Bebe Rexha wants 'sexy' David Beckham in music video

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha has hatched a plan to become a global superstar – by getting “sexy” soccer ace David Beckham to star in one of her music videos.
The 27-year-old pop beauty has admitted she wasn’t impressed with the amount of views the video for her latest single ‘I Got You’ received, despite reaching over 15 million hits, and has confessed that she thinks her next one needs to feature someone hot like the 41-year-old retired sports star.
She shared: “I was shocked, I was like: ‘OK let’s put this video out, whatever blah blah blah, hopefully it gets one million views this week’ and then it had 100,000 views in one hour! I knew it was good but I didn’t love it so I was shocked. It was missing like a sexy guy, like David Beckham!”
Meanwhile, the ‘No Broken Hearts’ hitmaker has revealed she won’t be spending Valentine’s Day (14.02.17) with a special companion this year and she thinks it is because she is “bitch”.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I don’t have a Valentine. I will date anybody that gives me their time, and actually answers my texts, honestly no guys answer my texts, I swear to God. I think it’s because I’m such a bitch, I really am.
“Now I’m in a position where I feel I know what I want, I respect myself and I won’t let a guy run me around.”
And while she insists she just wants a guy who replies to her messages, they’d need to be loaded and tall.
She quipped: “I just want someone to love me, be nice to me, have a big bank account and be six foot eight.”
Bebe releases her debut album ‘All Your Fault’ on February 17, and previously said the release feels as though she’s “giving birth” to her first child and she is wary of people’s reactions to the songs because the lyrics are “extremely personal”.
She said: “I have put absolutely everything into my album. I feel like it’s been such a long journey to get here it is like giving birth to my first child and I want to make sure I did everything right. It’s extremely personal, I did not hold back, I talk about everything from ex-boyfriends to friends, and growing up in LA. I’m very insecure and I tend to hold things close to my heart, the album is purely about me and my experiences so that’s a huge thing. I do believe in myself it’s just that everyone will judge me on this and that’s hard, I’ve not played it to many people, I tend not to want to show it off before it’s out. I just really want to make sure it’s the best I can possibly do.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blondie, Mike + The Mechanics and Starsailor will join Phil Collins at British Summer Time Hyde Park on June 30.
The ‘Heart of Glass’ group and the ‘Against All Odds’ hitmaker’s former Genesis bandmate Mike Rutherford’s band will take to the stage at the Royal Park along with the ‘Alcoholic’ rockers for Phil’s only UK and European festival performance of 2017.
Blondie – fronted by Debbie Harry – will be joined by their newest recruits, Leigh Foxx, guitarist Tommy Kessler and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen for what looks set to be a show-stopping performance.

The ‘Good Souls’ hitmakers haven’t released an album since 2009’s ‘All the Plans’, but will no doubt take fans on a nostalgia trip with songs from their back catalogue, which is comprised of 10 Top 40 hit singles.
Phil, 65, will embark on his ‘Not Dead Yet: Live 2017 Tour’ before playing Hyde Park, which kicks off with a five day residency at London’s Royal Albert Hall from June 4 to June 9.
Speaking previously about coming out of retirement for the shows, he said: “The reaction from the British public has been overwhelming. I can’t wait to play Hyde Park and see everyone there.”
And fans could be in for a treat as the music legend has vowed to perform the drums at least once while he’s on the road, despite suffering from crippling back pain, and he’s hoping he will pick up the sticks for his biggest hit ‘In The Air Tonight’.
He recently said: . I’m going to do something and hopefully be playing that.
“And I am going to apply myself to do something and hopefully be playing that particular thing (‘In The Air Tonight’) with my son Nick, who is playing drums on the tour.”
BST also sees The Killers, Green Day, Justin Bieber, Kings Of Leon and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers headlining in June, with more support acts expected to be announced in the coming months.

Sam Smith pens song for Matt Terry

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith has penned a song for Matt Terry.
The ‘Stay With Me’ hitmaker has paid the 23-year-old singer – whose debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ was written by Ed Sheeran – back after he turned down doing a duet with him on ‘The X Factor’ last year by sending him some lyrics to record.
Matt – who performed Sam’s smash hit Bond theme ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ on the ITV talent show – told the Daily Star newspaper: “When I did his song it was an amazing moment. So to record a song written by him now is so exciting.”
The dark-haired hunk previously revealed how he’d been receiving some advice from the 24-year-old pop star.
He shared: “What are the chances? It’s just crazy. I had a bunch of questions to ask him about his career. It was pretty cool. He’s an artist I’ve listened to since he started and I think his career is just insane.
“He told me he’d heard me sing ‘I’ll Be There’, which he thought sounded good. He said to me to just keep doing what I’m doing.”
As far Matt’s album, he will reportedly release his music through Sony label RCA, rather than music mogul Simon Cowell’s own Sony subsidiary, Syco – which looks after the likes of previous contestants Little Mix and James Arthur – as music executives think he could be the next Olly Murs.
A source previously said: “Simon and Sony have had a think and believe that Matt is very much an artist in the mould of Olly Murs.
“And to that end, they both believe he should be a label mate of Olly’s on RCA.”

Diplo praises 'disciplined' Nicki Minaj

OHMYGOSSIP — Diplo has “never had an artist so disciplined” as Nicki Minaj.
The ‘Lean On’ hitmaker is thrilled he has had a chance to work with the ‘Superbass’ rapper as he has wanted to do so for a couple of years.
He told Zane Lowe: “I was working on some stuff for her record. The timing was right. I’ve been trying to get Nicki to do something with us for a couple years now.
“She wrote 16 different verses for this song. She’s so inspired. It’s crazy. I’ve never had an artist be so disciplined on cutting a song … She’s one of my favourite rappers.”
Meanwhile, Diplo previously admitted he wants artists to make songs that last “a lifetime”.
He said: “Some of these [artists] are great that are part of [dance music] and make great music but for the most part you already see that it’s in decline. There hasn’t been a dance song on the radio except Calvin Harris and Rihanna this while year.
“[You have to think] What’s going to make people think about my band or my songs longer than the summer? You know, that’s what you should think about your position. How can this song last another lifetime not just another radio cycle?”
And the 38-year-old music producer believes the industry is making a U-turn and is heading towards hip hop music.
He explained: “I think people have moved on. They’ve moved on to hip-hop again.”
And Diplo has admitted to exploring other career paths but says he was never any good at anything other than music.
He shared: “I’ve tried doing jobs I was just bad at them, I couldn’t keep one. I think music was the release. I don’t think was great at it. You’re kind of faking it until you make it.
“If you can learn how to survive and make music and be a creative person in Philly [Philadelphia], you can make music anywhere. It’s so tough just to make a living.”

Wiley appears to confirm Glastonbury performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Wiley has seemingly confirmed he will appear at Glastonbury 2017.
The 38-year-old rap star – who is widely known as the Godfather of Grime – has suggested he will perform at the iconic music festival in Somerset, England, later this year in a series of Twitter posts.
He wrote: “Can’t wait for @GlastoFest its gonna be sick. (sic)”
Later, Wiley – whose real name is Richard Cowie – added: “Come to @GlastoFest with me I need to show you something. (sic)”
Wiley’s apparent appearance at the festival may come as something of a surprise after the rapper previously pulled out of a planned performance at Worthy Farm back in 2013.
After arriving in Somerset to find a wet and windy scene, Wiley said the festival weren’t paying him enough to “leave my comfort zone”.
He also sent tweets to the official Glastonbury Festival Twitter account, telling the organisers to “please cancel me I do not want to play for you ever again”.
Among a memorable series of angry tweets, the rapper said: “f**k them and their farm”.
But the rapper appears to have had a dramatic change of heart in recent times and when he asked if he was trolling the festival, Wiley replied: “I realised the importance of this festival in my older age.”
He added: “Rain or shine at Glastonbury this year is gonna be amazing because I know understand the real meaning of a #festival #letsgo (sic)”
Earlier this month, it was announced Wiley is to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the 2017 NME Awards.
The rapper – who released his critically-acclaimed 10th studio LP ‘Godfather’ on January 13 – has been honoured with the prestigious title for being an “inventor” of the grime genre.
The ‘Wearing My Rolex’ hitmaker said: “Thank you for everyone’s support and thank you NME for this award. It’s because of the fans support that I am here, and my family and friends who’ve been behind me from day one. This for all the massive and the crew.”

Ozzy Osbourne: 'Lemmy is watching over me'

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne believes Lemmy Kilmister is watching over him.
The Motörhead singer and bassist – who tragically died in December 2015 only two days after finding out he had an “extremely aggressive cancer” – was a close friend of the Black Sabbath star and Ozzy believes Lemmy is keeping him safe.
He told The Times: “I reckon it’s Lemmy. Lemmy was a good friend mine. He always used to say he thought I’d die first. Of course I feel lucky that I didn’t. I phoned him half an hour before he went and I knew there was something not right. Me and Sharon drove over, but was gone.”
Ozzy, 68, is also extremely proud of Black Sabbath’s success and has praised the band for making it on their own.
He said: I am prouder of that than anything. We were working-class kids with f***-all, not even a full set of fingers. [Guitarist Tony Iommi lost the tips of his fingers in an accident at a sheet metal factory]. We weren’t put together by a bloke smoking a cigar in London. I had to make it or end up dead.”
Meanwhile, Black Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nicholls passed away over the weekend and both Ozzy and Tony paid tribute to him.
Ozzy tweeted: “Geoff Nicholls was a great friend of mine for a long time. He will be greatly missed. I’m very saddened at the news.”
In an emotional Facebook post, Tony wrote: “I’m so saddened to hear the loss of one of my dearest and closest friends Geoff Nicholls. He’s been suffering for a while now with lung cancer and he lost his battle this morning.
“Geoff and I have always been very close and he has been a real true friend to me and supported me all the way for nearly 40 years. I will miss him dearly and he will live in my heart until we meet again. Rest In Peace my dear friend. Tony.”

Tony Iommi believes his illness caused Bill Ward to leave Black Sabbath

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Iommi thinks his cancer treatment unintentionally forced Bill Ward to leave Black Sabbath.
The 68-year-old guitarist thought he was going to die when he was diagnosed with the life-threatening illness and wanted to quickly finish recording the final album ’13’ but thinks it upset the drummer, also 68.
Recalling receiving the news while recording their 2013 LP, he said: “My illness has changed my life a lot and my attitude. When I was going through my treatment, I didn’t think I was going to last, I had stage three lymphoma.
“I wanted to get things going quick, and Bill wanted to take longer. Bill seemed to feel he was getting a bad deal. We never dealt with that, we left all that to management. We just wanted to play together and enjoy it. We were playing with Bill for a bit and then he never turned up. I thought, ‘what’s going on?”
The band are currently touring for the last time with ‘The End’ and Ward refused to take part, which Iommi regrets.
Speaking during an interview with MOJO magazine, he said: “‘It would have been nicer to have Bill with us but unfortunately it never happened.”
But Ozzy is determined the bandmates will speak again.
He told the publication: “At some point I wanna call him. I still love him, he’s still my brother, but yuo have arguments. To be honest with you, I don’t know what the f**k happened because I don’t do the business side of it. I’m sorry Bill couldn’t work something out, I really am. (But) I’m really glad we did this tour.”

Bebe Rexha wants Kanye West collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha wants to work with Kanye West.
The 27-year-old singer/ songwriter – who has written songs for stars including Rihanna and Eminem – would love to collaborate with the controversial rapper because she admires him for taking risks.
She told YOU magazine: “I’d love to work with Kanye West. He’s gone through a lot of stuff in the public eye, but his music is genius. He always takes risks.”
Kanye axed his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour last year after being admitted to hospital with suspected “temporary psychosis” but he is now hard at work on new music in a temporary studio he built at his Bel-Air mansion.
And the decision to launch himself back into his work might not come as a surprise to his famous family, as he wanted to work on his music and clothing line whilst he was still recovering in hospital.
A source said: “Kanye keeps wanting to work. At the hospital, he requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in his bed. And he has kept asking to see sketches of his fashion lines.
“He continues to want to work and Kim Kardashian West has to keep telling him to rest.”

George Ezra wrote new album in cabin

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra stayed in a cabin without electricity to work on his new album.
The ‘Budapest’ hitmaker famously went inter-railing around Europe to seek inspiration for his debut LP ‘Wanted On Voyage’ and has been on a variety of other adventures in order to shape his next LP, even though his original ideas were quashed.
He said: “I spent last January in a cottage in Cornwall, writing.
“My first plan had been to travel alone on industrial shipping between London and New York but I was talked out of it – ‘The Atlantic, in January’ – so I went to Cornwall instead.
“Then I did a month in Barcelona. I did Airbnb and deliberately stayed with the owner, who I didn’t know.
“It was a risk, but she showed me the city.
“Then I did 10 days in a cabin in Norfolk without any electricity.
“Everyone went, ‘No, think about what runs on electricity’, but I booked it.
“The shower was outside. You had to wake up at 6am to get the fire going but there was something amazing about showering in a field.”
And George believes his experiences cut off from friends and family helped to focus his mind more.
He explained: “I think something happens to your mind when you’re away for a prolonged amount of time by yourself.
“You start to see things a little differently. Everything is more intense.”
As a result of his travels, “turning off” became a big talking point in the 23-year-old star’s new songs.
He told Q magazine: “One of the main topics on the record is how to get away from everything.
2I know everyone has said it, but 2016 was a really weird year, so I’ve written songs about turning off.
“I know as part of my job I have to go on to Twitter, it’s a free way of connecting but… I know full well if it wasn’t part of my job I wouldn’t do it. It’s suffocating.”

Serge Pizzorno boasts new Kasabian album is best ever

OHMYGOSSIP — Kasabian have “grafted over” their new album.
The ‘Fire’ hitmakers revealed last May they had almost completed work on the follow-up to 2014’s ’48:13′ but after the record never materialised, guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno has admitted he has made a lot of changes following a relaxing summer break that left him feeling rejuvenated.
He said: “In May the record was done but I’d never had any time off, so I thought, ‘You know what? I’m going to have the summer off for the first time in my life.’
“It was incredible. I got married, went on holiday for ages and just lived a bit. When I came back in September, I decided to graffiti over everything.
“I’d done everything on an acoustic for the first time and had these beautiful crafted tunes but started graffiting over the lot, just taking it to another level.
“I wrote another tune which is incredible and then two weeks ago I wrote one of the best tunes I’ve ever written.”
Even though the group record in a studio at the back of Serge’s house, he insisted on keeping to “office hours” for once, and found the sessions much more productive.
He told Q! magazine: “I changed the way I worked this time because I usually keep horrendous hours. I tried giving myself office hours.
“It’s amazing what you get done when you’ve got to be finished – ‘It’s got to be done because it’s f***ing home time, mate.’
“Usually at half four, you’d have a spliff and watch films for seven hours and then you’d put some guitar on a track at three in the morning, but this time I was like, ‘S**t, it’s half four I’ve got an hour and a half left. That bass needs to go on.’ ”

Conor Maynard wants to pen hit for Cruz Beckham

OHMYGOSSIP — Conor Maynard wants to write a song for Cruz Beckham.
The 24-year-old singer was very impressed when the 11 year old – the youngest son of Victoria and David Beckham – released his first single, the charity song ‘If Every Day Was Christmas’, last month and would love to help the youngster out with his career, especially as he already knows his older brothers, Brooklyn, 17, and Romeo, 14.
He said: “I’d love to write a song for him. I’ve met Romeo and Brooklyn, but not Cruz.
“He might have been there when I met Romeo but he’d have been quite young. I met Romeo at a gig and he asked for a pic.”
Conor recently teamed up with Craig David on ‘Talking About’ and had an “insane” time recording with the singer.
He recalled: “We went to Miami to shoot the video and we were riding around in his LAmborghini.
“He’d recorded his first album in his garage and I aksed whether he knew it was going to sell so well. He said he just had this feeling.”
But when he recorded his new single, ‘Are You Sure?’, Conor didn’t even get to meet one of his collaborators.
He told OK! Magazine: “It’s with Kriss Kross Amsterdam and Ty Dolla Sign. I went to Amsterdam to record it.
“I’m a massing fan of Ty Dolla Sign – I have his album on my phone – but I haven’t met him yet though. Hopefully we’ll perform it together.”

Celine Dion and more for CBS Bee Gees tribute concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion, John Legend and Nick Jonas are among musicians who will perform in honour of the Bee Gees for a CBS show.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker and a whole host of stars including Tori Kelly, Demi Lovato, Keith Urban and Little Big Town will perform a live version of the tribute show ‘Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees’ to mark the 40th anniversary of the film and the smash hit soundtrack by the legendary British group.
The show is to be filmed live on February 14 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The sole surviving member of the group, Barry Gibb – whose band mates and siblings Andy died in 1988 aged 30, while twin siblings Maurice and Robin passed away in 2003 and 2012 respectively – is to perform on the night and is expected to do his own rendition of tunes from ‘Saturday Night Fever’.
Neil Portnow, the CEO of The Recording Academy, said: “The Bee Gees–Barry, Robin, and Maurice–were international musical icons who helped make Saturday Night Fever an emblem of 1970s pop culture.
“With expert harmonies, undeniable groove, and a personal charisma matching their on-stage persona, the iconic band of brothers defined not just a genre, but a generation. I’m looking forward to celebrating one of the most famous soundtracks ever produced and reliving Saturday Night Fever, once again.”
Other performs are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Barry – co-founded the group – recently admitted he thought his career was over and he’d “fade away” once the last of his siblings passed away.
He said: “After Rob died I just sat moping around thinking that was the end of it and I would just fade away. I thought I was quite happy about fading away, but then the President of Columbia Records, Rob Stringer, came to see me and signed me and said, ‘We’re gonna move your ass!’ And I thought, ‘Oh well, that’s OK.’ So I’m back.”

Jarvis Cocker to release new album with Chilly Gonzales

OHMYGOSSIP — Jarvis Cocker has announced he’s releasing a new album with Chilly Gonzales.
The Pulp frontman made the revelation when he teased fans with a video trailer for the LP on Friday (27.01.17) which showed him entering a room numbered 29.
Entitled ‘Room 29’, the album is centred on a “song-cycle concerning the goings-on in Room 29 of the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood” and will be released on March 17 on Deutsche Grammophon.
Speaking about the new material, Cocker said: “For the duration of one evening the entire audience will be occupants of ‘Room 29’. You will be greeted by our concierge and you will be given a key. Sit down, get comfortable – it will be our pleasure to serve up a night of entertainment like no other: ‘Room 29’ may be a real location in Hollywood, California – but it is also a place within each one of us. Through this collection of songs we hope to open the door to that room for all those of you who wish to explore it. How’s that for Room Service?”
It’s not the first time the pair have worked together – their three-year collaboration followed their previous project working together on a cover of Stephen Sondheim’s ‘I’m Still Here’ for a short film called Six By Sondheim by Todd Haynes in 2012.
For this new project the duo teamed up with long-term Gonzales collaborator Renaud Letang to record the tracks at Ferber Studios in Paris, which feature simply piano and vocals, with the Kaiser Quartett adding strings to several tracks.
Cocker continued: “Featuring contributions from film historian David Thomson and the stories of famous former occupants of the room such as Jean Harlow and Howard Hughes, the show will also attempt to unpick the way a heady concoction dreamt up in the immediate vicinity of the hotel went on to intoxicate the entire population of planet Earth. Or, (to quote the sub-title of David Thomson’s book The Big Screen): it is also the story of the movies and what they did to us.”
Other musicians also featured on the record include the Macedonian symphonic orchestra, Macedonia flautist Nathalie Hauptman, French horn player Hasko Kroeger and soprano singer Maud Techa.
To promote the new album, Cocker and Gonzalez will return to the venue where they premiered the album back in January 2016 – Hamburg’s Kampnagel – to play the finished album over three nights on from March 17 to March 19.
They will also play London’s Barbican Theatre from March 23-25 and the Berlin Volksbühne on March 28-30, in Paris and at festivals over the summer.
