Justin Timberlake's powerful album

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake’s forthcoming album punches people “between the eyes” with its sound.
The 35-year-old star is working on his fifth studio album and he admits it is going to be quite different to his 2013 double record ‘The 20/20 Experience’, insisting his upcoming LP will be “more singular”.
He said: “I wouldn’t say [my new material] is the antithesis of ’20/20,’ but it does sound more singular.
“If ’20/20′ sounded like it literally surrounds your entire head, this stuff feels more like it just punches you between the eyes.”
But Justin fans will have to keep waiting for news of a release for his fifth album as the ‘Mirrors’ hitmaker admits he doesn’t have a drop date in mind and will only put the record out when it feels “right”.
He said: “I think everyone I’m working with right now knows that I’m notorious for being like, ‘Yeah let’s work. I have no idea when I’ll put it out, though.’
“I’ll put it out when it’s done – when it feels right.”
Justin – who has 19-month-old son Silas with wife Jessica Biel – admits he is simply taking each day as it comes and “enjoying” his life more.
He added to Variety: “I’m just in the now of now. I think it’s an effect of just enjoying my life more. For a long time I lived my life for a lot of other people, or for the idea that those other people had an idea of me.
“And whatever – there’s a guy who’s gonna wake up tomorrow and transfer an organ from one body to another and save someone’s life — so what are we even doing?”
Justin has teamed up with Pharrell Williams on his next album and the producer has revealed the pair have six “solid” tracks ready for the record.
He said: “Song-wise, I think we’ve got a good solid six that are like, ‘Whoa, what was that? Play that again.’
“I would pay Justin a huge compliment to say he’s just discovering who he is now.”

Chris Martin tips Foxes to be pop superstar

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin wants to turn Foxes into a pop superstar.
The Coldplay frontman predicts big things from the ‘Body Talk’ hitmaker and has been giving the brunette beauty – whose real name is Louisa Rose Allen – plenty of advice on stardom, after she supported them on their American tour, and they could be set to collaborate with each other in the future.
Foxes said: “Yeah, I get on really well with Chris, he’s great and very talented.
“We did talk about doing something together, perhaps on a track for me. We would both really love to as we know we work well together.
“We’ve agreed it’s something we’ll do in the future.
“He always is so supportive and has given me plenty of tips and advice that’s really useful.”
The 27-year-old singer watched the ‘Up&Up’ hitmakers put on a show with different sounds each night and has been inspired to experiment with some new instruments.
On what she learnt from watching them perform, she said: “I’ve definitely taken stuff away from Coldplay, they are an amazing band with a huge fan base and really know to play with all sorts of sounds.
“It really inspired me and I can’t wait to try new things.
“I’m looking forward to writing again and trying news sounds, playing new instruments.”
Meanwhile, Foxes admitted she was “surprised” that the British rockers were party animals and even missed her ride home when they were in Detroit, Michigan after a wild night out.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “There were quite a few after parties on tour, which I’m actually surprised about!
“I thought they’d be really strict especially as they toured for like a year, but no, they’re actually daring.
“I got involved, why not? I actually missed the tour bus a few times. I ended up stuck in Detroit for a little bit too, but it was all worth it.”

Charlie Puth to release an album every year

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth has promised to release a new album every year.
The 24-year-old singer plans on regularly dropping new music to keep his fans happy because he wants to be the “people’s artist”.
He said: “I’m going to put out an album a year, I don’t want to go missing for four years and be all mysterious. I want to be the people’s artist.”
However, the ‘Marvin Gaye’ hitmaker also admitted that he wants to sell plenty of records so he can pay off his mortgage.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I want to keep giving them music, so they can make memories … and I can pay off my house.”
The pop hunk also said that he is able to write his best music when he is on the road.
He said: “I don’t love travelling, but I write better music when I’m on the move, when I’m comfortable.”
It comes a month after Charlie cancelled the remaining dates on his ‘Don’t Talk’ tour because he was “extremely sick”.
At the time, he tweeted: “Unfortunately I have to cancel the remaining dates on my ‘Don’t Talk’ tour. This is the last thing I want to do because I love being on the road performing and meeting every one of you. You are the reason I can do what I love most for a living and I am so thankful.
“I have been extremely sick pushing through these dates and haven’t taken the time my body needs to recover. Resting and taking time off the road is the only way I can get better and start performing for you again.
“I promise I will do whatever I can to make it up to you. I love you so much. I’m deeply sorry. Charlie (sic).”

Bruno Mars to release new song

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Mars is to release a new song on Friday (04.11.16).
The 30-year-old singer has only just released his smash hit ’24K Magic’ and is to treat his fans to another single from his next record at the end of the week.
Speaking on Capital Breakfast with Dave Berry, George Shelley and Lilah Parsons, Bruno said: “What can I tell you about the new album? You know what I’ll tell you guys … I wasn’t gonna do it but I’ve changed my mind. I’m gonna release one more song on Friday.
“I’m just gonna release a song on Friday because I’m the boss, and I wanna do that.”
Meanwhile, Bruno has teased that he is desperate to get into the studio with Mark Ronson after the pair’s worldwide smash hit ‘Uptown Funk’.
He said: “You know, after ‘Uptown Funk’ Mark went on tour and I was in the studio and he started working with Gaga. Mark is family, so hopefully me and Mark are gonna do hundreds of songs together. We’ll get back in.”
Bruno is to release his third studio album ’24K Magic’ on November 18 and teased that it is his “sexiest” record yet.
On what to expect from the eagerly-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’, he said: “Oh this might be the sexiest album I’ve ever created.”
The ‘Gorilla’ hitmaker’s long-term bass player Jamareo Artis previously said Bruno regularly played the piano over the phone to him to gauge his opinion on songs for the record.
He previously said: “Bruno will call me up and play some piano over the phone to see what I think of his ideas, and he’ll ask where he should go from there.
“Or I’ll go into the studio and he’ll have basic parts that he wants me to jam out on and do my thing. Most challenging is when he has me start a song out of nowhere, in any key with any groove or vibe.
“He’ll say to me, ‘Hey Jam, I need ‘Billie Jean’.’ That’s a lot of pressure, you know? You don’t just come up with ‘Billie Jean’ off the top of your head.
“All you can do is play what you’re feeling in that moment and hope it works. But Bruno knows how to make a hit, so if the part works for him, I know I’m in good hands.”

Taylor Swift to collaborate with Drake

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift and Drake are set to collaborate.
The ‘Shake It Off’ singer and the rapper have been spending a lot of time with each other recently and sources says it’s because they’re working on music together.
A source told the NY Post newspaper: “They’ve been in the studio collaborating.”
And as well as working with Drake, Taylor’s supermodel friend Gigi Hadid recently revealed Taylor is currently working on her follow-up album to ‘1989’.
Speaking previously, Gigi said: “She’s obviously such a great friend, and you know she is starting to go back to work in the studio again.”
Last month, Taylor paid tribute to her fans on the 10th anniversary of her debut album ‘Taylor Swift’.
The ‘Bad Blood’ hitmaker took to social media to celebrate a decade since she unveiled her first self-titled LP, and the singer songwriter credited her fans for encouraging her to “change and grow”.
Alongside a picture of herself sporting an electric blue hooded jumper, whilst playing the guitar, Taylor – who released the album at the age of 16 – wrote: “10 years ago today, my first album came out.
“I couldn’t be more grateful today, thinking back on how much fun we’ve had and how you’ve encouraged me to change and grow.
“It’s been such an adventure, guys. Thank you for all of it (sic).”

Adele: I'd be fine if I didn't tour again

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele has hinted she might never tour again.
The 28-year-old singer – who has four-year-old son Angelo with partner Simon Konecki – has admitted she would be “fine” if she didn’t play another concert and insists she only performs to please her fans rather than to make money.
She said: “I’d still like to make records, but I’d be fine if I never heard [the applause] again.
“I’m on tour simply to see everyone who’s been so supportive. I don’t care about money. I’m British, and we don’t have that … thing of having to earn more money all the time.”
Adele admitted she would pull the plug on touring if going on the road started badly interfering with her personal life and making things difficult between her and Simon or Angelo.
She added to Vanity Fair magazine: “All of my relationships are more important to me than any tour I’ll ever do. If my relationship with [partner] Simon or my relationship with [son] Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour.
“My life is more important to me than anything I’m doing because how the f**k am I supposed to write a record if I don’t have a life?
“If I don’t have a real life, then it’s game over anyway.”
The star is currently nearing the end of her 107-date worldwide ‘Adele Live Tour’, which ends on November 21 in Phoenix.
The ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker nearly teamed up with Phil Collins on her latest album, ’25’, but he recently admitted she “got a bit difficult to find” and the song never came to fruition.
He said: “Adele approached me and in my dark years when I didn’t really pay much attention to what was going on, when I was drinking myself to death.
“I didn’t know who Adele was so she called me and asked me if I wanted to write to her.
“She’d had two albums out by this point and sold billions of records.
“She was lovely, we met in London and she gave me a piece of music to finish which I went hell for leather to finish but then she got a bit difficult to find and then it was because she had just had a baby and it was a little bit early I read later.
“I didn’t have a phone number I just had an email address and I tried to stay in touch.”

Fifth Harmony have apple sauce on tour rider

OHMYGOSSIP — Fifth Harmony have apple sauce on their tour rider.
Singer Normani Kordei, 20, has revealed she has an addiction for the sweet condiment, which usually accompanies roast pork, and so they have plenty of the stuff with them when they go on the road.
She said: “I love apple sauce. I have an addiction – I don’t know what it is, but I just love the texture of it. It reminds me of baby food. Not that I like to eat baby food.”
The ‘Worth It’ hitmakers have also revealed they have massages and pray before they hit the stage.
Ally Brooke, 23, told Digital Spy: “Maybe even sometimes they give us a massage, believe it or not.
“Our wardrobe assistant is awesome and she can do a million things, including massage! We’re getting into costume, we’re warming up, and getting our water all at the same time. And then we pray too, before the show.”
And to get them into the mood before they belt out all their hits, the girl group – also comprised of Dinah Jane, Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui – love to listen to country music legends including Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood.
Normani said: “Well for the last few shows I’ve been requesting country music.
“I know it sounds super random, but we like Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt.
“The song that I go to lately has been ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’. It gets me pumped for the show and my adrenaline going.”
And while their life on the road seems calm and relaxing it is not always so as recently Ally was left terrified after a fan attack in Mexico.
The singer was performing with her bandmates when a man stormed the stage and tried to wrap his arms around her, just days after a fan tried to drag her to the ground at Monterrey airport in the country.
At the time, she said: “I am thankful that I or anyone else was not injured, as these incidents could have gone awry, I love the fans and appreciate their excitement and love for us, however, these situations could easily escalate in the wrong direction for us and the fans.
“I am fine though. I love our fans and am excited to continue performing my heart out on our 7/27 Tour!”

Diplo teases new Major Lazer music

OHMYGOSSIP — Diplo has teased new Major Lazer music is to be released in January.
The 37-year-old American DJ – who makes up one third of the electronic trio, also comprised of Jillionaire and Walshy Fire – shared with his 1.9 million followers that they will be dropping new tunes after sharing a preview of an unreleased song featuring rapper PartyNextDoor on Snapchat.
Diplo – whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz – wrote on Twitter: “New major lazer comes out in January. (sic)”
Following Diplo’s tweet, he has announced dates for a solo tour in Australia and has teased that there will be four new songs from the ‘Lean On’ hitmakers.
He told Triple j music: “I haven’t done any solo shows in Australia in venues for like eight years because I’ve only been playing the festival circuit so I wanna come back and do more of a club show.
“I’ve got some new Major Lazer records coming out at the top of the year… an Afrobeat record we did, some hip hop songs I’ve done, about four tracks, and some club stuff. Doing everything.”
Diplo previously said he wants artists to make songs that last “a lifetime”.
He admitted he thinks electronic dance music is in “decline” and urged musicians to create songs that will last “longer than the summer” and not just for “another radio cycle”.
Speaking about the music industry, he previously said: “Some of these [artists] are great that are part of [dance music] and make great music but for the most part you already see that it’s in decline.
“There hasn’t been a dance song on the radio except Calvin Harris and Rihanna this while year.
“[You have to think] What’s going to make people think about my band or my songs longer than the summer? You know, that’s what you should think about your position. How can this song last another lifetime not just another radio cycle?”
Major Lazer’s last big release was ‘Cold Water’ with Justin Bieber.

Paul McCartney almost quit The Beatles because of stage fright

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney almost ended his career with The Beatles because of stage fright.
The 74-year-old rocker has revealed in the early days of his career he would be “physically sick” before going stage and at one concert at Wembley in London he nearly gave it all up for good because it was so “painful”.
Asked by a fan on his website – www.paulmccartney.com – what his biggest fear is, he admitted: “Performing, it was always the idea that the audience didn’t like you and you had to prove yourself.
“I think that’s why a lot of people get stage fright and get nervous. You think, ‘Oh my god, I’m gonna be terrible, they hate me, and it’s all terrible.’
“And so I think that was one of the earliest fears. I remember nearly giving it all up when we were doing a concert in Wembley – which was a Poll-Winners concert – in the really early days of The Beatles.
“And I remember feeling physically sick with a knot in my stomach thinking, ‘I should give this up, this is just too painful, what am I doing?’ I got over it.
“And as you can see I didn’t give it up! So that’s two different kinds of fears.”
One of the ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker’s biggest fears is that no one will turn up to his shows, but he has learnt over the years that his fans admire him so his pre-show nerves are “not too bad” now.
Asked if he still suffers from nerves before going on stage, he said: “Not too bad. What I do is I always say to my promoter when a tour is coming up: ‘Put one show on sale and see how it goes’.
“And he’ll ring me back and say, ‘It’s sold out! Twenty minutes!’ So I’ve got to assume that they like me.
“So it gives you a confidence and I think I can probably relax, they probably like me. And it means you can enjoy the show more.”

Robbie Williams 'looked down on' at Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams claims he was “looked down on” by indie fans when he went to Glastonbury.
The 42-year-old singer attended the world famous music festival in 1995 – days before quitting Take That – and was pictured partying with Oasis, which did not go down with a lot of festival goers.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “There was a sort of indie fundamentalist mentality that was with us all the way through the 90s that was very apparent to me, where I was literally looked down on when I was in conversation with a lot of people in various drinking establishments. It was like people were scared that it was going to rub off on them; the Butlins redcoat or the Pontins bluecoat thing.”
And the ‘Party Like A Russian’ hitmaker says times have changed and pop stars are a lot more accepted in taht circle now.
He added: “We live in a very different world than we used to. I don’t think someone who’d left a pop band would feel the same way now. You know, one of One Direction being seen walking around Glastonbury isn’t the same as me walking around Glastonbury in 1995.
“When I was at Glastonbury it felt like the rest of the festival was like: ‘What the f**k are you doing here, you ****? And I sort of wanted to be OK with the big boys, I wanted to be accepted, there’s a playground mentality that carries on through life and at that time, I wanted to be accepted by the bullies, and that became part of the very fabric of my DNA: ‘Oh, I’ll be accepted by these people eventually, right, here’s my new album. Oh, they’re not accepting me, they’re not coming.'”

Michael Bublé: I was told my music wouldn't sell

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bublé was told his music would “never” sell.
The 41-year-old singer has sold over 55 million albums worldwide since his debut album was released in 2001, but it hasn’t always been easy as he was previously shunned by producer David Foster and told he would “never be signed” to the Warner Bros. record label.
Speaking on UK radio station BBC Radio 4, the ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ singer said: “[David Foster said] ‘You will never be signed to my label, I will never produce you. You are talented but I see no record sales for this genre of music.’
“To dismiss me, [Foster] said, ‘For $100,000 a track, I will produce on spec a record for you, and because I’m an executive of Warner Bros they’ll get first right of refusal.’
“And then he pushed me out the door thinking he would never see me again.”
But the encounter with the producer – who has worked with the likes of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion – only made the ‘Feeling Good’ musician more determined to raise the money and prove him wrong.
He added: “What he didn’t know was that I would go back to Vancouver and go bank to bank with a manager I had at the time and find an investor.
“I flew back to Los Angeles and went to David’s house, and he said ‘What do you want?’ And I said ‘Mr Foster I have the money.’
“He couldn’t believe I had come back. But he said, ‘All right’, and we started making the record.”
The challenges didn’t stop there, as the ‘It’s a Beautiful Day’ singer then had to convince Warner Bros. to sign him.
He said: “I walked into the Warner Bros records’ home in Burbank, and I don’t think I’d ever been as terrified.
“This executive named Tom Whalley came in the room and he said ‘Why should we sign you? We have [Frank] Sinatra.’
“And I said ‘With all due respect, Sinatra’s dead, don’t bury the music with him.’ I said ‘I’ll work hard and help fill the void and we will keep this music alive together’.
“Three days later, I was on the treadmill and my grandfather was with me, and the doors flung open and my grandfather said ‘Sunshine, you’re with Warner Bros’.”

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars face lawsuit over Uptown Funk

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have been hit by a lawsuit over ‘Uptown Funk’.
The 41-year-old producer released the song featuring the 31-year-old singer back in 2014, and now the duo has been handed a lawsuit from funk band Collage who claim the track sounds “almost indistinguishable’ from their 1983 song ‘Young Girls’.
A complaint obtained by Pitchfork states: “Upon information and belief, many of the main instrumental attributes and themes of ‘Uptown Funk’ are deliberately and clearly copied from ‘Young Girls,’ including, but not limited to, the distinct funky specifically noted and timed consistent guitar riffs present throughout the compositions, virtually if not identical bass notes and sequence, rhythm, structure, crescendo of horns and synthesisers rendering the compositions almost indistinguishable if played over each other and strikingly similar if played in consecutively.”
The lawsuit also argues that Mark and Bruno have both previously stated the track was inspired by 1980s electro-funk soul music, and so the pair could easily have heard ‘Young Girls’ and been influenced by it.
Collage are a Minneapolis based band who mainly released music in the early 1980s, and only one member – Larry White – is alive today, however the suit lists the estates of the other two members, Grady Wilkins and Lee Peters, as defendants.
Trinidad James, Jeff Bhasker, Devon Gallaspy, Phillip Lawrence, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner/Chappell Music, Atlantic Records, RCA Records and others are listed alongside Bruno and Mark in the lawsuit.
This isn’t the first time the pair have been accused of copyright infringement with the catchy summer anthem though, as earlier this year another band named The Sequence claimed the track copied their 1979 song ‘Funk You Up’. However, no lawsuit was filed for this case.
Collage are seeking damages and profits, though it is unknown what the sum of the lawsuit is at this time.

Billie Joe Armstrong: I love performing sober

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Joe Armstrong “loves” performing sober.
The Green Day frontman spent four months in rehab after an onstage meltdown in 2012 and though he was anxious about returning to the stage, he now finds performing live more fulfilling than ever.
He said: “I love it. I was having all these crazy neurotic thoughts like, ‘I hope I remember how to play guitar and how to sing’, but then as soon as you get up there, it’s just intoxicating to feed off the energy and adrenaline that’s going on in the crowd, and to be able to remember it all afterwards.”
The ‘American Idiot’ hitmaker admitted he turned to drink and drugs to mask his social anxiety.
He said: “I definitely suffer from my own forms of neuroses and depression and phobias.
“I always feel like the most awkward person when I’m in a crowded room. I have social anxieties and stuff like that, and I used drugs and booze to take care of that.”
The 44-year-old singer felt he had to go into rehab and face his problems “head on”, though he doesn’t want to draw on the specifics of what he was addicted to.
He told Q magazine: “I don’t wanna get too deep into my drug of choice … I had to deal with the situation head-on, because the thing about getting sober is, like, if you don’t do it the right way, you end up becoming a hermit and I definitely didn’t wanna lead that kind of life.
“So I had to sort of expose myself and be raw, which was great. It was something I needed to do. If you look at what I do on stage every night, it’s like those songs are every form of depression and anxiety, and I’m putting it all into a crowded room. So for me, it was always ‘drink a six-pack of beer before I go on stage’. But I can’t do that any more so it was definitely all about facing that in one good go.”

Oasis under too much pressure to reform

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis won’t reform whilst there’s still “pressure” on them.
Mat Whitecross – who directed the recently released documentary on the band called ‘Supersonic’ – has said that he still believes the rock heavyweights will reunite at some point, but not when they feel forced to do so.
The band – primarily consisting of feuding brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher – split after a row between the pair in 2009, and fans have been petitioning for a reunion ever since.
Speaking to Billboard, Mat said of the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ musicians: “The tricky thing is, the more people put pressure on them, the less likely it is to happen.
“But the way Noel talks about the fans at the end of the film is something he comes back to again and again. He’s very generous about their contribution, and I think he would do it for [the fans]. Noel has never said no, but he makes jokes about it. Liam says, ‘Come on, let’s get back on the road!’ He’s keen to do it.”
And Mat also states that the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers have no need to reform the band as they’re both financially well off, and hopes they’ll decide to come back “for the right reasons”.
He added: “The reason it hasn’t happened earlier is they’re in a position of luxury. They’re both rich men. They don’t have to be chasing the opportunity to try and get back together. So hopefully if they do come back, it’ll be for the right reasons, and because they both want to do it.”
The news comes after the 39-year-old director made similar comments about a reunion, pointing out the Noel, 49, never actually says no to getting the band back together.
He said previously: “Noel doesn’t say no. Whenever anyone asks him, which is probably every day, he doesn’t say no. He makes a joke and says it’ll have to be a filthy amount of money, or it’d have to be this or that, or get a mute button for Liam or something. But I feel like it’ll happen.”

Johnny Marr and Morrissey almost reformed The Smiths in 2008

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Marr and Morrissey almost reformed The Smiths in 2008.
The 58-year-old musician – who was formerly a member of the rock band from their formation in 1982, to their split in 1987 – has revealed he once met up with his former band mate in a pub and discussed the possibility of a reunion.
Writing in his upcoming memoir ‘Set The Boy Free’, Johnny wrote: “Suddenly we were talking about the possibility of the band reforming, and in that moment it seemed that with the right intention it could actually be done and might even be great.
“I was genuinely pleased to be back in touch with Morrissey, and [current band] the Cribs and I talked about the possibility of me playing some shows with The Smiths. For four days it was a very real prospect.
Johnny then details how the plan went wrong when Morrissey, 57, suddenly stopped returning his calls.
He wrote: “Morrissey and I continued our dialogue and planned to meet up again. I went to Mexico with the Cribs, and then suddenly there was radio silence. Our communication ended, and things went back to how they were and how I expect they always will be.”
Now, the ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out’ hitmaker doesn’t think he’ll ever rekindle his friendship with Morrissey – who has had a glittering solo career since the demise of The Smiths – as there’s “no need” for them to have a relationship.
Speaking in an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Johnny said: “I don’t [think I’ll rekindle my friendship with Morrissey]. I think it’s run its course. I don’t feel unfriendly in any way towards Morrissey – there’s just no need for it. One of the things we had in common was that we lived for work, and we’re too busy doing what we’re doing now.”
Meanwhile, Morrissey recently said that reuniting with The Smiths with Johnny “doesn’t make sense any more”.
Johnny Marr’s memoir ‘Set The Boy Free’ comes out on November 3.
