OHMYGOSSIP — 50 Cent thinks the music industry tried to shun him when he first came on the scene.
The chart-topping rap star released his debut album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2003, and has claimed that much like his hit TV show ‘Power’, the album was overlooked for awards because of a widespread prejudice within the industry.
Asked why the predominantly black TV show had been overlooked at the Emmys, he said: “I like to say it’s racial.
“That’s the easy way to get out of things. People who are running and connected to these ceremonies are not necessarily cool people.”
But 50 admitted it wasn’t the first time in his career that he’d been overlooked for awards.
The 44-year-old star – who is one of the best-selling rappers of all time – explained: “This project is the same material I used for my music.
“I didn’t receive an award for Best New Artist when I had the largest debut for a hip-hop album. I sold more records for a first album today. I look at it the same. I’m going to make the numbers.”
Ultimately, 50 – who plays the part of Kanan Stark on the show – believes the industry will eventually regret overlooking ‘Power’ and the buzz it’s created.
He said: “The viewership before we’re done with it, they’ll be looking around saying ‘Yeah, we f***ed up again.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney and his band are planning to release an album of cuts from their improvised soundchecks.
The Beatles legend teased it’s a “treasure trove” of unheard material they’ve been keeping recordings of over the years.
In an interview for his website paulmccartney.com, the 77-year-old rocker was asked if they still ad-lib at soundcheck, and he replied: “Yeah, we do!
“We’ve got millions of them!
“And fortunately, there’s a guy called Jamie, who logs them.
“It’s a little treasure trove!
“And one day we will have to put together an album or seething, with a selection of these songs the that we’ve gathered.”
Meanwhile, McCartney has just announced he’s working on a stage adaptation of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’.
The ‘Let it Be’ hitmaker is in the process of turning the 1946 film – which starred the likes of James Stewart and Donna Reed – into a musical production after teaming up with Bill Kenwright, who will produce the project.
He said: “Like many of these things this all started with an email. Bill had asked if it was something I might be up for.
“Writing a musical is not something that had ever really appealed to me but Bill and I met up with Lee Hall and had a chat and I found myself thinking this could be interesting and fun.”
The film plot tells the story of George Bailey (James), who is saved by his guardian angel Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers) after being on the brink of taking his own life.
He added: “‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ is a universal story we can all relate to.”
The music icon – who released his 17th solo album ‘Egypt Station’ in September – is said to be writing the music for the production, and he has joined forces with Lee Hall to pen the lyrics.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan McGee says it will take a “tragedy” to reunite warring siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher.
The man who discovered Oasis and signed them to his independent label Creation Records in 1993 believes it will take some really “bad news” for the brothers to stop hating one another and put their differences aside and reform the Britpop group.
Speaking on Clint Boon’s Humans of XS Manchester podcast, McGee said: “They’re not going to get back together at any time soon, but the only thing that might happen is the circumstances might change in people’s lives.
“I don’t want to say what I think that might be, but it could be anything, it could be bad news and then they’re thrown together and then suddenly it’s like: ‘I don’t hate.’
“But at the moment I can’t see it anytime soon.”
Director Danny Boyle, who is helming the upcoming film ‘Creation Stories’ about McGee, admitted he thinks the former bandmates – who have been at loggerheads ever since a massive fight erupted between the pair backstage at their final concert in Paris in 2009, leading to the demise of the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers – says he can see Liam and Noel being “thrown together by fate”, but he doubts very much Oasis will get back together.
Speaking on Clint’s ‘Storytime with Boon’ podcast, he said: “You’d have to think they might become friends at one time, because life never runs smooth.
“Through fate they’ll be thrown together at some point, whether they’ll ever be in a band with each other again I don’t know, I can’t call that.
“I know there’s a lot of hurt feelings on both sides, with Noel anyway I know there is.”
Liam, 46, recently tweeted that if he was Prime Minister of the UK, he would “make it law” for Oasis to get back together, but Noel, 52, mocked the idea.
The band’s former guitarist, who has called ex-frontman Liam’s fans who hate his solo work ‘Parka Monkeys’ in the past, said: “If they want to hear old Oasis songs they’re being played by a fat man in an anorak somewhere, you know, with shorts on so they can go and see that.
“I’ve no desire at all to get back involved with Oasis.”
The ‘Black Star Dancing’ hitmaker – who quit Oasis immediately after their Paris gig fight – insisted their fans are stuck in the past and “refuse to believe” it’s over.
He continued: “I’m afraid Oasis is in the past and that’s it.
“There’s a lot of people in England who refuse to accept that it’s over.
“It’s like when they watch boxsets and they don’t like the ending.
“They refuse to believe that is the way it ends because they didn’t want it to end like that.
“I’m afraid life is not like that, you know.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy, Jorja Smith and Gaz Coombes are among the new judges for the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize.
The ‘Vossi Bop’ rapper, ‘Blue Lights’ singer and former Supergrass frontman are joined by BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac and Editorial Director of VICE.com Tshepo Mokoena on the prestigious panel, which already features DJ Clara Amfo, jazz star Jamie Cullum, Radio X’s Mike Walsh, Kerrang! and Mojo’s Phil Alexander, Pop Critic Will Hodgkinson and The Chair Jeff Smith.
The Mercury Prize’s 12 ‘Albums of the Year’ will be announced on Thursday (25.07.19).
David Wilkinson, Mercury Prize Chairman, said “There were over 200 albums entered for the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize – and the judges spend many months listening to these and then meet to decide on the shortlist of 12 ‘Albums of the Year’.
“This has been an exciting year for British and Irish music so it’s going to be tough for them choosing just 12 albums.
“After last year’s successful event we’re looking forward to an equally diverse and eclectic shortlist being announced by Huw Stephens on 25 July.”
The overall winner will be announced on September 9 at a ceremony – which this year sees Amazon Music as the event’s Digital Music Partner – at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith in London, featuring live performances from all 12 shortlisted acts.
Wolf Alice won last year’s Mercury Prize.
The Ellie Roswell-fronted rock group – whose debut album ‘My Love is Cool’ was nominated for the 2015 Mercury Prize – beat off the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Arctic Monkeys, Florence + the Machine, Lily Allen, and Jorja to be crowned the winners of the iconic prize.
The shortlist will be announced live at 11am on Mary Anne Hobbs’ show on BBC Radio 6 Music tomorrow (25.07.19).

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is set to make his solo debut on ‘MTV Unplugged’.
The iconic music series, which sees artists perform live acoustically in an intimate setting, has seen legendary acts including Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, and recently Shawn Mendes and Biffy Clyro take part over the years.
Now Liam is set to play Hull City Hall in Kingston upon Hull in East Riding of Yorkshire, England, on August 3rd, almost 23 years to the date Oasis performed their ‘Unplugged’ set without the frontman, who refused to sing because of throat problems, leaving his three bandmates, including brother Noel Gallagher, to go it alone.
The 46-year-old rocker will treat fans to renditions of his solo songs, including new tracks from his upcoming second solo LP ‘Why Me? Why Not. – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘As You Were’ – and some “stone cold classic from the mighty Oasis”.
In a statement, Liam said: “I’m honoured to be performing at the legendary showcase that is ‘MTV Unplugged’.
“I’ll be playing songs from my number-one debut solo album, I’ll be playing some stone cold classics from the mighty Oasis and I’ll be showcasing some of my new songs from my upcoming second solo album ‘Why Me? Why Not.’ I’d love it if you could join us as it’s sure to be a biblical evening. P.S. I Love Hull!”
Bruce Gillmer, Global Head of Music and Talent, MTV International, commented: “MTV Unplugged lets music fans experience their favourite artists’ songs in a completely new way.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the franchise back to the UK, and to markets around the world, for a whole new generation of music fans.

The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker pulled out of the gig in 1996 because he didn’t want to put people through the “misery of him screaming and shouting” and confessed he’d probably hit the booze to too hard the night before the recording.
He later shared: “I probably to be honest right, I probably drank too much the night before then had a sore throat. Then I thought, you know what, there’s no point in putting these people through it the misery of me screaming and shouting like and that not being good like I thought our kid looks like he’s up for it so he did it.”
Liam’s ‘MTV Unplugged’ gig will be broadcast on MTV on September 23.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers has been named an Ambassador for BBC Music Day 2019.
The Chic legend has witnessed first-hand five family members suffer from Alzheimer’s, including his mother Beverly – who had the neurodegenerative disease which causes memory loss for 13 years – and he is thrilled to be able to support the project which uses music as therapy for sufferers.
Nile said: “The UK is my home from home so I’m delighted to be an Ambassador for BBC Music Day and to highlight the important role music plays in the well-being of our society.
“I’ve witnessed my mother’s and my aunt’s experience with dementia and I know just how transformational music can be for people with this condition.
“I think this is a fantastic initiative, and the updated BBC Music Memories website is a brilliant way for people to identify personally meaningful music and to start to make a playlist so music can be used therapeutically.
“Everyone faces challenges at one point or another and music can be your greatest ally at those important times.”
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker recalled how his mother would get great joy from singing old songs as she battled the illness.
He told the BBC: “Every time we passed any kind of shop that was playing music, she would start to sing.
“Anything that was old, she knew perfectly.
“So a Frank Sinatra song would come on, or Diana Ross or Barbra Streisand. My mom just nailed it. It was incredible.”
BBC Music Day takes place on September 26, and the aim of the initiative is to bring music to everyone living with dementia by 2020.
There will also be a ‘Bargain Hunt’ special airing on TV, which will see a battle of the bands which will see Justin Hawkins of The Darkness and bassist Frankie Poullain up against Feeder’s Grant Nicholas and bassist Taka Hirose at an antiques fair in Stamford Meadows, Lincolnshire.
It will be broadcast during broadcast at 12.15pm on BBC Music Day.
Justin said: “This is the thing that my mother has been dreaming about for years now!”
Whilst Grant added: “I’m a huge fan of ‘Bargain Hunt’, a massive fan!”

OHMYGOSSIP — New music from The 1975 looks imminent as the band have closed down all of their social media accounts.
Matty Healy and co previously deactivated their profiles on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook before dropping ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ and second record ‘I Love It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’.
Whilst the ‘Love Me’ hitmakers recently teased what appears to be the artwork for a track called ‘Wake Up!’ from the second of their double album release, ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’.
Matty recently said the band don’t “regret” agreeing to make two albums within a few months of each other.
The ‘Chocolate’ hitmakers released ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ in November 2018 and are planning to drop ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’ sometime this year but they have no qualms about putting out so much music within such a short space of time as they want to “affect culture” as a group.
The 30-year-old singer explained: “No, of course I am not [regretting it]! We’re in that age now where you’ll watch the best thing you’ve ever seen on Netflix, and the you’ll be like, ‘That was the best thing I’ve ever seen.’ And then you just want the next thing immediately.
“And I’m like that with music as well. It feels like, I want to tour for the next two years. And what do you want to do with a band? You want to affect culture … I don’t think you can do that with one record now. You can if you do like, singles. Your Drakes of the world, who are these amazing artist, but they’re very single oriented. That’s about keeping peoples attention for three minutes. That’s not where our forte is, but we want to be as expressive as possible. We make albums, so just gotta make another album.”
Meanwhile, Matty previously revealed he and his bandmates are planning to host their own festival in 2020.
He wrote on Twitter: “If The 1975 & Co. put on their own festival next year, over 3 nights in the UK, who’s coming? (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975 have teamed up with Greta Thunberg on their new single.
The 16-year-old environmental activist has made her musical debut on a track called ‘The 1975’ – an eponymous title given to the instrumental song which opens each of the band’s albums – and it features her reading an essy over minimal orchestracl backing.
In one part, she says: “We have to acknowledge that the older generations have failed. All political movements in their present form have failed. But homo sapiens have not yet failed. Yes, we are failing, but there is still time to turn everything around.
“We are facing a disaster of unspoken sufferings for enormous amounts of people. And now is not the time for speaking politely or focusing on what we can or cannot say. Now is the time to speak clearly.
“So, everyone out there, it is now time for civil disobedience. It is time to rebel.”
The proceeds from the track will go to campaign group Extinction Rebellion at Greta’s request.
The song, which is the group’s first with a guest artist, was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden, late last month, and wil be the first single from their upcoming third album, ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’.
The ‘Chocolate’ hitmakers are looking at ways to minimise their environmental impact.
Their manager, Jamie Oborne – who founded their record label, Dirty Hit – said his office have phased out all single-use plastic, will no longer produce plastic products including CD jewel cases and are working to minimise the impact of vinyl production.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “Rather than ignoring that it’s a pollutant, we’re minimising it by only doing lightweight vinyl from now on.
“That isn’t very trendy, but one heavyweight LP is the equivalent of making two or three [standard thickness LPs].”
The label’s CDs and vinyl are contained in paper packaging and not wrapped in non-degradable shrink wrap and they are planning to integrate a biodegradable shrink wrap in the future.
The 1975’s next merchandise line will also be environmentally friendly, and will see unsold previous collections repurposed into new pieces of memorabilia.

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Redknapp’s new album is deeply personal.
The 44-year-old singer – who split from Jamie Redknapp in 2017 after almost 20 years of marriage – admitted she has turned to music to help her through some of the toughest times in her life and although her new album draws on her own experiences, she doesn’t want to upset anyone.
Talking about her fourth studio album, ‘Heavy Love’, which is set for release on October 18, she explained to MailOnline: “It’s impossible at my age not to draw upon personal experiences anyway, when making new music.
“I’m confident that it won’t be dishonourable or unkind and it’s not negative about anyone. I wouldn’t try and set tongues wagging to sell a few more records. I make music because I love to.
“I put my personal feelings into it but I don’t want to bring anyone down or be negative. I have just used certain elements of the past couple of years in a creative environment, not a negative one.”
And Louise, who shot to fame as a member of girlband Eternal before leaving to go solo, admitted she would love to reunite with the group, which was also comprised of Kelle Bryan and sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett.
She said: “What I would love to do is a big one off night of just pure Eternal hits. Like for the 30th anniversary or something. We would do it with a big band. Strings, brass – the whole works. And do it at the Albert Hall or something. But it’s got to work for all of us in terms of timing. But yes, I am 100 percent open to it. It would be amazing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Meek Mill has partnered up with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to launch a new label.
The 32-year-old rapper joined forces with Jay-Z, 49, to create a new joint business venture, Dream Chasers – which has been created to find and develop new talent – under Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation.
According to Variety, Meek – whose real name is Robert Williams – will serve as president of Dream Chasers and Meek is also planning to open a recording studio for the label’s future artists.
In a statement about the new partnership, Jay-Z said: “Everything Meek has done leading up to this point shows he is ready to lead the next generation. We look at the big picture – this is way beyond signing artists and having hot records.
“I know he can make music – you’ve heard it. I think he cannot only make music, but make stars. Not only make stars but make films.”
Meek wants to focus his career on “growing artists” and says he feels ready to dive in to the business side of music.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Meek added: “I think the time is now. I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do.
“I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”
Also taking the exciting news to his social media, Meek posted a video of the rap duo signing on the dotted line in New York and quoted Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, saying they have to carve their own path in the industry.
Meek captioned the post: “@DreamChasers Records x @rocnation official joint venture label “Black entrepreneur, nobody did us no favors…Nobody gave us s**t, WE MADE US” – HOV (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie Harry is set to be honoured at the 2019 AIM Awards.
The 74-year-old Blondie frontwoman will receive an award for outstanding contribution to music at this year’s Association of Independent Musicians’ (AIM) annual ceremony, which will be held at London’s famous Roundhouse venue on September 3rd, and the ‘Heart Of Glass’ hitmaker insisted she has always “fought for freedom” and “never lost that ethos” during her long-running career.
In a statement, Debbie told the BBC: “Blondie emerged from a scene that was truly independent and we have never lost that ethos.
“We always fought for the freedom to create what we wanted, without interference. It is an honour to receive this award from a community that helps make that happen every day for artists.”
Meanwhile, Idles lead the way with four nominations in the UK and International Breakthrough categories, as well as for Best Second Album, and Best Creative Packaging.
Jade Bird follows shortly after with three nods for UK Independent Breakthrough, Best Independent Album and International Breakthrough
AIM CEO, Paul Pacifico, added: “It’s great to see the diversity among this year’s nominees, which is a testament to the huge range of quality independent music being produced in 2019.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson battled alcohol addiction caused by his anxiety.
The 41-year-old rocker has dealt with anxiety for many years, and once had an attack in the form of severe dizziness when he first appeared as a guest judge on ‘The Voice’ in 2015.
And Ricky has now said he used to self medicate with alcohol to help ease the symptoms of his anxiety.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper’s G2 Interview, he said: “It’s always available and legal. Plus people really like to see – the guy who was on stage – afterwards. They like to see you drinking … so I would get drunk.
“It becomes a weird hobby to take your mind off everything else. I’d be like, ‘I’m away for three weeks, I’ll get through this by not really noticing.’ And as long as I can do my job properly, everything will be all right.
“On a personal level, I think it was bad. Enough to want to stop. But in the grand scheme of things? I think I drank less than most people spilled.”
The ‘Ruby’ singer doesn’t believe he was ever dependent on alcohol, but instead says he became obsessed with “finding ways to do it”.
Ricky said: “I was more dependent on finding ways to do it than I was doing it. I liked the game of it.
“I liked the fact that it was something I’d plan. I was quite sneaky and I got sneakier. The fun was in hiding it.”
The frontman has since quit drinking, and although he never sought professional help, he says he eventually quit by talking to others who had gone through rehab.
He said: “When you don’t drink and you’re living in a world full of drink, you suddenly meet a lot more people who are in the same boat as you. You gravitate towards people and it’s interesting how many of them are out there.”
Kaiser Chiefs are set to release their seventh studio album, ‘Duck’, on July 26 on Polydor.

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea is “outspoken” through her music.
The ‘Fancy’ hitmaker doesn’t hold back in life and on social media but she has now decided to channel that into her music with her latest offering, ‘In My Defense’.
Speaking to E! News, she said: “I thought it was reminiscent of my life because I feel like I’m always defending myself, whether it’s on the internet or the person that everybody thinks they know a lot of information about so this kind of might be the perfect title for my album. I’m always very outspoken; people don’t doubt that about me but I usually like to do all of my speaking on the internet and have a bit of a ramble but I think it’s good to put it all into your music, which is what I did this time around and it has worked quite well.”
Iggy previously insisted she “doesn’t give a f**k” if just 42 people buy her new album.
Asked by a fan if she’s excited for the album to be out in the world, she replied on Twitter: “Yes & I just want to say now, I don’t give a f**k if only 42 ppl buy it. All 42 of y’all getting another album next year. I’m not stoppingggg (sic)”
The artwork for the LP features the ‘Saviour’ hitmaker soaked in blood on the side of her car while wearing a glistening silver dress, whilst there is also blood splattered on the side of the car and a red light illuminating the scene.
Iggy spoke about the artwork’s inspiration on Twitter, where she said it was a “statement” about women in the public eye finding it hard to “defend themselves”.
In a series of tweets explaining the artwork, Iggy wrote: “It’s a statement about women not having the ability to defend themselves under public gaze, not rebirth. I guess I don’t feel women are really given a fair chance to be “heard out” so how could anyone survive that amount of judgement. I wore a “going out” dress and clutch because I wanted it to feel like I had been out somewhere and was clearly unprepared for a fight (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi will release his first solo album in four years next year.
The 35-year-old rapper will drop ‘Entergalactic’, his first solo LP since 2016’s ‘Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, in 2020 and he has revealed that he will also executive produce, star, write and soundtrack an animated Netflix series based on the forthcoming album.
Cudi tweeted: “Im just gettin started!! Entergalactic’ coming next year. Entergalactic will be something you’ve never experienced. I promise it’ll be a fun ride. Lot of good friends involved. Great songs too! The cast is coming together. I know a year from now seems like forever but itll be here before u know it!”
‘Black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris has brought the project to Netflix and it will showcase music from Cudi’s album, which follows a young man on his journey to discover love.
It’s a busy time for Cudi, who has also been cast in the ‘Bill & Ted’ reboot.
The rapper – who has sold more than 16 million records as a solo artist – is set to star alongside Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in the much-anticipated reboot movie, which is slated for release in 2020.
Cudi’s casting has already been officially confirmed, although his role has not yet been publicly revealed.
In an exchange on Twitter, Alex – who plays the part of Bill S. Preston, Esq in the comedy series – wrote: “@KidCudi dude. It’s been over five years since you and I talked about you being part of this movie. Thanks for your patience 🙂 (sic)”
And Cudi replied: “Alex!!! Man i remember like it was yesterday! Life is wild!! Cant wait to reunite and see u dude!! Big hug for ya (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix’s new music is upbeat because they are all in “happy” places in their lives.
Despite splitting from boyfriend of three years, The Struts’ Jed Elliott, band member Jade Thirlwall says she won’t be channelling any heartbreak into the girl band’s new tunes because she had a “nice” amicable break-up and her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson are all loved-up with their respective partners; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andre Gray and Chris Hughes.
Jade told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We wrote a ballad today, but it’s hard at the minute because all of the girls are happy.
“I didn’t have like a horrible break-up it was a nice one.”
The 26-year-old beauty – who is believed to have called time on her romance with the rocker because they spent so much time apart, due to their hectic schedules – also admitted she is not actively seeking a new relationship and admitted it’s a challenge anyway, because all of her friends are gay and she only goes to LGBTQ+ clubs.
She said: “I am good on my own, I am doing me.
“I can’t be a***ed.
“I’ve got no game, I’ve got absolutely no game.
“I am just surrounded by games all the time.
“That’s where I am happy, that’s my life.
“I am happy with that.
“I only go to gay bars, I only have gay friends and my girls.”
Jade’s bandmate Leigh-Anne, 27, also revealed that the ‘No More Sad Songs’ hitmakers are penning catchy numbers in a bid to have a hit stateside.
She said: “This is our dream to crack America.”
Jade added: “We’ve been trying to write some more pop melodies over urban-y beats.”
Little Mix’s sixth studio album will be the follow-up to 2018’s ‘LM5’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Jones felt “self-helped” after penning his solo music.
The McFly star launched his solo career last year and previously revealed the studio sessions for his debut EP acted as his way of dealing with the affects of his father walking out on his family when he was 18.
The 33-year-old musician has admitted it took “a while” to write the lyrics as it was like therapy for him and it was “hard” to “revisit” his past experiences which caused him “anxiety”.
Speaking to the Official Charts: Take The Hit podcast, Danny explained: “The solo stuff took a while. It’s been like therapy because growing up with whatever experiences you grow up with, it’s hard to write about it.
“It’s hard to go back and revisit it and understand why you’ve got anxiety; understand why you are who you are.
“I have more positives that I can pull [from it] than negatives.
“Yes I’ve had anxiety, yes I’ve been down about it, yes I don’t talk to my dad anymore.”
The experience was also freeing and the ‘Obviously’ hitmaker – who has 17-month-old son Cooper with wife Georgia – says he felt like he became “a man” during the two years.
He added: “I feel self-helped, in a way, because of the situations I’ve written about and not realising I felt that way. “Honestly, it’s been these huge two years of becoming a man, I suppose.
“I’ve definitely become stronger just by writing about it. It’s almost like a weight off my shoulders.”
On why he had to write these personal songs for himself, Danny previously explained: “When we had our year off from the 15 years of madness, I started writing for The People and then all this stuff I’ve not dealt with like mum and dad’s breakdown in their relationship.
“And I was like: ‘These can’t be for anyone else.’
“These have to be for me so that’s why I started doing solo things.”
