OHMYGOSSIP — Scouting For Girls think their new album is their strongest in over a decade.
‘The Trouble With Boys’ will be the pop trio’s fifth studio album – and their first standalone LP since 2015’s ‘Still Thinking About You’ – and they made sure to “take extra time and care” to make the collection exactly how they wanted it.
The band said: “We are so excited to release ‘The Trouble with Boys’, our first studio album in four years.
“We’re really proud of it and genuinely feel it’s our best collection of songs since our debut.
“Both albums really benefited from the extra time and care we spent writing and recording them. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The album – which will drop on September 20 – will feature brand new summery single ‘Grow Up’, and the ‘She’s So Lovely’ hitmakers are set for a huge winter tour this year.
Although it is recognised as the first studio release in four years, Scouting For Girls did release a best off collection ‘Ten Add Ten’ two years ago to mark a decade since their self titled debut, which featured new tracks as well as the original LP.
Meanwhile, the group – made up of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Pete Ellard – will play venues like London’s Shepherds Bush Empire and Manchester’s Albert Hall on a 30-date UK tour in November and December, following a string of festival shows over the next couple of months.
They added: “Touring is our very favourite aspect of being in this band. Our 2017 anniversary tour was so incredible that we’re pulling out all the stops to beat it.
“We’ve got a handful of new tunes, some old fan favourites we haven’t played for years plus all the big singles. We can’t wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has announced Slowthai as the support for his huge UK tour.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker will be hitting the road in November – with nearly every night of the entire run of shows selling out almost instantly when tickets went on sale on Friday (12.07.19) – and he has confirmed the exciting addition to the lineup.
He tweeted: “I’m delighted to announce tickets are on sale for my UK AND IRELAND tour and the one and only slowthai will be main support (sic)”
Tickets were on sale at 9am, and within a couple of hours only Aberdeen P&J Live (November 14) and an additional date at London’s O2 Arena (November 29) had any tickets available.
Liam, 46, has previously heaped praised on rapper Slowthai, and even compared his energy to Sex Pistol’s legend Johnny Rotten.
He said: “I’ve seen Slowthai on Soccer AM and he had a bit of a Johnny Rotten vibe about him. I think he’s going to come on tour with us in November. Because it’s alright having a load of guitar bands on there, but it does get a bit…”
Slowthai showed his excitement over the announcement with a tweet of his own, adding: “slowthai and @liamgallagher dragonball z fusion as you f***ing were ST x (sic)”
The tour – which is in support of Liam’s upcoming second solo album ‘Why Me? Why Not’ – will kick off at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on November 11, before hitting up Birmingham, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle and Sheffield before a hometown gig at Manchester Arena on November 20.
From there, they’ll head to Liverpool, Dublin and Nottingham, with the tour coming to an end with two nights at the O2 in London on November 28 and 29.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran thinks his collaboration with Eminem and 50 Cent was “meant to be”.
The 28-year-old singer songwriter has teamed up with the hip hop legends on ‘Remember The Name’ – which features on his new album ‘No. 6 Collaborations Projects’ – and he suggested the trio came together thanks to “fate” after he was desperate to work with both stars.
Speaking to comedian and radio host Charlamagne Tha God on his own YouTube channel to celebrate the LP’s release, Ed said: “I walked in Eminem’s dressing room, and it’s him and 50 Cent in there. I was like, this has to be meant to be!
“I think they were quite weird about it, because I was like ‘do you believe in fate?’ I did walk in, and I was like, ‘I’m a great believer in things that are meant to be’.
“You can’t get to my stage in my career and think it’s just down to hard word. There’s definitely many things where I was in the right place at the right time, things like that.”
Ed’s new LP – which also features the likes of Stormzy (‘Take Me Back To London’), Travis Scott (‘Antisocial’), and Bruno Mars and Chris Stapleton (‘Blow’) – was released on Friday (12.07.19), and the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker reflected on his 2011 EP ‘No. 5 Collaborations Project’, and how it compares to his latest collection.
He explained: “When I made [‘No. 5’], it wasn’t like ‘I’m gonna get signed by making this’. I made this because it was so much fun to make.
“It was all the artists I wanted to work with, and I made these songs I was just so proud to play to my friends. And it’s pretty much the same with this one.
“If I was like, ‘Oh, it’s gonna help to do this’ – the fact is, I’ve already achieved more than I thought I could. So now I’m at a point where I’m just having fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Keane singer Tom Chaplin believes ‘The Way I Feel’ has a “good energy” and a sound that is similar to The Killers.
The group – also comprised of Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes and Jesse Quin – disbanded in 2013, a year after releasing their fourth studio LP ‘Strangeland’.
At the beginning of 2019, the group decided to reunite and frontman Tom has revealed that their single, which is from their much-anticipated comeback album ‘Cause and Effect’ set to be released in September, has a sound that could be compared to the ‘When You Were Young’ hitmakers because the group simply wanted to make a record that their fans wouldn’t “expect” from them.
Tom said: “I remember saying when I first heard the first demo that it was quite Killers-y. That’s a good energy to have, right?”
In an interview with NME, Richard added: “From a song point of view I would imagine not because Tim is quite instinctive when he writes. From a production point of view, we just went into the studio wanting to be pushed by our producer, David Kosten, and to not sound like you would expect the next Keane record to sound, or to not sit back and do the things we would have done before.
“So we’re huge Killers fans, and as Tom says, they have such a good energy in their music so it’s a good reference.”
Keane had 30 songs to choose from when it came to deciding what would make the cut for their fifth studio album, and Richard admitted it is a “cohesive” project about bandmate Tim’s divorce from his ex-wife Jayne Rice-Oxley and Tom’s well-documented struggles with addiction.
Richard added: “It’s not a story in chronological order, like a full-on concept album, but it is cohesive.
“And when we were talking about the tracklisting, when we were even talking about which songs to record out of the 30 or so that we had, Tom especially was absolutely categorical about certain songs that had to be on there because of the part they represented in what the record is about, it’s about a very complicated, horrible, dark situation that Tim’s life has ended up facing. So yeah, it absolutely is an album.”
The band are now putting the finishing touches to their first album in six years, and after frontman Tom admitted he would need to repair his relationship with bandmate Tim, it was recently revealed that they put their differences aside to hit the studio to make new music because they work better “together” rather than solo.
Tom continued: “Both Tim and I would accept that we are better together than apart. I’m very proud of my solo stuff but I know I’m never gonna be as good a songwriter as Tim – that’s just a fact. He’s an incredible songwriter and has written quite a few classic songs, so I’m in no doubt about that. I mean, I enjoyed writing songs, and I still do, it’s a great outlet for my creativity, but I think, yes, the combination of the two of us together, we’ve been able to do something we could never have achieved going down separate lines.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is a Stormzy super-fan and she even messaged him on Twitter at the start of his career to tell him how much she loves his music.
The 51-year-old TV presenter professed her love of the grime artist when she appeared as a guest on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2 and revealed that she reached out to him on social media to tell him how great she thought he was.
The ‘Long Lost Family’ host said: “I love him so much. When he was just starting I sent him a message, and he didn’t have that many followers, and he messaged me back. We’re friends.”
After Zoe, 48, played Stormzy’s current single ‘Crown’, Davina reminisced about how much she loved his headline set on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
She said: “‘Blinded By Your Grace’ does still makes me teary. When he did that at Glastonbury, it was spiritual, right? What a set.”
While that track was playing, Davina showed Zoe some of her DMs to other musicians prompting the DJ to tell her listeners that her pal has some cool contacts.
Zoe spilled: “I’m just reading through Davina’s messages, which are fantastic. You sent a message to NSG as well. You’re inspiring all the youngsters.”
East London rap collective NSG, who recently performed at Wireless Festival, have been quickly growing a large fan base and Davina spilled why she chose to direct message them early on in their career too.
She said: “My son researches acts that he likes and he finds out if they’ve got many followers. If they’ve got under 100,000 followers, chances are they might still be reading their direct messages. If you send a new act that you love a direct message, they might message you back. He told me to message NSG because I love their song ‘OT Bop’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bastille have penned a song with Lewis Capaldi.
Dan Smith and co brought the Scottish star out on stage as a special guest for a rendition of their hit song ‘Joy’ at Glastonbury last month and he also opened for the band across the UK and Europe earlier this year.
Dan – who has also written for Craig David, Foxes, and Tears For Fears – has revealed they managed to get the ‘Grace’ singer in their makeshift studio on the road.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, he said: “We wrote together on tour. It was really nice.
“I’ve been doing quite a lot of writing with other people.
“We’d always have a studio set up backstage so we wrote a song together, which is awesome.
“He sang it and it sounds incredible.
“His voice is way more impressive and powerful than mine. I love the song, I think it’s wicked.”
The ‘Happier’ hitmaker also revealed that he turned down the chance to work with Ed Sheeran because was “a bit too shy” at the time.
He said: “Years ago he invited me to his house to write for a week and I think I was a bit too shy to say yes.
“I’m kicking myself now. Ed’s lovely, he’s one of the most genuine people in the music industry.”
Dan recently admitted he feels like an “imposter”.
The ‘Pompeii’ singer insisted he isn’t worried about the group’s experiments with different genres on their latest ‘Doom Days’ because he’s “comfortable” with where they are musically, even though he still feels like he leads a “double life”.
He said: “We wanted to take the listener through different moods and moments and I think we are finally really comfortable with where we are at.
“Don’t get me wrong, I still feel like an imposter and I still think we lead this double life where we go off on tour, play these shows and then go home and everything is back to normal.
“But we’ve never really cared about genre. It is irrelevant to us and so on our albums or our mix tapes we’ve done everything from pop to hip-hop to guitar music. We do whatever we want to.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish says Avril Lavigne was her idol growing up.
The 17-year-old singer has heaped praise on the ‘Complicated’ hitmaker – who has become a friend – and credited her with inspiring her to be unique through her music, along with the likes of Lana Del Rey, Childish Gambino and Tyler, the Creator.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, she said: “Avril was everything to me, I love Avril. I only love her. There’s nothing else there, just love.
“There is almost no other artist like that. Her, Tyler, Gambino, [Justin] Bieber made me and Lana, probably.
“They made e. I would not be me. [Avril] has my number though and she texts me sometimes, it’s so cool. She’ll be like: ‘Hey babe it’s Avril’. Oh my God.”
Meanwhile, the teenage pop superstar has already earned herself some famous fans with the likes of Thom Yorke and Sam Smith amongst those who enjoyed her chart topping debut album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’
And most recently, Sir Elton John has spoken out to shower her with compliments as he said “talent like hers doesn’t come along very often”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert’s new album ‘Velvet’ is “partially” inspired by him being “frustrated’ with chart music.
The 37-year-old pop star has admitted that he became fed up with the songs in the top 40 all sounding the same and so he started listening to alternative bands such as Tame Impala and The Black Keys and late music legend Prince.
Speaking about the album’s lead single ‘New Eyes’ and the rest of the record’s influences on the ‘Official Charts: Take The Hit’ podcast, Adam said: “There’s a little bit of Prince and there’s a blues thing going on.
“This song and the rest of the album is influenced partially by that, and partially by me seeing and playing the Top 40 game over the last 10 years and getting a little bit frustrated how everything starts to sound the same. So much of the industry tends to follow and copy.
“I started listening to a lot more alternative music. “They might not be huge giant hits, but it’s still widely regarded as great music and great bands.”
He added: “It’s not necessarily about one song but about them as a group or artist and the big picture and their influence as an artist.
“Bands like Tame Impala or The Black Keys … they’ve had their moments with songs but they’re known for creating a [certain] style of music that’s in their own lane, and they’ve influenced a lot of other artists, including me.”
‘Velvet’ is a two part release and so far Adam has released three singles, also including ‘Comin In Hot’ and ‘Feel Something’.
The first part of ‘Velvet’, ‘Side A’, is due out in September.
It’s the first studio effort from the ‘American Idol’ alumni – who will embark on an extensive North American stadium tour with Queen in 2020 – since 2015’s ‘The Original High’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has announced a special orchestra show in Liverpool.
The ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ hitmaker will play the ‘Radio 1 Presents: The Lewis Capaldi Symphony’ concert at the northern city’s Croxteth Park for a one-off BBC Radio 1 performance on August 5.
Announcing the news on Twitter, Lewis wrote: PLAYING THE ALBUM LIVE WITH AN ORCHESTRA FOR @BBCR!!! honestly so buzzing for this!! show is in liverpool in august!!! tickets have just gone on-sale & are available right here http://bit.ly/lewiscapaldilive …

Meanwhile, Bastille’s Dan Smith has just revealed they wrote a song with the Scottish star when he supported them earlier this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Marilyn Manson hung out with Machine Gun Kelly after he told him he was a fan of his performance in the Motley Crue biopic ‘The Dirt’.
The ‘Tainted Love’ singer has revealed he sent the ‘Rap Devil’ rapper a message on Instagram after he was impressed by his portrayal of drummer Tommy Lee in the Netflix movie and the pair recently hung out and watched films together.
The shock rocker thinks Machine Gun – whose real name is Colson Baker – is “the real deal” and also revealed he’s a big fan of another rapper, Lil Uzi Vert.
Asked who he thinks “embodies rock ‘n’ roll” these days, he told Revolver magazine: “Well, you’ve got people like this guy I just met a couple weeks ago, Machine Gun Kelly — he’s the real deal.
“And he’s also a cool guy, and he was great in ‘The Dirt’, where he played Tommy Lee. And there’s the other rappers that I’m friends with, guys like Lil Uzi Vert and Bill $aber, who you should check out. I used his track “Creepin n Lurkin” as my intro music to walk out [to] on the last tour. I asked Lil Uzi Vert why he liked me. He has all these followers [on Instagram], but I was the only one he was following. And he said it was because he knew I was the real deal.”
And asked how they became friends, Manson said: “I sent him a message on Instagram, and told him that I liked his performance in ‘The Dirt’.
“He said thanks, and asked me if I wanted to hang out, something like that. It was sort of me being a fan of his. And he came over, we watched some movies and got along, so it was cool.”
Manson also revealed his new “Southern” album – which he’s been working on with outlaw country rock star Shooter Jennings – is “full of drama” and is like a “wax museum of [his] thoughts”.
Quizzed on whether the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Heaven Upside Down’ has a name yet, he said: “It’s still to be determined, but I think it’s the album that should be called Marilyn Manson. I’m in a mode in life where I wanted to tell stories with this record, and it’s sort of like a wax museum of my thoughts, a study of the chamber of horrors in my head.
“All the romance and hope you can have in the world, here in the End Times where it can be a different kind of apocalypse for each person listening to the record. I tried to paint it with words, and Shooter with sounds, so you can see and hear all of your longing, your passion and despair. That’s sort of a dramatic explanation of it. [Laughs] But it is full of drama. I wouldn’t compare it to any of my other records, but you hear a bit of everything — it’s like I’ve focused everything into one spot, finally.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Green Day are reportedly releasing new music next week.
Kerrang! Breakfast radio host Sophie K made the announcement on the show and simply shared the date and time of “July 19th, 5pm”.
Thew music will mark the first from the punk rock band since 2016’s Revolution Radio.
Although frontman Billie Joe Armstrong recently made an appearance on Morrissey’s cover of The Fifth Dimension’s ‘Wedding Bell Blues’.
Billie subtly announced he’s penning new tracks for his band in a response to a fan’s comment on Instagram in December.
He wrote: “I’m writing new songs for gd now.”
The ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ hitmaker took a break from the band to work on his side project The Longshot, who released their debut studio album ‘Love is for Losers’ last April.
The 47-year-old rocker has a long history of forming side projects, he’s also a member of Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network.
In 2017, the band brought to an end their 21-year relationship with long-time manager Pat Magnarella.
The ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’ rockers first started working with him in 1996 after the release of their now-iconic album ‘Dookie’, and he was at the helm to oversee the band’s career as they went from strength to strength with hit singles like ‘American Idiot’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Warning’ and ‘Revolution Radio’.
The trio – completed by Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool – are now signed with Jonathan Daniel at Crush Music, who looks after huge artists such as Lorde, Fall Out Boy and Sia.
Mangarella also worked with Green Day as a producer on many of their side projects, including the official cast album for the ‘American Idiot’ musical.
The management boss – who has worked with the likes of Goo Goo Dolls, All-American Rejects and AFI – also ran Billie’s own independent record label Adeline Records.
Daniel established Crush in 2003 and in the last 14 years the roster has expanded to include the likes of Courtney Love, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Panic! at the Disco and many more.

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has dropped a new single ahead of the release of her ‘Lion King’-curated album.
The 37-year-old singer has released track ‘Spirit’ – which features on the movie remake, in which she voices Nala – ahead of ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ dropping on July 19th.
Speaking about the album, which she has also produced, Beyonce said in a statement: “This is sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling.
“I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film.
“It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound.
“It is influenced by everything from R&B, hip-hop and Afro Beat.
“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline.
“Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation.
“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”
Beyonce teased the song by sharing a picture of herself opposite her lioness character on Instagram, much to the delight of Winnie Harlow.
The model commented: “She is queen, hear her roar (sic)”
Disney also shared a picture of Beyonce and Nala, and confirmed the new album on their Instagram account.
In a message about the record on Tuesday night (09.07.19), they wrote: “”The Lion King: The Gift,” a new album of songs featuring global recording artists and steeped in the sounds of Africa, produced and curated by @Beyonce Knowles-Carter, will be released July 19. “Spirit,” the single from the album and from the soundtrack for The Lion King, will be available later tonight. (sic)”
Beyonce also has a song on Disney’s original soundtrack to the live-action remake of the movie.
The soundtrack will drop on July 11th and feature a version of Sir Elton John’s ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ by the ‘Halo’ hitmaker and Donald Glover, who voices Nala’s love interest Simba in the film, which will drop on July 19th.

OHMYGOSSIP — David Lee Roth says he and his Van Halen bandmates have “always hated” one another.
The ‘Jump’ rockers – currently completed by brothers Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen, the former’s son – have had a well-documented tumultuous past and the original frontman has now gone as far to say that they despised each other from the very beginning of their career in the early 70s.
Appearing on the ‘WTF With Marc Maron’ podcast, he admitted: “We have always hated each other, right up until the last phone call.”
David says their hate towards one another is largely down to “creative differences” and being in “rival” groups before coming together.
He said: “There were always creative differences. We’ve never gotten along. We started in rival bands.
“Bitter rivals. But we were thrown together and it was amazing.”
However, he insisted that it’s the “f**ked up parts” about his bandmates that made their friendship.
He added: “Think of your favourite jeans, they’re ruined and full of holes. What you love most about them is the f**ked up parts.”
When asked if he still meets up with the Van Halen brothers, he replied: “Not even close.”
David quit the heavy rock group in 1985, despite them being one of the most successful bands of the time, and Sammy Hagar was hired by the band in a bid to reinvent their career.
But he also ended up quitting over the direction of the ‘Hot for Teacher’ group in 1996, leaving their future on the line.
By the September of that year, fans were shocked when David reunited on stage with his bandmates at the MTV Video Music Awards.
However, the appearance to present Best Male Video to Beck, which was dubbed one of the most outrageous moments of all time, ended up reigniting their feud and only lasted five minutes.
New York’s Radio City Hall defended into chaos as Eddie physically removed David from the podium and he left the band once again.
Reflecting on what happened that night, David said at the time: “I told Edward [Van Halen] at the time that I didn’t think it was a good idea for the band to go to [the VMAs] half-cocked; and that I didn’t want to imply by our presence there that we were ‘back’ if it was just a quickie for old time’s sake.
“It sickens me that the ‘reunion’ as seen on MTV was nothing more than a publicity stunt.
“If I am guilty of anything, I’m guilty of denial. I was an unwitting participant in this deception.”
The band went through several line-up changes, with David and Sammy even reuniting with the band at different times.
In 2015, the band completed a 39-date tour of North America.
Their last album featuring David is 2012’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender still lives with his mum and dad.
The ‘Play God’ rocker – who won the BRITS Critics’ Choice Award in February – has admitted he is still crashing at his parents house in North Shields and has his meals cooked by his mum and admitted he would be given a “slap” if he ever let fame go to his head.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s impossible to let fame go to your head when you still live in North Shields in a flat with your mum.
“If I was to go off the rails or get ahead of myself I would get a slap.
“My family are proper Geordies, they’d lynch me. I pay my rent.”
On his lack of culinary skills, he added: “I’m a horrendous cook, my mum does my meals.
“I can only cook beans on toast with cheese.”
The 23-year-old star previously admitted his working class upbringing is the inspiration for most of his music.
The ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ singer wants to represent the life that many people in the UK are living and he isn’t afraid to tackle tough subjects like drug use and men’s mental health.
He said: “Spice was rife in my home town when I was a kid and it’s an awful drug. The song [‘Spice’] is about a boy who completely destroyed his life by smoking it. ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ is Newcastle on a Saturday night. Nobody wears coats – it’s all muscles and V-necks and fake tan. And ‘Dead Boys’ is about a friend who committed suicide. The Cure wrote ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and it’s the same today; as a boy you’re not meant to show your emotions, but if you don’t have a job or any prospects, you’re going to be depressed and it will be much worse if you can’t express that. I hate the term because it’s become a buzzword, but it’s toxic masculinity.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue has announced an intimate concert in London.
The ‘Dancing’ hitmaker – who last month wowed fans with her epic Glastonbury Sunday afternoon’s Legend slot – will play at a secret location for a select few fans for Magic Radio on July 26.
Kylie told radio hosts Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott on Wednesday morning’s (10.07.19) ‘Magic Breakfast’ show: “A secret gig, how exciting! Do any of us know where we’re going? The one thing I do know is it’s very exclusive.
“I love intimate shows because you can really chat and interact with the audience, it’s going to be super fun.”
Ronan added: “Kylie is a complete superstar, and we’re so thrilled to be able to offer our listeners the chance to see her live up close.”
Whilst Harriet quipped that the Boyzone star is going to rock Kylie’s signature golden hot pants for the gig.
She laughed: “Ronan’s even digging out his gold hot pants for the occasion!”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the Australian pop princess has teamed up with The Vaccines on an unlikely duet.
The ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker and the indie rockers have recorded the track ‘LAZY’ for the soundtrack for Aardman Animations’ upcoming movie, ‘A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’.
Announcing the collaboration on Instagram, The Vaccines wrote: “hey hey hey – vVv excited to tell u all that we have recorded a new song called LAZY with the incredible and inimitable @kylieminogue for @aardmananimations new film A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. the film lands this october and u can watch the brand-new trailer by clicking the link in bio…! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Kelly’s upcoming album is her “most vulnerable album to date”.
The 26-year-old singer is set to release her record, ‘Inspired by True Events’, next month, and has said the album includes some “really personal songs” that explore her life over the last couple of years.
She said: “It’s definitely my most vulnerable album to date. It’s called Inspired by True Events, and I’m just kind of opening up about the last couple years [and] some of the things that have gone down in my personal life. It’s just really, really personal songs. I poured my whole heart into it and I’m excited for people to hear.”
Tori endured the passing of her grandfather and the break-up of her parents recently, and says the record “goes pretty deep” as she drew on the painful events for inspiration.
But the ‘Change Your Mind’ singer also got the chance to reflect on her marriage to Andre Murillo, whom she married in 2018.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ at the 2019 ESPY Awards on Wednesday (10.07.19), she said: “[It] goes pretty deep. A lot of it is centred around family. My grandpa passed away recently. My parents actually split up recently. A happier note, I got married recently. So there’s these kind of emotions that were swirling around in my head and in my heart, and I didn’t know what else to do with that other than to put that into my music, so that’s kind of how this album came to be.”
‘Inspired by True Events’ is set to be released on August 9.
