Paramore hope their Best Rock Album Grammy win opens doors for women in alternative music

OHMYGOSSIP — Paramore hope their Grammy win for Best Rock Album will act as a reminder to make “rock and alternative spaces more inclusive”.
The Hayley Williams-led pop rock group became the first female-fronted act to win the prize at the prestigious ceremony at the weekend, with their acclaimed LP ‘This Is Why’ beating Foo Fighters‘ ‘But Here We Are’, Greta Van Fleet‘s ‘Starcatcher’, Metallica’s ’72 Seasons’ and Queens of the Stone Age’s ‘In Times New Roman’.
And the ‘Misery Business’ hitmakers – completed by Zac Farro and Taylor York – hope it will open the doors for other female artists in the scene.
Reflecting on the win, Paramore wrote on Instagram: “First off, infinite thanks to our fans, our team, and the voting academy for making ‘This Is Why’ such a moment for us, 20 years into our career.
“Our band won two Grammys last night, sitting together in Zac’s living room, dressed in our regular clothes (yes, we saw the empty red carpet meme).”
They continued: “Turns out, our win for Best Rock Album was a historic feat as we are the first female-fronted band to ever take home a trophy for this category. Ridiculous yet true! It’s an honour for Paramore to be a small but constant reminder for people to keep pushing these rock and alternative spaces to be more inclusive.”
And commenting on their split from Atlantic Records, they concluded: “Some of you will know that ‘This Is Why’ was our last album for our deal with Atlantic Records. To finish anything well is something to be proud of. Thank you to anyone who supported the ethos of Paramore as much as the music.”
Fans feared the ‘Ain’t It Fun’ hitmakers had split when they deleted all their social media posts and website, followed by the cancellation of a slew of planned performances.
However, they recently returned with a cover of ‘Burning Down The House’ for a Talking Heads tribute album.

Chris Isaak announces string of UK tour dates

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Isaak has announced a string of UK tour dates.
The 67-year-old ‘Wicked Game’ rocker is heading to London, Birmingham and Bournemouth in August for a series of celebratory gigs, and is set to hold a show in each city.
It comes ahead of the 30th anniversary of his ‘Forever Blue’ album, which was released in 1995.
His iconic ‘Wicked Game’ song, which featured in David Lynch’s ‘Wild at Heart’ starring Nicolas Cage, was released as a single in 1989 and featured on his ‘Heart Shaped World’ album.
Chris told Songfacts about how the track was inspired by a woman trying to have a fling, saying it was about “what happens when you have a strong attraction to people that aren’t necessarily good for you”.
He added: “This one I wrote really late at night and it was written in a short time, because I remember that a girl had called me and said, ‘I want to come over and talk to you’, and ‘talk’ was a euphemism.
“And she said, ‘I want to come over and talk to you until you’re no longer able to stand up.’
“And I said, ‘Okay, you’re coming over.’
“And as soon as I hung up I thought, ‘Oh, my God.’
“I know she’s gonna be trouble. She’s always been trouble. She’s a wildcat. And here I am, I’m going to get killed, but I’m doing this.
“And I wrote ‘Wicked Game’: ‘World’s on fire and no one can save me but you.’
“It’s like you start thinking about it, and by the time she came over to the house, I had the song written.
“I think she was probably upset because I was more excited by the song!
“I was like, ‘Yes, you’re gorgeous, baby. But listen to this song!’”

Mariah Carey announces a new Las Vegas residency

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey is returning to Las Vegas for a new residency.
The 54-year-old singer has announced details of her Celebration of Mimi residency, which will be staged at Park MGM from April 12 through to April 27.
The eight-date residency will mark the 19th anniversary of ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’, Mariah’s 2005 hit album.
The record has previously been labelled a “comeback album” by critics and featured a number of hit singles, including ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Us’.
In a statement shared with Billboard, it’s been confirmed that “the Las Vegas shows will feature fan favourites from that album as well as other hits from her unparalleled illustrious career”.
Mariah previously admitted that ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ was a “special” album in her career.
The award-winning star told Billboard in 2020: “It really was a moment and it did feel special.
“When I think about all the different songs on [the album] and the different collaborators, the timing was just right.
“It was the first time I collaborated with The Neptunes, and it was the first time I worked with [James] ‘Big Jim’ Wright as a producer with ‘Circles’ and with ‘Fly Like a Bird’.
“My most sacred memory from that time would be recording the vocals for ‘Fly Like a Bird’ in Capri. I recorded a lot of other [tracks] there, too, but I just remember finishing that song and feeling like there was something so special about it.
“I work at night, especially when I’m singing, so I was watching the sunrise [while] listening back to the song, and I was just like, ‘I’m so proud of this song’.”

Eurovision star Mae Muller splits from record label just months after releasing debut album

OHMYGOSSIP — Mae Muller has split from her record label.
The 26-year-old singer represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023 with the track ‘I Wrote A Song’ but finished in second-to-last place before releasing her debut album ‘Sorry I’m Late’ her debut album in September but it stalled outside the Top 30 and how she has reportedly parted ways with Capitol Records UK.
A music insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Everyone hoped that Eurovision would be the thing to propel Mae into the mainstream and make her a big star. It certainly raised her profile — but not for all the right reasons and it has been a very tricky year for everyone involved.”
The insider added that Mae “struggled” to find a solid fanbase despite her mass exposure on the Eurovision Song Contest and even had to cancel her tour but claimed that the singer now feels as if she “compromised her artistic integrity” for the sake of the label so felt she it was time to leave.
The source said: “The label really tried to support her with her album but she struggled to muster up a hardcore fanbase and had to cancel her tour in the autumn because the demand wasn’t there.
“She feels like she compromised her artistic integrity for the label.
“But they feel like they did everything they could to turn her into a star, so it became clear the time was right for Mae to leave the label.”
Mae – who recently left her management team and claimed she waned to “make music [she] actually liked – revealed towards the end of last year that she was having a stab at an acting career and had joined a new agency.
She tweeted: “SHE’S AN ACTRESS!!!”

The Rolling Stones’ backstage rider ‘cut back’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones have “cut back” on their backstage rider requests.
The legendary rock’n’roll band’s longtime bass player, Darryl Jones, 62, has been performing with the ‘Start Me Up’ group since the nineties, and he says they no longer have big asks for their backstage area, such as huge gaming rooms, but there is still plenty of food to chow down on, including 80-year-old guitarist Keith Richards’ favourite, the humble shepherd’s pie.
Darryl – who replaced Bill Wyman, 87, after he retired in 1993 – is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “It’s changed over time, there used to be a huge snooker room.
“They would make a room out of curtains and things.
“We had the banks of video racing games, where you sit, that was around for a while.
“They kinda cut back on that stuff now.”
He added: “Keith still has what he loves, shepherd’s pie. There’s so much food backstage, me and the keyboard player have our own rider.”
Meanwhile, Metallica were allegedly told not to look at frontman Sir Mick Jagger when they supported the Stones.
The heavy metal legends were the special guests at two of the legendary rock’n’roll band’s concerts at Oracle Park in San Francisco in 2005, where a personal assistant allegedly told the ‘Nothing Else Matters’ rockers to not make any eye contact or talk to the 80-year-old music legend.
Speaking on an episode of the podcast ‘Club Random with Bill Maher’ last year, drummer Lars Ulrich recalled: “So we’re sitting backstage, and – and this is in no way a judgment on the Stones, this is really more about us – at one point a personal assistant or whatever comes and says, ‘Mick Jagger’s gonna walk through here in a couple minutes, he’s going over to his private gym in his truck, and he’s going to warm up before the show. When he walks through here, please don’t make eye contact with him or talk to him.'”
Mega Stones fan Lars, 60, was devastated that he couldn’t speak to his heroes and was only allowed a photo opportunity with Mick and co before going on stage.
He said: “I had dreams, like, I thought, we’re gonna play with The Rolling Stones and you know where I’m gonna spend my whole time, is in Keith Richards hotel room, sitting at one of those legendary parties ’til nine o’clock in the morning: I’ll be the last one to leave! It wasn’t exactly like that.”
The Rolling Stones will kick off their latest tour, in support of ‘Hackney Diamonds’, in North America in April.

Ariana Grande won’t release more singles before new album drops

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande won’t release any more singles before her new album drops next month.
The 30-year-old singer – whose recent hit ‘Yes, And’ was fans’ first taste of what to expect from her upcoming new record ‘Eternal Sunshine’ – has insisted she wants her supporters to listen to this LP in full when it’s released on March 8, rather than being drip-fed the material bit by bit.
She wrote on her Instagram Story this week: “We are a little over a month away from ‘Eternal Sunshine’ and I don’t think it’s possible to articulate how grateful I am for your love, support and excitement!
“I wanted to say…as hard as it is to resist the urge to share another song or single with you all asap, I would really love for you to experience the album in full this time.
“There will of course be more singles off of this project once it is out (and we may have a little surprise or two up our sleeves to hold you over until then so don’t you worry) but waiting a little longer for you to be able to listen fully through first really is my ideal way for you all to experience this body of work.”
Ariana thanked fans for trusting her “vision and plan” for the long awaited follow-up to 2020’s ‘Positions’.
She continued: “You have waited so long for new music from me and I am so grateful for your patience!
“I look forward to savoring every second of this new era with you all and I sincerely cannot wait for it to be yours!
“It’s going to be (and already is) so special. I am so excited for all that is to come. More than ever.
“Love you so so so!!! (sic)”
Arian recently described the record as “a concept album”, noting that a lot of the songs are “really vulnerable”.
In a previous post on Instagram, she explained how she invited family, friends and members of her team at Republic Records to listen to an advanced preview of the collection.
She said: “I’m nervous, but I wanted to share this with you because it’s kind of a concept album.
“It’s all different, heightened pieces of the same story [and] of the same experience. I’m weirdly emotional but… this is what’s going on.
“Some of them are really vulnerable, some of them are [me] playing the part that people expect me to be sometimes and having fun with that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Post Malone and Florence + the Machine will feature on Taylor Swift’s new album.
The ‘Anti-Hero’ singer announced at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (04.02.24) she will release ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ in April, and she has now shared the tracklisting for the record, which includes collaborations with the 28-year-old rapper and the ‘Hunger’ hitmakers.
Taylor took to Instagram to share a photo of some artwork for the record, which featured a black and white photo of herself and “I love you, it’s ruining my life” written over her shoulder as well as the list of songs.
Side A begins with the Post Malone collaboration, ‘Fortnight’, and is followed by the album’s title track, ‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys’ and ‘Down Bad’, while Side B has ‘So Long, London’, ‘But Daddy I Love Him’, ‘Fresh Out the Slammer’, and ‘Florida!!!’, with the latter song featuring Florence + the Machine.
Side C offers ‘Guilty as Sin?’, ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?’, ‘I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), and ‘Ioml’ and the final part of the album, Side D, has ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’, ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’, ‘The Alchemy’, Clara Bow’ and bonus track ‘The Manuscript’.
In reference to the album’s release date, the post was simply captioned: “April 19 [white heart emoji].”
The ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker announced the release of her album when she picked up the Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘Midnights’ at the Grammy Awards.
She said in her acceptance speech: “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.
“So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.”

Kylie Minogue would love to experiment with indie folk

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue would like to experiment with indie folk.
The disco-pop icon, 55, is a huge fan of the genre and would love to do a song or two in that vein.
Speaking to Billboard at the Grammy Awards this past weekend, she said: “I did a song [1995’s ‘Where the Wild Roses Grow’] with Nick Cave, which was back in the 90s. It was quite alternative, it was a murder ballad. So there’s that.
But I enjoy a lot of indie folk, which I haven’t really done myself.
“I don’t think I’ve ever said that out loud, but that would be fun.”
She then clarified: “Maybe it’s not an entire album, just a little taste.”
At the bash in Los Angeles on Sunday (04.02.24), Kylie won her second-ever Grammy and said it felt like the start of a “new era”.
The pop idol’s club anthem ‘Padam Padam’ from her LP ‘Tension’ was the inaugural winner of the new accolade, Best Pop Dance Recording, beating the likes of David Guetta, Anne-Marie and Coi Leray’s ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s ‘Miracle’, Bebe Rexha and Guetta’s ‘One in a Million’ and Troye Sivan’s ‘Rush’.
Speaking to ‘E!’s Live from the Red Carpet’ host Laverne Cox after the win, Kylie said in a message to her LGBTQ+ fans: “I would say thank you for being with me for such a long time now, through thick and thin.
“We ride the highs, the lows, and the in-betweens, and to know that we’ve got each other’s backs and this feels like the start of the next era.”

SZA on new album LANA: ‘I want to allow it to finish shaping itself’

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA is allowing her new album, ‘Lana’, to shape itself and admits it could “change the trajectory” of “what it could be”.
The ‘Snooze’ hitmaker originally set out for the collection to be a deluxe edition of her Grammy-winning album ‘SOS’ with songs that didn’t make the final tracklisting, but she later confirmed that it turned into a whole other album.
The chart-topping star – whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe – has decided not to describe the songs on ‘Lana’ because it could all change direction before she’s finished.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “You know, this round, I actually don’t want to say anything. Just because I feel like I do myself a disservice because you can shift the energy of the album. You got to let it form itself. Because I’m not really forming anything.
“I’m just kind of here while energy is forming and I’m just trying to allow it to do what it needs to do, and my voice just follows whatever the frequency is.
“So I feel like I want to allow it to finish shaping itself and form itself before I speak on it and possibly change the trajectory of what it could be. But I will say I’m in a beautiful space creatively and I feel just very new.”
At the weekend, SZA took home three Grammy Awards for Best R’n’B Song for ‘Snooze’, Best Progressive R’n’B Album for ‘SOS’ and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside Phoebe Bridgers for ‘Ghost in the Machine’.
Album of the Year went to Taylor Swift for ‘Midnights’ and SZA insists she is just “grateful” to have won the prizes she did and to not have made any mistakes at the live-streamed bash, as she finds attending the massive ceremony, which was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (04.02.24), so overwhelming as someone who suffers from anxiety about public appearances.
Asked if she wishes she’d won Album of the Year, she replied: “I don’t actually. I’m grateful I won three. I could have left with nothing, and I didn’t, and I’m grateful. My parents got to see it and I didn’t bomb on live television, and that was so scary. And I faced some really big fears and I’m just happy that it all went well, genuinely. And I’m happy for everybody.”

Billy Joel finds songwriting ‘torture’

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Joel finds writing songs “torture”.
The 74-year-old singer released ‘Turn the Lights Back On’, his first single in 17 years, last week and while he is set to do more writing, he isn’t looking forward to it because it is a “lonely” process, though he’s always proud of the result.
Asked about his process by Amanda Kloots and Alina Vission on the ‘Live! from the Red Carpet’ show at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (04.02.24), he said: “I’m going to go into my cave and become a caveman. It’s not a fun process for me — it’s very self-centred, very lonely. And sometimes it’s torture.
“But afterwards, I love having written.”
The ‘Piano Man’ hitmaker enjoys performing live but ultimately noted touring “can get a little tiresome too”.
He added: “I always wanted to be a teacher and I used to go around the country and do lectures about songwriting at colleges.”
When it comes to writing, Billy urged aspiring singers to draw on their own experiences and emotions to forge a genuine connection with their work.
He said: “You’ve got to go through things to write about things. Write what you know.”
The ‘Uptown Girl’ singer’s comments echo his recent remarks that he had lost the “fun” of writing songs.
Speaking with his co-writer Freddy Wexler on ‘Audacy Check In’, he said: “It was fun. Music is fun. Rock n’ roll was fun. It was all about having fun — and I kind of lost that and I turned the lights off because it wasn’t fun anymore.”
Billy explained over the last 17 years, other people had encouraged him to get back into the studio but he “always resisted it”.
He added: “I studiously avoided it because songwriting had become painful. I have this high bar. I said to myself, ‘If I don’t reach that bar, I beat myself up and I punched myself and I hate myself.’ So, I stopped doing it because I got tired of feeling like that.”
But when he heard what Freddy was working on two years ago, his love for creating new music began to return.
He said: “The melody, the chords, the chord progression, even the time signature was something that struck me immediately, and that’s how I relate to music.
“This particular lyric in this song, I’ve had these thoughts, I could have written these lyrics verbatim. I’ve chewed on these words and I’ve thought of these words, and I’ve said these words before. It was all kind of falling into place — and who am I to fight that?”

Dua Lipa ‘digs deeper’ on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa has been “digging deeper and deeper” for her upcoming new album.
The ‘Dance the Night’ hitmaker has been working on her as-yet-untitled third record and she is “proud” of how much progress she’s made as an artist over the last few years.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (04.02.24), she told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I feel like with every album, I get to grow more and learn more about myself and I become more free as a songwriter and as a performer and as an artist. “So, this one, I’m just like digging deeper and deeper. I love it. I’m proud of this one.”
Last month, the 26-year-old singer announced she would premiere ‘Training Day’ from the album on 15 February, and she has explained the “vibe” of the track, which she got to record “at home in London”.
She said: “[It’s] just about kind of knowing how to… like not expecting for people to like, love you right, you know? You’re just like, training season’s over. You’re done teaching people how to do things right.
“[Come correct or] don’t come at all. That’s the vibe.”
Dua previously shared a snippet from the track on her TikTok account.
She could be seen singing along to the song while dancing in the back of a car, with the lyrics including: “I need someone to hold me close / deeper than I’ve ever known / whose love feels like a rodeo / knows just how to take control / He’s straight talking to my soul/conversation overload / got me feeling vertigo.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Levitating’ hitmaker also explained writing ‘Dance the Night’ for ‘Barbie’ with Caroline Ailin, Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson was a new and fun experience for her.
Speaking on ‘E! Live from the Red Carpet’, she said: “It was such a different experience, I learned so much from it as a whole.
“I think going in and analysing a different story and … writing for an assignment was a very different than writing from things that I know and things that I have. I loved it, I loved it. It’s much easier I think sometimes having an assignment and then you can sit in and build from there.”

The Last Dinner Party slam misogyny in music: Being five non-male musicians is not groundbreaking

OHMYGOSSIP — The Last Dinner Party admit it’s a “shame” that the fact they are five non-male musicians making popular music is seen as “groundbreaking”.
The ‘Nothing Matters’ group have called out the misogyny in the music business and insisted there is a “long line” of “powerful” female and non-binary artists who came before them.
Abigail Morris – who is joined by Georgia Davies, Lizzie Mayland, Aurora Nishevci, and Emily Roberts in the BRIT Award-winning group – told ‘Channel 4 News’: “Yeah, I think the revealing thing is like, as we’ve been coming up, the kind of headline thing is like, the first female band to do anything and like people kind of seem to be implying we’re doing something really new and groundbreaking just by being, you know, five non-male musicians when in fact, we come from a very long line and community of very powerful female and non-binary artists and I think it’s just a shame that culture at large seems to be constantly blinkered to like, the fact that like, every few years, there’s a new study being like breaking news, misogyny in music and it’s like yes, we know.”
The girls – who met eating pizza at fresher’s week at university – also called out festivals that continue to book the same male headliners.
Georgia said: “I think, in order for female and non-binary bands to progress up into that status, they need to be given the highest slots on festival lineups. To be given the chance to perform to a big crowd because without giving those slots to people who deserve it, we’re just going to keep seeing the same kind of legacy historically. Good, but kind of…”
Referring to former Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher, Abigail interjected: “Just alternating Gallagher brothers.”

‘I hope this is the first of so many!’: Karol G made history with her first-ever Grammy win

OHMYGOSSIP — Karol G made history as the first female recipient of the Grammy for Best Música Urbana Album on Sunday (04.02.24).
The 32-year-old singer – who just made her acting debut in ‘Griselda’ – took home the relatively new prize, which has been won two years consecutively by Bad Bunny since its inception in 2022, for her acclaimed fourth studio album, ‘Mañana Será Bonito’.
And she admitted she was both “super nervous” and “excited” to stand up in front of pop music’s biggest stars, including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and more, to accept the accolade.
Speaking onstage at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, she said: “Hi, my name is Karol G, and I am from Medellín, Colombia.
This is my first time at the Grammys, and this is my first time holding my own Grammy. I’m super happy, I’m super nervous, and I’m super excited to be in front of so many legends that I admire and respect. My album has given me the best memories of my whole life. My fans give me motivation and inspiration … I promise to give you my best always! I hope this is the first of so many.”
The reggaeton star previously shared how “psychologically heavy” sharing her personal life through her lyrics can be, and she admitted she suffered from anxiety before the record’s release.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “The two weeks before the album came out, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat.
Being so exposed in my music was very psychologically heavy.… Imagine something like this happening, and you have to tell millions of people what happened to you.”
However, she will continue wearing her heart on her sleeve because it is “healing”.
She explained: “I swear to you, even in the moments when I’ve been super mega in love, I still make music about heartbreak.
“You can put on the saddest songs in the world, and it’s as if you were killing yourself, but really, you’re healing.”

U2 team up with David Guetta for EDM version of Atomic City

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 have shared an EDM remix of their song ‘Atomic City’ by world-famous DJ David Guetta.
Bono and co released the new song in September as they made their debut at Las Vegas’ MSG Sphere, where they’ve been playing a residency and just performed from for the Grammys on Sunday (04.02.24).
Before their rendition of ‘Atomic City’, host Trevor Noah said from the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com arena: “We are leaving Los Angeles for a moment and going to Las Vegas for the venue that everybody has been talking about this past year. Remember, no television cameras have ever been allowed inside until right now.”
The performance began on the staggering 580,000-foot LED screen on the exterior of the building before zooming in to reveal the band mid-song.
After they had finished the track, frontman Bono, 63, then introduced the nominees for the Best Pop Vocal Album accolade, which ultimately went to Taylor Swift for ‘Midnights’.
Meanwhile, the band’s new album has been put on pause due to drummer Larry Mullen Jr’s health battle.
The 62-year-old sticksman is currently recovering from neck surgery and was forced to sit out the group’s residency.
And his inability to perform right now means the ‘With or Without’ hitmakers can’t pen new tunes.
Speaking to MOJO magazine, Bono said: “Starting work on new songs is somewhat tied to Larry’s situation.
“Could he commit to an album project? I don’t know.”
The lead singer says new music without him wouldn’t feel the same as he brings a “psychic force” to U2.
He said of him and guitarist The Edge, 62, having to play without him: “It’s beyond the beyond of ‘tough’.
“It was the late ’70s, the last time we played without Larry. I think a motorcycle fell on his foot, and he couldn’t play, and we had a drummer called Eric [Briggs]. That wasn’t a great feeling, but Eric was very good-looking, and Larry hurried back – he hopped behind the kit! But it’s not just that, you know, it’s a psychic force that Larry brings.”
Bono put a planned acoustic album called ‘Songs of Ascent’ on hold because he wants U2 to release a “noisy, uncompromising, unreasonable guitar album” first.
However, they can’t complete anything until Larry is well and ready.

They join previously confirmed headliners The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day.

The ‘West End Girls’ duo – comprising Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – returned to using an orchestra for their upcoming James Ford-produced collection, which is due out on April 26, and is a follow-up to 2020’s ‘Hotspot’.
Premiering the new single on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Zoe Ball last week, Neil said: “When we made it, it was written, a lot of it was written, during lockdown. So, we wrote a tonne of songs. And more or less every track, in fact, every track, has got an orchestra on it, but it’s not like an orchestra album. It’s a very melodic sort of album, our last three albums have been strictly electronic and this one we’ve gone back to using an orchestra but also, of course, with electronics.”
