OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora’s new track ‘Proud’ makes her feel “confident”.
The 27-year-old singer penned the track based on fan-submitted stories of acceptance which were written as part of her collaboration with Absolut’s Open Mic Project, and has said she hopes the track gives her fans the credit they deserve.
She said: “I love the little bit of confidence and cockiness you get [with ‘Proud’ lines like], ‘Go ahead, beautiful, you’re looking so good/ So good, finger to the haters like you love them so good. I can’t wait for people to put up their middle fingers while they listen to this song like, ‘Yeah!'”
Rita admits the title of her track might be an “obvious” word to use, but says the simplicity of it is “amazing”.
She added: “I felt like it was an obvious but amazing word. I definitely got inspired by every single person’s story, and I tried to blend it together – the journey and the struggle of [getting] the win at the end.”
The ‘Your Song’ hitmaker created the song for the fans who submitted their stories, but she admits the track has just as much relevance to her own life as well.
She said: “It’s important to me because of my background and how much I [had] to fight to get to even this point in my life. Also, just as a little girl growing up in Kosovo and refugeeing from Kosovo to the UK and starting a new life with incredible schools, having the chance to have my dreams come true thanks to my parents. It ends up being about everything – the industry, being a woman right now, having the ability to speak out and be heard.”
Rita also thanked fellow female musicians Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus for helping to boost the star’s confidence.
Speaking to Billboard, she said: “Katy Perry and Miley [Cyrus], they’ve been so amazing and I think it just really helped me build my confidence and help me believe in what I was doing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue found writing her new album in Nashville like “therapy”.
The 49-year-old singer wrote her long-awaited new album, ‘Golden’, in the home city of country music, and has admitted it was the perfect environment in which to pen new material.
She shared: “I hadn’t been there. I said to a few people, ‘I’m going to Nashville. Have you been there?’ They spoke with such excitement and love for the city, literally.
“They were giving me advice on which bar to go to and where to eat and blah blah blah …”
The ‘Dancing’ hitmaker ended her relationship with British actor Joshua Sasse at the turn of 2017, and the Australian star admitted the songwriting process proved to be cathartic for her.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2, she explained: “Songwriting can be a bit like therapy; you have to feel comfortable to talk about personal things.”
The Australian beauty penned her new record in the midst of her relationship heartache.
But said she was determined to be as honest as possible with her lyrics.
The former ‘Neighbours’ star – who launched her debut studio album in 1988 – said: “I was a little bit fragile when I started work on this album. I processed that.
“I just thought it was a really good time to be honest and work through everything and give a snapshot of where I am in my life. It was very rewarding.”
Previously, Kylie admitted that her new album served as “a great escape” from her despair.
She said: “Making this album was a kind of saviour.
“The end of 2016 was not a good time for me. So when I started working on the album in 2017 it was, in many ways, a great escape.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga will be airing her Netflix documentary ‘Five Foot Two’ instead of having support acts on her ‘Joanne UK Tour.
The ‘Million Reasons’ hitmaker revealed her unusual opening surprise on Twitter letting the Barcelona fans know about the screening, which would have lasted almost two hours.
Gaga – who was reported to be engaged to talent agent Christian Carino – wrote on the micro-blogging site: “I’ve decided to play the documentary made about me every night before the show. If you get there early it will be on. Tonight starts at 7pm Barcelona time! #JoanneWorldTour #JoanneWorldTourBarcelona (sic)”
The movie – directed by Chris Moukarbel – was released in September, and explores the “lonely” and “isolating” parts of fame.
In a post to her follows, Gaga said previously: “With ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two’, I found myself witnessing myself in a way I am unable to see on my own. I felt proud, I felt sadness, I felt empowered, I felt vulnerable … but what struck me the most was the film’s authenticity in the way Chris [Moukarbel], the director, chose to show my lowest lows, my highest highs, and the close relationship with my family that I clung to fiercely while writing my album ‘Joanne’.
“Although surreal, happy and also hard, I’m most touched that the veil behind the aura of my fame reveals that fame is not all it’s cracked up to be. It is lonely, it is isolating, and it is very psychologically challenging because fame changes the way you’re viewed by people. For me, it feels very unnatural, but complicated because I know it is my destiny to be a performer.”
The UK leg of the ‘Born This Way’ star’s global run kicks off at Birmingham Arena on January 31.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has teased one of the support acts performing at his Finsbury Park festival is a “biblical brother”.
The 45-year-old rocker is yet to unveil the bill for the one-day event taking place at the London landmark in June, but they must be pretty impressive to have landed his signature description, which he uses for people he thinks are god-like.
Replying to a fan on Twitter who tried to tease the acts out of the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker, Liam replied: “Mate I can’t tell ya but I have a biblical brother joining me now run of and spread the butter you nutter (sic)”
While he referred to artist as “brother”, it’s unlikely his older sibling and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher, 50, will be joining Liam at the extravaganza.
Just before Christmas, fans went crazy with a glimmer of hope that they could end their long-standing feud – which they’ve been engaged in since Noel quit Oasis after a backstage bust-up at a concert in Paris in 2009, which ended with Liam hitting Noel over the head with his guitar – and reunite the ‘Some Might Say’ group, after calling a “truce”.
However, hopes were dashed when Liam declared at the start of 2018 that the “truce” was off.
Replying to a fan who wrote: “What about the truce (sic)”, he replied: “F**k the truce (sic)”
The last time Liam performed at Finsbury Park was with Oasis back in 2002, and he’s hoping it will be just as “dangerous”.
He said previously: “I loved that gig, man. It was really f**king dangerous and I liked it. So hopefully we’ll have a bit of the same.”
The ‘Greedy Soul’ singer had said that he’d like Skepta to perform.
Letting slip who he’s looking to book for the gig, he said: “It can’t all be 90s stuff, man.
“We’ve got to mix it up a bit. I’d like to get Skepta playing, have something a bit different.”
The Britpop group’s frontman took his ‘bromance’ with the grime star to the next level by buying him a birthday present in September.
And he also invited the ‘Shutdown’ rapper to join him on stage to perform “that natural mystic tune”, referring to late reggae legend Bob Marley’s 1977 hit ‘Natural Mystic’.

OHMYGOSSIP — DJ Khaled’s collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B is “top secret”.
The ‘Wild Thoughts’ rapper teased that he’s unable to give any more information about the track he’s worked on with the Latin beauty and the ‘Bodak Yellow’ star, but he is “grateful” to get to work with both ladies.
And the 42-year-old producer – whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled – has also revealed ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker Jennifer has more music in the pipeline.
He said: “Everything’s top secret, [but] I can tell you this: J.Lo’s got some new music coming.
“I want to thank J.Lo for letting me be one of the producers amongst other great ones, and a feature on the record. I’m grateful.”
The ‘I’m the One’ songwriter heaped praise on rising rapper Cardi, and how hard she has worked to get to where she is.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Cardi B man, she’s doing her thing. God bless her.
“To get in the game, these are the rewards and the accomplishments that we all work hard for, [like] her Hot 100s.
“I remember getting my first Hot 100 No. 1. I know the feeling. I know how exciting that is. It’s a drive to make you keep going more and more and more and more.
“Nothing but love for Cardi B and all the new artists out there doing their thing.”
Khaled is set to hit the road with Demi Lovato again, kicking off on February 26 at the Viejas Arena in San Diego.
Teasing their new show around Demi’s latest LP ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, he said: “She’s great. I love her story, meaning, it’s inspiring. It’s a blessing that she called me and gave me the opportunity to hit the stage with her.

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers members feature on Spinal Tap’s fictional character Derek Smalls’ debut solo album.
The ‘Run’ hitmaker’s drummer Taylor Hawkins and ‘Under the Bridge’ rocker’s bassist Chad Smith join a star-studded features list for the record from voice actor and musician Harry Shearer, who voiced Derek in the spoof 1984 rockumentary ‘This is Spinal Tap’.
Chad is on ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Transplant’ and Taylor on ‘Butt Call’.
The record called ‘Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)’ also stars the likes of David Crosby, Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, Yes’ Rick Wakeman and Joe Satriana.
The album will be released on April 13 via Twanky Records/BMG.
Describing the 14-track LP, Smalls [Harry] said it’s “halfway between ‘rage against the dying light’ and trying to find the light”.
And Smalls is expected to head out on the ‘Lukewarm Water Live: An Adventure in Loud Music’ tour on April 14 at New Orleans’ Saenger Theater with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
As bassist for the mock British heavy metal group Spinal Tap, Smalls [Shearer] performed alongside guitarists Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean).
They released three studio albums; ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ (1984), ‘Break Like the Wind’ (1992) and ‘Back from the Dead’ (2009).

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna has been busy recording new music in a London studio.
The Queen of Pop – whose last LP was 2015’s ‘Rebel Heart’ – was spotted leaving the recording space in the British Capital on Wednesday (17.01.18), and she also posted a photograph of herself singing into a microphone, sharing how thrilled she was to be back at work.
She wrote across the photo posted on her Instagram: “Feels so good … To be working on new music again! (sic)”
In December, the 59-year-old megastar teased that she is to embark on a tour this year.
Whilst, the ‘Material Girl’ hitmaker has been spending the past 13 months living in Lisbon, Portugal after her son David, 12, joined football team Benfica FC’s youth academy, she said she’s eager to get working on the production for a new run of dates for next year.
The ‘Hung Up’ singer was on ‘Live With Kelly & Ryan’ where she took part in a game of Sketching With The Stars, alongside her friend Anderson Cooper who asked her about her touring future.
On when she plans on hitting the road again, Madonna told Anderson: “Soon. I gotta get my show together. 2017 was soccer mom in Portugal. 2018 … I’m coming back, baby. I’m coming for you!”
Madonna’s last extensive run was her 2016 ‘Rebel Heart World Tour’, which concluded in Sydney, Australia on March 20.
Meanwhile, the ‘Vogue’ hitmaker – who also has Lourdes, 21, Rocco, 17, Mercy, 11, and five-year-old twins Stella and Esther – previously said her youngest children are starting to learn about her worldwide fame now that they go to school in the city, as people are “always” asking if their mother is Madonna.
She said: “They go to school in Lisbon right now, and they’re wondering why everyone’s always coming up to them and saying, ‘Is your mother, Madonna?’ Like, why do they want to know who you are?
“I mean, a lot of my kids have grown up seeing me in concert, but there are certain songs, like, the twins don’t know anything. They heard ‘Holiday’ for the first time a month ago, so that was a fun moment for them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — 50 Cent doesn’t think Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’ resonates with young people.
The 42-year-old rap star has insisted that while he doesn’t wish to slam the New York star, he doesn’t believe that his much-discussed album is relatable to the next generation.
Speaking to US TV host Conan O’Brien, 50 explained: “Hip-hop culture’s connected to youth culture.
“He just had the maturity bleed off into the material … It’s cool for me, like, in my car, I’m listening to it. But the kids, I don’t see them actually listening to it.”
The ‘Candy Shop’ hitmaker – whose real name is Curtis Jackson – felt the need to clarify his thoughts on the record, having previously said that the album was “too smart” shortly after its release in 2017.
While the ‘Southpaw’ actor enjoyed listening to the songs himself, he also felt it was a little too cerebral for a lot of music fans, while he also suggested that it didn’t chime with traditional hip-hop culture.
He previously explained: “I thought the s**t was a’ight. I liked the s**t, but I’m gonna keep it 100, the s**t was too smart.
“I felt like I was supposed to be wearing glasses and tie a f**king sweater around my waist. It was, like, Ivy League s**t.”
The rapper also claimed that Jay’s age, 48, now counts against him, suggesting that the genre is a young man’s game.
He shared: “I’mma tell you the truth, n***** is hot out here. They don’t wanna hear that s**t. They just wanna have a good time. F**k that. You can’t be the best rapper at 47, because the new n***** is here.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton has been honoured with two Guinness World Records for making chart history.
The 71-year-old country music legend has received the accolades for being the female with the most hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with a total of 107, and having a Top 20 hit on that same chart for six decades, including her first self-penned single ‘Something Fishy’ from 1967.
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker surpasses the likes of Reba McEntire and the late Elvis Presley reaching the chart milestones.
On receiving two plaques and a place in the 2018 edition of the Guinness World Records book for her record-breaking achievements, Parton said: “To receive these two Guinness World Records is so great.
“Joining so many wonderful singers and songwriters who have been honored this way feels so special to me.
“You never know when you start out with your work how it’s going to turn out, but to have these two world records makes me feel very humbled and blessed!”
One of her chart feats is an updated version of 1974 classic ‘Jolene’, which she is joined by Pentatonix on, and made it to number 18 in 2016.
The ‘9to5’ singer shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon, as late last year she released her first ever children’s album.
The Nashville-born star’s 44th LP ‘I Believe In You’ arrived less than a year after 2016’s ‘Pure & Simple’, and came five decades after the release of her debut album ‘Hello, I’m Dolly’.
Proceeds were donated to Parton’s charity Imagination Library, which promotes early childhood literacy and provides free age appropriate books for youngster from birth to the age of five.
Speaking of the record, she said previously: “My first album was released 50 years ago and it’s been an amazing 50 years since then.
“I am very excited that now I’m coming out with my first children’s album in all of those 50 years.
“I’m proudest of all that all of the proceeds from this CD will go to the Imagination Library.
“It’s been 20 years since the Imagination Library was launched.
“We’ve seen 100 million books get into the hands of children and hopefully there will be many more.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Distillers have announced a string of headline tour dates after announcing their comeback.
The Australian-American punk band – who first formed in 1998 – recently confirmed they are getting back together for the first time since 2006 at Shaky Keens Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, this May, and now they will play six shows in the US in the run up, kicking off in San Diego on April 25.
The ‘City of Angels’ group – which was originally founded by vocalist and guitarist Brody Dalle – are expected to announce more shows in the UK and Europe over the coming weeks, having recently teased fans about their long-awaited return.
Dalle – whose debut solo album, ‘Diploid Love’, was released in 2014 – shared photos of herself at work in a recording studio in 2017.
The musical star captioned one behind-the-scenes Instagram photo: “I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly #studio F**k yeah #nashguitars (sic)”
The Distillers split in 2006 after drummer Andy Granelli and bassist Ryan Sinn departed the group, with remaining members Brody and Tony Bevilacqua going on to form rock band Spinnerette together.
The rocker – who has three kids, Camille, 11, Orrin, six, and 22-month-old Wolf, with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, who she married in 2007 – previously released three albums with the band, ‘The Distillers’, ‘Sing Sing Death House’ and 2003’s ‘Coral Fang’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Marilyn Manson has hinted that Johnny Depp could be set to join his band full-time.
The 49-year-old shock rocker took to his Twitter account recently to tease his 1.38 million followers that the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star may have been in talks to join him and his bandmates – Tyler Bates and Gil Sharone – as guitarist on a permanent basis.
It comes after bassist Twiggy Ramirez was axed from the touring group after being accused of rape.
Manson – whose real name is Brian Warner – tweeted: “Johnny Depp is considering a position on guitar. Sound great? (sic)”
The high-profile duo have been friends for nearly two decades, and Hollywood legend Depp recently starred in two of his pal’s music videos for ‘KILL4ME’ and ‘Say10’.
The 54-year-old actor also frequently joins the ‘Tainted Love’ singer – who is godfather to Depp’s 18-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Depp – on stage to play the stringed instrument.
The ‘Lone Ranger’ star has all the qualifications to make being a musician his main occupation as since 2015, he’s been rhythm and lead guitar, backing vocals, slide guitar and keyboard player in the Hollywood Vampires – alongside Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry.
The ‘Heaven Upside Down’ hitmaker previously said he shares a lot in common with Depp.
He said: “We were both white trash from hillbilly country, to use the vernacular, and sharpened our teeth in Florida.”
And they are more than comfortable in one another’s company.
In the ‘KILL4ME’ promo, Depp simulates a threesome with two models.
The ‘Dark Shadows’ star can be seen getting extremely intimate with the girls played by Jocelyn Binder and Bailee Cowperthwaite in the X-rated video. Depp also burnt Manson’s underwear, which “embarrassed” him in front of the women.
Of the bizarre video, Manson said: “At the end, when you see the underwear burning, those are mine – and that’s Johnny’s lighter – he burnt my f***ing underwear!
“I was embarrassed to be nude in front of these two girls, Johnny too. We’ve been friends for so long but we don’t sit around and look at each other’s undercarriages.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bon Jovi have invited former members Richie Sambora and Alec John Such to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The ‘Always’ hitmakers will receive the prestigious honour in Cleveland in April and frontman Jon Bon Jovi would be happy for the guitarist, who quit in 2013, and the bassist, who was dismissed in 1994, to join him, Tico Torres, Phil X, Hugh McDonald and David Bryan on stage for the “party”.
Jon told ‘Extra’: “Every kid who ever strummed a tennis racket or broomstick in the mirror hopes to be in a band. One in a billion of those gets to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“We’re going to have a big party.”
And discussing Richie and Alec, he added: “They’ll be welcome to join the band onstage and perform.”
The rockers are currently preparing for the spring leg of their ‘This House is Not for Sale’ tour and the 55-year-old singer is looking forward to delving into the band’s extensive back catalogue during the shows.
He said: “I am in really good shape vocally these days, so I think we can get deep into the catalogue.”
The ‘When We Were Us’ singer has admitted the induction “truly does mean a lot” to the band.
Speaking on the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, he said: “We had been looked over a couple times, and it is an honour to consider you being in the same building as the greatest of the greats, whether it’s Elvis or the Beatles or the Stones.
“Just the idea that the music that you made has been known to generations of people makes you feel good.”
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed Howard Stern will induct the group into the Hall of Fame at the upcoming ceremony.

OHMYGOSSIP — Stefflon Don has been named Apple Music’s ‘Up Next’ Artist for January 2018.
The ‘Hurtin’ Me’ hitmaker is “excited” to have been handed the accolade by the streaming giant and has promised 2018 will be a “mad” year.
She said: “I am really excited to be the new ‘Up Next’ Artist. Julie, Zane, Ebro and everyone at Beats 1 have been there with me from the start, and it’s great to be the first British artist to get this support from Apple Music. Can’t wait for you all to hear what I have coming this year! Its gonna be a mad Ting!”
Whilst Beats 1 anchor Julie Adenuga added: “Conversations with Steff are always exciting and hilarious. She doesn’t do a lot of interviews, and I learn more about her every time we talk. She’s extremely talented, and has the ability to make any style of music she likes without losing the magic of who she is.”
To mark the honour, a documentary short film and a sit down interview with the 26-year-old rapper will be broadcasted on Apple Music.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Jauregui feels inspired by Martin Luther King’s “intelligence, grace and love”.
The Fifth Harmony star has taken to her Instagram account to heap praise on the American activist, whose achievements were celebrated with an annual holiday on Monday (15.01.18).
Alongside a picture of the iconic figure, Lauren wrote: “Thank you for your example. Thank you for your beautifully inspirational legacy of achieving change through persistent organization, intelligence, grace and love. I’m sorry you were taken so soon by the hands of those that were bitten by your love and hopeful ideals of a future where we are all seen as equal and free. We still have a lot to do in regards to making that future a reality, BUT let this man’s legacy be a guidance toward what we can all accomplish together when we break some rules and stand up to those who stand in the way of the progression. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Lauren previously admitted she entered into the world of show business “without knowing what [she] was doing”.
The 21-year-old singer stars in the girl group alongside Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, and previously Camila Cabello, after the band was formed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012.
The singer shared: “I gave my life to this without knowing what I was doing. I was very little when I started in 5H, I was 16.
“I think that until we’re 21, human beings don’t get to know themselves very much. But I also believe that everything happens for a reason, and that God knows what he’s doing.
“I had to learn everything, in front of many people. That way I learned a lot about myself and the people that surround me. And when I mean everything, I mean from learning how to talk and communicate to learning everything that means to be an artist.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendrick Lamar’s new publishing deal could be worth as much as $40 million.
The 30-year-old rap star has emerged as one of the biggest-selling artists in the music industry since he signed his original agreement with Warner/Chappell Music, but Top Dawg Entertainment, which manages Kendrick, is now weighing up offers between $20 million and $40 million.
One bidder has offered $28 million, according to Billboard, which also revealed that another offer has been made worth $23 million.
It’s thought that these eye-watering offers would be for Kendrick’s entire catalogue, although it’s not clear what terms the rapper’s team are keen to secure.
Meanwhile, Kendrick previously claimed that hip-hop culture determines “what’s cool and what’s not cool”.
The chart-topping rapper is a long-time fan of hip-hop culture and Kendrick believes it is the most influential genre of music in America.
He said: “Hip-hop has always been the ultimate genre. Yeah. Even when these numbers wasn’t out. Even when the stats wasn’t out we always moved the needle. We always … we were the culture.
“You can debate me on this all day you want. We say what’s cool and what’s not cool. We say what we like.”
Kendrick – who grew up listening to the likes of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre – is amazed that anyone ever doubted the longevity of the genre.
Kendrick recalled: “My mom told me, I couldn’t believe when she told me this. She said 1987, the year I was born, [people were saying] hip-hop was going to last six months to a year … that tripped me out.
“And now you fast forward and you see Jay-Z up there, you know? [Song]writers’ Hall of Fame. This is us. This is who I am. He’s from the projects. You dig what I’m saying?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello thinks her music career and her life are running in a “parallel line”.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter recently released her eponymous debut solo album, and she’s revealed that the link between the two aspects of her life are why she opted to scrap her original album title of ‘The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving’.
Camila explained: “For me, my music and my life are in this parallel line.
“You know, that is why I changed the album title, because I was like, I’m not in that place anymore. We have to live in the same … you know, we have to live at the same time. I feel like whenever I’m done with an album, I feel like this is the end of a chapter.
“The next part is about collecting memories and experiences for the next thing – it’s nice.”
Camila also revealed she agonised about the album’s tracklist, which reflects the emotional rollercoaster she’s experienced over the last 12 months.
The brunette beauty explained that she was determined to end her debut release on a positive note that reflects her current outlook.
Camila – who quit Fifth Harmony in December 2016 – told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe: “The album takes a turn where it becomes really introspective and heavy and confessional. So the tracklist was something I spent forever working on.
“I just tried every single possibility. I played it for my friends in the car in a bunch of different orders, because I didn’t like ending it with a [sighs], you know…”
