OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica are to release a children’s book.
The heavy metal band – made up of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo – are to drop ‘The ABCs of Metallica’ on November 26th, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the ‘One’ hitmaker’s foundation All Within My Hands.
In a post on their official website, Metallica said: “We have a new book coming out and this time it rhymes!
“We’re having a bit of fun as The ABCs of Metallica hits the shelves and online book stores on November 26, 2019, all for a great cause with a portion of the proceeds benefiting All Within My Hands as we continue to support workforce education and the fight against hunger.
“Including rhymes and illustrations, The ABCs of Metallica looks back at the history of the band from, duh, A to Z!
“Each letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from Garage Days to Master of Puppets to fun facts about us.
“The book is co-authored by Howie Abrams (The Merciless Book of Metal Lists, Hip-Hop Alphabet), with illustrations by Michael “Kaves” McLeer, who participated in Metallica’s Obey Your Master exhibit in 2012.”
The book news comes after they launched their own brand of whiskey, called Blackened, last year.
The alcohol is named after their 1988 hit song from their ‘…And Justice for All’ album.
Metallica said in a statement at the time: “The ultimate goal is to make a whiskey that fits into the Metallica experience and sets itself apart from all the others.
“We want to show the world, and in this case especially the whiskey connoisseurs, how seriously we take this endeavour.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says he was “one of the best things at Glastonbury” thanks to Lewis Capaldi.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter jokingly trolled the former Oasis star as he took to The Other Stage at the festival last month in a green parka and matching bucket hat, the Britpop group’s trademark outfits in the 90s, as a clip of Noel saying “Who’s this Capaldi fella?” played on repeat on the screens around the stage.
Taking off the parka, Lewis then revealed he was wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with Noel’s face, surrounded by a heart and the whole stunt was in response to the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker’s dismissal of Lewis and his songs in a radio interview that happened before the Worthy Farm gig.
Noel, 52, didn’t play the festival – although his rival sibling and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher performed on the Pyramid Stage – and he says he heard from his wife Sara MacDonald who attended that the crowd was going wild for him and screaming his name.
On being the star of the weekend without being present, he said: “Well, I know. But it’s a curse. What can I do? I’m having the f***ing weekend off, and I’m still one of the best things at Glastonbury. My wife was there and she said, “All you could hear was people chanting your name. It was unbelievable.”
He quipped: “I was in f***ing Holland, high as a f***ing monkey.”
The beef with the ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ singer started after Noel said in an interview with Radio X: “Music is f**king w**k at the moment. Who’s this Capaldi fella? Who the f**k’s that idiot?”
Taking to his Instagram Stories to respond, Lewis posted a video in which he joked that becoming the latest in a long line of musicians to be “slagged off” by Noel was better than having a number one album or number one single.
He said: “F***ing c’mon! F***ing peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher! Number 1 single – who gives a f**k? Number 1 album – who gives a f**k? Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true. It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy.”
After wishing Noel a happy Father’s Day, he filmed himself listening to Oasis’ 2002 single ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’.
And rather than let the war of words die, Noel responded to his jibes by posting a video of his 11-year-old son Donovan pretending to cry whilst singing ‘Someone You Loved’ on his Twitter account.
He captioned the clip: “You might wanna try and find some joy in your tunes. You’re destroying the youth.”
Noel went on to slam singer/songwriters and said some of them don’t even write their own songs.
He said in an interview with Variety: “It just seems to me that every singer/songwriter gets to be s****er than the next person.
“It’s a race to the bottom. And you dig deep enough with these c***s, they’re not even singer-songwriters, because they don’t f***ing write their own songs.”
He also said people should “stop obsessing” with him after the reaction at Glastonbury.
Noel added: “People are obsessed with me. They should stop obsessing about me, because really, I’m not even that good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has written half of Westlife’s new album.
Mark Feehily of the band – also comprised of Shane Filan, Kian Egan an Nicky Byrne – has revealed as well as the lead single ‘Hello My Love’, the 28-year-old pop star also worked with producer Steve Mac on five of the other tracks on ‘Spectrum’.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, Mark revealed: “He’s done six songs for the album.
“So effectively half the album.
“One day Ed went in the studio and said ‘I just want to write Westlife songs’. It’s been a truly organic coupling.”
The ‘What About Now’ hitmakers’ first new studio record since 2010’s ‘Gravity’ will drop on September 6, and they think the LP’s title perfectly sums up their newfound energy.
The group recently said: “The title ‘Spectrum’ came from us talking about how we feel younger, happier and more energetic than we ever have in our career.
“‘Spectrum’ is a title that represents the various different shades and colours of our personalities, vocals and general perspectives that all blend together in a unique way to create Westlife.
“It’s also a word that represents the various shades and colours in the band, meaning it’s the perfect metaphor for our different points of view and perspectives but together, they somehow join to work perfectly.”
The band have teamed up with James Bay for a collaboration on the album.
And they feel the LP displays “the very best version of Westlife possible”.
They added: “We’re all driven by trying to create the best album of our careers. Our fans deserve the very best version of Westlife possible and with this album we feel that we’ve achieved that.
“The album has everything that we love in music, heartfelt emotional songs and also great uptempo’s that are designed for our stadium performances.
“We couldn’t be happier with how the last few months in the studio have gone and we cannot wait for our fans to hear the end results.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher banned his brother Liam Gallagher from using Oasis music in his film ‘As It Was’ because of his Twitter jibes at him and his family.
The ‘Shockwave’ singer previously claimed Noel was trying to “sue him” over the use of clips of their former band’s songs within the movie and recently hit out at his ex-bandmate and his “little people” for the ban.
Noel, 52, has now slammed Liam, 46, as “f***ing dumb” for thinking he’d let him use any their songs and referred to his younger sibling as a “misogynist sexist prick” and called him out for “trolling” his kids – Anais, 19, Sonny, eight, and Donovan, 11 – and his wife Sara MacDonald on the social media app.
Asked in an interview with Variety if it was true that he imposed the music ban, he said: “Oh, I turned it down, yeah. If some f***ing moron is going to make a film slagging me off, calling my wife a ****, after trolling my kids on the Internet, after being a filthy little misogynist sexist prick who cannot keep his f***ing mouth off Twitter, and then call me to ask me a favour, I’m like, ‘Wow. You are as dumb as you f***ing look.’
“I don’t give a f*** what music you have in your film; you’re not putting any of mine in.
“It’s like, ‘Can I ask you a favour?’
“‘No, you can’t. Go f*** yourself.’
“You’re not using my songs to sell his f***ing film.”
When asked if he plans to watch ‘As It Was’, the ‘Black Star Dancing’ hitmaker admitted that just seeing his sibling’s face makes him want to “take out a McDonald’s with a machine gun”.
The ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter insisted he has “better things to do” than watch the documentary, which shows Liam with his formerly estranged daughter Molly Moorish, 22 – who he met for the first time last year – and taking his sons Gene, 18, and Lennon, 19, on the road with him.
He also accused him of attempting to “rewrite history” and mocked the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker for his “jogging” which is shown in the film.
Asked if he plans to go to the cinema to see it, he sad: “Uh, no. I couldn’t think of a reason that would make me want to watch it, considering that every time I see that ****’s face, I want to f***ing take out a McDonald’s with a machine gun.
“So I don’t think I’ll be going to the local cinema to watch him rewrite f***ing history (about) what a great guy he is; what a wonderful family man.
“I’ve got better things to do with my time.
“You should go and see it, though. Apparently there’s a lot of jogging in it. I don’t know about you, but I like to see my favorite rock stars jogging. Don’t you?”
Liam wanted to “break” Noel’s “f****** jaw” after he refused to let him use their songs.
The outspoken rocker – who has been at loggerheads with Noel for years after a backstage bust-up between the brothers at their concert in Paris in 2009, which led to the demise of the Britpop group – insisted he was not “sad” and didn’t “cry” over it, but he was left fuming and felt like smashing the ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter and his manager’s windows in when he found out.
He fumed: “Him and his little people saw it and took the Oasis music out of it because that’s all he’s got left, d’ya know what I mean. Let him get on with it.
“It doesn’t make me sad, it makes me f****** mad. I’m not a p****, I’m not sad about it, I want to break his f****** jaw and his daft f****** manager, but that’s what happens. I’m not sad about it, I didn’t go home and cry, I just wanted to go and f****** put their windows through.”
The documentary – helmed by Charlie Lightening – shows a softer side to the rock star who is alway spouting off on Twitter, and Liam admitted that an endless supply of drugs and fame wasn’t why he joined a band in the first place.
In February, Liam claimed Noel was threatening to take legal action over use of their songs.
He later claimed it was footage of Liam’s performance at the One Love Manchester benefit concert – which was held following the Manchester terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert in 2017 – that Noel had an issue with.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rudimental’s DJ Locksmith is launching a football mentorship programme for kids.
The ‘These Days’ hitmaker – whose real name is Leon Rolle – has revealed he is set to spend six months working with young children who don’t get signed up by teams.
The 32-year-old drum and bass star – who previously worked as a tutor – played at a semi-professional level and previously trained with Bristol City F.C. and he knows just how disheartening it can be to be rejected from a sport you love and dream of playing.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, he said: “It’s crazy statistics – kids at youth level have something like a 0.01 per cent chance of actually making it.
“When I was told, ‘we will not be going any further with you Leon’, I had to pick myself up mentally in a big way as that was my passion.
“There are so many kids out there going through the same situation and the have no support.
“So over the next six months, I’ll be getting involved, working with children in those situations.
“Before Rudimental I was a learning mentor and worked with kids’ behavioural issues.”
Meanwhile, Rudimental – completed by Kesi Dryden, Amir Amor and Piers Agget – have been working on a club project with The Martinez Brothers.
He said: “We’ve teamed up with The Martinez Brothers and we’ve done a couple of tracks with them.
“It will be four or five tracks later this summer.”
When Locksmith – who played for Soccer Aid for Unicef last month – isn’t in the studio or mentoring kids, he is busy acting.
He previously revealed: “I’m currently doing a couple of movies this year and want to integrate some music and soundtracks into that.
“It’s me acting personally and then the band will do the music so watch this space.”
However, fans of the four-piece shouldn’t worry about the movie projects taking over from their music, as Locksmith admitted his acting isn’t “as good” as the work he does with the ‘Not Giving In’ hitmakers.
He confessed: “My acting is not as good as what I do with Rudimental.
“I don’t do the stuff outside of the band as well as I do Rudimental.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora performed at Amazon’s Prime Day Party on Wednesday night (10.07.19) and told the crowd that she was loving being back in London after jetting off “all over the place” for her tour.
Fresh from her first ever headline arena tour, the 28-year-old singer took to the stage at the special event held at the Village Underground in Shoreditch and she admitted on stage that she really misses performing in the city as it’s “the best” and she fears she “takes it for granted”.
Rita – who grew up in the UK capital – said: “I really miss performing in London. It’s so mad because I’ve been doing like festivals all over the place and you really do take this city for granted once you miss it. And I just love being here so much because London’s the best, also I get to sleep in my own bed, so yeah!”
Rita, 28, performed hit tracks from her acclaimed second album Phoenix’ and also her latest single ‘Ritual’, which she recorded with her “crew” Tiesto and Jonas Blue and she hailed the track as an upbeat “summer jam” which makes her feel “really euphoric”.
She said: “This next song is a brand new one, I did it with my crew, Tiesto and Jonas Blue, and this song for me is it makes me feel really euphoric. It just makes you feel really good it’s a summer jam it just makes you wanna dance it’s a dance number so have a good time with this one.”
Rita was joined at Amazon’s Prime Day Party by Ray BLK who wowed the crowd with tracks such as ‘Run Run’ and ‘My Hood’.
There were a number of famous faces in the audience, including Laura Whitmore, Dani Dyer, Talia Storm, Roxy Horner and more.
The intimate gig took place for 500 fans ahead of Amazon’s longest ever Prime Day sale (Amazon.co.uk/PrimeDay) which takes place on July 15 and July 16.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has asked his fans to keep buying his album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ again so he can make enough money to move out of his parents’ house.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter headlined the second day of the Kew the Music festival at Kew Gardens in London on Wednesday night (10.07.19) and made his plea to the crowd to send his debut LP back to the top of the UK charts so he can finally get enough cash to get a place of his own as it will help him in his quest to “get a girlfriend”.
He said with a smile: “So I brought out my debut album a few weeks ago, I’ve been very surprised by the response to it, ’cause it went to number one. It’s been at number one for five weeks, but not consecutive weeks. And it, maybe, could go to number one this week as well. So I know you’ve paid money to come here, I know the tickets were expensive, f**k me I saw the prices, but if you could stop being so selfish and put your hand in your pocket and buy my album again. I’m 22 and I live my mother it’s undignified. I cannot get a girlfriend because she is smothering me, but I love her dearly.”
Lewis played to a sell-out crowd at the event and performed most of the songs from his hit record with highlights including ‘Grace’, ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ and he also treated fans to a “song not on the album at all” titled ‘Rush’, joking “if you’ve only got into me recently you’re not going to enjoy this”.
Lewis was blown away by the support of his fans – who chanted “oh Lewis Capaldi” throughout his incredible set – especially as he was a late replacement at the festival for Jess Glynn, who had to cancel all of her live commitments due to a vocal cord haemorrhage.
Admitting the show was one of the “best gigs” he’d ever done as he prepared to play his final songs, he said: “I just want to say thank you so f***ing much for coming out and making this so special, this is amazing, this is one of the best gigs we’ve ever f***ing played. It’s by a f***ing mile the best London we’ve ever f***ing done so thank you very much, honestly I did not expect this response. I heard people were picnicking earlier on and I thought it was going to be a chilled one but this has been lovely, you’ve been tremendous, thank you very much.
“This is genuinely a dream come true to get to play to this many f***ing people. I’m trying to be sincere here, I don’t know how to do it, but I’m trying to be sincere. Literally, like, two years ago I was playing in The Waiting Room [in Scotland] to like 200 people so this is f***ing mad, so thank you very much again … I say this at the end of everyone of my gigs and I’ll say it to you too my name is Lewis Capaldi, if you’ve enjoyed this gig please tell everyone you’ve ever met about it. If you haven’t enjoyed it then keep it to yourselves you f***ing busy bastards!”
Lewis closed his set with his number one single ‘Someone You Loved’ and he led the crowd in an a capella singalong of the chorus before leaving the stage.
The Scottish musician had some famous fans in attendance with BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills – who Lewis thanked for his support – and ‘This Morning’ host Holly Willoughby, who was watching from the side of the stage.
Sharing a photo of her privileged view from the side of the stage on her Instagram account, Holly, 38, posted: “All the family tonight watching the brilliant @lewiscapaldi … just wonderful, all singing along together … Belle with her lollipop and… Harry described it as the best night of his life… #kewthemusic. (sic)”
Holly has daughter Belle, eight, and sons Harry, 10, and Chester, four, with her husband Dan Baldwin.
Kew the Music continues with shows from Jools Holland, Craig David, Garbage and Rick Astley still to come.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi almost ditched ‘Someone You Loved’ because he didn’t think it was strong enough.
The 22-year-old singer topped the charts for seven weeks – and spent another 14 in the UK top 10 – but he admitted he had some serious doubts over the quality of his hit single.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “With ‘Someone You Loved’ I wrote the melodies for it and then I was like, ‘oh f**k, this is not good enough’, and then I completely stopped working on it.
“And I kept revisiting it over the months and still thinking,’this isn’t good enough still’, and I was almost trashing the song every single time.”
The tune became Lewis’ breakthrough track when he released it in November last year after entering the top 10 with ‘Grace’, which was also featured on debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.
The singer’s sad ballads often deal with love and loss, and it means he feels a responsibility to make his live shows as fun as possible.
He explained: “I like to keep it as light as possible in between songs, you’re not going to hear me say, ‘this is a song about a lady that broke my heart’, because I can just imagine watching that and being like,’this is so f***ing boring get on with the music’.
“I try and keep it as jovial and light as possible, if you’re a fan of chubby Scottish guys come along.”
Last month, Lewis played on The Other stage at Glastonbury and arrived in a green parka and matching bucket hat as he took a playful dig at Noel Gallagher.
Taking off the coat, he then revealed he was wearing a t-shirt with Noel’s face on, surrounded by a heart.
The beef started after Noel called him an “idiot” and mocked the popularity of his debut LP, but Lewis has admitted his response was all for banter.
He said: “It was all a good laugh, then I realised: ‘I’ve got a gig to play here’ … I wasn’t prepared for that many people. The first half-minute was a bit nervy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand brought her cloned dogs out in a pram at British Summer Time Hyde Park on Sunday (07.07.19).
The 77-year-old music legend had her pets Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet, who she had cloned from her beloved pooch Samantha, a fluffy white Coton de Tulear breed, before she died in 2017, walked out on stage in a mini custom made carriage to have a quick petting from the ‘Woman in Love’ hitmaker, who joked that she wasn’t sure if they were into “show business”.
Before performing a surprise duet of ‘The Way We Were’ with Lionel Richie, which they recorded for her 2014 duets LP ‘Partners’, and had never performed live together before, the ‘Hello’ singer asked where the ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ hitmaker’s dogs were as he said he felt like he was in the ‘Meet the Fockers’ star’s front room.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, it was rumoured Barbra had some of her grass from home brought over to the UK with her for their comfort.
The music icon – who performed hit-after-hit and was also joined on stage by Kris Kristofferson to perform their ‘A Star Is Born’ duet ‘The Love Inside’ live for the first time ever, over four decades after the films release in 1976 – reportedly had a three-hour rehearsal before taking to the Great Oak Stage with her orchestra at the Barclaycard-sponsored event.
An insider told the tabloid: “She wanted to sound perfect. She was heard asking for ‘more cello’ as she made sure the orchestra was on point.”
Barbra’s husband James Brolin recently admitted his wife’s decision to clone their dog will become as normal as going to a convenience store in the future.
The 78-year-old actor and his singer spouse had Samantha recreated by a lab in South Korea from cells taken from her mouth and stomach before she passed away at the age of 14.
‘Life In Pieces’ actor James admitted the process was “a little expensive” and considered to be a little odd but eventually it will become as normal as “driving into a 7-Eleven” store.
He said: “I think it’s a little expensive right now but I think it’s gonna be real common you know like 7-Eleven? It’s gonna be like driving into 7-Eleven.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Skunk Anansie’s Skin was almost eaten alive by a pack of baby hyenas.
The 51-year-old frontwoman has recalled her terrifying encounter on a vacation in Namibia in Southwestern Africa, when she became “surrounded” by the ferocious carnivores and how she got a lucky escape after one tugged at her ankle before she was saved by the staff at the beach she was on.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: “In Namibia, I was attacked by baby hyenas at a refuge for wild animals.
“I was near a watering hole and a baby came up to me. Before long, I was surrounded by eight of them.
“One got hold of my ankle and I fell over. They obviously thought I looked tasty.
“Staff screamed and thrashed them out of the way.”
The ‘Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good)’ singer also revealed that she once almost ended up joining an orgy in Ibiza.
She recalled: “There was a full-on orgy happening.
“A guy tapped me on the shoulder and I realised I was in the queue!”
Skin was recently in the headlines after she corrected Stormzy’s claim that he was the “first black British artist to headline Glastonbury”.
The grime superstar topped the bill on the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night last month, and while he tweeted before his performance that he was “overwhelmed with emotions”, Skin – whose real name is Deborah Dye – tweeted the ‘Vossi Bop’ hitmaker to point out her performance with the band in 1999.
The band wrote on Instagram: “Sorry Stormzy but we beat you to it in 1999! 20 years ago! And while we’re on topic, I was the first black Woman too! @beyonce.
“Wishing you an awesome nite tho, Kill it! You’re amazing and we’re all very proud… Real question is why it took 20 years! (sic)”
Stormzy later took to Twitter to apologise and set the record straight, as he heaped praise on the Britrock star.
He tweeted: “Skin from the band Skunk Anansie was actually the first black artist to headline glasto she done it with her band in 1999 no disrespect intended and MASSIVE salute to you – my apologies! (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue, Billie Eilish and The Cure’s Robert Smith are among stars who have donated their Glastonbury outfits to Oxfam.
The Worthy Farm extravaganza’s 2019 Sunday afternoon’s Legend slot star, the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker and ‘Friday I’m in Love’ singer, plus the likes of Sheryl Crow, Johnny Marr, Frank Turner, Lewis Capaldi, Gabrielle Aplin and Loyle Carner – who gave his slogan top with “f*** Boris” emblazoned on it, a nod to headliner Stormzy’s song ‘Vossi Bop’ – have given the charity various pieces to raise awareness for their throwaway fashion campaign.
Australian pop superstar Kylie donated her sun visor and Robert handed over his Disintegration Era shirt.
Fans will be able to purchase the items in an online auction.
Gabrielle, said: “I love the idea of my outfit being sold by Oxfam to help people who don’t have the basics in life. And I believe passionately in sustainability. Chucking perfectly good clothes in landfill really has to stop.”
The charity’s “Second-hand September” campaign, which calls on people not to buy new clothes during the month to help the planet, was launched at the festival last month.
Fee Gilfeather, Oxfam’s sustainable fashion expert, said by doing this “you can help protect the environment”.
He added that “If you buy second-hand in Oxfam you’ll be helping the poorest people around the world escape poverty”.
He said: “We are so grateful to the artists and to Glastonbury for supporting Oxfam’s campaign against throwaway fashion.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo has announced a November UK and European tour.
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker – who makes her Lovebox debut in London this weeknd – will kick off her run in Paris on November 4, before playing London’s O2 Academy Brixton on November 6, and wrapping the tour in Denmark on November 19.
Meanwhile, the flautist-and-twerker, who rocked Glastonbury last month, recently admitted the only celebrity she would feel “intimidated” by is Rihanna.
Lizzo had no idea that the ‘Work’ hitmaker was watching her performance at the 2019 BET Awards recently and joked that if she had known the Bajan beauty was there she would have imagined her being “naked” to calm her nerves.
She admitted: “She’s the only person that I be like, ‘I’m intimidated by you,’ you know what I’m saying?” And, to be honest, most people would probably feel the same. After all, Rihanna is a world famous musician, designer and make-up mogul.”
She quipped: “Like no one else in that audience, I imagine them all in their underwear but it’s like Rihanna, I was imagining her naked.”
The 31-year-old musician would love to be best friends with the ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ singer.
She added: “Rihanna is incredible, it’s like I’ve always wanted to be friends with Rihanna. Like, who don’t want to be friends with Rihanna?”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who debuted two new songs from their upcoming new album as they made their return to Wembley Stadium on Saturday (06.07.19).
Frontman Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend – who last played the London venue for Live Aid in 1985 – gave fans a taste of what to expect from their first record of new material in over a decade as they performed ‘Hero Ground Zero’ and ‘Still Waiting For The Big Cigar’, which are yet to be mixed, from their follow-up to 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’.
The epic show also saw them duet with support act Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam on ‘The Punk and the Godfather’, which was part of a whole section from the band’s seminal 1973 LP ‘Quadrophenia’.
The other half of the concert was dedicated to ‘Tommy’, their rock opera, with the full backing of an orchestra.
Townshend also paid a touching tribute to tech Alan Rogan who had looked after his guitars for years and sadly passed away just two days prior to show.
He said: “Some of you may already know that Alan Rogan passed away two days ago” he said, ahead of ‘Substitute’.
“He was my guitar tech for over 40 years. He battled cancer and he finally lost his battle. He was a great guy and he was chipper and in high spirits until the end.
“When you’re in a family and people say you’ve only got days or months to live, it’s so weird.
“You take life for granted. It really does mean a lot to be alive and it’s great that you’re all here tonight.”
Daltrey recently admitted the ‘Pinball Wizard’ group – which featured the late drummer Keith Moon and trumpeter John Entwistle in the original line-up – are making the best music they’ve ever made, and heaped praise on their drummer Zac Starkey, the son of Beatles star Ringo Starr, who has been playing with them since 1996, and wowed the stadium.
Asked what it’s like writing new music after almost six decades in the business, the 75-year-old frontman said: “It’s easy because we’re both stone deaf, so we don’t play loud any more, we play well, which is good.
“And we let the PA make all the noise.
“So musically I think it’s better than it’s ever been, to be honest with you. We can’t replace John and Keith, but Zac Starkey is the next best Keith Moon drummer there is around.”
Roger and Pete have been working with Noel Gallagher and Oasis producer Dave Sardy on their record, which tackles fishing and #MeToo.
The Brooklyn-born studio wizard produced the 52-year-old rocker’s former band’s albums ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ in 2005 and ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ in 2008, and the pair last worked together on High Flying Birds’ self-titled debut record in 2011.
A title and official released for the new Who album is yet to be revealed.

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson performed their ‘A Star Is Born’ duet ‘The Love Inside’ live for the first time ever at London’s Hyde Park on Sunday night (07.07.19).
The surprise performance came over four decades after the ‘Woman in Love’ hitmaker, 77, and the ‘Me and Bobby McGee’ singer, 83 – who had performed his own set earlier in the day – starred in the 1976 version of the musical drama, which was adapted last year with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the leading roles.
As Barbra and Kris – who portrayed Esther Hoffman Howard and John Norman Howard respectively in the movie – walked on stage, the music legend asked her leading man: “Can we sing like that again?”
If that wasn’t enough of a treat for fans, Barbra – who drew in a star-studded crowd including A-listers Antonio Banderas, Richard E. Grant and Ralph Fiennes – brought out special guest Lionel Richie for their first live performance of ‘The Way We Were’, which they recorded for her 2014 duets LP ‘Partners’.
The ‘All Night Long’ hitmaker – who had performed with Stevie Wonder the night before at Hyde Park – admitted it was a mission to sneak into the festival and keep the secret appearance under wraps and that he was ticking off one his biggest dreams by getting to perform with Barbra.
Before the stunning duet, Lionel asked where the ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ hitmaker’s dogs were, and the animal-mad star later had her pets Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet – who she had cloned from her beloved pooch Samantha, a fluffy white Coton de Tulear breed, before she died in 2017 – brought out on stage to be introduced to the 65,000 people in the crowd.
The ‘Meet the Fockers’ star admitted she wasn’t sure if the dogs were down with “show business”, before they were escorted behind stage after a brief visit to their mother.
Barbra had kicked off her dazzling set with a humorous rendition of ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’, in which she paid homage to her favourite things about the UK, including The Duchess of Sussex, clotted cream and Cornish pasties.
And she even took regular intervals to sip some English Breakfast tea from a china teapot and cup and saucer placed on a table with a rose in a vase.
The Hollywood icon also quipped that she didn’t attend the Pride event in the capital this weekend, as she knew many of her LGBTQ+ fans would be in the audience.
She smiled: “On the way here, the driver asked me if I’d gone to any of the Pride celebrations.
“And I said why would I? I knew they’d be here tonight!
“I believe everyone has the right to love everyone whoever they choose.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Perry thinks “divine intervention” brought Aerosmith and Run-DMC together.
The ‘Crazy’ hitmakers saw their careers revived when they teamed up with the hip-hop group in 1986 on a new version of ‘Walk this Way’ but the guitarist admitted he had no idea just how big an impact the track would make.
He said: “We rally didn’t realise the impact that song and that video made on people until we were touring in Europe and there were people who thought we were a new band.
“They didn’t know anything about the earlier days. We were fascinated by that.
“When Rick Rubin sent us a couple of plane tickets to go to New York to record the song and then make the video a couple of months later, for us it was business as usual.
“Obviously the song was a big hit, but we really didn’t realise what the impact was.
“Without it, we would have kept playing and going on, and it would have been us doing what we’ve always done. Who knows what we would have written later down the road, but there was some divine intervention there that put us in touch with Run-DMC. I’m really pleased that it happened.”
While Aerosmith are currently on a break, Joe is busy with Hollywood Vampires, his group with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp and admitted it wasn’t much of a surprise when he started working with them because he’s always working on new music.
He told Kerrang! magazine: “I’m always writing, recording and messing around with different songs and ideas, just because it’s something that I love to do whether they end up being something anyone gets to hear or not.
“So, I’ve always got songs lying around and it really wasn’t unusual for me to put a band together when I had a little time on my hands.
“Hollywood Vampires isn’t that different, apart from the guys are on a whole other level of tenacity from the guys that I usually play with to have a little fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion paid tribute to Sir George Martin at her London concert on Friday (05.07.19).
The 51-year-old star kicked off the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park and used the gig to remember the English record producer – known as “the fifth Beatle” – who she worked with on her ‘Let’s Talk About Love’ album.
She said: “Many years ago, I had the honour and the privilege of working with the late great Sir George Martin, your very own Sir George Martin and he produced ‘The Reason’ for me. I wanted to mention his name before I sing this song because meeting with him and working with him, singing for him was more than a privilege, it was a true honour and I wanted to say a few words about him. So thank you so much.”
And the star spoke about her involvement with 2018’s ‘Deadpool 2’, when she recorded ‘Ashes’ for the soundtrack, although she joked that she originally hoped to star in it and win a Best Actress Oscar.
She said: “Last year I was invited to participate in a very crazy movie called ‘Deadpool 2’, which was a huge success here in the UK. The man starring in this movie is an incredibly talented and funny actor by the name of Ryan Reynolds. At first I thought that he wanted me to star in the movie and I was imagining myself on red carpets and winning the Best Actress Oscar but of course I’m not an actor, I’m a singer. Although maybe soon, stay tuned.
“So Ryan sent me a song he wanted me to record and when I listened to it, of course I accepted it. This is ‘Ashes’.”
Celine ended her show with ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from ‘Titanic’ and John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’.
She said: “I want to end with this message of peace and harmony in the best way that I can. And if you want to sing it with me, I would love that very, very much.”
