Gabrielle Union makes dreams come true

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union loves “making dreams come true” on ‘America’s Got Talent’.
The 46-year-old actress has joined the panel of the talent show and, after experiencing rejection in the past, she’s enjoying getting the change to help others fulfill their ambitions.
She said: “I love being a part of making dreams come true. As an artist who gets told no a lot, it’s nice to be a part of saying yes to someone’s dream.”
Fellow panel newcomer Julianne Hough – who used to be a judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ believes she and Gabrielle have brought “empathy and compassion” to the show.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “One thing that Gabrielle and I bring is an empathy and a compassion, because we have been rejected many times, and we know what it feels like.
“So before [the contestants] even come out, they should know we’re rooting for you and we want to see your best.”
The two women have joined Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel on the panel in place of Mel B and Hedi Klum but they insist they are not there to “fill anybody’s shoes”.
Julianne said: “You can never take anybody’s spot. We’re not here to fill anybody’s shoes. We could never replace Heidi or Mel. I just feel so grateful that now we get to be here.”
While former Spice Girls singer Mel famously locked horns with Simon on several occasions, Gabrielle insisted she won’t be as combative.
She said: “I don’t generally disagree with most things he’s saying, except perhaps tone-wise.
“But I like straight shooters, and when you are on the other side of the table, when people say no it’s always helpful to know exactly what you can go home and work on. And he doesn’t just say, ‘No, you suck.'”
‘America’s Got Talent’ – with new host Terry Crews – returns to TV in May.

Danny DeVito ‘in’ for nude scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny DeVito loves “taking his clothes off” on film.
The 74-year-old actor claims one of the reasons why he was happy to reunite with his frequent collaborator Tim Burton on the live action version of ‘Remake’ was the director told him he got to bare all in the bathtub but he joked he was disappointed he didn’t get to flash as much flesh as when he played ringmaster Amos Calloway in ‘Big Fish.
Asked the differences between Amos and his ‘Dumbo’ ringmaster Max Medici, he said: “No different. He’s a showman. He’s not as slick and maybe not as savvy as ‘Big Fish’, but he’s a showman, he’s a barker, he’s a guy who wants to get people in to have a good time and enjoy themselves. It’s kind of like what I’m doing now. Just want everybody to have a good time, really feel good, be happy to be here, buy a lot of peanuts.
“I do have a nude scene [in ‘Dumbo’]! But I’m nude in the bathtub so you don’t see it. But I did in ‘Big Fish’ get up and you got to see my toosh.
“But when [Tim] told me, ‘There’s a scene in a bathtub’, I said, ‘I’m in baby!’ Try to keep Danny from saying the wrong words and taking his clothes off!”
Danny admitted he would have “done anything” to work with Tim on ‘Dumbo’ and can’t wait to see what they do next together.
He told Screen Rant: “This is the completion of the circus trilogy. You know, we did the ‘Batman’. I don’t know… when he called, he said exactly that, ‘We gotta complete the circus trilogy.’
“And I was so excited because I’m a big fan of ‘Dumbo’, and I love Tim and would do anything to be in that movie with him. I don’t know why he thinks of me for that. But what are we going to do next, who knows? Something really weird. Really, an understatement.”

Kerry Katona wants family TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona wishes she had her own reality show.
The 38-year-old singer believes a fly-on-the-wall programme in her home would keep the nation entertained because she and her children, Molly, 17, Lilly-Sue, 16, Heidi, 11, Max, 10, and four-year-old Dylan-Jorge are very funny.
She wrote in her column for new! magazine: “It’s a shame we haven’t got our own reality show as the nation would be so entertained by us.
“The banter between me and the girls is brilliant, not to mention the arguments.
“Lilly’s being a typical teen at the minute – her attitude stinks. She can’t even take five minutes to empty the dishwasher.
“It’s not all fun and games – it’s hard work being a single mum.”
Kerry’s oldest daughter made an appearance on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – which is helping the former Atomic Kitten star look for love again – and the star revealed she was such a hit, the teenager could even land her own show.
She said: “Everyone loved my Molly’s cameo on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ last week and now I can reveal she’s had some TV offers!
“Nothing is confirmed yet…
“She’s a natural on camera and super funny… a bit like her mother. In fact, all the kids are.”
This isn’t the first time Kerry has revealed her TV ambitions because she recently admitted she’s hoping Kym Marsh’s departure from ‘Coronation Street’ after 13 years could pave the way for her to land a role on the soap.
She said: “I was sad to see Kym Marsh is leaving ‘Coronation Street’ but if that frees up a space in the cast, then ITV, you know who to call!
“I reckon I’d be brilliant behind the bar at the Rovers. Can’t you just see me as the new Bet Lynch?
“I love acting and without a doubt ‘Corrie’ is my favourite soap. I’m always up for an audition.”

Chrissy Teigen lost Luna’s hamster called Peanut Butter on the day they bought it

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen lost her daughter’s hamster the day she bought her.
The ‘Lip Sync Battle’ star and two-year-old Luna were delighted to welcome the adorably-named Peanut Butter into their home this week, but it took an awkward turn when the pet escape its cage and went on the run.
Sharing the drama with her Twitter followers, she wrote: “Welp the hamster got out. just what you all told me would happen (sic)”
Thankfully, she later revealed they had found the small animal, and told fans to should “stop yelling” as she joked she got the hamster “a two story glass condo with a hammock”.
Chrissy – who admitted her husband John Legend was “not thrilled” by the new addition to their family – had already asked her followers for tips on looking after her new furry friend.
In a series of tweets, she said: They told us we can feed her anything. My mom said ‘rice?’ And they go ‘no, not rice’… They also said ‘don’t really touch her for a week. Then touch her a lot or she’ll bite you’ it’s very confusing, being a hamster mom…
“I said #should I get two so they can have a friend?’ And the lady said no, one will end up with a lot of bully scars. So any hamster tips are welcome
“Please don’t feel bad for her. We got her everything and more and a giant space to roam in. If I had a safe enclosure for a hamster farm, i would have that. (sic)”
The supermodel’s fans are used to her hilarious and honest tweets, and last month Chrissy – who also has 10-month-old son Miles with her spouse – revealed she felt like “absolute s**t” after drinking too much at the Academy Awards.
She wrote: “Oh my god I feel like absolute s**t … I hereby go sober for at least the week. Booze is poison.”

Sam Thompson confirms he has left Made In Chelsea

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Thompson has confirmed he has quit ‘Made In Chelsea’ after six years because of his split from co-star Sophie ‘Habbs’ Habboo.
The reality star broke up with fellow ‘MIC’ cast member Habbs last year and he has now admitted he will not be part of Series 17 of the E4 show and he made the decision to step away because he didn’t want to have to constantly see his ex and also most of the cast on the programme are Sophie’s friends rather than his.
However, Sam insists bosses have told him that the door is open for him to go back “at some point”.
Speaking on the ‘Heart Breakfast Show with Jamie and Lucy’, he said: “The door is not shut at all and I can imagine myself probably going back at some point. Do you know what, I haven’t really had time to sort of sit down and think about it because I’ve just been so busy recently – you know my aim in life is to be a presenter, that’s my dream, I love it to absolute bits.
“Look I think I’ll be back at some point so I’m not too sad because everyone takes a break every now and then from stuff.”
Opening up about his former flame Sophie, he added: “Yeah no it definitely did for sure. At the start I think that is why I kind of left in the first place. It was just hard. You don’t wanna be around your ex do you know what I mean? And everyone on there is kind of now more her friend and lot of my friends have sort of upped and left.”
The 26-year-old star is currently appearing on matchmaking series ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and viewers have seen him develop a close friendship with former ‘TOWIE’ cast member Pete Wicks as they both try and find love.

Issa Rae gained ‘new money weight’

OHMYGOSSIP — Issa Rae gained “new money weight” when she first found fame.
The ‘Insecure’ actress was “very, very broke” when she caught the eye of TV executives with her YouTube series ‘The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl’ and as she grew more successful, she enjoyed having the means and the opportunity to eat out more.
She told the new issue of Women’s Health magazine: “When the Web series started, I was very, very broke.
“Then more opportunities began to come. I was gaining New Money Weight. When you get a new job, you’re like, ‘I can afford to eat at restaurants all the time!’ That adds up in weight.”
But after seeing herself on TV, the 34-year-old star vowed to change her habits and was determined to “make time” to work out.
She said: “Time to work out is so limited, but when I first started seeing myself on TV, I was like, ‘I gotta make time.”
However, Issa kept making excuses not to eat well and exercise regularly.
She admitted: “I was a big excuse person when it came to exercising and eating right.
“I’d have spurts of trying to work out and be good. Then once I fell off, I’d be like, ‘Well, there’s always next year. Let me make it my New Year’s revolution.’
“Even then, I would still be eating wrong while exercising vigorously.”
These days, Issa wakes up at 4.55am in order to fit in some exercise – but she still doesn’t enjoy it.
She said: “I exercise for, like, an hour each day. My neighborhood has a bunch of hills. Then I alternate between walking and jogging.
“I hate jogging – you’re going in circles. I recognise that it helps.”
But Issa has been finding some special “moments” during her workouts.
She said: “You know those earbuds that you put in your ears? I was running, and one fell.
“It was dark outside and I couldn’t find it. So I was forced to be alone with my thoughts, and I was like, ‘Oh, I need to do this more often.’ Those moments are the most creative.
“I think finding those moments while also nurturing your body is important.”

Thandie Newton was ‘supportive’ for teen daughter during Dumbo filming

OHMYGOSSIP — Nico Parker has praised her mum Thandie Newton for being incredibly “supportive” during the filming for ‘Dumbo’.
The 14-year-old rising star – who is the daughter of the ‘Westworld’ actress and her filmmaker husband Ol Parker – has revealed that her mother has been very “helpful” during the filming of the upcoming Disney live-action remake, in which she plays Milly Farrier, but made sure not to “intimidate” the young starlet with too much advice.
Speaking to Variety at the ‘Dumbo’ premiere in Los Angeles, she said: “[Thandie’s] Not [given] acting advice. I think she kind of stayed away from it because it would probably intimidate me a bit, but she’s been very helpful through this whole experience and very supportive.”
The film’s producer Derek Frey also insisted that viewers will not be disappointed with the Tim Burton directed movie, especially the way the filmmaker has treated the famous pink elephant scene that featured in the original 1941 classic.
Frey added: “Well it was in the script, and when I read the script, I was so happy it was. And that was the moment I said, ‘People are really going to wonder ‘What is Tim Burton’s take on pink elephants’ and it was one of the last scenes that kind of came together because Tim wanted to see how the movie shaped before he formulated that scene.
“I don’t think anybody’s going to be disappointed I think a lot of people are going to be interested in what that scene is going to be, and how weird it’s going to be and strange and I think they’re gonna definitely feel rewarded by what they see.”

Britney Spears musical in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — A Britney Spears musical is in the works.
The 37-year-old singer’s songs will provide the soundtrack to ‘Once Upon a One More Time’, a tale that “explores an alternative arc for some classic fairy tale princesses”, theatre owner James L. Nederlander has announced.
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker is “so excited” about the project and has already attended some of the readthroughs of the script.
She said in a statement: “I’m so excited to have a musical with my songs — especially one that takes place in such a magical world filled with characters that I grew up on, who I love and adore.”
The show – which will feature 23 of Britney’s songs, including her biggest hits and “a couple of deep album cuts” will begin previews in Chicago on October 29 ahead of opening on November 13 until December 1 at the James M. Nederlander Theater, and will then look to transfer to New York’s prestigious Broadway theatre district.
A plot summary for the show reads: “In the show, a fortnightly book club whose members include Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty, is working its way through a collection of the Grimms’ fairy tales — the only book they have.
“But when the women wish for new reading material, a fairy godmother brings them Ms. [Betty] Friedan’s feminist classic, ‘The Feminine Mystique’, and their lives are altered in unexpected ways.”
Kristin Hanggi will direct the show, and the book has been written by Jon Hartmere, who promised it will be “superfun and funny”.
He said: “These women have been in this hermetically sealed world, and then they start to get deeper into modern ideas — second and third-wave feminism — and also explore how stories are passed down to us, and where we get our norms from. But it’s also superfun and funny.”

Eliza Dushku ‘healing’ following harassment settlement

OHMYGOSSIP — Eliza Dushku is “healing” following her sexual harassment settlement.
The 38-year-old actress was revealed in December to have been paid $9.5 million in a settlement from CBS when she accused her former ‘Bull’ co-star Michael Weatherly of harassment.
And after moving to Boston to study holistic psychology at Lesley University and start a family with her husband Peter Palandjian – with whom she is currently expecting her first child – Eliza says she’s on the path to wellness.
She said: “I need the distance to recalibrate and start a family. But I don’t want people to think coming forward means ending your career. I could be acting. I could be in L.A. I just need to be here right now.
“[I don’t regret the settlement being out in the open]. Humans need a cohesive narrative for who they are. And we’re as sick as our secrets. So naming our secrets – that’s a part of healing.”
The ‘True Lies’ star isn’t allowed to speak about her case after she was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and has said she is against the idea of the agreement as she believes it “re-victimises” people.
She added: “We’re talking in code. NDAs re-victimise people. They give more power to the powerful. And as the less powerful person, you have to live in someone else’s f***ed up version of reality.”
But Eliza says she’s still “angry” about the situation, as she claims people on set of the drama series “knew” about the alleged harassment and didn’t do anything to help her.
Speaking to Time magazine, she said: “I guess what makes me angry is people knew. Important people knew. They could have done something. And they didn’t.”

R Kelly interview ‘helped’ him

OHMYGOSSIP — R. Kelly’s publicist believes his CBS interview “helped” him.
The ‘Ignition’ hitmaker – who was recently charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse – sat down for an interview with Gayle King last week in which he ranted at the camera, paced the room and grew increasingly heated as he maintained his innocence, but his spokesperson Darrell Johnson thinks it was important the 52-year-old singer showed his true self.
Darrell told CNN: “The interview needed to happen – I really do believe it. Yes, I think it did help him. I don’t think the emotions going so high (helped) but I think he was being himself.”
And the publicist is unsure how anyone in Kelly’s position would have behaved under the circumstances.
He said: “If I was facing 70 years in the state penitentiary, I’m not going to say I would act like that. But how do you act when you’re going to spend the rest of your life in prison?”
Darrell was also quizzed about the ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ singer’s relationship with his “girlfriends” Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary – whose families claim they are being held against their will – and insisted they have the freedom to leave if they want to.
He said: “I’ve been with Mr. Kelly for three weeks, six hours a day. I have the keys. I can walk into his apartment.
“I take his phone at will. Half the time, he’s not even there. Half the time, he’s playing basketball, at the cigar lounge, things he likes to do to calm his mind. Those young ladies come freely.
“The accusation is that these two young ladies in the home with him now are brainwashed, behind held hostage, not being fed, in some black room being told what to say. I’ve been there and I’ve not seen that.”
Meanwhile, Gayle recently admitted she wasn’t “scared” by her interviewee’s behaviour.
She said: “I was not scared. I never thought he was going to hit me.
“After, Oprah [Winfrey] and my kids Kirby and Will called me to ask if I was okay because it looked scary. But I was never worried he was going to hurt me. I was more worried that he was going to get up and leave.
“So what I was really thinking to myself was: I’m not done with this interview, so I’m going to let him have his moment. If I stood up even to comfort him, that could have been his invitation to say ‘This is over.’ So I didn’t interrupt his anger and let him have that.”

Lesley Joseph says Birds of a Feather may return

OHMYGOSSIP — Lesley Joseph has claimed ‘Birds of a Feather’ could return if she and her co-stars Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson are all available at the same time.
The 73-year-old actress played maneater Dorien Green for the beloved sitcom’s initial run on BBC One between 1989 and 1998 and then reprised the role when the show was picked up by ITV over from January 2014 for a three-year revival.
A fourth series for ITV was commissioned but is yet to be filmed which means the show is off air in 2019, however, despite reports it has been completely axed from the schedule Lesley insists Dorien could be reunited with friends Sharon Theodopolopodous (Pauline) and Tracey Stubbs (Linda).
In an interview on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, Lesley said: “Never say never. Watch this space. I have to rely on three people all being available at the same time.”
Refusing to give a time frame for a possible return, she added: “I don’t know to be honest. We’re not really free this year; I’m not free this year I’m doing ‘Calendar Girls’ and then ‘Annie’ and then panto as I always do. So I never say never this just didn’t fit in so hopefully next year. Who knows?”
Lesley is very proud of the programme and insists it was “groundbreaking” when it first hit screens because it was one of the first sitcoms based around female characters.
She said: “It came out 30 years ago this year and it was trailblazing because I think it was one of the first times that three women of a certain age had actually led a situational comedy on television so it was completely groundbreaking.
“I think we had something like 300 complaints on the first episode because I think it was Pauline who said ‘bloody!’ How times have changed!”

David Bowie’s Starman demo up for auction

OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie’s ‘Starman’ demo is up for auction.
A collection containing one of the first recorded versions of the hit song – which featured on his 1972 album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ – will be sold at Omega Auctions in Merseyside tomorrow (13.03.19), and it is expected to fetch over £10,000.
The demo – which also contains early versions of ‘Moonage Daydream’ and ‘Hang Onto Yourself’- was discovered after languishing in a loft for 50 years.
It’s said the tape recording was made in 1971 by Bowie with his guitarist Mick Ronson, who later gave it to his friend Kevin Hutchinson who wanted to learn how to play ‘Starman’.
Speaking to the Press Association, Hutchinson said: “Now I’m 65 and I played it, I just couldn’t believe how good it is, but at the time, I thought: ‘it’s not bad’. At 16 you’re not totally impressed, nothing impresses you.
“I found it and got my old tape recorder out of the loft as well and threaded the tape into the machine. We couldn’t believe it when we heard it. It’s superb.”
The demo ends with the iconic musician telling his pal Ronson that the song isn’t finished when he tries to end the track.
Hutchinson explained: “You can tell that Mick has never heard the song before because at the end he is just about to turn the tape recorder off and Bowie says: ‘Hang on. There’s a little bit more.”
Dan Hampson, assistant auction manager, confirmed the validity of the demo saying: “In consultation with a Bowie expert, we can say with confidence that this tape contains a very early and possibly the first ever demo version of ‘Starman’.
“There’s a lot of Bowie mythology around the writing of this timeless classic, and the raw and truly beautiful version heard here helps to provide a fascinating insight into the creative process of a bona fide genius.”

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s kids helped with proposal

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s children were a “driving force” in Alex’s decision to propose.
The former baseball star popped the question to the ‘Shades of Blue’ actress over the weekend, and sources have now said his two children – Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10, whom he has with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis – as well as Jennifer’s 11-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she has with ex-husband Marc Anthony, were instrumental in the planning for the romantic moment.
A source said of their wedding plans: “The couple loves to entertain and have fun, and their wedding will be nothing short of incredible. Their kids will play a big part in their wedding, as they were a driving force in the proposal.”
Insiders also say 49-year-old Jennifer was “shocked” by the proposal, as although they’d spoken about marriage before, she wasn’t expecting the 43-year-old sportsman to pop the question that day.
The source added: “Jennifer was shocked as the two talked about marriage, but she wasn’t aware he’d be proposing that day.”
And although wedding preparations aren’t underway just yet, the couple already know they want to invite their family and friends to watch them tie the knot when the big day arrives.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the source said: “Both Alex and Jennifer have been married before, and official wedding planning hasn’t started, but the two do want to celebrate the day with their family and famous friends.”
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed Alex “did everything on his own” on the lead up to his proposal, including purchasing the mega-carat emerald-cut sparkler he presented Jennifer with.
An insider said: “He did everything on his own with the ring. It was a complete surprise [to Jen].”
