OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX isn’t sure if she will release any more albums.
The ‘Boys’ singer has just dropped the mixtape ‘Pop 2’, which features Carly Rae Jepsen, Tove Lo, Caroline Polachek, Cupcakke, Mykki Blanco and Jay Park and she admitted she prefers the immediacy of a mixtape, over the long drawn-out process of creating an album.
She told Vulture: “With the album, I don’t really know when I’m gonna put it out. Or even if I’m gonna put out an album. I just don’t know. And I think that’s what leads me toward making mixtapes. The way that I work and write is so fast, and releasing these mixtapes is very beneficial to that. I get so frustrated having to sit on music. I’ve been sitting on music for my album for so long now that people hacked me and leaked some music. For me to keep on being creative, doing these mixtapes is good. Generally, I don’t even really tell people when I’m working on it. It just happens. I’ll tell fans the week before the release, and I’ll tell the label two months before.”
And Charli revealed her latest mixtape only took two weeks to make.
She explained: “This one started happening just before I went on tour with Halsey when I was in London. Me and [producer] A.G. Cook do so much work together now and he’s so fast, so we were just like, ‘F**k, we should do another mixtape.’ We had this studio session where we made a few ideas, and then we went out and partied at this PC Music night. We didn’t do anymore work, but we knew we had some good ideas and we should probably finish them. He flew over to New York for these really hectic, mental four or five days where we would stay in the studio until 4 a.m. It was all being done while I was still on tour. In total, it took maybe two weeks. I would go into studios in L.A., Boston, Chicago, Austin, wherever and cut vocals. At the same time, I was sending s**t to other artists asking them to jump on songs. I guess it was a longer period than No. 1 Angel just because there are more features. Honestly, I feel really sorry for A.G. He kept killing himself trying to finish this back in London, staying up for 24 hours for a week. He’s really the hero of this mixtape.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce wasn’t Eminem’s first choice for ‘Walk on Water’.
The 45-year-old rapper teamed up with the ‘Halo’ hitmaker for the newly-released dance track, which features on his new album ‘Revival’, but his long-time collaborator Denaun Porter has admitted he initially wanted Adele to feature on the song but she couldn’t do it because there was something wrong with her voice.
Speaking on ThisIs50, Denaun – who also goes by the rap name Kon Artis – said: “It was intended for Adele but something happened with her and her voice so she couldn’t do it. We then reached out to Beyonce because there’s only a couple people that could pull that off.”
However, Eminem recently admitted that it’s been on his “wish list for a long time” to join forces with the 36-year-old singer and he knew instantly that track was for her.
He said at the time: “It [the collaboration] has been on my wish list for a long time, but I never really had a song that I felt like would be right to present to her. And based off what it was about, I felt like she probably could relate to this, too.”
And the ‘Love The Way You Lie’ hitmaker feels Beyonce could relate to this track as she is always under pressure to be perfect.
He explained: “You know, just because Beyoncé’s always … everything she does is so perfect. But, the pressures behind that to … for her to do it so perfect, you know, I felt like she could probably relate to that.
“‘Cause I told her, I said, ‘I never seen you make a mistake before, ever.’ Like, performance wise, everything. Every song she puts out, every album, it’s so calculated and precise. And everything’s always so perfect.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Shinoda vanished from a listening party for Linkin’ Park’s new album because he didn’t want to hear his late band mate Chester Bennington’s voice anymore.
The 40-year-old singer arranged for fans to hear the band’s live LP ‘One More Light Live’ on the day of its release yesterday (15.12.17) but he apologised after he left early because he couldn’t carry on hearing the rocker’s vocals without getting upset.
Taking to his Instagram account after the listening party, he said: “I did a listening party on Instagram Live today for the new album. I left early, and didn’t really give a reason. To be honest, it was because it’s hard for me to listen to Chester’s voice for that long. I’m fine, I just wanted you to know. Thanks for understanding. (sic)”
Chester sadly took his own life in July 2017 – after the band had finished the album -at the age of 41 and his band mates have dedicated the release to him.
They said in a statement: “We dedicate this live album to our brother Chester who poured his heart and soul into ‘One More Light.’ After we finished recording the album, we joked with Chester that – since he had delivered so many stunning performances in the studio – he had set the bar extra high to produce that alchemy on stage each night. Not surprisingly, he welcomed the challenge.”
The ‘Numb’ hitmakers – made up of Mike, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell and Joe Hahn – praised their lead singer for turning “pain into catharsis” with his emotional lyrics and thanked him for his “dedication” to the band.
The group added: “Chester was uniquely passionate, uncommonly generous, sensitive, optimistic, funny and kind. With his voice, he turned pain into catharsis, authenticity into art and passion into connection. His dedication to bringing these songs to life was triumphant. For those of you who attended this tour in person, we thank you. For those who could not, we hope this live album gives you a glimpse into how magical these shows were for the six of us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dire Straits could reunite for their Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame induction in April 2018, if they can work out a performance for the ceremony.
The ‘Sultans of Swing’ rockers’ bassist John Illsley has admitted it’s a bit too soon to be discussion any sold plans for the prestigious event, but he has suggested it is a possibility.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, he said: “I have absolutely no idea. It’s all come rather sudden today.
“It would be probably a little bit difficult for me to say how that would work. I don’t know. I don’t know right now.
“We’d have to think about that and see how we do this thing. I couldn’t say right now… I think we’ll just wait and see.”
Illsley admitted he was shocked when he heard of the iconic band’s nomination, and explained he always thought it seemed like an elusive “club” just out of reach.
Asked about his reaction to the news, he added: “It was surprise, I think. I don’t know why. It’s a club that I’ve always looked at and thought, ‘Hmmm. I wonder how you get into that one.’ Now I know.”
The group will be inducted alongside Bon Jovi, The Cars, the Moody Blues, Nina Simone and ‘Early Influence’ Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Illsley will be honoured alongside past band members Mark Knopfler, Pick Withers, David Knopfler, Alan Clark and Guy Fletcher.
The idea was presented to him that the Hall of Fame might be better known in the United States, but the 68-year-old British star admitted he’s been aware of it for a long time.
He said: “All I can say is that I’ve known about it for years, but I’ve never understood how it works. Really, I suppose, anybody that’s been in the music business can get nominated.
“I don’t know. It might be a bigger deal in the States. I really have no idea. All I can say is that I am very happy about it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Garvey immediately said yes to covering The Beatles for this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert – but didn’t want to put his own spin on the song.
The Elbow frontman and his band recorded a version of ‘Golden Slumbers’ for the store’s annual festive commercial, and while it was an easy decision, they were careful not to change the original too much.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Guy explained: “Cover The Beatles for an advert by Michel Gondry? The only answer was yes when John Lewis asked us … It did give us pause. Put it this way – in no way was it tempting to change it. It is like hallowed ground. I did add a very subtle vocal part but only because we made the song longer. It is very short, making it all the more genius. It comes and goes so quickly on that record.”
Over the years, John Lewis’ seasonal ad has been soundtracked by the lies of Aurora’s take on Oasis’ ‘Half The World Away’, Ellie Goulding’s cover of ‘Your Song’ by Sir Elton John, and Lily Allen’s rendition of Keane’s hit ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.
However, Guy had to admit he wouldn’t be able to name any of the previous acts to contribute to the festive TV spot, adding that his knowledge of pop music in general has “gaping holes”.
He said: “I couldn’t tell you a single one. There are whopping gaping holes in my pop knowledge. I once got Kerry Katona mixed up with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. My mate said, ‘You know she’s had all kinds of problems, her boyfriend cheated on her and drugs.’ And I said ‘But she’s a dame!’ I couldn’t quite match the two. I had the wrong person.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem has shared a joke with fans by launched a pun-filled pop-up spaghetti stand to celebrate the release of his new album.
The ‘Walk On Water’ rapper has returned with his latest record ‘Revival’, and he is celebrating his ninth LP – which was released on Friday (15.12.17) – while paying tribute to a popular internet meme based on his track ‘Lose Yourself’.
Referencing a lyric from the powerful call to arms – featured in his 2002 movie ‘8 Mile’ – which became an online in-joke with fans, the ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ pop-up food stall will be coming to his hometown of Detroit today and tomorrow.
He posted on Twitter: “Detroit! Come vomit up some spaghetti with me this weekend at our official #Revival pop up. Exclusive merch, spaghetti and more. (sic)”
The album features a number of collaborations – including Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Pink and Alicia Keys – and Slim Shady recently revealed he wanted it to be a diverse collection.
The ‘Not Afraid’ hitmaker spent over a year writing and working on the highly-anticipated LP – including scrapping earlier material to make way for fresher songs – and he feels it is a fair representation of himself as a person at the moment.
Speaking to Sir Elton John for Interview Magazine, he said: “I’ve been working on it for over a year. You know how it is – you make songs, and as you make the new ones, the old ones get old and you throw them out. The album is called ‘Revival’. It’s a reflection of where I’m at right now, but also I feel like what I tried to do was diversify. I’ve tried to make a little something for everyone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Massive Attack have accused Pete Tong of covering their music for his ‘Ibiza Classics’ album without their permission.
The ‘Unfinished Symphony’ duo – made up of Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall – have alleged that they weren’t approached for use of their hit ‘Unfinished Symphony’ on the DJs latest project, which sees him combine club and classical music.
In an angry statement posted to Facebook, 3D wrote: “Dear Pete Tong … Thanks for covering one of our songs on your nostalgia nightmare roadshow.
“I don’t recollect you getting in touch to see if we would mind, but for your information: When we play that song we display photos of displaced people in refugee camps by the photographer Giles Duley on the screen to raise awareness for their plight and collect money for UNHCR.”
Rather than call for Tong to stop using the song during his live performances with the Heritage Orchestra, the duo urged him to make a donation to the UN Refugee Agency from the money he makes from his record.
The statement continued: “If you do mean to carry on coining it, why don’t you divide your nightly profit by the number of songs you murder in your set, and hand the total of that one song over to UNHCR. It would be the least you could do.”
Tong – who has teamed up with conductor Jules Buckley on the project – is yet to respond to the allegations.
Recently, the superstar DJ commented on the changing club scene, and insisted his own audience has changed from hardcore ravers to families since working on the classical hybrid.
He previously said: “We are seeing different generations together enjoying the music. As much as it initially appealed to the clubbers from the 80s and 90s, now families are coming to the shows.
“The old clubbers don’t want to go out until six in the morning any more but still enjoy these songs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is set to work with producer David Holmes again on his next album and “send people over the edge”.
The ‘Holy Mountain’ singer has topped the charts with his new psychedelic LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ – which he has described as “cosmic pop” – but he and David are already planning something even more out there for his next release.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “If you think this one was far out then David has got an idea for the next one which is going to send people over the edge!”
His latest album gave former Noel his 10th number one in a row – a run which started with his old band Oasis’ acclaimed debut ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994.
After ‘Who Built The Moon?’ made history in the UK Album Charts, Noel, 50, has joked it has given him an even greater sense of “self-confidence”, and he believes people’s appreciation for LP will only increase with time.
He said: “It made chart history so this was the one that pushed me over the edge into sublime arrogance. I’m in my own universe now of extreme self-confidence. I think my new album has got legs and I think the longer it is around the more people will like it.”
It comes after Noel’s brother Liam, 45, claimed he’s “too rock ‘n’ roll” to join his sibling’s “naff band” The High Flying Birds when he was told by one of his 2.64 million Twitter followers to start practicing a new instrument so he could be part of the backing group.
Replying to the fan, who suggested her learns to play the tambourine – which he already uses on stage, Liam snapped back: “I’m too rock n roll for his naff band (sic)”
Liam’s debut solo album ‘As You Were’ also topped the chart and has so far outsold his older brother’s latest effort.

OHMYGOSSIP — Former Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge has hinted he could be set to return to the band after holding talks with drummer Travis Barker.
Tom was a founder member of the ‘All The Small Things’ rockers in 1992 but quit the band in 2015, and now the Angels & Airwaves rocker has shared a photograph on social media of a meeting he had with Travis.
Captioning the picture on Instagram, which shows a lot of camera equipment, he wrote: “So Travis calls me and asks me to do an interview…next thing I know all these cameras have invaded my office.
“I have a feeling he just wanted some super hi-res footage of my body.
“And yes Blinkies, we also talked a bit about other stuff. #TravisAndTomHoldingHands (sic)”
With over 27,000 likes, the post quickly sparked speculation among fans that Tom might be rejoining the band.
Blink-182 recently completed a tour for their comeback album ‘California’, their first record in five years, and their first with Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba taking Tom’s place in the line-up.
Travis joined Blink-182 in 1998 and performed with Tom and bassist Mark Hoppus until they took a break in 2005. The band reformed in 2009 but Tom quit in 2015 following a difficult tour.
There has also been recent talk of a Box Car Racer reunion. Tom and Travis also founded that band in 2001, with Angels & Airwaves guitarist David Kennedy, during Blink-182’s hiatus.
Tom has previously said: “Blink is in my DNA. I talk to Travis quite a bit and we try and figure out how and when it’s going to make sense.
“It’s not like I (permanently) walked away. They have someone doing my job for me. It’s just that I’m so busy. If I wanted to, I could be back (in the band) in a period of days.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams soon realised he’d made a mistake when he retired from music more than a decade ago – because his brain was turning to “Swiss cheese”.
The ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker decided to call it quits following the release of his flop seventh studio album ‘Rudebox’ in 2006, but after spending a lot of time sitting on the sofa watching bad TV he decided he had to come back and did so in 2009 with his LP ‘Reality Killed The Video Star’ – produced by Trevor Horn.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he admitted: “Yeah, 2006 happened, I went on tour and that just fried my brains and I decided that I retired. I didn’t tell anybody because I knew I’d possibly been lying to myself. I took to my home, stayed there and grew a beard, chased UFOs, watched ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’, Orange County, New Jersey, Atlanta, even Dallas … And in those three years off my brain turned to Swiss cheese. A man needs a purpose, which is why I came back.”
Robbie – who has spent time in rehab on numerous occasions throughout his career for alcoholism, substance abuse, depression and even an addiction to energy drinks Lucozade and Red Bull – has previously credited meeting his wife Ayda Field in 2006 with putting him back on track.
The pop star launched his career as a member of Take That and after quitting in 1995 he joined the boys in 2010 for a new album ‘Progress’ and tour.
Robbie, 43, is open to rejoining the band – which now tours as a trio, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen following Jason Orange’s departure – in the future because he had so much fun with the guys, even though it is hard work being part of their all-action shows.
Asked if he’d return to Take That, he said: “Yeah I would. Don’t know when that would be. I’m constantly having ideas about my own stuff that I want to fulfil. It’s a big commitment to re-join the band, go and promo the album for months then go on tour – it’s a whole 18 months out of my life. Last time was the perfect storm in the best way. We had this critically acclaimed album, did the biggest tour the UK has ever seen and it was an amazing period in all of our lives.
“I’d like to repeat some of that. I enjoy working with them. I enjoy hiding in public. I enjoy the camaraderie and I enjoy writing songs with them too so why not?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn ‘The Clown’ Crahan has hinted Slipknot’s next album could be their last.
The 48-year-old musician feels he is at the stage in his life where he has “done enough work” and admitted the heavy metal group, who are currently working on their sixth studio album, are “getting older”.
He said: “I feel like this could be it for me. We’re all getting older. I never like telling anyone like, ‘Hey this is it!’ Because I don’t have to, f**k everyone.
“But like I’ve said, I’ve been reflecting and there’s a lot of hard things that I could say about friends, brothers … We’re good, but it’s a big world. I’ve done enough work, I’ve produced and done remixes and art and performed, I’ve done enough where while I was in it none of it was registered.”
Shawn recently reflected on his life for four months while writing new music, and he feels “weird things are coming”.
Speaking on ‘The Jasta Show’ podcast, he added: “I just spent four months thinking about my life and where I’m at now because I’m at a real honest place of admitting of what I don’t want to be.
“A lot of it is bringing all this emotion to art and music. And honestly, this music that we’re writing right now is just like the proof of looking inward and being able to put the first foot down and say, ‘We’re gonna do something for ourselves and write’.
“So we’ve been writing and this music is coming out … I feel weird things are coming but it’s always like that for the guys like us, we get involved in our records and sky all of the sudden changes.”
In August, Shawn revealed the ‘Wait and Bleed’ hitmakers – made up of Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, Alessandro Venturella and Jay Weinberg – have 27 “pieces of work”, but were yet to have completed any tracks.
He said at the time: “Currently, we have about 27 pieces of work – about seven or eight are completed. They’re not completed songs, that’s far from the truth.
“That’s where people start fighting over Corey Taylor not being there or Jim wanting to do something else. We as artists have demanded that we get together every three or four months and blow our brains out with art. We’ve been trying to create as much art as possible.”
Slipknot’s latest album, ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ – their first record since the passing of bassist Paul Gray – dropped in 2014, following on from 2008’s ‘All Hope is Gone’.
The group’s self-titled debut album was released in 1999, and they dropped ‘Iowa’ in 2001 and ‘Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)’ in 2004.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lawson has released a charity Christmas single to raise money for ex-servicemen and women.
The 42-year-old singer has unveiled ‘Footprints in the Snow’, his charity single to help raise money for Walking With The Wounded’s Christmas campaign, Walking Home For Christmas.
The track will help to raise more than a quarter of a million pounds for the charity, which helps former serviceman and women get back into civilian life by helping them gain employment by transferring their military skills into the civilian workplace, for example.
Edward Parker, co-founder and CEO, of Walking With The Wounded said: “Too many of our ex-military have little to look forward to this Christmas. They’ve walked in far more dangerous environments for us, so it is the least we can all do to organise a walk for them.
“We want people to throw on a Santa hat, call up old friends and raise some funds so that we can support these men and women back into work, back into independence and into a place where they can look forward to and enjoy Christmas with their families.”
The song is already a huge hit and Ed Sheeran – who signed Jamie to his own label Gingerbread Man Records – has been putting his backing behind it, sharing it on his social media channels. Prince Harry – who is the Expedition Patron of the charity – also had a chance to listen to the song at a recent private reception.
Richard, who served four years as a Trooper in the 13/18th Royal Hussars, said of the campaign: “This time last year I was living homeless. Thanks to WWTW and the Walking home for Christmas campaign, this Christmas I am in a job and have a roof over my head. I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my godson and his family. I’ll be able to buy them presents, something I never thought possible.”
As part of the campaign, Walking With The Wounded are asking people to take part in a sponsored walk of any sort between Friday 8 and Sunday 17 December to raise money for wounded ex-servicemen and women.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorja Smith first met Drake when she was buying tampons and wine gums at The Co-op supermarket.
The ‘One Dance’ rapper’s 20-year-old protégé – who teamed up with Drake for the track ‘Get Together’ from his 2016 ‘More Life’ mixtape – was just causally buying essential items at the store in Birmingham, England, where he was performing, when the 31-year-old hunk casually walked in.
Speaking to Luke Franks about being 2018’s recipient of the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and her first encounter with the hip-hop star, Jorja shared: “He came because I was at the Birmingham show and he came to The Co-op. I was buying Wine Gums and tampons and he came in and the guy that worked there – I went to church with him – he was like ‘what?’ he saw (Drake) walking in, and I was like ‘hey.’ He was like what the hell is Drake doing in the Co-op?”
Jorja beat off stiff competition from London rapper Stefflon Don and R&B star Mabel to receive the prestigious accolade.
The trio recently performed at the iconic Abbey Road studios in London for the BRITs.
Jorja sung ‘Teenage Fantasy’, Stefflon did her French Montana feature ‘Hurtin’ Me’, whilst Mabel did ‘Finders Keepers’.
Jorja previously said of her prize: “I cannot believe it, it’s been an unforgettable 2017 during which I’ve fulfilled so many of my dreams and this is such a special way to end the year… and to be part of an all-female shortlist alongside Mabel and Stefflon Don, who’ve both had incredible 2017s, makes it even better! There’s lots more to come in 2018 from all of us and I will do my best to make it another memorable year!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Richie Sambora is excited to celebrate Bon Jovi’s career at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in April 2018.
The legendary guitarist – who spent 31 years in the ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ band before leaving four years ago – said their induction will be a “joyous” occasion as he reunites with his former bandmates for the show.
Speaking to Billboard, he said: “It’s the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – it’ll be a joyous occasion. I was there for 31 years and we sold 150 million records or something and we put a lot of a**es in seats in stadiums around the world and made a lot of people happy.
“I did so many different jobs in that band, so, yeah, I’m showing up for that. Everybody should have a smile on their face and a smile in their hearts and it should be a celebration of what we did.”
The group will be recognised alongside The Cars, Dire Straits, the Moody Blues, Nina Simone and ‘Early Influence’ Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Sambora – who explained he decided to leave the band because of a desire to work on other projects and spend time with his family – added that being inducted was a huge honour.
He explained: “It’s great to be recognised for anything you do. It’s fabulous to be in line with the greats and your heroes that you grew up listening to and emulating.
“When you put me in line with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan and the Beatles and everyone else who’s there, it’s a big honour.”
Meanwhile, frontman Jon Bon Jovi – who currently completes the line-up alongside – David Bryan, Tico Torres, Phil X and Hugh McDonald – suggested there was never any doubt Sambora would be back for the ceremony – which takes place on April 14.
He recently said: “He was my right hand for a long time, so there was never ill will, just like I told everybody. [He] just didn’t show up anymore.
“We went on, but he was there for three decades and he should be there to celebrate the moment. So he’ll be invited to join the rest of the band in all of the festivities.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine says they could go into the studio “tomorrow” to start work on their next album.
The heavy metal rockers brought out their 15th record ‘Dystopia’ in January 2016, and now the frontman has teased they already have a wealth of material written for their next record.
Speaking to Loudwire.com, he said: “If you’re a musician, you constantly think music, you emote music, so we’re always creating.
“As far as giving you a definitive date when we’re gonna go into the studio, we could go tomorrow if we wanted to. We have enough songs.”
However, fans shouldn’t get too excited at the prospect of the ‘Hangar 18’ group – whose current line-up is completed by David Ellefson, Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren – jumping back into the studio already, as Mustaine admitted he wants to make sure they take time out between albums, for the benefit of the music and their own personal lives.
He explained: “We’ve got to live life in between records — that’s what Sting said. You need to live life in between records or else your lyrics are stupid.”
Any new music that the band decide to work on is likely to stick to the same sound they have become known for, as Mustaine revealed earlier this year that he likes the “real chunky metal sound” and can’t see himself deviating from that anytime soon.
He previously said: “I think every time I pick my guitar up I think about what were those first riffs that I liked to play, the stuff that energises me.
“I think any guitar player worth his salt is going to have his favourite licks that he likes to play. I like that real chunky metal sound.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975’s Matt Healy has shared a cryptic teaser for the band’s new EP.
The ‘Sex’ singer has been hinting at another EP release before the band’s third album next year, and on Wednesday (13.12.17), the 28-year-old frontman changed his Twitter bio to read what appears to be a catalogue number for their label Dirty Hit.
The letters “DH00280” are also on a black post on all of his social media accounts.
Whilst their manager, Jamie Oborne’s bio reads the numbers: “DH00271”
The British rockers – who are also made up of Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel – recently confirmed they will drop a third LP ‘Music for Cars’, in 2018, and the ‘She’s America’ rocker teased fans another EP was on the cards.
He tweeted: “Okay – one more EP (sic)”
Matt then shared what appeared to be the name of the group’s new mini album.
He wrote: “What A Shame – The EP (sic)”
The ‘Chocolate’ star previously confirmed the group’s new album would be called ‘Music For Cars’, sharing the name with their third EP which dropped in 2013.
Speaking earlier this year, Matt said: “‘Music For Cars’ was an EP named for our love for Brian Eno.
“We’re using it as the album title now because of how meta and self-referential everything has become in the world of The 1975, and ‘Music For Cars’ was always my favourite title of everything we’d ever done, so it kinda made sense to wrap it up that way.”
‘Music For Cars’ is expected to drop on June 1 after he tweeted the date out recently, and also repeated it while the group were headlining Latitude in July.
In August, Matt confirmed the new record will feature a song called ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’.
He shared the start of the album’s playlist on Instagram and captioned the post: “The need to start editing.”
