Noel Gallagher teases new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has hinted that he has a new single coming soon.
The former Oasis guitarist’s third studio album is scheduled to be released in November, and on Tuesday night (29.08.17) Noel teased his fans with a cryptic post about The High Flying Birds LP, which will be the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Chasing Yesterday’.
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker took to Instagram to share a picture of a room with a large clear sheet hanging up with the words “It’s A Beautiful World” emblazoned across it, leading his followers to believe it’s the title of the first track on the record.
Alongside the picture, he wrote: “Isn’t it!?!?! (sic)”
The 50-year-old rocker has been working with producer David Holmes at the music maestro’s home in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and at his private studio at his house in London and previously spilled details of the album’s release date.
When quizzed as to when fans can expect to hear his next batch of songs, Noel replied: “I believe it’s slated for a November release.”
When pushed for a song title, he said: “There’s one just called instrumental number three.”
The ‘AKA… What a Life!’ hitmaker previously admitted he is very excited about unveiling the album to the world because Holmes – who is famous for his movie soundtrack work – got him to record in a totally different way for him.
In a 2016 interview with BBC Radio 6, he said: “All the songs that I was writing towards making a record have not been used because when we decided to make a record with David Holmes the way he works is that all the writing gets done in the studio. So I started this record at his house in Belfast. The process is the complete opposite to the way that I’ve always worked. With this, you have no idea what you’ve got until it’s there, and the end results are great because they’re constantly evolving.”
Noel’s younger brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher is also putting the finishing touches to his own album.
The 44-year-old singer is releasing his debut solo LP, titled ‘As You Were’, and the wild rocker has previously told the band’s fans to expect 2017 to be “the year of the face off” between him and Noel – who he has barely spoken to since the guitarist quit Oasis in 2009 following a backstage fight between the siblings.
In a Twitter rant, Liam posted: “2017 the year of the face off Wright vs wrong Real Vs fake Love vs Hate as you were LFUKING x

Demi Lovato’s new song about famous person

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato’s new album features a song about a famous person which will make headlines.
The 25-year-old beauty recently announced her new record ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ will be released on September 29, and now she has revealed she is “nervous” about the world hearing one of the tracks written about a certain someone who she’s not naming.
She said: “Sometimes you put music that you just feel like everyone is going to know who it’s about.
“Headlines are going to come out of it, and it’s like, when you write a song, you’re just being vulnerable, and you’re just writing about something that’s inspiring you, so all the baggage that comes with it is what I’m kind of nervous about.”
Demi is not giving away any clues as to who inspired the track and may never tell, but she won’t let “theories” about the song get to her.
She told MTV: “I think that everything happens for a reason, and certain emotions are felt at certain points in your life, and you don’t always have to explain them to people.
“So whatever you want to think about it – you go into whatever theories you have – fine.
“But I know what it’s about and who it’s about and I’m just going to let it be.”
The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker has already shared a preview of the album-titled track.
In the clip taken in the studio posted on her Instagram, she sings: “Tell me you love me/ I need someone on days like this, I do/ On days like this/ Oh, can you hear my heart say, ‘Oh, whoa-oh, oh, oh.”
However, she is yet to unveil the full track-listing for her sixth studio album.
So far, it includes ‘Sexy Dirty Love’, ‘You Don’t Do It for Me Anymore’ and the title track.

Metallica to reissue Master of Puppets

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica are re-releasing their third studio album ‘Master Of Puppets’ on November 10.
The reissue of the classic 1986 metal record will feature unreleased material including demos, rough mixes, videos and live tracks, including a new version of ‘Disposable Heroes’ and a live recording of ‘The Thing That Should Not Be’.
The LP was the band’s first record to go platinum and ended up going 6 x platinum in the US.
‘Master Of Puppets’ was the last studio release the band recorded with late bass player Cliff Burton, who was in the band from 1982 until his death in September 1986.
Drummer Lars Ulrich – who is joined by James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo in the group – previously opened up about how important the album was for the band.
He said: “There are so many things associated with ‘Master Of Puppets’ – it is an immense project.
“‘Master Of Puppets’ seemed to be the culmination of the journey that had started four or five years before with James and I getting together, writing some songs, Kirk and Cliff joining, and that lineup settling.”
Fans can get their hands on the reissue in a range of formats including Standard LP, Standard CD, 3 CD Expanded Edition, and the Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set.

Lady Gaga starts work on 6th album

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has started writing her sixth studio album.
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker is still touring her latest record ‘Joanne’, but is using her time on the road to muster up some inspiration to put pen to paper on new songs for her next album.
She said: “I’ve started writing.”
But the star is yet to decide whether her latest album will spawn another single or not, despite online pleas by fans for ‘Dancin’ In Circles’ to be released.
She said: “I’ll let ya know.
“I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things I want to create, so you’ll see in a bit. I need some time to create.”
Gaga is known for playing some previously unreleased songs on her tours and while she is keen to do that again on her forthcoming ‘Joanne World Tour’ shows, she won’t be able to change the set as much as usual because the technical side of things is “extremely complex”.
She added to ‘Entertainment Weekly’: “This show’s actually extremely complex and complicated, and the stage is coded with a computer. It’s intense and the cues all have to be met at a particular time. It’s high stress and tense backstage to make sure everything happens at the exact moment it’s supposed to. So, the setlist might change a little bit, but mostly you’re coming to see a piece that we’ve created for you. It’s two hours and fifteen minutes we’ve thought about very closely. It’s from our heart, and it’s from a band, dancers, artists, and everyone we’ve worked with in the 10 years we have behind us together.”
Gaga’s 60-date ‘Joanne World Tour’ started in Canada on August 1 and is due to end in Inglewood on December 18 following further shows in North America, as well as gigs in Europe and one in Brazil.

Skylar Grey hails her ‘happiest ever song’

OHMYGOSSIP — Skylar Grey’s collaboration with Macklemore is “probably the happiest song [she’s] ever written”.
The 31-year-old singer has teamed up with the rap star for the track ‘Glorious’ and she says the single’s positive feel reflects her new-found happiness.
She explained: “I really love the song. It’s probably the happiest song I’ve ever written. I mean, it’s called ‘Glorious’. Music reflects real life.
“When I wrote this song, also as I’m writing my new album, I’m just a happier person in general – and all the music seems to be a lot happier than the dark stuff I’m known for. So it’s a fun change-up in my career creatively.”
Skylar – who has previously worked with the likes of Eminem and P Diddy – explained maturity had helped to make her a more positive person.
Asked why she’s feeling so upbeat at the moment, the singer explained to Billboard: “I think I’ve really grown up in the past couple years, and I figured out that life is really short, and it’s important to just enjoy every day.
“I get to wake up and do what I love every day. You know, life is good. And instead of sulking about my past or being anxious about the future, I’m just trying to stay present all the time, and it’s really changed my mood in general.
“It’s affecting my music and my songwriting, big time. I think it’s always easier to stand behind a song and promote a song that you feel. I do feel glorious, so, it’s exciting to promote a song called ‘Glorious’.”
Skylar also revealed that one line in the song is particularly meaningful to her.
She shared: “‘I was born for this, born for this, it’s who I am, how could I forget’ – that’s something a lot of artist go through, doubting themselves at some point in their career and feel like they’re failing.
“But then you realise when something like music is just who you are, it’s in your blood, you’re always going to come back to it.”

Blue are working on a new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Webbe has confirmed Blue are back in the studio.
The 39-year-old singer says the band – also comprised of Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Anthony Costa – are working on new music for their first studio album since 2015’s ‘Colours’, which underperformed and saw them dropped by record label Sony Music.
However, with Lee in ‘EastEnders’, Duncan in ‘Hollyoaks’ and Anthony’s commitment to an Agatha Christie play, the boys have had to save the weekends for working on new tunes.
He said: “We’re in the studio. We did the Sunshine Festival in Worcester. We’re going to Latvia tomorrow. We’re constantly working, at least two or three times a month.”
The ‘All Rise’ hitmaker says he and his bandmates keep one another grounded.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s ‘The Michael Ball Show’ on Sunday (27.08.17), Simon – who releases his first solo album in 11 years ‘Smile’ on October 13 – said: “[If] the attitude is that we’re getting above our station, the other three will bring you back into line. We’re very, very grateful to be in the position that we are.”
Blue are gearing up to release an autobiography detailing the ups and down of their 16-year career, and are said to have “really enjoyed” having the chance to open up about their lives.
A source said previously: “This book has more highs and lows than ‘Game of Thrones’, and almost as much drama.
“They really enjoyed opening up – they’ve been through some real tough times both individually and as a band.”
The tome is set to detail the secret battle with depression which left Simon contemplating suicide, whilst Lee, 33, opens up about his throat cancer scare which left him unable to perform for almost 18 months.
A release date for the tell-all autobiography is yet to be announced.

Camila Cabello finds her voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello says making her debut solo album has allowed her to voice who she really is.
The 20-year-old singer quit girl group Fifth Harmony in December 2016 to go it alone and is gearing up to release ‘The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving.’ in September, which she says is a true representation of herself and her culture.
The American-Cuban beauty told the latest issue of Rollercoaster magazine: “Making my own music now, it truly is my voice, I’m able to actually talk about who I am, and a big part of that is my culture and my family … How I’m able to represent other people that are Latin is better because now I actually get to talk from my voice.”
Camila says that when she was in the ‘Work from Home’ group she and the other girls didn’t get the freedom to voice their individual opinions.
She said: “In a group, other people do it for you, if that makes sense, because nobody can handle five different opinions on one thing.”
The ‘Crying in the Club’ hitmaker says the hardest part of working on her own was having to work tirelessly to make sure everything was “100 per cent” perfect.
She explained: “The biggest challenge I think, honestly, the workload, because I’m such a perfectionist and I want everything to be right and I stress over every little detail – it all requires 100 per cent.”
Camila says that working on her record also meant she was able to process any feelings of “hurt” she has felt, which up until now she’d been keeping to herself.
She explained: “I think I was just avoiding talking about the hurt that I was feeling and I didn’t want to come to terms with it, and I feel like writing is such an intimate process, I mean at least for me, there’s no way I could write about stuff without going through it at the time or feeling a certain way about it at the time – it leads to a lot of self-discovery because you’re asking yourself questions, like how do I feel today? How do I feel about this?”

David Bowie’s billionth stream

OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie’s music has been streamed over a billion times.
The late ‘Starman’ hitmaker – who tragically passed away following a secret battle with cancer in January 2016 – reached the milestone last week with his 1977’s ‘Heroes’ being his number one song played on Spotify.
The track is joined by the likes of ‘Let’s Dance’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Life On Mars’ in Bowie’s top 10 most-streamed singles from his career spanning more than five decades.
Other tracks making big waves on the streaming service are ‘Fame’, ‘The Man Who Sold The World’, ‘China Girl’, ‘Oh! You Pretty Things’, ‘Sound & Vision’, ‘Where Are We Now?’, ‘This Is Not America’, ‘Ashes To Ashes’ and ‘Young Americans’.
The music legend – a man way before his time – predicted himself in 2002 that the music business and how we hear consume songs would change within the next decade and become like “running water”.
At the time, he said: ”The absolute transformation of everything that we ever thought about music will take place within 10 years, and nothing is going to be able to stop it. Music itself is going to become like running water or electricity.”
‘Heroes’ – which is a universal anthem having been recorded in English, French and German – celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and is part of a new boxset ‘A New Career In A New Town 1977-1982’, which will be released on Parlophone Records on September 29.
There will also be a limited edition picture disc for ‘Heroes’ available to purchase on September 22.
Bowie’s top 10 most-streamed solo tracks of all time are as follows:
‘Heroes’
‘Let’s Dance’
‘Space Oddity’
‘Life On Mars’
‘Starman’
‘Rebel Rebel’
‘Moonage Daydream’
‘Changes’
‘Ziggy Stardust’
‘Modern Love’

The Killers’ Dave Keuning quits touring

OHMYGOSSIP — The Killers’ Dave Keuning is taking a break from touring.
The 41-year-old guitarist – who has one child, 12-year-old son Kyler – has decided to step down from the ‘Run’ group’s forthcoming shows to spend more time with his family, a decision fully supported by the rest of the band.
Frontman Brandon Flowers, 36, has reassured fans that they will not be performing as a two-piece, himself and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr., and that long-term touring members Jake Blanton and Ted Sablay are to takeover from Dave and bass player Mark Stoermer, who quit in 2016, respectively.
In a statement on Twitter, they said: “Despite conjecture, The Killers are the same four weirdos we’ve always been.
“And worry not, we will not be performing as a two piece. As our fans have seen, the live line-up has grown over the years. Both Ted and Jake have been in the mix for a very long time (since Sam’s Town and Battle Born). Hell, we even have 3 background singers now!
“As Dave announced to Q Magazine, he will be taking a break from touring to spend time with his family. We respect his decision, just as we respected Mark’s decision to go back to college. (sic)”
Mark decided to part ways with the band in order to focus on a degree in art history, but he still records solo music.
Speaking about his decision to leave, he said previously: “I get joy out of making music with The Killers, but being on the road and in the studio was too much.”
The ‘Somebody Told Me’ hitmakers have announced their first UK live show with their new setup, which will take place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on September 12.
The intimate setting will allow fans to hear songs from their new record ‘Wonderful Wonderful’, which is released 10 days after on September 22.

Taylor Swift’s music video breaks YouTube record

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift’s new music video has broken a YouTube record for most views in its first 24 hours.
The 27-year-old star’s official clip for new single ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ racked up 39 million views by Monday evening (28.08.17) following its Sunday night (27.08.17) release on the video-sharing site, breaking the previous record set by Adele’s ‘Hello’ in 2015 with 27.7 million first day views.
Prior to the release of the official video, a lyric video was posted on YouTube which attracted 19 million views in its first 24 hours.
The official clip now has now been watched more than 46.8 million times and has been liked over two million times, but disliked over a quarter of a million.
Taylor unveiled the video at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, and the footage appears to poke fun at her ex Tom Hiddleston and rivals Kim Kardashian West and Katy Perry.
In one scene a number of male dancers are seen wearing crop tops with ‘I [heart] TS’ emblazoned on, a clear reference to the vest top with the same slogan which Tom was photographed in during their brief fling.
Taylor was also seen sitting in a bath of jewels during the video, which some believe could be a reference to Kim’s terrifying ordeal last year when armed robbers burst into the star’s Paris hotel room, tied her up and put her in the bathtub while they took off with millions worth of jewels.
The blonde beauty sings: “The role you made me play / Of the fool, no, I don’t like you / I don’t like your perfect crime.”
At the end of the video several versions of Taylor, each played by the pop star herself, are in conversation with one another as she pokes fun at herself.
One says: “You are so fake. There she goes playing the victim again,” and another says: “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.”
‘Look What You Made Me Do’ is the first single from the star’s sixth studio album ‘Reputation’, which will be released on November 10.

Fleetwood Mac won’t retire

OHMYGOSSIP — Mick Fleetwood insists Fleetwood Mac have no plans to retire.
The band is preparing for another tour next year and even though he recently turned 70, he doesn’t believe this will be the last big tour for Fleetwood Mac.
When asked if this will be the final tour, he told Rolling Stone: “No. I don’t know where that is coming from. In my mind, it’s not, and everyone in the band has decided that it’s not. But we thought we were finished 30 years ago. And so it’s a Rolling Stones model. I don’t know if morbid is the correct word here, but when everyone is in their seventies and you think about five years from now … You know, at some point I wish I’d seen Frank Sinatra. And I didn’t. And lo and behold, one day Frank’s dead. Phil Collins is calling his tour ‘Not Dead Yet’. Well, we’re not dead yet, but god forbid, we might be, so you could be like, ‘I better go and see them!’ But you will not see a poster saying this is our farewell tour that I could dream of.”
And Mick has already been planning the setlist with Stevie Nicks.
He said: “I was in Italy recently and met Stevie out there. Actually, she was in Capri and I was close to there. She said to me, ‘Let’s sit down and really listen to some stuff that sort of almost got forgotten.’ So I know she’s already thinking she wants to do some things we haven’t done in years. I always think that Stevie and Lindsey [Buckingham] should do a Buckingham Nicks song in the set. And have Christine [McVie] should do a blues song. I hope it certainly won’t be the same show as we did before. We always played nearly three hours, and we cut it back a little bit for the wear and tear, but we do over two hours. And when you got three singers, which is, like, three bands, really, to get that perfect set, it’s a trip.”

Brian Johnson joins Muse on Reading stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse topped off Reading Festival by bringing out AC/DC’s Brian Johnson for a cover of ‘Back in Black’ on Sunday night (27.08.17).
The weekend was full of surprise guest appearances, but the last day of the music extravaganza saw the biggest stars come all the way to the town in South England.
Grime star Giggs’ set on the main stage saw superstar rapper Drake turn up for a rendition of their track ‘KMT’.
However, as soon as Muse frontman Matt Bellamy declared Brian was “back”, the true highlight of the weekend began.
Getting to see the rock singer in action is a rare occasion these days as he was ordered by doctors to stop touring or face permanent hearing loss.
The 69-year-old singer was in great form at one of his first live appearances since he stepped back from the microphone.
At the end of the astounding cover of the classic 1980 song, Brian gave Matt a huge hug, and said: “Thank you so much, thank you boys.”
Muse wowed Reading performing over 20 songs from their back catalogue, opening with new song ‘Dig Down’ and closing with 2013’s ‘Knights Of Cydonia’.
Prior to Muse, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher took to the stage indulging himself in songs from his forthcoming debut solo album ‘As You Were’.
He swaggered his way through ‘Greedy Soul’, ‘Bold’, ‘ For What It’s Worth’, ‘You Better Run’, and lead single ‘Wall of Glass’, occasionally accompanied by a pair of maracas.
Before ‘Bold’, Liam joked: “No f***ing miming up here mate.”
The majority of the songs on the album are slow numbers, one of them being ‘Universal Gleam’, which the 44-year-old rocker restarted, saying: “They don’t like this one.”
Liam closed his set with what everyone wanted to hear; more Oasis songs in the form of ‘Be Here Now’ and a mass sing-a-long of ‘Wonderwall’.
Liam was noticeably quiet during the set, sipping from a bottle of water and not his usual beer, perhaps due to the fact he was told he wasn’t allowed to swear at Reading’s sister festival in Leeds earlier in the weekend.
However, he still entertained the audience with the odd joke.
When he saw a fan holding up a poster with “WhatsApp Rocky’ on it, referring to him calling rapper A$AP Rocky just that, Liam said it was his “finest moment”.
Other highlights of the final day were Mercury Prize-nominated indie rockers Blossoms who performed before their idol Liam came on.
Their biggest songs, ‘Honey Sweet’, ‘This Moment’ and ‘Charlemagne’, were received well, with every word sung right back at them.
Other acts who took the main stage by storm were metal band Architects and festival openers The Xcerts who were a last-minute addition to the bill.
Jack Daniel’s kept festival-goers lubricated over the weekend with their range of Whiskey-based cocktails.
The Jack Rocks stage with This Feeling put on a stellar line-up of rising acts including The Spitfires, No Hot Ashes and Surge.

Fifth Harmony ‘shocked’ by MTV VMAs success

OHMYGOSSIP — Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui was shocked by the band winning the Best Pop Video prize at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (27.08.17).
The 21-year-old singer and her bandmates, Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei and Dinah Jane, won their fourth award since being crowned the Best New Artist in 2014 and Lauren was visibly moved by their latest success.
Taking to the stage at The Forum in Los Angeles to collect the band’s accolade for their single ‘Down’, the brunette beauty explained: “We are so honoured to be up here on this stage.
“I can’t believe we won another VMA! I’m a little bit in shock.”
Camila Cabello left the group in December 2016, which prompted speculation about the band’s long-term future.
And Ally admitted their latest success is particularly meaningful to the girls.
She said: “This is such a monumental moment for us right now. This is so special.
“I’m so glad we’re in this together. I had a vision for us, and I’m just so grateful for how far we’ve come. I love you guys with all my heart.”
Dinah, 20, was also emotional as she took to the mic, admitting: “This is honestly so unreal.”
The band’s success comes shortly after Dinah said their journey over the past year, including Camila’s departure, has helped them to develop as people.
She recently explained: “We’re super, super proud of this era that we’re stepping into and who we are individually.
“It’s just amazing, for me especially, to see everybody growing into women. And even for myself, I’ve discovered who I am as a person, as a woman, as a daughter. So that [in] itself, I’m excited for everyone to see that and believe that.”

Drake flew ‘seven hours’ to perform with Giggs at Reading festival

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake flew “seven hours” to perform with Giggs at this year’s Reading Festival.
The 30-year-old singer and songwriter jetted all the way to the UK to make a surprise appearance at the annual music extravaganza on Sunday (27.08.17), and stunned crowds when he joined the ‘Lock Doh’ hitmaker on the main stage to belt out his hit track ‘KMT’, which features Giggs.
Giggs – whose real name is Nathaniel Thomson – revealed he has “only” ever wanted to entertain his fans at Reading festival, and was proud to introduce his “friend” during his set.
As he introduced the Canadian hunk – whose full name is Aubrey Graham – Giggs said: “Reading’s the only festival that wanted to book me. They’ve always showed me mad love. I want to bring one of my friends out. He’s travelled a long way.”
And when the dark-haired heartthrob appeared from the wings of the stage, he said: “I came all this way, seven hours, to have this motherfucking party with you.
“I want to see everybody go crazy, Reading.”
During the performance of the track from Drake’s ‘More Life’ Giggs stopped rapping briefly before he reloaded the record because he wanted to ensure the duo did the song justice.
The 34-year-old rapper said: “This doesn’t happen every day. We’ve got to do this right. We’ve got to do this properly.”
“I want to see the moshpit gang.”
Drake added: “I want to see all the circles right now.”
However, the ‘One Dance’ hitmaker did not want to steal all of the attention from Giggs and soon exited the platform to allow the fellow musician to continue with his set.
As he left the stage, Drake said: “Reading, I go by the name of Drake. I appreciate you, but today is not about me so please make some noise for this legendary god right here. He goes by the name of holler man Giggs.”
Giggs continued to wow crowds with ‘Look What The Cat Dragged In’, ‘Talking The Hardest’ and ‘Whippin’ Excursion’, whilst earlier in the day he performed ‘Man Don’t Care’, ‘3 Wheel Ups’ and his 2016 it track from his ‘Landlord’ LP titled ‘Lock Doh’.

Shawn Mendes wrote song about fictional girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Mendes wrote ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ about a fictional character he “fell in love” with.
The 19-year-old star has revealed his hit song was inspired by a female character in a movie script, which he read when he was auditioning for a part.
Speaking about his hit track, he told MTV News: “I wrote the song actually about a girl in a movie script that I read. I was going to act in a movie and I fell in love with the girl character, and so I wrote a song about her. I mean, it’d be cool if it was a real girl.”
It comes after the ‘Treat You Better’ hitmaker teased he was working on new music.
He shared: “I’ve been listening to some old school rockers; I’ve listened to a lot of Michael Jackson, and just [am] trying to explore a little bit. I think the album is gonna be not just one particular thing – it’s gonna be a kind of exploration of music …
“We’re trying to plan everything so that there’s time to make music, too. I’ll be writing and recording a lot on the road. I want to make sure I have a good amount of time to create the next album. I think if you’re creating music and you love the song, holding it back is just doing it an injustice. Sometimes when the song is right for that time period it’s just kinda bad to let it wait and then when you do release it eight months down the road, it’s not the same.”
