OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie is seemingly still undecided on her tracklisting for her debut album.
The ‘Heavy’ singer reached out to her to 291,000 Twitter followers on Tuesday (09.01.18) to ask them how many songs they’d like to have on the record, suggesting she’s still a way off releasing it.
She wrote: “Talk to me about the album. How many songs on there? (sic)”
The pop star also shared an ad-lib of her singing about girls not having to be perfect, wear certain things and look a certain way to impress men, in what could become a new track.
Apologising for using explicit language in the clip, Anne-Marie wrote alongside the video: “Felt like I needed to write/say this tonight. Just a vibe. Nothing serious. Just the voice in my head. ‘Motherf**ker’
#sorryfortheswearing (sic)”
And she sings: “I can feel the burn of your eyes on the back of my t-shirt.
“I’m guessing you are another one of those guys who don’t like my style.
“Tell me why I don’t wear my dresses short or grow my hair down the back of my back, well let me tell you I don’t do it like that.
“That’s that. Motherf***er if you don’t like the way I talk, you don’t have to listen.
“And I will never be something I’m not just because of your opinion.
“Say women should always have make-up on to look good for the man, well let me telling I’m not f**king with that.
“And that’s that motherf***er.”
It comes after the 26-year-old star said being “good at talking about her feelings” makes her a good songwriter.
The ‘Ciao Adios’ hitmaker is a very “open person” and feels that informs her lyrics, but admits she struggled with “figuring out the structure of writing a song” at first.
She said: “It works in my favour that I’m quite an open person. I’ve always been good at talking about my feelings; that helps with writing songs. It did take time figuring out the structure of writing a song or what melody works better, but it’s a good process.”
Anne-Marie likes to write about her own experiences as it makes her performance of the track better as she has experienced it on a personal level.
She added: “I think a massive part is writing your own stuff. I don’t think I could write about something I’ve never experienced or felt; all my songs are about things I’ve been through. I feel like if I’ve written a song about something I haven’t experienced I wouldn’t be able to perform it properly and people would be able to see that.
“People can see right through that. I feel the song every time I sing it. It never gets boring, it’s fresh every time. That’s really important. Hopefully the songs relate to other people so they can feel it as well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Willie Nelson has postponed several concerts after falling ill with flu.
The 84-year-old singer reportedly rushed off stage after appearing to struggle with his breathing and having a coughing fit whilst midway through his show at the Harrah’s Resort SoCal casino, in San Diego on Saturday (06.01.18).
The country icon’s 26-year-old son Lukas Autry Nelson issued a statement on his father’s condition on Tuesday (09.01.18), where he revealed he would have to postpone further gigs, including planned performances at the McCallum Theater in Palm Springs and the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas this month.
He wrote on Twitter: “Apologies all, Dad has the flu so we cancelled this week’s gigs in Cali and Vegas.
“If you have tickets, please contact the venue for a refund and we hope to see you on the road again soon (sic)”
A representative for the ‘On the Road Again’ hitmaker revealed to The San Diego Union Tribune newspaper that Willie would not be performing the concerts he had scheduled for January, in order to recover.
The Grammy-winning star is expected to return to the stage on February 7, at the Macon City Auditorium, Georgia.
Ticketmaster revealed that they would issue refunds to those who had purchased tickets.
It’s not the first time Willie has battled with his breathing, in 2017 he was forced to axe his Salt Lake City show due to suffering with respiratory issues, caused by the altitude.
At the time, he said in a statement: “This is Willie. I am very sorry to have to cut the Salt Lake City performance short tonight. The altitude just got to me. I am feeling a lot better now and headed for lower ground.”
Earlier in the year, the ‘Whiskey River’ star missed out on a number of concerts due to ill health.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorja Smith says Stormzy kept her waiting in the studio before recording their collaboration.
The 20-year-old singer teamed up with the chart-topping rapper on their new single ‘Let Me Down’, but has revealed that the grime star – whose real name is Michael Owuo – was late arriving to their music-making session.
She shared: “Stormzy was so late.”
But Jorja – who is the recipient of the 2018 BRITS Critics’ Choice Award – has promised her fans that, in the end, the wait was proven to be worthwhile.
Speaking to Beat 1’s Julie Adenuga, Jorja explained: “It was cool, because his verse made up for it. He is sick. The track … it’s magic.”
Drake’s protege also spoke about her approach in the studio, revealing she’ll often make little mistakes during recording, because she enjoys “a live performance”.
She said: “I like live-sounding things.
“I like a live performance, so I make like little mistakes, because that’s what makes perfect, the mistakes.”
As well as being a big fan of Stormzy, Jorja is also a huge admirer of Amy Winehouse and hopes to make a similar mark in the music industry to the late star.
The singer admitted she envied the music icon for penning one song in particular from her debut studio album ‘Frank’.
She explained: “There’s none of her songs that I skip. My favourite is ‘I Wish You Sent Me Flying’. I wish I wrote that.”
And like her idol, Jorja is determined to make heartfelt music during her career.
The British star reflected: “I want to be a voice people listen to and feel good or sad, or whatever.
“I get loads of messages from people telling me they’ve been helped through some bad relationship when they’ve listened to my song. That’s what I want to do.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl is fed up of being asked about rock ‘n’ roll being “extinct”.
The Foo Fighters frontman – who has just been announced as a first time performer at the 2018 BRIT Awards on February 21 – is always quizzed about the lack of guitar and rock bands on the scene, but he says it couldn’t be more alive, especially after the US rockers sold out both nights at London’s 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium last year.
He fumed: “I don’t believe in the school of thought that says rock ‘n’ roll is an extinct genre – I’ve been answering the same question for 25 f**king years now.
“Every time I release a record they ask how it feels to be ‘one of the last’.
“But I look around and I see a hell of a lot of rock bands.”
Dave says he has no doubt that he and his peers will continue rocking stadium-size crowds for years to come.
The 48-year-old rocker – who is joined by Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jafee in the band – told the Daily Star newspaper: “I remember giving an interview in London two years ago and the journalist asked, ‘Don’t you feel obsolete? Most of today’s groups don’t have guitars or drums.’
“And then we sold out two nights at Wembley Stadium.
“So no, I think we’re OK and we’re going to be just fine.”
The former Nirvana drummer insists that the key to their longstanding success is keeping his ” rock star ego” in-check.
The ‘Run’ singer – who will kick off another stadium run at The London Stadium on June 22 – concluded: “If you think about it too much it can change your ego and transform you into a f***ing rock star.
“I continue to think of life in a simple way – we make albums, play concerts – but at the end of the day we’re just a group.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John is a huge fan of Camila Cabello.
The 70-year-old music legend has tipped the former Fifth Harmony star to have an “amazing year” following the success of her chart-topping song ‘Havana’ and with the release of her hotly-anticipated self-titled debut solo LP, which is released on Friday (12.01.18).
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker heaped praise on the 20-year-old beauty, calling her “gorgeous” and complimenting her “great attitude”.
He said: “Camila Cabello just had the huge hit with ‘Havana’, I think she’s going to have an amazing year because she’s just so gorgeous and so much fun and she’s got a great voice and she has great attitude.”
Elton says if he ever got the chance to meet Camila, he’d be sure to tell her how much her music makes him “smile” and want to dance.
Speaking on his Apple Beats 1 Radio show, Elton said: “I think 2018’s going to be an amazing year for her. I have never met her. Never spoken to her, never, but I just love her.
If I spoke to her I would just say, ‘Congratulations, you make me happy. Your records make me smile.’
“I just love that attitude, there’s a vibrance here that makes me feel good. It makes me want to get up and dance.”
And the ‘Rocket Man’ star is in luck, as the ‘Crying in the Club’ singer previously admitted that after originally thinking the album would be full of “sad songs”, she has now found it to be more upbeat than she expected.
She said: “At first I thought it was gonna be, like, a sad-song album. Then the more I got into the year, it just was better. I felt way happier. I feel that it has a good balance of the emo and the happy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters will make their live debut at the BRIT Awards next month.
The US rockers have picked up four gongs from the prestigious event over the years – three for International Group in 2008, 2012 and 2015, and Best International Album for 2008’s ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace’ – but have never performed before, and can’t wait to play at London’s The O2 on February 21.
Sharing their excitement about getting to add the milestone to their history, the ‘Sky Is A Neighbourhood’ group’s frontman Dave Grohl wrote on their Twitter: “How the f**k have we never played at #BRITs before!?!?! We’ve had a ton of firsts over in the UK…you guys have always been so good to us. Why not add 2018 BRIT awards to the list??!?!? Let’s make some noise. See you there, Dave (sic)”
It comes after a stellar 2017 for the ‘Best Of You’ stars, which saw the band headline Glastonbury, open their own temporary pub in London and sell-out their UK arena tour.
BRITs chairman & CEO and chairman of Sony Music UK & Ireland Jason Iley said: “Anyone who was lucky enough to witness one of their shows on the recent sold-out UK tour, or their set at Glastonbury – which was undoubtedly one of the best performances the festival has ever seen and a night that will be talked about forever – will know why Foo Fighters are the biggest and most exciting rock band in the world.
“Quite remarkably they have never performed at The BRITs, so I am over the moon to confirm a massive BRITs exclusive to have them grace our stage.”
Foo Fighters join previously confirmed performers, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy and Dua Lipa in taking to the stage for what looks set to be a show-stopping show.
The Mastercard-sponsored ceremony will see British comedian Jack Whitehall host.
On Saturday (13.01.17), the awards will kick off with the nominations launch show, ‘The BRITs Are Coming 2018’, which will once again be hosted by Emma Willis, and will air on UK TV channel ITV from 5.45pm.
Liam Payne, Jorja Smith, Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit and J Hus will perform.

OHMYGOSSIP — Radiohead have denied they are suing Lana Del Rey.
The ‘Born To Die’ singer has claimed the band are seeking 100 per cent of the publishing rights to her track ‘Get Free’ due to its similarities to their 1993 hit ‘Creep’ and that she was facing a legal battle.
But a spokesperson for the band – fronted by Thom Yorke – from Warner/Chappell has issued a statement to Pitchfork insisting that while “discussions” have taken place, there is no lawsuit.
The statement said: “As Radiohead’s music publisher, it’s true that we’ve been in discussions since August of last year with Lana Del Rey’s representatives. It’s clear that the verses of ‘Get Free’ use musical elements found in the verses of ‘Creep’ and we’ve requested that this be acknowledged in favour of all writers of ‘Creep’. To set the record straight, no lawsuit has been issued and Radiohead have not said they “will only accept 100%” of the publishing of ‘Get Free’.”
Lana, 32, had tweeted: “It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court. (sic)”
The track on her latest album, ‘Lust For Life’, is currently credited to Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels.
Lana, who has just begun her world ‘LA To The Moon Tour’, told a crowd in Denver in the US earlier this week: “I just want to say that I do have a particular song that Radiohead wants 100% of my publishing for, and actually the only reason why I mention it is I wanted to let you know … that regardless of what happens in court, the sentiment I wrote in that song, which was my statement song for the record, my personal manifesto, my motto manifesto.”
The ‘Video Games’ star has postponed her Kansas City concert after falling ill with flu.
The ‘Born To Die’ hitmaker was due to perform at the Sprint Center on Tuesday (09.01.18), but took to Twitter to inform her 8.29 million followers that she won’t be recommencing the run until Thursday (11.01.18) in Chicago, to give her time to recover.
But Lana has reassured her fans that promoters are doing all they can to “make up the date”.
She wrote: “Kansas City, Missouri, I’m so sorry to have to cancel the show tomorrow but I’ve come down with the flu so I’ll be resuming the tour in Chicago. We will try and find a make up date – and refunds are available at point of purchase. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion was forced to cancel her show on Tuesday (09.01.18) while recovering from “inflammation of the throat”.
The 49-year-old singer axed her show on Saturday (06.01.18) at Caesars Palace due to the illness and was told by medics she needs a bit more time to recuperate before taking to the stage again to had to call off her latest performance as well.
A statement on her Facebook page read: “Céline is recovering from inflammation of the throat and her doctor has instructed her to take one more day of rest in order to fully recover.”
But she is hoping to resume her performances at the legendary music venue on Friday (12.01.18).
A message posted on her Twitter account yesterday read: “TONIGHT’S SHOW CANCELLED. We regret to inform you that tonight’s performance of “Céline” at @ColosseumatCP has been cancelled. Céline is on doctor’s orders to take tonight to rest. Céline is expected to resume performances at The Colosseum as scheduled on Friday, Jan. 12. – TC (sic)”
This comes after the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker invited a female fan on stage during her performance at the Palace last Friday (05.01.18) only for the supporter to wrap her leg around the star and start humping her.
Celine said afterwards: “Let me tell you something. I’m glad you came up onstage tonight.
“I’m glad that … I thought you just wanted to come closer to me. But you know what, I’m glad you came closer to me.”
She then started singing: “I love you, you love me.”
Security rushed to Celine’s aid but she asked them to stop and told the woman it was “OK” and that the guards were her “friends”.
Lady Gaga will also start a Las Vegas residency later this year, and Celine is keen to duet with her fellow Sin City singer.
She recently said: “Oh don’t get me started now. I would love that. I love her so much. I can’t wait. Come on, Lady Gaga, we’re waiting for you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric Clapton is suffering from deafness and struggling to strum the guitar.
The 72-year-old guitar legend is set to perform a special concert at London’s Hyde Park on July 8 for the British Summer Time festival, and has revealed he’s anxious about being able to play the instrument and sing “proficiently” due to the ailments he has including tinnitus, a ringing coming from inside the ear.
In an interview with Steve Wright on BBC Radio 2 on Tuesday (09.01.18), he shared: “I am still going to work. I am going to do a show at Hyde Park in July.
“The only thing I am concerned with now is I am going deaf, I’ve got tinnitus, my hands just about work.
“I mean, I am hoping people will come along and see me, me more than I am a curiosity.
“I know that is part of it, because it’s amazing to myself that I am still here.”
The former Cream star was speaking in promotion of his new film, ‘Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars’, which hits cinemas on Friday (12.01.18), and said it’s hard to watch the movie in full because it looks back at some tough times he’s experienced.
He admitted: “It’s difficult to sit through because it goes on so long about the difficult part of my life.
“I think it’s important for people to see that there is a happy ending, it’s like a redemption concept.
“If you are going to go and see it, be prepared for a heavy ride.”
The ‘Layla’ hitmaker revealed last year that he’s been in pain after damaging his nervous system, which is why he’s finding it hard to perform, however, he’s “come to terms with it”.
He said at the time: “I’ve had quite a lot of pain over the last year. It started with lower back pain, and turned into what they call peripheral neuropathy.
“[It’s] hard work to play the guitar and I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that it will not improve.”
Clapton, who spent most of the 60s and 70s under the influence of alcohol and drugs until his sobriety in 1987, had said that he would limit the number of concerts he does to avoid “embarrassing himself”.
He said: “What I’ll allow myself to do, within reason, is carry on recording in the studio.
“I don’t want to go off the boil to the point where I’m embarrassing myself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Black Eyed Peas have released a new song without Fergie.
The ‘My Humps’ hitmakers – will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo – have dropped political track ‘Street Livin’ which focuses on gun violence and other issues in the US, for their first single since 2016’s ‘#Wheresthelove’ remix “featuring The World”, a version of their hit song ‘Where is The Love?’.
Alongside a link to the music video, they wrote on Twitter: “We have the POWER to make change together.
Prison Industrial Complex. Immigration. Gun Violence. Police Brutality. These issues are critical for our families, friends, communities, and world. Stay Woke, Take Action Now. #BEPStreetLivin (sic)”
It comes after will.i.am previously said Fergie could rejoin the group in the future, if they decided to reunite in Virtual Reality (VR) form.
The producer and ‘The Voice UK’ coach said: “There are infinite possibilities for the world to create.
“We could create virtual Black Eyed Peas.
“You could go back to when we started the group in 1998 and experience that story, you could go back to when we first got signed in 1997 when we first got signed to Interscope.
“What we were thinking in 2003 when we put Fergie in the group, there’s so much you can do.”
It’s not yet known if ‘Street Livin’ is a one-off single or whether the band are in the studio preparing a follow-up to 2010’s ‘The Beginning’ LP.
‘London Bridge’ hitmaker Fergie – who released her second solo record ‘Double Dutchess’ in September – insisted at the end of 2017, that she hasn’t officially quit the group, and that she would love to team up with her bandmates on a new album.
She said: “I’ve never left The Black Eyed Peas. We’ve never broken up officially, I guess we’re just on a break. We’re family. They’re like my work family. That’s forever.
“Honestly, I would have loved to be able to do my album in one tenth of the time, do a Black Eyed Peas album in that same time, tour both, have another child. There’s just not enough hours in the day.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake’s long-time collaborator says ‘Man of the Woods’ will “create a new world order”.
The ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ hitmaker debuted a totally different sound on lead single ‘Filthy’, and Danja – who co-produced with the likes of The Neptunes and Timbaland – says Justin is ready to share with the world his roots as an artist, which vary between hip-hip and R&B to country music.
Addressing speculation that the 36-year-old star has gone completely country on the album, Danja – whose real name is Floyd Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Hills – told Complex magazine: “I don’t know who ever said he was making a country album. You know, he’s always mixing a lot of different things together.
“It’s always funk, R&B, soul, hip-hop, country.”
Sharing a description of the forthcoming release, he said: “I like to think of ‘Filthy’ as the disruption between the world we’re living in and his world.
“‘Filthy’ was just that kick in the door: “I’m here, let me erase everything that you’ve been listening to.
“”Let me disrupt the order, the world order and kind of create a new world order with this world that he grew up in.”
On Monday (08.01.18), Justin announced an arena tour in support of the record, which will kick off at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on March 13, before wrapping it up in his hometown of Memphis on May 30.
It will be his first full tour in four years following the ’20/20 Experience World Tour’.
In a promo clip posted on social media, Justin explained that he was inspired by the outside on the record, and that that will be reflected with his production.
He said: “The outdoors is the inspiration for a lot of these songs. That’s the main idea. The tour will be able to bring the outside in.
“How can we bring that to life? I want people to see the inspiration for how it ended up sounding. I’ve never seen that done before — bring the outside in.”
The ‘SexyBack’ singer recently revealed his record focuses on his wife Jessica Biel and their two-year-old son Silas, as well as his roots in Memphis.

OHMYGOSSIP — Geezer Butler has dashed hopes of Black Sabbath playing one-off shows in the future.
The legendary metal band’s bassist and lyricist says the chances of him playing anymore gigs with his bandmates, frontman Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Tony Iommi, are very slim, especially as singer Osbourne – who will headline Download Festival this June – is on his last solo tour.
Speaking on Full Metal Jackie’s radio show, he admitted: “[It’s] not very likely at all. I think Ozzy is going out on his farewell tour, so that will be him touring for the next two or three years. So I don’t think there will be any chance of doing any one-offs or anything like that – which I’m fine with. We went out on a high, and it’s best not to drag it out.”
However, there is hope that the ‘War Pigs’ hitmakers could make new music, possibly another studio LP, if Iommi has anything to do with.
The ‘Paranoid’ rockers wrapped their ‘The End’ tour with their last-ever hometown show in Birmingham last May, with a two-hour concert at the NEC Arena, and the 68-year-old musician was even keen to do the odd gig in the future.
He said previously: “I’m going to miss playing on stage because that has been my whole life, the band and playing on stage. I like [playing on stage] and I’m sure it’s not going to end like that; I’m sure we might do a one-off show somewhere.
“It’s just the touring for me – It’s time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit … I’m still going to write and put stuff out.”
Quizzed on whether they’ve decided there won’t be a follow-up to 2013’s ’13’ LP, Iommi said: “No, I don’t think we’ve ruled anything out apart from me not wanting to tour anymore on that scale, but who knows, we may do something. We haven’t spoken about it.
“That’s another thing – we haven’t talked about anything, really, that’s to do with what’s going to happen afterwards.
“But I’m sure something can happen somewhere.”
Iommi made the decision to give up travelling on the road with the band after being diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in 2013.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ producers originally intended for Justin Bieber to sing with Rita Ora on ‘For You’.
Bosses at Universal Pictures were desperate to get the pop megastar on the track “with or without” Rita, after securing Taylor Swift on the last movie, ‘Fifty Shades Darker’, with former One Direction star Zayn Malik on ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’.
However, the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker was reportedly intent on not taking on extra jobs during his hiatus.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Originally Universal Pictures wanted Justin Bieber to sing a song on the soundtrack, either with or without Rita.
“He’s the biggest male pop star in the world and so that’s what they aimed for.
“They had the world’s biggest female pop star in Taylor Swift do the last film, so they were keen for something a bit different because Zayn Malik sang that with her and he comes from One Direction as well.”
Zayn’s former bandmate Liam Payne ended up recording the track with the ‘Your Song’ singer, which he was over the moon with.
In a newsletter to his fans, the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker wrote: “Buzzing to start the new year having a new single out with Rita Ora called For You! We had a lot of fun making this in the studio so I hope you like it! It’s the lead track from the new Fifty Shades Freed movie. It’s out now so go give it a listen. (sic)”
Meanwhile, lead star Jamie Dornan has recorded a cover of Sir Paul McCartney’s hit ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ for the soundtrack.
The 35-year-old actor stars as Christian Grey in the final instalment of the ‘Fifty Shades’ series which was based on the trio of novels by E.L. James, and it seems as though his starring role won’t be the only contribution he makes to the movie.
According to the official tracklisting – which was announced on the movie’s Instagram page on Monday (08.01.17) – Jamie lends his voice to a rendition of the song, which was first released by the former Beatles legend in 1970 for his album ‘McCartney’.
The track was never released as a single, but a live version was recorded with Paul’s post-Beatles band Wings for their live album ‘Wings Over America’, where it became a top 10 hit in America and reached number 28 in the UK.

At her Denver show on Sunday (08.01.18), Lana said that the track from her LP ‘Lust For Life’ could be removed from the record, but that it would not stop her benefiting from her personal attachment to the song.
She told the crowd: “I just want to say that I do have a particular song that Radiohead wants 100% of my publishing for, and actually the only reason why I mention it is I wanted to let you know … that regardless of what happens in court, the sentiment I wrote in that song, which was my statement song for the record, my personal manifesto, my motto manifesto.
The ‘Video Games’ singer recently confirmed reports that the indie rock group are suing her for copyright infringement.
She wrote: “I just want to let you know that regardless of what gets taken down off of everything, those sentiments that I wrote, I really am going to strive for them even if that song isn’t on future physical releases of the record.”
Radiohead, fronted by Thom Yorke, believe there are too many similarities between ‘Creep’ and ‘Get Free’, but were said to be keen to avoid a court battle.
A source said previously: “Both teams are trying to thrash it out behind the scenes to prevent it from going to court.
“It’s understood that Radiohead’s team are hoping for the band to either receive compensation or be credited on the list of songwriters to receive royalties.”
The track is currently credited to Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels.

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen and Tina Turner have been honoured with a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ hitmakers – including the late Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon – have been recognised alongside the ‘Simply The Best’ singer as well as the likes of Neil Diamond and Emmylou Harris.
Neil Portnow, President and CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement: “This year’s Special Merit Awards recipients are a prestigious group of diverse and influential creators who have crafted or contributed to some of the most distinctive recordings in music history.
“These exceptionally inspiring figures are being honoured as legendary performers, creative architects, and technical visionaries. Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy.”
The Special Merit Awards – which were also handed to Hal Blaine, drummer and founder of the Wrecking Crew; Louis Jordan, also known as the King of the Jukebox and The Meters – are given to artists who “have made outstanding contributions of artistic significance to the field of recording”.
There will be a tribute to honourees in the shape of a special award presentation ceremony and concert, which will be held in the summer of 2018.
Writing about the accolade on their website, they shared: “The Lifetime Achievement Award honours lifelong artistic contributions to the recording medium while the Trustees Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the industry in a non-performing capacity. Both awards are determined by vote of The Recording Academy’s National Board of Trustees. Technical GRAMMY Award recipients are determined by vote of The Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing Advisory Council and Chapter Committees as well as The Academy’s Trustees. The award is presented to individuals and companies who have made contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem has hit back at critics in a new remix for his song ‘Chloraseptic’.
The 45-year-old rapper fired back at those who slammed ‘Walk on Water’, his collaboration with Beyonce which appeared on his latest album ‘Revival’, insisting people reacting negatively towards the track “had a fit” before they’d even heard it.
On the remixed tune, which features 2 Chainz and a new verse, he raps: “Not as raw as I was; ‘Walk on Water’ sucks; B***h, suck my d**k/ Y’all saw the track list and had a fit ‘fore you heard it.
“So you formed your verdict while you sat with your arms crossed/ Did your little reaction videos and talked over songs/ Nah, dog, y’all saying I lost it, your f**king marbles are gone.”
2 Chainz’s involvement on the remixed tune comes after he hinted he was disappointed to be left off the original track listing in ‘Revival’.
The 40-year-old star – whose real name is Tauheed Epps – worked with Eminem on the original ‘Chloraseptic’ album track only to discover he hadn’t made the record’s cut when it was released.
2 Chainz shared the ‘Revival’ track listing on his Instagram account and captioned it with the side-eyes, angry face and fist emojis.
However, he later deleted the post, and went on to respond to another account commenting on the unheard verse, suggesting there are no hard feelings over the incident.
He wrote: “Grateful for the opportunity, new music on the way!”
Last year, 2 Chainz revealed he was asked to “redo” one of Eminem’s hooks for the song, and to provide some ad-libs.
At the time, he said: “They want you to redo a hook that Em said and maybe some ad-libs. So I said I don’t redo hooks because I do my own hooks and I want my pub.
“And I said secondly, if you want my ad-libs I can send them, I do the same ones every time … I’m telling him, like, man, you know that’s cool, but I gotta do something.”
