Liam Gallagher loves Noel but wants him to come to his senses

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has admitted he loves his brother Noel – but wishes he’d “come to his f***ing senses”.
The former Oasis rocker has insisted he is no longer fussed about reuniting the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ band – who split amid a row in 2009 – and despite their war of words over the years, he still cares for his sibling on some level.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard newspaper, he admitted: “Yeah, I love him, man. He’s my brother at the end of the day. He’s just a bit f***ing snobby. A bit pompous. A bit like … some of these c***s here. Though I’m sure they’re all nice people.”
The ‘Wall of Glass’ singer is getting ready for Christmas, and he has a special seasonal wish for his brother over the festive period.
Asked what he would like as a gift this year, he candidly said: “I’ve got everything, man … No, I tell you what I want: I want Our Kid to come to his f***ing senses. It’s in him, innit?
“That’s what I want for Christmas. Maybe a couple of s*** review and poor album sales, he’ll soon come round, won’t he? Listen, I enjoy the banter.
“But I’m [not] f***ing arsed about reforming Oasis. I’m quite happy doing this. Just him coming to his senses. He used to be funny but now he’s just … not bitter. Just a bit mean-spirited.”
Both Liam, 45, and Noel, 50, have been doing the rounds in the press to promote their new solo records, ‘As You Were’ and ‘Who Built The Moon?’ respectively, but the former hasn’t been impressed with some of his brother’s comments.
He ranted: “It’s ridiculous. He’s embarrassing, that c***, the s*** that’s coming out of his mouth at the moment. He needs to have a long holiday with Bono.”
It comes just days after Noel insisted in an interview that his upbeat music with High Flying Birds could be powerful enough to “defeat” ISIS and Donald Trump.
Speaking about the themes, he said: “It’s unashamedly a f**kin’ pop record. It’s about the joy of beautiful women, nights out and nights getting f**kin’ high, and all the things that we live in life.
“All the things that the f**kin’ terrorists hate. I reckon if I went to Syria and played it for Isis, it’d all be f**kin’ over. I reckon it’d even turn Trump around.”

Camila Cabello reveals why she’s reluctant to collaborate

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello was reluctant to work with other artists on her solo album because she “collaborated for five years” as a member of Fifth Harmony.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter left the chart-topping girl group in December last year and has revealed that her much-anticipated solo effort won’t feature many collaborators.
But, during a conversation on SiriusXM, she added: “I would love to do something with Kendrick Lamar. The 1975. I don’t know if you guys know them. Yeah, they’re awesome.”
Camila also admitted that in the immediate aftermath of leaving Fifth Harmony, she felt under pressure to deliver a hit record.
But now, the brunette beauty has a more philosophical approach to her music.
She explained: “I remember feeling super nervous, but there was a time where I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter that much. It’s music! It’s not that deep.”
Meanwhile, Camilla previously admitted she felt like she’s had to “prove” to her collaborators that she’s a real artist.
The singer – who has worked with the likes of Diplo and Shawn Mendes – said: “I just really wanted to prove to people that I had something to say and that I wasn’t just a singer, that I was an artist, that I had a point of view and knew exactly the song that I wanted to write or the lyrics.
“The first few weeks were me really wanting to prove that to people and prove to myself to. People I was writing with were like, that’s actually a really great lyric, or that’s a really good idea, or oh yeah we should do that!
“That made me less and less insecure to the point where by the end of it, I feel like the last studio session I went to, I would come in and know exactly what I want and not be afraid to say it.”

Lionel Richie cancels Vegas show to help family

OHMYGOSSIP — Lionel Richie cancelled his Las Vegas show to help his family affected by the California Wildfires.
The ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’ hitmaker is currently in the midst of his ‘All the Hits’ residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas but didn’t perform on Wednesday night (06.12.17) so he could be with his family.
He wrote: “Due to the devastating California Wildfires, and helping family evacuate to a safer place, I unfortunately have to cancel my show tonight. I look forward to returning to the stage this weekend and performing for my fans.”
Lionel is “very supportive”, particularly of his daughter Sofia Richie and her new relationship with Scott Disick.
Speaking about her dad’s reaction to her romance with the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star, Sofia said: “He’s good. He’s been very nice. He’s been very cool. He’s very supportive, whatever that means.”
However, he had previously admitted he was “scared to death” about the pair’s new romance.
He said: “Have I been in shock?! I’m the dad, come on. I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?”
Whilst a source added: “He thinks Scott is the worst person she could ever see and that he raised her better than that. He thinks she should have more respect for herself as a young woman. Lionel knows Scott’s playboy ways and he doesn’t want to see his daughter get hurt.”
And Lionel – who has three kids – would love to expand his brood and have more children eventually.
He said: “I’m willing to become a father again. I might have just let a secret slip there, but so be it – Lisa and I are cool with the idea of children. Marriage, on the other hand, is a very different issue, it’s a bad idea for men. I’ve been there twice and it was very expensive for me. I’ve no idea to go there a third time – women have killed it for me. Kids aren’t the problem – ex-wives are. That’s why I won’t marry again, but I’m happy to commit in other ways.”

Declan McKenna wins BBC Introducing prize

OHMYGOSSIP — Declan McKenna has been crowned BBC Introducing’s Artist of the Year.
The 18-year-old British singer is the first recipient of an award for this year’s BBC Music Awards and is “eternally grateful” to receive the accolade.
Of the honour – which was handed to ‘White Tiger’ hitmaker Izzy Bizu last year – he said: “I’m delighted and honoured to accept this award from BBC Music Introducing.
“I’d like to say a big thank you for relentlessly rooting for me throughout the years. No award could ever overshadow the time, effort and support given by so many others to get me to the point I’m at now, and for that I’m eternally grateful!”
On how the BBC has helped launch his career, he added: “I uploaded a bunch of demos when I was 14 or 15 because there were all these amazing bands coming out of BBC Introducing at the time.
“I remember being played on Three Counties, which was my local station. They had me in the studio, which was cool, because I’d never done anything like that before.”
Dan Roberts, editor for BBC Music Introducing, said: “For the past 10 years BBC Music Introducing has supported the best new and emerging artists, taking them from bedroom demos to Maida Vale sessions, and local gigs to UK and international festivals.
“Having first uploaded his music to Introducing when he was just 15 years old, Declan makes the perfect recipient for this year’s award. BBC Music Introducing has been at every step through Declan’s musical career and we look forward to hearing what comes next.”
Declan and all of the other winners will be announced at the live show ‘The Year in Music 2017’, which airs on BBC Two on Friday (08.12.17).
Liam Gallagher, Stormzy, Sampha, Rag’n’Bone Man, Foo Fighters, and Dua Lipa will all feature in the one-hour musical extravaganza.

Noel Gallagher: Who Built The Moon? ‘could defeat’ ISIS and Trump

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher believes his album ‘Who Built The Moon?’ is powerful enough to “defeat” ISIS and Donald Trump.
The former Oasis star thinks his joyous new music has got what it takes to destroy the controversial US President and the terrorist group, because it’s “everything they hate”.
Speaking about the themes, he said: “It’s unashamedly a f**kin’ pop record.
“It’s about the joy of beautiful women, nights out and nights getting f**kin’ high, and all the things that we live in life. All the things that the f**kin’ terrorists hate.
“I reckon if I went to Syria and played it for Isis,
it’d all be f**kin’ over. I reckon it’d even turn Trump around.”
The ‘Holy Mountain’ singer – who has 17-year-old daughter Anais, whom he has with ex-wife Meg Matthews, and sons Sonny, seven, and 10-year-old Donovan with his spouse Sara MacDonald – has no interest in politics, except for Republican Trumps’ “f**king scary” ideas on global warming because it could affect his children’s lives.
He said told Rolling Stone magazine: “F**k Jeremy Corbyn. He’s a Communist.
“Trump’s a … a … I’m not even going to name him.
“But they [Corbyn and Trump] don’t affect my life.
“Well, Donald Trump, maybe, because his views on the environment are pretty f**king scary, and that will affect my children.
“But politicians? They’re f**king idiots.
“They’re economists – that’s all they are. They’re f**king full of sh*t, and I should know, because I’ve known quite a few of them.”
It comes after Noel slammed bands like Foo Fighters and Green Day for writing “boring” songs about current affairs.
The ‘Some Might Say’ songwriter says they should be thinking of ways to be more “revolutionary”, like himself, and writing uplifting tunes.
He ranted recently: “I think that guitar music has become more about f***ing shouting, like Dave Grohl, what’s he on about? Green Day, and the guy from Queens of the Stone Age, what are they shouting about? They’re shouting about the f***ing news. Who wants to sing about the news?”
He added: “The news is boring. Donald Trump is f***ing boring. Politics is boring. The little fat guy from North Korea, he looks funny, but he’s f***ing boring.
“So why would you want to write music about that [stuff]? I think to write songs about joy and hope is f***ing revolutionary. There, I just said it, revolutionary.”

Stone Roses signal end as touring company’s set to dissolve

OHMYGOSSIP — The Stone Roses’ touring company is set to dissolve this month – adding to speculation the band have split.
Documents available for the public to view on Companies House show that Second Touring Limited, which was activated in 2015, is to be struck off with a First Gazette Notice set for issue on December 24, if no immediate action is made by the band.
It follows the iconic Manchester group’s frontman Ian Brown hinting at their demise.
The ‘I Am the Resurrection’ singer sparked concern among fans that they have gone their separate ways once more following the end of their current run of UK tour dates.
At the end of their gig in Glasgow’s Hampden Park on June 24, the singer told the crowd: “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened.”
Distraught fans of the band – who split in 1996 before reforming in 2011 – took to Twitter to discuss Ian’s comments.
One fan wrote: “I’m actually going into mourning now the Roses have split.”
Another posted: “Glad I got to see The Stone Roses twice before they split tonight, still sad though.”
There hasn’t yet been any official announcement about the future of the group, who have released two singles, ‘All For One’ and ‘Beautiful Thing’ since getting back together.
However, despite being released over a year ago, the band – which is completed by John Squire, Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield and Alan ‘Reni’ Wren – have still not played ‘Beautiful Thing’ live.
While the group entered the recording studio for their first new album since 1994’s ‘Second Coming’ last year, the record has yet to materialise.
However, their friend Noel Gallagher previously said the band were very excited by their studio sessions and felt the album was comparable to their seminal self-titled 1989 debut LP.
He previously said: “I am very excited, for them mainly. They’re going to play some new songs (live). I bumped into Ian in a supermarket recently. He was buying chocolate flavoured shower gel. This is not a joke. He leant in and said, ‘Have you tried this?’ And I said of course I hadn’t. He swears by it, says it’s amazing. And before it turned into a photo shoot with everyone and their camera phones, he was telling me how excited they are by it all. He said it was like they were making their first record again.”
When previously asked how the album was coming along, Ian said “glorious” and promised it would be coming out “soon”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears’ songwriter Steve Anderson has teamed up with musicologists, composers and choirs to create the ultimate Christmas song.
The single features key components identified by musicologist, Dr Joe Bennett, to make people happier including sleigh bells ringing and 21 mentions of the word ‘Christmas.’
‘Love’s Not Just for Christmas’ is available now on Spotify and was co-written by Steve – who has also penned and produced hits for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Westlife and Take That – and aims to bring festive joy to shoppers at intu shopping malls in the UK in the lead up to the festive period.
Steve said: “Over the years I have been lucky enough to have written and produced Christmas tracks and albums for a number of artists including Kylie, Susan Boyle and Harriet, who co wrote this song with me. Hopefully we’ve risen to the challenge and provided a song people will love not only this Christmas, but for every Christmas to come.”
The full music video features the London Community Gospel Choir, and overnight it has been viewed over 13,000 times.
‘Love’s Not Just For Christmas’ was co-written by Steve and Harriet Green, and will be performed by choirs at intu centres throughout December in an effort to bring festive joy to Christmas shoppers.

Noel Gallagher praises his ‘scissor queen’

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says his scissor player is a “queen” and will be allowed to do anything she wants when he and his band the High Flying Birds go tour.
The 50-year-old rocker sparked a furore on Twitter from his brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher and his fans when he performed his new song ‘She Taught Me How To Fly’ on weekly UK music show ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ in October with a backing singer playing the stationary shearer.
Noel has praised his quirky French bandmate for her flair and attitude and he is willing to indulge her every whim when the group hit the road to promote his third solo LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’.
Taking part in a new GQ interview series called ‘Actually Me’, which sees stars reluctant to engaged in social media set up secret accounts on Twitter, Reddit, YouTube and Instagram to speak to their fans, the ‘Holy Mountain’ singer was asked if his scissor player gets her own soundcheck.
Posting on Twitter under the username @ActuallyNoelG, he cheekily replied: “She is the scissor queen, she can do anything. She does not get a sound check because we have yet to do an actual gig. She doesn’t have a scissor tech, either, because scissor techs don’t exist. But no doubt she’ll want one. And if she wants one, she can have one, because she’s amazing.”
Noel also responded to a fan who jokingly asked why his High Flying Birds band and Liam’s touring group both have members that look like the ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter.
When quizzed if it was a contractual obligation, the guitarist answered: “I’m afraid to say that it is. But you know, at least we don’t have two girls who look like Noel, because that – nobody wants to see that.”
Noel had previously vowed to never join Twitter as he didn’t want to have to engage with his estranged sibling Liam, 45, who uses the social media platform to regularly attack his older brother with his “potato” jibes and attacks on his new music.
‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker Liam has admitted that he “could kill” his career every time he tweets but he thinks the reason he has amassed 2.61 million followers is because people enjoy his honesty.
The singer previously said: “I could kill my career every weekend when I get on that Twitter or talk in interviews. But it is what it is. People want a bit of honesty. Everyone’s sick of politician rock ‘n’ roll stars who are saying one thing one minute and not saying it the next.”

Alice Cooper wins top honour at SSE Scottish Music Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper won Best International Artist at the 19th SSE Scottish Music Awards.
The 69-year-old shock rocker was bestowed the honour on Saturday (02.12.17) at the Nordoff Robbins Fundraiser in Glasgow, Scotland.
Accepting his award in advance when playing Glasgow’s SSE Hydro last month, Alice recorded a special video message that was played at the ceremony at the city’s Old Fruitmarket, in which he said the key to his longevity was ensuring the “quality” of his live show.
He said: “Thank you this is great. You have to survive this business long enough and rock ‘n’ roll business is not the easiest thing … We’ve been doing it 50 years and keeping the quality of the show and music up really is the whole trick to doing it. In my case though they do cut my head off every night so it’s a matter of survival! Thanks very much!”
The ceremony is held each year to raise money for music charity Nordoff Robbins Scotland. This year they raised over £148,000 for the music therapy charity.
Alice has just finished a hugely successful UK-wide tour, his first full UK Tour in five years, which included a stop at the SSE Hydro.
The shows saw Alice reunited with the original Alice Cooper band and schoolmates Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce.
The Alice Cooper band split in 1974 after which Alice went on to continued success as a solo artist.

Gwen Stefani wants Christmas number 1

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani’s dream is to have a number one Christmas single that is popular every year like Mariah Carey.
The 48-year-old beauty released festive LP ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’ in October, and has revealed her aspiration to be able to live off the one song each year like Mariah does with ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, the 1994 single which she wrote and produced with Walter Afanasieff, that is played around the world every year.
Gwen said: “As a songwriter, that’s the ultimate dream.
“The idea of having a song that repeats every year.
“I mean, every year Mariah Carey is like, ‘Here I am again!
I’m back! Even if I don’t have a record out this year, I’m back at Christmas!’
“That was the idea – I was going to get the basketball and try to score a basket.”
The ‘Sweet Escape’ hitmaker says she’s going to have the “best Christmas ever” this year as she has been in the festive spirit since Spring, when she started making the Yule Tide record.
The ‘What You Waiting For’ singer has enjoyed witnessing the “magical connection” the tracks have with her fans, especially the album-titled duet with her boyfriend Blake Shelton.
She told the BBC: “You never know with any music if it’s going to connect.
“But this record, so far, has been kind of magical.
“It’s probably going to be my favourite Christmas I’ve ever had – and it’s been going on since April!”
Gwen – who has sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, nine, and three-year-old Apollo with British ex-husband Gavin Rossdale – made a rare appearance in the UK, where she hasn’t performed in a decade, at the Westfield London Christmas light switch on last week, where she shared how getting to record a Christmas album was like being in a “snowglobe”.
Speaking before her performance, she said: “It was like being in a snowglobe the whole time. I just had this little place to have fun and make music. Over the years, anyone who has listen to my music, I am just so grateful to be here and sharing my story through music has been incredible, but to make memories of Christmas through writing music…”

Sir Paul McCartney recalls his Kanye West collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney had to check whether he featured on the final version of ‘FourFiveSeconds’.
The 75-year-old icon collaborated with Rihanna and Kanye West on the 2015 hit, but Sir Paul has conceded that the delay between him recording his bits for the track and its release led him to question whether he ultimately featured on the record.
He recalled: “I was sitting around with Kanye for a couple of days and I didn’t think we’d written a song, ’cause I was just playing around, noodling. I was expecting for an idea to come out there and then, but his way of working is he takes all these little noodles away and he makes spaghetti.
“He’ll play with it and curate it and do this with it and get somebody else to do another bit. So, it was months later when I got a track in the post and it was ‘FourFiveSeconds’ and I listened to it and it’s Rihanna singing.”
Sir Paul enjoyed Rihanna’s vocals on the track, but was still unclear as to whether his input had been used on the final version.
Speaking to ABC in Australia, he explained: “I thought ‘This is great, I love her singing it’ but I had to ring up and say ‘Am I on this?’, you know. Yeah, they said ‘You wrote all the guitar parts and that inspired us’. I said ‘Okay, great thanks’.
“They’d sped it up. That’s what I’m saying, I would do something one way that I’d recognise and – hang on – I’ll show you! I was doing this [plays guitar] and doing some chords and he brought a ‘I think I’ve had enough’ but what happened was he took it up to D. That’s where it is on the record. So, no wonder I didn’t recognise it.”

Camila Cabello’s solo LP will be released in January

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello has finished her album and named it after herself.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker originally titled her first solo record since leaving Fifth Harmony as ‘The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving’, but on Tuesday (05.12.17) she took to Instagram to confirm her final title, ‘Camila’, and reveal how making the LP helped her find her “way back” to herself.
Fans who pre-order the release on Thursday (07.12.17) will be given two free songs, ‘Never Be The Same’ and ‘Real Friends’ as an instant grat, with the full album available on January 12, 2018.
Sharing the artwork on Instagram, the 20-year-old beauty captioned the post: “to my Camilizers …. my debut album is finally finished. now i’m trying to steady my heartbeat!!!!!!! thank you for being so patient with me this year, i can’t wait for you to hear what has been the soundtrack to the past year of my life… all of these songs have special memories behind them, and i’m not gonna lie, it feels emotional letting them go, feels like the end of a chapter… i decided to call it by my name, because this is where this chapter in my life ended. it started with somebody else’s story, it ended with me finding my way back to myself.
my album is gonna be available for pre order this Thursday, and i’m putting out two instant grat tracks with it…. one is called never be the same, and one is called real friends.
it’s in your hands January 12 (sic)”
Meanwhile, Camilla recently said she’s felt like she’s had to “prove” to her collaborators that she is a real artist.
The pop star wants her fellow artists to know that she is a great songwriter as well as a singer, and says hitting the studio with the likes of Diplo and Shawn Mendes “taught her a lot”.
She said: “I just really wanted to prove to people that I had something to say and that I wasn’t just a singer, that I was an artist, that I had a point of view and knew exactly the song that I wanted to write or the lyrics. The first few weeks were me really wanting to prove that to people and prove to myself to. People I was writing with were like, that’s actually a really great lyric, or that’s a really good idea, or oh yeah we should do that!
“That made me less and less insecure to the point where by the end of it, I feel like the last studio session I went to, I would come in and know exactly what I want and not be afraid to say it. And all of that is just experience and finding confidence in yourself. All the people I worked with were so nice and encouraging. It taught me a lot definitely.”

Ed Sheeran duets with Eminem

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has collaborated with Eminem on a song for the rapper’s new album.
The 26-year-old singer/songwriter admitted he was delighted to have teamed up with the ‘Stan’ hitmaker on track ‘River’ for his ninth studio album, ‘Revival’, because the US star was “one of the reasons” he started writing music.
In a caption attached to a picture of the rapper’s tracklisting for his album, Ed wrote: “I’ve had to hold onto this secret for a long time, but since it’s just been announced I can now tell you all. I did a song with Eminem for his new album Revival, which is out on the 15th of December. He is one of the reasons I started writing songs, and was such a pleasure to work with him. The song is called River, hope you like it. Yay x (sic)”
Eminem has teamed up with several stars on the forthcoming record – which will drop on December 15 – including Alicia Keys, Pink, Kehlani, and Skylar Grey.
He also duetted with Beyonce for the first track on the album, ‘Walk on Water’, which comes shortly after Ed teamed up with the ‘Single Ladies’ hitmaker.
The flame-haired star recently worked with her on his song ‘Perfect’ – a tune from his latest album ‘Divide’ – and admitted afterwards he was surprised she agreed to perform with him.
Ed said: “It’s something I kinda did just to see whether she would say yes. I just wanted to see what would happen. I can’t believe it, to be honest.
“It’s a really weird thing, it was just me and her and an engineer, which was very cool. To be on-on-one with someone you respect that much and be able to craft the song the way you envision without input from anybody else … that’s rare. When there are two people coming together like that, everyone has an opinion, you know?”

SC3’s children charity single

OHMYGOSSIP — SC3 are donating part of the money from their festive single ‘Family’ to The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
On Friday (01.12.17), it was revealed that Jo O’Meara, Bradley Mcintosh and Tina Barrett, who were members of S Club 7 and have performed as threesome for 10 years on-and-off, are finally bringing out a song under their own name, and now the charity they’ve decided to help out as has been confirmed.
The song was written and produced by songwriter Simon Ellis, who was the man behind S Club 7’s hit singles ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’ and ‘Don’t Stop Movin’, both of which reached the top of the UK Single Charts.
The track was originally pitched to the group as their comeback single for the full S Club 7 reunion tour in 2014.
Although the trio – who chose the name SC3 to avoid upsetting the rest of S Club, Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Paul Cattermole – are not currently performing as a seven-piece, the door is not closed on them getting back together in the future.
Rachel, 39, hopes that S Club 7 will have a 20-year reunion in 2019.
She previously said: “The hardcore fans want a 20-year reunion and I could see that happening. It will be something we’ll have to talk about.”
The ‘Don’t Stop Moving’ group all reunited in 2014 for BBC Children In Need and an arena tour.
Speaking about that reunion, Rachel said: “It was so fun when we did the reunion tour a few years ago, it was absolutely brilliant and it was so lovely to see everyone again. Nostalgia is a big thing to people and we really felt that. It was perfect for what we wanted to get out of it for the fans.”
In their career, S Club 7 scored four number one singles, sold more than 13 million albums worldwide and had a hit TV show.

Noel Gallagher rules out Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says an Oasis reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame isn’t going to happen.
The Britpop group’s former guitarist has poured cold water on speculation that the ‘Wonderwall’ rockers are going to reform for the one-off gig.
Noel was approached by bosses of the ceremony, who tried to persuade him to get the ‘Some Might Say’ hitmakers to perform and accept the opportunity to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2019 event.
However, the 50-year-old rocker says it will never happen because of his fractious relationship with his brother and the former group’s frontman, Liam Gallagher, who he’s barely spoken to since the band split up after a backstage bust-up at a festival in Paris in 2009, which resulted in Liam throwing his guitar around his older sibling’s head.
Noel said: “I’ve already been approached by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame… The f**kin’ fella from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame came to me and said, ‘Do you know in two years you’ll be eligible for the Hall of Fame?’ I said, ‘Is that right?’ He said, ‘Yes.’
“And he started going on, and I said, ‘Let me f**king stop you there. I know what it is. I know what it entails, and it won’t be f**king happening, OK?’
“He invited me down to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame itself and showed me all these exhibits of Oasis stuff. It’s a great place and all that, but I won’t be doing it, I don’t think.”
The ‘Holy Mountain’ singer – who recently released his third solo LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ – said that he thinks he is worthy of being inducted, but not his 44-year-old brother, who released his debut solo album ‘As You Were’ in October.
Asked if he thinks Oasis deserve the accolade, he told Rolling Stone magazine: “I certainly think I do … There could be a little miniature of me somewhere – a tiny little thing with a wobbly head.”
It comes after their rivals Radiohead said they won’t attend the ceremony in 2018 if they are chosen to be inducted.
The ‘Creep’ group – made up of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway – are on the long list of nominees for next year’s honourees, which will be narrowed to five inductees this month ahead of the show in April.
However, a representative for the band – nominated alongside the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Bon Jovi and Nina Simone – confirmed that they won’t be going to the ceremony.
