Zayn Malik will tour second album

OHMYGOSSIP — Zayn Malik insists a tour is “definitely on the cards” for his second album.
The 24-year-old musician didn’t head out on the road in promotion of his debut solo record ‘Mind of Mine’ in 2016, but now he has more material under his belt with a new album on the way, the former One Direction star is “excited to start rehearsing” his live show.
When asked what happened to touring plans for his first album, Zayn said: “We did a few auditions for the band, and we got a band together, but I just wasn’t feeling it. The first record, I didn’t feel like there was enough material to do a proper show. So I just waved it off until the second album, so I can get the best of both. I think my confidence is definitely improved now, so a tour is definitely on the cards. I’m excited to start rehearsing.”
The ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ singer was scheduled to perform a few shows last year, including Capital’s Summertime Ball in London, which were cancelled after he suffered with crippling anxiety which prevented him from appearing on stage.
Zayn has been keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to his second album and hasn’t revealed details of a title or release date, but has admitted he’s “kind of finalised it”.
He said: “This record, I’ve kind of finalised it. But there’s always ideas. Every day I find another song that I’m swapping out with another one. That’s why the album date hasn’t really come yet. Even though the album is pretty much there, and I have the material, I’m still changing things here and there. It’s not necessary in my head when I work on a song whether it’s for a new project or whether it’s for this.”
And although he won’t reveal a firm date, he believes it should be released in the “next couple months”.
He told Fader magazine: “I’m looking for pretty soon, man, next couple months. I don’t know. That’s the beauty of the word ‘soon’ — it’s open to interpretation. The pressure is on from the management, but I’m taking my time with it.”

Sam Smith: My album is ‘so personal’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith’s upcoming album is “so personal”.
The 25-year-old singer – who dropped his new single ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ on Friday (08.09.17) – is gearing up for the release of his second studio venture later this year, and has said that his nerves surrounding the release are down to how emotionally charged the songs are.
Asked why he’s nervous to drop the album – which is the follow-up to 2014’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ – Sam said: “Do you know what? It’s because the music is so personal. And more than ever with this album and this song, it’s like I’m publishing my diary. That’s how it feels. It’s more personal, this record, as album, than the first one.”
The ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ hitmaker didn’t intend to make his album so emotional, but says he writes from personal experiences and happened to have “a deep few years” whilst penning the record.
When asked if he meant to be so personal, he said: “It’s just something that happens. It’s whatever happens in my life, you know? And it was quite a deep few years.”
Sam hopes people won’t ask too may questions about the content of his songs though, as he thinks being “really personal” means all the information is in the lyrics.
He said: “My views on that is I feel that if I’m being really personal then hopefully I won’t have to say anything other than that. You’ve just got to listen to the music.”
And the ‘Stay With Me’ singer won’ be telling people if a song on the album is about them, as he doesn’t want to “give them the air time”.
When asked by Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1 if the people he writes about know a song is about them, Sam said: “Do you know what? First album, it was different because it was about one person. This album, each song is about someone … not someone different, but like four or five songs are about one guy, and then there’s other songs about different people in my life, not actually about me. But no, I won’t be telling the person who it’s about. I don’t want to give them the air time, really.”

Nadine Coyle returns with dance track Go To Work

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadine Coyle has dropped her feisty new comeback single ‘Go To Work’.
The former Girls Aloud star released the dance track, which she worked on with her old group’s songwriter Brian Higgins, on Friday (08.09.17) and has revealed the meaning behind the track is all about kicking your partner into shape.
She explained: “When you’re constantly writing you write a lot about relationships and so it was like ‘what else annoys you about being in relationships?’ and they came up with this idea of writing about them being lazy and not getting up in the mornings.”
Nadine says it was important that the song – her first music since 2010 debut solo album ‘Insatiable’ – didn’t sound anything like Girls Aloud as she wanted a brand new start.
She said: “We weren’t trying to make it sound like Girls Aloud, we weren’t trying to make it sound the opposite, it was just a blank canvas. It’s exciting.”
The 32-year-old Irish beauty – who has three-year-old daughter Anaíya with her partner Jason Bell – believes her new single is different from the usual lovey-dovey or heartbreak tracks people pen.
She said recently: “The first single is basically was written because there’s so many love songs like either I love you so much or you broke my heart or this was none of those things whatsoever, this was what else is a thing that people do to get on your nerves.
“They don’t get up out of bed, they don’t want to get up, they don’t want to do anything for you, they just want to sit there and do nothing, – so this is a song about that being annoying.
“Why don’t you go to work, why don’t you just do it, what is wrong with you, go do it, I’m sick of looking at you and dealing with you – that’s what its about.”
And Nadine says she’s thrilled to be back making music and can’t thank her fans and support network enough.
She recently explained: “I feel excited because it’s one of those really odd things where it’s so out there, like oh my god, you shoot a video, you do photo shoots, you do all these things, it’s such an exciting job. I’m really really happy to be back and I’m really happy to be here and I’m really happy to have all the people here and have these opportunities.”

Steve Aoki releases Linkin Park remix in Chester Bennington’s honour

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Aoki has released a remix of his two songs with Linkin Park called ‘Darker Than The Light That Never Bleeds’ in memory of Chester Bennington.
The EDM superstar is still feeling “shattered” after the US rock band’s frontman tragically died of suicide in July at the age of 41, and in his honour he has combined the two tracks he did with them in 2015, ‘Darker Than Blood’ and ‘The Light That Never Comes’.
Announcing the remix on Twitter, he wrote: “I feel so incredibly honored to not only have worked with him on these two songs, but am so deeply touched to have gotten to know him as a friend. (sic)”
All money made from the single will go to Music For Relief’s One More Light fund, the charity co-founded by Chester and the members of Linkin Park.
The ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker has also posted a lengthy note about in tribute to his close friend hailing him a “beautiful human being” who helped many others suffering from pain to express their emotions.
Steve also asked for fans of the ‘Numb’ singer to carry on belting out Chester’s lyrics “f***ing loud”.
He added to Instagram: “I’m still shattered by this tragic loss. It’s hard to realize that he is not coming back. Chester was such an invaluable human being that bled out the pain and passion through Linkin Park, touching so many peoples lives.
“He helped so many people that have felt these similar feelings around the world scream out and feel like they are not alone. Life can be incredibly trying and tough. Nothing can bring more consolation than knowing that there are others going through this same pain.
“Chester was such a beautiful human being. I will never forget our conversations and moments shared together in the studio, on the stage, and in life. We now have Chester in our hearts and minds forever.
“Keep his inspiration and passion alive and play Linkin Park f**king loud. Scream the lyrics f**king loud. Live in these moments f**king loud. I miss you dear friend. You are in our hearts and minds forever. Chester Forever. (sic)”

Mollie King wants to do more music with The Saturdays

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie King hopes to record more music with The Saturdays in the future.
The 30-year-old beauty says the girls – Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Una Healy and Vanessa White – are all busy working on their solo projects now, but she hasn’t ruled out the chances of them reuniting and getting into the studio again.
Asked during a BUILD session if they will release a single, she said: “I hope so. I would love there to be. Yeah. I think it would be a couple of years because everyone is really busy doing their own thing, but I would love there to be.”
“It is definitely something that we’d liked to do (on getting back together).”
The ‘All Fired Up’ hitmakers have been on hiatus since 2015, but there are still no plans for them to reunite, and they will only do so when they are all on board.
Mollie said recently: “It would need to be all five of us. You never know what’s going to happen, so watch this space.
“It would be fun to do in a couple of years’ time.”
Since going on hiatus, Mollie, Vanessa and Una have all launched solo careers, while Rochelle has moved into presenting and Frankie enjoyed a stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
But Mollie insists there is no competition between them and they are all supportive of one another.
Asked if things are competitive, she said: “Oh God no, not at all. We’re all so supportive of each other. We’ve been through so much with one another.
“Me and the girls are still very much a band, so we haven’t split up or anything. It’s just about supporting each other on our different journeys and it’s so nice to be close to them.”
Mollie recently released her second solo single ‘Hair Down’, the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Back to You’.

Gary Numan credits Asperger’s Syndrome to success

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Numan says he owes his success to Asperger’s Syndrome.
The ‘Friends Electric’ hitmaker has suffered with the form of autism – which affects his social skills – for the most part of his life, and while some people may find it debilitating it has actually helped him with his drive and creativity.
The 59-year-old electronic music pioneer is also thankful to his wife Gemma and their children – daughters Raven, Persia, and Echo – for understanding the condition and for helping him get to where he is now.
He said: “I’ve always known I’ve been different but I’ve always seen it as an advantage. I can’t chitchat to people out in the street — I’m not very good at social situations — but I have phenomenal focus, drive and obsession. Asperger’s is a golden glove. And having Gemma and my family giving me support has been massively important. Gemma understands Asperger’s really well.
“I see no shame in what I go through and no reason to be closed about it. I wrote an entire album about this, it’s hardly keeping it a secret.”
The ‘Cars’ singer has been working on a novel for some time, which has been the inspiration for a lot of the songs on his new record ‘Savage’.
And he’ll spend next year touring the record and hopefully getting his head around his “futuristic” tome, though he admits he’s put himself under a lot of “pressure” now he’s spoken about it.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve had my ups and downs but things are going well for me.
“I will be touring this album to the end of 2018 then that’d be a good time to start the next one. Then maybe I’ll get this book finished.
“I need to finish it as it feels like a cop out that I’ve not been able to turn it into a cohesive story yet — even though the album is really that.
“I talk about it so much that I have given myself so much pressure. I want it to be a broad epic.
“For now I will just concentrate on this album as I am proud of what I’ve achieved.”
‘Savage’ follows 2013’s ‘Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind)’ and is released on September 15.

Sam Smith feels ‘physically sick’ ahead of the release of his comeback single

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith feels “physically sick” ahead of the release of his comeback single ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ on Friday (08.09.17).
The 25-year-old singer is set to launch his new single this week and the star has revealed his return to the music industry with a new track is “very intense” and is a “weird experience”, although he is “so excited to be back” making songs.
Speaking in an Instagram Story, which remains on the photo-sharing site for 24 hours, the artist said: “Hello guys this is my first Instagram Live video
“I am sitting in a hotel room with a really weird picture behind me. My friends and my family have just left and it is probably five or six hours until I release ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’.
“I feel physically sick, this is very intense.
“It is a weird experience, I’m so excited to be back.
“This is helping my nerves a little bit, just sitting here talking with you all. It’s going to be mad tomorrow. What I am feeling weird about now is the pace. Tomorrow is going to be the start of it and it all getting faster. I’m just trying to mentally prepare myself.”
And the ‘Lay Me Down’ hitmaker is grateful for his supporters who have stayed loyal to him despite him going on a hiatus.
He continued: “Thank you so much for sticking around it means the world thank you.
“Thank you for giving me time to write I promise it was worth the wait.”
The British musician insists that during the last two years he has been travelling, but has also been “working hard” on his new music and not “running around drinking and partying”.
He explained: “I’ve been here in London for the last year. I’ve been travelling a bit. I have been working hard, I haven’t just been running around drinking and partying. I can’t wait for you to hear the music.”
Sam has revealed he is set to release his album later this year, which features 14 tracks, but he wants to ease his supporters into his creation and thinks ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ is the perfect song for his fans to hear first.
He explained: “The song tomorrow, well in six hours, is called ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’ and I personally think it is the right thing for you to hear first. Just to ease you into the stories I’m about to tell.
“But I cant wait for you to hear the album … it’s way more personal than the first. There’s going to be 14 [songs] in total. ”
And Sam has teased he will be revealing more exciting news on social media in due course.
He said: “Keep your eyes on my Twitter and Instagram in the next few days, there will be more announcements. ”

Bono thinks Liam Gallagher is ‘incredible’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono still thinks Liam Gallagher is “incredible” despite him calling U2 a “bunch of beige f***s”.
The ‘Vertigo’ hitmaker has nothing but kind words to say about the former Oasis frontman, although the same can not be said about Liam, 44, who previously referred to the Irish rock band’s music as “toff rock”.
However, when it comes to Liam’s tumultuous relationship with his brother and bitter rival Noel Gallagher, the 57-year-old singer doesn’t think anyone would be able to help them make peace.
Speaking to Andy Bush on Absolute Radio, Bono said: “I think there’s more chance of sorting out the Middle East than mediating between the Gallagher brothers … but they’re incredible.
“They are both part of oasis. And Liam and Noel are incredible.”
Noel was the main support act for U2 for their special tour marking the 30th anniversary of ‘The Joshua Tree’ album, and Bono has heaped praise on the 50-year-old guitarist comparing him to music legends Sir Paul McCartney and The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson.
He said: “Noel Gallagher – He’s an extraordinary force. You forget because he’s so understated. This is one of the greats, this is like Brian Wilson, or, this is like Paul McCartney, or just like Ray Davies. He’s right up there. And having him around is fun too and we get in to similar trouble. He’s very Irish really.”
Rock ‘n’ roll star Liam’s dislike of Bono and co’s music seems to have increased ever since his estranged bandmate Noel became their support act for the tour in support of their seminal 1987 fifth studio LP.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if he would be heading to Twickenham Stadium in London in July to watch U2 and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in action, Liam launched into one of his trademark tirades.
The fan tweeted: “Are you going to see U2 at the weekend? If you are, catch the support act, I’m hearing good things about them.”
To which Liam replied: “I’d rather eat my own s**t than listen to them bunch of beige f***s as you were.”
Feeling pleased with his online put downs, Liam tweeted: “It’s good to be back never went away you clowns just got the tools now to shine a light on you FAKES (sic)”
Ending his angry tweet spree, Liam posted: “Not scared of bingo and his naff band you can’t bull shit a bullsh*tter ain’t that the edge … Beware of bongos farts ha ha (sic)”
Noel was announced back in January as the opening act, and even back then the news didn’t sit well with Liam who accused his sibling – whom he has barely spoken to since Noel quit Oasis in 2009 – of “brown nosing” Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. to get the gig.
Logging onto Twitter, he wrote: “I see all that brown nosing is finally starting to pay off NO SHAME LG x (sic)”

Nile Rodgers had ‘mixed feelings’ about remixing George Michael’s Fantasy

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers had “mixed feelings” about remixing George Michael’s song ‘Fantasy’.
The Chic legend couldn’t sleep last night ahead of the track’s first play on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday morning (07.09.17) because he was nervous to hear what the late ‘Careless Whisper’ hitmaker’s fans would make of the new funk version of the 1990 B-side.
However, the ‘Le Freak’ star said that he made sure to approach the recording with as much “love and happiness” as possible and said it was a “very emotional” experience.
Taking to Twitter to reply to a fan who said they had mixed feelings, Nile wrote back: “You SHOULD have mixed feelings. No one’s heart was dragged through emotional ambiguity more than mine. Tears, uncertainty, happiness & #LOVE (sic)”
Sharing his nerves late last night, the 64-year-old musician said: “I’m on pins and needles. I won’t be able to sleep tonight. (what else is new?) I’ll work until the reports start coming in. Love Nile. (sic)”
The updated song now hones into George’s soft harmonies and has a much slicker production.
Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans read out a letter from George’s manager David Austin on his show this morning, which revealed the track was intended to be released as a single on the late entertainer’s second solo studio album ‘Listen Without Prejudice’.
He said: “‘Fantasy’ was originally meant to be on ‘Listen Without Prejudice’ and was intended to be one of the singles from the album, but somehow it got lost in the ether.”
Before his death, George, who sadly passed away on Christmas Day (25.12.16) at the age of 53, got in touch with Nile about working on freshening up the song.
He added: “George phoned up Nile Rodgers, his good pal, in early 2016 because the two of them have always spoken the same musical language, and Nile has reworked the record.”
It comes after George’s sisters Melanie and Yioda gave an update to his fans and revealed they plan to continue his legacy through “his extraordinarily beautiful music”.

Fergie explains stepping back from The Black Eyed Peas

OHMYGOSSIP — Fergie needed to step away from The Black Eyed Peas to make an album about her own experiences.
The 42-year-old singer didn’t think it was appropriate to pour her heart into a record about her own personal life with the ‘Where is The Love?’ group because she feels that would be a selfish thing to do.
She said: “I have lived so much and I needed somewhere to put all of my life experiences. I don’t feel like it is fair to go on a Peas record and be like, ‘Let me bust out my journals and make this all about me’.
“I don’t know it’s too selfish for me, so I just needed to let it all out.”
The ‘MILF$’ singer is gearing up to release her much-awaited second studio album ‘Double Dutchess’ on September 22, and the busty blonde beauty can’t wait to share her “soul” record with her fans.
However, she said she’s not done with the group – comprised of will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap – and hopes to make more music with them in the future.
She told SiriusXM: “I’ve always just been the little sis and part of groups and like that and I got to have a moment with ‘The Dutchess’ and such and amazing four albums with The Peas and hopefully more.
“I’ve always been a kind of misfit that didn’t really fit in any particular character perfectly, so it’s just a mishmash, but when you put it all together it really makes sense if you know.
“So I’ve got to have a soul album and do whatever I feel is organic and not try to fit in some mould.”
Fergie teamed up with Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross on two tracks on the new record, ‘You Already Know’ and ‘Hungry’ respectively.
The song with superstar rapper Nicki was produced by Fergie’s Black Eyed Peas bandmate will.i.am.

Kelly Clarkson’s freedom record

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson’s new album is her “freedom” record.
The ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ hitmaker’s first studio album to be released after her ‘American Idol’ contract ended is titled ‘Meaning of Life’ and will be released on Atlantic Records on October 27.
Kelly – who left RCA after 14 years in June to sign with Atlantic – says she “cried” when she realised she would be able to make all the decisions for the first time about how she works with on the record.
In a Facebook Live, she said: “The inspiration behind my new album is, well, I’m free!
“It’s my first album to make outside my contract from ‘Idol’, so, you know, I got to actually pick who I’m working with.
“I didn’t know it could be like this. I literally just cried a lot before, so it’s really fun, and it’s cool, 15 years later, to get to experience this.”
The 34-year-old singer previously teased fans that the style of her upcoming album will “definitely” be different, and she finds it odd that nobody knows her sound despite her being on the scene for 14 years.
She said: “We’re still working on it, but we have a good batch of songs already and I can’t wait to sing them live.
“They’re amazing. After having a career for so long, it’s so weird that nobody knows [my sound] yet, so it’s going to be so good. It’s definitely a different chapter.”
Kelly has taken inspiration from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Tina Turner for the record and admits fans who watched her on the talent show will make a comparison to then and her new music.
She said: “It’s very much my personality. I think it’s very much what people expected from me off of watching me on ‘Idol’.
“I sang all these Aretha things, I love Tina, I love Mariah, I love Whitney. I think it’s very much what people expected in the first place.
“I love all my stuff that I’ve done but this is the record that has been in me since junior high. And that music from when I was in junior high is now coming back [into style] – like our 15-year-old listens to R&B that I listened to in high school.”

Jay Z’s mother inspired his song ‘Smile’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay Z’s mother’s sexuality inspired his song ‘Smile’.
The 47-year-old rapper’s parent, Gloria Carter, has admitted when she “finally” told her son she was a lesbian her child broke down in tears thinking about the double life she has been forced to lead, and influenced some of the material in his 13th studio album ‘4:44’.
Speaking to ‘D’USSE Friday’ Podcast about the single, which features the lyrics “Mama had four kids, but she’s a lesbian/ Had to pretend so long that she’s a thespian”, Gloria said: “I just finally started telling (Jay) who I was.
“Besides your mother, this is the person that I am. This is the life that I live. So my son started actually tearing. Because he’s like, ‘That had to be a horrible life, Ma’. I was like, ‘My life was never horrible. It was just different.’ So that made him want to do a song about it.”
Although Gloria has kept her sexuality a secret for a number of years, she has claimed she has “never” been “ashamed” of opening up about her love life it was just not a topic that was discussed in her family.
She explained: “I was never ashamed of me. In my family, it was something that was never discussed.”
But Gloria was “tired of all the mystery” and decided to open up about this part of her life through the track, which also features a poem the matriarch penned and recited to the ’99 Problems’ hitmaker – whose real name is Shawn Carter – on her mobile.
She continued: “I’m tired of all the mystery. I’m going to give it to them.”
Now Gloria has publicly opened up about her love life she no longer has to “worry” about other people’s opinions on her.
She said: “I don’t have to worry about anybody wondering if I’m in the life or not, I’m going to tell them. So now that I told you, what do you have to talk about? So now maybe you can focus on the phenomenal things I do, so focus on that…Now it’s time for me to be free.”
