Liam Gallagher cuts Noel no slack for scissor player

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has mocked his brother Noel Gallagher’s “out there” scissor player.
The former Oasis frontman took to Twitter to laugh at his sibling’s latest musical experiment, a backing singer playing the stationary shearer along to his new song ‘She Taught Me How To Fly’.
After watching the 50-year-old guitarist perform the New Order-esque track on weekly UK music show ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ on Tuesday (31.10.17), Liam joked that he’s going to have someone on pencil sharpening duties, another peeling opening a banana and one more ripping stickers on his solo tour.
A fan asked him: “You got anyone on the scissors tonight?”
And referencing his brother’s upcoming psychedelic album ‘Who Built The Moon?’, Liam quipped: “Im afraid not but I do have somebody sharpening a pencil it sounds mega with a bit of reverb on it proper out there gear (sic)”
When asked the same question by another follower, he wrote: “I’m afraid not but I do have somebody sticking stickers in a book sounds mega a bit of reverb on we’ll out there gear (sic)”
He also responded to another follower: “Im afraid not but I do have somebody peeling a banana on stage sounds mega with a bit of reverb proper out there gear (sic)”
It comes after the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker said the pair’s band Oasis is “probably better off left alone” if his “former” brother’s new songs are the best he can come up with now.
The 45-year-old singer has made no secret of the fact that he wishes he and Noel were still together in the ‘Some Might Say’ group making music together rather than doing their own separate things.
But after hearing the tracks that have been unveiled from ‘Who Built The Moon?’ so far – ‘Holy Mountain’, ‘Fort Knox’ and ‘She Taught Me How to Fly’ – he thinks the guitarist has lost the songwriting ability which made them both global stars.
Replying to a fan on Twitter who tweeted him to say “I wish you could both sort things out, you obviously care about him [Noel]”, Liam replied: “If that’s all he’s got I ain’t singing that s**t oasis is probably better of left alone (sic)”

Kendrick Lamar and Kygo on U2’s Songs of Experience

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 have teamed up with Kendrick Lamar again for their new album ‘Songs of Experience’.
The Irish rockers have unveiled the full tracklisting for the eagerly-anticipated follow-up to 2014’s ‘Songs of Innocence’, which reveals Bono and co have reunited with the US rapper who reads spoken word at the end of ‘Get Out of Your Own Way’.
U2 previously teamed up with 30-year-old hip-hop star on the track ‘XXX’ on his LP ‘DAMN’.
The ‘With or Without You’ hitmakers have also worked with Norwegian EDM DJ Kygo – who has worked with the likes of Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez – on the song ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’.
Meanwhile, Bono recently shared how a “major fright” for his life shaped U2’s new album.
The 57-year-old singer confirmed his bandmate The Edge’s comments last month that ‘Songs of Experience’ had been delayed after the frontman suffered a “brush with mortality” in 2016.
Although the ‘One’ hitmaker – whose multiple fractures in a 2014 bike accident also delayed the record – refused to be drawn on the details, he admitted it shook him up.
He said: “Edge wasn’t fibbing when he said we had to stop and take account of what was going on in the world.
“He just didn’t want to mention what was going on in my world.
“I don’t want to get too into the details of it, for fear of the melodramatic reality TV kerfuffle. A lot of people have these moments, I’ve had a few. Not quite at this level.”
Edge added: “It was serious enough that he genuinely had a major fright. But where that brought him to as a writer was an amazing place.”
Though the record was initially expected to reflect the changing political climate, Bono admitted his experiences made it more personal than they planned.
He said: “The personal and political apocalypse came together. But I think, if we’re honest, the personal elbowed the political out of the way.”
Instead, the album came together as a series of letters to Bono’s family, friends, and fans.
He said: “It’s just one of those moments when nothing else matters. So what do you have to say for yourself? And what do you want to say to the people that you love?”
‘Songs of Experience’ is released on December 1.
U2’s ‘Songs of Experience’ tracklisting is as follows:
1. ‘Love Is All We Have Left’
2. ‘Lights of Home’
3. ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’

Charlie Puth gets fame tips from Liam Payne

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth asks Liam Payne for fame survival tips.
The ‘How Long’ hitmaker – who has penned the One Direction star’s latest single ‘Bedroom Floor’ – has revealed the 24-year-old singer was full of advice on how to deal with the pressures of pop stardom
Charlie, 25, said: “I have a lot of eyes on me lately, and it’s really weird for me to be a famous dude, so why not get some advice from a dude that has been famous for a bit longer than me?
“What’s interesting is that he is a bit younger than me but he has things to say when it comes to dealing with this life.
“It might seem a little bit obvious, but it’s cool hearing the advice come from him.”
However, one thing he doesn’t need to learn is how to say no to selfie-seeking fans.
He said: : “I’m from New Jersey – I don’t f**k with brown-nosing people too much.
“If I don’t want to do it then I just won’t.”
Charlie is currently single, but says when he was working with Liam – who has seven-month-old song Bear with his girlfriend Cheryl Tweedy – there was no talk of girls.
He laughed: “I ain’t getting no girl advice from Liam!
“He’s a good pal but I’m OK.”
Meanwhile, Charlie has teased that he’s been in the studio with another member of One Direction – also comprised of Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles – he hinted: “I’m really good friends with Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson too.
“To be in the studio nowadays means sending files back and forth.
“That’s the 2017 version of being in the studio – but in that respect, yes, I have been in the studio with one.
“I can’t really say who.”

N.E.R.D return with Rihanna duet Lemon

OHMYGOSSIP — N.E.R.D have dropped a collaboration with Rihanna called ‘Lemon’.
The hip-hop trio – featuring Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley – have been teasing fans all week about their comeback and, on Wednesday (01.11.17), they released their first track since 2010’s ‘Nothing’ LP, featuring a rap from the Bajan beauty.
The ‘Wild Thoughts’ hitmaker spits: “I get it how I live it / I live it how I get it. I pull up with a lemon … your eyes get acidic.”
Rihanna, 29, has only released chart-topper ‘Wild Thoughts’ with DJ Khalid this year.
The ‘She Wants to Move’ hitmakers kicked off speculation about their return by putting up a number of posters at Tyler, The Creator’s Flog Gnaw festival over the weekend.
They featured an acronym for the trio’s name, which read: “No_one Ever Really Dies.”
The same message also appeared on their official website and all of their social media profiles.
Pharrell – who has been busy with his solo career whilst the trio were inactive – confirmed in 2015 that they will definitely be doing another record.
When asked in a Twitter Q&A by a fan: “Are you going to make another N.E.R.D. album?”, the ‘Happy’ singer replied: “OF COURSE!”.
Despite not having recorded new music together since the release of their fourth studio album, Pharrell and Shae both appeared on stage together at Camden’s Roundhouse in London in September 2014, and teased new material from the band.
Joining the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker on stage, Shae said: “It feels good to be back in London. When we released our first album back in 2001 and first crossed the Atlantic, this was the first place to embrace us. You’re going to like this s**t we’re going to release.”

Ty Dolla $ign respects Skrillex

OHMYGOSSIP — Ty Dolla $ign has “a lot of respect” for Skrillex.
The 32-year-old singer couldn’t be more pleased about teaming up with the music producer as he has “always wanted” to work with him.
He shared: “I always wanted to work with Skrillex, and if you pay attention to my work you’ll know that on the first ‘Beach House’ record I sampled Skrillex’s ‘Z’ and mixed it with some Mint Condition on the track ‘Cabana’. So that was sampling Skrillex, but ‘So Am I’ is the real Skrillex on production.
“It was dope working with Skrillex. I’ve got a lot of respect for him because I’ve worked with a lot of producers who will come in, but later you’ll find out that they had someone else playing the keys, or that someone else did the whole track and they just put their name on there. But Skrillex will come in there, he’ll do the beat in front of you, make the edits in front of you, mix the record, master the record – the full s**t. So much love and respect to Skrillex.”
Ty Dolla $ign – whose real name is Tyrone William Griffin Jr. – feels he has made a lot of “sex music” in the past.
Speaking to NME magazine, he added: “I think it comes from my music, because I have a lot of ‘sex music’ – music that people have sex to. S**t man, I’m your guy: I’ll tell you exactly what you need to know about sex.”

Azealia Banks slams Cardi B

OHMYGOSSIP — Azealia Banks has accused Cardi B of being fake.
The outspoken rap star has hit out at the chart-topping musician, saying that while she’s a fan of Cardi’s single ‘Bodak Yellow’, she doesn’t believe she has the “black woman’s expression”.
Azealia explained: “Dont get me wrong I’m very entertained by Cardi B, and I really like ‘Bodak Yellow’. That’s a really good song, but you are not that girl.
“It’s just truth, it’s just the truth, you know what I’m saying? I’m not trying to take anything from you, but you’re just like – you know it’s like this female rap thing, it’s like a lineage.
“It’s a real fire that burns in a soul, you don’t have that fire, I’m very happy for your success and I love your come-up and I love like seeing you smile and having a good time.
“But this like, woman’s expression, this black woman’s expression … just the fire of the black woman’s expression … you don’t have it, Cardi. And you won’t get it, because it’s not you.”
Azealia, 26, subsequently drew a parallel between Cardi and Iggy Azalea, suggesting both rappers are just corporate creations.
She told The Black Media: “We’ve seen this movie before, it was called Iggy Azalea. You know what I mean?
“Like, I’ve seen this movie before. I know exactly what you guys do. You buy a No. 1 and then you buy a Grammy, you know? It’s just like … it’s all being paid for. I’m not at all trying to take anything away from you.
“S**t, I’d f***ing love if someone paid for me to f***ing get an award. That’s great. But I’m that girl. Nicki Minaj is that girl. Remy Ma is that girl. Cardi B is not that girl. Iggy Azalea is not that girl.”

Liam Gallagher says Oasis is ‘better left alone’ due to Noel’s new songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher says Oasis is “probably better off left alone” if his “former brother” Noel Gallagher’s new songs are the best he can come up with now.
The 45-year-old singer has made no secret of the fact that he wishes he and his older sibling Noel, 50, were still together in their former band and making music together rather than doing their own separate things.
But after hearing the tracks that have been unveiled from Noel’s upcoming third solo LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ so far – ‘Holy Mountain’, ‘Fort Knox’ and ‘She Taught Me How to Fly’ – he thinks the guitarist has lost the songwriting ability which made them both global stars.
Replying to a fan on Twitter who tweeted him to say “I wish you could both sort things out, you obviously care about him [Noel]”, Liam replied: “If that’s all he’s got I ain’t singing that s**t oasis is probably better of left alone (sic)”
Another follower who messaged the ‘Greedy Soul’ singer with the jibe “at least he doesn’t have to hire people to write his songs” – in reference to Liam working with Greg Kurstin, Andrew Wyatt and Michael Tighe among others on his chart-topping solo LP ‘As You Were’ – received the response: “Oh he will mate very soon maybe you can write 1 for him you superstar (sic)”
Liam’s tweets came within a spree of posts seemingly addressing Noel’s recent Q magazine interview in which he stated he didn’t care if hardcore Oasis fans – who he dubbed “parka monkeys” in a reference to his brother’s Pretty Green clothing line which is so popular with their following – liked his new album, which he recorded with electronic music producer David Holmes.
Liam used his social media account – which now has 2.47 million followers – to remind Noel that he wouldn’t be in the lofty position he enjoys today without the “beautiful people” who supported Oasis.
His series of tweets read: “Gotta address the s**t that come out my former brothers mouth he’s on a journey and needs to learns things … Your your own boss you put your own records out you write your own s**t you play every instrument you mange your self your the f***ing man x
“Your f***ing rude … The only way you got to be in that position was from the beautiful people who put you there be careful I say this with love and concern LG x (sic)”

Demi Lovato gets career advice from Aretha Franklin

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato got the chance to speak to her idol Aretha Franklin and get career advice from the music legend.
The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker has always been a huge fan of ‘The Queen of Soul’ and she was beyond thrilled and grateful to be able to have a telephone conversation with Aretha, 75.
However, 25-year-old Demi is staying tight-lipped on what the pair spoke about.
Speaking to the November issue of #Legend magazine – of which she is the cover star – she said: “Very random story: I got to speak to Aretha on the phone a little bit ago, which was beyond awesome. She was at home and I had the chance to talk with her for a while. Talking with someone who has made such an impact on me and my career was really special.”
In the interview with the Hong Kong publication Demi also opened up about the meaning behind her hit single ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, insisting rather than it being about a break-up it’s about her battle against bullies when she was at school.
Because of the personal nature of the song, Demi is even more proud of the fact it did so well in charts all over the world.
She explained: “‘Sorry Not Sorry’ comes from a really different place for me. When I released it, a lot of people thought the song was about a relationship or a break-up. It isn’t. When I was younger, I was bullied. This song comes out of the work I’ve done to rise above what was done to me and succeed no matter how I was treated.”
The November 2017 issue of #Legend is available at newsstands and bookstores across Hong Kong now, whilst hashtaglegend.com has extra content and news.

Miguel doesn’t appreciate Prince comparisons

OHMYGOSSIP — Miguel doesn’t like being compared to the late Prince.
The 31-year-old singer accepts it is a “huge compliment” to be likened to the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker – who tragically passed away in April 2016 at the age of just 57 – but he believes he has his own unique qualities that people have yet to discover and he doesn’t want to simply be a “reminder” of the music legend.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the ‘Adorn’ hitmaker said: “I think it’s obvious he’s a major influence but I think there’s also things about me that are uniquely mine that aren’t coming from his vibe. Being a reminder of Prince is a huge compliment. But no one will ever be that I don’t want to be that. It’s a bit of both, being flattered but like, ‘Hey, there’s more.’ Hopefully that’s enough to get you to listen more and go, ‘OK I see where he’s different.’ ”
Miguel – whose full name is Miguel Jontel Pimentel – has collaborated with Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott on tracks in the past, but the musician has revealed he is “pretty picky” about who he joins forces with to make music.
He explained: “I’m pretty picky. I don’t have a reason for why. I’ve only collaborated with a handful of people. I think I’m more open to collaborations now.”
And Miguel – who is in a relationship with Nazanin Mandi – has praised Dua Lipa, who he worked with on ‘Lost In Your Light’, as a fantastic singer who has a “great work ethic”.
Speaking about the British pop star, he said: “She’s one of the coolest girls. She’s always got a great vibe around her, consistently positive and
effortlessly cool and fun to look at … She’s beautiful. You don’t expect her voice to be like that. All of that together is just … on top of that she’s got a great work ethic. I love and respect her.”
Miguel has revealed his new music on upcoming album ‘War and Leisure’ addresses some political issues, but will also touch on “new territories” that will surprise his fans.
He said: “I wouldn’t be myself if it didn’t make it into my music. So I think you’ll hear it sprinkled around the album. None of the songs, with the exception of ‘Told You So’. They’re more like the leisurely side, whereas the other songs may not feel dark or heavy but are clearly mentioning some events. I think there are new territories. They’re definitely still me but there’s gonna be some in the fan base like, ‘I wasn’t expecting that.'”

Chris Brown drops 45-song album

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Brown has dropped his 45-song album.
The 28-year-old singer released his eighth studio LP ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ on Spotify over Halloween (31.10.17) but it’ll take fans almost three hours to listen to all of it as he’s piled on the huge number of tracks – the equivalent of around four albums – and pulled in the likes of Usher, R. Kelly, Gucci Mane, Lil Yachty and Jhene Aiko for collaborations.
The album, which will be available on CD from November 3, came just hours after he unveiled three songs ‘Pull Up, ‘Everybody Knows’ and ‘Hope You Do’.
And, although the ‘Privacy’ hitmaker seems relatively pleased with his surprise release, other artists are puzzled by the fact he’s brought out 45 songs at once.
Grime artist JME took to Twitter to say: “I normally go for a drive to listen to a new album. But my car might run out of charge fam. He done da mad ting. Bare riddims. (sic)”
Chris – who hasn’t released an album since 2015’s ‘Royalty’ -has previously opened up about his ambitions for double album, revealing he was able to get the “vibe” he wanted by combining feelings of “nostalgia” with “individuality” whilst in the studio.
He said: “I thought ‘Heartbreak On a Full Moon’ was a depiction of what my soul wanted to say. It’s funny because we’re doing a double album. I’ve done so many records, but all of the records, to me, are personal favorites and I feel like it gets what I want to say across. It gives a vibe. You get nostalgia or you get a sense of individuality.”

André 3000 isn’t on the ‘pulse’ of hip-hop

OHMYGOSSIP — André 3000 isn’t “on the pulse” of hip hop music anymore.
The ‘Hey Ya’ hitmaker – who had much chart success as part of hip hop duo Outkast – admits he doesn’t have the pulse for that kind of music anymore as the “rhythms change [for] every generation”.
He said: “I don’t have the pulse anymore. Rhythms change every generation.
“The intensity and the drums change. And I’m not on the pulse. I can’t pretend. It’s kinda like watching your uncle dance.”
And whilst the 42-year-old star – who admits he is “slowing down” – has achieved a lot in his career, he would regret not doing one more album but does want to leave a gap for the younger stars to fill.
He added: “If I were to drop dead right now, honestly, we’ve done it. And that’s the truth. You know what I mean? Here’s the only thing that I would regret, ‘Man, you know, there is still that album that you wanted to do.’
“I’m slowing down, and I see these young kids coming up and I was them. And at a certain point, no matter how Mayweather you are, I think it’s classy to be like, ‘You know what? I think I have, like, maybe two more Mayweather fights.'”
André has also confessed he “hates” going to the studio most of the time but has been tempted back there by some collaborations with other artists and he is excited about the “couple of projects” he is working on.
He told GQ Style: “I hate going to the studio. So what’s got me going once again is me being excited about other artists. I’ve been working on producing a few artists. A couple projects.”

Willow Smith is inspired by Alanis Morissette

OHMYGOSSIP — Willow Smith’s music is inspired by Alanis Morissette.
The 17-year-old singer – who is the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – has admitted to taking inspiration from the likes of Alanis and Tori Amos, and she considers any comparisons to the pair to be a huge compliment.
Asked about the parallels between herself and Alanis and Tori, Willow – who has just released her new album, ‘The 1st’ – replied: “They are literally my icons. Alanis Morissette sings with this abandon that is so inspiring, and I try to implement that in my live performances as well.
“You can tell when someone’s singing from their heart. You just look at them and see that they’re feeling it.”
Willow channels a lot of passion and emotion on the track ‘Human Leech’.
Asked how she accessed those emotions to record the song, Willow explained to Rolling Stone magazine: “You know, what we think is love entails a lot of confusion. You ask yourself, ‘Why am I acting this way? I need to sit down and analyse myself.’
“That song was me looking into myself and realising my tendencies to latch on to somebody and suck their energy. That anger that you’re hearing is me being angry at myself. That’s what the song is really about.
“It’s like the whole hypocrisy of relationships. Have you ever had someone do something that you think is negative and you’re like, ‘Ugh, this person is so sus’?
“Then you’re thinking about it in your head and you’re like, ‘Wait, I do that too. I need to really start being more aware.'”

Liam Gallagher not Outta Time for Oasis hits

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has played one of his few self-penned Oasis songs for the first time live since the band split in 2009.
Despite being the frontman in the Britpop group, Liam’s brother and now bitter rival Noel Gallagher – who broke the band up when he decided to quit – wrote the majority of their tracks.
But whilst performing his solo show at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Monday night (30.10.17), halfway through the set Liam treated fans to ‘I’m Outta Time’, the track he wrote for their seventh and final studio album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’, released in October 2008.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker also gave Oasis’ debut single ‘Supersonic’ from 1994’s ‘Definitely Maybe’ its first spin on his own with the song last performed live acoustically by Noel back in 2013.
On Sunday (29.10.17), Liam added Oasis hits ‘Some Might Say’ and ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ to his solo repertoire.
Liam hadn’t sung ‘Some Might Say’, their first UK number one single from their second studio album 1995’s ‘What’s the Story (Morning Glory?)’, live since 2002.
The 45-year-old musician has also added solo song ‘Come Back to Me’ – from his chart-topping album ‘As You Were’ – to his setlist.
Liam wrote a total of 10 album tracks in Oasis, including hit single ‘Songbird’ and fan favourite ‘The Meaning of Soul’. He also contributed a number of B-sides and bonus tracks including rarity ‘Boy With The Blues’.

Harry Styles stopped show to help fan having panic attack

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles stopped a concert in London so a female fan who was having a panic attack could get assistance.
The ‘Sign of the Times’ singer was performing at the Eventim Apollo on Sunday night (29.10.17) as part of his solo world tour when the girl started having her medical emergency.
Harry had been singing a rendition of ‘Just a little Bit of Your Heart’ – a song he co-wrote for Ariana Grande – when he noticed the fan was struggling in the crowd and halted his music to say: “Is everyone OK? You still with me? Do you want to help her up? If everyone could give her some space. If everyone could chill for one second, we’ll get some people.”
She was then pulled over the barrier and treated by medics.
The fan who Harry helped is known only as Annie but she logged onto her Twitter account to thank Harry for his assistance and reveal details of the ordeal.
Tweeting under the name @alienwhiteside on her account, she wrote: “Harry Styles stopped his entire show because I got crushed and then watched me being pulled over the barrier … That was one of the most horrendous panic attack’s I’ve ever had like even the medics were terrified of the state I was in … Harry is so f***ing pure I can’t believe it … I was literally in the worst state that all I remember was Harry looking at me (sic)”
Praising the One Direction star for his actions and the other gig goers who came to her aid, she added in other tweets: “I feel like s**t but I’m so grateful to harry for having such a pure heart and stopping the show to get security to help me … Also sooooo grateful to the girls around me who realised what was happening and screamed for security … Honestly Harry Styles is so talented, all his songs are bops and he’s an absolute angel (sic)”
The fan had been devastated to miss the rest of the show because of her panic attack but she managed to get a ticket to see him play his second night at the Eventim Apollo on Monday evening (30.10.17) much to the delight of her fellow Directioners who tweeted her to tell to have the best time.

Matt Terry owes career to psychic

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry was told by a clairvoyant to chase a career in music.
The 24-year-old singer is forever grateful to the psychic who predicted he will become a singer, and he believes it had an influence on him auditioning and eventually winning ‘The X Factor’ last year.
He said: “When I was 16 someone stopped me and said: ‘You have this blue aura, you will be a recording artist’ and I was like: ‘Perfect.’
“And then I went on ‘The X Factor’. I didn’t understand how it works – but it does.”
The ‘Subeme La Radio’ hitmaker says he’s regularly stopped in the streets for readings and is told he has an air about him.
He told The Daily Star newspaper: “I always get psychics and people who read palms stop me in the street and say I have something about me.
“Every time I have been to a boot fair with my nan or just in the street they feel they have to stop me. It’s really weird.”
Meanwhile, Matt – who releases his debut studio album ‘Trouble’ on November 24 – says he’s thrilled Nicole Scherzinger, who was his mentor on the ITV talent show, is reuniting with the Pussycat Dolls.
He said: “She’s wanted the reunion for so long I’m so happy for her.
“I think younger guys think it’s even nicer seeing older women do it.
“But anyway, they look the same now as all those years ago.”
The girl group – who split in 2009 after six years together – created a new website, entitled PCD Reunion, confirming the ‘When I Grow Up’ hitmakers are getting back together in the near future.
The emergence of the website earlier this month came just a week after speculation Nicole was set to reunite with her former bandmates Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton.
A source said: “Talk of the girls getting back together has been rife for a few years now and they have finally found a time which works for them all.
“They are still deciding whether it will involve a full tour or just a handful of performances but they are excited to be getting out there together again…
“When they parted ways in 2009 it was only intended to be a hiatus, so it feels like the right thing to do.”
