Bruno Mars' 24K Magic album all about sex

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Mars’ forthcoming album ’24K Magic’ is all about sex.
The ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker’s eagerly-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ is inspired by the hunky pop star’s youth spent flirting with the opposite sex to love songs at the school disco.
He told the latest issue of NME magazine: “For me, 95 per cent of music is about love. That’s why cavemen were hitting stones to get everybody around the fire and get them feeling sexy. It’s exactly the same principle, the same thing: just get people on the dancefloor, get the girls smiling.
“That was my childhood; that’s why I fell in love with music. Those 90s songs are what I was singing to get the girls in school, the songs that the girls like, what we were dancing to as children. New Edition. Boys II Men. Blackstreet. Mint Condition. Babyface. Jimmy Jam. Terry Lewis. Teddy Riley.
“I think that the reason why that music resonates so much for me is that it made it OK to dance – it was cool to dance.
“It was cool to be joyous, to have fun and wear some flashy s***. It was cool to fall in love and smile and flirt on the dancefloor.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Gorilla’ singer has admitted he doesn’t like his fans using their mobile phones at his shows because it spoils his “connection” with the crowd.
He explained:”I say it in my shows after the first song. I try to tell people, like, ‘Put your cameras down!’ It’s just, why I wanted to do music my whole life is because I fell in love with holding a microphone and being the Master of Ceremonies. And with that, seeing the reaction … that’s the art! That is the art – to feel the room. That’s what we get addicted to, this unexplainable feeling where you have the power to give people a night that they’ll never forget.
“But the phone thing created this wall, where I’m going, ‘Man, I can’t see no faces. I don’t know if you’re smiling, and you can’t dance because you’re worried about the shot so you’re not moving.’ And it’s a weird battle because you can’t complain about it because you have people at your show. But I promise you that if you put your phone down, then I’m gonna give you something.”
’24K Magic’ is out on Friday (18.11.16).

Anne-Marie almost booted off flight celebrating number one single

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie almost got thrown off of a plane after getting drunk in celebration of ‘Rockabye’ hitting number one.
The 25-year-old singer was boarding a flight from Berlin airport back to the UK when she found out she had climbed to the top of the UK chart with her smash hit with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul.
Air hostesses plied the blonde pop beauty with 10 bottles of champagne and some vodka, which resulted in the ‘Alarm’ hitmaker turning the flight into the scene from the comedy film ‘Bridesmaids’ when lead character Annie Walker [Kirsten Wiig] is drunk in first class.
She recalled: “I ended up so drunk on this plane and I was running up and down the aisles singing! I was making everyone else hate me and being so annoying.
“It was just like that scene in ‘Bridesmaids’ when she goes into first class drunk! It was so fun though.”
‘Rockabye’ is the first number one from the star, who shot to fame as a vocalist on tracks ‘Rumour Mill’ and ‘Love Ain’t Just A Word’ with drum and bass group Rudimental.
Despite becoming a successful solo artist, Anne-Marie insists she hasn’t left behind the group that contributed to making her a chart success.
She shared: “I am working with them still, they have helped with the production on my new solo album. They’re great friends but also musically we’ve done so much together and they’ve done so much for me, I wouldn’t leave them behind.”
In fact, Anne-Marie is going to appear on their third album as a thanks for all they’ve done for her.
She added to the Daily Star newspaper: “I will be on their third album too, it’s still being made so I don’t know how many songs I’ll feature on but yeah we’ve worked on it together.”

Culture Club cancel North American tour dates

OHMYGOSSIP — Culture Club have cancelled the remaining dates of their North American tour.
The iconic 80s pop group – fronted by Boy George – axed their show in Kelowna, Canada on Monday (14.11.16) with executives from the venue Prospera Place saying it was due to “personal matters beyond the control of the group”, and now they have called off a further eight shows.
The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmakers’ first gig in New Zealand in Christchurch on December 2 has also been axed, according to the band’s official website.

A furious George said: “You know what, why don’t you move on to something more helpful, you know what I mean.”
He then got out of his chair and said: “In fact, you know what … thank you.”
He later took to Twitter and fumed: “I will open that can of worms when I am ready. Not while things are going so well for me.”

Dave Grohl cured James Bay's Grammys nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl made James Bay’s nerves go away before he performed at the Grammys.
The ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker awkwardly bumped into the Foo Fighters frontman backstage at the prestigious awards bash in February after going to the toilet and to break the ice he explained that he couldn’t shake his hand because they were wet from washing them.
However, the 26-year-old singer says the surreal moment made him feel “pretty zen” after their chat and his pre-show anxiety slipped away.
He told the latest issue of Q magazine: “On the night, I was performing [with fellow New Artist nominee Tori Kelly] and kept saying to myself beforehand, ‘I’m nervous and it’s going to get worse.’
“I was wandering backstage and Dave Grohl went, ‘Hey! I know you!’ He tried to shake my hand but I had to say [wipes hands on thighs], ‘I’m sorry, it’s very wet, I’ve just been to the toilet and there were no paper towels.’
“He didn’t recoil, he was a consummate pro. That helped break it up and keep it light. When I got to the bottom of the
steps about to perform, the nerves all just fell away and I was pretty zen – that’s what I recall most about the night.”
Meanwhile, the troubadour-wearing rocker has revealed he performed his biggest hit ‘Hold Back The River’ with England football captain Wayne Rooney and he is quite the fan.
Recalling the duet, he shared: “I performed at The England Footballers Foundation charity event in May in front of the England squad. Wayne Rooney sang ‘Hold Back The River’ with me while Gary Neville played guitar. Wayne’s a wonderful, wonderful bloke who likes to sing and loves music. Gary was wicked. Bless him, he was so nervous. To see Gary Neville shaking is humbling cos he’s done so much on the pitch.
Pelé was there too There were a few people there to meet him but he just pushed through the crowd – and he’s got guys to help him walk because you can’t imagine what his legs have been through with opponents trying to kick him off the pitch – and said, ‘I loved your music.

Rolling Stones' latest album brought them closer together

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones’ new album brought Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards closer together.
The pair – who have always had a tumultuous relationship throughout their career spanning five decades – appear to be getting softer with age as Richards, 72, says although the 73-year-old rocker gets on his nerves sometimes, he loves him and they’ve learnt to “forgive and forget” the past.
Keith said: “I love the man. That doesn’t mean I can’t get p****d off occasionally, and I have no doubt it goes the other way around. But you have to forgive and forget, and also I would say that 89 percent of the time we’re in total agreement. But people only hear about the 11 percent, you know, where it flares up.”
Richards said it’s amazing he and Jagger are still alive and that the legendary rock group would be “fairly bland” without their fall outs.
He said: “What would the Stones be without it? If you had the perfect machine and everybody in total agreement, you’d probably be fairly bland  …  It’s amazing we’re both alive. I celebrate Mick’s life. He’s always five months older than me!”
The ‘Satisfaction’ hitmaker was full of praise for his bandmate and thinks their 25th studio album ‘Blue & Lonesome’ is Jagger’s “best record”.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: “This is the best record Mick Jagger has ever made.
It was just watching the guy enjoying doing what he really can do better than anybody else. And also, the band ain’t too shabby.”

Katy Perry adds election songs to album

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry is rewriting her album to include songs about the recent shock US Presidential election.
The ‘Firework’ hitmaker was expected to drop her fifth studio album by the end of the year but the record could now be pushed back after she started penning songs about Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton, who the raven-haired star was a big supporter of.
A music insider said: “Katy has reworked the direction of her album so it reflects what she believes to be unsettling and changing times.
“She had the album ready to release by the end of the year but … has been inspired to write new songs which she wants to add to it.”
Katy – who hasn’t released an album since 2013’s ‘Prism’ – is now hoping her new tunes can help to bring “peace and unity” to the US after a number of people started protesting following the Republican’s victory.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “As such a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter, she was heavily involved with the presidential election but was shocked at how volatile it became.
“She hopes her new music can inspire healing, peace and unity after Trump’s win.”
Following the US election result last week, Katy, 32, revealed her parents had voted for Trump.
She said: “What a great country this is that gives us the freedom to express our differences, our opinions, our hopes and our fears.
“Tonight, my parents voted for Trump. But you know what? We will still all be sitting at the same table for Thanksgiving.”
This comes after Katy appeared to confirm she will be going on tour next year by responding to a Twitter troll who hit out at her career and standalone track ‘Rise’, claiming it was a “flop”.
She responded: “See you at my show 2K17.”

Kanye West adds new LA show

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West has added another show in Los Angeles to make up for an axed performance.
The 39-year-old rapper was forced to cut his concert at The Forum in Inglewood, California, short at the start of this month after suffering with throat problems which prevented him from continuing his performance.
The ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker has added a new show at the same venue on November 20 to make up for his early exit, this time hoping to deliver a stellar performance on his unique floating stage that projects light and hovers above the crowd.
Ticketholders at the original concert on November 3 who haven’t already received a refund will be sent a special code which will allow them access to the rescheduled date for free.
The ‘Famous’ rapper is also offering a number of free entry tickets to students in selected inner-city schools and music programs in Los Angeles, giving plenty of people the opportunity to see the iconic rapper live.
The news comes after Kanye cut his previous gig short during a performance of ‘Only One’ about an hour into his set, claiming he couldn’t “finish” the concert.
He said on stage at the time: “My voice is so hoarse, I can’t finish the show. … I promise I’ll do better next time.”
And it isn’t the first time Kanye as had to reschedule dates.
He previously announced his second leg of North American tour dates on his current ‘Saint Pablo Tour’ would include the rescheduled dates in Philadelphia and Detroit, after the star was forced to postpone the shows when his wife Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France, last month.
For those unable to get their hands on free tickets, a select number of general sale tickets will be made available on Friday (18.11.16), ahead of the concert on Sunday (20.11.16)

Liam Gallagher's solo LP is 'acoustic' and 'Lennony'

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher’s debut solo album is a collection of acoustic tracks inspired by John Lennon.
The 44-year-old rocker has given fans a taste of what to expect from his eagerly-anticipated record and one thing he was keen to get across was that it’s nothing like Oasis and has a “vibe” of the late Beatles legend.
He said: “It’s a pretty Working Class Hero kinda thing – Lennony vibe, you know what I mean. It’s like acoustic.
“Then there’s a couple of rock and roll tunes on there, but it’s not Oasis man. It’s not f*****g stadium rock, you know what I mean?”
The ‘Champagne Supernova’ singer has also admitted he is pretty lazy when it comes to songwriting as he’s always relied on his brother and arch-rival Noel Gallagher, 49, to pen the lyrics for their records.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I’m quite happy being the f*****g cool bastard. I’m not a***d about writing songs – you do it because you have to.
“Noel was the songwriter of the band and I was the singer. I didn’t wanna be a songwriter. We can’t even f*****g speak together; imagine writing a f*****g song together.”
Liam recently admitted he doesn’t think his solo album will be as “good or important” as anything Oasis did.
The outspoken star is keen for his former band – who split in 2009 following an explosive row between him and his brother, guitarist Noel Gallagher – to reunite but thinks he needs to wait for his older sibling to “lighten up” before that will happen.
So in the meantime, Liam is keeping busy in the studio working on record.
He said: “Being out of Oasis has been like a big f***in’ hole, but that’s life. And I’m dealing with the f***in’ guy that likes to be in f***in’ control so I’ll have to wait for him to lighten up. Or for his missus to let him join a rock ‘n’ roll band again.
“I’m ready to go, my f***in’ suitcases are packed. I know for a fact I could still whip me a**e out of them songs. If it happens it happens if it doesn’t it doesn’t.
“In the meantime I’m doing a f***in’ record on me jacks. And that won’t be nearly as good or as important.”

Robbie Williams fears tour will clash with Take That's

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams fears his tour will clash with Take That’s.
The ‘I Love My Life’ hitmaker is embarking on a UK tour at the same time as the ‘Rule the World’ hitmakers and he said it would be “horrible” if their fans had to choose who to see, but he accepts that it is bound to happen.
Asked by Heart radio presenter Toby Anstis if any of their shows in June overlap, he said: “Most probably I would think so, I hope not, I wouldn’t want people to have to choose.
“No, that would be horrible. Probably yeah, we’re both going on tour at the same time next year.”
Meanwhile, asked if he would go and see his bandmates – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – on his night off he said he would love to and he wouldn’t be tempted to go on stage with them.
He replied: “Yeah, absolutely! No, not at all. I’ve been to see them, yeah I did that at The O2. I just watched it as a fan and really, really enjoyed it!”
Robbie reunited with Take That on stage last week.
The 42-year-old singer was joined by his bandmates Gary, Mark and Howard at London’s Troxy, where he was performing a special show to mark him being presented with the BRITs Icon Award.
The ‘Never Forget’ hitmakers shocked fans by taking to the stage to present the hunky star with the prize and performed hits ‘Back For Good’ and ‘The Flood’ with him.
Howard told Robbie: “Whether you like it or not, you will always be a member of Take That.”
Robbie had earlier admitted that he doesn’t have time to team up with the group in the next 12 months, but they will “definitely” reunite again at some point.
He said: “It might happen, who knows, but right now I don’t think so.
“Reunion at some point, definitely – but we just couldn’t get our diaries to work in the next 12 months.”
Tune into Toby Anstis on Heart, weekdays 9am – 1pm.

DJ Ashba won't rejoin Guns N' Roses

OHMYGOSSIP — DJ Ashba doesn’t see himself returning to Guns N’ Roses.
The 44-year-old guitarist joined the ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ band in 2009 and left in July 2015 to focus on his own band Sixx:A.M. – which also features Nikki Sixx and James Michael.
He now says he doesn’t plan on rejoining the group – also comprised of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan – because he thinks they are doing well “without” him.
Speaking during an interview with Irish website Overdrive, he explained: “To be honest, I think they are doing great without me, and really, I don’t see myself going back to Guns N’ Roses ever again. Those days are over for me. I’m having a blast doing what I’m doing with Sixx:A.M. and couldn’t be happier with the way things have panned out for me. My heart is totally committed to all things Sixx:A.M. right now and I’m very excited about the prospect of touring and writing more music with Nikki and James [Michael].”
Ashba has admitted that a huge “weight” was “lifted” when he departed the band and while he learnt a lot from the six years he performed with them, he is glad not to have so much pressure on himself.
He said: “It really does feel like a humongous weight has been lifted off my shoulders, for sure.
“That was as huge responsibility for me being in Guns N’ Roses, and, to be honest, I didn’t really know just how big that weight was going to be. I learned a lot from my time with GNR and am very grateful for it all.
“I experienced something for six whole years that money can’t buy and I was able to take away a huge amount of self-growth and an insight into the workings of a huge band like that.”
One of the biggest struggles for Ashba was how much “criticism” he received, but it has only made him stronger and allowed him to grow a “thick skin”.
He added: “I didn’t for one moment, anticipate that along with such a great gig, was going to be so much criticism, as well as a lot of praising and a lot of everything!
“The whole experience really made me grow thick skin real quick [laughs] and be aware of my surroundings.”

Frank Ocean to ditch making albums

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Ocean may never release another album.
The 29-year-old singer has said that now he is no longer signed to a record label, after he splitting from Def Jam Recordings, he doesn’t feel the need to release a full collection of songs and might stick to a “half-a-song format”.
In a rare interview with The New York Times, he said: “Because I am not in a record deal, I don’t have to operate in an album format. I can operate in half-a-song format.”
Frank says it was important for him to self-release his first album in five years, ‘Blonde’, because he wouldn’t have to worry about how it would do in the charts like his previous albums including 2012’s ‘Channel Orange’.
He said: “With this record [‘Blonde’] in particular, I wanted to feel like I won before the record came out, and I did, and so it took a lot pressure off of me about how the record even would perform after the fact. Once the goal is met, everything else is lagniappe. It’s not essential for me to have a big debut week, it’s not essential for me to have big radio records.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Swim Good’ hitmaker has teased that he could be moving away from music to try something new that he is a “novice” at.
He said: “I believe that I am one of the best in the world at what I do, and that’s all I ever wanted to be.
“It’s more interesting for me to figure out how to be superior in areas where I’m naive, where I am a novice.”

Rihanna to release albums on vinyl box set

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna is to release all eight of her studio albums in a vinyl box set.
The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker is to put out her records ‘Music Of The Sun’, ‘A Girl Like Me’, ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’, ‘Rated R’, ‘Loud’, ‘Talk That Talk’, ‘Unapologetic’, and 2016’s ‘Anti’ in a bumper 15-LP package.
According to The Vinyl Factory, the box set comes complete with oversized reproductions of the booklets which came with the original CDs in a 186-page hardback book.
Rihanna fans will also be treated to a signed slipmat in the collection which will be house in a slipcase with the Bajan beauty’s signature printed on.
It will be a first for five of the 28-year-old star’s albums which have never been immortalised in vinyl beforehand.
Seven of the eight albums have been pressed to double vinyl, with the exception for the singer’s sixth studio album ‘Talk That Talk’, which included the singles ‘You da One’ and ‘Where Have You Been?’.
The vinyl collection box set is to be released on December 16 but a price is not yet known.
Rihanna’s duet with Ne-Yo, ‘I Hate that I Love You’, is among the songs which will be released on vinyl as it appeared on her third studio album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’, and he recently admitted another collaboration with the 28-year-old star is “overdue”.
He said: “We’ve been moving opposite directions – not with animosity or anything like that.
“The chemistry between me and Rihanna is on record. I feel like we’re overdue.”

Frank Ocean: The Grammy system is 'dated'

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Ocean didn’t submit ‘Blonde’ for consideration at the Grammys because he finds the system “dated”.
The 29-year-old singer failed to put forward his critically acclaimed album in time for consideration at next year’s glitzy award show, a decision he made in protest of the ceremony failing to “represent” people who come from his background.
Speaking to the New York Times newspaper, the ‘Novacane’ hitmaker said: “That institution certainly has nostalgic importance. It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for people who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down.
“I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated. I’d rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience.”
The decision to sit out the awards ceremony comes as the ‘Thinkin Bout You’ musician noted there had been only six black Grammy winners since he was born in 1987.
And Frank might not be the only star who fails to attend the awards show in February, as music mogul Kanye West previously claimed he would boycott the ceremony if the ‘Swim Good’ singer’s music was missed off the nominations.
He said: “The album I listened to the most this year is Frank Ocean’s album.
“And I’ll tell you this right now: if his album’s not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys. As artists, we gotta come together to fight the bulls**t they been throwing us with.”
A source confirmed in October that neither of his records were submitted for consideration by his management, record labels or other representations, despite both his 2016 efforts – ‘Blonde’, and his visual album ‘Endless’ – being released in plenty of time before the cut-off point of September 30, 2016.
Despite Frank’s absence, the Grammys will be broadcast on February 12 2017.

Prince's record label sue Roc Nation

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince’s record label has sued Roc Nation for illegally streaming the late music legend’s songs.
NPG Records claim that the Jay Z-owned company do not have the rights to the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker’s digital catalog and therefore should not be sharing his songs on paid-for service TIDAL.
According to the Star Tribute, a lawsuit was filed by NPG and NPG Music Publishing on Tuesday (15.11.16).
Prince’s music is already believed to be at the centre of a row between Universal Music Publishing Group and TIDAL.
The ‘Kiss’ singer’s estate agreed last week to sell the his songwriting rights to Universal – meaning his music could become more widely available to stream – but the ‘Encore’ rapper’s company have insisted they have exclusive rights to the work.
According to the New York Post newspaper, TIDAL – who put out Prince’s final albums, ‘Hit n Run Phase One’ and ‘Hit n Run Phase Two’ – began lobbying a Minnesota court before the Universal deal was struck, claiming the ‘1999’ singer had granted them exclusive rights to his catalogue of master recordings.
Last month, TIDAL submitted a legal letter to probate court Judge Kevin Eide and claimed they would seek injunctive relief if any deals struck by Prince’s estate – which still has ownership of his songs – violate the agreement they made with the star.
According to TIDAL, Prince had agreed to grant them streaming rights to a ‘Hit n Run’ remix album, another new LP and the rights to his back catalogue.
However, a source claimed the streaming service only had a one-year deal to stream Prince’s music and are not entitled to rights in the long term.
Prince’s estate is managed by industry veterans L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman – who were appointed by bank Bremer Trust – but the ‘Little Red Corvette’ hitmaker’s siblings are reportedly not happy with McMillan and are also keen on being involved with controlling the rights to his music.
In 2015, the singer – who died from an overdose in April – pulled all his music from other streaming apps such as Spotify.

The 1975 want to headline Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975 want to headline Glastonbury Festival.
The indie rock band’s frontman Matt Healy, 27, feels confident that the ‘Love Me’ hitmakers are worthy of headlining the music extravaganza held at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England in June, however, he has ruled out the possibility of heading up the Pyramid Stage in 2017.
He shared: “I want to headline Glastonbury! Not next year, but soon. I never used to say stuff like this – I’m not a mental, insane narcissist – but there’s so much faux modesty in music now. It’s transpired that we get to play arenas all over the world, so why now would I not want to headline Glastonbury?”
The ‘Chocolate’ singer thinks the group are the only “real option” to head up the main stage as a young guitar band on their second album and admitted he didn’t believe others were worthy of the slot.
The hunky rocker also seemingly took a swipe at Arctic Monkeys by saying if they can headline on their second record then so can they.
Speaking to Q magazine, he said: “Of all the young bands on their second albums at the moment, which one do you reckon is going to headline Glastonbury? I’m not being a d*******, but who is it going to be? If you want a young guitar band to headline Glastonbury in the next few years, The 1975 are the only real option … If Arctic Monkeys can do it on their second album, I can f*****g do it, no problem. So let’s do this interview again in a couple of years … and your first question will be, ‘How did you feel about your second-from top slot at Glastonbury this year?'”
Radiohead are currently the only confirmed act will be taking to the main stage on Friday June 23.
Other acts that are rumoured to be fulfilling the line up include Guns N’ Roses, Kasabian, Ed Sheeran and Rihanna.
