Louis Tomlinson teases new song

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson has shared a preview of a new song from his debut solo album.
The One Direction hunk posted a clip on Instagram on Wednesday (23.08.17) of himself listening to the track during a car journey.
On the recording he can be heard singing: “I went to Amsterdam without you and all I could do was think about you.”
The ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker also took to Twitter to tease the track and his completed record, but said he’s not sure if it will be his next single.
Louis also said that he made the track six months ago.
In a series of tweets, he wrote: “Just listening to the album on my way home so thought you deserved a little exclusive … Anyone work out the lyric yet ? … Haha smashed it . Made it to Amsterdam last month though … P.s wrote that song like 6 months ago (sic)”
Replying to a fan who asked if it will be his next release, he said: “nah don’t think so. Maybe though (sic)”
Louis recently said he is planning to release “two more singles” before his full record.
The 25-year-old singer said fans will “definitely learn a bit more” about him when his album drops, but it certainly won’t be all about “fairytales”.
He said: “I’ll probably do one, maybe two more singles and then the album. But the album in general is just very honest and conversational. In the early sessions I’ve had, a lot of songwriters love to write about fairytales and situations that just don’t really feel like the bands that I grew up listening to.
“They speak very matter-of-fact and honest, and I think that’s cool and that’s interesting. Although the fans know loads about me, they’ll definitely learn a bit more after the album.”
Louis recently teamed up with Bebe Rexha for his second solo single, ‘Back To You’, but insists his next release, which he already has in place, will sound more like him “lyrically”.
He said: “I think my next single will sound the most like me lyrically. I suppose I’m constantly looking at the results of the [current] single, but for me I am really excited to release that one because it feels the more like me lyrically.
“I think we do have the next single, it’s just working out when the best time to release that is and that’s depending on how this single goes.”

Kasabian’s Tom Meighan will be fit for Reading and Leeds

OHMYGOSSIP — Kasabian’s Tom Meighan will be fit in time for Reading and Leeds this weekend.
The ‘Bless This Acid House’ rockers were forced to axe their Belfast show after the 36-year-old frontman was rushed to hospital with “severe vomiting” on Tuesday (22.08.17).
However, the Daily Star newspaper reports that Tom will be back on his feet in time for their headline performances at the festivals in Reading on Friday (25.08.17) and Leeds on Saturday (26.08.17).
The band – also comprised of Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Karloff and bassist Chris Edwards – had “no option” but to pull out of the gig moments before they were due to go on stage at Custom House Square in the Northern Irish capital, because the singer became poorly and was unable to stand up.
However, they reassured fans they will be rescheduling the performance and that Tom is on the mend.
Taking to Facebook to reveal the illness which caused them to cancel the performance, the band wrote: “Absolutely gutted to have to cancel last night’s show in Belfast. We were all at Custom House Square, ready to go on stage when Tom suddenly went down with severe vomiting and could hardly stand up let alone sing. He was taken to hospital, put on a drip and told to rest up. We had no option but to cancel and we’re sorry to our fans and anyone that travelled a long way. Thanks so much for all your messages of support. Details on the rescheduled date to follow soon xx (sic)”
Fans were urged to keep hold of their tickets as they will be valid for a rescheduled date when that is announced.
The show’s organisers said: “We are working on scheduling a new date for Belfast. We will communicate with all ticket buyers via Ticketmaster and on the Custom House Square social media.
“Tickets remain valid for the new date. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The Killers: New bands aren’t ‘good enough’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Killers don’t think new bands are “good enough” to gain fans by word of mouth.
The ‘Mr Brightside’ hitmakers have hit out at new bands, claiming there aren’t any that have the same skills as the likes of The Strokes or Interpol and blaming their lack of talent for the fall in people talking about a band as much as they would have a decade ago.
When talking about the drop in recognition that new bands are facing, frontman Brandon Flowers said: “It could happen. But there hasn’t been anybody good enough. If there was a band like the Strokes or Interpol, people would talk. If there were some kids out there right now playing ‘Obstacle 1’ tonight, I would hear about it, you would hear about it. But there isn’t.”
And drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr said people are “too quick” to blame changes in technology for what he believes is in fact a drop in music quality.
He added to Noisey: “People are very quick to blame a changing of the times for a lot of things, when it’s really that they’re just not good enough yet.”
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Brandon – whose band is gearing up to release their fifth album ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ later this year – recently hit out at the at the state of popular music and believes there are too many tunes being released which don’t have a lot of substance to them.
He said: “We’ve been hearing a lot of false music out there – music designed for the non-discerning listener.
“I wouldn’t feel this excited [about ‘Wonderful Wonderful’] if the songs weren’t true.”
And Brandon is confident their new record will be a hit.
He added: “It’s always good when you have that satiated feeling, the desire that’s quenched, when you have substance behind it. That’s when you know you have something.”

She explained: “Since my husband’s tragic passing, fans from all over the world have come together to share their feelings about what Chris and his music meant to them, leaving thousands of messages of love while visiting him at Hollywood Forever and online. You have opened your hearts to me and our children and we are grateful to you for your sympathy, love and support in bringing us solace and helping us heal.
“Thank you all for your love and support in helping us bear the unbearable.”
She also directed fans to a link to Chris’ website, where they can share their memories and tributes.
The site already features a number of tributes, including one from Vicky.
She wrote: “We had our beautiful babies, and you were convinced we were soulmates, and that you had been looking for me. I’m so happy you found me. I’m so happy for the nearly 14 and a half years we spent together. We did everything together, literally, everything. You were my best friend, and when I wasn’t out on tour, we were on the phone at least 4 hours a day.
“You were the best father, husband, and son-in-law to my parents. Your patience, empathy, and love always shone through.
“You had always said I saved you. You wouldn’t be alive if it were not for me. My heart gleamed to see you happy living and motivated. Excited for life. Doing everything you can to give back. We had the time of our lives in the last decade, and I’m sorry my sweet love that I did not see what happened to you that night, I’m sorry you were alone, and I know that was NOT you my sweet Christopher. Your children know that too so you can Rest In Peace.
“I am broken, but I will stand up for you, and I will take care of our beautiful babies. I will think of you every minute of every day, and I will fight for you. You were right when you said we are soulmates. It has been said that paths that have crossed will cross again, and I know that you will come find me, and I will be here waiting.
“I love you more than anyone has ever loved anyone in the history of loving and more than anyone ever will. ALWAYS AND FOREVER, YOUR VICKY (sic).”

Nadine Coyle’s new single Go To Work

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadine Coyle has announced her new single ‘Go To Work’.
The Girls Aloud star took to social media on Wednesday (23.08.17) to reveal the release date of her upcoming single is September 8.
Captioning a picture of the single artwork, she wrote on Twitter: “My new single ‘Go To Work’ is out on September 8th … Pre-save on @Spotify to be the first to hear it next month (sic)”
The announcement comes fresh off the back of Nadine signing a new record deal with Virgin EMI.
She said at the time: “I’m so excited to be releasing music again. I’m nervous but really happy to be sharing them finally. It’s a dream come true to sign a solo deal with a label that’s as brilliant as Virgin EMI. The team really share my vision for the album and I can’t wait to start performing again.”
Whilst a source added: “Nadine knows she has a lot to prove. The music industry has changed and Nadine wants support from streaming sites like Spotify and Apple Music. So signing a big deal with Virgin EMI makes perfect sense.”
Meanwhile, Nadine has said to be keen to make a comeback for a while now.
The insider shared: “Nadine has spent the last few years soul-searching and finally feels ready to have another crack at her solo career. She has been working with Brian and can’t wait to show people her material. There has even been talk of a Girls Aloud track on the album.”
Nadine’s bandmate Sarah Harding is currently in ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and has been nostalgically recalling their time in the group.
Speaking about their fame, she said recently: “I hugely underestimated how big we were when we were, because [when] I was doing it I was in a bubble. I do miss them, but we’re all grown up now. Most of them are getting married and having kids, which is what I want too.”

Phil Rudd announces new single Sun Goes Down

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Rudd’s new single will be released on September 29.
The 63-year-old musician – who was a long term drummer for AC/DC – has announced his new track ‘Sun Goes Down’ will be released in the early Autumn.
The song was penned with direct inspiration from Rudd’s life and refers to a time in his life when he found himself starting things over again in a brand new country.
And Rudd is set to take his debut solo album ‘Head Job’ on the road again across the UK and Europe, starting in September.
Rudd got in trouble with the law a few years back and had been sentenced to an eight-month home detention sentence after pleading guilty to a threat to kill charge and for possession of methamphetamine and cannabis.
The drummer – who has since finished his sentence – was handed down his punishment at the District Court in Tauranga, New Zealand, following a police raid on his waterfront North Island mansion in Taranga on November 6, 2015.
Rudd originally entered a plea of not guilty to the crimes but ahead of his trial back in April 2015, his lawyer informed the judge he would be altering his plea. A threatening to kill charge had been dropped as well as an earlier charge of attempting to procure murder, which was ditched before the case went to court.
Before he changed his plea, the court heard that Rudd had asked for a former employee, a security guard, to be “taken out” after becoming angry that his solo LP had not sold well. He allegedly later offered the person he had contacted £100,000 as well as “a motorbike, one of his cars or a house” for carrying out his request.
However, in a later interview, Rudd admitted he had seen the “error of his ways”.
He wrote: “I tried to get in contact with Angus [Young], with anybody, I wrote them a letter and I’ve had no contact at all. I’m very disappointed … But you know, that’s life …
“I’m the best live rock drummer. That’s what I think of myself. That’s who I am. I can’t help it. I’ve seen the error of my ways and it’s onward and upward from here.”
Phil Rudd’s full UK and Europe tour dates are as follows:
September 14 – Southampton, England – The Brook
September 15 – London, England – The Underworld
September 17 – Brighton, England – Concorde
September 19 – St Albans, England – Alban Arena

Carly Rae Jepsen’s mystery game plan

OHMYGOSSIP — Carly Rae Jepsen says it’s a “mystery” as to when she’ll release her next record.
The ‘Call Me Maybe’ hitmaker hasn’t given fans a studio album since 2015’s ‘Emotion’ and is in no hurry to drop music right away, but she says she has a “game plan” starting to take shape.
She told Vulture: “I’ll say this: I have my own little game plan, but life’s a mystery, and you never know what could happen.
“I’m open to a little flexibility in that, obviously. I don’t run the show in terms of what happens [when], but I definitely feel like I’m starting to have a game plan, yes.”
The 31-year-old beauty – who is set to join Katy Perry on her ‘WITNESS: Tour’ in September – says the most important thing to her is to make music of a high standard that she can leave behind as a legacy, as she doesn’t measure her success through record sales.
Asked if her fans are getting the “real” her, she explained: “I feel like every year, I’m painfully stripping closer and closer.
“Also, I’ve made some changes in the way I look at the business and my place in it.
“I don’t care that much about maybe some of the things that I should care about, but the ultimate thing for me is caring about leaving something good after I die.
“So I’m not really worried about how well it sells or how well it does.
“The game is fun, yes.
“I understand the game. But I’m never going to sacrifice what I think is the quality of something to win. I think the only way to really win at the game — and by the game, I mean the business — is to win it authentically, almost by accident, because it just was a true version of yourself.
“I’m not going to be satisfied if something works and felt like it wasn’t me, you know?”

Taylor Swift announces new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift’s new album will be released on November 10.
The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker has been teasing fans with posts of snakes on her Instagram account over the last couple of days but has now revealed what it is all in aid of – her upcoming LP called ‘Reputation’.
Sharing the news on her Instagram account, she uploaded a picture of a sign that read: “Reputation – the new album for Taylor Swift. November 10.”
She also posted a series of other pictures, revealing her first single off the new album would be released on Thursday (24.08.17).
The news unsurprisingly thrilled her fans who took to social media to share their excitement about the new music.
One wrote: “Taylor Swift is DONE playing around. I cannot wait for this. I’ve never felt so alive (sic)”
Whilst another shared: “NEW @taylorswift13 ALBUM NOVEMBER 10TH ASGDJDKH THIS IS NOT A DRILL (sic)”
It comes after a source claimed Taylor was “overhauling her image” with her new tracks.
One source said: “The single is very different. It goes from very soft, to hard, to soft again. Taylor is overhauling her image.”
Whilst another insider added: “It doesn’t sound like anything she’s done before. It’s a little unusual. She plays around with new sounds each album cycle, but this one in particular stands out.”
A third shared: “She’s being very secretive about it, but it’s going to be a really good one.”
And now we know Taylor has some new music in the pipeline, it is likely that it has been travelling under lock and key as the singer’s pal and collaborator Ed Sheeran previously revealed the lengths Taylor goes to to keep her music out of the public domain until it is officially released.
He shared previously: “She would never send new songs, no. I hear them but has to be with her. I remember when I did a song with her for her album, I was in San Francisco and they sent someone with a locked briefcase with an iPad and one song on it and they flew San Francisco and played the song I’ve done with her and asked if I like it and I was like ‘yeah’ and they took it back, that’s how I hear it.”

The ‘God Bless This Acid House’ hitmakers angered their fans by giving little notice, but have reassured them they will be rescheduling the performance and that the 36-year-old singer is resting up.
Taking to Facebook to reveal the illness which caused them to cancel the performance, the band wrote: “Absolutely gutted to have to cancel last night’s show in Belfast. Charli XCX: Gay community were first to celebrate my music

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX says the gay community were the first to embrace her music.
The ‘Boys’ singer loves that she can perform shows at gay venues and thinks it is “really sweet” when her fans – known as Angels – reach out to tell her that her songs have helped them get through a break-up.
Speaking to Australian LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersexual) website the Star Observer, she said: “I feel like the gay community were among the first to celebrate my music.
“They’re always the first to jump on board and rep an artist, and I’m always really happy and thankful I can play so many of my shows at gay clubs.
“LGBTI people always reach out to me and say my songs have helped them get through their relationship break-up, and that they were important to them when they were leaving their partner – I think that’s really sweet.”
The 25-year-old pop star says that she thinks it is important for artists to use their voice to stand up for what they believe in, and in the brunette beauty’s case that is supporting LGBTI rights.
She explained: “I think as people in the public eye we have a huge platform, and it’s always important to champion causes you love.
“And the LGBTI community has been close to me because of how I came up in the scene and also I have a lot of friends that are part of that community.
“I always try to head along to Pride to celebrate and speak out for LGBTI rights.”

The ‘Buy You A Drank’ rapper has decided to give his fans what they asked for after being flooded with compliments for a special ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ performance he did for NPR in 2014, which saw him ditch his trademark auto-tune style in favour of going fully acoustic.
He said: “I wanted to do something different for you guys … performing some of my favourite songs in a way you’ve never seen or heard.
“The love and respect I’ve received from my NPR performance has not only shown a different side of me to fans, but it also has introduced me to a whole different set of fans.

Asked what fans can expect, he said: “Ya know, in case of people screaming requests from the audience before promising.
“The fans can expect a good time and nostalgia out the wazoo.”
Not only did the NPR show inspire the 31-year-old star to doing something fresh with his music, but it also convinced him to quit smoking, and he has been reaping the health benefits ever since.

“My heart problems have gone away. I feel great. I can breathe again. A lot came from this performance.”

Steve Aoki plays Linkin Park songs to help mourn Chester

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Aoki has been including Linkin Park songs in his set to help him deal with Chester Bennington’s death.
The EDM star and the late ‘Numb’ hitmaker were very close and had even collaborated on music together, including the 2015 track ‘Darker Than Blood’.
‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker Steve has been finding it hard to come to terms with the loss of the rock star, who died from suicide last month at the age of 41, but says hearing his voice makes him remember the good times they shared and keeps his memory alive.
The 39-year-old producer told The Sun Online: “It’s really tough, but it’s really good for me to play their music in my sets. To hear his voice and play our songs, we did a few songs together. First of all its acceptance, right. It’s accepting he did actually pass away. That’s a very strange thought because it’s so tragic and I didn’t expect it.
“I play his songs in my set every night. You want to remember everything and you want to share those memories.
“What we did together was so beautiful. I want to share that even more now. I’m so proud of doing something with, to me, one of the greatest singers of all time.
“He’s my favourite singer. The crowd are singing every word, in the moment, it’s amazing.”
At the time of his passing, Steve hailed Chester his “hero”.
He wrote on Instagram: My dear dear friend I’m so broken from this loss. A dream come true to work with you talk with you learn from you. You are a legend. You are my hero. You are the GOAT an absolute beautiful human being and I’m so honored to have experienced those moments with you. Forever in my heart my brother. (sic)”

Morrissey announces new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey is releasing a new album after inking a deal with BMG.
The former Smiths frontman is yet to unveil the full track-listing for ‘Low in High-School’, which is his first studio album since 2014’s ‘World Peace Is None of Your Business’.
However, he is set to debut new music at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on November 10, a week before the LP is released on November 17.
The signing with BMG also sees them look after the launch of the ‘Kiss Me a Lot’ singer’s own label, Etienne Records.
Korda Marshall, the Executive Vice President of BMG, said of the signing: “There are not many artists around today that can compare to Morrissey. He is an extraordinary talent.
“He is prodigious, literate, witty, elegant and above all, courageous.
“His lyrics, humour and melodies have influenced many generations. The music on this new landmark record will speak for itself and we are delighted to welcome him to BMG.”
Before going on a world tour in 2016, Morrissey stated that he couldn’t see the point of playing live unless he had new material to release.
Speaking in 2015, the outspoken songwriter said: “We are obsessively grateful for all interest and loyalty from our audience … throughout 28 years. But without new releases, there is no point in any additional touring.”
Morrissey, 58, has been plagued by health problems in recent years and has undergone several treatments for oesophageal cancer since 2014.
His former band The Smiths – also comprised of guitarist Johnny Marr, drummer Mike Joyce and bassist Andy Rourke – broke up in acrimonious circumstances in 1987 and despite being offered massive money to reunite for concerts they’ve never come close to getting back together.
Marr, 53, previously revealed: “I think we were offered $50 million for three … possibly five shows.”
Relations between the band members has been poor since 1989 when Joyce and Rourke successfully sued Morrissey and Marr to get more than 10 per cent of the group’s royalties.
Meanwhile, fans of the band will be able to get their hands on a remastered version of the iconic British punk band’s seminal 1986 album ‘The Queen Is Dead’ on October 20.
