OHMYGOSSIP — Scouting for Girls are optimistic about the future of music because of Lewis Capaldi.
Singer Roy Stride has praised the ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker for making it about the music again rather than about looks and rockstar status.
He said: “He’s not what you think of as a star but because the music is so good it outweighs what someone looks like or how someone acts. Lewis is such a legend but maybe five years ago he wouldn’t have had that chance but now people just listen to what they love, it puts the music back in control.”
And the ‘She’s So Lovely’ hitmaker feels the way Lewis and his contemporaries use social media is very clever.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “The kids are thinking about how to use it [social media] and they are much more aware of the negative aspects. They are having a lot of fun with it.”
Scouting For Girls are set to drop a new album, which will be their first standalone LP since 2015’s ‘Still Thinking About You’, and they believe it is their strongest in over a decade.
He said: “We are so excited to release ‘The Trouble with Boys’, our first studio album in four years. We’re really proud of it and genuinely feel it’s our best collection of songs since our debut. Both albums really benefited from the extra time and care we spent writing and recording them. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The album will drop on September 20 and the singers are set for a huge winter tour this year.
Speaking about hitting the road, they added: “Touring is our very favourite aspect of being in this band. Our 2017 anniversary tour was so incredible that we’re pulling out all the stops to beat it. We’ve got a handful of new tunes, some old fan favourites we haven’t played for years plus all the big singles. We can’t wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has broken the record for the most monthly listeners on Spotify.
The 28-year-old music megastar is no stranger to breaking records, and he now has another accolade to add to his collection as he is now the artist with the most listeners in a single month on streaming service Spotify.
Ed released his latest album, a collaborative project entitled ‘No. 6 Collaborations Project’ last week, and has allowed Ed to amass a whopping 69 million listeners this month, which is not only the highest for this month, but also the highest ever seen on Spotify.
Spotify classes monthly listeners as the number of individual global users who have played an artist’s music within a rolling 28 day period, and Ed is believed to be on track to surpass 70 million within the coming days, according to Music Business Worldwide.
Ed’s record breaking number tops the previous record set by Drake after the release of his album ‘Scorpion’ last year, which garnered almost 59 million monthly listeners.
The impressive achievement comes as his last album ‘Divide’ – which was released in 2017 – set a new record of 56 million streams on the day of release, while its lead single ‘Shape of You’ picked up over 10 million streams on its first day.
And despite his music breaking records, Ed recently admitted that ‘Shape of You’ took him to a “new level of fame”, and he now has to retreat from the spotlight in order to “protect [his] mind”.
He said: “I used to live in New York and I went out every night but releasing Shape Of You took me to a new level of fame. I was meeting people every day from movies and music. I was getting sucked up into it. I felt myself getting drained.
“If I lived in central London and hung out with people, I wasn’t sure if they were friends with me because of me, or who I am. That’s why I moved here. All of these things are in place to protect my mind and it’s working, I think.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé has parted ways from her music adviser after almost 30 years.
The ‘Formation’ singer has reportedly amicably ended her professional relationship with Teresa LaBarbera Whites, who she has worked with for 28 years.
Beyoncé was just nine years old when the pair first met and was signed by Teresa when she was 11 before launching Destiny’s Child. Teresa has overseen almost all of the ‘Lemonade’ hitmaker’s music – including her new ‘Lion King’ album, ‘The Gift’ – except a brief period when she left to work with Britney Spears, but has been on the star’s staff ever since.
According to Showbiz411, the split came as a result of “tension at the top” of Beyoncé’s business caused when “art and commerce” clashed following the appointment of new co-COO Steve Pamon.
A spokesperson for the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker has yet to comment on the report.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé has dropped her highly-anticipated new album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’.
The record – which is separate from the movie’s official soundtrack – features her husband Jay-Z, ‘Lion King’ co-star Donald Glover under his Childish Gambino alias and Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Wiz Kid.
Her and Jay’s daughter, Blue Ivy, seven, has a writing credit on the track ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
The ‘Spirit’ singer has described the record as a “love letter to Africa”.
She added in an interview with ABC News: “I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish could be set to collaborate with Tyler, The Creator.
The 17-year-old singer received high praise from the ‘EARFQUAKE’ hitmaker earlier this week in which he said he’d love to work with the star one day, as he said he doesn’t care if their future collaboration is “trash” because he just wants to “see what [they] could do”.
Speaking in an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio on Thursday (18.07.19), the 28-year-old rapper said: “Until Billie Eilish f**k me up next week. That b***h is big. That n**** came from nowhere. I think it’s sick. I like her. I just want her to keep doing her God damn thing. I want to work with her. I don’t know what the f**k we would make. Even if it don’t come out, if it’s trash, I still just want to see what we could [do].”
And the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker quickly responded to Tyler’s comments on her Instagram account, saying she would be “nothing” without his music.
She wrote: “lmfaoooooo i would never in a billion years have thought these words would come out of this mans mouth. wow. i would be nothing without you tyler.. everyone knows it (sic)”
Meanwhile, Billie previously mentioned Tyler as one of her biggest idols alongside the likes of Avril Lavigne, Lana Del Rey, and Childish Gambino.
She said: “Avril was everything to me, I love Avril. I only love her. There’s nothing else there, just love.
“There is almost no other artist like that. Her, Tyler, Gambino, [Justin] Bieber made me and Lana, probably.
“They made me. I would not be me. [Avril] has my number though and she texts me sometimes, it’s so cool. She’ll be like: ‘Hey babe it’s Avril’. Oh my God.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie Wood is recording his first solo album in almost a decade.
The Rolling Stones rocker last released a solo record in 2010 with ‘I Feel Like Playing’, and after taking a break from his own music to head on tour with the ‘Satisfaction’ hitmakers, he’s set to come back to his solo career this October, as a new album is in the pipeline.
Ronnie’s album will drop later this year to coincide with a documentary about the 72-year-old guitarist’s life, and insiders say it “hasn’t been easy” putting together the new projects.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “This album and the TV show is a big deal for Ronnie. He hasn’t done any solo recordings since ‘I Feel Like Playing’ and ‘Live In London’ in 2010.
“He felt it was time to tell his story with a programme he fully cooperated with. It’s likely to be with the BBC or Netflix and offers a very candid look back on his life.
“But making this documentary, which has taken four years to complete, and the album, hasn’t been easy. He’s had to juggle so many things over the last decade.”
Ronnie married his third wife Sally Humphreys in 2012, and the couple welcomed twins Gracie and Alice in 2016.
A year later, the ‘Gimme Shelter’ rocker had to have part of a lung removed due to cancer, after he refused to have chemotherapy.
After recovering from his operation, Ronnie is now on the road with the Rolling Stones, completing their ‘No Filter’ world tour, which saw several dates postponed after band mate Sir Mick Jagger had to have heart valve replacement surgery in April.
The tour is set to finish in Miami on August 31, which gives Ronnie some time to put the finishing touches on his record ahead of its planned October release.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jax Jones is set to include his collaborations with Demi Lovato and Raye on his upcoming debut album.
The 31-year-old DJ has already stormed the charts with his collaborations with the likes of Raye, whom he worked with on his 2016 single ‘You Don’t Know Me’ – which peaked at number three in the UK charts – and Demi, but fans will be able to get their hands on some of his classic hits when he releases his debut album later this year.
Jax will release ‘Snacks (Supersize)’ on September 6, and the album is set to feature his 2016 track with Raye, his collaboration with Demi – which also features Stefflon Don, and was released in 2017 – entitled ‘Instruction’, and his 2018 single ‘Play’ which features Years & Years.
The album also includes collaborations with Jess Glynne on the track ‘One Touch’, Bebe Rexha on ‘Harder’, and Madison Beer on ‘All Day and Night’, which were all released this year.
There are also as yet unreleased collaborations with Tove Lo and Ella Henderson, which will be available to fans when the album is released.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Jax said: “It’s so exciting to have an album with all my hits and new songs in one place.
“When you work with the names I did on the album, it makes you bring your A-game. This process started after I released ‘You Don’t Know Me’ with Raye in 2016 and it became a worldwide hit.
“That song defined my sound and now I’m so happy to say the record is done.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne will collaborate with Miley Cyrus again.
The 58-year-old musician previously teamed up with Miley when she lent her vocals to Flaming Lips track ‘Oczy Mlody’ in 2017, and Wayne has now said she’s likely to feature on more songs in the future, because her close friendship with his wife Katy Weaver – with whom he has a one-month-old son – means they often spend time together.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “Her best friend is my wife, there’s a lot of time spent together. They can be gallivanting around town or whatever, and I could be in the studio getting something together.
“At the end of the night she could run in for an hour and we’d do two or three tracks. I loved that way of working, there was enthusiasm and joy involved.
“We are still great friends, I’m always making a record. I mean, I always have three or four things happening at the same time. I think she knew that.
“If we’re going to be friends and hang out together, we’re going to end up making a record. That’s just what I do.”
Wayne’s comments come after he said last year he wanted to make a vinyl out of the ‘Malibu’ hitmaker’s pee.
The rocker helped produce Miley’s 2015 project ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’, and said he wanted the next album of hers he worked on to be made of a mixture of the star’s urine and glitter.
Wayne – whose band used beer and human blood for their records – said: “You can’t really up the ante too much from human blood, but maybe when the beer is your own beer – the beer was made especially for the Flaming Lips and has our influence in its taste and colour.
“That’s not as insane as having a little bit of Erykah Badu, and Chris Martin’s blood in your records. Probably not as insane as that, but still pretty great.
“The next record we were talking about releasing was the Miley Cyrus and the Dead Petz record. We’d get a good amount of Miley’s pee and mix it with some glitter and put that in. I think that would up the ante. Don’t you?”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Streets have released a new single titled ‘How Long’s It Been?’.
The hip hop music group’s frontman Mike Skinner has teamed up with Flohio to release the new track under The Streets’ name, which recorded in collaboration with Cognac manufacturer Hennessy, as part of their Masters of Potential project in association with Abbey Road Studios.
Speaking about working with Flohio, Mike – who also produced the track – said in a statement: “Flohio’s energy is insane. She adds colour to a quite serious trap energy and makes something just as unpredictable and homespun as anyone from Atlanta. She has the juice on stage.”
Hennessy’s Masters of Potential project challenges musicians to create and record one-off moments live-to-vinyl at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
The Streets and Flohio’s collaboration comes after two previous collaborations under the project from JP Cooper and Kojoey Radical, and Krept and Konan with Slaves.
‘How Long’s It Been?’ is the first release from The Streets since 2018, following the smash ‘Call Me In The Morning’ featuring Chip and Grim Sickers.
The track arrives ahead of The Streets’ upcoming collaborative mixtape, which is due out later this year, and is one of two albums the ‘Dry Your Eyes’ hitmakers are currently working on.
Mike, 40, recently revealed that alongside the mixtape, he’s also working on the soundtrack for a film about a DJ, which he worked on last year, and which won’t be released until 2020.
He said: “One of the reasons that I started it again is because I’ve written a film, which is about a DJ. And the album that I’ve written is kind of a musical; it’s part of the film.
“While that’s happening, I’m doing a mixtape, which is a collaborations album – and that will be out hopefully at the end of the summer. That’s kind of like a Streets duet album.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Natasha Bedingfield is releasing a new album for the first time in nine years.
The 37-year-old singer will drop her fourth studio album ‘Roller Skate’ on August 30 after a lengthy break following her 2010 album ‘Strip Me’ and the ‘Unwritten’ hitmaker teased that the new record will be “bright and bold” and will “move people”.
Natasha said: “I wanted to make music that moves people and makes them move, bright and bold but in a way that is also raw and honest.”
‘Roller Skate’ is produced by multi-platinum producer Linda Perry and released on WE ARE HEAR, the combination label/publishing/management company co-founded by Linda Perry and Kerry Brown.
Perry added: “I wanted to work with Natasha because she is one of the best live performers I have ever seen and has one of the most versatile voices I have ever heard. It was important to both of us to capture the true spirit of who Natasha Bedingfield is and we nailed it!”
Although fans have to wait for the album, the ‘Pocket Full of Sunshine’ singer has today (19.07.19) released her new single ‘Roller Skate’ and will give fans another taste of the album on August 2 with ‘Kick It’.
Despite her time away, Natasha recently released a special new remix of her iconic song ‘Unwritten’ for MTV’s The Hills and is set to perform a special version of ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ with the National Symphony Orchestra on Saturday July 20 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon.

OHMYGOSSIP — Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’ has been named the most-played song on UK radio in the past two decades.
Frontman Gary Lightbody admitted it’s “unbelievable’ that the 2006 track from their fourth album,’ Eyes Open’, which propelled them to global stardom, has made the feat, but he explained that the fact the ballad “unifies an audience” could have something to do with its on-going appeal.
He told the BBC: “It’s unbelievable.
“I’m not sure how that happened.
“It’s an emotionally open song and it’s a simple song. “But it’s also unabashedly a love song, and we don’t really have any others.
“The way it unifies an audience is the thing I most cherish about it. It’s a beautiful moment every time you play it.”
The song was also featured in the hit medical drama ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and many TV shows.
Peter Leather, the chief executive of music licensing company PPL, said: “‘Chasing Cars’ is a song that has become a popular anthem, securing huge success across radio, in public and especially TV, where its huge appeal has led to its use in many programmes and especially ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.”
The Northern Irish group – who formed in 1994 – recorded the song and “half” of the record with producer to the stars Jacknife Lee in his garden shed after a night on the vino.
Gary recalled: “Jacknife Lee had a studio in the shed of his garden and we went down there with a couple of bottles of wine, and we wrote through the night.
“In fact, we wrote 10 songs that night – and five of them ended up on ‘Eyes Open’, so that was pretty much half the album.
“Normally when you listen back to the music you wrote after a few glasses of wine, you go, ‘Ah well, better luck next time’. But that particular evening, [we] gathered a lot of good stuff.”
Meanwhile, ‘I Gotta Feeling’ by the Black Eyed Peas’ and Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ came in at second and third place respectively.
PPL awarded Gary, 43, with a award to mark the achievement.

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea is jokingly demanding a collaboration with Peppa Pig.
The Australian rapper tweeted the official account for the popular children’s TV character from the hit show of the same name asking for a duet with the animated pig after she announced the release of her first record, ‘Peppa Pig My First Album’.
Peppa wrote: “My First Album is available to stream this Friday! Are you little ones excited? You can already listen to ‘Bing Bong Zo’ NOW! (sic)”
And Iggy replied: “It’s over for me now … Collab with me now or you’ll end up a breakfast special peppa. (sic)”
The account replied with a nod to Iggy’s 2014 hit ‘Fancy’.
They wrote: “Peppa’s so fancy, you already know”, along with the pig emoji.
Iggy returns with her new album ‘In My Defense’ on Friday (19.07.19).
The 29-year-old rapper hasn’t released a record since her debut ‘The New Classic’ back in 2014.
The artwork for the LP features the ‘Savior’ hitmaker soaked in blood on the side of her car while wearing a glistening silver dress, whilst there is also blood splattered on the side of the car and a red light illuminating the scene.
Posting the picture of the artwork on Instagram, Iggy wrote: “In My Defense: July 19th Pre Order: June 28th (sic)”
Iggy spoke about the artwork’s inspiration on Twitter, where she said it was a “statement” about women in the public eye finding it hard to “defend themselves”.
In a series of tweets explaining the artwork, Iggy wrote: “It’s a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze, not rebirth.
“I guess I don’t feel women are really given a fair chance to be “heard out” so how could anyone survive that amount of judgement.
“I wore a “going out” dress and clutch because I wanted it to feel like I had been out somewhere and was clearly unprepared for a fight (sic)”
Meanwhile, the ‘Black Widow’ hitmaker expressed her excitement at the finished artwork, as she teased fans by saying she was “satisfied” with the packaging of her album.
She wrote: “I just saw my album packaging all finished in all physical formats and I feel tingly.
“Ahhhhh… satisfaction. Nothing better than an idea coming to life perfectly how you dreamt it up. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey’s 2001 greatest hits collection is being released on vinyl for the first ever time.
‘The Best of Morrissey’ is a compilation of the singer’s solo songs released between 1988 and 1998 and was originally released on CD in North America only.
Now, Parlophone is revisiting that classic compilation this year and it will come out as a double-LP in vinyl format on August 30.
Rhino.co.uk will also release a “clear” vinyl version, limited to 1000 copies on the same day.
Morrissey launched his solo career with his 1988 album ‘Viva Hate’ following the shock break-up of his band The Smiths in 1987.
In the next decade the ‘This Charming Man’ hitmaker released six albums and achieved five top ten UK singles, including ‘Suedehead’, ‘Everyday Is Like Sunday’ and ‘The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get’.
‘The Best of Morrissey’ is comprised of 21 tracks including ‘We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful’ and ‘Glamorous Glue’ from his Grammy nominated 1992 LP ‘Your Arsenal’ and ‘The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get’ and ‘Hold On To Your Friends’ from his 1994 album ‘Vauxhall And I’. It also includes non-album singles ‘Interesting Drug’ and ‘The Last of the Famous International Playboys’, which were collected on compilation album ‘Bona Drag’.
Rarities include the non-album single ‘Sunny’, and the B-sides ‘Sister I’m a Poet’ and ‘Lost’.
All the other studio albums the singer released between 1988 and 1997 are represented with ‘Sing For Your Life’ from 1991’s ‘Kill Uncle’, ‘Do Your Best And Don’t Worry’ from 1995 record ‘Southpaw Grammar’ and ‘Alma Matters’ from 1997’s Maladjusted (1997).
Morrissey’s latest album is ‘California Son’ which is a collection of covers of some of his favourite songs and features contributions from a host of musicians including Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and singer/songwriter LP.
The tracklisting includes The Fifth Dimension’s ‘Wedding Bell Blues’, Bob Dylan’s ‘Only a Pawn In Their Game’ and Roy Orbison’s ‘It’s Over’.

OHMYGOSSIP — David Crosby is open to a reunion with his former supergroup bandmates Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young.
The 77-year-old singer/songwriter former Crosby, Stills, Nash in 1969 with Canadian musician Young joining later and they released eight albums up until 1999.
Crosby would be open to performing with his former bandmates again and he loves them and thinks the music they made together was “great”.
In an interview on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’, he said: “Never say never, man. I have no bad stuff in my heart about any of those guys, man, I made too much great music with them. I love them.”
Crosby – who was the guitarist and singer with The Byrds before forming the folk rock supergroup – did acknowledge that he and his former bandmates were “awful to each other” after Fallon pointed out that they don’t speak to one another.
Crosby said: “We bashed heads with each other so many times, I mean we were so awful to each other so many times. All of us were. And I think we all know that.”
The ‘Ohio’ singer revealed that he is regularly contacted on Twitter by fans asking him and the other band members to “get your act together” and reform in order to “be a voice for the people that love you”.
Crosby conceded that in the current political climate it would “be a great time for us to be out singing like that”, then suggesting he would take part in a “get out for the vote tour” ahead of the next American Presidential elections.

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson is reissuing a number of her classic albums on vinyl.
The 53-year-old singer reissued her 1986 album ‘Control’ last month, and following the success of the new release, she has decided to unveil plans to reissue a further five more of her classic solo albums.
Janet will reissue 1897’s ‘Control: The Remixes’, 1989’s ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’, 1993’s ‘janet.’, 1997’s ‘Velvet Rope’, and 2001’s ‘All For You’ on vinyl, and all five of the new releases will hit shelves on the same day, on July 26.
The date coincides with the start of the second run of the ‘Rhythm Nation’ hitmaker’s ‘Metamorphosis’ Las Vegas residency, which will start on July 24 and run until July 31.
Janet already wowed crowds at the the Park Theater at Park MGM resort with her first run of shows, which she performed from May 17 to May 26.
The production sees Janet peel back the layers of her immensely private life, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global Icon.
The centrepiece of the thought-provoking show is Janet herself, captivating audiences through their senses with electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers, chart-topping hits and fan-favourite deep cuts.
Fans will follow her path to self-love, empowerment, motherhood and activism, amidst the challenges faced along her personal journey.
She also encourages attendees to find their own light within themselves through her ‘Metamorphosis’.
Meanwhile, Janet recently said she is “inspired” by her two-year-old son Eissa, whom she has with her ex-husband Wissam Al Mana.
She said: “I’m in a great space. I have a beautiful son.
“My friends call me Superwoman. God knows I’m not. But I think what they are seeing is the energy and that extra drive I’m getting from the inspiration of Eissa.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Pop nearly quit music after being left “drained” by touring.
The 72-year-old rocker admits he “wanted to be free” after hitting the road to promote his 17th album ‘Post Pop Depression’, but he later decided to continue in the music industry.
He said: “I felt drained. I felt like I wanted to put on shades, turn my back and walk away. I wanted to be free.
“I know that’s an illusion, and that freedom is only something you feel, but I have lived my life thus far in the belief that that feeling is all that is worth pursuing.”
Iggy is now set to drop his 18th studio album, ‘Free’, and admits the record “kind of just happened”.
He is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “It’s all that you need – not happiness or love necessarily, but the feeling of being free.
“So this album just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen.”
Last year, Iggy teamed up with ‘Born Slippy’ hitmakers Underworld for four-track EP ‘Teatime Dub Encounters’, and admitted he wanted to perform “behind a screen” because he is tired of people looking at him.
He said: “Some time, some day, I would like to sit in the dark behind a screen and do the live vocals while they play. I would love to do that.
“But I’m just tired. I’m tired of people looking at me all the time. What I enjoy most in my life are my secret hours.
“So probably if I ever did this live with these guys, it’ll be when they’re somewhere where they’ve got room for an extra hand for bridge or whatever and I can go behind.
“Maybe I could have one guy, like, with a cell phone in my face and nobody could see me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi and Noel Gallagher met up and ended their feud.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker has been embroiled in a war of words with the former Oasis rocker but they look to have buried the hatchet after meeting up backstage at Mad Cool festival last weekend.
Lewis told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I actually met him, I met him at Mad Cool, he was lovely, I gave him a big hug.
“And I whispered in his ear: ‘It’s going to be OK’ and he wriggling, he was wriggling, I pinned him down and I said: ‘Noel, come here, it’s going to be fine.’
“It’s all a good laugh, it’s very funny, you can’t take it seriously, he doesn’t care and I’m not bothered, say what you want.”
Most recently, Lewis had worn a Chewbacca mask to TRNSMT festival, when he also dedicated his rendition of Oasis hit ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ to his “dear, dear father” Noel and changed the title to ‘Don’t Chewbac In Anger’.
The band’s former guitarist had fumed in an interview: “F***ing Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot.”
After the insult, Lewis instantly changed his Twitter username to Chewis Capaldi and updated his profile picture to him as Chewbacca.
Lewis also used his Glastonbury appearance last month to mock Noel.
He donned a green parka and matching bucket hat, the Britpop group’s trademark outfits in the 90s, as a clip of Noel saying “Who’s this Capaldi fella?” played on repeat on the screens around the stage.
Taking off the parka, Lewis then revealed he was wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with Noel’s face, surrounded by a heart and the whole stunt was in response to the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker’s dismissal of Lewis and his songs in a radio interview that happened before the Worthy Farm gig.
The beef with the ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ singer started after Noel said in an interview: “Music is f**king w**k at the moment. Who’s this Capaldi fella? Who the f**k’s that idiot?”
Taking to his Instagram Stories to respond, Lewis posted a video in which he joked that becoming the latest in a long line of musicians to be “slagged off” by Noel was better than having a number one album or number one single.
He said: “F***ing c’mon! F***ing peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher! Number 1 single – who gives a f**k? Number 1 album – who gives a f**k? Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true. It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy.”
