OHMYGOSSIP — Manic Street Preachers are eager to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their ‘This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours’ album.
The chart-topping record, which was released in 1998, features hits such as ‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’ and ‘You Stole The Sun From My Heart’, and lyricist Nicky Wire has hinted at how the band plans to honour the landmark.
He shared: “It’s 20 years of ‘This Is My Truth’, so we might do something around that.
“Only because we have so much stuff that’s never been heard. In my archive, that’s the one that takes up the most space. I don’t know about gigs, but there’s just so much stuff that no one has ever heard. It’s our biggest selling album.”
Nicky – who stars in the band alongside James Bradfield and Sean Moore – also revealed some details of their upcoming UK arena tour, promising it will feature “a few nice surprises”.
He told NME magazine: “We’ll play some more oddities. We did the Q Awards and chucked in ‘A Song For Departure’ and that went down really well, so there will be a few ‘Lifeblood’-ers in there, that’s for sure. James is desperate to get ‘Prologue To History’ in the set. I did tell him there are about 5,000 words in that song so his lung capacity needs to be up.
“There are going to be quite a few nice surprises. ‘Slash N’ Burn’ is going to go back in. Maybe a few more from ‘This Is My Truth’ too, as it is 20 years. Maybe we’ll throw in a few slightly different ones from that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has announced an arena tour in support of his new album ‘Man of the Woods’.
The 36-year-old singer-and-actor will kick off the extensive run at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on March 13, before wrapping it up in his hometown of Memphis on May 30.
The ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ star unveiled the dates, which will be his first full tour in four years following the ’20/20 Experience World Tour’, in a video on Monday (08.01.18).
In the promo clip, Justin explains that he was inspired by the outside on the record and that that will be reflected with his production.
He says: “The outdoors is the inspiration for a lot of these songs. That’s the main idea. The tour will be able to bring the outside in.
“How can we bring that to life? I want people to see the inspiration for how it ended up sounding. I’ve never seen that done before — bring the outside in.”
The ‘SexyBack’ singer recently revealed his record focuses on his wife Jessica Biel and their two-year-old son Silas, as well as his roots in Memphis.
He said in a video preview previously posted on Instagram: “This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I’ve ever written, where I’m from, and it’s personal.”
As the ‘Cry Me A River’ star spoke about his record inspiration, a montage of him in snow, grass and water could be seen on screen.
The clip also featured Justin’s pal Pharrell Williams in the recording studio with him as he appeared to compliment the singer on one of his songs.
He said: “That … is a smash.”
‘Man of the Woods’ is Justin’s first record since his 2013 two-part album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ and ‘The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2’, the first part of which dropped in March that year followed by the second part in September.
Justin’s new album will drop a few days before he headlines the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 4, on February 2.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on January 16.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Distillers are to make their musical comeback at the Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Australian-American punk band – who first formed in 1998 – has confirmed they are getting back together for the first time since 2006 at the festival, where they will feature alongside the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age and Jack White.
The band – which was originally founded by vocalist and guitarist Brody Dalle – are expected to announce more shows in the US, UK and Europe over the coming weeks, having recently teased fans about their long-awaited comeback.
Despite this, it is yet to be revealed whether the band will go on a tour or release a new album.
Over recent months, Dalle has frequently teased fans about possible return for the band, whose previous hits included ‘Seneca Falls’.
The singer – whose debut solo album, ‘Diploid Love’, was released in 2014 – shared photos of herself at work in a recording studio in 2017.
The musical star captioned one behind-the-scenes Instagram photo: “I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly #studio F**k yeah #nashguitars (sic)”
The Distillers split in 2006 after drummer Andy Granelli and bassist Ryan Sinn departed the group, with remaining members Brody and Tony Bevilacqua going on to form rock band Spinnerette together.
Brody – who has three kids, Camille, 11, Orrin, six, and 22-month-old Wolf, with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, who she married in 2007 – previously released three albums with the band, ‘The Distillers’, ‘Sing Sing Death House’ and 2003’s ‘Coral Fang’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr has teamed up with alternative rock group Turbowolf for new song ‘Domino’.
The ‘Lights Out’ duo’s vocalist and bassist has revealed he’s been a massive fan of the British four-piece – comprised of Chris Georgiadis, Andy Ghosh, Blake Davies and Lianna Lee Davies – since they first hit the scene in 2008, and says it was a dream come true to trade vocal duties with frontman Chris on the psychedelic punk track, which is out now.
Speaking of the collaboration, which features on their new record ‘The Free Life’ , Mike said: “I’ve been a fan of ‘The Wolf’ right from the beginning. Over the years we have become great friends but to get to sing on one their songs is a dream for me.
“‘Domino’ is everything I want from Turbowolf as a fan, some of the best riffs money can’t buy and so catchy that you feel like both of your ears are reminiscing with a dear old friend. Rock and roll’s very own paramedics have done it again.”
‘Rabbit’s Foot’ hitmakers Turbowolf will join the ‘Figure It Out’ rockers on their forthcoming US tour, which kicks off at The Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles on February 17.
However, getting to tour and make the song with Mike wasn’t out of the ordinary for the band as all the people they work with are just their mates.
Guitarist Andy said: “These people are our friends, which means it’s fun …and texturally, it’s interesting. It adds extra dimension.”
‘The Free Life’ – the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Two Hands’ – will be released via So Recordings on March 9.

OHMYGOSSIP — Naughty Boy’s second album was delayed due to naming issues.
The 33-year-old producer has revealed the long-awaited follow-up to his 2013 LP ‘Hotel Cabana’, which featured the likes of Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande, was put back due to a legal challenges over the proposed title, which was too similar to the Now! CDs.
Naughty – whose real name is Shahid Khan – shared: “I wanted to call it ‘Now That’s What I Call Naughty’, but due to legalities because it’s the name of the Now! compilations you can’t do it.
“But how sick an album title would that be?”
When it sees light of day, the record will feature Naughty’s 2015 Beyonce single ‘Runnin’, and he also has collaborations with Dua Lipa, Mike Posner, MNEK, Ray BLK and Julia Michaels in the pipeline.
Shahid told the Daily Star newspaper: I did a really thought-out album with ‘Hotel Cabana’ and I hope there’s loads of little things on that which people will notice over time.
“With my new album I wanted to make a real sick playlist that anyone and everyone can listen to, starting with ‘Runnin’, which was the first single.
“I’ve been working with Ray BLK, which I’m really excited about, Dua Lipa, Julia Michaels, Mike Posner and MNEK as well, so a really interesting bunch.
“It’s definitely Naughty.”
Until he finds a suitable title, Naughty has been working on a Motown covers record, ‘Naughty Town’, which he hopes to get Justin Timberlake and Robbie Williams involved with.
It already includes a reworked version of The Jackson 5’s hit ‘Dancing Machine’ by Laura Mvula.
He said previously: “It’s about introducing Motown to a new generation. Justin Timberlake is a big Motown fan so we are in talks to do something with him.
“I want to do one with Robbie Williams, I’ve had a chat with him about it – he’s a fun guy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Del Rey insists her song ‘Get Free’ was not inspired by Radiohead hit ‘Creep’, and is ready to fight a legal battle.
The ‘Video Games’ singer confirmed reports that Radiohead are suing her for copyright infringement over the track on her latest album ‘Lust For Life’ which they claim is too similar to their 1993 tune.
Lana, 32, tweeted: “It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court. (sic)”
Radiohead, fronted by Thom Yorke, believe there are too many similarities between ‘Creep’ and ‘Get Free’, but were said to be keen to avoid a court battle.
A source said: “Both teams are trying to thrash it out behind the scenes to prevent it from going to court.
“It’s understood that Radiohead’s team are hoping for the band to either receive compensation or be credited on the list of songwriters to receive royalties.”
The track is currently credited to Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels.
In 2015, after a lengthy legal battle, Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke were ordered to pay £5.46 million to the family of the late Marvin Gaye after a jury ruled their international hit ‘Blurred Lines’ was a copy of the soul singer’s 1977 song ‘Got To Give It Up’.
Lana has just begun her world ‘LA To The Moon Tour’ in the US.

OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ demo has been released to mark his 71st birthday (08.01.18).
An early version of the track from the late music legend’s 1983 record of the same name was mixed after Chic star Nile Rodgers took a trip to the ‘Starman’ hitmaker’s old house in Blonay, Switzerland, to work on music with his friend.
Erdal Kizilcay and engineer David Richards then joined the pair at Montreux’s Mountain Studios to get it finished.
The recording, which has been dropped 35 years since it was finished by Rodgers, also features Bowie sounding thrilled that he’d perfected the take.
He can be heard saying: “That’s it, that’s it! Got it, got it!”
Nile says they knew right away it would be a huge “hit”, and that it would be the start of a “wonderful creative partnership”.
He explained: “I’ve been blessed with a wonderful career but my creative partnership with David Bowie ranks very very very high on the list of my most important and rewarding collaborations. “This demo gives you, the fans, a bird’s eye view of the very start of it! I woke up on my first morning in Montreux with David peering over me.
“He had an acoustic guitar in his hands and exclaimed, ‘Nile, darling, I think this is a HIT!’
“This recording was the first indication of what we could do together as I took his ‘folk song’ and arranged it into something that the entire world would soon be dancing to and seemingly has not stopped dancing to for the last 35 years! It became the blue print not only for ‘Let’s Dance’ the song but for the entire album as well.”
Nile completed the mix ready for release today over the festive period and said it was an emotional time.
The ‘Get Lucky’ star also reached out for the original guitar and drum players to come forward as it’s not known who they are.
He concluded: “If you played second guitar or drums let us know who you are! The time we spent mixing it just before Christmas was full of tears as it felt like David was in the room with us. Happy Birthday David, I love you and we all miss you!.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Waters and Brian Eno are among the stars to have offered their support to Lorde after she cancelled her Israel show.
The Pink Floyd star and the 69-year-old musician were joined by the likes of Peter Gabriel and Tom Morello in signing an open letter backing the ‘Royals’ hitmaker after rabbi Shmuley Boteach branded her a “bigot” in a full-page ad in the Washington Post.
In an open letter, published in the Guardian newspaper, Lorde’s star supporters wrote: “We write in support of Lorde, who made public her decision not to perform in Israel and has now been branded a bigot in a full page advertisement in the Washington Post (Report, 1 January).
“Shmuley Boteach, the author and promoter of the advert, supports Israel’s illegal settlements and wrote last month on Breitbart to thank Donald Trump for “electrifying the world” with his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in defiance of international law.
“He has nothing to teach artists about human rights. We deplore the bullying tactics being used to defend injustice against Palestinians and to suppress an artist’s freedom of conscience. We support Lorde’s right to take a stand. (sic)”
Other stars who signed the letter include musicians Kathleen Hanna and David Gray, as well as actors Mark Ruffalo, Viggo Mortensen, and director Ken Loach.
Lorde was due to perform in Tel Aviv as part of her ‘Melodrama World Tour’ on June 5, 2018.
But she axed the gig after receiving “an overwhelming number of messages” asking her to cancel the show due to the ongoing cultural boycott of the country, a protest against the Israeli government’s policies, occupation of Palestine, and treatment of the Palestinian people.
The 21-year-old singer’s announcement read: “hey guys, so about this israel show – i’ve received an overwhelming number of messages & letters and have had a lot of discussions with people holding many views, and i think the right decision at this time is to cancel the show. i pride myself on being an informed young citizen, and i had done a lot of reading and sought a lot of opinions before deciding to book a show in tel aviv, but I’m not too proud to admit i didn’t make the right call on this one. tel aviv, it’s been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful part of the world for many years, and i’m truly sorry to reverse my commitment to come play for you. i hope one day we can all dance. L x (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake is the robot in his ‘Filthy’ video.
The 36-year-old singer donned a black turtleneck and glasses to play an inventor unveiling his droid dancer creation to an audience in the promotional film for his comeback single, and in a behind-the-scenes clip, he’s now revealed he’s also responsible for the automaton’s fancy footwork.
In the clip, Justin could be seen wearing a unitard and skull cap and was hooked up to motion-capture equipment while the song played in the background.
He jokingly grabbed his crotch before someone pushed him off balance, and the then took a box and carried it across the stage.
He captioned the clip: “Making of a [robot].”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has criticised Ed Sheeran for using songwriters.
The former Oasis guitarist and chief songwriter has blasted artists like the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker and his brother and former bandmate Liam Gallagher for teaming up with a number of songwriters to pen their hits, and says it only “fuels his arrogance”.
He fumed: “I don’t do collaborations with producers. David Holmes was great but he can’t play an instrument so he’s a producer. No one gets a writing credit, I write my songs, I’m not interested in writing with anybody else, unless we’re going to start a new band.
“I’m offended by singer/songwriters who when you scratch the surface don’t do any f***ing songwriting. As far as I’m aware if you scratch the surface of any solo artist in Britain and they’ve all got a team of songwriters behind them apart from me, Paul Weller and Johnny Marr, I’m struggling to think of anybody else. Richard Ashcroft, Our Kid (Liam) all the way to f***ing Ed Sheeran and the little fella from One Direction they’ve all got an army of songwriters behind them.
“That’s alright, everyone has got to make a living and all that and it’s good really because it fuels my arrogance which is good for me. I think as a solo artist it’s important that it’s coming from you, otherwise what is it? It’s someone else’s melodies and someone else’s words but if that’s what you’re doing then fine make a living but don’t have a big mouth about it. It’s like my tune Dead In The Water, people have built careers out of that s**t, I’ve just given it away, you can have it, in that good.”
The ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker – who recently released his third studio LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ – has compared songwriting to the buzz you get when you catch a fish yourself.
He told the Sodajerker podcast” “I think the greatest thing for me, as a songwriter, is not coming up with the chords or the melody it’s being switched on and being aware that there’s something happening.
“Keith Richards talks about the songs all being in the air, I liken it to go fishing and if you not at the river you’re not catching anything.
“I can go there every day of my life, if I have an hour to spare I’ll sit and play the guitar watching the TV with the sound down, sometimes nothing will happen but next week it might.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Radiohead are considering taking legal action against Lana Del Rey.
The British rockers’ lawyers are in negotiations with the 32-year-old star’s team in the hope of resolving an issue centred around the similarities between their classic 1993 single ‘Creep’ and her track ‘Get Free’, which appears on her latest album ‘Lust for Life’, but will take the battle to court with a copyright infringement lawsuit if the dispute can’t be resolved.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Both teams are trying to thrash it out behind the scenes to prevent it from going to court.
“It’s understood that Radiohead’s team are hoping for the band to either receive compensation or be credited on the list of songwriters to receive royalties.”
The track is currently credited to Lana, Kieron Menzies and Rick Nowels.
Meanwhile, Lana previously admitted she “freaked out” when she got into the studio with Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks to record ‘Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems’ for ‘Lust for Life’.
She previously said: “I was definitely nervous.
“She got off the plane at 10.30, so she didn’t get to the studio until midnight – and she just breezed in, black on black, gold everywhere. She was kind of a vision.
“When she started singing, she told me she wanted to hear me sing something, too. And then I really freaked out!
“I said to her over the mic, ‘I just sound so quiet compared to you.’ And she was like, ‘That’s OK, you can be my little echo!’
“I thought that was so cool. I’m not as loud as her. My voice isn’t as low as hers. But she loves it for what it is.
“That, as it was happening, was a career-defining moment for me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne is “buzzing” about his new single with Rita Ora.
The One Direction singer has collaborated with Rita on the song ‘For You’ for the ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ soundtrack and he couldn’t be more excited.
Writing in his newsletter to fans, Liam said: “Buzzing to start the new year having a new single out with Rita Ora called For You! We had a lot of fun making this in the studio so I hope you like it! It’s the lead track from the new Fifty Shades Freed movie. It’s out now so go give it a listen.”
Liam, 24, follows in the footsteps of his former bandmate Zayn Malik – who quit One Direction in 2015 – after he released ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ with Taylor Swift for the last movie, ‘Fifty Shades Darker’.
The pair first teased their collaboration in December, when Rita – who plays the sister of lead star Christian Grey [Jamie Dornan], Mia Grey, in the saga and Liam, both shared a picture of them looking glam on their social media channels with the movie’s name as the hashtag.
They both captioned the post: “#FiftyShadesFreed (sic)”
And they later took to Twitter to confirm they had collaborated on a track for the third movie in the erotic thriller franchise.
Alongside a short clip of the classical-sounding instrumental, Liam wrote on Twitter: Something special #ForYou coming in January…#FiftyShadesFreed @RitaOra (sic)”
And the ‘Anywhere’ singer wrote the exact same message tagging the One Direction star on her profile.

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott’s next album could feature Kanye West and Stevie Wonder.
The 25-year-old rapper-producer is currently working on his latest record ‘Astroworld’ and he revealed that he has played some of his material for Kanye and is talking to Stevie about collaborating.
Speaking about Kanye, he told Billboard: “I don’t even know what’s going to be on it yet. I played him some joints. We’re always talking. We’re always working on s**t. I see him every day.”
And after meeting two of Stevie’s teenage children backstage at a gig, he said: “My next album is going to have Stevie. Well, I’m trying. We’re talking.”
Travis also insisted he is on a mission to make rap less “disposable”.
He said: “I don’t want rap to feel so disposable. I want it to start lasting again.
“That’s my mission, man. I worked so hard on [first album] ‘Rodeo’ and [the follow up] ‘Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight’. It might not have been recognised by the masses, but my fans always went hard. This year I’m on a mission to be heard.”
And Travis revealed he doesn’t care about singles but is more concerned with making great albums.
He said: “I don’t try to make [music] for anybody else. I don’t really do singles.”
Sylvia Rhone, president of his label, Epic Records added: “Unlike a lot of artists who think it’s just about putting out commercial records, Travis was always true to himself. He was always less concerned about radio hits. He embraced his core fans.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones will still sing ‘Sex Bomb’ when he’s 80.
The 77-year-old singer – who recently underwent a hip replacement operation – insists his advancing years doesn’t mean he should tone down his performances of the saucy song and he plans to keep it in his concerts for years to come.
He said: “I’ll still be singing ‘Sex Bomb’ at 80 – I’ve got a new hip. I’ll be looking for more new parts, you never know.”
Tom will be returning to TV screens at the weekend with the new series of ‘The Voice’ and he admitted it was the thought of seeing all the talent on the show that kept him going when he was in hospital after his hip operation.
He said:” When you are stuck in hospital after an operation, ‘The Voice’ was the perfect thing to look forward to.”
And the ‘What’s New Pussycat’ singer has already proven to be a big hit with show newcomer Olly Murs’ beloved mother.
Tom told Closer magazine: “Olly’s mother came backstage and gave me a big kiss! Olly was like, ‘You kissed her on the lips’. But no, she kissed me on the lips.”
Meanwhile, Tom recently hinted he’d been a victim of sexual harassment in his career.
He said: “Things have always happened in the music industry as well. There’s been people complaining about publicists and different things they’ve been expected to do to get a record contract, just like a film contract.
“There were a few things like that. But you avoid it. You just walk out … But what’s tried on women is tried on men as well.
When asked whether he had personally experienced sexual abuse in the music industry, he said: “It wasn’t bad, just somebody tried to pull … it was a question and I said, ‘No thank you.’ You think, ‘Well, I’ve got to get away from this person and it can’t be like this.’
“You should know that yourself, you don’t do things just because you think, ‘I should do this.’ Your own mind will tell you that. Not just in showbusiness, but in any thing you’re in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Foals bassist Walter Gervers has quit the band after 12 years.
The 34-year-old musician has decided to bow out of the the indie group in order to “pursue a new life”, but he’ll be sadly missed by his bandmates – frontman Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, Jimmy Smith and Edwin Congreav – who have wished him well for the future.
The four of them will continue and have reassured fans that their fifth album is well underway, and is their “best yet”.
In a lengthy post on their social media accounts, the ‘Cassius’ hitmakers announced: “To all our fans.
“Sadly we have to announce that our mate Water has decided to leave the band to pursue a new life. The parting has been sad but we remain firm friends. He’ll always be our brother, we love him and wish him well in his future endeavours.
“We had 12 amazing years touring together from a small postal van to the Pyramid Stage and beyond. It’s the end of a chapter, but not the end of the book.
“We want to thank him for all his time and energy and passion and we want to thank you for all your support from the early days and into the future.
“We are making new music and working on the fifth LP. It’s gonna be the best yet. Keep those ears alive. (sic)”
It comes after Yannis admitted that they needed “violent change” on their next record, to avoid “extinction”.
Asked about their progress on writing their follow up to 2015’s LP ‘What Went Down’, he explained previously: “What we need to do is go through some sort of violent change and make sure, whatever the next record is, it’s not friends with the last two… We’ve built a wide palette that we can draw from. It would be a shame not to keep pushing that. It’s evolution vs. extinction.”
The 31-year-old singer also joked that their early drafts of their future tracks didn’t “sound good yet”, but they are excited to be back in the studio.
He laughed: “We’ve just started writing the new record. We’ve taken a year out – we needed it. We’d been on tour for a long time. It was fun, but sometimes the more fun a tour is, the more of a toll it takes on you.
“Me and Jimmy [guitarist] have come up with some sketches and some early ideas. We’re actually writing on the road at the moment. It doesn’t sound good, yet … ”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Wombats’ frontman Matthew Murphy was less “anxious” making the band’s comeback album.
The ‘Moving To New York’ hitmakers are set to release their first album in three years on February 9, ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’, and the 33-year-old frontman has opened up about how living in Los Angeles has made him worry less about what other people think.
Asked how things have changed since they first started making records in 2008, Murphy explained: “Perhaps I’m less anxious and a bit more relaxed over here.
“I don’t beat myself up quite as much as I used to and in that respect, it becomes a quicker process because I don’t get so anxious about it.”
However, he insists he hasn’t adapted to the Californian way of life, and that it is simply the fact he’s getting older that has made him not care so much.
He told the Daily Express newspaper: “I wouldn’t necessarily put it down to living in California and buying crystals, I’d put it down to just getting older I think.
“LA is such a great city because you have the city, you have the countryside, you have the sea and they’re all in close proximity to each other and that makes it unique.”
However, that doesn’t mean that La La Land hasn’t inspired some of the tracks on their follow-up to 2015’s ‘Glitterbug’.
‘Lemon to a Knife Fight’ came to light after the Liverpudlian had a row with his wife on the US city’s famous Mulholland Drive.
He laughed: “‘Lemon to a Knife Fight’ was kind of inspired by having a massive argument on Mulholland Drive with my wife!
“I think my wife quite enjoys it. She likes to pretend that she argues with me to give me inspiration.”
Explaining further Los Angeles’ impact on the more “positive” songs, he concluded: “A lot of people have said it now so it’s obviously coming through without me knowing. So maybe it does have some elements of sunshine and California in it, I don’t know.
“Things are edging towards a more positive… it does feel more positive on this album. I can only write about what I know how to write about, and that is my personal life I guess.”
