Bros forced to scrap half of comeback tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Bros have been forced to scrap half the dates of their comeback tour.
The legendary pop duo – comprised of Matt and Luke Goss – excited fans last year when they revealed they would play a series of gigs across the UK in the summer following 24 years away from the music scene, but they have now axed their concerts in Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham and Birmingham for “logistical reasons”.
The pair remained tight-lipped on the reason for their cancellation in an official statement, but offered their “sincere apologies” to their disappointed fans.
The statement said: “Due to logistical circumstances beyond their control, it is with sincere regret that Bros have been forced to cancel four dates on their forthcoming UK tour. Matt and Luke Goss apologise to their fans for any disappointment.
“Concerts set for Nottingham August 23, Birmingham August 25, Newcastle August 26, and Glasgow August 27, will now not take place.
“All ticket holders for the cancelled shows will receive an automatic refund.”
Just three gigs, at London’s The O2 on August 19 and 20, and Manchester Arena on August 22, will now form the tour.
Bros – which also originally included Craig Logan – were together from 1987 to 1992 and played 19 shows at Wembley back in their heyday, and were the youngest band to ever headline Wembley Stadium.
As well as ‘When Will I Be Famous?’, the group had hits with the likes of ‘I Owe You Nothing’ and released three studio albums, ‘Push’, ‘The Time’ and ‘Changing Faces’.
They have since dropped three greatest hits records, with their final one, ‘I Owe You Nothing – The Best of Bros’, coming in February 2011.
Bros split in 1992 when their singles began to plunge in the charts and Luke called time on the group, which Matt has since admitted was “heart-breaking”.
He previously said: “We felt we needed a break from each other. Luke to this day is still one of my best friends.”
Matt, 48, has gone on to reinvent himself as a singer in Las Vegas, performing a residency at the city’s Caesar’s Palace.
Luke, 48, has forged a movie career which has seen him star in ‘Blade 2’, ‘Hellboy 2’ and TV mini-series ‘Frankenstein’.
Their former band member Craig departed the group in 1989 and will not be returning for the reunion.

Liam Gallagher announces name of debut solo LP

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher’s debut solo LP will be called ‘As You Were’.
The former Oasis frontman took to his Twitter account on Sunday (05.03.17) that his “fab new record” will be named after his customary sign off text on the social media site.
As well as spilling the record’s title, Liam couldn’t resist taking a jibe at his older brother and ex-bandmate Noel Gallagher, inferring the guitarist is his only “hater”.
He tweeted: “To all you you you haters out there and I know there’s only the 1 the name of my fab new record is AS YOU WERE LG x (six)”
Liam has uses the phrase “as you were” to sign off many of his Twitter posts as well as “LG x” to signify that the tweets are being posted by him and not by his management or anybody else working for him.
Liam’s album title announcement comes after the ‘Songbird’ hitmaker warned his brother Noel, 49, that he is going to shake things up with his new music.
Referencing fans of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, he tweeted: “Listening forward to my new tunes all you NGHFB fans are gonna have nowhere to run or die Ha ha … Look out be brave LGx … As you were you wanna be LG X (sic)”
And the 44-year-old singer also shared a series of cryptic posts, which were thought to have been lyrics from his new tracks.
One tweet read: “My heart is together my head is exploding why don’t you come back to me Ddjknhfhjlpyteshkkysahjgdsuujfjjkjuh (sic)”
And another post on the micro-blogging site read: “When they gave you roses and believed your wild excuses you we’re sealing the deal LG x (sic)”
Liam and Noel have been at loggerheads since 2009 when the guitarist quit the band after a backstage bust-up with his younger sibling.
And Liam has no plan to “chill out” with the Twitter jibes.
He said recently: “Lots of people say I need to chill out about Noel. Not until they stop Twitter. He will always get it from me. I’ve heard [my tweets] really annoy him. Someone told me the other week that the only thing that does his nut in are my tweets. Good.
“They will carry on and they will get bigger and better. He slagged me off when we were in the same band! He’d do his interview, I’d come in to do mine and they’d go, ‘He doesn’t like you, does he?’ I’d be saying how great he was. He still has pops. He needs to know that I ain’t going away.”

Bruno Mars promises new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Mars promised new music as he collected the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday evening (05.03.17).
The ‘Treasure’ hitmaker says he “genuinely feels like he is just getting started” in the industry and urged his fans to “buckle up” for the exciting ride ahead.
Accepting the Innovator Award at the ceremony, he said: “We’ve come a long way. We used to play bars, 200-seater rooms, and now you’ve seen these guys in the videos, you’ve seen ’em at the Super Bowl. This is my family right here. These are the guys that make me wanna be better and be great. Fellas, I love y’all and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you guys.
“I want to thank the fans in the building at the fans at home. I love you guys. I do this all for you guys. You make me wanna be a better songwriter, a better performer and a better entertainer. Innovator is a very heavy word, and I’m so honoured [for this award]. It’s a little ironic for me, because I genuinely feel like I’m just getting started, so buckle up. I don’t know where we’re going yet, but we’re going, so keep up.”
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old singer previously insisted he is picky about who he collaborates with.
He said: “I just don’t want to feel gross. It’s as simple as that. I don’t want to feel gross, I don’t want to regret any decisions. Even if I turn down a sweet cheque because I don’t want to be on that billboard, hawking some s**t to the world – I just don’t need to do that. Because you get one shot at this.
“I’m not a model. I’m not an ice skater. I’m not a chef. I’m here to do music. And I want to be able to look back and say, ‘Yeah, I did it the way I wanted to do it.’ Whether it triumphs or fails, I can live with that.”

Ed Sheeran: Illegal file sharing 'made' me

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran says illegal fire sharing “made” him as an artist.
The ‘Shape Of You’ hitmaker credits the practice for getting his name on the map when he was starting out as British students were sharing his music amongst themselves.
He said: “It was file sharing. I know that’s a bad thing to say, because I’m part of a music industry that doesn’t like illegal file sharing. Yeah, but illegal fire sharing was what made me. It was students in England going to university, sharing my songs with each other.”
However, Ed doesn’t believe the more traditional file sharing exists at the moment because people prefer to rip songs off sites like YouTube.
He added: “I don’t think file sharing exists now … Yeah, I think people rip off YouTube. That’s a thing. But I feel like it’s so easy to stream.”
The 26-year-old singer recently returned to the music scene after having a year off, something he decided to do as he felt he was “in a spiral of work and partying that probably would’ve ended not well”.
Asked why he took a break, he shared: “Not losing touch, but I was definitely in a spiral of work and partying that probably would’ve ended not well.
“But also, I think, as much as I needed a break, I think the public needs a break from you. If you continually are just in everyone’s face the whole time, eventually they’re gonna be like, ‘Eehhh, yeah, you know what, I’m cool.'”
Ed made a point of avoiding being in his music videos at first because he didn’t like the way he looks on screen but says he has no choice now as people like it more when he has the starring role.
He told CBS News: “That was me at the beginning of my career. I wasn’t in any music videos at all … I just don’t like the way I look on film. Yeah, deep! … I just can’t hold it back now. My songs sell more if I’m in the video.”

Ed Sheeran's family are his musical inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran’s family inspired his new album ‘÷’.
The 26-year-old singer songwriter believes all of his previous albums have been centred on heartbreak, but now he is in a stable relationship with girlfriend Cherry Seaborn he knew he “had to find new things” to sing about, which led him to pen tracks about his parents, John and Imogen, and his older brother Matthew.
Speaking to ET Online about his muse, the flame-haired vocalist said: “All my other albums have been about heartbreak and I’m just not in that place.
“I had to find new things to write about, so I guess I dwelled on my family a bit.”
And the ‘A Team’ hitmaker – who has been dating Cherry for 18 months – is enjoying his romance because the couple never argue and barely ever spend any time away from each other.
Speaking previously about his relationship, he said: “I haven’t been in the bad books to be honest.
“She worked on Wall Street in America then she got her job transferred to London in the same office with the same job.
“We have spent every day together. Weirdly enough, when I went to Japan two weeks ago that was the first time I have been apart from her.”
Although things are going well between the couple and Sheeran believes they are on a “really good path”, he is not in a rush to get married any time soon.
He explained: “I am not getting married soon. People just keep asking me about it. I would like to get married eventually, but it’s not impending.
“I don’t think you get normality from the wrong marriage, you get normality from the right marriage, the right friends and the right environment — and I think I am on a really good path to all three.”

Louisa Johnson wants Eminem collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Johnson wants to collaborate with Eminem.
The 19-year-old singer – who won UK ‘X Factor’ in 2015 – admitted she is a huge fan of the controversial rapper and would love to work on some new music with him.
She told the Sunday Mirror: “I used to listen to him growing up – he’s an amazing writer, he has a lot of emotion so it would be cool to work with him. That’s the dream.”
At the moment, Louisa is working on her debut album and is getting plenty of advice from music mogul Simon Cowell.
She said: Simon wants everything to be perfect. He’s really keen to get it right. It’s great he wants to do that. And so do I. I’m always thinking about what I’m doing next.”

She said: “But at the moment, I only go out if I know I haven’t got anything on for a week. I just don’t want to risk it.

Anne-Marie axed gig after washing passport

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie had to cancel a gig when she accidentally washed her passport.
The ‘Rockabye’ singer took precautions to conceal her travel documents because she was afraid of being robbed, but forgot what she’d done and loaded her passport into the washing machine along with her sheets, meaning she had to axe a planned show while she awaited a replacement.
She said: “[My biggest regret is] putting my passport in my pillow case because I was afraid of robbers at a holiday park.
“I left it there and it got put through the wash and was destroyed.
“I had to wait ages for a new one and had to miss a gig in the Netherlands because I couldn’t leave the country.”
The 25-year-old star has vowed never to return to the holiday park as she was also involved in an embarrassing incident while she was there
She spilled to Grazia magazine: “I fell off a quad bike last month – it was quite scary. It was at the same holiday park. I’m never going back there.”
The petite singer admitted people are often very shocked to learn she is highly skilled in martial arts.
She said: “People never believe it when they find out I’m a karate world champion. They don’t see me as the type because I’m small and blonde.”
Anne-Marie has been cheated on multiple times in the past and has nothing good to say about her former boyfriends.
Asked if anyone owes her an apology, she said: “All of my ex-boyfriends. They’re a**eholes. Most of them cheated on me.”

Foo Fighters will record 'when time is right'

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters will make a new album “when the time is right”.
The ‘Walking After You’ hitmakers are expected to spend a lot of time in the recording studio working on the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Sonic Highways’ over the coming months, but guitarist Chris Shiflett insists they don’t have any definite plans in place.
He said: “I don’t know what our plans are, but we’ll make a new album when the time is right.
“There will be a new Foo Fighters [record] at some point.”
Last week, the group announced they will be headlining Glastonbury in June – two years after they pulled out of the iconic festival after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg – at a secret intimate gig in nearby Frome, Somerset, and they had a great time at the tiny show.
Chris told NME magazine: “It was great, the show was really fun.”
And while they were in the region, the ‘Best of You’ hitmakers got the chance to visit the nearby festival site, at Worthy Farm, and are now looking forward to their headlining slot more than ever.
Chris said: “You get an interesting sense of the size of Glastonbury because it’s completely empty. I can’t wait to see what it looks like full of people and we’re there to compare it.
“Can you believe that I’ve never been to Glastonbury – ever? It’s like the one festival that I’ve still never been to, so I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never had the Glastonbury experience.”
During the gig in Frome, Dave claimed the bad had requested space on the bill for an extra-long three-hour set and Chris confirmed they were up for the mammoth show.
He said: “Absolutely we could, you never know!”
Drummer Taylor Hawkins previously admitted they don’t know when they’ll record a new album until they hear from their singer.
He said: “We will make a new record at some point. We won’t really be ready until Dave’s ready to go. It’s on the books, so we’ll definitely be playing. We never really know, we just wait for a text from Dave saying ‘hey, let’s go down to the studio.”
Meanwhile, Radiohead are also officially confirmed to headline Glastonbury, while Ed Sheeran is expected to take the third slot.

More of Boyzone to join Boyzlife?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch are set to join Boyzlife.
The two Boyzone singers recently met up with former bandmate Keith Duffy and his current touring partner Brian McFadden – who quit Westlife in 2004 – at an Irish TV studio, where they discussed the possibility of joining up on the supergroup’s upcoming tour.
And it seems both Ronan and Shane are up for the prospect.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “They bumped into each other recently and raised the possibility of Ronan and Shane joining the super band.
“Everyone agreed they would be great together – they still all get on well and are excited to create lots of new memories.
“It’s just a possibility at the moment but it’s looking more and more likely Ronan and Shane could join the rest of the band for a few shows on tour.”
Brian and Keith – whose tours have seen them tell stories about their life on the road and perform a mix of their respective groups’ biggest hits – previously admitted they would love to see
more of their old bandmates take part in their supergroup.
Brian previously said: “We all had a chat, the lads. We said it would be amazing.
“Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic? Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together.
“We all get on so well so you never know; we would have so much fun on tour.”
It is unclear whether the remaining member of Boyzone, Mikey Graham, has been asked to join them on the road if Shane and Ronan do agree to take part.

Ed Sheeran: The best songs come from pain

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran says the “best songs” come from pain.
The ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker took a year long hiatus from the music industry to give himself a break and work on his new music and he has revealed what he believes the success to songwriting is.
He said: “I would say one thing – I think the best songs ever are made from pain but I’d say you can definitely still write close to that by being happy.”
And the 26-year-old singer’s new music “skewed” towards family and love as he didn’t feel he had “anything to complain about”.
Speaking on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Chris Evans, he added: “That was kind of why the album sort of leant towards the kind of family – my mom and my dad – because I didn’t really have anything bad happen in my life.
“I was in a really good place so I was like, ‘What can I write about? I’ve got nothing to complain about.’ So that’s sort of why it skewed that way.”
Meanwhile, Ed previously teased his track ‘Perfect’ is “definitely” better than ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
Speaking before the album was released on Friday (03.03.17), he said: “I felt that with the first album. I remember thinking I would never write a song as good as ‘A Team’. And then ‘Thinking Out Loud’ came, and I was like, ‘Oh, OK, well maybe it’s not impossible.’
“So going into this album, there was no worry at all because I knew I’d done it before. It’s not like Thinking Out Loud will be the peak of my career. It’s definitely happened on this album. There’s definitely one that’s better.”

Alice Cooper's US gig under threat by noise-hating woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper’s gig in Mankato in the US has come under threat by a woman who wants to get his show banned due to noise levels.
Barb Church, a local resident in the City of Minnesota, is attempting to hijack the 69-year-old shock rocker’s planned gig at the Vetter Stone Amphitheater on June 9, because she feels “virtually tortured almost every single weekend” by house-shaking noise caused by concerts there, and she is particularly keen to get the ‘Poison’ hitmaker’s show shut down because she doesn’t like the “foul language” and lyrics about suicide in his songs.
She told of how when rapper Nelly played there last autumn the noise level reached 110 decibels at her home causing her walls to shake.
The Southern Minnesota News reports that Church told a panel from the North Mankato City Council: “Now in 2017, the first act that I’ve seen that is being publicised is Alice Cooper and I’m to tell you here that I think Alice Cooper is going to be very similar to Hairball and Nelly,” said Church.
“Having now looked up the lyrics…I don’t think it’s wise for our community to have to listen to foul language. I don’t think we have to listen to things about suicide.”
However, in true Alice Cooper style, the outspoken star responded with a joke saying that he would kindly let his pet snake deliver a set of earplugs to Church.
Taking to Twitter to share the story, he quipped: “Across the river from my #Mankato gig is a woman who hates noise. I’ll have my snake swim over some earplugs (sic)”
The ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ singer brings his noise to the UK this November.
Alice’s UK tour dates are as follows:
11th – Leeds – First Direct Arena
12th – Glasgow – The SSE Hydro
14th – Birmingham – Barclaycard Arena
15th – Manchester – Manchester Arena
16th – London – The SSE Arena, Wembley

Brian May to release new album with Kerry Ellis

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May has teamed up with his collaborator of 13 years Kerry Ellis for their second studio LP ‘Golden Days’.
The record features five original compositions, two by May, including the title track, and three by May and Ellis, and it also includes new arrangements of classic songs including a tribute to the late blues virtuoso Gary Moore and Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott , ‘Parisienne Walkways’.
Speaking about the record, the Queen guitarist said: “This album is a true collaboration between Kerry and myself.
“Five years ago, ‘Anthems’ was the result of me producing an exciting new artist – Kerry Ellis. This new record has both our names on it, and breaks new ground. We produced ourselves together as a team. I feel confident it’s the best thing we’ve ever done and a worthy testament to 13 years of belief. It also happens to feature Britain’s most beautiful voice!”
Also featured are May’s remakes of ‘Born Free’, the May-Ellis ‘The Kissing Me Song’, a re-cast of Ruth Moody’s powerful ‘One Voice’, and a new version of ‘Amazing Grace’.
Alongside the classics are brand new self-penned high energy offerings such as, ‘It’s Gonna Be All Right’ (The Panic Attack Song) and ‘Roll With You’ and ‘Love In A Rainbow’.
Ellis, 37, says the record is a reflection of her musical journey with the 69-year-old rocker.
She said: “This new album has been a real journey of discovery and I feel so proud of how Brian and I have developed over the years; we have learnt how to work together and inspire each other to create special performances and music.
“The album is really a mixture of our experiences and has a story behind each song. Brian and I have had such fun developing it and can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The announcement of the new record – which follows 2013’s ‘Acoustic by Candlelight’ LP – is a real treat for fans of the duo as it comes after Brian was forced to postpone a series of show with Kerry in December after battling with a “persistent illness”.
‘Golden Day’s is slated for release on April 7 via Sony Music.

Ed Sheeran's career fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran was “terrified” his career “would be over in an instant” when he first found fame.
The ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker is “at a point” where he isn’t worried about his critics anymore as he’ll “still be able to play music” no matter what.
He said: “I know Noel Gallagher doesn’t like my music, but I get on with him as a person, so why does it f***ing matter? … I was self-conscious about it [critics] on my first album, because I’d never had any success, I’d never sold any records, never sold a ticket, and I was terrified that it would be over in an instant.
“The album got panned by the critics and I was like, ‘F**k, this is it.’ But now I’m at a point where, even if I get a one-star review for every album I release for the rest of my life, I’ll still be able to play music.”
And the 26-year-old singer is sure his latest album ‘÷’ will be a huge hit and is hopeful his music will inspire generations to come.
Asked how he’d feel if his album sold less than his 2014 effort ‘X’, he shared: “I’ll bet you anything now it won’t. I don’t think there’s any possibility it will. The next album, I promise you, will sell less, but this album will sell more. I don’t think I’ll have a year like this again.
“[I want it to be] something like Damien Rice’s O, that in my lifetime is one of the most important records for me. I’d love for some kid who in 20 years’ time is a huge artist to be like, ‘Wow, that album.'”
Ed is still in awe of all that has happened in his career but says there is “more to life than selling millions of records”.
Asked if he could walk away from it all one day, he told The Guardian newspaper: “Not from music, but I could walk away from being this massive, so long as I controlled it. I’m not continually going to have this ambition. I know I’m not always going to maintain it. I’ve played Wembley Stadium three nights in a row and if I end my career doing one night at Shepherd’s Bush, it’s fine, because I’ve achieved it.
“I’ve won the awards you’re meant to win, sold the records you’re meant to sell. I never did it for money, and I don’t really need any more money. At the end of the day, I make music to make music and as long as I can keep doing that for the rest of my life, it doesn’t really matter. I was talking to Taylor about this, actually: the moment we see it fading, it’s like, ‘Right, time to have kids!’ It’s fun now, in my 20s, but there’s more to life than selling millions of records.”

Iggy Azalea's new album will reflect her life now

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea’s 2017 album will reflect “where her head’s at” right now.
The ‘Fancy’ hitmaker apologised to fans for pushing back the release of her LP ‘Digital Distortion’ by a year but felt it was important to make some “creative changes” to it after the “personal changes” she had to deal with last year – namely her split from Nick Young.
She wrote on Twitter: “Hi guys … I have decided to include one of the songs from my upcoming album ‘Digital Distortion’ on the new Def Jam #DirectDeposit tape …
“Also I felt it was important to say; I know its been a long wait for my album – SORRY! … I hope my fans understand my life has been filled with so many personal changes … I felt it was important I made some creative changes too – I needed my album to reflect where my head’s at in 2017 …
“I really appreciate the patience & I’m so excited for all the new music, new visuals, album preorder dates etc. … I’ll be releasing throughout the month of March. Thanks for your support
