon ruptured last November and he had to have emergency surgery.
And Jamie is set to undergo another operation next week after making enough of a recovery to have the second surgery, according to The Blast.
Earlier this year, Britney said she was taking an indefinite break from work to focus on her father’s recovery from a life-threatening illness.
Putting her Britney: Domination run at the Park MGM resort in Las Vegas on hold until further notice, she explained: “I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show ‘Domination’. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalised and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him.”
Britney also delayed her album amid her father’s ongoing health battle.
Her management said: “Everything is on hold right now until [her father] Jamie is better. But once he is, she will resume working on the album with Justin. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”

A Star Is Born stage show in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘A Star Is Born’ could soon have its own stage show.
The hit movie – which stars Bradley Cooper as seasoned musician Jackson Maine and Lady Gaga as struggling songwriter Ally – may be coming to the West End as theatre producers are already working on a stage adaptation of the award-winning film.
George Stiles – who composed ‘Mary Poppins The Musical’ – told The Sun newspaper: “There have been a lot of people developing the stage musical. People I know very well have been developing it behind the scenes. The fact this movie has come out has changed everything, though. It’s a brilliant story and you can endlessly reinvent it.”
And there is no doubt that the movie – which features hit songs including ‘Shallow’, ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ and ‘Music To My Eyes’ – would be great on stage as Bradley and Gaga’s live performance of ‘Shallow’ at the Oscars was described by many as the highlight of the night.
Speaking about the performance, she said: “What I would like to say is one of the hardest things in life is to be brave enough to be yourself. I wish to everyone that is going to that celebration to feel a joy inside of them. That’s actually what Bradley said to me yesterday right before we did our last rehearsal for this performance of ‘Shallow.’ He said, ‘Let’s just drop a little bit of joy.’ That’s all that you can hope for. You can only pray that blessing of what you made can reach into the world and spread love. Of all things that we can spread, that’s the most beautiful that we possibly could.”

Travis Scott deleted Instagram to prove loyalty to Kylie Jenner

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott deleted Instagram to prove his loyalty to Kylie Jenner.
The couple have been the subject of rumours about the state of their relationship after Travis was allegedly caught chatting to other girls in his Instagram direct messages but he opted to close down his account on the photo-sharing site to show it wasn’t anything untoward.
Sources also tell TMZ that he is flying back in between his tour dates to be with Kylie and their daughter Stormi more often.
Travis previously insisted there is a big misconception about how “real” Kylie is just because she is so famous and is a reality star.
He shared: “People don’t understand how real my girl is. How ill she is. They have assumptions, bulls**t-ass remarks of what they think is going on. Nah, bro. She’s a Tim Burton fan, which is fire. Wes Anderson fan, which is fire. I like to just go outside and walk. Knowing a girl that famous, you’d think she’s like, ‘I need to go send somebody to do this for me,’ or ‘I need 15 motherf***ers around me,’ but we just walk out the crib. Me, I hate cameras. I don’t like people in my business.
“Going into a situation like that, you’d think it would be a whole public fest. You never know. ‘Maybe she’s into all the photos, or worried about this and that.’ And then you realise she is normal as possible. I realised what really mattered to her, which is none of this s**t. She’s the coolest motherf***er of all time.”
And the ‘Butterfly Effect’ hitmaker would like to get married to Kylie “soon” but he wanted to “propose in a fire way” first.
He shared: “We was just two kids, f***ing around. Maybe, like, the first week, you don’t know if it’s real or a fling. Then the second week you’re like, ‘Whoa, I’m still talking to her, she’s responding, I’m responding. We ain’t run out of a thing to say.’ And it got to a point where I was like, ‘I need her with me to operate. She’s that one.’ We’ll get married soon. I just gotta sturdy up – I gotta propose in a fire way.”
