Mark Ronson felt intimidated producing Queens of the Stone Age’s album

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ronson found it “intimidating” producing Queens of the Stone Age’s new album.
The 42-year-old producer thinks frontman Josh Homme is incredibly talented and can do “everything” better than him, so it was awkward having to direct him in the studio on new LP ‘Villains’.
Mark said: “He’s a great songwriter, lyricist, producer, and arranger who also has the ost sublime falsetto. He knows more about gear than any engineer.
“He’s like Sly, D’Angelo, Jack White, McCartney, people who can do everything better than you. It’s quite intimidating. His quality bar is so high.”
Thankfully, Mark was able to meet Josh’s tough standards on the record.
The singer added: “My name is not by the producer credit, because it’s Ronson’s victory or loss to carry. He really did an amazing f***ing job.”
The ‘No One Knows’ hitmaker turned to Mark to produce the record because he was looking for a completely new direction.
He said: “It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to understand that he was asking me to be on the Gaga record to bridge the gap. I was like, ‘Why deny signs along the road?’ Why not band together and break as many preconceived notions as we can.’ It’s that word again – to agitate. It’s flashing again now – agitate now, agitate now.”
Josh was also driven to go further following the mass shooting at an Eagles of Death Metal – his other occasional band – concert in Paris in 2015, though he wasn’t there, and also the death of David Bowie, which happened while he was producing a record for the ‘Absolute Beginners’ hitmaker’s friend Iggy Pop.
He told Mojo magazine: “When I Was younger, I almost drowned – and when I got out of the water, I remember thinking, ‘I’m never gonna wait…’ So after Bataclan and Iggy, the word now just kept pulsing like a heartbeat in glaring lights. This is it, every step is all you get. Take a chance. From top to tail, I’ve always thought of Queens as a dance band.”

Lauren Jauregui enjoying ‘branching out’ from 5H

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Jauregui is enjoying “branching out” from Fifth Harmony and “exploring” her own sound.
The 21-year-old singer – who has collaborated solo with the likes of Steve Aoki and Halsey – thinks it is “really cool” that the group have been able to work on their own music as well as with the band.
She said: “I mean, all of us are exploring [our own projects] right now. We’re at such an amazing place harmoniously with each other with communication and support for one another. We’ve grown so much over the past year even, and I love genuinely being able to explore myself and know that my girls are there for me.
“It’s really cool, because we’re branching out to creatively discover ourselves, because we never really got an opportunity to do that since we started this when we were … I was like 16 when I started. It’s cool to be able to give each other that space to really explore ourselves individually and grow.”
However, the ‘Work From Home’ hitmaker insists the group are still “really focused” on the band’s musical offerings too.
She added to Entertainment Tonight: “We’re still promoting this [album] and we’re touring a little bit next year in Australia and Asia in March … and hopefully we’ll do a U.S. and Europe run. We’re really focused still on this album. [Fifth Harmony] is so fire and it’s our best work thus far, so I’m grateful for that, and hopefully we can keep exploring that. That’ll be amazing.”

Stormzy vows to continue making great music

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy won’t “sit around on [his] a**e” after landing a number one album.
The 24-year-old grime star has had a huge year with the popularity of his debut LP ‘Gang Signs and Prayer’ – which was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize – but he doesn’t plan to take things easy and stop pushing himself to do better in the months to come.
He said: “There are times when I think, ‘F***ing hell’ but mostly I take it in my stride.
“I accept the memory, I celebrate then I keep it moving.
“I find it difficult to sit around on my a**e because I’ve got a number one album. That’s not how thing game works.
“You bank that – and then you make the next one.
“For example, I’ve got one Q award compared to artists who have four or five, so I can’t start thinking I’m on top of the world.
“There’s a legacy to be made that ain’t going to make itself.”
But despite his many achievements this year, nothing will be better for the ‘Big For Your Boots’ hitmaker than finding out his album had topped the UK charts in February.
He told Q magazine: “Definitely the album going to number one was the highlight. That’s not a bad one.
“It was so early in the year that so much has happened since, but then I always think, ‘Nah, that one’.
“That feeling was a different kind of feeling.”
And Stormzy is very proud he released the album on his own through his own label.
He said: “I always said that I had to do my first album by myself, it’s got to be independent.
“Sometimes there’s this stigma about true artists, that they can’t equate to mainstream success, that true artists are never going to top the charts.
“But I felt like I was able to be myself and not compromise, while also having a successful album.
“Before I started music, I always felt there were artists on top who are always true.”

Andy Grammer’s new song was lullaby to baby daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Grammer’s new song was originally a lullaby he sang to his baby daughter.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter has revealed his new track ‘Always’ – taken from his new album ‘The Good Parts’ – holds a special place in his heart because he played it to his now-three-month-old daughter Louisiana to get her to sleep.
Speaking to Billboard, he said: “I was singing that to my daughter right when she was born, and she was still kind of crying. I’d put her in a little cart and do a lap singing that song to her. It’s very sweet and emotionally connected to me… I’ve been bumping it in the car – me and my little three-month-old, we go to coffee dates every morning and I play that song to her, it’s so sweet.”
And that wasn’t the only song on the album that he played to little Louisiana as he has admitted ‘Spaceships’ was one he sang to her while she was in the womb.
He explained: “That’s like, the best bridge I’ve ever written, which is comparing to the womb – which is the world before this world – and wherever you go when you die as the place after. As I was singing into the womb to try and let Louie know that she was coming to someone that loves her, I imagined, while I was singing to her, ‘Ah, I wonder whether my mom is doing that to me from wherever she’s at?’ She passed away. But that’s such a cool idea.”
‘The Good Parts’, which was released last week, features some of Andy’s most personal songs – including ‘Smoke Clears’, which documented his health scare.
He said: “It’s very autobiographical, about a health scare that happened when we were on vacation in Ireland. I fainted in the shower and chipped my tooth and looked like I was having a seizure because I hadn’t slept in like, two years.”

Moby’s global success made him the ‘worst version’ of himself

OHMYGOSSIP — Moby’s global success made him the “worst version” of himself.
The 52-year-old musician hit the big time with his 1999 album ‘Play’ – which sold over 10 million copies and have every track licensed to films, TV shows and adverts – and he has admitted the attention he received made him “insane” while he indulged in a lot of “depraved” behaviour.
He told Mojo magazine: “A lot of degeneracy, depravity, hedonism, sybaritic behaviour came after that…
“I had a lot of insecurity and in the course of just a few months, you had everyone in the world celebrating you like you’re some demi-god.
“Every woman you’ve ever longed for is suddenly in love with you.
“It didn’t just make me insane, it made me the worst version of myself that I could be.
“I became entitled but also anxious, my alcoholism went out of control, but so id my self-loathing. It sort of rearranges your neutral architecture – wonderful when it’s happening but when it starts to go away, that’s when you really start to lose your mind.”
The ‘Porcelain’ hitmaker admitted there were a lot of “unnecessary” releases connected with the album, but he didn’t want his success to end.
He said: “We mined the album to the point where there was nothing left. The last real single was a version of ‘Honey’ with Kelis and Pharrell.
“‘Play’ had been out for two years and I remember thinking, ‘This is just unnecessary’. But I wanted that success to go on forever.
“I wanted to stay drunk and promiscuous ad surrounded by sycophants.”
And after reaching the peak of success, Moby admitted he then had a seven-year downward spiral behind closed doors.
He said: “The next seven years was a downward spiral of entitlement and bitterness and belligerence… it didn’t happen in public much, it happened on tour buses at four in the morning or in my apartment after 15 drinks and $300 worth of cocaine.
“For a while it did bother me, that nothing I did after that had the same level of success and to my shame there was a time in the 2000s when I desperately wanted to claw my way back to the success I’d had with ‘Play’.”

SC3 announce charity single

OHMYGOSSIP — SC3 are releasing their first ever single.
The trio of Jo O’Meara, Bradley Mcintosh and Tina Barrett are members of S Club 7 but after performing as a threesome on and off for 10 years they are finally bringing out a song under their own name, entitled ‘Family’, on Friday December 8 with proceeds going to charity.
The song was written and produced by songwriter Simon Ellis, who was the man behind S Club 7’s hit singles ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’ and ‘Don’t Stop Movin”, both of which reached the top of the UK Single Charts.
The track was originally pitched to the group as their comeback single for the full S Club 7 reunion tour in 2014.
It has been confirmed the trio – who chose the name SC3 to avoid upsetting the rest of S Club, Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Paul Cattermole – will be donating part of their proceeds from the song to charity.
Although they are not currently performing as a seven-piece, the door is not closed on them getting back together in the future.
Rachel, 39, hopes that S Club 7 will have a 20-year reunion in 2019.
She previously said: “The hardcore fans want a 20-year reunion and I could see that happening. It will be something we’ll have to talk about.”
The ‘Don’t Stop Moving’ group all reunited in 2014 for Children In Need and an arena tour.
Speaking about that reunion, Rachel said: “It was so fun when we did the reunion tour a few years ago, it was absolutely brilliant and it was so lovely to see everyone again. Nostalgia is a big thing to people and we really felt that. It was perfect for what we wanted to get out of it for the fans.”
In their career, S Club 7 scored four number one singles, sold more than 13 million albums worldwide and had a hit TV show.

Radiohead won’t attend Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony

OHMYGOSSIP — Radiohead won’t attend the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in 2018 if they are chosen to be inducted.
The ‘Creep’ group – made up of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway – are on the long list of nominees for next year’s honourees, which will be narrowed to five inductees this month ahead of the show in April.
However, a representative for the band – nominated alongside the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Bon Jovi and Nina Simone – has confirmed that they won’t be going to the ceremony.
It appears Radiohead’s South American tour dates will provide a clash with the Hall of Fame event, with their Buenos Aires show taking place on April 14, the same day as the scheduled ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio.
It comes after the band responded to news of their nomination by suggesting that hip hop icon Dr. Dre should be inducted ahead of themselves.
Suggesting it was a British trait to struggle to not celebrate your own success, Ed, 49, said: “It’s in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies … I would never want to disrespect anything because obviously some amazing artists have been nominated.
“But if I’m honest I don’t understand it … [And the Hall of Fame is] a little bit thin on black artists and hip-hop artists. I’m just speaking as a fan of American music, I would have thought that Dr Dre should have been in there two years ago. His name should be first on the list way ahead of Radiohead.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Vedder signed a cheque for around £22,000 to continue Pearl Jam’s concert after the curfew at Dublin’s 3Arena.
The ‘Better Man’ hitmakers ended up doing a mighty 32 songs at the show in June, and a fan has claimed the 52-year-old rocker paid the staggering amount to perform beyond the 11pm time limit.
Eddie is believed to have walked off stage briefly to sort out the money before continuing to perform the rest of the set, which included Bob Dylan covers.
A fan wrote on the group’s forum on PearlJam.com: “A lad who works at the 3Arena said Eddie walked off stage and signed a cheque for €25,000 (£22,000) so he could keep playing.”

Clean Bandit’s second album coming in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit will release their second album in 2018.
The ‘Rather Be’ hitmakers are set to drop the highly anticipated follow-up to 2014’s debut record ‘New Eyes’, and they have confirmed plans for a new LP “early next year” while explaining the reason behind such a long gap between the two.
Speaking to Fault magazine, bassist and saxophone player Jack Patterson said: “It just takes us so much longer to create each piece of music. But our second one is nearly done – hopefully early next year.”
Meanwhile, cellist and vocalist Grace Chatto revealed that the upcoming album will be “more serious” than their first, but it’ll still have a “dancey” sound for fans to enjoy.
She added: “I think the first album was a lot more light-hearted. While our second album, with the lyrics anyway, are more serious. Some of them are about breaking up, like ‘I Miss You’ and ‘Tears’, which will both be on the album. The music is still quite dancey.”
It comes after the ‘Rockabye’ group – completed by drummer Luke Patterson – revealed they have written a song specifically for One Direction star Harry Styles.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Grace recently said: “We really want Harry Styles to sing one of the songs that we’ve got. I’ve been trying to get in contact with him, but it’s hard.”
Recent single ‘I Miss You’ was recorded with American singer Julia Michaels, who joins a long list of acclaimed female vocalists who have worked with the dance band, such as Jess Glynne, Louisa Johnson, Zara Larsson and Anne-Marie.
Although it seems as though Clean Bandit prefer to work with women, Grace insists they have recorded lots of music with male singers, people just haven’t heard them yet.
She explained: “We actually have made a few songs with male singers. We have one with Rhodes, with Elton John and Gallant, who is incredible.
“I might try to put those songs together, release all the boy songs before the album because they are all a bit more leftfield.”

Liam Gallagher mocks Noel’s X Factor Italy appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher sarcastically joked it’s a “yes from him” after his brother Noel performed on ‘The X Factor’ in Italy.
The former Oasis bandmates and brothers have been feuding since August 2009 when Noel quit the rock band following a backstage bust-up in Paris and Liam’s jibes against his older sibling have intensified this year with his constant Twitter jibes.
Noel, 50, appeared on the talent show on Thursday (30.11.17) to perform ‘Holy Mountain’ – from his new solo album ‘Who Built The Moon?’ – and Oasis classic ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, and Liam logged on to the social media site to let the guitarist know what he thought of his appearance.
The 45-year-old singer teased: “I wanna congratulate rkid on his performance on X factor tnight it’s a yes from me as you were LG x (sic)”
He then described Noel’s decision to perform on the pop star search show as “embarrassing”, and also aimed a dig at Paul Weller, who lent his guitar skills to Noel’s recent album ‘Who Built The Moon?’, as well.
He added: “Not a f***ing peep … bout the creepy 1 embarrassing himself on X factor wonder what is mate WELLARD thinks bout it LG x (sic)”
In replies to some fans tweets back to him, the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker told them he felt it was his responsibility to “shine a light” on Noel’s less than cool behaviour.
Liam tweeted: “He’s always been the monkey on my back or the devil in my shoulder … I told you I’d shine a light on the shit that’s why he’s got his shades on.”
Noel has been asked twice by ‘X Factor’ creator Simon Cowell to be a judge on the UK version but turned down the job offer because he’d rather be sat at home watching it on TV.
The ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter previously said: “It’s been twice. A guy calls me who works at Sony Records; he’s a good friend of mine I’ve known for years and years and years. His office was across the hall from Simon Cowell’s.
“Simon Cowell knew this guy was a friend of mine, and this guy called me up and he said, ‘Simon Cowell’s asking for your phone number, can I give it to him?’ I said, ‘What does he want it for?’ He said, ‘I have no idea.’ I thought he might want a song for one of the X Factor winners. A couple weeks pass, nothing happens and I’ve forgotten all about it, and then one Sunday afternoon this girl calls and says, ‘I’m Simon Cowell’s assistant, is it OK to call you in about five minutes?’ And he offered me the job to replace him when he first left ‘The X Factor’. I think to this day I’m still the only person who ever turned him down.
“It’s for the simple reason that I don’t want to be on TV every Saturday night. I’ve got better things to do. And with being on TV every Saturday night comes the endless promotion to do that. And I don’t want to be a TV star, you know? I explained all this to Simon Cowell, and I do like him; I’ve met him on several occasions. And he was being very insistent that it didn’t matter, we could work around [my schedule].”

Taylor Swift’s album released on streaming services

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Reputation’ is finally available via online streaming services, three weeks after it was officially released.
The ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ hitmaker dropped her latest record last month, but had withheld it from services such as Spotify and Apple Music until shortly after midnight today (01.12.17).
A video posted on the ‘Taylor Nation’ Twitter account confirmed the LP was “available tonight on all streaming services” to the delight of fans – including those who already own the album.
One excited follower tweeted: “Haven’t stopped listening to #reputation since its release, but you bet your ass I’m still freaking out about the streaming release. I. Love. This. Album.”
Taylor is yet to comment on the drop, although she has re-tweeted the video announcing the arrival of ‘Reputation’ on streaming services.
The 27-year-old singer famously withdrew her music from sites such as Spotify in 2014 in a row over royalties but after reaching a sales milestone with her ‘1989’ album, she agreed to make her music available to stream.
Her management announced on social media over summer: “In celebration of ‘1989’ selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA’s 100 million song certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight.”
previously put pressure on streaming giants Apple Music to change their policy not to pay artists for streams when users signed up for a three-month free trial.
She wrote on her Tumblr page at the time: “I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.”
Although Taylor acknowledged the move would not make a huge difference to her own financial wellbeing, she insisted her actions were not those of “a spoiled, petulant child”.
The ‘Blank Space’ singer concluded her letter: “It’s not too late to change this policy. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.”
Following the publication of Taylor’s letter, Eddy Cue, the Senior Vice-President of Internet Software and Services at Apple, vowed the company would change its policy.
He tweeted: “#AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period.
“We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.”
And in response, Taylor later agreed her ‘1989’ album could be streamed on the site.

Girls Aloud celebrate band’s 15th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh have celebrated the 15th anniversary of Girls Aloud.
The three friends got together on Thursday (30.11.17) to mark the day the ‘Sound of the Underground’ hitmaker’s first formed on ITV talent show ‘Pop Stars: The Rivals’ in 2002 and to reflect on their successful career in the music industry, which saw them release five albums before they embarked on their hiatus in 2009, although they reunited in 2012 for a 10-year anniversary tour before going their separate ways again one year later.
And Cheryl, 34, has hailed her time in the group as the “best, craziest years of [her] life”, and she is honoured she met Kimberley and Nicola, who she has praised as “two amazing, inspiring gorgeous souls” and her “best friends”.
The ‘Fight For This Love’ hitmaker – who has eight-month-old son Bear with her partner Liam Payne – shared a photograph of her with Nicola, 32, and Kimberley, 36, – who has sons bobby and Cole with her husband Justin Scott – on her Instagram account.
She captioned the post: “Sitting here drinking coffee with these two and watching babies 15 years later !!! Crazy how time flies… ?
“15 years ago today some of the best, craziest years of my life were just beginning. I had no idea what a life journey I was starting out on. We had some of the most amazing times of our lives and made some incredible pop moments to put the cherry on top.. In the end I left with these two amazing, inspiring gorgeous souls and the best friends anyone could ever ask for. (sic)”
Nicola also shared the same image of the trio, and she has described the moment the group was formed as a life changing moment.
She wrote: “Girls day with these two today. It is crazy to think that 15 years ago today we were getting ready for our last live show on TV before the public decided who they wanted to make up GIRLS ALOUD. All of our lives completely changed forever. No going back. I’m confident in saying that those early years of the band will always truly be the wildest ride of my life both personally and as a group and no one other than the 5 of us knows how it felt. Happy 15 years Girls Aloud, @cherylofficial , @kimberleywalshofficial , @nadinecoyle , @sarahnicoleharding , our team & the Alouders. (sic).”
The ‘Beat of My Drum’ vocalist also shared a string of videos of her and her fellow band mates on stage performing on her photo-sharing site.
Meanwhile, Kimberley simply declared her love to the troop.
She wrote: “Love you all @lilcola @kimberleywalshofficial @nadinecoyle @sarahnicoleharding (sic)”
However, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle were not as affectionate when they shared their nostalgic memories about the band.
Nadine, 32, uploaded a clip of the ‘Love Machine’ music video, which she captioned: “13 years ago we released ‘What Will The Neighbours Say’ ? Can’t believe how time flies!! (sic).”
While 36-year-old Sarah reflected on her time in the group in October, and shared a video of her riffling through Girls Aloud memorabilia and outfits she wore.
She wrote: “Who can remember which outfits I wore and when?! #pop #quiz #memories #GA #me (sic).”

Mary J Blige receives Icon of the Year Award

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary J Blige received the Icon of the Year Award at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards 2017.
The 46-year-old singer took home the prestigious title at this year’s extravaganza, which took place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on Thursday (30.11.17), and the ‘Family Affair’ hitmaker was “so grateful, so humbled” and “so thankful” to be nominated for the gong
During her acceptance speech, the star said: “Thank you to Billboard for this honour tonight. I’m so grateful, I’m so humbled, I’m so thankful.”
But Mary believes with the title comes a “huge responsibility”, but the star – who filed for a divorce from her estranged husband Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs earlier this year – wants to encourage other people in difficult position in their lives that they can “make it through”.
She continued: “When people look up to me, I want them to see my life and have it reflect theirs and understand that if I can make it through everything that I’ve made it through and still making it through, you can do it as well.”
Taraji P. Henson – who starred in ‘I Can Do Bad All by Myself’ in 2009 alongside Mary – presented the ‘Just Fine’ vocalist with the award, and during her hand over the 47-year-old beauty hailed Mary as being “bold enough” to speak out about her life experiences.
The ‘Empire’ star said: “You know that every word that she’s singing — that drips from her mouth — she’s experienced. The fact that she’s bold enough to share her truth and get so many people through broken hearts, or uplift so many people…that’s a gift.”
Following Taraji’s speech a video was shown, which saw Puff Daddy – who was previously known as Sean Combs but has since adopted the monikers Love and Brother Love – and Ne-Yo gush about Mary.
Speaking in the clip, the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker said: “With Mary, it was just her voice.
“She will go down in history as the greatest female R&B singer of all-time. Queen of hip-hop soul.”
During the evening Camila Cabello was honoured with Billboard’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year title following her split from the girlband Fifth Harmony.
On receiving the accolade, which was presented to her by Diplo, the ‘Havana’ vocalist dedicated the award to her mother, Sinuhe.
She said: “The only reason I’m standing on this stage and on this soil in this country is because of one woman, my mom… thank you to the woman of life.
“I have the most incredible example of what it means to be a woman… this is for my mom.”
Kelly Clarkson was also recognised with the Powerhouse award, while Kehlani took home the Breakthrough Artist gong and Grace Vanderwaal – who has recently released her new album ‘Just The Beginning’ – collected the Rising Star title.
Solange Knowles was the first ever star to receive the Impact Award, while Selena Gomez picked up one of the greatest accolades on the evening and was named the Woman of the Year.
And the 31-year-old artist is overwhelmed with how her work, including the celebrated project ‘A Seat At The Table’ has “connected” with people.
She said: “I have so much gratitude in my soul for how the way my work connected with people. When I think about the word impact, I can’t think of a more humbling way to articulate the mark that I would have liked to leave on the world with this work.
“It’s a new goddamn day and I’m loving it.”
The ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ vocalist has since taken to social media to further show her gratitude to her fans for supporting her throughout her career.
She tweeted: “man thank you again and again and again to every one who has supported my journey and evolution and allowed me the space to get here im still learning and unlearning so much thank you all for these moments, for these mediums, for this year, for these past 10 years (sic).”

Amy Lee saddened by Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell’s deaths

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Lee has admitted she struggled with news of both Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell’s tragic deaths earlier this year.
The Linkin Park front man took his own life aged 41 in July, following the Soundgarden star’s own suicide aged 52 in May, and the Evanescence singer has revealed the two devastating deaths hit her hard.
Speaking to Billboard, she said: “It’s very sad and very difficult to watch people so close in our circle struggle that way and to actually lose them. That’s something that rocked the world, but especially the rock industry.”
The ‘Bring Me To Life’ singer spoke candidly about her own struggles, and insisted her band’s music – including new single ‘Imperfection’ should be a source of hope for their fan base if they are going through tough times.
She added: “[I want them] to feel like they can connect [with] something that’s hard to talk about – meaning pain, struggle. I think it’s a misconception for people to think our music is depressing. It’s hopeful; it’s always been hopeful.
“I want that to be the message from us: that there is hope and that we’re searching for something better … We want to do what we can to reach our hand out and say, ‘This life is worth living,’ because I really do believe that.”
While Amy, 35, does want to reach out with her lyrics, she admitted she primarily writes for herself, and considers it emotional that she can reach out to other people with the songs.
She said: “I have my own issues, my own flaws, my own struggles. I think a lot of the time that I’m writing songs [they] are [to] some degree motivational, like, ‘Come on, pull out of it.’ Most of the time, I’m talking to myself. It’s a beautiful thing that it extends itself to helping other people.”

Florence Welch releasing first poetry book

OHMYGOSSIP — Florence Welch has confirmed she will release her first collection of lyrics and poetry in 2018.
The Florence + The Machine singer will release her first book ‘Useless Magic’ next summer with her own original artwork accompanying her words.
She revealed the exciting news on social media on Thursday (30.11.17), sharing an image of the project’s front cover, which features a burning heart.
Florence wrote: “Extremely honoured to announce that I will be releasing my first book of collected lyrics and poetry with Penguin Books next year x x (sic)”
The collection will hit shelves on July 5 next year, with Penguin imprint Fig Tree publishing the book.
The 31-year-old musician also shared a snapshot of the preface from the project, giving fans a hint at what to expect.
In the passage shared on Twitter, Florence reflects on the power of music, and admits her understanding of her own lyrics isn’t always realised until much later on.
She writes: “Songs can be incredibly prophetic, like subconscious warnings or messages to myself, but I often don’t know what I’m trying to say till years later. Or a prediction comes true and I couldn’t do anything to stop it, so it seems like a kind of useless magic.”
It comes after Florence revealed earlier this year she has always found it easier to pour out her feelings in songs rather than express them by talking to people.
She said: “I find it easier to explain myself in music than in person. Songs are like protective talismans. In daily life, I’m much more unsure and shy.
“It’s like hiding in plain sight… If I tell you that I’m struggling or in pain but dress it up and make the loudest noise ever, I can get it out. I can tell the truth but still hide behind the noise I’m making.
“On stage, something takes over. When I sing there is a huge sense of release. I am very in love with the world and quite afraid of it as well; my feelings come on really strong. In real life I have to find a way to shut that down. Stage is a place where it all makes sense and people aren’t going to think I’m crazy.”

Ed Sheeran duets with Beyonce

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran duets with Beyonce on his new remix of ‘Perfect’.
The British singer/songwriter has teamed up with the R&B superstar on a fresh version of his recent single, which will be unveiled to the world on Thursday (30.11.17).
Sharing an image of his ‘Divide’ album artwork on Instagram with a snow flake background, Ed announced the exciting news by writing: “Got Beyonce to duet with me on Perfect, comes out today at 7pm ET / 4pm PT / midnight GMT x (sic)”
Ed originally said the song would be out on Friday, as he teased something special from the highly anticipated remix.
Speaking to Channel 4 Radio in the United Arab Emirates, he previously said: “It’s a really f***ing big deal … The vibe is that it’s a remix to ‘Perfect’. I’m just basically going to ‘Despacito’ ‘Perfect.’ ”
It will be Beyonce’s third collaboration of the year, after she appeared on ‘Mi Gente’ with J Balvin and Willy William, and Eminem’s huge new track ‘Walk on Water’.
It comes after Ed admitted he was dead set on making a record where his songs are sung by the purrs and meows of cats, but ditched his plans when he found out it had already been done before.
He said: “I really, really wanted to make a Meowlbum, which is all my songs with Meow in it. My cats are twin sisters and amazing in their own way.”
