Blac Chyna’s music career will be ‘really easy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Blac Chyna thinks a music career will be “really easy” for her.
The ‘Rob and Chyna’ star has put into action her dream of having a career in the music industry but thinks she’ll be able to breeze it as she is “already around” the people she needs to be.
She told XXL: “What even made me start to think about this venture is like, hey, I’m already in the industry and I done kinda reached the highest of the things I was doing. I’m an entrepreneur, I have a shop, I have Lashed, I have 88 Fin, I done did the TV scene. I done did all that so it’s like, ‘Hey, Chyna, what’s your next big thing?’
“I told myself it’s either two ways you could go with this. You either go music music or you could do acting. And I’m like, uh, music. Hello! I’m already around it and most of the people I already know them anyways, so, it should be really easy for me.”
It comes after it was revealed Chyna has “met with four labels” in a bid to become a rapper.
A source shared recently: “She’s met with four labels and [is] collaborating with very big artists, and there’s going to be big news coming soon. Yes, she is trying to rap and no, [it’s] horrible. All the majors are listening, and, sadly, she will likely get a deal. If she lands it, somebody will be stupid enough to give her a seven-figure advance … She wants the music to be right.”
And Chyna is said to be relying on her showbiz pals like Drake and Nicki Minaj to help establish her music career.
The insider added: “Chyna was offered a deal. A huge record deal. But you never take the first offer … All of her friends are going to help her out … Nicki has been very helpful as a mentor and Drake shouted her out 10 years ago on a record …
“Chyna hasn’t wrote a song about the Kardashians but she’s thinking about it. She could … She’s exploring all musical possibilities. She’s a poet and she’s been around the music industry for many, many years. She’s well versed.”

U2 At The BBC announced for December

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 are to star in a one-off programme on the BBC in December.
The hour-long show titled ‘U2 At The BBC’ will see the Irish rock icons – Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton – perform live and talk in-depth to host Cat Deeley at Abbey Road Studios about their glittering career spanning more than four decades.
It will give fans the chance to hear brand new tracks from their forthcoming album, ‘Songs of Experience’, and some of their biggest hits.
Cat was given an AAA (Access All Areas) pass when the ‘With or Without You’ rockers prepared to perform at the Morumbi stadium in Sao Paulo, Brazil in October.
The venue is where they ended their recent ‘The Joshua Tree Tour 2017’.
Cat said: “U2: Biggest band in the world. Stadium Rock Gods … and all round good eggs! I had the privilege of joining them on tour in Sao Paulo and now they’re coming back to the UK for an intimate show at Abbey Road Studios.
“I’ll be catching up with the band and there will be performances of brand new tracks and U2 classics.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t wait!”
U2 follow in the footsteps of Harry Styles, Adele and Michael Bublé who have all had their own ‘At The BBC’ shows.
Jan Younghusband, Head of Commissioning, Music Television said of U2’s turn: “We’re delighted to welcome U2 to the historic Abbey Road Studios, where they have previously recorded tracks. BBC Music is currently broadcasting a huge array of music on television, and the addition of U2 At The BBC to this stable of programming is a coup, as we continue to put musicians centre stage on BBC television.”
Guy Freeman, Editor, Special Events and Formats, BBC Studios added: “I’m delighted that U2 have agreed not only to give us such an exclusively intimate performance, but also to share with Cat and viewers some of the more fun aspects of being part of the world’s biggest rock band.”
‘U2 At The BBC’ will air sometime next month.

Iron Maiden announce 2018 Legacy Of The Beast World Tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Iron Maiden will carry on rocking in 2018 with the ‘Legacy Of The Beast World Tour’.
Following on from the success of their ‘The Book Of Souls’ arena shows in support of the album of the same name, the British metal legends – fronted by Bruce Dickinson – have announced dates in Europe, the UK and beyond for next year.
The shows are inspired by the ‘Run to the Hills’ hitmakers’ new comic book series and game, and will see US rockers Killswitch Engage support them.
A brand new set design will feature a number of different but interlocking “worlds” with a set list covering a large selection of 80s material – which could include songs from 1981’s ‘Killers’ and 1984’s ‘Powerslave’ – with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood explained: “As our fans know, we’ve been following a particular touring cycle ever since Bruce and Adrian re-joined Maiden at the start of the millennium, alternating new album tours with ‘History/Hits’ tours.
“We enjoy working this way for many reasons, not least because it gives the band a chance to play both new material and the older favourites which we know fans like to hear. It keeps things fresh, not just for the fans but for the band too.
“For this ‘History/Hits’ tour we decided to base the theme around the ‘Legacy Of The Beast’ name, which suits our purposes perfectly by giving us scope to get creative and have some fun, especially with Eddie!
“I don’t want to give too much away at the moment but we’re working on a number of different stage sets, all in keeping with the Maiden tradition and we hope to give our fans a fantastic experience when they come to see this very special show.”
The tour kicks off in Tallinn, Estonia on May 26 and finishes at The O2 arena, London on August 10.
Full tour dates can be found at IronMaiden.com
The UK dates are as follows:
July 31, METRO RADIO ARENA, NEWCASTLE
August 2, SSE ARENA, BELFAST

James Bay has collaborated with Rod Stewart

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay has collaborated with Sir Rod Stewart.
The ‘Hold Back The River’ singer has revealed he’s recorded a track with the 72-year-old rock legend which will be released “soon”, but says it’s more important for him to focus on his own sound at the moment rather than feature on songs with other artists.
James said: “I’m still working on me. The idea of collaborations is incredible. This year was incredible. I got to do something with Rod Stewart which was incredible – that’s coming out soon and I’m excited for people to hear that. But I’m still trying to get myself across. This is a new me, a new version.”
The 27-year-old star also teased that his follow-up to 2015’s ‘Chaos and the Calm’, which is almost “ready”, is “high-energy” and that he was inspired by an eclectic mix of artists including the late David Bowie, Frank Ocean, LCD Soundsystem and Chance the Rapper.
Speaking to NME, he teased: “I’ve been making the new album, which I’m very happy to say is nearly ready.
“The thing that really caught me by surprise is that I sat down to write this album towards the end of last year and it just came flooding out. It’s a time ago that I put songs out so I’m very close to that.”
James is excited to start a whole “new chapter” with both a new hairdo – after ditching his trademark hat and long locks – and a refreshed sound.
He continued: “It definitely takes it to a new place.
“I’ve got a new look, a new sound. I just fancied a new chapter.
There are moments on the album that sort of ‘bridge’ from ‘The Chaos and the Calm’ to the new album, but the best way I could put it is that I’ve been listening to other stuff.
“I got deep into Frank Ocean, LCD Soundsystem, Chance The Rapper, a load of David Bowie, Lorde.
“All of these sounds that don’t really relate to the first album but hugely relate to this album.
“I’m really excited for people to hear that and some familiar moments too.”
However, James has promised he’s still got his trademark riffs on there too.
Asked whether he’s completely ditched his guitar, he said: “Weirdly, because it’s my thing, I’ve managed to get guitar in there somehow – but maybe it isn’t as easy to tell. It’s been exciting to deliver that, but I’ll still be up there with a guitar in hand.”

Noel Gallagher compares brother Liam to ‘cowardly lion’

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has quipped that he’s going to outdo his brother Liam’s potato-peeling fan by getting a “cowardly lion” on skates on stage.
The 50-year-old rocker has finally responded after his bitter rival and former Oasis bandmate got an audience member to sheer the skin off a spud during his recent solo gig in London, a double-edged joke at the expense of Noel.
The ‘Some Might Say’ songwriter has hit back and compared his estranged sibling to the fictional lion from the children’s movie ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
Speaking to a radio station in South America, Noel joked: “Let me think, I’ll come up with something.
“Maybe a live animal? Maybe in honour of my brother, I get a cowardly lion? You know, from the ‘Wizard Of Oz’? The lion who’s a coward maybe. On roller skates.”
‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker Liam often calls Noel a potato in his Twitter jibes and since he performed tracks from his upcoming third solo LP ‘Who Built The Moon? with the assistance of a woman playing a pair of scissors on UK music show ‘Later… With Jools Holland’, 45-year-old Liam has joked he is going to have equally odd DIY instruments accompany his band.
Addressing the frenzied potato-peeling during his rendition of ‘Greedy Soul’, Liam tweeted previously: “To the peeler who peeled his little heart out last night you my friend are truly out there, psychedelic even, as you were King Parka Monkey x (sic)”
Footage also appeared of a male fan in the front row snipping a pair of scissors as Liam sung, leading his Twitter followers to ask for some praise for the guy who was dubbed “Scissor Monkey”.
Liam’s decision to anoint himself “King Parka Monkey” was a reference to comments Noel made in a recent Q magazine interview in which the ‘Holy Mountain’ singer stated he didn’t care if the hardcore Oasis fans, who he dubbed “parka monkeys” in a reference to his brother’s Pretty Green clothing line, liked his new album.
Noel said: “Half are saying, ‘This is f***ing s**t. This can’t be the guy who wrote ‘Live Forever’ and the other half are saying ‘This is f***ing amazing’ and that’s not a place I’ve ever been.
“[Fans expect] the strumming of the guitar and the melancholy songs of lost love or lost youth, but with a hopeful chorus. But that’s not where I am now. I know that’s what people want, but f**k what they want.
“The parka monkeys are going to be like, ‘A f***ing French bird on a track? No mate, not having it. It’s not rock ‘n’ roll. Well no, it isn’t. Whose saying it is?”

Liam Payne: 1D will be ‘coming back around’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne believes One Direction will be “coming back around at some point”.
The ‘Bedroom Floor’ hitmaker and his bandmates – Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – decided to take a break to pursue their own projects a couple of years ago but Liam is “sure” they will reunite at some point when the time is right.
Asked if it has always been an aim of his to be a solo artist after he first entered ‘The X Factor’ as a solo artist, he said: “It’s always been a dream. I wouldn’t say it’s always been an aim. Once One Direction started, it was just the passion. It was fantastic and it still is. It’s coming back around at some point, I’m sure.”
And Liam – who has seven-month-old son Bear with his partner Cheryl Tweedy – was thrilled to be performing at the MTV European Music Awards on the same stage as the likes of his childhood hero Eminem.
Speaking to ODE on the red carpet at the event at London’s Wembley Arena, he added: “It’s fantastic. I’m excited to be here. To be on the bill alongside Eminem, that’s crazy.
“I never thought in my career that I would get to a stage where someone I used to listen to in my bedroom as a kid, I’m now sharing a stage with.”
And Liam had previously revealed he thinks One Direction – which also included Zayn Malik until his departure in 2015 – “have to” reunite as they never got a chance to tour with their 2015 album ‘Made In The AM’.
Liam said: “Yes, I think we will reunite at some point in the future. We have to – I mean we’ve got an album we haven’t even toured yet, and I want to write some more songs as well with the boys.
“My favourite part about touring with the boys was when we were younger, we used to spend a lot of time together on the tour bus. When we did our first American tour, we had a really tiny, small bus, so it was just a lot of fun, just hanging out. And it was like, I don’t know, that was the time when we got to know each other best.”

David Guetta takes not of Calvin Harris’ earnings

OHMYGOSSIP — David Guetta makes a note of how much more Calvin Harris earns than him.
The French superstar DJ earned around $20 million less than the ‘Summer’ hitmaker, who was crowned Forbes’ magazine’s highest-paid DJ for the fifth year in a row, and says himself and his rivals all like to monitor how well their competitors are doing.
Confessing to constantly checking the magazine’s annual list, 50-year-old Guetta told the Metro newspaper: “Of course, I pay attention to it.
“We all do. There is competition but in a positive way.
“We’re all really good friends.”
Calvin, 33, saw a significant drop from 2016’s estimated $63 million earnings to $48.5 million between June
2016 and June 2017 with an impressive $48.5 million, but he still managed to come out on top.
The large sum comes from his residencies in Las Vegas, festival performances and hits like ‘Feels’, which he produced featuring pop megastars Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams.
Guetta, who made $25 million, has performed around 100 shows in the past 12 months around the world and owes a lot of his salary to working with Rihanna, Sia and Usher.
Commenting on his position, the ‘Dirty Sexy Money’ hitmaker previously said: “When I started, our music was underground.
“There was no such thing as DJ music that would be on the radio.”

Rita Ora’s new album inspired by exes

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora’s new album has been inspired by her ex boyfriends.
The 26-year-old star has dated the likes of Calvin Harris, Rob Kardashian and James Arthur over the years, and admitted some of the lyrics for her upcoming third record – a follow-up to her debut album ‘Ora’ – were thought up based on conversations with former flames.
She said: “The album is inspired by a few. There are little spurts of inspiration from conversations I’ve had with exes or boyfriends at the time.
“It’s like a new chapter because, to be honest, everything with my music was way more impactful for me than any relationship.
“There was that pure frustration and passion that’s really the core of this record.”
Rita has given a sneak preview to her pal Ed Sheeran, who wrote one of the tunes on the record, ‘You Song’, and he is said to be a big fan of the album.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “I have a huge girl anthem with some incredible females on there.
“I haven’t told anybody what yet but this rap feature is so exciting for me because I love this person.
“This song that I’m really excited about, Ed Sheeran loves as well. I’ve played loads to Ed. I really trust his opinion.”
Last month, Rita announced a 2018 tour, on which she is expected to play the second studio album, which is expected to drop in March.

James Bay loses trademark hat

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay ditched his trademark hat and showed off his new short hairdo at the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs).
The ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker was one of the presenters at this year’s glitzy ceremony at London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley on Sunday night (12.11.17), and used his appearance to debut the bold new look.
Speaking on the red carpet, he told The Sun newspaper: “I’m expecting a lot of, ‘Where’s the hat?’ questions.”
The 27-year-old singer/songwriter was rarely seen without his well-brimmed Fedora when playing live or at events, and was almost unrecognisable with his new sweeping cut.
Last year, the ‘Hold Back The River’ star confessed that his biggest fear was losing his famous accessory on stage after it almost blew away at music festival Wild Life in Brighton, England.
Recalling the moment when he thought his hat was going to lift off, he shared: “It was at Wild Life. Really, I just thought, ‘I could get rid of this and just play and not worry about it’, I could have just had like an 80s hair moment – like a wind machine, but from real wind. Then I thought about it blowing off mid-song, like a comedy moment with it blowing off in the wind, and I thought, ‘I’ll look really stupid.'”
James is currently in the studio working on his second studio album, and has vowed to wow fans with his follow-up to 2015’s critically-acclaimed ‘Chaos and the Calm’.
He said recently: “I absolutely have to top it. I see ‘Chaos and the Calm’ as round one and that was setting the bar.
“Round two needs to beat it on all levels. Someone said to me recently, ‘We’ll see you soon in arenas’, and I said, ‘Yeah, absolutely – no question.”
James’ new album is likely to be released in 2018.

U2’s Manchester tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — U2 paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack at a special London concert on Saturday (11.11.17) night.
The Irish rockers kicked off their MTV Presents Trafalgar Square gig at the famous landmark by performing ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’, with the names of those who had lost their lives when a bomb was detonated at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena in May were lit up on huge display boards.
The veteran group played a string of their biggest hits during the show, including ‘Beautiful Day’ – during which they referenced the late David Bowie’s ‘Starman’ – ‘One’ and ‘Pride (In the Name of Love)’
Announcing the latter track, Bono made a dedication to “the military”.
He told the fans who had braved the chilly temperatures for the show: “I was never expecting to learn that the people who most value peace are the ones who pay the price for peace.

The singer – who was fired from the band in 1988 – passed away at the age of 57 on Thursday (09.11.17) from addiction-related reasons after a long period of sobriety.
His family released a statement through his publicist which read: “After a long period of sobriety, Charles Henry Mosley III lost his life, on November 9th, 2017, due to the disease of addiction.
“We’re sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety.

Steve Aoki wasn’t ‘supposed’ to become an EDM superstar

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Aoki wasn’t “supposed” to become an EDM superstar.
The 39-year-old DJ – who was previously in a hardcore group called This Machine Kills – has admitted his biggest passion was his desire to change the world for the better, but he believes his career in the music business makes it “harder” for him to get his message across, though he insists he still tries.
He told GQ magazine: “This whole arena-filling DJ, electronic musical thing wasn’t supposed to happen. Not at all.
“I grew up in Miami but moved to Newport Beach, then enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
“I was a straight edge, vegan punk and a committed activist. I took women’s studies and sociology and went on demos, playing guitar in basements to 20 people.
“I wanted to change things. I’ve encountered my fair share of prejudice and racism on my way through life and addressing those injustices has long been a passion.
“Listen, I get it – it’s harder to do that when stood in front on 10,000 people in a club who just want to get their rocks off. But I keep it in mind.”
Steve admits his shows – which are famous for his cake-throwing antics – can be “intense”, which has come from the huge competition between fellow artists.
The ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker said: “S**t gets intense. It all grew out of a sort of one-upmanship that now exists in the EDM, clubbing world, or certainly in the States…
“I do some champagne spraying from the podium. At times, I get into a life raft and crowd surf across the floor on a sea of hands. That’s pretty crazy. And then there’s the cakes. People love the cakes.”
