Matt Healy hints at new The 1975 EP

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Healy has hinted The 1975 will release another EP before next year’s third album.
The British rockers – who are also made up of Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel – recently confirmed they will drop a third studio album, ‘Music for Cars’, next year, and the frontman has teased fans another EP could also be on the cards.
He tweeted: “Okay – one more EP (sic)”
Matt then shared what appears to be the name of the group’s new record.
He wrote: “What A Shame – The EP (sic)”
It comes after he recently confirmed the group’s new album would be called ‘Music For Cars’, sharing the name with their third EP which dropped in 2013.
Speaking earlier this year, Matt said: “‘Music For Cars’ was an EP named for our love for Brian Eno.
“We’re using it as the album title now because of how meta and self-referential everything has become in the world of The 1975, and ‘Music For Cars’ was always my favourite title of everything we’d ever done, so it kinda made sense to wrap it up that way.”
‘Music For Cars’ is expected to drop on June 1st after the ‘Chocolate’ hitmaker tweeted the date out recently, and also repeated it while the group were headlining Latitude in July.
In August, the 28-year-old frontman confirmed the group’s third album will feature a song called ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’.
He shared the start of the album’s playlist on Instagram and captioned the post: “The need to start editing.”
He wrote: “1st June – The 1975”

Taylor Swift’s new track best enjoyed on a night-time walk

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Call It What You Want’ was designed to be listened to “at night on a walk”, according to producer Jack Antonoff.
The 27-year-old singer released the fourth single from her upcoming LP ‘Reputation’ on Friday (03.11.17), and at the weekend, the producer and songwriter – who has worked with Taylor on a number of occasions – behind the song took to social media to share some insight into the track.
On Twitter, Jack, 33, wrote: “honored to have call it what you want out in the world. that song means a great deal to me.
“made with an MPC, live kick, dx7 strings and samples of taylor’s voice as the intro and throughout. love making her voice into an instrument
“pls listen on headphones at night on a walk (sic)”
It isn’t the first time Jack has worked on one of the tracks from ‘Reputation’, as he previously lent a hand for the album’s lead single ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.
Jack also collaborated with Taylor for ‘Out of the Woods’, ‘I Wish You Would’, and ‘You Are In Love’, which all feature on her 2014 album ‘1989’, as well as being the co-writer on Taylor’s duet with Zayn Malik, ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’.
Meanwhile, Taylor previously took to Twitter in the hours before ‘Call It What You Want’ was released to tease some of the song’s lyrics.
She shared a picture with the words: “Holding my breath/ Slowly I said/ You Don’t Need To Save Me … But would you run away with me? … Yes.”
And she then captioned the post: “Call It What You Want. Midnight Eastern. (sic)”
So far, Taylor has also released the tracks ‘Ready For It?’ and ‘Gorgeous’ from her sixth studio LP, which is due to hit shelves on Friday (10.11.17).

Kelly Jones considered quitting

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Jones considered quitting music after the death of one of his idols.
The Stereophonics frontman was left devastated by the recent passing of Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie, who had brain cancer, and he admitted it made him question his own future, something he’s been doing since a terrorist attack at an Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris in 2015.
The 43-year-old star – who has daughters Bootsy and Misty from a past relationship and Riley, 20 months, with wife Jakki Healey – said: “Without Gord I doubt I’d have come out with most of the songs I’ve written, especially the earlier ones.
“As a performer he was poetry and anarchy all wrapped up in one, and there aren’t many who can pull that off.
“In fact, I was talking about this just the other night with Jakki and remembered the time, in ’97, when we played a club gig in Toronto – Gord walked backstage with a selection of his favourite books in a brown paper bag for me to read.
“He’d heard we liked his band and just wanted to say hello and share with me some of the stuff that had a big effect on him. That’s the kind of bloke he was.
“After what happened at the Bataclan, especially – I just thought, ‘Do I really want to be doing all this – spending my time travelling, being away from home?’
“What is more, Gord’s death left me wondering – here was a bloke with a huge musical legacy and so many achievements, yet what was it all for?
“Because, at the end of the day, he had a bunch of kids who’ve now been left without a dad.
“So I questioned whether it’s worth putting myself through all that, on top of dealing with the confusion and noise that bombards us all every day.”
But the ‘Bartender and the Thief’ hitmaker has vowed to focus on the positives and not live in fear in order to be a positive role model for his kids.
He added to the Western Mail’s Weekend magazine: “But then I realised I can’t control the men with the guns and all the s**t that happens in the world, and I tried to tell myself that, yes, despite all the anxiety and the fear, hope and innocence do still exist.
“As a result I struggle hard to show my girls a much more positive outlook than the one I was raised with.
“Because when I was growing up there weren’t that many doors of opportunity open to us and the overall consensus was ‘you have to make do with what you’ve got’.
“Not that my family weren’t supportive of what I wanted to do, it’s just there were a lot of negatives to overcome in order to get a crack at your dreams.
“And it’s still like that for a lot of people – that’s why my kids are my number priority and, together, we just sort of keep each other grounded and focused.”

Pink was nicknamed after ‘pink’ vagina

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink took her stage name from her own vagina.
The ‘What About Us’ singer – whose real name is Alecia Moore -famously took her nickname from Steve Buscemi’s character Mr. Pink in ‘Reservoir Dogs’ but has admitted the origin of why that became her moniker is very raunchy.
Asked if people complained about the reference to Quentin Tarantino’s violent movie, she said: “I’ve been receiving complaints for a very long time. I’m OK with it and for the other reason my name is Pink. That’s inappropriate too.
“My best friend had never seen a white girl’s vagina before so he asked me if I could see it, so I showed it to him and he said ‘It’s pink!’ Then my friends started calling me Mr. Pink.”
The 38-year-old star – who has children Willow, six, and nine-month-old son Jameson with her husband Carey Hart – ran into her big screen namesake shortly before the release of her first album, ‘Can’t Take Me Home’, in 2000 and left him “scared s**tless”.
She recalled: “I actually ran into Steve Buscemi on the street in New York before my first album came out. I had these big f***ing Elton John sunglasses on, pink hair and carried a Pink Panther toy.
“I went, ‘Steve! Mr. Pink! I’m Pink! Because of you! I’m going to have an album and you’re going to know who I am.’ And he was like, ‘What the f**k lady?’ and just ran away from me.
“I’ve never met him since. He was scared s**tless of me. Sorry Steve!”
Pink also confessed to once getting caught having sex in a car by her then-boyfriend’s mother.
Asked the worst thing she’s done in front of her boyfriends’ parents, she told Q magazine: “Maybe getting caught having sex in the car. I’d met his mum before but she didn’t know her son was having sex at this point.”

The Vaccines to perform at London’s Alexandra Palace

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vaccines are set to perform at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace.
The ‘If You Wanna’ hitmakers – who previously played at the entertainment venue –
are currently wrapping up writing their follow-up to 2015’s ‘English Graffiti’ and have announced a huge gig at the north London facility on April 14 next year.
The announcement comes just days after the band said they were still putting the final touches on their album but admitted it’s all about “sex and love”.
Asked what has been inspiring the lyrics, frontman Justin Hayward-Young: “Sex and love, and love lost. I really I became very self-aware a couple of years ago.
“I was insecure about the fact that all I sung about was sex and love. I realised its all I care about. So I’ve kind of come to terms with that.”
The band – also comprised of Freddie Cowan and Anri Arnason – have been working hard every day since their drummer Pete Robertson quit the group in June last year.
He said: “We’re really far along, that’s what we’re doing all day everyday at the moment. I mean we’re not recording it yet, but we’re writing a lot – and I mean we have a lot. There are a few songs we’re really excited about.”
Being in studio has brought Justin and his band mates Freddie Cowan and Anri Arnatson closer together as they felt with their last record they’d stopped being a band.
He added: “We’re in the studio every day playing together, so it feels a lot more like a band again, which maybe ‘English Graffiti’ stopped slightly. I guess it replenishes some of that spirit and that energy of the first record.”

Robert Plant says Elvis Presley was trapped by frame

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Plant has claimed Elvis Presley became “trapped” by the “ridiculousness” of fame.
The Led Zeppelin star met the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll – who died aged 42 in 1977 – and while he was very grounded at the time, he slowly became embroiled in the tougher side to life as a music icon.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Robert, 69, revealed: “I mean, I was lucky to meet Elvis at one point, and he was just such a charismatic, funny guy, able to take the p**s out of himself.
“He saw fame for what it was. But as time went on, he got so bored. He was so trapped. It’s so important to unhitch that ridiculousness.”
While the ‘Whole Lotta Love’ rocker is able to open up now about the perils of life in the spotlight, it certainly comes from his own experiences and mistakes over the years.
He added: “I’m quite often singing about my error. I just don’t quite ever get it right. But if I did, I’d probably be having a pipe and slippers and watching a box set of ‘The Office’, you know?”
Now, the veteran musician – who released his 11th solo album ‘Carry Fire’ last month – is able to reflect on the important things and not let himself get bogged down worrying about anything for too long.
He explained: “I’m carrying fire, because it hurts. I’m scarring other people and scarring myself. But no matter how much scarring I do, or how much I run from circumstance, Wolverhampton Wanderers are still at home to Millwall on Saturday, you know?
“And when I finish talking to you, I shall be heading to play five-a-side back home with my friends, until the defibrillator turns up. You’ve got to carry on.”

Emeli Sande releases Kingdom Coming EP

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sande has released her new EP ‘Kingdom Coming’.
The ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ hitmaker dropped the six-track mini album on Friday (03.11.17), and said she hopes the collection of songs would excite and inspire her fans.
The 30-year-old singer has collaborated with the likes of Giggs (‘Higher’), Dave East (‘Soon’), while she paired up with rapper Wretch 32 on the title track.
She said: “I invited some genius friends of mine to join me in the countryside to express themselves with no restrictions, and it’s been an honour to work with three of the world’s greatest in Giggs, Wretch 32 and Dave East.
“It was an intense week but an absolute dream! New sounds, new stories and a WHOLE LOT of heart! We pushed ourselves hard to reach new levels and I’m so proud of what we have created.
“I really hope you will enjoy the new sound exploration of this EP and that the lyrics will speak to you on a deep level.”
Last month, Emeli embarked on an arena tour across the UK – her biggest headline shows to date – including a night at London’s O2 Arena.
However, tonight (03.11.17) will see the musician in more intimate settings as she celebrates the EP release at the Curtain Club in the capital.
Meanwhile, Emeli previously discussed the change in style in her music, and explained it has been a very natural thing.
Opening up about new song ‘Starlight’, she said: “This is the world that my music career started in and it feels incredible to be releasing music that shows a new side of me.
“The song came so naturally and I really hope it makes people feel good, uplifted and free.”

2. Love Not War

Miguel announces new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Miguel will release his fourth album ‘War & Leisure’ on December 1.
The ‘All I Want Is You’ singer has revealed his latest record, with fans already able to pre-order the upcoming LP – the follow up to his 2015 effort ‘Wildheart’ – before it hits stores next month.
While the full tracklisting is yet to be revealed, the new record will feature his Travis Scott collaboration ‘Sky Walker’.
Also confirmed are ‘Come Out And Chill’ – which Miguel recently performed on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ – and brand new single ‘Told You So’, which was unveiled alongside a video directed by Karim Huu Do.
The 32-year-old singer has described the upcoming collection as his “most upbeat” to date, following on from the success of ‘Wildheart’, ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’ (2012) and 2010 debut ‘All I Want Is You’.
Meanwhile, Miguel – who has collaborated with Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar and Dua Lipa on tracks in the past – has admitted he is “pretty picky” about who he joins forces with to make music.
He explained recently: “I’m pretty picky. I don’t have a reason for why. I’ve only collaborated with a handful of people. I think I’m more open to collaborations now.”
And he’s also been very vocal about how annoying it is to constantly be compared to the late music legend Prince.
He said: “I think it’s obvious he’s a major influence but I think there’s also things about me that are uniquely mine that aren’t coming from his vibe. Being a reminder of Prince is a huge compliment. But no one will ever be that I don’t want to be that. It’s a bit of both, being flattered but like, ‘Hey, there’s more.’ Hopefully that’s enough to get you to listen more and go, ‘OK I see where he’s different.’ ”

Sigma rejected Ed Sheeran song

OHMYGOSSIP — Sigma turned down the chance to have a song written by Ed Sheeran.
The British drum and bass duo – comprised of Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie – were flattered that the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker sent over ideas for a song for them, but they decided against recording anything because the 26-year-old songwriter is already dominating the charts with tracks he’s written for other people.
The ‘Changing’ stars said: “We got sent one of his ideas recently that they were talking about us using but we have loads of other stuff of our own so we didn’t record it.
“There is just so much Ed stuff floating around at the moment in the mix and people are lapping it up.”
Although they didn’t take the flame-haired star up on the chance to work together this time, Joe says they are massive fans of his songwriting.
He told The Daily Star newspaper: “Ed is amazing. He is one of the best songwriters around. Everything he touches turns to magic.
“He is just a songwriting machine.”
Instead, the pair decided to team up with Quavo from hip-hop outfit Migos and Sebastian Kole – who has written for Jennifer Lopez and Alessia Cara – on their latest single ‘Forever’.
Meanwhile, the pair say the best way to get rid of any pre-show nerves is a shot of alcohol.
Asked what their pre-gig rituals are, Joe said: “We all do three shots of tequila and hope for the best! “That was a lie, but having a little drink definitely helps calms the nerves.
“However, it can interrupt the performance, so not too much alcohol! Otherwise you’d get used to it and end up going down a slippery slope. That would be terrible!”

Liam Gallagher dusts off Oasis’ Rockin’ Chair for BBC Radio 2 In Concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher sung Oasis’ ‘Rockin’ Chair’ live for the first time in 22 years at BBC Radio 2 In Concert last night (02.11.17)
The 45-year-old rocker played to an intimate crowd at the BBC Radio Theatre and treated the lucky few to the fan favourite – the B-side to their 1995 number two single ‘Roll With It’ – which is occasionally played by his estranged brother Noel Gallagher live.
The Britpop group rarely played the song, the last time was at the Leisure Centre in Gloucester, South West England in October 1995, the same year it came out.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker has slowly been introducing songs from the band’s back catalogue into his solo repertoire and played ‘Some Might Say’ for the fourth only time, whilst ‘Be Here Now’ and ‘Morning Glory’ have been included in virtually every setlist at his solo shows.
It’s anyone’s guess as to which Oasis classic he’s going to add next, but Liam previously teased that there is the slight chance he will play ‘Wonderwall’ B-Side ‘Round Are Way’, which was released in 1995 and featured in the 2003 movie ‘Camp’ as well as 1997 film ‘A Life Less Ordinary’, which starred Cameron Diaz and Ewan McGregor.
Speaking about the possibility of him including the track, he said: “Not sure. Some are hard to sing these days and I refuse to drop them a key ‘cos they end up grungy.”
The evening saw the group’s former frontman rightfully indulge in songs from his number one debut solo LP ‘As You Were’ with brass and a double bass on the melancholy ‘Universal Gleam’.
Liam Gallagher’s BBC Radio 2 In Concert setlist was as follows:
‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’
‘Morning Glory’
‘Greedy Soul’
‘Wall of Glass’
‘Bold’
‘For What’s It For Worth’
‘Rockin’ Chair’
‘Some Might Say’
‘You Better Run’
‘I’ve All I Need’
‘Universal Gleam’
‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’
‘Be Here Now’

Bastille’s Dan Smith co-wrote Tears For Fears song

OHMYGOSSIP — Tears For Fears’ new song ‘I Love You But I’m Lost’ was co-written by Dan Smith from Bastille.
The ‘The Hurting’ hitmakers – Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith – worked with the ‘Pompeii’ singer and his band’s producer Mark Crew on one of their pieces of music in 13 years, along with the single ‘Stay’ from the band’s Greatest Hits LP ‘Rule The World’, which is out on November 10.
Roland says the song was born out of him and Dan having a sing-off and competing to be the loudest.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the 56-year-old musician revealed: “We had two days with them and that was it, in a little windowless studio.
“Sometimes you go into these things and it’s like speed dating. It’s a very modern way of working.
“I think a guy we worked with in LA had Britney Spears in the day before.
“When we met Dan and Mark, they didn’t have another version of ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ prepared. They had something quite different and that was our starting point.
“And Dan is a singer so it was like a ‘who could be the loudest in the room competition’ between us both and in the end I ‘Love You But I’m Lost’ was born.”
While Dan was lucky enough to work with the electronic pioneers, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl wasn’t quite as lucky.
The ‘Monkey Wrench’ rockers reached out to the 80s singer Roland to ask him to appear on a track on their new record, ‘Concrete and Gold’ and though he never got back to them, Dave isn’t ruling out hope it could happen in the future.
He said recently: “There was a song on the new record that I thought would be amazing if Roland Orzabal sang on or helped produce.
“I emailed him – and never heard back. It would have been a dream come true, to get together with the singer from Tears for Fears.”

Cardi B wants to set a ‘better example’ to her fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has vowed to set a “better example” to her fans.
The 25-year-old rapper – whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar – has taken to social media to announce she plans to change her ways and do all she can to be a role model to the people “looking up to [her]”.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker posted a video on her Instagram account, in which she said: “I realized, after Halloween, a lot of little girls, they be looking up to me. They love me and I’m thinking to myself, like, ‘Yo, I really need to be a better example.'”
The musician has admitted she has always tried to lead by example, but she has insisted she will do her best to be “more PG-13, less rated R”.
She continued: “But I be trying to be a better example, though, you know what I’m saying? I’ve been trying to be more PG-13, less rated R.”
And the star has hinted it is her “hood rat friends” who influence her and are the cause of her more “R rated” music.
She said: “But I be hanging out with my hood rat friends and then they f**k me up all over again.”
Cardi B captioned the post: “for my wittle ones (sic).”
This news comes shortly after Cardi B – who recently got engaged to Migos’ Offset – was slammed by Azealia Banks for being fake.
Speaking previously the outspoken rap star said: “Dont get me wrong I’m very entertained by Cardi B, and I really like ‘Bodak Yellow’. That’s a really good song, but you are not that girl.
“It’s a real fire that burns in a soul, you don’t have that fire, I’m very happy for your success and I love your come-up and I love like seeing you smile and having a good time.
“But this like, woman’s expression, this black woman’s expression … just the fire of the black woman’s expression … you don’t have it, Cardi. And you won’t get it, because it’s not you.”

Stone Temple Pilots to play first show since Chester Bennington death

OHMYGOSSIP — Stone Temple Pilots are expected to announce Chester Bennington’s replacement in a newly-announced show.
The US rockers have been without a frontman since the late Linkin Park singer quit the group in 2015 to spend more time with the ‘In the End’ hitmakers, and they are set to name their new vocalist at an invitation-only gig, their first since Chester died in July.
According to Blabbermouth, the ‘Creep’ group – made up of brothers Dean DeLeo and Robert DeLeo as well as Eric Kretz – will return to the stage on November 14 for a show at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.
The band sent out a special email to SiriusXM subscribers offering “a limited number of complimentary tickets” for the gig, with attendees set to be chosen at random.
It will be the group’s first show since a one-off reunion event with Chester in California in March 2016.
Chester joined the Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 after they fired original frontman Scott Weiland, who was found dead on his tour bus in December 2015 aged 48.
Following Scott’s sacking, the band went through 15,000 submissions searching for a new frontman.
Dean said: “We had 15,000 submissions that the three of us personally went through; I mean, it was a big deal to go through all those submissions.
“And there were some great people. It was just a matter of trying to find someone who really had all we were requiring of someone.”
It’s not known who the group’s new frontman will be as of yet, but two names who have been mooted are former ‘X Factor’ wannabe Jeff Gutt and Filipino singer John Borja.

Taylor Swift teases new single Call It What You Want

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is set to release the fourth single from her forthcoming album ‘Reputation’ at midnight.
The 27-year-old pop megastar has so far put out ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, ‘Ready For It?’ and ‘Gorgeous’ from her sixth studio LP, and has teased her next track ‘Call It What You Want’.
Sharing the lyrics on Twitter, she wrote: “Holding my breath/ Slowly I said/ You Don’t Need To Save Me … But would you run away with me? … Yes.”
She captioned the post: “Call It What You Want. Midnight Eastern. (sic)”
Last month, the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker filmed parts of her music video outside a kebab shop in north London.
The blonde beauty was joined by 60 crew members, including extras and backing dancers, at the Kentish Delight takeaway in Kentish Town to shoot the promo for one of her songs.
The video is inspired by a night out in the UK capital and reveals what some of Taylor’s favourite things are to do when she comes to London and it will also show her going to a pub and riding a night bus.
A source previously said: “The video shows Taylor on a night out. She has spent months quietly going under the radar in London this year and has been out a lot more than anybody realises.
“It is quite telling that she has been hanging out in these regular and unexpected places. She wants to show people she is just a normal girl.”
Taylor – who is dating British actor Joe Alwyn – filmed the video between 9pm and 6am to minimise the chance of any leaks or footage being filmed by onlookers.
‘Reputation’ comes out in November.

Seal unimpressed with Sam Smith’s Petty copy

OHMYGOSSIP — Seal has criticised Sam Smith for copying Tom Petty’s ‘Won’t Back Down’ on his biggest single ‘Stay With Me’.
The gospel-inspired ballad was released in 2014 and became a hit all over the world.
Sam wrote the track with his frequent collaborator James Napier and William Phillips but the trio had to give the late Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne co-writer credits – a 12.5 per cent share of royalties – due to the song’s similarity to Petty’s 1989 single ‘I Won’t Back Down’.
Seal was asked by ShortList magazine to rate a handful of modern pop smashes from the current crop of British chart-toppers, including Smith, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and Adele.
But the ‘Kiss from a Rose’ singer gave a huge thumbs down to Sam for borrowing from Petty’s track.
Seal said: “Well it wasn’t even his song, was it? He got a slap on the wrist for it. We all have influences, but there are certain rules you follow. Do I like it? I like Tom Petty’s song. That’s all I say.”
The 54-year-old British music legend was also disparaging of One Direction member turned solo star Harry’s song ‘Sign of the Times’.
Giving his appraisal of the guitar track, he said: “It’s alright. There other songs on his album that I like more. There’s something uneventful about the chorus – it’s the same as the verse, isn’t it? I’m bored by it.”
Seal singled out Ed for his praise, describing his single ‘Thinking Out Loud’ as “one of the greatest songs ever written”.
Bigging up Ed for his track – which he wrote with regular songwriting partner Amy Wadge – he said: “As much as it pains me to say it, this is one of the greatest songs ever written. Yes, ever. I wish I’d written it. Every single part of it is instantly memorable. It is perfect.”
Seal is due to release his 10th studio album ‘Standards’ on 10 November featuring covers of timeless tunes made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone.
He will be touring the new album and performing his greatest hits on the ‘Standards UK’ tour which starts in February 2018.
