Tom Baker slams Rowan Atkinson

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Baker has slammed Rowan Atkinson for not being “very fun to work with”.
The 85-year-old actor portrayed sailor Captain Redbeard Rum in an episode of ‘Blackadder II’ and claims the 64-year-old star – who played the titular lord – was so “anxious”, he didn’t have a good time filming his scenes.
He said: “It was an incredible performance. Some people were amazed I ever worked again.
“Rowan Atkinson was so anxious – he wasn’t very fun to work with.”
And Tom claimed Rowan urged him to make his performance as “boring” as possible and said it was advice given to all guest stars on the historical comedy.
He added to Radio Times magazine: “You know Tom, I’m very experienced in this and the part you’re playing here, this sea captain, I think you’re actually doing too much. I think he should be as boring as you can make him.
“So, we then had the final run-through, and I did this boring routine, and the producer came down and said, ‘What’s going on, are you ill?’ ‘I said, ‘No, no, no, I’m just taking in the notes from your boss’.
“And he then said, ‘Tom, he does that every week. He gives those same notes to the visitors every week.’
“Weird isn’t it? A comic genius and yet he has these anxieties.”
Tom is best known for playing the lead role in ‘Doctor Who’ from 1974 to 1981 and he believes portraying the Time Lord “liberated” his acting style.
And he added: “I’ve been playing him ever since.”

Leigh Francis considered leaving Celebrity Juice

OHMYGOSSIP — Leigh Francis almost quit ‘Celebrity Juice’ after Fearne Cotton decided to leave.
The 45-year-old comic – who presents the quiz as his alter ego Keith Lemon – revealed he and team captains Fearne and Holly Willoughby had a pact for them all to walk away from the show together but he realised he still loves working on the programme too much to step down.
He said: “Initially I said, ‘That’s it, I’m leaving too.’ It’s been 10 years and Holly, Fearne and I don’t see each other all the time, but we’re a close group of mates.
“Ages ago we said to each other if one goes, we all go. After I found out Fearne was leaving, I went to bed and slept on it and woke up the next day thinking that I can’t leave the show because I still enjoy it so much.”
And Leigh was delighted when ‘This Morning’ host Holly admitted she wasn’t planning to leave either.
He added: “I thought, ‘If Holly leaves because Fearne is then that really is the end, I’m not doing it without them both.’
“But then I spoke to Holly and the first thing she said was, ‘Who are we going to get then?’ I said: ‘So you’re still up for it then?’ and she said, ‘Of course!’ She did say she thought she would be the first to leave though. I thought so, too.”
Paddy McGuinness, a frequent guest on the programme, is stepping in to replace Fearne and the presenter advised him to get drunk before they start filming.
He is quoted as saying: “He needs to drink like I do and as Holly does! You know what, we just never know what’s going to happen because it changes at the last minute.
“It’s really naughty, but on the night it’s quite booze-fuelled naughtiness. Everyone has their inhibitions pushed to the curb. Everyone knows what they are getting into after 10 years so people don’t get too offended.
“Holly, she’s a robot! She’s Holly Willough-boozy. She’ll always win a drinking competition. I don’t know how she does it. Like at the National TV Awards, she gets boozed up and then goes to work the next day.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Red Hot Chili Peppers will live-stream their concert from the Pyramids in Egypt.
The ‘Give It Away’ hitmakers are set to perform the special concert from the Pyramids of Giza – one of the seven wonders of the world – on March 15, with people all over the world able to tune via the band’s website at 6pm BST (11am PT).
Anthony Kiedis and co follow in the footsteps of music royalty, including the late great Frank Sinatra, Mariah Carey and Sting in performing at the Pyramids.
Bass player Flea’s “heart is abuzz” ahead of the once-in-a-life time concert.
He said: “Before each new place my body tingled with excitement, a yearning for a new mystery to unfold, a fascination with a new culture, the possibility of new friends, tasting new food, smelling new tastes, absorbing new rhythms.
“Learning. Learning. Learning. It is happening again right now, my heart is abuzz with joy at the prospect of performing in Egypt. I’m so grateful and humbled for the impending experience.”
He continued: “The pyramids, it’s unbelievable, we just jumped at the opportunity… I have always been fascinated by Egypt and that region of the world and I am so excited to go.”
The Grammy winners – completed by drummer Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer – haven’t released an album since 2016’s ‘The Getaway’, but they were in the studio working on a follow-up last year, until the California wildfires “halted” their progress.
Chad said recently: “We started to work on [the new album], which, for us, is just getting in a room and making some noise and putting some notes together.
“And then the fires came, and the house we were working in – there was no damage, it didn’t burn down, but we couldn’t get back in there. So that halted our [progress].”

Madness ‘talking’ about reviving Our House musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Madness are “talking” about bringing back their musical ‘Our House’ as part of their 40th anniversary.
The iconic London ska band’s Olivier Award-winning show, which was co-written by Tim Firth, had a 10-month run at the Cambridge Theatre in the British capital’s theatre district between 2002 and 2003, and it could be returning for the band’s milestone celebrations.
Frontman Suggs – who had a brief stint playing Joe’s dad in the show – told the Daily Star newspaper: “We are talking about reviving it a bit.
“The problem was when we put it out the first time it was such an expensive production, as we wanted it to be the best it can be, and so the production itself was crippling the expenses.”
‘Our House’ – which is also the title of the band’s 1982 hit from the ‘Rise & Fall’ album – is also a touring show and Suggs says if it comes back, it will still be the same production but refreshed.
He added: “Now it’s the most popular amateur musical that has been performed.
“There’s probably 40 versions of that show on at any time in England so we are trying to work out a way, not losing the production, but revitalising it.”
The ‘Baggy Trousers’ hitmakers have also announced two major outdoor London shows and a book for their big 40th.
The band will bring their ‘Madness XL’ show to Kenwood House in North London on June 15, where they will be joined by a full orchestra as part of the Heritage Live concert series.
They’ll then play their very own House Of Common festival at Clapham Common in South London on August 26.
Teasing their epic plans to celebrate the past four decades of the iconic group, the 58-year-old singer said: “40 years at the coal face of modern popular culture. Man and boy.
“Dedicated to the purveyance of popular music of quality and distinction to the people.
“Dedicated in our selfless quest to have the nation singing, dancing and making merry through some of the darkest times of the last four decades.
“There will be feasts, street parties extraordinary concerts of every shape and size up and down the nation.”
As well as the two shows, the band – who have released 12 albums since forming in Camden, London, in 1976 – are also set to release the new autobiography ‘Before We Was We’ on September 26, which “tells the story of how Madness became Madness”.
Madness are also in the studio working hard on new music, which is set to be released later this year.
Their last full length effort was 2016’s ‘Can’t Touch Us Now’.

Rixton change name to Push Baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Rixton are now known as Push Baby.
Jake Roche and co were dropped by their label Interscope (Universal), who they’d been signed to since their debut album ‘Let The Road’ – which featured the number one single ‘Me And My Broken Heart’ – was released in 2015, last August.
But the band – completed by Lewi Morgan, Danny Wilkin and Charley Bagnall – are now working with Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s manager Scooter Braun under his SB Projects, and are starting afresh with the new name.
The band will kickstart their new chapter with the release of their comeback single ‘The Running Jump’, with more material set to follow.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Rixton only ever managed to get one album out and it peaked at just No19.
“They still believe they have huge potential though so they have decided to rebrand the band entirely.
“Over the past four years they’ve created Push Baby and have started working on new material including a song called ‘The Running Jump’.
“They’re really hoping this is going to be the start of something big.”
The band have also rebranded their YouTube and Jake – whose parents are soap star Shane Richie and ‘Loose Women’ panellist Coleen Nolan – quipped that he hoped news of their new name will bring up their details rather than childbirth.
He wrote on their profile: “Hopefully by the time anybody is reading this, the search results of Push Baby will be more than just women giving birth.”
Rixton attempted a comeback in December 2016, with the release of ‘I Swear She’ll Be The Death Of Me’, which they released on Soundcloud, and was believed to have been about Jake’s split from Little Mix star Jesy Nelson.
Scooter helped launch their career by adding them as the main support act for ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ singer Ariana in America in 2015.

Dara Ó Briain to ban classic ‘Blockbusters’ catchphrase in revival

OHMYGOSSIP — Dara Ó Briain wants to ban a classic ‘Blockbusters’ catchphrase.
The 47-year-old comedian admitted he was “shocked” when he began filming the revamped quiz show – which pits students against one another in a test of their general knowledge – and the audience still found it hilarious when the contestants said, “Can I have a P please” when selecting their chosen question on the game board.
Dara hoped people would have got “over” the joke by now and his main aim in hosting the show is to put a stop to the laughter.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “Every time someone said ‘Can I have a P please’ during filming, the audience would laugh and clap. I held my head in my hands.
“I mean we have had 50 years of alternative comedy – and nothing has changed!
“Surely we have evolved past this? I thought we were over this joke? But this is still out level.
“If I can achieve nothing else hosting this show then I want people to get over it.”
The ‘Mock The Week’ comedian previously stated that he was “delighted” about taking over from legendary presenter Bob Holness on the show.
He said: “I’m delighted to take over this classic quiz show, and with it, the speculation that, like Bob Holness, I played the saxophone on the original recording of ‘Baker St’. For the record, I did not, although I did play the Marimba on ‘I Shot the Sheriff’.
The bosses at Comedy Central also believe that the cheeky host will be the “perfect quizmaster” for the upcoming reboot.
Louise Holmes, Vice President, General Manager, Comedy Central UK, added: “Dara O’Briain, is the perfect quizmaster for the comedy reboot of this nostalgic show. That famous ‘Blockbusters’ theme tune will once again be hummed in living rooms up and down the country very soon!”

The Manchester pop group – comprised of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – have teamed up with CinemaLive to offer their fans the chance to witness their performance at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, South Wales, from the comfort of one of over 600 cinemas in the UK and Ireland on June 8 from 8pm.
According to a press release, there will also be “exclusive cinema content” aired for the big finale, which is part of the ‘Back For Good’ hitmakers’ 30th anniversary celebrations.
The band said: “We’re so excited to be able to bring all our fans together for the last night of our UK tour – it’s going to be a really special night for us.

The ‘Shine’ hitmakers released the album ‘Odyssey’ ahead of the tour, which saw them re-imagine their greatest hits and featured the lead single ‘Pray’, plus hits such as ‘Rule the World’, ‘Relight My Fire’ and ‘Patience’.
The Manchester boyband formed in 1989, along with part-timer Robbie Williams and former member Jason Orange.

“We’d all love to do it. I’d love to get Jason back involved, realistically I don’t think so.

Beyoncé is ‘scared of eye shadow’ now she’s ‘grown up’

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé is getting “scared of eye shadow” as she gets older.
Make-up artist Sir John Barnett has revealed the 37-year-old singer is careful about how much product she uses on her eyes since she’s “grown up” and instead experiments with “statement lips” and “blush”.
In an interview with Britain’s HELLO! magazine, he said: “I will say though, now she’s grown up – she’s getting scared of eye shadow in a way that might speak to other women who are maturing.
“She’s saying ‘How much is too much’ so we experiment with statement lips and play around with blush.”
The L’Oreal ambassador praised the ‘Hold Up’ hitmaker for being able to do a “good basic face” of make-up with “beautiful blush” and a “serious lip” when she’s not got him on hand to assist her.
He said: “She does a good basic face. I can tell when she’s done her own make-up because she’ll give herself a brow and she applied liquid eyeliner and mascara.
“She also does a beautiful blush and likes to give herself a serious lip – I’m like ‘Go ahead girl!’
John added that it was actually the ‘Sorry’ singer who taught him how to apply demi-lashes; false eyelashes which are short in the inner corner of the eyes and long at the end.
He said: “She actually taught me how to apply a demi-lash. She talks a strip of lashes and cuts them down and cuts them down and applies the shorter lashes that are supposed to sit in the inner corner of the eye to the outer edge. ”
As for what the star uses when she’s on the move; John insisted that he is “in love” with Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night oil and for a cold climate always packs the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.

Katy Perry questioned Orlando Bloom over relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry questioned if Orlando Bloom was “sure” he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
The ‘Dark Horse’ hitmaker quizzed the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor if he really wanted to marry her after she showed off some of her more unusual dance moves in videos uploaded to Instagram.
In one clip, she can be heard asking Orlando if he’s “sure” that he wants to tie the knot with, making her point known as she captioned the video: “For the rest of his life.”
And on another video, she wrote: “Are you sure, Lando?”
Katy and Orlando announced their engagement in matching posts on social media last month.
Captioning a picture of the two of them, with Katy’s stunning pink diamond floral-shaped ring, on display, she wrote: “Full bloom.”
Whilst Orlando wrote on his own page: “Lifetimes.”
And Katy is said to be convinced Orlando is the “right man for her life” and she is “over the moon” about the thought of married life.
A source explained: “Katy and Orlando have been looking forward to this day for a very long time and they are over the moon to embark on their lifetime commitment. They talked about an engagement even before their breakup in 2017 but Katy wasn’t ready. She just wasn’t ready at first but soon after some time away, she knew Orlando was the right man for her life. They have been very hush, hush about it but have known for a very long time they wanted to be engaged. They have been preparing for this.”
The news initially came as a shock to Katy’s fans as she previously claimed she didn’t expect to marry again after splitting from comedian Russell Brand in 2012.
She said: “I’m very pragmatic and logistical and I am less fantastical about things. I mean, I was married when I was 25. I’m 34. It was almost 10 years ago. I was like, ‘One person for the rest of my life,’ and I’m not so sure that that idea is for me. I’m just such a different person than I was.”

Stacey Solomon’s parenting fail

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon once left her baby son in the supermarket.
The ‘Loose Women’ star has confessed she made a “spectacular parenting fail” soon after her son Zach, now 10, was born.
Writing in her new book ‘Happily Imperfect’, she shared: “I’ve had some spectacular parenting fails in my time. Not long after Zach was born, I was walking around a store, putting stuff in my basket. He was in the buggy and I’d placed the shop basket on top. About 10 minutes later I was queuing at the till when I suddenly felt sure I had another basket or something. That ‘something’, of course, was Zach. I don’t think I’ve ever moved as fast as I did through that store.”
Meanwhile, Stacey – who also has Leighton, six, and is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Joe Swash – previously admitted she finds it tough to monitor her children’s internet activity.
She explained: “One game has a 12 rating and I let Zach play it, even though he’s only 11. I will play the game myself and see what’s in it before I let them play it. They don’t have a mobile phone or Twitter as I don’t think they need those things. But they do have iPads and watch YouTube so I have to be really careful. I have to watch them all the time. Being present and knowing what they are doing is the only way you can be vigilant about it.”
And family is top of the priority for Stacey and Joe.
She added: “That’s what matters to us – the kids come first. When you move in with someone, it’s a really difficult dynamic to manage at first, making sure everyone feels completely included and equal.”
