Megadeth working on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Megadeth are working on music for a new album.
The thrash metal rockers – comprised of Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Kiko Loureiro, and Dirk Verbeuren – are currently still touring in support of their 2016 venture ‘Dystopia’, but they’re wasting no time in coming up with new material as they’re already working on tracks that could make it into what would be their 16th studio album.
Speaking to Loudwire.com, frontman Dave said: “What we’re looking at, we’re trying to start the songwriting process this year while we’re out on the road, which will be good for us to start putting pen to paper and writing stuff.
“Kiko and I have actually been talking a lot about it the last couple weeks, sending files back and forth and so on and so forth, which is exciting for me because that’s what makes me tick is writing music.
“When I see new files coming back and forth through my email it’s like, ‘Yes.’ It’s like Christmas.”
And the ‘Symphony of Destruction’ hitmaker also confirmed that touring of their current album will “end this year”, giving them plenty of time to start working on their new material.
Any new music that the band decide to work on is likely to stick to the same sound they have become known for, however, as Dave says he likes the “real chunky metal sound” and can’t see himself deviating from that any time soon.
He added to the publication: “I think every time I pick my guitar up I think about what were those first riffs that I liked to play, the stuff that energises me. I think any guitar player worth his salt is going to have his favourite licks that he likes to play. I like that real chunky metal sound.”

Max Martin: I thought Pharrell Williams had 'ruined' my career

OHMYGOSSIP — Max Martin thought Pharrell Williams had “ruined” his career.
The 46-year-old record producer was known for helping create success for acts such as Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, and has admitted that for a while he thought the “super cool beats” created by fellow producer and singer Pharrell had robbed him of his success.
Now, the songwriter admits it was his own fault for being “stuck in one place”, and he used the experience to help push his career in a new direction.
He said: “I’ve learned that things change. The whole boy band thing almost turned into a stock market crash …Then, there was a period when we thought that Pharrell and the others came and ruined it all for us with their super cool beats.
“My first thought was: people are idiots for not understanding how great our stuff really is. Then, in the end, I realised: the world has moved on, we’re the ones who’re stuck in one place. So I started listening to other kinds of music. I spent a lot of time in New York and worked with artists who never really got anywhere. Then things took a new turn with ‘Since U Been Gone’ [by Kelly Clarkson].”
And the ‘Beautiful Day’ hitmaker also praised acts like Katy Perry for creating songs that become “bigger than just a song”, as he believes they can have a positive influence on people’s lives.
He added to Swedish magazine Di Weekend, Max said: “When pop culture can influence things in any way, when a song becomes something bigger than just a song, that’s the greatest thing to me.
“I saw the video where the whole staff of a children’s hospital sang ‘Roar’, and it was a reminder for me. I have a tendency to belittle what I do. I think it’s a consequence of trying to keep the ego in check. I go, ‘What the f**k are we doing all day when others are working for equality, Syria, battling cancer.’ But then something like this happens; a song finds its way outside the studio and comes to really mean something to people.
“It’s not every time that I’m proud of a tune, but I am when it comes to a song like ‘Roar’.”

TLC's fan-funded album to be released this summer

OHMYGOSSIP — TLC’s fan-funded album is set to be released this summer.
The girl group – consisting of Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas’ – created a page on Kickstarter in January 2015 to help raise the necessary funds to create their fifth and final studio venture, and the group’s manager Bill Diggins has now confirmed that over two years later, the ‘Waterfalls’ hitmakers will be releasing the new material this summer.
In a lengthy post written on the band’s Kickstarter page on Monday (27.02.16), Bill wrote: “On behalf of TLC and myself I want to express our most sincere thanks for your patience on waiting for the album. I am thrilled to let you know that the album is tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of June and you will receive your advance album prior to that. We are working out the official date in the next couple of weeks and once it is final we will notify you.
“This album could not have happened without your support and your confidence in TLC has inspired us greatly to make the best album possible. We would have loved to have delivered this album sooner to you but we are confident that you will agree that it was worth the wait when you hear it. The pursuit of excellence is never an easy task and always takes longer than expected.”
Bill then went on to inform fans why the ‘No Scrubs’ singers had taken “longer than expected” to release their new record.
He continued: “Let me explain why this album has taken longer than expected. When we decided to do the album it was based on a number of emotional decisions and one of the biggest was how you inspired Tboz and Chilli by your emails and texts asking them to do another album. At the time we had no music, no producers, no writers, and a few ideas. We also were in the middle of rehearsal’s for TLC’s first arena tour since The FanMail Tour and therefore on the road for most of the year. It was very important to establish TLC’s touring credibility and as most of you saw TLC live I am sure you agreed that we accomplished that goal. It took a lot more time to coordinate schedules with writers, TLC’s executive producer Ron Fair and recording sessions than anticipated. I could go on in more detail to explain how TLC’s touring, schedule, writing schedule and producing schedule was delayed but the simple fact is that Tboz & Chilli were inspired to make a record that they could be proud of and they would not settle for less and sometimes you just cannot rush art. They demanded of themselves a record that would stand up to the great body of work created in the past and that you would be proud of; because your belief and support is the greatest form of love and we want you to be proud.”
The upcoming album will be the group’s first studio album since the death of founding member Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 2002.

U2 reportedly accused of stealing elements of a song for their single The Fly

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 have reportedly been accused of stealing elements of a song for their single ‘The Fly’.
The Irish rock band – comprised of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. – released the single, which went to Number one in the UK chart, in 1991 as the lead single from their album ‘Achtung Baby’, and it has now been reported that British singer-songwriter Paul Rose has filed a lawsuit against the band from using elements of his track ‘Nae Slappin’.
According to Billboard magazine, Paul filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Monday (27.02.17).
Paul – who believes U2 heard his track when they signed to Island Records in 1989, the same year he provided the label with a demo tape of the track in question – is reportedly seeking a whopping $5 million in damages and lawyer’s fees for the case, as well as a song-writing credit on the record.
Meanwhile, U2 – who are set to embark on a celebratory tour of their 1987 album ‘The Joshua Tree’ as it turns 30 this summer – are currently working on their new album ‘Songs of Experience’, which they hope will be released by the end of the year.
Bassist Adam Clayton said recently: “We all very much feel like it needs to be the end of this year. It’s not on any schedule anywhere, anything like that. We’re going to get back to that later this year and polish it off and finish it off a bit more. But we think we’re there with it.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Beautiful Day’ hitmakers announced last month they were having trouble picking the tracks that will make the final cut, as they have too much material to work with.
Adam said:” We’ve an abundance of great ideas and it’s really about identifying what to finish and how to finish it.”
Whilst The Edge added: “That’s the gift and the curse of this record.
“The ordeal is getting all four members to agree on the same dozen songs.”

Naughty Boy's festival catering venture

OHMYGOSSIP — Naughty Boy is planning on bringing his travelling catering service ‘Naughty’s Kitchen’ to festivals this summer.
The 32-year-old producer has revealed he is to venture out into the food business and is hoping to serve up homemade treats including British dish Shepherd’s Pie, which has already got the approval from R&B legend Mary J Blige, 46.
He’d also like to have his TV cooking show to share his recipes.
He told The Sun newspaper: “You might see me popping up in the festival’s this year with ‘Naughty’s Kitchen’ just randomly … I’m ready to do something cooking related, but TV, that’d be fun.”
“If only I had filmed the time I made Mary J Blige a shepherd’s pie and her reaction, she loved it.”
Naughty Boy – a self-professed foodie – previously shared how he used to get his mother to send her homemade meals to his studio every day via a taxi.
The ‘Should’ve Been Me’ hitmaker – whose real name is Shahid Khan – got so fed up of living off microwave meals that he would get his mum to cook up a fresh dinner for him and send it over in a hired car.
Speaking in 2015, he explained: “I come from a Pakistani Muslim family in Watford – my mum would cook a different meal every day from scratch. I loved it. In the studio I didn’t have that – I had microwave meals – I got a bit disheartened.”
But after he racked up a taxi bill of £3000, the producer decided to teach himself how to cook and now creates food that, he thinks, tastes like a “party in your mouth.”
He said: “It’s got to have chillies in it. I want people to know about my cooking.
“You don’t need to have all the gadgets – I use a halogen oven and grill and I have a tiny fridge and sink.”
And one person who has already approved his yummy food is his mum, who was blown away with his tasty rice.
He added: “I made her lamb pilau rice the other day and she said it was 10 out of 10 – this is one of my proudest moments. Home-cooked food, of any cuisine, can’t be replaced by restaurants. There’s some kind of spirit that goes into food cooked at home.”

Bradley Walsh to record second album

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh has inked a new deal with Sony Music CMG to release a second album after selling more LPs than Zayn Malik.
The 56-year-old TV presenter’s debut LP ‘Chasing Dreams’ beat the former One Direction star’s record sales for his first solo album ‘Mind of Mine’ last year, and he has now reportedly signed a contract, which could see him release two more records and hit the the road for a UK tour.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Bradley’s album surpassed all expectations and he’s now a key focus for the label in 2017.
“Sony have signed him up for another album and don’t want to waste any time getting it out, as well as putting him on stages around the UK.
“He has proven there is an enormous market for his swing covers and they intend to capitalise on it.
“Discussions have even taken place about a third album at some point too.
“They know what works and he is already picking out songs for the second record and arranging studio time.”
It comes after the ‘Chase’ host said he’d happily give Zayn, 24, a few pointers if he asked.
He joked: “I haven’t seen Zayn yet but I don’t want him to be too upset, you know, it’s tough for these young artists.
“You know these young artists come along and they see an old stage entertainer whose played Watford Trades and Labour Club many times, it’s very difficult for the youngsters to have any grounding and breeding in the industry. So yeah, if he wants any tips on how to sing a tune…”
Bradley also teased that he is plotting a collaboration with grime star Stormzy – whose real name is Michael Omari – after they bonded at the BRIT Awards last week.
He laughed: “My mate Stormzy, that. We hang together. Do a bit of grime. What else do we do, grunge? No, just grime.
“Definitely grime. Bruno Mars, he’s here, he’s my mate.
“We have something in common. He’s from Hawaii. I like Hawaiian pizza. That’s quite cool. Other than that, I don’t know why I’m here.
“Me and Stormzy we are going to do an album. We’re gonna do an album of Nelson Riddle arrangements in grime form. It’s gonna be called ‘Griddle’. We’re looking forward to it, we’re gonna collaborate. ”

Camila Cabello reveals her unusual birthday wish

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello wants bigger boobs for her 20th birthday.
The former Fifth Harmony singer is poised to celebrate the landmark occasion on Friday (03.03.17) and Camila has taken to her Twitter account to reveal her rather unusual birthday wish.
The brunette beauty said: “for my 20th birthday I just want my boobs to be a LITTLE bigger. Just a little (sic)”
Since leaving Fifth Harmony in December, Camila has turned her attention to her solo career.
However, Camila has insisted she has “only got love” for her former Fifth Harmony bandmates, even though she has not spoken to Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane Hansen and Normani Hamilton since she dramatically quit the group last year.
Asked if she is still in touch with the other girls, Camila recently said: “No. I don’t want to get into the details of that, because it was really intense and it’s hard for me to talk about. It makes me sad.
“I hoped that it would be a peaceful turning of the page and we would root for each other. But I only got love for them.”
And while the teenage pop star admitted to taking a big risk in leaving the chart-topping group, she felt it was time to move on with her career.
Camila said: “I was always super open [that] I couldn’t just sing other people’s words and be totally happy with that. You have to follow and honour that inner voice. I always encouraged the girls to do the same.
“The easiest route would be to shut my mouth, sing the songs, wear the clothes and keep going. We were at the peak of our career. It’s not the safe option.”

Nicki Minaj clothing line dropped by Kmart

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj’s clothing line has been discontinued by Kmart.
The 34-year-old rapper teamed up with the retailer three years ago to create an exclusive custom apparel line, and the store has now said that despite enjoying a “positive relationship” with the ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker, they have decided to pull the plug on the project.
A representative for Kmart told Billboard: “Kmart is thrilled that we were the first retail partner to create a custom apparel line for Nicki Minaj.
“From the development of the line, to showcasing it in stores, to designing exclusive capsule collections, we have enjoyed a positive relationship with Nicki Minaj and her team over the last three years.
“As our partnership came to a close in 2016, we would like to thank Nicki Minaj for being a great partner and wish her continued success in her future endeavours.”
The news comes after a Twitter account with the handle @KmartFashions originally posted a tweet on Saturday (25.02.17) which seemingly confirmed the discontinuation.
They wrote: “Due to a dramatic decrease in sales, Nicki Minaj’s clothing line will soon be discontinued.”
However, the official Kmart Twitter account responded to let fans know the account was not affiliated with their brand and said they were “proud” of the partnership they had shared with the ‘Super Bass’ singer.
They posted on the social media site: “@kmartfashions is not affiliated w/ @kmart. We’re proud of the partnership w/ Nicki Minaj & great products brought to members & her fans (sic)”
At the time of writing, all the current items in Nicki’s clothing line are on sale on the Kmart website, with some merchandise offering up to 40 percent off the recommended retail price.

Has Lorde revealed her album release date?

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorde is believed to be releasing her new album in March following the release of a cryptic television advert.
The 20-year-old singer/songwriter appeared in a TV commercial which aired in her native New Zealand which showed her sitting in the back of a car eating and sipping on a soft drink.
The ad wrapped with the messages “2.3.17 NYC” and “3.3.17 NZ” which has led to fans speculating online that these will be the dates that Lorde’s second LP will drop, with them being different due to the time difference Down Under.
Since the advert was broadcast, Lorde’s Twitter bio has been changed to read “I hope the exit is joyful, and i hope never to return. (sic)”
Lorde – whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor – previously revealed last November that she was busy working on her new LP, the follow-up to her acclaimed 2013 debut ‘Pure Heroine’.
The ‘Royals’ hitmaker also teased that her new collection of tracks will reflect where her life is now, compared to her first album which dealt with her “teenage glory”.
She said: “I’m not a kid any more … and writing ‘Pure Heroine’ was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next.”

Liam Payne producing own album

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne is producing his own album.
The One Direction singer – who is expecting a baby with girlfriend Cheryl – is currently working on his debut solo venture, and has reportedly enlisted the help of DJs and producers to teach him how to produce his own music, rather than hiring someone else to do it for him.
Producer Digital Farm Animals – real name Nicholas Gale – confirmed Liam’s decision to produce his own music, as he said: “I’ve been doing a lot with Liam.
“I’ve not heard much of the other stuff that he’s been doing but I can say he is really talented.
“He writes very well, he’s also started producing as well.
“He just comes up with these great ideas so it made sense for him to have more control, I guess.
“I kind of helped him, the stuff that we have been doing I helped produce it, showed him some things and we wrote it. I mean he has so many talents that people don’t know.”
And Nicholas also revealed that Liam, 23, won’t be recreating the pop sound he was known for in the boy band – which was also comprised of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Harry Styles – as he’s more interested in focusing on “R&B stuff”.
He added to the Daily Star newspaper: “I have no idea when it will come out, but we have been working on a few bits together. He is doing a lot of R&B stuff but he’s also dipping into dance.
“The things we are doing are definitely down the dance lane.”
Meanwhile British pop star Conor Maynard revealed last month that it won’t “be long” before the ‘History’ hitmaker is ready to debut his music to the world.
Conor said: “We have had sessions where we wrote stuff that can go to Liam Payne, for his album, because every now and then we do a session that won’t be for me.
“It will be fore someone else and Liam is someone we have wanted to write for.
“I haven’t actually spoken to him in a while, I don’t know how close he is to finishing his stuff but I don’t think it will be long now.”

The ‘Cocoa Butter Kisses’ hitmaker is among the most in-demand names in hip-hop and admitted he has already discussed collaborating with the outspoken star.
He said: “We were working a while ago – I came to his spot probably the day before me and the band [The Social Experiment] released ‘Surf’ in 2015 – and we had a long sit-down and talk and he did some narration for ‘Surf’ that we decided not to use but was so dope.
“And after that, the next time we met up I was starting my ‘Coloring Book’ project and we talked about collabing, and I brought up ‘Good Ass Job’ to him. And, you know, we talked about it, and during ‘Coloring Book’ we worked on a few songs that didn’t make it on the project. And there’s one that I will say is very crucial. It’s a very dark cut.”

Stormzy's Ed Sheeran BRITs duet was 'scariest thing' he's ever done

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy’s performance of ‘Shape of You’ with Ed Sheeran at the 2017 BRIT Awards was the “scariest thing” he’s ever done.
The 23-year-old grime star has opened up about how terrifying it was to go up on stage at London’s The O2 arena with the 26-year-old flame-haired hunk to perform the remix version of his number one song in front of his peers, and he was so in awe by it all that he’s forgotten what happened on the night.
He admitted: “It was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done in my life.. “I don’t ever remember the performance … I just remember walking onto the stage and doing it.
“When I walk on, you can tell that there’s a split second where I notice ‘Oh the crowd likes this’ so I get excited. At first I was scared, but we smashed it out.”
The ‘Big Up Your Boots’ hitmaker says they had to keep the duet a secret for months, but he feels the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker’s singer/songwriter sound mixed with his old school grime style is the perfect match and he is extremely “proud” of their collaboration.
Appearing on Channel 4’s ‘Sunday Brunch’ on Sunday (26.02.17), he said: “I think everyone is quite proud and happy about it.
“I feel like merging those two worlds – me and Ed make totally different styles of music, but coming together for something like that; it’s a good thing.”
Stormzy unveiled his LP ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ on Friday (02.24.17) but admitted he was a little worried when his mother finally gets a chance to listen it.
He previously said “My mum ain’t heard it, she will listen when it comes out. I think there’s going to be a few tunes where my mum is thinking, ‘I don’t care who Stormzy is that is not a good thing, why you saying that son?’ But I think there will be some things she can be proud of, it’s meaningful and from the soul.”
It comes after Stormzy – whose real name is Michael Omari – played two surprise gigs in London on Friday (24.02.17) afternoon to mark the new release.
He performed songs including ‘Shut Up’ and ‘Big For Your Boots’ at Castlehaven Park in Camden, north London before heading over to Babmaes Street in Piccadilly, east London, for another performance.

Louis Tomlinson's solo pressure

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson felt enormous pressure when releasing his first solo single.
The One Direction singer collaborated with DJ Steve Aoki on the single ‘Just Hold On’, the first song he has released without his bandmates, and admitted that he was worried about how fans would react.
Speaking on ‘Most Requested Live with Romeo’, he said: “There’s pressure for any artist when they release new music and the idea is the song is for the fans to a certain degree and it’s for them to enjoy it.
“I think there’s also a sense of relief because you’re going through a process of choosing between different songs and once you’ve picked it, it feels good.
“But definitely you feel the pressure and that’s why the support that we’ve had throughout this single has just been absolutely incredible. I mean we’ve been blown away.”
Louis also admitted he has been incredibly nervous before his performances of ‘Just Hold On’.,
He said: “Of course I get nervous. Yeah absolutely. In so many ways it feels like I’m kind of going through the process and starting again. I’ve been really nervous about these performances.”
Louis also praised his 1D bandmates – Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Harry Styles – for supporting him at ‘The X Factor’, the first time he performed ‘Just Hold On’.
He said: “When I was on ‘The X Factor’, it was really nice all the boys came to support me and I think that’s what it’s all about. People love to write what they want to write but there’s no bitterness.”

Lily Allen's music inspired by motherhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen’s new music is about motherhood.
The 31-year-old singer has written a new album about her relationship with her two daughters, Ethel, five and four-year-old Marnie.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “These songs approach Lily’s life as a mother from different angles and show she isn’t afraid of tackling controversial issues about her personal life.
“In one track she sings heartbreaking lyrics that she imagines her daughter feels every time she has to go to work. It is a lovely, tender song.
“Another song parodies perceptions of her as this wild caner.
“It’s not definite that the tracks will end up on the final album but they are ones she really likes.
“She has been teasing some of them on Snapchat and fans have liked how emotive and honest they are.”
It was previously revealed Lily has teamed up with Mark Ronson – her long-time collaborator – for her upcoming record and the producer said she has channeled the heartbreak caused by her separation from her husband Sam Cooper into her lyrics.
Speaking last year, he said: “We’ve been writing together again on the new record. I feel like they are some of the best songs she’s written. Her voice sounds incredible. The stuff I’m working on is some of her most honest and heartbreaking music ever. She writes so honestly you can feel it.”
Lily hasn’t released an album since 2014’s ‘Sheezus’ and Mark believes the music world needs her to return.
He said: “She’s like a needed performer. There’s nobody really doing s**t like that, really honest.”
