OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran sees his audiences as a “blob”.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker plays himself in upcoming movie ‘Yesterday’ – which is set in a world where The Beatles don’t exist – and he offered tips on performing to lead actor Himesh Patel, who plays songwriter Jack Malik, ahead of filming at his own concerts in Wembley and Cardiff.
Discussing the advice Ed gave him, Himesh explained to Total Film: “He says that they all become a blob and he entertains the blob. I wrote that on my script, entertain the blob.”
It seems Ed’s own life was a big inspiration on the script and his influence can be seen throughout the movie.
Screenwriter Richard Curtis said: “There’s a lot of Ed in the film, in the character, because Ed started playing in all the places our hero plays – like the Ipswich Agricultural Fair.”
Ed has been keeping busy after working on the film, and last week he released new collaboration ‘I Don’t Care’ with Justin Bieber.
Ed, 28, wrote on Instagram: “Me and @justinbieber have got a new song out. It’s called “I Don’t Care” hope you like it x (sic)”
Justin, 25, tweeted: “It’s out. I don’t care (sic)”
Meanwhile, Ed recently revealed he was set to work on an advert for Heinz’s Tomato Ketchup after reaching out to the brand.
He wrote on Instagram earlier this month:”It’s happening… #advert #dreamscometrue #believe #achieve”
His confirmation came shortly after he posed a question to the company alongside a picture of himself with the iconic ketchup bottle.
He wrote: “Yo @heinz I have an idea for a tv ad if you wanna do one, if not I won’t be offended, I could never be mad at you. Slide in my DMs or have your people call my people. Lots of love, your biggest fan x (sic)”
Heinz then replied that they were fully on board and “loved” the idea.
They messaged back: “Yo yourself @teddysphotos! We’re all. Actually, we’re all. But you get the idea. And we’d love to hear YOUR idea. Sorry, we’re nervous. Team Heinz is hitting you up RIGHT NOW.(sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Jauregui has hinted she will release an album this summer.
The 22-year-old pop star insisted she doesn’t have a “formula” when it comes to her solo career and all she wants is for at least one person to “connect” with what she has to say.
Advising fans to expect new music by the end of the summer, when asked if it would be a single, she told Gay Times: “It might be more than that. I don’t have a formula. I’m just dropping music and seeing if people f**k with me, you know?
“You just drop music and hope that something you wrote, that came from the heart, means something to somebody else. Even if it’s one person, for me, that’s enough.
“And I’m lucky enough that I’ve had way more than one person listen to ‘Expectations’ and connect with it. That’s what makes my heart happy. When I have a concert and they sing my words back to me, that’s what it’s about for me.”
The ‘More Than That’ singer admitted she felt it was “safest” during her time in Fifth Harmony not to think about the sort of artist she wanted to be and channelled her writing elsewhere.
She said: “I think I was so focused on doing what I was doing that I didn’t really have time to focus on me or what I wanted.
“I feel like that was probably the safest thing to do – I couldn’t express it, so why even feel it, you feel me? So I kept it in.
“I would still write poetry and s**t – I had a journal that got lost in the middle of America somewhere.”
Lauren explained how she was still writing but she had shied away from penning music until May 2018 when she had a spark of inspiration which hasn’t gone away.
“I still wrote but I didn’t really write music. I really started writing music with my verses on the features I did.
“And then I really started in May of last year. My heart opened up in ways that I haven’t experienced in a long time and I’ve been opening it up further and further ever since.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Scooter Braun has paid tribute to Justin Bieber on the anniversary of his first single.
The music manager has reflected on how he was confident the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker would “change the game” with his track ‘One Time’ and had to call in favours in order to get the single made and how they turned to social media in order to promote the new artist in a way which had never been done before.
He wrote on Instagram: “10 years ago today we launched the first single for this young kid @justinbieber that I believed could change the game.
“We literally had to make the song ourselves outside of our label budget (which wasn’t even open) and my friend @trickystewart made the song with us as a favor. We put it out with no plan other than let’s hit the road with this guy @ryangood24 that @usher brought on and my friend @kennyhamilton who worked at T-Mobile in atl.
“We used YouTube and social media (never been done before at that time) to try and prove everyone wrong.
“@allisonjamiekaye and I met this wild man @dankanter who might be one of the top 438 guitar players from Canada and added him to the team. We got a dj named @djtayjames off the college scene and off we went. (sic)”
Scooter went on to “thank and honour” Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, for trusting him to take care of the singer, now 25.
He continued: “@pattiemallette we were all so young but you trusted my vision for your boy and I thank you and honor you for that. 10 years later our lives have changed and that floppy haired kid has become a legend.(sic)”
And the executive went on to express his pride in Justin, who is currently at the top of the charts with ‘I Don’t Care’, his duet with Ed Sheeran.
He wrote: “But beyond all his achievements since …I’m proud of the young man he has become. His heart for others is incredible and his growth at such a young age is admired.
“We have come so far in 10 years and so many other hits have happened (literally one right now with @teddysphotos at the top of the global charts) both in music and in life. But one thing has remained constant…

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender has a card that entitles him to unlimited free Greggs for life.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter – who celebrated his Critics’ Choice BRIT Award this February by buying loads of Greggs sausage rolls and throwing them round the venue – has revealed that he’s been given a VIP card for “Geordie royalty” which ensures him free products from the bakery for life.
In an interview with Q magazine, he said: “Greggs for life mate. You just walk in and go ‘Bing!’ You’ve got to be Geordie royalty to get one of these.
“It’s basically me, Shearer, Jimmy Nail, Ant & Dec, Cheryl and Sting. Sting’s probably not a Greggs man but he’d definitely be allowed one.”
The ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ hitmaker went on to explain that he won’t be eating any junk food for a while – despite his merchandise being packaged in special kebab shop themed tin foil – as after his recent stint in the US, he projectile vomited thanks to all the fast food he’d eaten.
He added: “I’ve never puked that much in my whole life. It was ridiculous, I puked out the American flag.”
The ‘Play God’ singer is set to tour this summer following the release of his hotly-anticipated debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ however is concerned his recent call to jury service may affect his upcoming tour dates.
He said: “I’ve just seen I’ve got Jury service in July for f**k sake If I can’t get out of that then I’m f***ed.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Ellis Bextor didn’t want to iron out any “faults” in her voice on her new album.
The 40-year-old singer’s songs have been rearranged with orchestral accompaniment on ‘The Song Diaries’ and the ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ hitmaker was keen to make her part in the recording process as simple as possible, even if that meant there were flaws.
She told You magazine: “I didn’t want to put out a greatest hits album with the same recordings on it – those songs are already out there. So these are new arrangements, and there are no overdubs, no Autotune, I wanted my voice to be recorded in one take.
“Especially with the orchestral stuff, I wanted it to sound as if I’d just walked into the room. I’m not frightened of things that have a bit of fragility, or a fault. I don’t understand why it’s so fashionable to iron all of that out. If there’s something a bit genuine, people respond to it a lot better.
“I think we see that on people’s Instagram accounts too. Generally, it’s accounts where people have something that’s quite authentic about them that people quite like… Of course I say that, but then there are probably some really manicured ones who have got way more followers. But in my head, at least, it’s the authentic ones that work.”
Sophie – who has sons Sonny, 15, Kit, 10, Ray, seven, Jesse, three, and Mickey, four months, with husband Richard Jones – is preparing to go on tour in support of the record and admitted the gigs will be “intense”, but she’s looking forward to the challenge.
She said: “It’s quite an intense gig for me, this one.
“The first half of the concert is pure orchestra with me alone, and then the band come out to join me and we go full disco – Studio 54, Philadelphia strings, layers and layers – which is really fun because you’ve got 30 musicians playing it live.
“But the first half is so delicate, between me and the orchestra, that I just feel I really need to concentrate.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher’s second solo album will be his ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ moment.
The director behind the former Oasis rocker’s upcoming documentary ‘As It Was’ has opened up about what fans can expect from the follow-up to 2018’s chart topping debut ‘As You Were’, and filmmaker Charlie Lightening has insisted it could have the same impact as the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ band’s influential and iconic 1995 sophomore release.
He told NME: “It’s a continuation of ‘As You Were’. If you look at ‘Definitely Maybe’ and ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, one’s the more punkier one and one’s the bigger one, you know what I mean?
“That’s progression. It’s someone in the prime of it all. People aren’t gonna be disappointed with it. I think it’s gonna blow people away.”
The upcoming film will feature new song ‘Once’, and Charlie insisted it could be the best track Liam’s recorded as a solo artist.
He added: “I think it’s way better than ‘Wall Of Glass’. It hits you harder. [The album] is a continuation of ‘As You Were’ but it’s just that bit bigger -if you’re doing something for the second time, you’ve got more confidence behind you.
“The first single is so catchy – the middle-eight on it is just mega and then it goes into a massive chorus. It’s brilliant.
“It’s the sort of song you put on for stomping the streets – it’s a got a proper stomp to it. You can hear these songs in stadiums. It’s that sort of vibe. And that’s the difference between a ‘Definitely Maybe’ and a ‘Morning Glory.’ ”
‘As It Was’ will focus on Liam’s journey from “boredom, booze and legal battles” to solo star with the release of his debut solo LP ‘As You Were’ and subsequent sold-out global concerts.
The release of the documentary will be marked with a an “exclusive performance” at the premiere at London’s Alexandra Palace on Thursday June 6

OHMYGOSSIP — Soundgarden and the Chris Cornell Estate have announced immersive events for the ‘Live From the Artists Den’ release.
The ‘Black Hole Sun’ group – whose frontman tragically took his own life in May 2017 – has revealed plans for three exciting screenings of their 2013 live show as part of an exciting new collection.
The two hour, 29 song show will be aired in Los Angeles and New York along with a hometown screening in Seattle, and the group hopes to takes fans back to the original taping in an authentic way.
Chris’ widow Vicky Cornell said in a statement: “This live show was really special, and I know how much fun Chris had that night. The idea of giving fans the opportunity to experience it in its entirety is something I’m proud to share with them.”
Guitarist Kim Thayil added: “We were very proud and excited to document the performance of our new material from King Animal, and to celebrate with each other and our fans.”
‘Soundgarden: Live From The Artists Den’ will be released on July 26, and a Super Deluxe edition package will feature the film in its entirety, plus over 30 minutes of bonus interviews with the group.
It will also include two CDs, four black 180-gram audiophile LPs, a 40-page photo book, four band member lithos, a replica artist all-access pass and ticket stub from the original show.
Fans will be able to pre-order the digital live album and digital live video formats from May 31.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed earlier this year that Chris’ friend Brad Pitt is currently working on a documentary about the late star.
A spokesperson for the rocker’s estate confirmed the project is in the works but declined to offer any further details.

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot’s upcoming sixth studio album is called ‘We Are Not Your Kind’.
The heavy metal outfit have announced the hotly-anticipated record, which is produced by Greg Fidelman, will drop on August 9th, and guitarist Jim Root admitted the ‘Wait and Bleed’ hitmakers were keen to create a “front to back” album experience rather than just an array of singles.
He said: “This is the most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together.
“One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full length albums – not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”
The band have also dropped the music video for new single ‘Unsainted’, which was directed by Slipknot percussionist Michael Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan.
He added: “These days the art we are making comes with the highest reward, because it’s taken the most time.
“Almost four years to create this emotion and temperature, and the reward now is nothing short of salvation.”
Slipknot have revealed the ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ tracklisting, but it doesn’t appear to feature recent single ‘All Out Life’, which they dropped last year.
The group are to appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Friday (17.05.19), on which they will perform ‘Unsainted’ and ‘All Out Life’ for the first time.
They tweeted: “We are excited to share with you the next evolution of #Slipknot tomorrow night. Our two song performance on @JimmyKimmelLive will mark the live world premieres of “Unsainted” and “All Out Life.” Are you ready? (sic)”
Slipknot also unveiled their new masks earlier this week, and Shawn said his wife Chantel is not a huge fan of the designs.
He admitted she “doesn’t like the new masks”, adding: “I’ll just let the whole world know that. She’s not feeling it at all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Lumineers think it is a “crazy time” to be releasing music.
The ‘Ho Hey’ hitmakers are releasing three EPs – featuring songs about the fictional Sparks family – in the coming months ahead of compiling them onto third album ‘III’ and admitted they wanted to “trick” people into renewing their interest in longer forms and taking advantage of the fact there is no longer a conventional release schedule around singles and LPs.
Singer Wesley Schultz said: “We had this idea of passing out a record in chapters because, for us, it’s a way of tricking people into getting into the longer form.
“Childish Gambino came out with a single, ‘This Is America’, not even part of an EP, and it was one of the biggest songs of the year. It’s a pretty crazy time so why not embrace it?”
The songs touch on subjects including addiction, depression and dysfunctional relationships, and while they are centred around the lives of grandmother Gloria Sparks, her son Jimmy and grandson Junior, Wesley admitted they are based on members of his own family, but he created the aliases to give them some anonymity.
He told The Sun newspaper: “[The Sparks family gives] a layer of anonymity for people in my extended family that I’m singing about.
“I’m trying to give them a bit of privacy while still really airing some dirty laundry.”
Meanwhile, the group are huge fans of the Glastonbury festival and even though the music industry is changing, it’s one thing they don’t believe will ever go away.
Wesley said: “At a time when we’re increasingly lost in our own individual vacuums, it’s very communal and I think that’s why it will remain. You can’t replicate it by watching the DVD.”
His bandmate, Jeremiah Fraites, added: “It’s amazing, one of a kind. It’s like a scene from Braveheart with all the flags.
“The Coachellas and Lollapaloozas of America are very polished. Glastonbury is very nice but it’s also very raw with the mud, the rain, the fields. And getting there is insane.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B leads the nominations for the 2019 BET Awards with seven nods.
The ‘I Like It’ rapper continues her award season domination with her acclaimed album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ landing her a nomination for Album of the Year.
The former ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ star is up against R&B star Ella Mai’s self-titled debut, Meek Mill’s ‘Championships’, The Carters (Beyonce and Jay-Z) ‘Everything Is Love’ and Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ in the album category.
Cardi’s other nominations are Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, the Viewers’ Choice Award for ‘I Like It’ with J Balvin and Bad Bunny, Video of the Year for ‘Money’ and Bruno Mars collaboration ‘Please Me’.
‘I Like It’ and ‘Please Me’ also earned the star two places in the Best Collaboration category.
Also up for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist is Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma, Kash Doll and Megan Thee Stallion.
Late rapper Nipsey Hussle – who was tragically shot dead outside his Marathon clothing store on March 31 – has been honoured with a posthumous nomination for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, which sees him in competition with J. Cole, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, 21 Savage and Drake.
The latter follows closely behind Cardi with a total of five nods.
The ‘Passionfruit’ rapper’s chart-topper ‘Nice For What’ will battle it out with the two Cardi promos, plus Childish Gambino’s ‘This Is America’, ‘Apes**t’ by The Carters and 21 Savage and J. Cole’s ‘A Lot’.
Drake has also received nods for Best Collaboration for his Travis Scott feature ‘Sicko Mode’, Video of the Year for ‘Nice for What’ and ‘In My Feelings’ is up for the Viewers’ Choice prize.
Ella Mai and H.E.R. have stiff competition in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist category with Beyoncé, her younger sister Solange, SZA and Teyana Taylor all in contention for the accolade.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Tedder penned OneRepublic’s new song ‘Rescue Me’ in “10 minutes or less”.
The ‘Stop and Stare’ group dropped the track on Friday (17.05.19) and the frontman and chief songwriter has revealed that the idea came to him like a “stream of consciousness’.
Speaking about the single, which questions a person’s loyalty in a friendship, Ryan said: “Rescue Me was written very quickly, 10 minutes or less almost a stream of consciousness.
“It was me telling Brent, our bass player and cellist, ‘I wanna write a song with a concept I had started a few years ago (called ‘Rescue Me’)’.
“He started playing this lonely sounding guitar riff and the first thing out of my mouth was the chorus as it is now.
“The concept: In every friendship there’s a give and take, but sometimes you have to wonder if the love you give is the love you’ll get.”
The accompanying music video was shot in Silverton, Oregon, and helmed by Christian Lamb of Black Dog Films, who recently directed Beyonce’s ‘Formation Tour’ and Childish Gambino’s ‘This Is America Tour’.
The promo was executive produced by Julia Ochsenreiter and produced by Holly Harding with cinematography by Mack Fisher and choreography by Sherrie Silver.
‘Rescue Me’ is the first new music from the band since their Galantis feature on ‘Bones’, which was released earlier this year.
Prior to the collaboration with the Swedish electronic dance duo, the group released the 2018 tracks ‘Connection’ and ‘Start Again’ featuring Logic.
The former track was accompanied with a moving promo directed by Joel Pront and choreographed by Matthew Peacock, which was shot at The Oculus, which is New York City’s newest addition to the 9/11 memorial and gave the release a profound feeling.
Focused on the differences between the digital world and reality, the clip starts in black and white before later bursting into full colour as they perform in the middle of the building.
In the chorus of the anthemic track – which also featured in Jeep’s annual Summer of Jeep campaign – Tedder sings: “Can I get a connection? Can I get, can I get a connection?”
The band had fans take part in the shoot as extras for the live performance.
Meanwhile, Ryan admitted last year that he and his bandmates – who released their last album ‘On My Way’ in 2016 – had “hit a wall” after a decade on the road.
The 39-year-old musician said the ‘Counting Stars’ group had burned themselves out and became “victims of our own ambition” by pushing themselves too hard, and that’s why they decided to take a three-month hiatus in 2017.
Speaking in 2018, he shared: “We reached our 10-year anniversary last January, and we celebrated by taking three months off!
“We went in too hard with too many things and we eventually become victims of our own ambition.
“In a decade, I don’t think any one of us has patted ourselves on the back.
“We operate under the assumption that it could all be gone tomorrow, that the very next song you put out could be a complete disaster.
“I think for a lot of artists it takes hitting the wall before you realise where the wall is.
“You’re running in the dark and then it hits you.
“Now that I know where that wall is, I believe and pray that I’ll never hit it again.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has confirmed she has finished work on her upcoming album.
The ‘ME!’ hitmaker has revealed her new LP has been completed and she would only change the tracklisting if she wrote another amazing song.
Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said: “Yes [it’s finished]. Unless I like write something else, then I’ll probably put it on the album.”
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old singer previously confessed she tried not to have any “expectation” going into the studio to pen this new album.
She shared: “I try not to go into making an album with any expectation. I started to write so much that I knew immediately it would probably be bigger. There’s a lot of a lot on this album. I’m trying to convey an emotional spectrum. I definitely don’t wanna have too much of one thing. You get some joyful songs and you get the bops, as they say. There’s some really, really, really, really sad songs but not enough to where you need to worry about me.”
Her new LP is quite different from her last release, ‘reputation’, and she credits her fans for changing the direction of her new music.
She said: “It’s definitely the fans that made that tonal shift in the way I was feeling. This time around I feel more comfortable being brave enough to be vulnerable, because my fans are brave enough to be vulnerable with me.
“Once people delve into the album, it’ll become pretty clear that that’s more of the fingerprint of this – that it’s much more of a singer-songwriter, personal journey than the last one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX and Lizzo have vowed to “save pop music” with new single ‘Blame It On Your Love’.
The ‘I Love It’ hitmaker and the ‘Tempo’ singer have announced their hotly-anticipated collaboration, which Charli teased on her social media profiles earlier this week, will be released later on Wednesday (15.05.19) and they have set expectations high with the bold claim.
Alongside a snap of the pair enjoying a drink in a swanky bar, with Lizzo holding a sign reading “Bout 2 Save Pop Music”, Charli wrote: “TEEHEE RT IF U AGREE BLAME IT ON YOUR LOVE FEATURING @LIZZO DROPS TOMORROW ANGELS!! (sic)”
The 26-year-old pop star later gushed about how lucky she is to work with “so many inspiring and iconic” artists, including the likes of Troye Sivan, Kim Petras, Carly Rae Jepsen and regular collaborator A. G. Cook.
She tweeted: “I’m so happy I get to collab with so many inspiring & iconic artists!!! Like, @lizzobeeating is an icon!!! @troyesivan is an icon!!! @brookecandy @cupcakkeofficial @pabllovittar @carlyraejepsen @agcook404 @SOPHIEMSMSMSM @kimpetras & EVERYONE I’ve worked with! Omg life is good (sic)”
The ‘Boom Clap’ hitmaker took to Instagram to share her excitement about her Lizzo collaboration on Monday (13.05.19) and joked that her fans should “prep [her] grave” because she’s so happy to have landed the dream gig.
Alongside a Polaroid-style picture with the sassy ‘Juice’ hitmaker, Charli teased: “IMAGINE IF I MADE A SONG WITH @LIZZOBEEATING AKA THE QUEEN OF EVERYTHING – WOULD U DIE??? I WOULD DIEEEEEEEE!!! PREP MY GRAVE ASAP WE GOT A BOP COMING THIS WEEK. SPAM ME WITH LOVEEEEE ANGELS!!!! (sic)”
‘Blame It On Your Love’ will mark the first new music from Charli since October’s ‘1999’ featuring Troye.
Whilst Lizzo released her debut album ‘Cuz I Love You’ to critical acclaim last month.
Meanwhile, Charli has teamed up with her pal Troye to curate a “new kind of pride festival”, Go West Fest in Los Angeles, which will benefit LGBTQ+ media organisation GLAAD and local charities.
The latter tweeted: “A new kind of pride festival curated by me n @charli_xcx that celebrates the inclusivity, artistry, music, kinks, merchants, and creativity of the LGBTQ community, while really giving back to our community.”
Both of them will perform alongside a host of artists at The Wiltern on June 6.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sting and Imagine Dragons were honoured at BMI’s 67th Annual Pop Awards on Tuesday night (14.05.19).
The 67-year-old music legend’s band The Police’s 1983 hit ‘Every Breath You Take’ was named Most Performed Song out of over 14 million musical works at the prestigious songwriters ceremony at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Sting – who was joined by his wife Trudie Styler at the bash – said: “I am so deeply proud to be a member of this community of songwriters.
“There’s a rare nobility in this profession that is more than just mere entertainment, and I believe it has something to do with the form of a song.”
The ‘Shape of My Heart’ hitmaker – who was the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for the new wave rock band The Police from 1977 to 1984, before he launched a successful solo career in 1985 – also gave an acoustic performance of the classic track which was sampled by P. Diddy, Faith Evans and 112 in 1995 on ‘I’ll Be Missing You’, and topped the charts across the globe.
Dan Reynolds’ band followed in the footsteps of the likes of Luis Fonsi, Pink, Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and Ludacris in receiving this year’s BMI President’s Award.
Plus their songs ‘Thunder’ – which has had over a billion streams – and ‘Whatever It Takes’ from their third LP ‘Evolve’ were named among the top-performed songs of the past year.
The band were recognised for their impressive career achievements, which include selling 12 million albums and 35 million singles worldwide and for their philanthropic efforts, having recently raised $8 million to help fight childhood cancer for The Tyler Robinson Foundation.
They also took to the stage to perform ‘It’s Time’, ‘Believer’ and ‘Radioactive’.
Bebe Rexha, Joshua Miller and Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Meant to Be’ was also named BMI Pop Song of the Year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert has released new track ‘New Eyes’ from his fourth studio album ‘Velvet’.
The 37-year-old star took a break from his solo career four years ago to go on tour with Queen, before returning in February with the single ‘Feel Something’.
He has now embarked on a new chapter with the release of the first single from his long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s ‘The Original High’, a rock-influenced number, which has a “romantic, earthy vibe”, and sees the ‘American Idol’ alumni – who has been dating Spanish hunk Javi Costa Polo for a few months – sing about having “chemistry like candy” and being “naked and free”.
He belts out: “This chemistry like candy to me/I’m addicted to the sweet, sleepy haze/ So whisper at me, get me wavy/ Naked and free, never no room for shame.”
Speaking about the track, the ‘For Your Entertainment’ singer said: “I wanted my first single to reflect my current state of mind and to bring listeners into a romantic, earthy vibe. ‘New Eyes’ is a love letter to innocence and to finding new passions.”
The song is accompanied by a cinematic 70s-inspired video short directed by Miles & AJ, which will be followed up with Part 2 soon.
Announcing his “new era”, Adam previously teased: “A new era begins May 15th: My new single #NewEyes .”
When he announced ‘Feel Something’, Adam penned an open letter to his fans about a “dark” period he went through and admitted he felt like he was forced to “compromise his artistic vision”.
He wrote: “Let me offer a most sincere thank you for your patience and continued faith in me. You’ve pushed me to keep going even when I felt discouraged.
“I love making and performing music, but there have been many times where I’ve had to compromise on my artistic vision, with executives making decisions based on money and not art.
“Don’t get me wrong–I’m VERY proud of my body of work. But I’m coming out of a dark period of second-guessing my own artistry and having my mental health suffer because of it. I started asking myself, ‘Is all this hustle really worth it?’
“I put all my focus on work and started to feel detached in my personal life. My self worth was suffering, I was lonely, and becoming depressed.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno has described his new solo project The S.L.P. as an “outlet to keep [him] sane”.
Kasabian’s chief songwriter-and-guitarist has just released his debut single ‘Favourites’ featuring his rapper friend Little Simz, which is about how people present themselves as having the perfect life on social media, and he has explained that he decided to start the project as a place to showcase the “extreme sides” of his “personality”.
He said: “These are the extreme sides of my personality that I can explore.
“This is another place that I can visit. Now that it exists, I can go there whenever I want. It’s an outlet to keep me sane.”
On the meaning behind the track and wanting Simz to be involved from the start, he told NME.com: “It’s a question of identity in the digital age. We flick through all these photos to choose the favourite, go out on a date and move on before it’s even ended.
“Some of us maybe laugh about the use of ‘the favourite’.
“I was having a 3am session and this track evolved.
“That’s when I realised that it needed Little Simz to be on it, because she’s incredible. I explained what the track was all about to her and she was just buzzing.”
The ‘You’re In Love With a Psycho’ hitmaker admitted he enjoyed having the “freedom” to have full creative control and said it felt like a great “luxury” being given a “little window” to experiment whilst Kasabian took a break.
He said: “Kasabian organised some time off, and I’ve never afforded myself that luxury – well, none of us have really.
“We’ve never stopped. I found a perfect little window to experiment and see where that took me.
“I just enjoyed that freedom of being able to do whatever.
“I had been writing notes in my phone.
“I was interested in people having these online personas and this perfect projection of themselves; do you know what I mean? This is what we put out there, but in reality none of us are really like that.”
The rocker reassured fans that his solo career won’t got in the way of his band, as he’s also been busy writing songs for their follow-up to 2017’s ‘For Crying Out Loud’.
Serge says penning tracks for The S.L.P. took him out of his “comfort zone” and will mean he can bring a whole new perspective to the ‘Processed Beats’ group when they hit the studio again.
He said: “If something feels good, then you should follow the art.
“Great zones don’t come from comfort zones. This feels great now, and it’s great that I’ve got the time to do it.
“Kasabian is a huge machine that we’ve created. There’s a routine and you’re safe in that place, but you need something else to happen. “Sometimes there needs to be a storm in the harbour.
“You need for everyone to go, ‘Woah, what’s going on?’ When the day breaks, you see the clarity.
“Me having something else to do means that when we come back I’ll be in a whole new headspace that wasn’t possible before.”
Serge also teased that there could be a whole album to come from his side outlet.
He said: “There may be. We’re going to see how it goes. I’m never out of the studio. That’s my place. I’m always writing, always working. Luckily that’s my job.”
