Danny Miller ‘messed up so many auditions’ because of his anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Miller “messed up so many auditions” when he first left ‘Emmerdale’ because of his anxiety.
The soap star was just 17 years old when he joined the ITV show in 2008 as Aaron Dingle, and he admitted he found it very tough when he left four years later and looked to expand his horizons as an actor.
Opening up about mental health in the new episode of the ‘#WatchRoss’ podcast for Actonthis.tv, he revealed: “When I spread my wings, went out there into the deep, deep sea – because that’s what it is. It’s huge and intimidating.
“And I went out there with a profile, if you will – a lot of people are still there without a profile trying to make it. So I knew I was going to be a little step ahead. Whether I took that for granted or not, I don’t know. But I messed up so many auditions because I couldn’t control my anxiety.”
A year after leaving the soap, he landed a role in crime drama ‘Scott & Bailey’, which saw him star as Sgt. Rob Waddington – the boss of Janet Scott (Lesley Sharp) and Rachel Bailey (Susanne Jones) – and he admitted joining the cast in its third series was a tough experience.
Danny – who returned to ‘Emmerdale’ in 2014 – added: “It was intimidating. It was a powerful set. It was intimidating for me, I felt completely new to it all. I felt like I shouldn’t be there – I felt like a fraud. I’d never trained for it, I’d never been to drama school, I’d never got that experience.
“I joined ‘Emmerdale’ when i was 17, and I had four great years there, and then decided I wanted to spread my wings into this great business that everybody within ‘Emmerdale’ talked about.”

The pair – who were named Best Group at the 2018 Classic BRIT Awards, and have had two number one albums to their name – last played the idyllic Palace Gardens in 2017.
The final headliner announcement comes after Nile Rodgers and his band added a second show at the extravaganza due to demand.
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmakers – who released their first album in 25 years, ‘It’s About Time’, in September – sold out their first date on June 14, and will now play a second concert at the 3,000 capacity Base Court – one of the Tudor courtyards in the stunning grounds of the historical landmark – on June 15.

Take That’s final show of Greatest Hits Live Tour to air in cinemas

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That’s final show of their ‘Greatest Hits Live Tour’ will be screened live in cinemas nationwide.
The Manchester pop group – comprised of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – have teamed up with CinemaLive to offer their fans the chance to witness their performance at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, South Wales, from the comfort of one of over 600 cinemas in the UK and Ireland on June 8 from 8pm.
According to a press release, there will also be “exclusive cinema content” aired for the big finale, which is part of the ‘Back For Good’ hitmakers’ 30th anniversary celebrations.
The band said: “We’re so excited to be able to bring all our fans together for the last night of our UK tour – it’s going to be a really special night for us.
“To have cinema audiences all around the UK and Ireland joining us here in Cardiff will be incredible – we can’t wait. See you all really soon!”
In 2017, the trio broadcast their ‘Wonderland Tour’ show from The O2, which broke the record to become the highest-grossing live concert cinema screening of all time.
The extensive run of dates in the UK and Ireland kick off on April 12 at Sheffield’s FlyDSA Arena and includes eight stops at London’s The O2.
The ‘Shine’ hitmakers released the album ‘Odyssey’ ahead of the tour, which saw them re-imagine their greatest hits and featured the lead single ‘Pray’, plus hits such as ‘Rule the World’, ‘Relight My Fire’ and ‘Patience’.
The Manchester boyband formed in 1989, along with part-timer Robbie Williams and former member Jason Orange.
There had been talk of both of them rejoining the group for the special milestone.
However, Robbie – who quit Take That in 1995, a year before they originally split, and rejoined from 2009 to 2012 – admitted though he’d love to mark 30 years of the band, he’d only be willing to do it if Jason came back after leaving in 2014.
He said: “I’m up for it. But I don’t know what their calendar says, what my calendar says. I don’t know what their manager says.
“We’d all love to do it. I’d love to get Jason back involved, realistically I don’t think so.
“If we could get Jay back it would be perfect.”
Tickets for the CinemaLive viewing are available on Friday (15.03.19) from www.takethat.com/livecinema

Maya Jama: ‘There’s a long way to go until the beauty industry is diverse’

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama thinks there is a “long way to go” until the beauty industry is completely diverse.
The 24-year-old presenter – who is one of the faces of Maybelline – is known for her flawless, dewy complexion, but she thinks it’s “annoying” that so many cosmetic brands aren’t inclusive and don’t have shades which that match “every” skin tone.
Speaking to Glamour UK, Maya said: “There’s such a long way to go. It’s a struggle to find a shade for every skin tone, especially on a budget. I do think that brands are starting to realise there’s more than one shade of human and we get suntans, too.
“It’s annoying that it isn’t standard. We are in England, we are multicultural so we need colour shades for everyone. Brands need to realise that people have dark skin so we need a shade to suit – and we also get sun tans.”
The BBC Radio 1 host also insisted that social media can be a blessing and curse “at the same time” because it has helped her career progress as a presenter, however, she still gets body-shaming trolls message her daily.
She added: “Social media is a massive gift but a huge curse at the same time. You are your own promotional tool so I’d say if there’s something you’re passionate about, put it out there. Or you can just harass everyone like I did.
“Social has helped my career because as a presenter, you don’t get your personality out as much as you’re promoting someone else so that’s where social media has been helpful for me.”

Evan Rachel Wood studying law

OHMYGOSSIP — Evan Rachel Wood is studying law.
The ‘Westworld’ star is learning the legal professions in between her acting jobs and is “toying with the idea” of taking the bar exam, which allows people to practice law.
Speaking to Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast, she said: “I’ve been studying law this year. I do a lot of domestic violence advocacy work, and part of that is learning everything you can about the laws to see what’s working and what’s not, so yeah, that [studying law] has actually been a thing.
“I have toyed with the idea of passing the bar, to have the knowledge, and because … growing up, my main job was acting, and I obviously did school, and you do school mainly in a trailer on setn, and you’re just doing it so you can work. You’re just kinda rushing through it, you’re not really retaining [any information], at least for me … But my career took off at a really young age, so I … never studied anything like that.”
Evan has been a long time supporter of wider issues, having previously spoken up about being forced to have sex by an abusive ex-boyfriend in a bid have the Sexual Assault Survivors Bill to be passed in all 50 states as it was passed in just nine in 2016.
Most recently, she opened up on social media about how she used to self harm during an abusive relationship and shared her story to raise awareness for domestic violence.
She wrote on Twitter: “2 years into my abusive relationship, I resorted to self harm. When my abuser would threaten or attack me, I cut my wrist as a way to disarm him. It only made the abuse stop temporarily. At that point I was desperate to stop the abuse and I was too terrified to leave.”

Khloe Kardashian needs time to rebuild trust

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian “needs time” to rebuild her trust.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star won’t be dating any time soon as she will need a “significant amount of time” to try and get over her ex-partner Tristan Thompson cheating on her twice, the most recent time with friend Jordyn Woods.
A source told People magazine: “She just needs time. It’s going to take so long for her to rebuild trust with anyone. This is the second time this has happened … It will take her a long time to date again. A significant amount of time.”
Meanwhile, Khloe and Tristan are said to be “on the same page” when it comes to custody over their 10-month-old daughter True.
An insider shared: “Khloe has True for the majority of the time. Khloe’s able to bring True or be with her at work, where Tristan can’t. Also, True spends a lot of time with her big family and all the cousins are in LA so it makes the most sense for her to stay with Khloe. Khloe and Tristan may have their issues but Khloe will never deny Tristan a chance to spend time with his daughter. Things may change in the future, but for now Khloe and Tristan are on the same page with True being with Khloe for most of the time.”
Khloe recently blamed the cheating scandal on Tristan – after previously blaming Jordyn.
She wrote: “This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have. Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.
”What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault. I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True. (sic)”

Netflix confirms third A Christmas Prince film

OHMYGOSSIP — Netflix has confirmed a third ‘A Christmas Prince’ film is being made.
The streaming service revealed on Monday (11.03.19) that another instalment of the festive franchise is due this holiday season and will feature a royal baby.
The film’s official Twitter account shared an image of a sonogram of a foetus wearing a crown, with the caption reading: “Some personal news … Baby makes three – ‘A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby’ this holiday season. (sic)”
The original film was released in November 2017 and follows journalist Amber (Rose McIver) who falls in love with Prince Richard (Ben Lamb), the future ruler of the fictitious European nation of Aldovia, after she’s sent out on assignment to write a profile of him.
The second film in the series ‘A Christmas Price: The Royal Wedding’ followed in November 2018 and tries to cope with the pressures of her new royal lifestyle while preparing to marry Prince Richard.
Netflix’s description for this forthcoming film reads: “It’s Christmastime in Aldovia – and a royal baby is on the way!
“Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom to renew an ancient truce, but when the priceless 600-year-old-treaty disappears, peace is put in jeopardy and an ancient curse threatens their family!”
Fans have noticed how the story of Amber and Prince Richard holds similarities with that of former actress Duchess Meghan – who was known as Meghan Markle – and Prince Harry who announced their engagement in 2017, just days after the original film was released.
The sequel was released six months after their wedding at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018 – and the latest instalment of the trilogy has now been announced following the new that the pair are expecting their first child together in the spring.

Brandi Jackson ‘sickened’ by Wade Robson’s allegations against Michael Jackson

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Jackson’s niece Brandi Jackson was “sickened” by “ridiculous” allegations made in the ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary.
The 37 year old – who is the daughter of the late King of Pop’s brother Jackie Jackson – has hit out again at Wade Robson’s claims that Michael sexually abused him from the age of seven until 14 and she insists his accusations describe a man who is not her uncle.
She said: “When I was watching [‘Leaving Neverland’], I was completely sickened by it, to be honest with you. The things that he was saying were so over the top and so ridiculous.
“[Wade] was not describing my uncle. He was describing a totally different person, but not my uncle. And that’s why this is a narrative that has changed… over the last 15 years. Everything that he’s ever said about my uncle is the complete opposite of who he was painting in this documentary.”
Brandi, who has claimed she previously dated Wade for over seven years, also insisted that she “didn’t understand” the decision of the two accusers, the second being James Safechuck, to not speak out about the sexual abuse when the singer went on trial for the alleged molestation of Gavin Arvizo in 2005, a case in which he was acquitted of all charges.
She added: “Part of what I have to say to that is, with Wade saying that he was afraid [he and Michael] would go to jail [if he revealed the abuse], Wade was a grown man when he testified the second time. And if someone had been … abusing you when you were 14 years old, and you had a chance to go on the stand and put that man away for the rest of his life so that he couldn’t hurt anyone else, you’d do it. You would. I can understand when he was a child if he was too afraid to do such a thing, that makes sense. But as a grown man, it doesn’t.”
Brandi also spoke about how hard Dan Reed’s documentary has been on the ‘Thriller’ singer’s three children, Prince Michael, 22, Paris, 20, and 17-year-old Prince, also known as Blanket.
Speaking on Australian radio programme ‘The Kyle And Jackie O Show’, Brandi said: “They don’t remember these things from 2005, they didn’t have to go through it in that way.
“So I think that this is their first wave of having to deal with this. And I feel very bad for them. Especially since [Michael is] not here to talk them through it and to explain to them what this is about.”

Andrew Garfield is big Strictly Come Dancing fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield’s “favourite new past time” is to watch ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 35-year-old actor has admitted he was “overly invested” in the 16th series of the BBC ballroom contest and was routing for last year’s winner, Stacey Dooley and her professional partner Kevin Clifton, to take home the coveted glitterball trophy.
Speaking about his love for the series on ‘The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky’ on Virgin Radio, he told the host: “This is the reason I wanted to come and talk to you this morning, I heard you were maybe going to be on it and I think it’s a match made in heaven. On my sabbatical, one of the many things I’ve done and maybe the most important thing I’ve done on my sabbatical, is I’ve realised how important ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is, not only for the British public but for me as an individual.
“It’s my favourite new past time to sit and get overly invested in whether Stacey Dooley would win or not. I hoped she would win and I was very happy to see it. When I heard you were going to do it, I thought you have to give the people what they want and that is what every person in this country wants!”
BBC bosses have already started booking up celebs for 2019 and radio DJ Chris and news reader Huw Edwards are both believed to have signed up.
The professional dancer line-up for this year’s series has also been confirmed with AJ Pritchard, Aljaz Skorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones and Oti Mabuse all performing.
Sarah James, executive producer at BBC Studios, said: “We are delighted that this year’s line-up of professional dancers for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is full of familiar faces and fan favourites.
“This amazing cast of incredibly talented world class professional dancers have provided ‘Strictly’ with some of its most memorable moments over the years and with more exciting announcements to come, plus world renowned choreographer Jason Gilkison also returning to the team. ‘Strictly’ 2019 promises to continue to wow viewers with unforgettable performances as we welcome this dazzling line up of pros back to the ballroom.”

Nick Tilsley ‘capable’ of causing roof collapse for money

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Price has admitted Nick Tilsley’s “bizarre” morals mean he could have caused the factory roof collapse to make money.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star has admitted his character is capable of triggering the horrific incident if it meant claiming the insurance, and he explained where the line lies for Nick.
He said: “Nick’s bizarrely moral in terms of people and danger but not at all in terms of money. If he thought there was no one in the factory, which is meant to be the case on the day of the roof collapse, then yes he could be capable of it.
“The stakes have to be high enough for Nick for him to go that far. Could he use it to his advantage, does he feel he’s got no other options? Nick’s a planner. If he knows there’s no one due to be in there, it could be the perfect opportunity.”
Ben, 47, added his alter ego would even blame it on Carla Connor (Alison King) if it meant he could “move on” without any complications.
He explained: “The roof is already a mess, do a bit more damage and blame it on Carla maybe. If it’s just purely financial, controlled and no one could get hurt then yes, I think he would do it.
“If he can come out of the situation well and move on, then fine.”
Viewers are seeing a darker side to Nick, who stole from his grandmother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) to fund his own barber’s shop, and Ben is thriving on the challenge as an actor.
He said: “Yes it’s great, I don’t worry personally about whether Nick is liked or not liked, I enjoy him being the sort of character where people say ‘ooh I don’t like him, he thinks he’s all that’.
“I like that, I think it’s important for him and his character, and his brother. Neither are that bothered whether people like them or not, they’re out for what they can get, they’re very well matched.
“It’s nice to have come back and see the writers have used that time when he’s been away to reimagine him. It’s nice to come back to a different Nick.”

Emmerdale’s Claire King says it’s ‘liberating’ to age gracefully

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King finds it “liberating” to grow old gracefully.
The 57-year-old soap star will return to ‘Emmerdale’ this week – almost 20 years after she quit the show before making a brief comeback last year – as the evil Kim Tate, and while she had a mini face lift six years ago for Sky Living’s ‘Stitch Me, Lift Me, Tuck Me’, the effects were temporary and she’s now more accepting of his own looks.
She told Closer magazine: “I don’t have fillers or Botox. I’ve tried things in the past for a boost, but now I’ve decided to ditch surgery and just be me.
“It’s liberating – I’ve become a flag-bearer for that sort of thing. I’ve got more jowls and saggy bits, but the lines on my face show what I’ve been through.”
Despite being comfortable in her own skin, Claire admitted she was nervous about stepping back into the spotlight after so long.
She added: “It’s been a long time since I was on screen properly. I’m nearly twice the age I was at the height of Kim Tate, nobody can deny it. I’m getting older, but we all get wrinkles, it’s just a part of life.”
And the actress is excited to make a full time return to the Dales, as she added it is “lovely to be back”.
She said: “It feels like getting back into a comfy pair of slippers – or a pair of old riding boots, I should say!
“It’s lovely to be back, the workload is double now, but it feels good to be kept on my toes. People love to hate Kim, and I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for her.”

Amanda Mealing’s skating past would be unfair on other Strictly celebrities

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Mealing says her figure skating past would make it unfair on other ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ celebrities.
The 51-year-old actress – who was coy when she was asked about the possibility of appearing on the BBC ballroom competition – admitted she has experience on the ice which would definitely make her a strong contender.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (12.03.19), she was asked about the possibility of signing up for the show, and smiled as she said: “I love ‘Strictly’. ‘MasterChef’ and ‘Strictly’ are the only ones [I’d do]…
“I used to be an ice skater. I was point-five of a mark off being junior champion. No, it wouldn’t be fair, would it?”
The ‘Casualty’ star also opened up about the medical drama’s recent crossover episodes with sister show ‘Holby City’, and she admitted there were definite challenges during filming.
She explained: “The shows, individually are so tightly scheduled, if you think about it. On ‘Casualty’, we have 16 or 17 permanent characters, each of which have to be over four episodes – we shoot four at a time.
“So you can imagine scheduling just that one show. Then you have the fact that we’re four months ahead, ‘Holby’ is three months ahead.”
Quizzed about the changes of other crossovers in the future, Amanda – who originally appeared as Connie Beauchamp on ‘Holby City’ from 2004 to 2010 before joining the cast of ‘Casualty’ four years later – simply added: “You never know.”
Her comments come after she admitted being back on her old stomping ground made her nostalgic.
She previously said: “Do you know what? When I was there, I was walking around, thinking, ‘Do you know what? I’d like to come back, I think. I really would.’ I do love it there, I really do. So we’ll see.
“I didn’t realise how much I loved it. I obviously have great affection for the show. But actually being back just reminded me that I have so many happy memories there.
“It’s like an old friend. It’s like putting an old coat back on, and, you know, it’s lovely.”

Daniel Radcliffe sets deadline to make directorial debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe wants to have directed a film and become a father by the time he’s 40.
The 29-year-old actor – who is best known for portraying the titular wizard in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise – is keen to make a move behind the camera and create his own stories for the big screen.
And Radcliffe admits that “in a few years from now” he would like to have a baby with his girlfriend, actress Erin Darke, whom he has been dating since 2013.
In an interview with StarLifestyle, he said: “I would like to start directing in my 30s and try to get at least one film made before I turn 40. And at some point, not immediately, but in a few years from now, I’ll probably be thinking about starting a family. So to get to my 40s and be a dad and have directed one film, I think I’d be very happy.”
Radcliffe went on to explain that since making his name in the wizarding series has found that he has naturally moved away from making big Hollywood movies and instead been more attracted to independent movies and “challenging or weird” scripts such as ‘Swiss Army Man’ in which he played a talking corpse called Manny.
He said: “It’s not a deliberate decision. I go where the scripts are. It’s hard to get anyone to spend money on (scripts that are) too big of a risk. A lot of the big studios, I find the scripts are not as challenging or weird or interesting as the stuff they make in the indie world or even in the TV world.
“So the things that I gravitate to, so far they just happen to be in the indie world. But if there’s something happening in the studios and I love the script, I would love to be a part of some crazy big movie. It’s just about waiting for the right script.”

Lupita Nyong’o learned ukulele for Little Monsters

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o learned to play the ukulele for her role in ‘Little Monsters’.
The 36-year-old actress plays Miss Caroline in the upcoming horror-comedy, a preschool teacher who finds herself in the midst of a zombie outbreak and fights to keep her students alive and uses ukulele sing-alongs of hit songs such as Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ to keep their spirits up.
The ‘Black Panther’ star loved the notion that her alter ego would sing to her students whilst tackling the undead but before making the effort to learn guitar-like instrument she did ask if she would be getting a “ukulele double” for the role.
Speaking on stage at the SXSW Conference and Festival with the film’s writer and director Abe Forsythe, she said: “I love Fraulein Maria in ‘The Sound of Music’ and she’s [Miss Caroline is] my Fraulein. I even asked [Abe], ‘Are you gonna have a ukulele double?'”
To which Forsythe replied: “I told her, ‘No, you can win an Oscar, you can learn to play the ukulele.’ ”
The ‘Us’ star previously revealed that the song ‘Shake It Off’ had helped her through a “hard time professionally” when she was stuck in a “funk” over something in her professional life, but as soon as her friend played her the song, they started dancing and it acted as a release for her.
She recalled: “I was going through a hard time professionally, and I was just in a funk. I was working abroad, and my best friend came to cheer me up. He played ‘Shake It Off’ on his phone, and we just had a dance party in my bedroom.”
The ’12 Years a Slave’ actress even managed to get Taylor, 29, to personally clear the track so it could be used in ‘Little Monsters’ after the team behind comedy-horror were struggling to get the rights.
She added: “It meant a lot to me that this film had that [song]. And so when I heard that they were having a hard time [getting the rights] I wrote Taylor Swift myself and asked her, and told her that story. And she said yes!”

Top Strictly teacher Oti Mabuse

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse has boasted that she can make any novice dancer look “amazing” with hard work.
The 28-year-old Latin and ballroom expert will be back on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this year and she insists with her tough work ethic she could make any beginner realise their full potential on the dancefloor.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Oti said: “You have a choice to work four hours a day but we would do 10. I can make a beginner, anyone with no dance experience, look amazing if we put in the hours. I am so strict. I take it really seriously, because I would be doing you a disservice if I couldn’t push you to your fullest, if I was like, ‘OK, 20 per cent is enough.’ I genuinely think people don’t know their own potential – until someone comes and demands it of you, saying, ‘I see more. I believe in you!’ ”
Oti – who acted as a ‘Dance Captain’ on Simon Cowell’s new talent show for the BBC, ‘The Greatest Dancer’ – believes a great dancer is someone who can “communicate” through their art and use their skills to “make people cry” and move them emotionally.
