John Barrowman sleeps with doors and windows open after ‘I’m A Celebrity’

OHMYGOSSIP — John Barrowman can no longer sleep without having the windows and his bedroom door open.
The ‘All Star Musicals’ presenter – who is married to Scott Gill – admitted spending three weeks in the jungle for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ last November has completely changed him and a lasting effect of his stint in camp is that he needs a flow of fresh air running through the house at night.
He told Weekend magazine: “Having slept outdoors for three and a half weeks, I got back to Palm Springs and told Scott I needed the bedroom door open as well as the sliding windows at the back of the house to let the air in.”
And Scott has seen a different side to his spouse’s personality since he returned home from Australia.
John added: “Scott says I’m calmer because of the jungle too.”
During his stint on the show – in which he came third – John realised he isn’t comfortable with change because Noel Edmonds entering the camp late left him feeling uneasy.
He said: “I didn’t like it when Noel Edmonds came in.
“It was nothing to do with him, but we had to change from being all together in a camp to suddenly being under someone’s rule.
“I was very quiet after that for three days. Then I was chatting with Anne Hegerty and she said she finds change difficult, which rang a bell in my head.”
While the show ended three months ago, the contestants are still in regular contact with one another.
John said: “We have a WhatsApp group and talk to each other most days.
“I got particularly close to Emily Atack and Sair Khan, and I got on really well with Harry Redknapp.
“The thing I found hardest was the boredom in our downtime. I find it difficult to sit and do nothing.”

Faye Brookes is ‘proud’ of ‘epic’ Corrie love story

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Brookes is “proud” of her “epic love story” on ‘Coronation Street’.
The soap star – who plays Kate Connor on the cobbles – is delighted her alter ego’s relationship with Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) is back on track, with the couple recently getting engaged after several months of drama.
She recently told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine: “It’s been a true love story, and I’m so proud of all the things we’ve accomplished together. And I also know that with the storyline we’ve been given, there’s nobody I could have done it with apart from Bhavna.
“It’s been all or nothing on every level, from the moment we met on screen to the moment she’s gone. Just an epic, epic love story.”
Despite the on-screen couple being in a better place now, it doesn’t look like the characters will get a happy ending, with actress Bhavna set to leave the soap later this year.
Faye added: “The look on her face, I was like, ‘Oh no, she’s got something really awful to tell me.’ I really felt for her because she was nervous to tell me, but I said, ‘This is what you need to do. That’s your choice and it’s your career.’ ”
She also revealed that while she doesn’t blame Bhavna for stepping away from the cobbles to pursue other projects, she doesn’t have any plans to follow her co-star out of the exit door.
She said: “I don’t resent her for any of it. She’s gonna fly no matter what she does. But I’m not going anywhere! It’s not my time yet.”

Michael Jackson Simpsons episode pulled from circulation

OHMYGOSSIP — The Michael Jackson ‘Simpsons’ episode will no longer be aired in the wake of the ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary.
The late pop legend – who featured in the ‘Stark Raving Dad’ story in 1991 – has been accused of child sexual abuse in the film, and executive producer James L. Brooks has confirmed that the episode will be pulled from circulation and erased from schedule.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, he said: “It feels clearly the only choice to make .. I’m against book burning of any kind, but this is our book, and we’re allowed to take out a chapter.”
The episode in question sees Homer sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he befriends a man named Leon Kompowsky who thinks he is Michael Jackson.
Although originally credited under the pseudonym John Jay Smith, it was later confirmed that the ‘Thriller’ singer did voice the character.
Brooks added that fellow executive producers Matt Groening and Al Jean both agreed that pulling the episode was the right decision.
He explained: “The guys I work with – where we spend our lives arguing over jokes – were of one mind on this. This was a treasured episode. There are a lot of great memories we have wrapped up in that one, and this certainly doesn’t allow them to remain.”
In Dan Reed’s ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary, Wade Robson, 36, and James Safechuck, 40, both allege that Michael sexually abused them when they were children and would stay over at his Neverland Ranch.
Wade – who testified under oath in Michael’s 2005 child sex abuse trial that the musician never abused him – claims that he was molested by the King of Pop from the age of seven until 14.
James – who previously testified on Michael’s behalf when he was accused of sexual abuse in 1993 – claimed he was abused from the age of 10 until he reached puberty.
The Michael Jackson estate has hit back at the allegations branding both accusers “perjurers” and “admitted liars”.
In his 2005 child molestation trial Michael was acquitted by a jury of all charges.

Julie Andrews wins Venice Film Festival Career Achievement award

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Andrews will receive the Golden Lion for Career Achievement at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
The 83-year-old actress – who is best known for her iconic roles in ‘Mary Poppins’ and ‘The Sound of Music’ – will be honoured at the 76th annual event which runs August 28-September 7, organisers announced on Friday (08.03.19).
In a statement, Julie said: “I am so honoured to have been selected as this year’s recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
“The Venice Film Festival has long been recognized as one of the world’s most esteemed international film festivals.
“I thank the Biennale for this acknowledgement of my work and I look forward to being in that beautiful city in September for this very special occasion.”
The decision to award Julie with the prize was made by the board of the Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta and based on a proposal made by festival director Alberto Barbera.
Barbera said: “At a very young age, Ms Andrews made a name for herself in the music halls of London and, later, on Broadway thanks to her remarkable singing and acting talent.
“Her first Hollywood movie, ‘Mary Poppins’, gave her top-tier star status, which was later confirmed in another treasured film, ‘The Sound of Music’.
“Those two roles projected her into the Olympus of international stardom, making her an iconic figure adored by several generations of moviegoers.
“Above and beyond the different interpretations that can be given to her two most famous films (and highlighting the transgressive value of her characters rather than their apparent conservatism), it must be remembered that Andrews went out of her way to avoid remaining confined as an icon of family movies.”

Michael Jackson accuser ‘considering going to law school’

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Jackson’s accuser Gavin Arvizo is reportedly considering going to law school.
The pop star was acquitted of all charges – seven counts of child molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agents – at the end of the trial in 2005, and Arvizo, now in his late 20s, is said to be debating starting a legal career.
The man has always sought to live a private life, and his friend Louise Palanker told The Wrap: “He doesn’t really want to talk about it right now.
“He just wants to become a man and have a family and a career and not have this be the standout portion of who he is… He works in sales right now, he has been a teacher in a Catholic school for a while. But he’s very interested in business and also in law school. But they would like to start a family.”
The trial in 2005 included testimony from dancer and choreographer Wade Robson, who is one of two men featured in HBO’s ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary.
At the time, Wade said that Jackson didn’t abuse him as a child, which counted against Arvizo’s claims, but he has now alleged in the documentary that he lied at the trial because Jackson told him to.
Robson, 36, and James Safechuck, 40, have claimed Jackson sexually abused them when they were children.
Robson alleged he was sexually abused by Michael from the age of seven until 14, while Safechuck – who previously testified on Jackson’s behalf when he was accused of sexual abuse in 1993 – claimed he was a victim from the age of 10 until he hit puberty.
Many of Michael’s fans have branded the allegations in the documentary as false and Michael’s estate – who are reportedly suing HBO, who co-produced the movie with Channel 4 – lashed out at Safechuck and Robson branding them “perjurers” and “admitted liars”.
Meanwhile, Arvizo continues to snub requests for interviews, and ‘Leaving Neverland’ director Dan Reed recently said while he tried to contact him for the film, he never heard back.
Palanker added: “He really just wants to live his life. He doesn’t like it when Michael Jackson comes back into the news.”

Lupita Nyong’o felt protected when she launched Hollywood career

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o felt protected by big Hollywood stars when she was first starting out.

“Sarah Paulson: my God, that girl, she was like everything to me. And Alfre Woodard, she was invaluable. […] Oprah embraced my mom and my brother and invited them to her house for lunch without me. I was just like, ‘Wow, this is an incredibly supportive industry.’ I didn’t feel isolated.
“Gabrielle Union: we’d gone to a fashion show in France together and she’d been so open and embracing, exchanging phone numbers with me – there was a ‘you need anything kind’ of vibe.”
Lupita added that she had people around her in both the black and Hollywood communities, as she paid tribute to both Steve McQueen and Brad Pitt for looking after her.

Posting on Twitter on Friday (08.03.19), Bethenny revealed: “Just when you thought it couldn’t get sexier, I was diagnosed today with ‘leaky gut syndrome’ and a wheat allergy. Could there be a more vile title? That I wouldn’t have put on my dating profile. (sic)”

Duchess Meghan’s feminism journey began aged 11

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, first started campaigning for feminism at the age of 11.
The 37-year-old former actress – who was known as Meghan Markle before she joined the royal family when she married Prince Harry last year – has said that although she didn’t “know what sexism meant” at the time, she knew something was “wrong” when she saw an advertisement for dishwashing soap that declared, “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”
Speaking at a panel for International Women’s Day on Friday (08.03.19), she said: “At age 11, I had seen a commercial at the time that I thought to be very sexist. Truth be told, at 11 I don’t think I even knew what sexism meant. I just knew that something struck me internally that was telling me it was wrong, and I knew that it was wrong. And using that as my moral compass and moving through from the age of 11, at that age I was able to change this commercial.”
The former ‘Suits’ star ended up writing a letter to the company who created the commercial, and was successful as they then changed their slogan from “women all over America” to “people all over America.”
Meghan added: “It really set up the trajectory for me to say, if there was a wrong, if there is a lack of justice, and there is an inequality, then someone needs to do something. And why not me?”
Ahead of the panel, Meghan – who is currently expecting her first child with Prince Harry – was named as vice president of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, of which the Queen is Patron and Prince Harry is President.
The trust exists to champion, fund and connect young leaders around the world, and the Duchess she hopes to bring “equality for all of us” through her role.
She said: “I think, you know, looking at my role, and I’m very, very privileged to have now with the QCT, just expands that platform to be able to go to 53 Commonwealth countries and do this level of work all across the globe because again, it is about global feminism, it is about a parity and equality for all of us. It started at 11, but still feels like it’s just beginning!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Whoopi Goldberg almost died from pneumonia and septic shock.
The 63-year-old actress has been absent from her role on ‘The View’ for almost a month after she took time off for her health, and has now revealed she was battling pneumonia – which is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs – and came “very close to leaving the Earth”.
Speaking in a video shown on Friday’s (08.03.19) episode of ‘The View’ she told viewers: “Hey, yes it’s me. I am here. I am up and moving around. Not as fast as I’d like to be but I am OK, I’m not dead.
“So here’s what happened. I had pneumonia, and I was septic. Pneumonia in both lungs which meant there was fluid, and there was all kinds of stuff going on. And yes, I came very, very close to leaving the Earth. Good news, I didn’t.”
The ‘Colour Purple’ star then went on to thank her fans for sending “good wishes” throughout her health battle, and said that even people who “are not huge fans” of her have been wishing her well.
She added: “Thank you for all of your good wishes. All of the wonderful things that people have been saying. Even people who are not huge fans of mine, have actually said nice things about me. We all know that’s going to change when I get back, but for right now it’s brilliant.”

Kristen Bell doesn’t have a ‘fairytale’ romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard don’t have a “fairytale” romance.
The couple – who have two daughters, Lincoln, five and Delta, four, together – have been married since 2013, but despite their relationship looking like the perfect love story from the outside, the pair insist it takes a lot of “hard” work to keep their marriage afloat.
Kristen said: “This isn’t a special fairy tale.”
To which Dax added: “This is two people who worked really hard and it’s attainable for you if you work really hard in your marriage too.”
The ‘Frozen’ star and the 44-year-old actor rarely have time to do things together and say they’ve only been on nine dates throughout their six years of marriage, but are happy to spend cozy nights in together instead.
Dax told Parade magazine in a joint interview: “We’ve probably had nine in the last six years, if we’re being honest. We play board games and the kids destroy the house and that’s just a fun Sunday.”
Meanwhile, the ‘CHiPs’ star recently said that when he first met 38-year-old Kristen, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to commit to a relationship with her, because she was so different to him.
Speaking in January, he said: “I have this very weird mix of not thinking I’m good looking, general low self-esteem, chip on my shoulder that I’m dumb because I was dyslexic, all these things, yet, unbridled arrogance in relationships. I’ve always been that way, I don’t know how to explain it … I’ve always felt very confident in relationships.
“So I never, ever, ever was like, ‘Oh, I hope I can keep Kristen.’ I was going, ‘Do I want to be with a Christian, who has eight people living in her house for free? Who has to get out of a car when there’s a dog that doesn’t have a leash and ruin her whole day to rescue this dog? Do I wanna be … that’s great and she’s good, but that’s not what I wanna do, I’m not that good, I don’t want to spend my day finding the owner of a dog. So I wasn’t fearful I would lose her, I wasn’t certain I wanted to be with someone like that.”

She said: “A world without sexism would be a world where hard work, merit, and qualifications are put before gender. True partnerships would be present rather than the constrictions of traditional roles. Instead of being put in a box, everyone is on an even playing field and therefore benefits. This is the world in which I want my daughter to thrive.”

Luke Perry’s daughter praises mother for helping hold their family together

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Perry’s daughter has praised her mother for helping her “get through this absolute s**t situation” following her father’s death.
The ‘Riverdale’ actor tragically passed away earlier this week at the age of 52 just days after he suffered a stroke, and after breaking her silence on the sad news a few days ago, his 18-year-old daughter Sophie has now sent a loving message to her mother Minnie, whom she credits with being the “rock for everybody” in their family.
Posting a picture of herself with her mother, Sophie wrote: “You all know my dad is a super star, but I just want to share for a moment that I got really f***ing lucky in the parental department because this is my mom. Minnie. Who also happens to be my best friend. Wow, how cliche, I know. And she is the rock for everybody grieving in this family right now. She’s the toughest and sweetest and most amazing woman I or anyone else has ever met. How did I get so lucky to have two icons for parents? I love you mom and I could not get through this absolute s**t situation without you. None of us could. Oh. And I was just informed it was national women’s day, how fitting for a post on my kick ass mama. #happynationalwomensday (sic)”
Sophie previously commented on her father’s passing with a touching message to fans of the ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star, who had reached out with messages of support for his family.
She wrote: “A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I. I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bare with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”
Luke’s son, 21-year-old wrestler Jack Perry – who goes by the ring name Jungle Boy – also recently spoke about the tragedy, saying his “heart is broken”.

Khloe Kardashian: Hearts should be treasured not broken

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian claims hearts should be “treasured, not broken” in the wake of her split from Tristan Thompson.
The 34-year-old reality star broke up with Tristan – with whom she has 10-month-old daughter True – after he kissed Jordyn Woods at a party last month, and has now taken to social media to share cryptic messages which touch on the subject of heart break.
One passage posted to Instagram reads: “Maybe we held on a little too long to the people who didn’t deserve us because we had more good in our heart than they did. Maybe we saw them for how they could have been if they had a heart like ours. But they didn’t and maybe they never will. Hearts like ours are special. – They should be treasured, not broken.”
Whilst another message shared by the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star said everything she’s been through was “meant” to happen in order to make her who she is.
It read: “What if I told you that every single thing that has happened to you has happened exactly as it was meant to? I know a lot of things have happened. I know there are cracks in your spirit from losses too great to name, and hurts from people who should have kept you safe.
“But those cracks created a warrior. Those cracks are iridescent fissures that light you up and reflect every beautiful thing in your soul.”
Meanwhile, although the former couple are not on the best terms right now, it was recently reported they’re “on the same page” when it comes to co-parenting their daughter.
A source said: “Khloe has True for the majority of the time. Khloe’s able to bring True or be with her at work, where Tristan can’t. Also, True spends a lot of time with her big family and all the cousins are in LA so it makes the most sense for her to stay with Khloe.
“Khloe and Tristan may have their issues but Khloe will never deny Tristan a chance to spend time with his daughter. Things may change in the future, but for now Khloe and Tristan are on the same page with True being with Khloe for most of the time.”
