OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May has heaped praise on Adam Lambert for doing “all the stuff” Queen frontman Freddie Mercury did “and more”.
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmaker has paid the former ‘American Idol’ contestant the biggest compliment for his phenomenal work stepping in for the late great enigmatic singer.
And although he feels it’s impossible to compare the two stars, he admitted Adam has a “parallel set of equipment” to Freddie – who tragically died in 1991 aged 45 due to complications from AIDS – whilst he said the band treat him like he was the ‘Radio Ga Ga’ hitmaker.
In an interview with Guitar World magazine, the guitar legend said: “Adam can do all the stuff that Freddie did and more.
“It doesn’t matter what you throw at Adam — he can do it…
“He’s a born exhibitionist. He’s not Freddie, and he’s not pretending to be him, but he has a parallel set of equipment.
“We treat Adam exactly the same as we treated Freddie in almost every way.”
Brian previously admitted Freddie would “love and hate” Adam, because he would be jealous of his “one in a billion” vocals.
He said: “Freddie would love and hate him, because Adam has a real gift from God.
“It’s a voice in a billion, nobody has that range, nobody that I’ve ever worked with, not just the range but the quality throughout the range. I’ve seen Adam develop just like I watched Freddie develop.”
The 71-year-old musician – who has continued the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ band’s legacy alongside drummer Roger Taylor, 69 – also credited the 37-year-old star with their longevity.
He added: “In no way does he imitate Freddie but he provides that piece of the jigsaw puzzle. It’s stupendous, we would never be doing this now if it weren’t for Adam.
“Sometimes I stop playing because I think ‘what did he just do?’ He’s so free with his interpretations and it’s just spine-chilling. The sound he makes and way he interprets a song.”
Adam joined the line-up after he sang with Queen during the ‘American Idol’ eight season finale – which saw him finish runner-up – and then joined them for an award show in Ireland and they’ve continued to tour as Queen + Adam Lambert ever since
Brian explained: “There was something about Adam, this chemistry was instant and it was like we were already in a band with him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have teased a steamy music video for a new collaboration.
The Canadian hunk shared a 21-second teaser of the promo on Instagram on Tuesday (18.06.19), which shows the pair playing lovers as they look like they are just about to share a kiss in the preview.
The song appears to document the pair as they meet at a diner Camila’s alter ego is working at, as she is seen in a pink dress behind the bar.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker has shared another part of the video on her profile of her delivering food to a table and locking eyes with the ‘In My Blood’ singer.
The pair then head out to the back to share a kiss, but the smooch is not shown.
A title for the duet is yet to be revealed.
The collaboration – which will follow their 2015 track ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ from Shawn’s LP ‘Handwritten’ – has been rumoured for months after the pair were spotted together.
The pop duo previously denied rumours they are dating.
Camila is now in a relationship with British dating guru Matthew Hussey.
Gushing about Camila previously, Shawn – who is currently believed to be single – said: “I don’t think you’ll ever meet somebody who can feel emotion like her.
“She can feel hurt like no other, but she can feel love like no other.”
Camila recently teamed up with Mark Ronson on ‘Find U Again’ from his LP ‘Late Night Feelings’ and both her and Shawn are working on new records.
The former Fifth Harmony member, 22, is busy at work on her follow-up to her 2018 self-titled debut solo effort, whilst prolific writer Shawn, 20, is working on new music for his fourth studio effort, which is poised to be released later this year and follows last year’s eponymous LP.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nas performed a selection of his new and classic hits in front of a star-studded crowd at Spotify Beach at Cannes Lions festival on Tuesday (18.06.19).
The US rapper performed a set featuring ‘If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)’ – which has over a billion streams on the streaming service – plus ‘N.Y. State of Mind’ from his 1994 debut album ‘Illmatic’.
Other selections including 2002’s ‘I Can’ and a remix of ‘Sweet Dreams.’
And in the perfect setting on the French Riviera, the 45-year-old rap legend performed ‘Bonjour’ from 2018’s ‘NASIR’.
Watching on was Gabriel Union and her basketball ace husband Dwayne Wade, Ciara and her spouse Russell Wilson, pop star Bebe Rexha and British supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Nas also confirmed to the audience that ‘The Lost Tapes II’ is in the works – a follow-up to 2002’s ‘Lost Taps’, which was comprised of unreleased tracks recorded for 1999’s ‘I Am…’ and 2001’s ‘Stillmatic’.
Elsewhere, Swizz Beatz also performed on the main stage, with ‘Fancy’ and ‘Money in the Bank’ performed alongside golden oldies ‘Ruff Ryders’ ‘Anthem’ and ‘Let Me Clear My Throat.’
And Camila Cabello took part in a Q&A with Spotify’s Dawn Ostroff to discuss the ‘Power of Audio’ at Cannes Lions.
Dawn said: “Today we have music without borders. “Gen Z does not see borders when they listen to music.
“On Spotify, you can hear music from anywhere that is culturally relevant.
“It’s all about storytelling through music and podcasts.”
The ‘Find U Again’ singer spoke about the “hardcore” bond she shares with her fans.
Camila told her: “I have a hardcore relationship with my fans.
“They’ve known me since I was 14 years-old.
“We’ve grown up with each other. They know me very well and really sincerely care about me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has had to pull out of her headline performance at the Secret Solstice Festival in Iceland due to a recurring chest infection.
The 28-year-old singer was due to top the bill on Friday (21.06.19) at the event in Reykjavik but she has been advised by her doctors to take some time off to recover from the illness.
In a series of Twitter posts, Rita said: “I’m very sad to have to let all those attending the Solstice in Iceland know that I’m not going to be able to headline as planned. I’ve been struggling with a re-occurring chest infection and have been advised by my doctors to take time out to recover.
“I was so excited to spend time in Iceland and be part of this festival. I never take any cancellation lightly as I’m always hugely grateful for all the opportunities I have to perform as I love performing.
“I’m especially disappointed and heartbroken when it means letting down my wonderful fans. I’m so sorry to not be there! I love you all and thank you for your support.”
Rita vowed to make it up to her fans in Iceland by returning to perform in 2020.
She tweeted: “I look forward to celebrating Solstice 2020 with you!”
The Summer Solstice Festival kicks off on Friday and will run over the entire weekend, with Iceland’s 24-hour summer sun helping keep the party going.
Although it is not yet known who will replace Rita at the top of the bill other acts performing include The Black Eyed Peas, Foreign Beggars, infamous Russian feminist band Pussy Riot and Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters.

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has announced her new LP ‘Lover’ and a collaboration with Stella McCartney.
The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker revealed on Thursday (13.06.19) that she will release new single ‘You Need to Calm Down’ at midnight and that the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Reputation’ will arrive on August 23.
She tweeted: “Lover, album out August 23. Cover shot by the artistic genius that is @valheria123 Pre-add, pre-save, pre-order (all the pre stuff you feel like doing) Can’t wait for you to hear this. http://taylorswift.lnk.to/LoverTw (sic)”
The 29-year-old pop star – who is dating British actor Joe Alwyn – also revealed that the album, which consists of 18 tracks, is “really romantic” and that she has teamed up with Sir Paul McCartney’s fashion designer daughter for the project, with the artwork featuring an outfit by the 47-year-old beauty.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Taylor said: “She’s been a friend for a really long time, and also just a woman I respect so much.
“I respect what she creates, how she creates it. There’s so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing that she designs, and I’ve worn a lot of her stuff recently.”
The pair will release a whole clothing line together after McCartney was “inspired” by ‘Lover’.
The ‘End Game’ singer added: “She’s heard the new album, and this new collaboration is inspired by the ‘Lover’ album … I’m so excited about that, and really excited that she would want to collaborate in this way.”
Taylor previously revealed that the album’s title was hidden in her music video for ‘ME!’ featuring Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry and Taylor recently sparked speculation they are set to release a collaboration.
The ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ hitmaker famously fell out with her fellow pop star over their dancers and touring crew a number of years ago, but they have since buried the hatchet, and Taylor recently added Katy’s new track, ‘Never Really Over’, to her ‘ME!’ Apple Playlist.
KatyCats and Swifties – their respective fanbases – believe the famous pair are plotting a duet, as Katy posted a plate of cookies with ‘Peace At Last’ iced around the plate with Taylor tagged on Instagram.
The 34-year-old singer captioned the snap of the baked goods: “feels good @taylorswift (sic).”
She also set her location as “Let’s Be Friends”, a potential song title, and Taylor commented with 13 pink love heart emojis, her lucky number.
Back in 2018, Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch as a call to end their long running feud.
The duo had been at loggerheads since 2014 when Taylor accused Katy of sabotaging her ‘Red Tour’ by stealing three of her backing dancers.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bastille’s Dan Smith feels like an “imposter”.
The ‘Pompeii’ singer isn’t worried about the group’s experiments with different genres on their new album ‘Doom Days’ because he’s “comfortable” with where they are musically, even though he still feels like he leads a “double life”.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We wanted to take the listener through different moods and moments and I think we are finally really comfortable with where we are at.
“Don’t get me wrong, I still feel like an imposter and I still think we lead this double life where we go off on tour, play these shows and then go home and everything is back to normal.
“But we’ve never really cared about genre. It is irrelevant to us and so on our albums or our mix tapes we’ve done everything from pop to hip-hop to guitar music. We do whatever we want to.”
Away from Bastille, Dan has also written for the likes of Craig David, Foxes, and Tears For Fears, and was amazed by the success of ‘Happier’, the track he penned for Marshmello because he feels like a “tourist” when writing mainstream pop tracks.
He said: “That experience with Marshmello and Craig David was so interesting because we are not pure pop and still feel like tourists in that world.
“I wrote that song with Steve Mac with Justin Bieber in mind but sent it to Marshmello. I’m not the biggest EDM fan but I liked his production on his track ‘Silence’.
“It was incredibly surreal to watch ‘Happier’ fly up the charts in America and all over the world.”
And the frontman worried he was out of his depth when he was asked to perform with Pink at the Brit Awards earlier this year.
He said: “I met her at rehearsals.
“I walked in and she was hanging from a trapeze with 100 dancers around her. Then I forgot all the words to the song we were singing and wanted to crawl into a hole on the floor. But she was so nice.
“It was humbling to see someone so huge who has had such an amazing career and see how kind and thoughtful she was.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX will release her new album ‘Charli’ on September 13.
The ‘I Love It’ hitmaker has announced her upcoming third record – the long awaited follow-up to 2014’s ‘Sucker’ LP – and there are some exciting collaborations on the tracklisting for fans to look forward to.
As well as new single ‘Blame It On Your Love’ alongside Lizzo, Charli has also worked with the likes of Christine and the Queens (‘Gone’), Sky Ferreira (‘Cross You Out’), Troye Sivan (‘1999’ and ‘2099’) and HAIM (‘Warm’).
The 26-year-old singer tweeted: “Angels, my new album ‘Charli’ is out September 13th. i am so proud of this music and i cannot wait for the world to hear it. (sic)”
The record is available for pre-order now, and the announcement has also coincided with the revelation of a world tour later this year, which will take the star across the US, UK and Europe.
She added: “This will be a party like never before!”
Charli will kicks things off with a whole host summer festival dates including Pukklepop in Belgium, Reading and Leeds Festival and Electreic Picnic in Ireland.
In September, she will start her US run in support of the new record, before hitting the UK in October for shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
The European leg of the tour starts on November 4 in Stockholm, Sweden, and the 16 dates take her through the likes of Germany, France, Poland, Spain and Luxembourg before a final show at the Izvestia Hall in Moscow, Russia.

OHMYGOSSIP — Westlife’s return was inspired by Beyonce.
The ‘When You’re Looking Like That’ band is currently on their comeback tour, and they decided to “take charge” for their career after seeing the ‘Crazy In Love’ hitmaker’s Coachella documentary ‘Homecoming’ on Netflix.
Kian Egan told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I remember watching the Beyonce documentary and it was funny, you could see how much of a captain she was on her own ship and for a long time we used to let people do it for us.
“But after watching that documentary I remember ringing the boys up and going: ‘Have you seen the documentary? Watch it, we need to be in charge, we need full control.’ ”
And Mark Feehily revealed the group – completed by Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan – are plotting a behind the scenes film of their own to show fans what they’re really all about.
He added: “We would love people to know a little more of us as people because historically the label kept a very clean image of us.
“And when people think of Westlife they think of stools, key changes and that’s part of it. But I don’t think people have truly seen our personalities.”
He confirmed that filming is underway at the moment, and they’ll be looking into what they can do with the footage once the project is finished.
Meanwhile, Westlife will also be releasing new album ‘Spectrum’ later this year.
They previously explained: “‘Spectrum’ is a title that represents the various different shades and colours of our personalities, vocals and general perspectives that all blend together in a unique way to create Westlife.
“It’s also a word that represents the various shades and colours in the band, meaning it’s the perfect metaphor for our different points of view and perspectives but together, they somehow join to work perfectly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Daltrey says The Who’s new album is their best since ‘Quadrophenia’.
Although the iconic rock group’s frontman was originally skeptical about their first collection since 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’, after hearing it he thinks it’s their strongest record in 46 years.
Speaking during a Q&A at pop-up shop The Who @ 52, the NME quoted him as saying: “When I first heard the songs I was very skeptical as I didn’t think I could do it
“I thought [Pete Townshend] had written a really great solo album and I said to him, ‘Pete, what do you need to do this for? Release it as a solo album, it’s great.’ But he said he wanted it to be a Who album.
“So I took the songs away and I listened to them, and listened to them some more, and I had some ideas. [Pete] let me have a bit of freedom with changing a few things, changing the tenses of songs and other little things.
“And he gave me complete melodic freedom. And I gotta tell you that after being very skeptical I’m now incredibly optimistic. I think we’ve made our best album since ‘Quadrophenia.’ ”
The band’s iconic sixth record – a double album – was released in 1973 featuring tracks like ‘The Real Me’, ‘Sea and Sand’, and ‘Drowned’, and the rock opera was given a big screen adaptation of the same name six years later.
Daltrey previously revealed that he visualises himself panting a picture when he is “interpreting” Townshend’s lyrics and admitted it can take a long time because it has to “come from [his] heart”.
He explained: “For me, interpreting the songs is challenging, like painting a portrait of an incredibly interesting looking person.
“I have to do a lot of sketches before I get it right and when I get it right, I know it in my head. One of my problems is that I can’t read lyrics and sing them. They have to come from my heart.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper quit booze after seeing his friends die young.
The ‘School’s Out’ rocker was friends with the likes of Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix – who both tragically passed away at the age 27 – and he was determined to take “control” to make sure he didn’t die young.
Alice, 71, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It seems a miracle I’m alive. I’ve been sober now for 37 years.
“I kind of felt it was my responsibility since I watched all my big brothers died at 27. I mean, Jimi Hendrix and I were good friends and Jim Morrison and I, and I watched them both died at 27.
“I was on my way to join them until I got a hold of myself and said, ‘I’ve got to control this.’ ”
Meanwhile, the Hollywood Vampires frontman – who named his band after the drinking club he founded in Los Angeles in the 1970s alongside the likes of John Lennon – has admitted the Beatles legend wouldn’t hear a bad word against his former bandmate Sir Paul McCartney.
He said: “No matter what was going on between him and Paul, he’d take a swing at you if he’d had enough drinks. You couldn’t say anything bad about his buddy Paul.
“And, if you said something bad about John to Paul, he would get up and leave. Paul wouldn’t take a swing at you, but he’d certainly let you know that you were out of line.”
Last month, the Hollywood Vampires – which also feature Johnny Depp and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry – released ‘The Boogieman Surprise’ from their upcoming album ‘Rise’.
Their second record is largely comprised of brand new material, but also features a tribute to Jim Carroll Band’s ‘People Who Died’ and Perry has put his own spin on Johnny Thunder’s ‘You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna has been feeling anxious about her new album.
The 60-year-old star released ‘Madame X’ – her 14th studio album and her first since 2015’s ‘Rebel Heart’ – today (14.06.19), and despite the huge success she enjoyed over her career, she still gets excited and nervous before bringing out a new LP.
In an interview set to air on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ this evening, she said: “Of course. I’m feeling anxiety right now. Every time feels like the first time.”
She added that when she’s working on her material, it doesn’t always come together in the same way, and the process can be “magic”.
She explained: “That’s the magic of collaborating. Sometimes the lyrics are in my head, sometimes it just happens in the moment.”
‘Madame X’ features recently released singles ‘Medellin’, ‘I Rise’, ‘Crave’ with Swae Lee, ‘Future’ with Quavo and ‘Dark Ballet’.
The ‘Like a Prayer’ hitmaker is also set to go on a more intimate residency tour including 11 nights at London’s 1,800 capacity Palladium Theatre.
And Madonna said the decision to book her tour – which kick off with 17 shows at the BM Howard Gilman Opera House in New York in September – in this way came from wanting to have a closer connection to her audience.
She added: “I can see everyone, and they can see me, which you can’t do in a stadium or sports arena. I want to do something different. It’s very theatrical and intimate and I’m nervous.”
In the video announcement for the tour earlier this year, Madonna said there was something special about the kind of venues she’ll be performing at.
She said at the time: “I’m going on a theatre tour. Have you experienced the magic of a theatre? The intimacy of a theatre? I want to have an intimate experience with my fans.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake received the Contemporary Icon Award at the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame event.
The ‘Cry Me A River’ hitmaker was spotted arriving at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City for the prestigious ceremony on Thursday night (13.06.19).
The 38-year-old singer was honoured with the prize, which was “initiated in order to celebrate a songwriter-artist who has attained an iconic status in pop culture”.
Justin became only the second musician to receive the prestigious award after 2015 recipient Lady Gaga.
Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) chairman Nile Rodgers previously heaped praise on the ‘SexyBack’ singer for his “extraordinary” body of work.
He said in a statement: “Justin is extraordinary. Like Michael Jackson and George Michael before him, he’s turned pop music into great art and made three or four of the most influential albums of the last 15 years. How? He knows the secret is extraordinary songs.
“He and Timbaland have defined an era.”
And Linda Moran, SHOF President and CEO Linda Moran hailed the former *NSYNC member – who has sold over 32 million albums around the world and written or co-written all eight of his Billboard number one singles – as “multitalented and multifaceted, respected, admired and beloved by his fans and peers alike”.
Inductees at the 2019 gala including songwriting heavyweights Dallas Austin, Missy Elliott, Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens), John Prine, Tom T. Hall and Jack Tempchin.
In addition, Halsey was set to pick up the Hal David Starlight Award, while Carole Bayer Sager was honoured with the Johnny Mercer Award, and music publisher Martin Bandier was given set the Visionary Leadership Award.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran will receive the O2 Silver Clef Award at the annual ceremony.
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter will take home the coveted prize at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on July 5 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, and has insisted the accolade “means a lot”.
In a statement, he said: “I want to thank Nordoff Robbins and O2 for the award…this means a lot and I want to applaud Nordoff Robbins for all the wonderful work they do through music therapy.”
The prize-giving will also see the likes of Sam Smith and Dua Lipa take home the awards for AEG Best Male Award and Smule Best Female Award respectively.
The ‘One Kiss’ hitmaker says she’s glad to once again be supporting the charity – which aims to improve the lives of vulnerable and isolated people through music therapy.
She said: “A few years ago, I performed at a Nordoff Robbins event which was raising funds for their music therapy work, so it’s a real pleasure to be back supporting this charity again through the O2 Silver Clef Awards.
“Music is my life, so I can’t think of a better charity to be supporting than one which uses music to enrich the lives of others. I can’t wait to be there on the day to receive this award!”
‘Fine Line’ hitmaker Mabel will presented with the Ticketmaster Best Newcomer Award while The Black Eyed Peas will be the recipients of The Raymond Weil Best International Group Award, and electro-pop band Years & Years will take home the Hard Rock Café Best Group prize.
Mabel said: “I’m so happy to be accepting the Ticketmaster Best Newcomer Award! Making music is such a fun but also emotional process, so being able to support a charity who helps others in really tough situations through music holds a special place in my heart.”
Olly from Years & Years – who has been open about his own battle with mental health in the past – added: “We are really happy to be accepting the Hard Rock Cafe best group award at the o2 silver clefs this year!
“The work Nordoff Robbins are doing is really incredible so it’s very exciting to be involved.
“Offering people a lifeline by giving them a chance to express themselves through music, like Nordoff Robbins do, reminds us how lucky we are as a band to do what we do.
“We all experience tough times and any of us can find ourselves in a vulnerable situation, music can be so healing for us in those moments.”
The evening will also see legendary electronic music The Chemical Brothers – comprised of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons – honoured with Bose Innovation Award.
They said: “We are delighted to be part of the O2 Silver Clef Awards this year and to be supporting this very special charity.
“We love expressing our inner selves creatively, forging connection and escape through music.
“Music therapy which helps people to do the same is incredibly important and inspiring for us.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheryl Crow has revealed the full list of collaborators for her new album ‘Threads’.
The 57-year-old country music legend has taken to social media to reveal the much-anticipated duets fans can expect to hear on her upcoming LP, which features collaborations with the likes of Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks and Maren Morris on ‘Prove You Wrong’, Bonnie Raitt and Mavis Staples on ‘Live Wire’, plus songs with Eric Clapton, Sting and Willie Nelson, Keith Richards, St. Vincent and ‘A Star Is Born’ actor and country star Kris Kristofferson.
And Sheryl revealed that she wanted to include various collaborations on her record because it is a “tribute” to them and “celebration” of how their music inspires her daily.
In a statement, she said: “I became inspired to record an album of musical experiences with the legacy artists who inspired me to want to be a great songwriter, musician, and producer.
“It is a celebration with them, and a tribute to them. Just as importantly, I wanted to work with younger artists on this record, who I believe will pick up the torch and continue to light the way for humanity with their stories and their songs for many years to come. Their music inspires me every day.”
The nine-time Grammy award-winner also premiered her music video for the track ‘Still The Good Old Days’, which features Joe Walsh, on Friday morning (14.06.19), and she insisted that the record is about having “fun no matter what stage of life you’re at”.
She added: “‘Still The Good Old Days’ totally captures what Joe and I believe about getting older … that life is still fun no matter what stage of life you are at, and that living isn’t just for the young.”
‘Threads’ is released on August 30.

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno has started writing the new Kasabian album.
The ‘Fire’ hitmakers have been on an extended break since touring their 2017 LP ‘For Crying Out Loud’ and although the guitarist used the hiatus to work on his debut solo album, things have gone so well he’s now turned his attention to the group’s seventh studio record.
Speaking to the new issue of Q magazine, he said: “It’s really exciting. I’m in an amazing space where if I go into the studio, something’s going to happen. They’re good times because they’re rare – usually it’s an absolute slog.”
Serge recently admitted penning tracks for his solo album, ‘The S.L.P.’ took him out of his “comfort zone” and will mean he can bring a whole new perspective to the ‘Processed Beats’ group when they hit the studio again.
He said: “If something feels good, then you should follow the art. Great zones don’t come from comfort zones. This feels great now, and it’s great that I’ve got the time to do it. Kasabian is a huge machine that we’ve created. There’s a routine and you’re safe in that place, but you need something else to happen. “Sometimes there needs to be a storm in the harbour.
“You need for everyone to go, ‘Woah, what’s going on?’ When the day breaks, you see the clarity.
“Me having something else to do means that when we come back I’ll be in a whole new headspace that wasn’t possible before.”
And Serge enjoyed having the “freedom” to have full creative control and said it felt like a great “luxury” being given a “little window” to experiment whilst Kasabian took a break.
He said: “Kasabian organised some time off, and I’ve never afforded myself that luxury – well, none of us have really. We’ve never stopped. I found a perfect little window to experiment and see where that took me. I just enjoyed that freedom of being able to do whatever. I had been writing notes in my phone. I was interested in people having these online personas and this perfect projection of themselves; do you know what I mean? This is what we put out there, but in reality none of us are really like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas considers his time on the Disney Channel to have been “the best years of training”.
The 26-year-old singer rose to international prominence alongside his brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas, gaining a large following through the TV network after starring in the 2008 movie ‘Camp Rock’ – and Nick doesn’t have any regrets about the experience.
He shared: “We really never subscribed to the narrative that ‘Disney is bad’ or bad for us. In our minds, Disney was the best years of training, how to be a professional.
“It was an enormous platform that really set us up in a big way, and we’re thankful for that.”
However, the ‘Jealous’ – who has starred in a number of movies – admits it’s taken time and effort to establish himself as a credible musician.
He reflected: “The flip side of that too was that it was limiting, at a certain point.
“When we wanted to grow and evolve as artists, it started to insulate because we felt like people that we wanted to work with, like the Ryan Tedders of the world, maybe they wouldn’t want to work with us because they didn’t take us seriously.
“But in the same breath at times, we would get recognition in a critical way.
“We were always kind of battling that, trying to figure where we landed. It wasn’t actually until we grew and aged up, and became men and actually went on a journey [that that changed].”
