Barry Gibb wants Justin Timberlake collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Barry Gibb wants to work with Justin Timberlake.
The 70-year-old Bee Gees legend has expressed his desire to make music with the ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ hitmaker as he has always felt like he would hit it off in the studio with the 35-year-old pop star.
He said: “I’d love to work with Justin Timberlake. That’s always been a thing in my head because I think we would click. You gravitate towards people that are creative and you hope that something good comes from it.”
Earlier this year, Barry joined Coldplay on stage at Glastonbury Festival and the ‘Stayin’ Alive’ hitmaker admits he didn’t think it was “realistic” at first because he is not a popular artist nowadays, but frontman Chris Martin, 39, persuaded him.
Of the surreal experience, he told ABC News: “[Coldplay’s] Chris Martin called me up and asked me to do it and … it didn’t sound realistic to me because they’re huge and this is their time. But he didn’t see it that way. He said, ‘No, no, you’ve got to do this.'”
Barry is the sole surviving member of the Bee Gees, as his youngest sibling Andy died in 1988 aged 30, while twin siblings Maurice and Robin passed away in 2003 and 2012 respectively, and has admitted it was hard to get back into writing music on his own, but his wife Linda encouraged him to get back to work.
He said: “For a long time, I didn’t want to. For at least six months after Rob passed, that was all of my brothers, Andy at 30, Maurice at 53 and Rob at 63.
“It was an exhausting time, not just for, but for mum and Lesley, my older sister, who still lives in Australia.
“So, yeah, I didn’t want to for a long time. And then my wife told me to get off my backside.”
Barry recently released ‘In The Now’, his first solo album in 32 years.

Meghan Trainor's therapeutic album

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Trainor has found writing her third album therapeutic.
The ‘All About That Bass’ singer only released her second record ‘Thank You’ in May, but is already hard at work on the follow-up and she has been getting everyone involved in the process including her best friend/personal assistant.
Speaking to Chelsea Handler about her plans on Netflix talk show ‘Chelsea’ , Meghan shared: “[I’m] Just writing for the next album. It’s like therapy for me.”
And talking about songwriting, she said: “Sometimes I’ll have my best friend, who’s my personal assistant, help me rhyme one word with another, and now she has writing credits on my album. I always need help.”
Most recently, Meghan co-wrote the song ‘Me Too’ for Michael Bublé with Harry Styles and the ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ hitmaker was full of praise for the pop beauty.
Michael – who has two-year-old Noah and six-month-old Elias with his wife Luisana Lopilato, 29, – said: “Listen, she’s a great singer and a great entertainer.
“What [people] may not know is what an incredible writer she is, what an incredible musician she is, [and] the fact that she’s a badass producer.”
Meghan previously revealed she was left red-faced when she performed a love song in front of Harry, 22, because he was one of the first famous people she ever met.
Of their encounter, she explained: “Performing a love song in front of Harry is terrifying, and on top of that I was a little nervous because he was one of the first celebrities I met.”
And getting to work with Michael was a dream come true for the blonde beauty, who had expressed her desire to love to work with him or Bruno Mars.
She previously said: “You know I would love to sing with Michael Bublé or Bruno Mars, I always sing along to their records and I’m like, ‘Sounds great! We should do this!’ and my mom would always say, ‘You and John Legend would sound great together!’ So when that happened it was one of those moments like, ‘Oh my gosh!'”

Bruno Mars on Adele's 'diva attitude'

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Mars says Adele was a “diva” when they worked together.
The 31-year-old singer co-wrote the song ‘All I Ask’ on the pop superstar’s latest LP ’25’ and said the ‘Hello’ hitmaker had an “attitude” and didn’t hold back in speaking her mind if she didn’t like something.
Of their time in the studio, he said: “She walks into the studio she’s got all this attitude, she’s a diva, she’s like, ‘I don’t want to do this. I don’t like that…'”
However, as soon as they had warmed to one and other they soon came up with the genius song.
Speaking on New York radio station KTU 103.5 FM, Bruno added: “And then as soon as we uh hit a couple chords that she liked, we started rolling, and that’s where we got that song from.”
The ’24K Magic’ hitmaker described one mind-blowing moment when Adele, 28, was recording vocals and compared it to the vibration dinosaurs caused in the movie ‘Jurassic Park’.
While praising the “superstar”, he said:” There was a moment when she was singing in the booth and I’m not exaggerating at all and the water was vibrating … like you know that scene in ‘Jurassic Park’ … She’s got some pipes on her, and she’s just a superstar.”
And despite Adele’s “diva attitude” Bruno is desperate to work with her again.
He said: “I don’t know what she’s waiting on man, I’m like come on Adele. like send an email, let me know!”
However, the R&B star will have a while to wait to get into the studio with the pop beauty as it was previously announced the singer would be taking a break from touring in order to spend more time with her family.
A source said: “Angelo is the number one priority for Adele. He is the most important thing in her life. She has brought him everywhere with her on tour but as he is starting school next year, he won’t be able to join her any more.
“Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up and it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him. Right now she is saying she won’t do another massive world tour like the current one for another 10 years.”

Justin Bieber teases new songs at student event

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber debuted two new songs at a student event in Manchester on Tuesday evening (25.10.16).
The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker – who is currently in the UK on his ‘Purpose World Tour’ – surprised a club full of people when he walked in with members of the Manchester Hockey team and performed two tracks including one called ‘Close To You’ at the ‘Taboo’ event held at the Tiger Tiger nightclub in the city in the north of England.
A source told The Sun Online: “It was absolute carnage when Justin walked in with his entourage just after midnight.
He was with around 20 people and some of the Manchester Hockey team who he’d been hanging out with earlier in the evening in Altrincham.
“Rather than just stick to the VIP area he was up partying with people and jumped into the DJ booth to play two new tracks and then left just after 3AM by the fire exit.”
Despite partying with the Manchester crowd of around 2000, the global superstar recently hit out at his fans during his set at nearby Manchester Arena.
He told fans: “I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love I appreciate the kind things.
But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you.
“I don’t think it’s necessary when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming.”
After receiving an echo of boos from the audience the star walked off the stage for two minutes.
Seeming to have a pet hate for screaming, he also hit out at fans in Birmingham, West Midlands, where he called his fans ‘obnoxious.’
He told the audience: “Just try to show me you love me, in a different way. I get it.
“The screaming is just so obnoxious.
“I get it, it’s been in our blood and it’s been grand, you go to a concert and scream and stuff.
“But if we could just … scream after the song, enjoy the songs … the screaming is awesome, it’s fine, and then we take a chill pill for a second and we just listen to me speak.”
The ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker will resume his ‘Purpose Tour’ on Wednesday night (26.10.16) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, West Yorkshire.

Pete Doherty announces two December UK shows

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Doherty has announced two UK shows for December.
The 37-year-old singer is to perform at London’s O2 Forum on December 6 and Manchester’s Albert Hall on December 7, in support of his first solo album ‘Hamburg Demonstrations’, which impacts on December 2.
Pete, who toured the UK in May, has just finished shows in Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Argentina with his band The Libertines.
The indie rocker recorded and mixed his hotly-anticipated album with The Libertines and Babyshambles producer Johann Scheerer in the German city of Hamburg, where he lived for six after stumbling across the Clouds Hill Recordings studio.
Among the songs on the tracklist is a brand new version of Pete’s tribute to the late singer and his close friend Amy Winehouse, ‘Flags Of The Old Regime’, which has now become ‘Flags From The Old Regime’.
Another track is ‘Hell To Pay At The Gates of Heaven’, which was inspired by the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks and makes reference to the late Beatles legend John Lennon’s guitars.
On the song, Peter sings: “Come on boys choose your weapon J-45 or AK-47.”
It is fitting as the former drug addict will be the first act to perform at Le Bataclan – the venue in the French capital which was stormed by extremist gunmen, who killed 89 fans at an Eagles of Death Metal concert – on November 16 and November 17.

Muse to have stage of magnets on next tour?

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse’s tour director has revealed the band want to have a stage made of magnets on their next tour.
Glen Rowe – who has been the rock group’s tour manger on-and-off throughout their career since 2000 – has revealed the ‘Psycho’ hitmakers’ elaborate plan to use pieces of material that connect on stage, which will allow the trio – comprised of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – to “levitate” from them.
Speaking at the MUSEXPO conference, he explained: “We want to do a stage made of magnets so the band can levitate on other magnets. It’s those questions that keep me awake every night of my life. If there are any magnet technicians out there, please come and see me because that’s what we’re trying to achieve.”
Glen – who has worked on shows with the likes of the Manic Street Preachers, The Kooks and The Zutons in the past – says his “permanent challenge” is trying to up the band’s game in terms of stage production.
He added: “It is ridiculous, but trying to dream up something more adventurous is always our challenge, where does the next bolt of lightning come where you capture the essence of it and trying to put it into a record or a tour, it’s definitely my permanent challenge.”
The British rockers used drones on their aptly-named ‘Drones Tour’ in April and a stage inspired by popular 1980s puzzle video game ‘Tetris’ at Glastonbury Festival.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga says Tony Bennett “restored her passion” for music.
The ‘Born This Way’ singer teamed up with the jazz legend on 2014 covers album ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and says their time spent working together liberated her.
She shared: “He restored my passion, my life changed so much putting out those records. It was so hard to get a grasp on all of it. Yeah I took some time away from pop music but acting and singing jazz that stuff was like being a teenager again.”
The 30-year-old beauty took a three-year break from pop music following the release of 2013’s ‘Artpop’ and admits to feeling pressured to write a pop record, however, she opted to go in a different direction.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine, she explained: “I think that was important for me, was not to feel caged. I’m very rebellious. Meanwhile, Gaga previously admitted she considered turning her back on the gritty industry and stalling her talent after the release of ‘Artpop’.
She explained: “I was just having a really depressed time in my life where wasn’t able to see my own ability or my own talent.
“And when you lose grasp of those sorts of things, you can just spiral.
“But you know, to the world ‘quitting music’ means one thing and to me its means another. I meant to giving putting out music, as opposed to just doing it for myself, which what makes me really and truly happy.”

Lily Allen debuts new song at Mark Ronson gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen debuted her new song at Mark Ronson’s show at The Savoy in London on Monday night (24.10.16).
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker took to the stage to perform two songs at the MasterCard Priceless event including a brand new electronic dance track, which she has created with the superstar DJ, and their 2007 Kaiser Chiefs cover of ‘Oh My God’.
The 31-year-old singer is still learning the words to the as-yet-untitled track as she had to read most of it from a lyrics sheet.
Speaking at her first concert in over a year, Lily told the crowd: “I haven’t played anything for about a year I’m really nervous.”
And it could mean her new album is on the way from the brunette beauty as she told the audience she has been in the studio with Ronson, 41 – who is just wrapping up promo for Lady Gaga’s latest record ‘Joanne’ – this week.
Before performing the new song, she said: “Mark and I have been in the studio a little bit this week.”
It was previously revealed Lily has teamed up with the ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker – her long-time collaborator – for her upcoming record and the producer said she has channeled the heartbreak caused by her separation from Sam Cooper into her lyrics.
Speaking earlier this year, he said: “We’ve been writing together again on the new record. I feel like they are some of the best songs she’s written. Her voice sounds incredible. The stuff I’m working on is some of her most honest and heartbreaking music ever. She writes so honestly you can feel it.”
Lily – who has two daughters, Ethel, four, and Marnie, three, with Sam – hasn’t released an album since 2014’s ‘Sheezus’ and Mark believes the music world needs her to return.
He said: “She’s like a needed performer. There’s nobody really doing s**t like that, really honest.”

Taylor Swift celebrates anniversary of debut album

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has paid tribute to her fans on the 10th anniversary of her debut album,
The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday (24.10.16), exactly one decade after she dropped her self-titled first record and praised her fans for “encouraging” her on this “adventure”.
Taylor posted a throwback picture of herself playing the guitar and wrote: “10 years ago today, my first album came out.
“I couldn’t be more grateful today, thinking back on how much fun we’ve had and how you’ve encouraged me to change and grow.
“It’s been such an adventure, guys. Thank you for all of it.”
Taylor released the album when she was just 16 and wrote many of its songs during her freshman year of high school.
Meanwhile, last month Taylor’s close pal Gigi Hadid revealed the star is working on her latest album, a follow up to ‘1989’, which was released in 2014.
Speaking after Taylor’s split from Tom Hiddleston, she said: “She’s obviously such a great friend, and you know she is starting to go back to work in the studio again.”
‘1989’ is widely believed to contain songs about Taylor’s brief relationship with One Direction singer Harry Styles, 22 and since then she has dated Calvin Harris, 32, for over a year and enjoyed a brief romance with Tom, 35.
And it was recently claimed that Taylor’s pal Selena Gomez advised the star to put her energy into working on a new record after her most recent love-split.
A source said: “When Taylor told Selena about the breakup, the first thing Selena advised Taylor to do was slow down. Selena has known about the Taylor and Tom split for a while.
“Selena’s advice was to take a break from men and to spend some time enjoying being single.”
Selena told Taylor to “focus her energy in the studio, and drop a new album before another boyfriend pops up”.

Louisa Johnson's solo single gets censored

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Johnson has been forced to change the lyrics on her debut solo single.
The ‘X Factor’ winner – who was crowned the champion of the singing competition last year – is to drop her track ‘So Good’ on Friday (28.10.16) but it’s been given a last minute makeover because bosses at her label aren’t keen on her explicit chorus.
A source told The Sun Online: “The chorus containing the F-word was changed at the request of senior staff at Simon Cowell’s label [Syco]. Bosses thought a clean version would be more appropriate for the radio.”
The chorus now sings: “I wasn’t supposed to go out tonight/ I should be at home I got work at 9/ shouldn’t be out here doing what I like/ but it feels so good, so good.”
The 18-year-old singer is set to return to the show that made her famous at the weekend when she debuts her solo single on ‘The X Factor’ in front of the judges.
She said recently: “If it all goes to plan then definitely [I’ll be on The X Factor].”
And it’s full steam ahead for the teenager this year as she’s also planning to drop her album next month and has teased that it’s very different from what people will expect.
She said: “It’s not one kind of genre. I love Caribbean-vibe music. Beyonce, old school R&B and everything from the 90s. I think people will be surprised when they hear it! … It’s been quite difficult to go straight from the show to the studio, but I just want to share my music. For me, my music is like a diary: it’s very real and honest, and I like to be open.”
Louisa may have only been in the industry less than a year but she’s already built up a bulging contacts book after she teamed up with Clean Bandit for ‘Tears’ earlier this year.
