The Script almost burned out after constant touring

OHMYGOSSIP — The Script were getting “tired of each other” after continuously touring until September 2015.
The Irish band – comprised of singer Danny O’ Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power – felt it was right to head back home after their show in Rio, Brazil and spend time with their family after living out of each other’s pockets on the road.
The band played the iconic Croke Park stadium in their native Dublin, Ireland in the June, but pressed on accepting gig offers and now they admit they should have stopped sooner.
Danny said: “We played to 80,000 fans at Croke Park in Dublin which was unlike anything else.
“That should have been the end of it but we kept saying ‘yes’ and touring for another four months, finishing in Rio.
“We were tired. We were also getting tired of each other and living on tour buses. It was a difficult time and we needed some time off.
“Having time at home, reconnecting with family and friends and doing normal things was exactly what we needed.”
Mark, 40, says if they hadn’t of stopped when they did they could have burned out.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We were running the risk of burning ourselves completely out.
“We luckily got to the point where we knew to stop just before it happened.”
The band are preparing to release their fifth studio album ‘Freedom Child’ – the follow-up to 2014’s ‘No Sound Without Silence’ – and have previously said their partying days are over, so the tour in support of the record will be a little less wild.

The track was written by rockabilly star Ersel Hickey and later recorded by both Richie Valens and The Beach Boys.
The 68-year-old rocker posted a short clip of the instrumental for the lead track ‘A Way With Words’ on his official website and his social media profiles on Tuesday (15.08.17).
Robert says fans can expect the new music to provide “dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation”.
Speaking about the collection of songs, which are accompanied up by his backing group The Sensational Space Shifters, Robert said: “It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the lure and incentive to create new work.
“I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”
Seth Lakeman also features on three tracks playing the viola and fiddle.

Aerosmith will play for ‘next 5 years’

OHMYGOSSIP — Aerosmith will be playing “for the next five years”.
Despite starting their farewell tour in May, guitarist Brad Whitford has confirmed the ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ hitmakers aren’t going anywhere too soon, and have just recorded a “very rock ‘n roll” new song.
He said: “Hopefully, there’s five more years. It’s got longer. We’re going to keep playing until we can’t play anymore.
“You don’t have to record a whole CD anymore. We’ve started recording a new song. It’s very rock ‘n roll.
“Hopefully, we can put out this one song or two or three.”
Brad also hinted the ‘Walk This Way’ group – also made up of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer – could be tempted to record a Latin-inspired tune in the near future.
He added to Billboard Argentina: “I don’t hear it that much. But the rhythm is undeniable, and the quality of the music is superior. I don’t think there’s anybody that can ignore Latin rhythm.
“The music business has changed so much since we started. You have to do things really differently.
“We could just release one song and make it available for download. It is a different world in the music business.”
Last year, Aerosmith announced a farewell tour called ‘Aero-Vederci Baby!’, which began in May 2017.
In January, Joe admitted the tour will probably last a “few years”.
He said: “The feeling is, right now is gonna be in semi-tour mode for the next few years.
“We’ll be taking time off here and there, but we really want to play some of the places that we’ve maybe played once before, maybe never before. Kind of go around and hit all the spots you can.”

Justin Bieber drops new single

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber has released a new track, ‘Friends’.
The 23-year-old singer unveiled plans for the single earlier this week, and the upbeat, poppy song – a collaboration with producer-songwriter Bloodpop – is now available and features lyrics about wanting to stay friends with a former partner.
He sings: “Now you’re wonderin’ why I’ve been calling?/Like I’ve got ulterior motives.
“No, we didn’t end this so good/But you know we had something so good.”
Justin and Bloodpop previously teamed up for the Canadian singer’s hit track ‘Sorry’, and ‘Friends’ marks his first solo release since his 2015 album ‘Purpose’.
The ‘Love Yourself’ hitmaker confirmed the release on Instagram, writing: “New song #Friends out now (sic)”
Earlier this week, Justin shared a picture of the single artwork, which features two birds fighting over one worm whilst perched on a branch with the word “Friends” emblazoned in yellow above the image.
He captioned the post: “New music. Thursday noon (sic).”
Meanwhile Justin, who recently scrapped the remaining concerts on his ‘Purpose’ tour due to “unforeseen circumstances”, has been focusing on his “spiritual journey” in order to help himself to get “stronger mentally” and he is believed to be doing “better already” after taking the break.
Speaking previously about Justin’s well-being, a source said: “He started out in the business as a kid, but he is older now. He wants to have control over his life and health. He hasn’t been feeling well mentally for a while. Cancelling the tour was the right thing for him.
“He needed to take a break and just focus on himself. He is doing better already. He is focused on his spiritual journey. He wants to be stronger mentally.”

Little Mix releasing Spanish track with CNCO

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix are “so excited” to be dropping a Spanish track with boyband CNCO on Friday (17.08.17).
The girl group – comprised of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – have collaborated with the Latin American singers on the song ‘Reggaetón Lento (Remix)’ – a remix of their hit ‘Reggatón Lento (Bailemos)’ which boasts 472 million streams and over a billion views on YouTube.
The girls thanked CNCO via a video message on Twitter, in which they said: “We just wanted to give you a quick call to say we’re so, so, excited to be singing on the ‘Reagaton Remix. Thank you for having us and we are so happy to be a part of it. Thank you guys.”
CNCO share a similar rise to fame as the British beauties, as they were also formed by Simon Cowell, on his talent show ‘La Banda’, and won the series just like Little Mix won ‘ The X Factor’ in 2011.
Since winning the shows, both groups have gone on to become multi-platinum sensations.
The track will be the second collaboration in a row for Little Mix, who released ‘Power’ with grime star Stormzy earlier this year.
Spanish remixes are becoming a big hit across the globe following Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s ‘Despacito’ and ‘Subeme La Radio’ by talent show winner Matt Terry and Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul.

Katy Perry delays Witness world tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry has delayed her ‘WITNESS: The Tour’ due to “production” setbacks.
The ‘Swish Swish’ hitmaker has been forced to push back the dates as the stage she is having designed was not ready in time for her to practice with.
The tour, which was due to kick off in Columbus, Ohio on September 7, will now begin in Montreal on September 19, but Katy has assured her fans it will be worth the wait.
Taking to Instagram, the pixie-haired beauty shared: “Due to unavoidable production delays, major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse on until this week.
“I’ll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you.
“I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait.
“My first show on WITNESS: The Tour will be in Montreal on September 19, and all of the rescheduled dates are listed on katyperry.com/tour (sic)”
The 32-year-old pop megastar also shared some good news, in that she will be bringing Noah Cyrus, Carly Rae Jepsen and Purity Ring out to perform at selected shows on the North American leg.
Before the run, the ‘Roar’ singer will be hosting the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on August 27.
The star is up for five of the iconic Moonman statuettes at the upcoming ceremony, and will also take to the stage at the Forum in California to perform.
She said in a statement: “I’ve been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I’m on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“Come August 27th, I’ll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids.”

Royal Blood’s surreal encounter with Brad Pitt

OHMYGOSSIP — Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr says it was more important having his parents at Glastonbury than Brad Pitt watching their set.
The ‘Lights Out’ duo – Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher – performed their first ever set on the Pyramid Stage at the music extravaganza at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, in June, but having the Hollywood actor in the crowd was not a big deal for them.
Mike, 28, said: “Brad said he enjoyed the show.
“It was more important to have my parents there than him, though.”
Drummer Ben says he was just one of many “strange and wonderful people” to have come to their shows.
He added: “I mean we meet a lot of strange and wonderful people, so I guess he was another to add to the list.”
Frontman Mike says that the whole experience was mind-blowing and the fact their second record ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ hit number one in the UK charts made it all the more surreal.
He told Kerrang! magazine: “It got us into a gear that it’s difficult to come down from, because it was such a massive moment for the band and there was so much going on.
“It was the biggest gig we’d ever played at that point, our first time on the Pyramid Stage, my parents were watching, Brad Pitt was with them, the record went to number one…”

Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of The Heart eclipse gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Tyler is to perform ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ during an actual eclipse.
The 66-year-old singer – who represented the UK in the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ in 2013 with ‘Believe in Me’ – is yet to sing the 1983 hit live during a total solo eclipse, but she will be doing a rendition backed back Joe Jonas’ band DNCE on the Royal Caribbean’s Total Eclipse cruise.
The Oasis of the Seas liner will depart from Orlando, Florida and head to the Bahamas on August 21, while the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the intensely bright light of the Sun.
Speaking about the event, Bonnie told TIME: “It’s going to be really exciting. It doesn’t happen very often, does it?”
The blonde star is not worried about suffering from seasickness whilst on board as she has revealed she owns her own vessel.
She said: “I have a ship of my own. I got with the flow, darling.
“I’m not worried about things like that.”
The rare event may never have happened if Bonnie hadn’t asked Meat Loaf songwriter Jim Steinman to help pen this song.
She revealed: “The A&R guy said, ‘Are you crazy? He’s never going to work with you.’
“And I said, Well, ask him!’ You don’t get until you ask.
“So they asked him, and …. I went over to meet him, and within three weeks he’d finished writing the song for me, ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, that’ he’d started writing many years ago.
“And he finished it off and gave it to me to sing.
“I wouldn’t have had this record without bloody asking.
“And I got it.”
The day before the ship sets sail, Bonnie will be practicing on board with the ‘Cake by the Ocean’ hitmakers.
She said: “So if anybody hears strange noises coming from my cabin while aboard the ship, they’ll know what it is.”
Those lucky enough to nab tickets will be given a free pair of NASA-approved glasses to protect their eyes.

Rolling Stones rehearsals like a ‘family reunion’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones’ tour rehearsals are like one big “family reunion”.
The ‘Satisfaction’ hitmakers are gearing up for a 13-date stadium run, which will see them kick off their brand new set, at Hamburg’s Stadtpark on September 8 before wrapping up at the U Arena in Paris on October 22.
And guitarist Ronnie Wood can’t wait to be reunited with his bandmates – Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts – in the studio to prepare.
He said: “We are starting to rehearse next week, we always love that. Really, it’s like a family reunion, a meal that goes on for about a month then we go out on the road.
“We concentrate and its hard work. It’s a conscious effort on all of our parts, right from rehearsal.”
Though he was brief, the 70-year-old rocker says the band have completed a number of tracks for their new record and are hoping to discuss the direction they will take once they get together again.
Speaking to Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2, he said: “Next album is ongoing, we have some in the bag and I think now we’re getting together again we’ll see what direction things are going to take.”
The ‘Paint It Black’ stars released ‘Blue & Lonesome’, an album of blues covers, in December last year and Keith hinted they are keen to make a follow up to the record.
He said recently: “I don’t think we’re going to sucker into that straight away.
“But it wouldn’t take a twist of the arm to do some more of that. It’s such fun to record, and there’s plenty more where that came from.
“‘Blue & Lonesome’ caught us a little bit by surprise in that we figured it was something we had to do, but we didn’t expect the response.”

The Jam unlikely to reunite

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jam are unlikely to reunite as Paul Weller doesn’t communicate with his former bandmates.
The rocker disbanded the group at the height of their fame when he was just 24 years old in 1982, and drummer Rick Buckler says despite sending countless messages to the frontman he’s had no reply and neither has bassist Bruce Foxton.
The pair have come to the conclusion that the ‘Going Underground’ hitmakers will never reform, unless the 59-year-old singer – who is also known as the Modfather – changes his mind.
Rick said: “It’s Paul’s choice really.
“Myself and Bruce have tried very hard to stay in touch with Paul over the years but it’s all fallen on stoney ground, so unfortunately you just give up.
“You just have to stop sending them Christmas cards in the end, there’s only so much you can do, I’m not holding my breath.”
There were attempts made to get the band back together in 2015 for the ‘About The Young’ exhibition, but Paul had no intention to get back together with Bruce and Rick.
The 61-year-old sticksman admits he has no idea as to why the ‘Broken Stones’ hitmaker is against a reunion.
Rick told the Daily Star newspaper: “He seems absolutely dead set against there ever being any kind of reform, and every time he gets asked about it it’s always a categorical no.
“I don’t know why he’s taken that view but that’s up to him, and of course it takes three to tango in this case.
“I suppose Paul feels he doesn’t need to, he certainly doesn’t need to, he certainly doesn’t want to.”
In 2015, Paul said though he found it “awful and painful” breaking the news to bandmates Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, he stands by the decision to break up the trio.
At the time, he said: “It was tough to tell Rick and Bruce. I did feel bad about doing that. But it’s like splitting up with your girlfriend. It’s awful and painful but ultimately you have to do it.
“I have no regrets whatsoever. We could have carried on and been on our 23rd studio album which no one gives a f**k about and no one listens to.”

Demi Lovato is desperate to collaborate with Halsey

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato is desperate to collaborate with Halsey.
The 24-year-old singer has admitted she would “love” nothing more than to join forces with the ‘Now or Never’ hitmaker on a track in the future, although she has admitted her upcoming album does not feature a single collaboration “yet”.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the powerhouse said: “I’ve love to do something with [her].
“I haven’t actually had any collaborations for [my] album put together yet.”
The brunette beauty has teased she will be releasing a new LP “very soon”, and she hopes she will be able to include additional songs featuring other artists on the compilation.
Speaking about her upcoming projects, she said: “[The album] is more soulful this time around.
“There will be some [collaborations], we just have to figure out where they go. But my music will be more R&B, more soulful and you’ll just have to wait and hear the rest.
“[And it is coming] very soon. Fingers crossed that it’s sooner than you think.”
The ‘Camp Rock’ actress has recently released her newest single ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, which the star has revealed is a track for “the haters” and the “bullying” she was a victim to when she was a child.
She explained: “The message in that song is for the haters. A lot of people think it’s about a relationship, and it could be for other people, but for me it was – I had never written a song about the bullying that I experienced when I was in middle school. It drove me out of public school and I started home schooling because it got so bad.
“It was just a feel-good song. I had the title idea ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ and I came in with the concept and then we wrote to it. It turned out to be more so about the haters rather than an ex, which was cool, and I think it makes it more relatable for people.”

Zayn Malik claims to have ‘evolved’ as a musician

OHMYGOSSIP — Zayn Malik’s second solo album will showcase his “evolution” as an artist.
The 24-year-old star has admitted his debut release ‘Mind of Mine’ represented a step into the unknown, but Zayn feels he has subsequently improved as a songwriter and says his new album is more “organised”.
He shared: “I feel like my songwriting definitely developed, just because I’ve been doing it so much. I feel like the songs are a bit more organised, where I felt like, before, that ‘Mind of Mine’ was a brainstorm. That’s why I called it ‘Mind of Mine’, because it was ideas that I had that I put out.”
By contrast, Zayn feels his new album is more carefully constructed.
Speaking to V Man magazine, Zayn explained: “This one is more thought out. I had more time to process everything and go through it all. It’s an evolution.”
Meanwhile, Liam Payne, Zayn’s former One Direction bandmate, recently revealed he would like to team up on a song with the chart-topping star.
Liam said: “I think I would collaborate with Zayn because we do really similar types of music.”
Elsewhere, Simon Cowell has also talked up the prospect of Zayn reuniting with One Direction at some stage in the future.
Zayn quit the band in March 2015, but Simon believes the original line-up could reunite further down the line.
He explained: “You know, it’s fun being out there on your own but what I hope is going to happen is that they remember now how much fun it was being in a group.”

Fall Out Boy’s evolving sound

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Wentz says Fall Out Boy’s new sound is a balance between the past and future.
The ‘Centuries’ hitmakers are currently working hard getting their new album ‘MANIA’ which they’ve had to push back four months because they weren’t satisfied with the quality of the tracks.
However, the 38-year-old bassist has given an update on where they heading and how they are influenced by an array of artists.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, he explained: “That’s what our band needs … a foot in the future and a foot in the past.
“To balance the record. What’s interesting with Fall Out Boy is we have guitar, drums and bass, but we’re finding ways to incorporate other ideas. What I liked about The Clash was how they used and twisted those influences.”
Pete previously said that he would love to see the band collaborate with R&B superstar Rihanna or even a pop megastar like Taylor Swift, who duetted with them previously on their song ‘Light Em Up’.
He said: “We did this Victoria’s Secret show with Taylor [Swift] and she sang ‘Light Em Up’ with us. She is very in demand though, isn’t she?” he said. “I wouldn’t hold my breath. She was so sweet. I’d really like to do something cool with Rihanna.”
Their seventh studio album was originally meant to be coming on September 15, but they will now have the extra four months to make a polished masterpiece.

Robert Plant teases new song

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Plant has shared a preview of what appears to be a new song called ‘A Way With Words’.
The Led Zeppelin frontman posted a short clip of the instrumental for the track on his official website and his social media profiles on Tuesday (15.08.17), but hasn’t said whether it will be a standalone single, for his next solo record or a second LP with his backing band The Sensational Space Shift.
In May, the 68-year-old rocker sparked Zeppelin reunion rumours after he left a cryptic message on his official website.
The homepage had been turned black with just the words “Any time now…” visible, leading fans of the ‘Whole Lotta Love’ group to guess they were about to regroup.
Website Feel Numb reported that “well-placed sources” said that the rock star had agreed to reunite with his old bandmates – Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones – for California’s Desert Trip Festival in Indio in October.
However, it’s now looking more likely that the track will be a solo project or a follow-up to The Sensational Space Shift’s self-tilted 2012 LP.
The iconic rock band last performed together in December 2007 at London’s The O2 in aid of the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert, a benefit concert held in memory of music executive Ahmet Ertegün.
Robert and Jimmy were reunited in court last year, when they were accused of lifting the music from Spirit’s 1968 instrumental track ‘Taurus’ for their song ‘Stairway to Heaven, which they co-wrote and released in 1971.
However, Jimmy denied allegations that he and Robert penned the classic rock song after hearing ‘Taurus’.
Zeppelin formed in 1968, however, the death of John Bonham in 1980 led to their disbandment.
Bonham’s son performed at the comeback show in 2007, and later said in his “hearts of hearts” he believed the band would reform.
As a solo artist, Plant has released 10 records since 1982, his last being 2014’s ‘Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar’.

Noel Gallagher to headline Manchester Arena re-opening gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will headline Manchester Arena’s re-opening concert on September 9.
The former Oasis guitarist will be joined by local acts including Blossoms, The Courteeners and Rick Astley at the first show at the venue following the terrorist attack at Ariana Grande’s concert at the venue on May 22, which saw 23 people were killed and 250 were injured.
All money made from ticket sales will be donated to the Manchester Memorial Fund, which has been setup to fund a memorial for the people who tragically lost their lives.
A note revealing the line-up for the event called ‘We Are Manchester’ posted on Noel’s Twitter reads: “We Are Manchester Saturday 9th September, Manchester Arena will re-open with a special benefit concert to honour those affected by May’s atrocities.
The evening will feature NGHFB’s & other top Manchester bands including Courteeners & Blossoms.
Tickets go on sale 9am, Thursday 17th August.
All profits from the concert will raise money for the Manchester Memorial Fund, a charitable trust overseen by the Lord Mayor of Manchester which will go towards establishing a permanent memorial for the victims of the 22nd May attack. (sic)”
It is only fitting that the 50-year-old rocker should perform at the show as Oasis’ 1996 hit ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ has became an anthem for the Northern city in the wake of the horrific terrorist bombing.
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker’s brother and bitter rival Liam Gallagher, 44, performed the song at Ariana’s One Love Manchester benefit concert in June.
And even though Noel donated the royalties from the track to the victims, the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker blasted his sibling for not performing the song with him at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
At the time, he said: “He’s made it clear that a reunion is not at the top of his priorities and right now it’s not the top of mine. I would prefer it if I was in Oasis, but that’s not what the Manchester concert was about. He could have got up and done ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and never even had to see me.
“Are you telling me that if Noel Gallagher rocked up with his guitar and knocked on the door they would say, ‘You’re not invited, mate’? So he can f**k off on that one. I don’t care if he was in the Amalfi Coast or wherever, it lacked sympathy on his behalf. We have family and friends in Manchester and me mam’s still there, and it would have been nice to do it for his people. End of.”
Tickets for ‘We Are Manchester’ go on sale on Thursday (17.08.17).
