Brie Larson: Captain Marvel training reduced me to tears

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson was reduced to tears by her punishing training regime for ‘Captain Marvel’.
The Academy Award-winning actress – who stars as the titular character in the new Marvel movie – has admitted she “sobbed in the gym” because of the physical demands of the role.
She shared: “When you’ve been training for that many hours, every day for nine months, I sobbed in the gym, many times. My trainer would be like, ‘Oh, she’s crying again.’
“It’s very emotional, when you’re stirring up something very vulnerable and raw inside of you.
“You also learned that it’s just for you. There was nothing for me to prove. I wasn’t proving it to other people at the gym. I certainly wasn’t proving it to my trainer because he was never going to be fully impressed. It’s his job to not be impressed.
“So, it was for myself. And the main reason for doing it was so that, in moments like this when we’re talking about Carol’s strength and what I learned from her, it’s that I’m stronger than I realised.”
Brie also believes the movie challenges some deep-rooted “gender norms”.
She told Collider: “I can say that I’m really strong. I was able to dead-lift 225 pounds, hip-thrust 400 pounds, and push my trainer’s 5,000-pound Jeep up a hill for 60 seconds.
“When it comes to gender norms, or what the human body is capable of, or what a female body is capable of, it’s capable of a lot.”

Keith Urban gifts guitar to audience member in London

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Urban gave away a guitar to an audience member at his London concert on Friday (08.03.19).
The 51-year-old star was performing at the annual Country To Country music festival at The O2 when he decided to make one lucky fan’s night with the generous gesture.
Speaking from the intimate Spotlight stage in the middle of the crowd, he said: “I wanna give you guys something, something used, maybe from just a couple of Sunday sessions, something slightly sweaty…”
Keith then signed his guitar, picked a woman from the crowd and brought her up on stage to present it to her, to wild applause.
Keith headlined Friday’s show, which featured some of the biggest international country stars, alongside newcomers from Nashville, the UK and Europe.
Coming straight off his ‘Graffiti U’ Australian tour, the star wowed fans with a polished performance of old classics and newer tracks.
He also showed his appreciation for other artists, at one stage launching into a few lines of Preme and Post Malone’s ‘Jackie Chan’ and singing back-up for his guitarist, who performed the chorus of Niall Horan’s ‘Slow Hands’.
Keith – who has daughters Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, eight, with wife Nicole Kidman – also gave a shout-out to International Women’s Day at the end of his gig before going in to the audience to sign autographs and take selfies.
Keith has always been vocal about his love of performing and his belief in its importance for a long and successful career.
He previously said: “If you have a hit song you’ll have an experience, but if you have an audience you’ll have a career.
“There’s always new things to try and learn, but most of it comes from playing when you’re touring and just playing every night.”
Country To Country continues over the weekend with Lady Antebellum headlining on Saturday (09.03.19) and Chris Stapleton on Sunday (10.03.19).

Louis Tomlinson says relationship with Zayn Malik ‘never really got better’

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson’s relationship with Zayn Malik never recovered after he didn’t attend Louis’ tribute performance to his late mother.
The 27-year-old singer has insisted he hopes Zayn is “alright”, but confessed that their friendship “never really got better” after Zayn didn’t attend his ‘X Factor’ performance in December 2016, following the death of his mother Johannah Deakin.
He told ‘The Dan Wootton Interview’ podcast: “Truthfully it never really got better to be honest.
“I had a couple of calls with him after I lost me mum and, you know, all the boys had agreed to come to that performance and he didn’t show and that really bugged me.”
Louis admitted he appreciated the show of support from the other members of One Direction, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.
The pop star – whose mother died following a lengthy battle with leukaemia – shared: “Everyone showed and it was a moment of … I got goosebumps there, and seeing Harry, Niall, and Liam, that was what I needed that night, that support.”
Louis also insisted that the band will reunite one day.
However, he isn’t sure whether Zayn will join the group for the much-discussed reunion.
He said: “I mean that’s a more difficult question then are we going to get back together one day, because I would say with all certainty that we are, but as a five it’s a different question and it’s a hard question to answer.”
Last year, Zayn admitted that his relationship with his former bandmates had “broken apart”.
He revealed: “People take it different ways – especially when there are five different personalities. The relationships had broken apart.
“That’s just the way it is. People move on, people grow apart, people grow up.”

Rose McGowan: America is traumatising

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose McGowan says growing up in America was “traumatising”.
The 45-year-old actress and activist is known for speaking out on issues including sexual harassment and gender inequality, and has said she finds life in America to be “absolutely harrowing” because of the way people have treated her.
Speaking as she visited London’s Fubar Radio this week, she said: I’ve found America absolutely harrowing. America was a lot more traumatising to me actually. I found America much, much more hardcore than the [Children of God] cult. In one state I lived in, I had things thrown at me every day. [People told me]: ‘You’re the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.'”
Rose was one of a number of actresses to speak out against Harvey Weinstein when she accused him of raping her in a hotel room in 1997, and recently said she wishes he would just “fall off the planet”.
She said: “I would just rather he [Weinstein] fall off the planet. I don’t often hold out a lot of hope for justice but I still have that little girl flame inside that’s like, ‘Please, please, please world, do what’s just and right’. But my rational self says, ‘I don’t know’.
“My life will go on. I was tortured by him for a very long time, and I feel like until this person is removed from the planet, it’s an albatross that I’ll carry. And all because somebody else wanted to rape somebody, and was selfish and thief. But that’s what’s cool about my book because it’s not about him, it’s not about #MeToo. It’s about being brave in your own life and that’s what got me here today is being brave in my own life.”
The former ‘Charmed’ star documented her struggles through spending her childhood living as part of the controversial group Children of God and her alleged sexual assault at the hands of Weinstein in her book ‘Brave’.

The 51-year star gave a shoutout to the pair – who secretly tied the knot in a low-key ceremony before Christmas – before launching into the track ‘Parallel Line’, which Ed wrote.
Keith said: “I want to dedicate this song to Ed and Cherry tonight. I love you guys.”
Keith headlined Friday’s show at the annual Country To Country music festival, which features some of the biggest international country stars, alongside newcomers from Nashville, the UK and Europe.

Jussie Smollett maintaining innocence after indictment

OHMYGOSSIP — Jussie Smollett “maintains his innocence” after being indicted with 16 counts of filing a false police report.
The ‘Empire’ star was accused of the felony crime after he alleged he was the victim of a homophobic and racist hate attack on January 29, and was indicted with the charges on Friday (08.03.19), following allegations that the attack was a hoax.
But his lawyer Mark Geragos has slammed the ruling as “prosecutorial overkill”, and insists his client is “adamantly” maintaining his innocence ahead of the case going to trial.
In a statement to People magazine, he said: “The fact of an indictment was not unexpected. We knew that there is no way they would expose their evidence to a public airing and subject their witnesses to cross-examination. What is unexpected, however, is the prosecutorial overkill in charging 16 separate counts against Jussie.
“This redundant and vindictive indictment is nothing more than a desperate attempt to make headlines in order to distract from the internal investigation launched to investigate the outrageous leaking of false information by the Chicago Police Department and the shameless and illegal invasion of Jussie’s privacy in tampering with his medical records. Jussie adamantly maintains his innocence even if law enforcement has robbed him of that presumption.”
Of the 16 new counts, eight charges involve false statements given to Officer Muhammed Baig, while the other eight are for a more detailed account given to Detective Kim Murray.
Jussie had told police he was assaulted at 2am by two men who shouted homophobic and racist slurs at him and put a noose around his neck. In the more detailed account, he claimed that he fought back, and that one of the attackers was white.
The indictment read: “Jussie Smollett knew that at the time of this transmission there was no reasonable ground for believing that such an offense had been committed.”

Kylie Jenner repairing friendship with Jordyn Woods

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner is seemingly trying to repair her friendship with Jordyn Woods.
The 21-year-old lip kit mogul fell out with her best friend after she kissed Tristan Thomspon, the now ex-boyfriend of Kylie’s half-sister Khloe Kardashian and father of her 10-month-old daughter True, at a party last month.
But now, two weeks after the scandal first unfolded, it seems Kylie is trying to patch up her friendship with Jordyn, also 21, as the pair met up for breakfast on Friday (08.03.19) at Pedalers Fork restaurant in Calabasas, California.
A source told E! News: “It seemed very casual and they both were having a discussion together while eating.”
This is the first time the friends have been spotted together in public since Jordyn was accused of locking lips with Tristan, and comes after a source recently claimed the pair were “barely communicating” with each other.
Jordyn moved out of the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star’s home after the incident, and it was claimed this week that whilst they have texted each other, they still haven’t made arrangements for the model to pick up her belonging from her pal’s home.
The brunette beauty also recently appeared on ‘Red Table Talk’ to explain her actions, which she called a drunken mistake and a “dumb move”.
She said: “I’m not thinking, ‘I shouldn’t be here’. That’s my first step where I went wrong. I should have gone home after the party. I shouldn’t even have been there.
“Never once was I giving him a lap dance, making out with him, sitting all over him. It’s just – we’re all together. We’re in a group. Never once did we leave the public area to go to a bedroom, a bathroom – we’re all in plain sight. It was a kiss on the lips, but no tongue kiss. No making out. I don’t think he’s wrong either because I allowed myself to be in that position. When alcohol is involved, people make dumb moves.”

Gwyneth Paltrow praises her current and former mother-in-laws

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated International Women’s Day (08.03.19) with her current and former mother-in-laws.
The 46-year-old actress took to Instagram this week to praise all the fellow women in her life, with a special shoutout dedicated to her current mother-in-law Nancy – who is the mother of Gwyneth’s husband Brad Falchuck – and her first mother-in-law Alison, whose son is the ‘Iron Man’ star’s ex-husband Chris Martin.
Posting a picture of herself with the Alison and Nancy, Gwyneth – who has Apple, 14, and Moses, 12, with Chris – wrote: “The beauty on my left is my mother in law, #nancyfalchuk. The beauty on my right is my first mother in law #alisonmartin. On international women’s day, I want to express my gratitude for all of the women in my life. I love the women in my life! You are nurturers, powerhouses, brainiacs, sisters, comedians all in one. When we are sisters to each other, miracles happen. (sic)”
Gwyneth has kept in close contact with Coldplay frontman Chris in the wake of their 2016 divorce for the sake of their children, and remains close with his family too.
Earlier this week, the ‘Shakespeare in Love’ actress even attended Chris’ 42nd birthday party at his Malibu mansion, where she was joined by the likes of Chris’ girlfriend Dakota Johnson and her mother Melanie Griffith, as well as Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.
The Goop founder – who married producer Brad last year – took to Instagram to share a selfie with the ‘Yellow’ hitmaker with standing by a door with the number 42 painted on it, and gushed that “we love you so much”.
She captioned the sweet post: “Happy Birthday CAJM.
“This is a special one. We love you so much. #42.”

R. Kelly released from jail

OHMYGOSSIP — R. Kelly has reportedly been released from jail.
The ‘Ignition’ hitmaker was arrested this week after he allegedly failed to pay his ex-wife Andrea Lee the $161,000 in child support he had been ordered to hand over for their three children, Joann, 21, Jay, 19, and Robert, 17.
But according to The Blast, the 52-year-old singer was set free from Cook County jail on Saturday (09.03.19) afternoon after he raised the funds needed to pay his debt to Andrea.
At the time of his arrest on Wednesday (06.03.19), a spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he had been taken into police custody after a court hearing, during which he allegedly tried to work out a payment plan with the judge, but was denied.
And although Kelly has been let out of jail, he still faces further court battles as he is due back in court later this month to face 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from allegations made against him by four women, three of whom claim they were under age at the time the alleged incidents took place.
The ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ musician was previously arrested on the counts two weeks ago, where his bail was set at $1 million after Cook County Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. found the allegations made against R. Kelly were very “disturbing”.
Kelly posted his bail a few days later and recently gave an emotional interview in which he insisted allegations against him are “not true”.
He said: “Quit playing, I didn’t do this stuff.
“This is not me. I’m fighting for my f*****g life! Y’all killing me with this s**t! I’ve given you 30 years of my f****g career! 30 years of my career! Y’all trying to kill me! You’re killing me man!
“This is not about music! I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids and I can’t do it! Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth. Y’all don’t want to believe it. This is not true! It doesn’t even make sense! Why would I hold all these women! Their mothers and fathers told me, ‘We’re going to destroy your career.'”

Ricky Gervais is ‘fun all the time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Gervais tries to be fun “all the time”.
The 57-year-old comedian and actor has said he’s in a good place and doesn’t suffer with his mental health, because he thinks life is too short to not enjoy every minute.
He said: “I think I’m pretty happy, [and] I try to be fun all the time. I’m not depressed … I think from an early age I thought the point of life was to have fun every minute of the day … To me, life is exciting, short, finite.”
And the ‘Office’ star says the key to his inner happiness is knowing he has “worth”, and having a good self-esteem.
He added to Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “You have to feel you have worth – it’s one of the big ticks you need in order to be happy.”
Ricky can also attribute much of his happiness to his partner Jane Fallon, whom he has been dating since 1982, as he recently revealed he would “fall apart” without her.
He said: “Jane went to Brighton once to visit her mum, and the boiler went and I didn’t know how to do it, so I was on the couch under a blanket with the cat listening to internet radio for two nights, because I couldn’t get the telly working and it was like, honestly, it was like ‘Castaway’. And then when she went away, next time, she left me instructions. She drew a picture of the remotes and what they all did, and I still had to FaceTime her. So I would fall apart without her. I mean, emotionally first. I don’t know how I’d cope with it. You don’t know, do you?”
And although the pair are going strong, they don’t feel the need to tie the knot or have children.
Ricky added: “I don’t think there’s any point to us getting married. We don’t want any more toasters and we never want our families to meet – that would be terrible … There are loads of reasons why I don’t have kids. The world is overpopulated; no one’s sitting around going, ‘Oh Rick’s not going to have kids, we’re going to run out.”

Iggy Azalea won’t move back to Australia

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea would “never be able to live” in her home country Australia.
The 28-year-old rapper hails from Sydney, but has said that since moving to America when she was 16 to pursue her music career, she’s had no desire to return home for an extended period of time because the country is not “ridiculous enough” for her.
She said: “I do like Australia, a lot of people think I hate it. [But] I don’t really like to go back, it’s just not for me full time!
“I would just never be able to live there, because it’s just too slow paced for me and it’s not ridiculous enough!”
And although she has strong feelings toward living in Australia, the ‘Kream’ hitmaker does recommend the country as a holiday destination.
Speaking in a YouTube video with make-up vlogger James Charles, she added: “I would love to take a vacation there and I would recommend anyone go visit. It’s really nice, the food’s really fresh, the weather’s beautiful in summer, it’s pretty clean, I like a lot of the beaches, my family live there.”
Her comments come after she previously claimed she had “no connection” to Australia during an interview in 2016.
She said at the time: “I mean, to be honest with you, my home is in America. I’ve lived there for a decade, that’s where I live. It’s great to come back and visit my grandparents, but there is no home connection. It would be like you going home to where you lived when you were nine, I kind of don’t associate with that anymore.”
And on social media in January this year, the ‘Fancy’ rapper told her followers there’s only one thing she misses about her home country.
She wrote on Twitter: “People have been asking me for years what I miss about Australia and the truth is I only miss Bunnings Warehouse sausage sizzles.”

Geri Horner wants women to be kinder to themselves

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner has urged women to treat themselves “with compassion”.
The 46-year-old singer wants women everywhere to take pressure off themselves and not be too self-critical, as she says that will “inspire” them to “be a better version” of themselves.
She said: “You have to treat yourself with compassion. That inspires you to be a better version of yourself. We live in a fast world which has beautiful benefits but also has hurdles.”
And the Spice Girls star – who has daughter Bluebell, 12, with Sacha Gervasi and son Monty, two, with husband Christian Horner – says that her life still isn’t “perfect”, but she’s learned to accept that it’s “okay” to have flaws.
She added: “I have a full life but it’s a wonderful one. It’s beautiful but it’s not perfect, and that’s OK. When I give myself permission not to be perfect then it’s OK.
“From past experience it never works when I am slightly strict, mean or too goal-orientated. It’s about achievable goals then you might end up doing more and have a great time.”
The ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker also urged women to speak up against gender inequality, especially in the wake of the #MeToo movement, which encourages people to come forward if they’ve been sexually assaulted or harassed.
Geri said: “I feel like the issue of how women are treated has always been there but it’s now come to the forefront, we’ve opened our eyes to it, that’s the only difference now.
“Women in the past have gone through what has happened to the women who are speaking up now. I’m really proud these women are speaking up because that’s how things change.”
And Geri hopes that the Spice Girls – who are set to embark on a reunion tour this year – can continue to “instil confidence and love” in women everywhere.
Speaking to the Sunday People newspaper, she said: “The only thing we can install is confidence and love. I love that women connect the idea of girl power with me and the Spice Girls.”

Iskra Lawrence thought being thin would bring happiness

OHMYGOSSIP — Iskra Lawrence thought she had to be thin to be happy.
The 28-year-old model has spoken openly about her battling with an eating disorder and admitted she believed the only way she could be successful in her profession and content in her personal life was to stay slim.
She said: “I was trapped in this vicious cycle of feeling that I was failing at achieving this body ideal I thought I had to have to be successful in my dream career, to be successful in relationships and to be happy.”
But the blonde beauty eventually realised she had to find happiness elsewhere and felt she had “wasted” a lot of time and energy on her diet.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “It took a long time to see the value in myself and the beauty of just being me.
“I thought, ‘How much time have I wasted trying to fit that ideal? It’s been a waste, I’m not happy.’
“I started asking myself, who am I? What can I bring to the table? I’m not just a set of measurements.’ ”
And as she developed in confidence, Iskra saw her career take off.
She said: “My whole life changed when I became confident, for sure.”
And the model has changed her attitude to fashion as her priority is no longer looking as slim as possible.
She said: “When I was more insecure and had body image issues I very much thought I had to wear things that were flattering all the time.
“My sole aim was to look slimmer.
“It felt like I was just dressing for my insecurity or the validation of other people or these beauty ideals.”

Andy Serkis cast in Mouse Guard

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis has been cast alongside Thomas Brodie-Sangster in ‘Mouse Guard’.
The 54-year-old actor – who is particularly well-known for his performance-capture roles – has signed on to star in Fox’s adaptation of the popular indie comic, which will see him work with director Wes Ball.
The film – which is set in a medieval world – will tell the story of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm.
Serkis will star as the villain, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which explains that Brodie-Sangster will play the role of Lieam, who has to prove his bravery throughout the movie.
Production work on ‘Mouse Guard’ is expected to begin in May.
Meanwhile, Serkis previously insisted he isn’t motivated by accolades.
The actor said he is simply determined to make the best movies he can possibly make, rather than trying to chase accolades.
He shared: “We don’t make films to win awards, it’s very lovely if it comes along.
“But for me the reward is fulfilling a vision and being in a privileged position to make a film … where you’re going to be sharing it with an audience and hopefully in some small way, changing the perception of humanity.”
Serkis insisted he isn’t driven by praise or adulation.
He added: “It’s lovely when you get an accolade but it really isn’t the ambition of what you set out to do, so if it comes along then great but if not then it doesn’t bother me.”

Jake Shears can’t listen to some early Scissor Sisters songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Shears “sometimes finds it hard” to listen to songs from the first Scissor Sisters album because he’s unhappy with the recordings.
This year will mark the 15th anniversary of the glam rock group’s self-titled debut album and although that LP will always “hold a special place in his heart” Jake admits some of the production on the tracks “gives him the willies”.
Jake – who, along with his bandmates, decided to disband Scissor Sisters in 2012 – said: “I love that album, sometimes it’s hard for me to hear those songs – the production makes some of them sound like absolute s**t. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a total music nerd, so I’m obsessed with production. Some of the mixing and production choices gives me the willies a little bit, but it still holds a special place in my heart.”
The ‘Creep City’ singer believes that the 2004 album – which was a global hit – was so successful because the group didn’t have “any massive ambitions” for it and all the music came from “the heart”.
In an interview with Australian website Music Feeds, he said: “That album represents so much to me. There’s a sweet, naive freedom to it. Those songs were written for the pure joy of writing them. We didn’t have any massive ambitions, we were just having a good time and making stuff from the heart. That’s one of the reasons it still holds up, and that’s why it’s still special to me.”
Jake released his eponymous solo debut album in August 2018 and although he loves creating music he has to feel the rush of inspiration to write songs.
He said: “I love making music, I love writing and I love performing, but there has to be inspiration. There’s gotta be a ‘Why?’ You know?
“What’s the point of it? It wasn’t until I felt like I had something to say and I finally started writing some good songs that my perspective changed. ”

Caitlyn Jenner styles by daughters

OHMYGOSSIP — Caitlyn Jenner’s “go-to stylists” are her daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
The 69-year-old star praised the “amazing” sense of fashion her two youngest children have and she’s always happy to listen to their opinion on her outfits, even if they don’t tell her what she wants to hear.
Speaking at Sir Elton John’s Oscars party last month, she told Closer magazine: “The girls have amazing style and while they obviously dress a lot younger than I do, they know what suits me and always give me their opinions on what looks good – and what I should never step out of the house in.
“They helped me pick this out months ago. They’re my go-to stylists.”
Caitlyn also looks to her rumoured girlfriend Sophia Hutchins, 22, for style advice.
She added: “Sophia’s got a great sense of style so it helps having some great fashion influences around me.”
The former Olympian – who has son Burt, 40, and daughter Cassandra, 38, with first wife Chrystie Crownover, sons Brandon, 37, and Brody, 35, with former spouse Linda Thompson, and Kendall, 23, and Kylie, 21, with ex-wife Kris Jenner – recently spoke of how proud she is of all her kids.
She said: “My relationship is good with them. Everyone is busy. Of course you want to be with every one of them everyday, because that’s what you did your entire life. Kylie’s busy, Kendall’s all over the world, but my relationship is still good with all of them.
“Same with the Jenner side – actually, lately, I have probably been a lot closer to the Jenner side: my son Brandon, Brody, all those kids. My daughter Casey, we’ve been really close the last year. She’s got three kids.”
