Justin Timberlake wants Britney Spears duet

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has said he would “absolutely” love to collaborate with ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker recently revealed she wants to work with with the 35-year-old musician, and now Justin has confirmed he too would love to step into the recording studio with his the 34-year-old beauty, admitting he is “accessible”.
Asked if he had heard Britney has requested to work with him, the ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ singer told E!: “She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely.
“I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news. I apologise for not being in the know … I’m accessible, give us a call!”
Justin’s eagerness to record a song with Britney – who he dated for three years in 1999 – comes after the blonde beauty revealed the artists she would most like to collaborate with, and cited her former beau as “very good”.
She said: “Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good.”
At the time, an insider admitted the ‘Cry Me A River’ singer would “be totally down” with working with Britney.
The source said: “Justin would be totally down with doing a song with Britney sometime in the future. He would want it to be something amazing and not just do it for the nostalgia of it all. Though he is not actively pursuing a duet with her, he would welcome the discussion and would be happy if it were to happen.”
The pair met when they starred together in Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club and began dating aged 17 after they both became pop stars.
Three years later they broke hearts when they dramatically split.

McFly axe two albums

OHMYGOSSIP — McFly have scrapped their last two albums – but are returning to the studio “soon”.
The ‘5 Colours In Her Hair’ hitmakers – who are made up of Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter – have axed songs written and recorded since their last record, 2010’s ‘Above the Noise’, because they “wouldn’t be 100 per cent behind” the tunes.
Tom said: “After a certain amount of time, you feel like that was where you were at, at a moment.
“If we released stuff we recorded three years ago, we wouldn’t be 100 per cent behind it any more. We still love the songs but we’d be excited about doing new things.”
While they have made plans to record new tunes soon, the singer insists there is “no pressure” on the boy band to put out hits in the near future.
Tom explained: “We’ve been a band 13 years, there’s no pressure for us to release an album every year or it’s over. It’s just ongoing now.
“Our last album was in 2010, so there’s a big gap but there’s no pressure, we can do it when we want to.”
The star’s bandmates are keen for him to write them some more hit songs, so much so they are to put the singer-turned-author on a “book-writing ban” when he has completed his current tomes.
Harry added to The Sun newspaper: “We need to stop him doing these things. Get him back into writing for us again. He’s got two more books he needs to finish and then he’s on a book-writing ban.”
McFly made a triumphant return to the state on Monday night (12.09.16) for the first time in three years when they performed the first show of their ‘Anthology Tour’ at Manchester Academy, north west England.
But the group joked they shouldn’t have bothered turning up because their set was full of errors.
Harry quipped: “I’ve made at least five mistakes. The first mistake was turning up.”

Harry Judd: McFly fans hate McBusted

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Judd has admitted fans of McFly “hate” McBusted.
The 30-year-old McFly drummer has opened up about how when he and bandmates Dougie Poynter, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones teamed up with Busted’s James Bourne and Matt Willis in 2013 to form the supergroup their supporters weren’t best pleased and so they just knew they had to go their separate ways.
Harry admitted: “The McBusted thing was a huge success, but it fizzled out.
“We’re all quite polite and none of us like confrontation.
“The last show happened and it was like, ‘Ok, bye!’ We knew it, but it was unspoken. We were cool with it.”
Following a three-year hiatus, McFly are back on the road on their ‘Anthology Tour’ and Harry says they are keen to get new music out because their fans were “frustrated” with McBusted.
Harry told the Metro newspaper: “It’s been a while since we have just been McFly and a lot of our fans are frustrated.
“Although McBusted has been a success, a lot of McFly fans were like, ‘I hate McBusted!'”

They played the first show of their ‘Anthology Tour’ at Manchester Academy, north west England, and joked they shouldn’t have bothered turning up because their set was full of errors.

Dougie also admitted he was “sweaty and unprepared” and didn’t have a “f***ing clue” what he was doing on stage.

Lady Gaga reveals Florence Welch duet track title

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga’s duet with Florence Welch is called ‘Hey Girl’.
The 30-year-old pop superstar has revealed the title for her collaboration with the ‘You’ve Got the Love’ hitmaker and said that the pair “cried” and “laughed” together and had a “real human connection” while recording the song, which will feature on Gaga’s hotly-anticipated as-yet untitled fourth album.
On working with the Florence + The Machine frontwoman, Gaga told Elvis Duran on iHeart Radio: “Florence and I, when we work together, we cried, we laughed, we hugged each other … I don’t feel you can write a song with lyrics that you really capture the relationship between two people unless you have a real human connection.”
The ‘Poker Face’ singer also shared some lyrics to the track which appears to be about two friends sticking together.
Gaga sings: “Hey girl, do you feel me? Are you holding out your heart?”
Florence sings: “Hey girl, do you feel me? Sometimes I go too far.”
To which Gaga adds: “Hey girl, it ain’t easy, I know it’s pulling me apart … Hey girl, don’t you leave me … Hey girl, don’t you leave me … Hey girl, hey girl, we can make it easy if we lift each other … We don’t need to keep on one-upping one another (sic)”
Gaga’s forthcoming record also features a song with Beck, Father John Misty, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and her lead single, ‘Perfect Illusion’, features guitars by Eagles of Death Metal’s Josh Homme.
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty has also teased that the record is coming soon.
Asked when the record will drop, she told Billboard magazine: “Really soon … it’s not very far away.”

Kesha writing huge song with Grammy winner

OHMYGOSSIP — Kesha is recording a “f**k off” song with a Grammy Award-winning artist.
The ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker is fully focused on relaunching her music career after dropping her lawsuit against Dr. Luke – who she claimed sexually assaulted her – and fulfilling her contractual obligations to the producer’s label Kemosabe by submitting 28 new songs.
Kesha has been busy working with the mystery artist on the track and is very excited about what they have created together.
In an Instagram post, accompanied by a selfie of her listening back to the song on headphones, she teased: “iiswhoiismaking a F**K OFF song with a casual Grammy award winning secret person I got a good feeling about this one… (sic)”
Kesha has been touring in recent weeks and now feels free and able to put on the type of concerts she has always dreamed of.
And the 29-year-old pop star has also promised her fans she has plans for some “cool s**t” coming soon.
In an earlier Instagram post, she revealed: “So many secret plans for cool s**t ….!!! stay posted animals ;))))) also I love you and check my tour dates bc the shows just keep getting better and sicker and creepier and funner and this is literally the show I’ve been wanting to do my whole career and go camping ! it makes the crazy world make sense and makes you realize the truths between the bulls**t. blah blah blah blabber blabber bye (sic)”
Kesha’s last track, ‘True Colors’, was recorded with Zedd and came out after a judge ruled she could not be released from her recording contract with Dr. Luke.
She signed a contract with Dr. Luke – who has denied all the allegations of abuse – for five albums in 2005 and has so far released just two, with the most recent, ‘Warrior’, coming out in 2012.
Until she delivered her final three LPs, Kesha could have remained locked in the contract for life.
Although she has now submitted the required 28 songs, the studio wizard – whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald – may not necessarily release them, if they are not deemed commercially satisfactory.
However, Kesha and her team could provide any failure to make the tracks available as proof Sony and Luke are refusing to release her music.

Calvin Harris won't release any more albums

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Harris isn’t planning to release any more albums.
The 32-year-old DJ has been having a think about how best to share his music with the masses, and he has reached the conclusion that dropping singles when they are ready is “the way forward”, rather than putting out a whole album.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Calvin has always been a forward-thinker and believes just releasing singles is the way forward. Albums don’t sell how they used to and artists are now seeing streaming as the future. Albums are time-consuming and limit artists to cycles rather than having a persistent presence in the charts. Calvin is one of the most-streamed artists in the world so it would make sense to exploit that success.”
The ‘This Is What You Came For’ hitmaker has had consistent success in the charts, and he believes that he can cash in on that by just making the chart topping singles.
The change in direction for the musician comes after an increase in the importance of music streaming on sites such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
Last year, streaming edged past downloads as the most valuable music format, and with Calvin being the first British musician to hit one billion Spotify streams in 2014, the royalties the ‘Summer’ hitmaker will make from streaming looks to be on the increase.
Calvin – who has released four albums, ‘I Created Disco’, ‘Ready for the Weekend’, ’18 Months’ and 2014’s ‘Motion’ – will be starting the single-only process with ‘My Way’, which is due to be released on Friday (16.09.16).
The news comes after 53-year-old musician Seal revealed last month that he too only wanted to release singles as he doesn’t think it is “effective” to release albums any more.
He said: “The playing field is different these days. The concept of going into a studio for however long and making a concept album, so to speak, I don’t know if that’s relevant these days or if indeed that is practical to do. It’s certainly not so effective.”

The drummer enlisted the help of a personal trainer during his recovery and was forced to “start from scratch”.

The nerve damage caused from the disc herniation is slowly getting better. I’m working with @rogerframpton to build up some strength ready for Tour It’s like started from scratch but I’m loving the challenge (sic)”
Harry announced in May that McFly would have to postpone their tour following his injury.
He shared: “I’m absolutely gutted to say that we’ve had to postpone the tour as I’ve herniated a disc in my neck.
“I’ve honestly tried everything to make it work but I’d never want to do a tour where I wouldn’t be able to give you guys the 110% performance you deserve every night.

Lady Gaga's LP about being a 'tough woman'

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga’s new album is about being a “tough woman”.
The 30-year-old pop superstar teased fans of what to expect with her next record with the release of the lead single ‘Perfect Illusion’ last week and now she has said that the rest of the album is about her strength and overcoming certain struggles.
She said: “I think I am lucky I have a great family. I have advice ingrained in me not to give up. I’m a tough girl. And that is actually what the album is about. I’m a very tough woman.”
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker has also opened up about having to “stabilise” after the release of her 2013 LP ‘Artpop’ because of her fast rise to stardom.
She told the Metro newspaper: “I think a few years ago I was just figuring out how to hang on with life changing so much.
“When your career takes off like that you become a public figure. Anonymity is gone forever. It takes a moment to stabilise.”
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty has recorded a track with Florence Welch on her new album.
She previously shared: “There’s a feature on the album that I think you will be very excited about. Me and Florence Welch did a duet together. I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl. You’ll see why when you see what the song is about. I just thought, ‘Who do I want to sing with?’ She’s really to me, if not the best, one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She’s incredible.”
Gaga also revealed the lyrics on ‘Perfect Illusion’ deal with the pressures of social media and the “many fake things” in the world.
Speaking about the track, she said: “People feel pressured to live up to that perfect illusion in their real lives. This is about accepting that and letting go. I’m not saying not to use your phone, I’m not that crazy. I think social media is great. But there’s also a lot of things that are on the internet that aren’t reality … So this song is about raging against it and letting it go. It’s about wanting people to re-establish that human connection.”

According to The Sun newspaper, the shows are to mark two decades since the release of the number one track, which was released in 1997.
Their debut LP ‘Aquarium’ included the hits ‘Doctor Jones’ and ‘Roses Are Red’.
After the release of their second record, 2000’s ‘Aquarius’, they decided to call it a day.
At the time, they told Billboard magazine: “We have looked each other straight in the eye and reached the conclusion that, for the moment, the spark is missing.”
However, in 2007 they regrouped to mark their 10 year anniversary with a reunion tour.
They had planned 25 dates across Denmark, Canada, America and the UK, however, they ended up doing just eight in Denmark for Gron Koncert festival.

Jack White: My collaboration with Beyoncé is incredible

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack White says the track he wrote for Beyoncé is “incredibly intense”.
The 41-year-old musician has a writing credit on the 35-year-old’s track ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’, and the former White Stripes frontman has opened up about working on the “incredible song”.
He said: “She took just sort of a sketch of a lyrical outline and turned into the most bodacious, vicious, incredible song. I don’t even know what you’d classify it as – soul, rock and roll, or whatever it is. ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ is incredibly intense; I’m so amazed at what she did with it.”
The Dead Weather musician also revealed that the collaboration – which features on Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ album – came about when the ‘Halo’ hitmaker asked if she could be in a band with the rock heavyweight.
Speaking on NPR’s ‘All Things Considered’, he said: “I just talked to her and she said, ‘I wanna be in a band with you.’ I said, ‘Really? Well, I would love to do something.’ I’ve always loved her voice. I mean, I think she has the kind of soul singing voice of the days of Betty Davis or Aretha Franklin. So, I was really happy to work with her.”
‘Lemonade’ – released in April this year – also featured collaborations from Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and James Blake.
‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ also credits Led Zeppelin as a writer as the track samples their song ‘When The Levee Breaks’.

Dolly Parton started songwriting at 4

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton started writing songs at the age of four.
The ‘9 To 5’ hitmaker loved to make up songs when she was a child and admits her mother was “fascinated” by it.
She said: “I started making up songs when I was four or five. The first one I can remember was about a little corncob doll that my mother made for me and which I named Tiny Tasseltop.
“Mamma was fascinated by how I used to rhyme words, so she used to write them down and tell them to people. She kept shoeboxes full of songs that I wrote when I was little.”
And the 70-year-old singer also revealed she has a lot of her own songs locked up the vault, which she plans to “go back and rework”.
She added: “I’ve probably written 5,000 songs in my career. I’ve had hundreds and hundreds copyrighted and recorded, but there are so many more – boxes and trunks full of them – that I’ll go back and rework. I’ll think: that was a great title, or a great melody, but the song is not quite there yet.”
Dolly likes to plan ahead when she writes music and will usually “fast for a couple of days” before she does to get into a “clean, spiritual frame of mind”.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “Before sitting down to write, I often fast for a couple of days. This gets me into a clean, spiritual frame of mind and opens me up to inspiration.
“I bring along a whole suitcase of titles and half-written songs, and I take all my different instruments. If I’m writing mountain songs I like to play mountain instruments, whether it’s the dulcimer, the autoharp or the banjo, but mainly I write with the guitar.”

Barbra Streisand writes song for Donald Trump

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand has written a song about US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
The 74-year-old icon put her feelings about the outspoken businessman-turned-politician into a tune which she performed at an LGBT fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, Trump’s rival for the presidency.
In front of a 1,000-strong crowd, she sang: “Is he that rich? Maybe he’s poor. Till he reveals his returns, who can be sure?
“Something’s amiss, I don’t approve. If he were running the free world, where would we move?”
Streisand – who also sang renditions of ‘People’, ‘Pure Imagination’ and ‘Happy Days Are Here Again’ – continued: “And if, by chance, he gets to heaven, even up there, he’ll declare Chapter 11. This sad, vulgar clown. You’re fired, you clown.”
Last month, meanwhile, Streisand asked Apple to change how Siri pronounces her last name.
The ‘Woman in Love’ hitmaker is not impressed with how the iPhone assistant says her name so she phoned up the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, to ask for him to have it altered.
She explained: “She [Siri] pronounces my name wrong. Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career.
“And so what did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on September 30th. So let’s see if that happens because I will be thrilled.”

Gwen Stefani lost confidence

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani lost her confidence as a songwriter before working on her new album.
The 46-year-old singer released a new LP, ‘This Is What the Truth Feels Like’, in March, and though the subject matter was inspired by the breakdown of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale – the father of her sons Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo – she is thankful she had something to write about because she had been struggling creatively for so long.
She said: “At the time, not only did my family fall apart but my kids were taken away half the time. That was devastating. But if I didn’t have that time, I wouldn’t have written the record. I wouldn’t have healed.
“I had already lost so much of my confidence, even before all the tragedy. You don’t understand how far gone I was.
“There was a time when I was desperate to write. You have a long career and you don’t want it to end.
“You start to become competitive with what you’ve done before and competitive with things people have done after you, that are like you.
“So many times I’ve gone into the studio and people are excited about me being there, yet don’t have the confidence I can do anything any more.
“I had been praying I would find something. For this album I had the right team. When I wrote ‘Used to Love You’, that was a huge turning point.”
While ‘Used to Love You’ was written about Gavin, Gwen – who is now dating Blake Shelton – admits she hasn’t spoken to him about the song.
Asked how Gavin felt about the song, she told Cosmopolitan magazine: “I don’t know. I didn’t talk to him about it. But everything switched at that point, because I started falling in love, which was completely unexpected. I still can’t believe it.”
