Zayn Malik promises to release new music 'soon'

OHMYGOSSIP — Zayn Malik’s new single ‘Still Got Time’ is to be released “soon”.
The former One Direction star – who has posted a picture of the single’s cover on social media – has promised his legions of fans that they won’t have to wait much longer to hear the record.
Zayn revealed the track is a duet with rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR and when he was asked by one Twitter user when it will drop, Zayn replied: “Soon and I mean it.”
Subsequently, another Zayn fan questioned whether he would stick to his own deadline and the 24-year-old star said: “Don’t be like that … I promise you (sic)”
Despite the doubts of his fans, Zayn has been working diligently since he left One Direction to establish himself as a solo artist.
The dark-haired hunk released his first solo album, ‘Mind of Mine’, in March last year and now appears to be on the cusp of releasing new music in the coming weeks.
The success of Zayn’s debut album also came amid his troubles with anxiety, which caused him to withdraw from a number of planned performances.
Meanwhile, Zayn – who is dating model Gigi Hadid – recently admitted he has no idea why he was known as the “mysterious one” when he was in One Direction, alongside Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
He said: “I have no idea why. It was obviously a marketing strategy to appeal to different areas of female personalities and wants and needs. ‘I might want a cute one’, ‘I might want a cheeky one’, ‘I might want a mysterious one’, that’s all it was.
“It’s cool, that’s life, I guess. I don’t really think of myself as mysterious, but maybe I am.”

James Blunt no longer chasing success

OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt had to “get over” trying to chase the success of his first album.
The 43-year-old singer’s debut album ‘Back to Bedlam’ achieved worldwide success when it was released in 2004, selling 11 million copies and topping the UK album chart whilst reaching the second spot in the US.
However, the ‘You’re Beautiful’ hitmaker has admitted his subsequent releases – 2007’s ‘All The Lost Souls’, 2010’s ‘Some Kind of Trouble’, and 2013’s ‘Moon Landing’ – haven’t been as popular, and he found it difficult learning to remove himself from the fear of “public reaction”.
He said: “My first album hit big. In America, my subsequent albums didn’t really hit big. And so you’re always thinking about, I suppose, the public reaction … They’re always in the room, slightly. So it’s been nice to just get over that. Yeah … I just had to get over it.”
And the ‘Goodbye My Lover’ musician has now managed to do just that, as he says his upcoming fifth studio venture ‘The Afterlove’ was written “with a certain kind of confidence” which didn’t have “an audience in mind”.
He said of his new album: “I just wanted to do something not with an audience in mind anymore. Just something for myself. It just allowed me to write songs with a certain kind of confidence, rather than a kind of apology.”
James says his newest record – which is set for release on Friday (24.03.17) – is “a whole new thing” and he’s “really enjoying” where he is with his music career.
He told Billboard.com’s Pop Shop Podcast: “I’ve had four albums in the past and it feels like there was kind of a different music career. This [new album] feels like a whole new thing. After my last tour, I went to Australia for a while and I came back and said, ‘You know what? I’m back in the music business in a way that I haven’t been before, in a way that I’m really enjoying it.'”

Lorde teases 'lethal dose' of new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorde is set to drop a “lethal dose” of new music for her fans soon.
The ‘Royals’ hitmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday (21.03.17) to reply to comments from her 4.6 million followers about the songs that feature on her forthcoming album ‘Melodrama’.
In reply to a fan with the user handle, @fireroark, who asked, “Please inject more meledrama DIRECTLY into my veins @lorde (sic)”, she wrote back: “mmmmmmm hm lethal dose coming soon …… (sic)”
The 20-year-old singer also teased that the next song, which follows lead single ‘Green Light’, is called ‘Liability’ and is her “favourite song” she has ever written and sounds like nothing she’s done before.
She added to the micro-blogging site: “Fine tuning the plan for the whole year – holy s*it you guys have no idea there’s so much cool stuff coming … All these beautiful insane moments AH you are going to die … and the music … this next song is like my favourite thing I’ve ever done it truly sounds like nothing I’ve heard in the best way (sic)”
The brunette beauty is set to release ‘Melodrama’ in June and, although she’s keeping the details under wraps for now, she recently teased that the songs are “tight.”
She said: “The record is called ‘Melodrama’. [On number of songs on the album] It’s tight like my last one, I like to keep them small.”
Lorde is also preparing for her upcoming performances and is certain they will be “sick.”
She said: “It’s gonna be a big one. It’s gonna be so sick. We’re working with the sickest people on the show and doing all these festivals and awesome bits of TV. And it’s gonna be… oh my God I can’t wait for you to see it. I’m so excited!”

Linkin Park's pop sound

OHMYGOSSIP —
Linkin Park’s new album has a poppier sound.
The ‘Numb’ hitmakers’ rapper and songwriter Mike Shinoda has revealed their forthcoming record ‘One More Light’ is a mixture of genres and while he refuses to label it “pop” or “rock” music, he says it will surprise their fans.
He said: “The mixing of genres has been part of our DNA since the beginning.
“I wouldn’t call it pop, just like I wouldn’t call it hip-hop, just like I wouldn’t call it rock.”
The lead single ‘Heavy’ has been co-written by songwriters Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels – known for their work on Britney Spears and Tinashe’s ‘Slumber Party’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ – something frontman Chester Bennington admits must “confuse” their loyal fans.
He told ET Canada: “We’re confusing. We’re like a platypus.”
The ‘In The End’ rockers say the key to their longevity as a Grammy Award-winning rock band over the last two decades has been down to managing to satisfy each member’s individual needs as musicians.
Mike added: “[We have] six guys [with] six different opinions all wanting different things, and then we find a way to come together.”
The group – also comprised of Brad Delson, Dave Farrell, Rob Bourdon and Joe Hahn – went on hiatus briefly in 2015, while Chester, 41, toured and performed with Stone Temple Pilots, who’s original frontman Scott Weiland passed away on December 3, 2015, from an accident overdose.
However, in November 2015, Chester announced he would be parting ways with STP to “focus 100 per cent” on Linkin Park.
He previously stated: “In all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I’m going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 per cent. It’s been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park.”
The band’s last studio LP was 2014’s ‘The Hunting Party’, which saw the band return to their 90s heavy metal roots.
‘One More Light’ is slated for release on May 19.

Laura Mvula dropped by Sony via email

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Mvula found out she was dropped by Sony’s RCA Victor via email.
The ‘Green Garden’ hitmaker was left in shock after she learned her contract with the label was to end through a “cold and cruel” message in January that she had been forwarded by her former manager, who had been told in person that they were terminating her five-album deal.
In an interview with the BBC, she revealed: “I didn’t see anyone, I didn’t hear anybody’s voice. I just read words. It felt so cold and cruel.
“Not even the fact I was dropped, the way that the whole thing happened. To be treated like that doesn’t feel quite just.”
When the brunette beauty opened the email she was left speechless as she had been told she was an important part of the Sony roster, and on reflection she said it was a “major wake up call” to the harsh music industry.
She recalled: “First I was confused, I didn’t understand. I was always told I was such a valued part of what Sony had become today – I was an artist who was taking risks and doing things that fresh and genuinely new – I believed them.
“I guess in my head I always thought there would be a conversation, a renegotiation, but never kinda, ‘It’s over’.
“It’s been a huge wake up call.”
Laura – who released two albums, 2013’s ‘Sing to the Moon’ and 2016’s ‘The Dreaming Room’, through Sony RCA Victor – has admitted she was “naive” when she first started out and she now realises the record business is all about “money”.
She said: “I was definitely naive in the beginning.
“When I was signed, I thought when someone says, we love you and we’re there for you until the end, that’s what they mean.”
“It doesn’t work like that, it’s business.
“It’s about money, it’s about sales. And that has certain implications if you are not popular or there aren’t enough elements in what you do that draws in the masses.
“The album culture is, ‘Momentum, please … when’s the next record coming?'”
Despite her departure from the major label, Laura has “no regrets” about the work she released through RCA, and she is going to follow the advice the late music legend, Prince – who died in April 2016 at the age of 57 from a fentanyl overdose – gave her about going it alone.
She said: “He urged me, Mvula you have the music. Find the means to own your own thing and do it yourself. And at the time I remember hearing those words and thinking, yeah but you’re Prince, it’s all right for you.
“But I think actually, now I reflect, I understand what he was saying.
“I don’t have any regrets, because I think we made … I made two great records with them.”
Sony confirmed to the BBC that they had informed Laura’s manager in person about the decision to drop her.

[Laughs] That means keep your ears on.”
He’s worked with some of the biggest artists in the music industry, but Timbaland still has some artists on his bucket list to work with and they are pop beauty Selena Gomez and chart-topping electronic pop duo The Chainsmokers – Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart.
Asked who is left on his wish list, he said: “Just the new artists. The new millennials like Selena Gomez and The Chainsmokers … all the new people that are coming out. That’s who I’d like to work with, the newer generation.”

Chuck Berry's final album will drop this year

OHMYGOSSIP — Chuck Berry’s final album will be released over the coming months.
The music legend announced on his 90th birthday in October that he was planning to drop his first record since 1979’s ‘Rock It’ but, following his tragic death over the weekend, fans were left wondering whether his 18th LP ‘Chuck’ would ever surface.
Although he’s no longer around to see it released, Chuck’s devastated family have decided to push through with the album later this year because penning the tracks had brought the late star “a great sense of joy and satisfaction.”
A statement on his official Facebook page read: “Since Chuck’s passing on Saturday, the Berry family has received many inquiries from friends, fans and media about the status of his forthcoming album CHUCK, which was originally announced on his 90th birthday, October 18, 2016.
“Working to prepare the release of this record in recent months and in fact over the last several years brought Chuck a great sense of joy and satisfaction.
“While our hearts are very heavy at this time, we know that Chuck had no greater wish than to see this album released to the world, and we know of no better way to celebrate and remember his 90 years of life than through his music.
“For months now plans have been in place, and preparations have been made with our friends at Dualtone Records, to reveal further details and music from the album this week. As a tribute to Chuck Berry, and with gratitude to his fans around the world, we will be following through on those plans in the coming days. (sic)”
Although not much is known about the forthcoming album, the ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ hitmaker previously hinted that the release would be his last ever collection of music and dedicated it to his wife of 68 years, Themetta ‘Toddy’ Suggs.
The LP is a family affair as Chuck’s children Charles Berry Jr. and Darlin Ingrid Berry – who are part of their father’s backing group, The Blueberry Hill Band – both play he harmonica and guitar on the album, which has been produced by Chuck.
Bassist Jimmy Marsala, who has played with Berry for four decades, and pianist Robert Lohr and drummer Keith Robinson also feature on the tracks.
Chuck was one of the pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll music and his early songs; ‘Rock and Roll Music’ and ‘Johnny B. Goode’ influenced the likes of The Beatles – who covered his tracks – The Rolling Stones, Bill Haley & His Comets and The Beach Boys.
Upon hearing the news of his passing over the weekend, Sir Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and Sir Rod Stewart flocked to social media to pay tribute to the music legend.

Ed quipped: “I am hell-bent on trying to get as many cuts for other artists this year as possible.”

Ed told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve got a lot of stuff coming out – you’ll hear one of them very, very soon. They will all come out by the end of the year.

The 26-year-old singer previously wrote Justin Bieber’s hit single ‘Love Yourself’, while he has also been working with the likes of Zara Larsson and James Blunt.

Ed said: “He’s so different now. He’s completely sober, clean, just drinks water – friendly, smiley. It’s a completely different person. It’s really, really nice to see.
“If you’re followed around 24/7 with a camera, they’re going to catch every moment of you, and not every human is perfect. We all make mistakes, and I think it must have been very tough being 17 and having a flashing camera in your face 24/7. He’s someone who’s definitely figured out the balance now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has broken the streaming record on Apple Music and Spotify with the release of ‘More Life’.
The 30-year-old rapper dropped his hotly anticipated playlist project over the weekend, and has already started breaking streaming records.
Billboard magazine reports that in the first 24 hours since the release of the project, Drake had garnered a whopping 89.9 million streams globally on Apple Music, handing him a new world record for streams in a 24-hour period.
The publication also reports that on Spotify, the first full day of release for ‘More Life’ saw it rake in the best first-day streams for any album on the service. The record gained 61.3 million global streams, smashing the previous record of 56.7 million, held by Ed Sheeran’s recently released ‘Divide’ (‘÷’).

Drake managed to gain an impressive 76.4 million streams across all his available music on March 19, beating the ‘Shape of You’ singer’s record of 68.7 million, which he picked up on March 3.
The news comes after the ‘One Dance’ singer has kept fans waiting for three months longer than expected, as he originally claimed ‘More Life’ would hit streaming services in December.
Drake made the announcement after he debuted the tracks ‘Two Birds One Stone’, ‘Fake Love’, and ‘Sneakin’ on his Apple Music OVO Sound radio show in October.
He said at the time: “I’m off mixtapes, you know? I wanna do a playlist, I wanna give you a collection of songs that become the soundtrack to your life. So this is more like the playlist. Like I said, dropping in December, all original music from me, but you may hear some tunes from the family on there.”
Drake also admits he would like to be remembered as an “emotion-evoking artist”.
He said recently: “[I want] to keep people excited, give them new music, let them know I’m still hungry.
“I’m doing it to be remembered as a forward thinker. I want to be remembered… as an emotion-evoking artist”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink Floyd are to release the never-before-heard full-length version of ‘Interstellar Overdrive’.
The group recorded the instrumental track – which is 14 minutes and 57 seconds long – back in 1966 and whilst a shorter version was released on their debut album ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’, this will be the first time the band have released this version.
To celebrate Record Store Day 2017 on Saturday, April 15, the band will release the one-sided 12″ 180-gram black vinyl, which will play at 33 1/3 RPM. The vinyl will also come with a fold-out poster and an A6 postcard of a picture of the band taken whilst they were working on their debut single ‘Arnold Layne’.
‘Interstellar Overdrive’ was written and recorded by Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason at the Thomson studio in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire on 31 November 1966.
Fans will also have a chance to purchase the vinyl from the Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains Exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum from May 13 for a limited time.
Meanwhile, Pink Floyd legends Roger Waters and Nick Mason previously revealed they are both up for headlining Glastonbury – but not together.

Speaking about his ambition to top the bill on the Pyramid Stage, Nick added: “It would be nice to add it to the list of things. I’ve never played Glastonbury. It would be fun to do it. I don’t think it would be very likely.”

Liam Gallagher shooting cover for new album in Paris

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has gone to Paris to shoot the cover for his debut solo album.
The former Oasis frontman has teased fans that “it won’t be long” until his new LP, titled ‘As You Were’, comes out and spilled he was off to the French capital on Monday (20.03.17) to create the sleeve art for the record.
In a Twitter post to his 1.49 million followers, he said: “Of to Paris to do album cover it won’t be long yeah yeah yeah LG x (sic)”
The Songbird’ hitmaker’s revelation follows a busy spree of tweets in which he called out his older brother and former bandmate Noel Gallagher for being a “fake”.
In the course of his various posts, the 44-year-old rocker teased that his first single is “called ‘Not For Sale’ but his tweet could have been another jibe aimed at Noel, 49.
Liam launched his Twitter tirade after photos emerged of Noel back in their hometown of Manchester wearing a Stone Island jacket, an Italian men’s fashion label long associated with football ‘casuals’.
He tweeted: “See the fake bombing about in his stone island again coz he’s in manc he’ll be back in his Prada 1st thing tmorrow LG X … It doesn’t have to be that way LG X … No seriously don’t know how you stand the pain LG X (sic)”
Liam also boasted that his fans are going to “freak out” when they hear his new songs.
He tweeted: “To the people who dig what I’m about I know you’ll freak out as its proper to the people who hate what I’m about I hope it sends you mad LG (sic)”
Liam and Noel have been at loggerheads since 2009 when the guitarist quit the band after a backstage bust-up with his younger sibling before they were due to take to the stage to headline a festival in Paris.
The fact the ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ singer has chosen the city to shoot his album cover could be a nod to the infamous fight, during which he tried to hit Noel over the head with a guitar.

The Chic frontman was asked by a fan on Twitter if he’ll be performing at the iconic music event at Somerset’s Worthy Farm this June, and he simply said “yes”.
A fan under the user name, @MrWayneyB tweeted: “@nilerodgers Glastonbury this summer? (sic)”
And he replied: “YES!!!!! (sic)”
The 64-year-old disco legend – who has collaborated with the likes of Sister Sledge, David Bowie, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk and many more over his career spanning five decades – has played the music extravaganza twice in the last five years in both 2013 and 2014.
It’s perfect timing for Chic to play Glastonbury as they are expected to release their first album in 24 years in 2017, ‘It’s About Time’.
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker said he couldn’t release the record last year because of the many deaths in the music industry and instead decided to wait till this year to drop the LP as it would be put out to coincide with their 40th anniversary.
He previously explained: “When Prince suddenly died, it was like I’d been struck by lighting twice. It made me “see” why I named the next CHIC album “It’s About Time.” Time is so important, and what we do with it is everything.
“I flashed upon this fact: 2017 is the 40th anniversary of the world’s most influential disco in history, Studio 54. It’s also the 40th anniversary of CHIC. Our song “Le Freak” became one of Studio 54’s massive anthems.
“In 2017, we will pay homage to the club that put us on the international map by doing a series of concerts, afterparties, VIP Packages, films and singles – then drop the full album along with a BIG SURPRISE!
“In 2016, I couldn’t release an album about the joy of life in A Year of So Many Deaths. (sic)”

The Charlatans' new LP features Paul Weller and Johnny Marr

OHMYGOSSIP — The Charlatans’ new album features collaborations with Paul Weller and Johnny Marr.
The ‘North Country Boy’ rockers’ frontman Tim Burgess has revealed the star-studded list of contributors on their forthcoming LP ‘Different Days’.
The track ‘Spinning Out’ features 58-year-old Weller’s backing vocals and piano and came about after the former Jam star sent Tim, 49, the music while he was at an airport and he wrote the lyrics immediately.
Tim says Weller “bossed him about” but he didn’t mind because he’s such a music legend.
As for Marr, 53, he has contributed to three songs: the album title track,’Plastic Machinery’ and ‘Not Forgotten’.
Speaking on BBC Radio Six Music, about finally collaborating with his hero, he said: “Paul Weller, we co-wrote a song with Paul Weller.
“We’ve been wanting to write for quite a long time now, but it’s got to be brilliant. The timing has to be right. So on this occasion the timing was just perfect. It was done at The Charlatans’ studio and at Black Barn Studios in Surrey.
“We had a great experience making it and Paul bossed me around a little bit.
“He sent a couple of songs to me maybe like three years ago and I was at an airport. I was listening to one of the songs and wrote the lyrics there and then while I was waiting for the plane.
“I sent them to him and he loved it. It’s quite soulful.
“It was just a magic moment.
“Singing with him facing me, he’s just such a great guy to work with and he’s such a great guy to be bossed around by.”
The record features the drums of Pete Salisbury – formerly of The Verve – who has been the group’s live drummer since Jon Brookes died in 2013 and tracks featuring New Order’s Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert.
Explaining each contributor, he added: “After John died we decided not to replace him on the drums. So the first port of call is always Pete Salisbury, who plays with us live. So he was our first guest.
“As we started to write more and more songs it became apparent that would like to ask Stephen Morris to play with us. So Stephen ended up playing on seven songs and Gillian from New Order also played on one. And then Kurt Wagner from Lambchop did a cameo and Nick Void from Factory Floor did some vocals and some vocal processing. And Anton Newcombe from The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Johnny Marr, who we’ve known since 1999, probably could have played on any of The Charlatans’ records since then, but he came over to the studio for a cup of tea and I told him to bring his guitar with him and he ended up playing on three songs.”
The record, the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Modern Nature’, is slated for release on May 26.
‘Different Day’s track-list is as follows:
1.’Hey Sunrise’ (Drums – Pete Salisbury, programming – Stephen Morris)
‘Solutions’ (Drums – Stephen Morris, backing vocals – Nik Void)
2. ‘Different Days’ (Guitar – Johnny Marr, backing vocals – Sharon Horgan)
3. ‘Future Tense’ (Spoken word intro by Ian Rankin)
4. ‘Plastic Machinery’ (Guitar: Johnny Marr and Anton Newcombe)
5. ‘The Forgotten One’ (Spoken word intro by Kurt Wagner)
6. ‘Not Forgotten’ (Guitar – Johnny Marr, organ – Anton Newcombe)
7. ‘There Will Be Chances’ (Drums – Pete Salisbury)
8. ‘The Same House’ (Synthesiser – Gillian Gilbert, drums and programming – Stephen Morris)
9. ‘Over Again’ (Percussion – Donald Johnson (A Certain Ratio), backing vocals – Nik Void (Factory Floor))
10. ‘Lets Go Together’ (Drums – Pete Salisbury)
11. ‘The Setting Sun’ – Instrumental
12. ‘Spinning Out’ (Co-written, piano and backing vocals by Paul Weller)

Camila Cabello on the 'scariest' part of leaving Fifth Harmony

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello says the “scariest part” of leaving Fifth Harmony was the unknown path she faces as a solo artist.
The 20-year-old singer – who made up one fifth of the girl group alongside Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui – quit the band in December 2016 and she is glad she took the risks involved with pursing a solo career as “expressing” herself has “become a necessity”.
Speaking to the latest issue of FAULT magazine, she admitted: “I think the scariest part about it is leaving a successful project to pursue a new dream with a new path full of questions of self-discovery that only you can answer. But even when I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of my former group, expressing myself as an artist became a necessity.”
The ‘Hay Ma’ hitmaker also admits that she is a perfectionist and gets “frustrated” with herself when her music isn’t 100 per cent how she would like it to be.
Asked about the pressure to get things perfect, she said: “I’ve always felt pressure to get everything perfect, and I’ve never gotten there, but I think that’s what keeps me growing, and keeps me frustrated with myself and keeps me reaching. I think if you’re ever comfortable and think ‘wow. this is it. I’ve figured it out.’, you stop trying and you stop growing.”
The brunette beauty is gearing up to release her debut solo album and says she would often write for herself throughout her five years in the ‘Work From Home’ group.
She said: “I was always writing, not necessarily for myself, but just because I really wanted to be a songwriter. I think as I was writing I found my own voice as an artist and as a person, and I’m discovering more about it every day.”
Camila has enjoyed the freedom to work with different writers and producers on mastering her “own musical vision”.
Asked what the best part of her solo journey has been so far, she said: “Working with so many talented writers and producers and following my own musical vision. I love the ability to create something out of nothing altogether.”
Little is known about Camila’s LP, but she is hoping to release it in autumn.
She said: “I hope to release my first few songs before summer and then go from there and hopefully an album in the Fall.”

Drake 'cut Jennifer Lopez from album after failed romance'

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake reportedly cut Jennifer Lopez from his new album after their romance failed.
The 30-year-old rap star recently enjoyed a brief fling with the ‘Jenny from the Block’ star – but Drake decided to cut their collaboration from his new album ‘More Life’ after Jennifer broke off their romance and started a relationship with baseball legend Alex Rodriguez.
Jennifer, 47, was poised to appear on the track ‘Get It Together’ but the female verse was instead recorded by Jorja Smith after their fling ended, according to the Daily Star newspaper.
Despite this, Drake recently hinted that he is not quite over the star.
On the song ‘Free Smoke’ on his new album ‘More Life’, Drake raps: “I drunk text J-Lo/ Old number, so it bounce back.”
Jennifer, meanwhile, has rubbished claims she only dates younger men, following her on/off romance with Drake and a previous long-term romance with Casper Smart, 29.
She explained: “First of all, stop! I don’t date younger men. I don’t think men have to be younger. It’s not about that. I just meet people, and if I go out with them, I go out with them. And if I like them, I like them, and if I don’t, I don’t. It’s about the person, you know what I mean? It’s about who they are. It has nothing to do with age!
“There’s this thing, because I dated beau [her backing dancer Casper Smart], and he was younger, and he was the first guy I ever dated who was younger than me, but then I got labelled right away.
“For me, it isn’t [about age]. If they’re older, they’re older. If they’re younger, they’re younger. It depends on whether or not I’m attracted to their spirit, their soul, their whatever … their energy.”
