OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has released a new ‘Care Package’ compilation album, featuring unreleased tracks.
The ‘God’s Plan’ rapper took to Instagram this week to announce he was dropping the new compilation, which gathers loose songs and tracks from throughout his career.
Posting on social media on Thursday (01.08.19) to announce the release, Drake wrote: “Available Friday on all platforms. Some of our most important moments together available in one place. Care Package.”
The surprise project includes fan favourite tracks such as ‘Can I’ – which was leaked around the time ‘Views’ came out – ‘Girls Love Beyonce’, and ‘Paris Morton Music’.
Drake’s album also includes features from J. Cole, James Fauntleroy and Rick Ross.
The album comes just a few months after the 32-year-old musician – whose real name is Aubrey Graham – re-released his 2009 album ‘So Far Gone’, finally making the 10-year-old project available to stream on all platforms.
‘Care Package’ follows Drake’s critically acclaimed 2018 album ‘Scorpion’, and comes as he previously promised fans a new album would be coming in 2019.
Speaking toward the end of his ‘Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour’ alongside trap trip Migos, Drake said he planned to head straight into the studio once he’d given himself a “little break” at the end of the tour.
He said on stage: “Okay, six shows left. I guess, you know, I guess – I’m gonna tell you what I’m going to do. Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over and maybe I take a little break, I’m gonna get right to work on a new album so we can be back right here in Edmonton and have a new party.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has signed a record deal with Universal Music Group.
The 38-year-old reality TV star has been working with producer Naughty Boy – who previously collaborated with Beyonce – on her new music and is preparing to release her first single later this year.
According to Dan Wootton’s column in The Sun Newspaper, Gemma’s new music deal will prevent her from taking part in Simon Cowell’s ‘Celebrity X Factor’ as ‘X Factor’s contract is with rival record label Sony.
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that Gemma had written a heartbreak tune, ‘Come Home’, inspired by her on/off relationship with James ‘Arg’ Argent, and Naughty Boy, 34, has tipped her to make it big in the music industry.
He said: “She was born to sing, it’s just that she’s actually taken a different route with it.
“But I think Gemma is going to have one of the biggest songs of the year, I can say that with my hand on my heart.
“It’s definitely a romantic song and Gemma’s got such a big heart, it makes a lot of sense of her whole life right now.”
Naughty Boy had “instant synergy” with Gemma when he was introduced to her at the BRIT Awards earlier this year, and he has believed she is going to be a “superstar” ever since she sang him a version of Beyonce’s ‘Running’.
He added: “She sung me a part of ‘Running’, the Beyonce song, and when she sung me that, I was thinking, ‘This girl can actually sing, she’s got a personality and she’s got a following. This is the new age superstar.
“When people hear the music and hear her voice, I think it’s going to take her up a notch.
“I don’t consider Gemma a reality TV person, I consider her a superstar.”
This latest attempt to release a song isn’t Gemma’s first time in a studio.
Last year, she stepped into the recording booth to perform a cover of ‘Everybody’s Free to Feel Good’ by Rozalla to promote MTV’s new reality show ‘ReFreshers Week’, and admitted she would love to release an album one day.
She said: “I’ve come out of my mother’s you-know-what singing … I would like to do an album, I would like a Christmas number one, I’m not gonna lie.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Longthorne has died.
The 64-year-old singer and entertainer passed away on Saturday (03.08.19) morning at his home in Blackpool, surrounded by his family, including his husband of 21 years Jamie.
Joe’s family said in a statement: “It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that the nation’s beloved entertainer Joe Longthorne MBE passed away peacefully in the early hours of today at his cherished home in Blackpool.
“Joe died in his bedroom, laying in the arms of his devoted husband of 21 years Jamie, with his rosary beads clutched tight to his chest. He leaves behind sister Ann and brother John. Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Jamie and all the family at this sad time.”
Joe was born on 31st May 1955 in Kingston upon Hull to musical parents, Fred and Teresa. He shot to fame in 1981 as a singer and impressionist on the TV show ‘Search For A Star’. He had a weekly appearance as the Special Guest Star on the Les Dennis ‘The Laughter Show’ series, which led to his first television special.
However, at the pinnacle of his career in 1989, Joe was diagnosed with the blood cancer Lymphoma.
He said at the time: “Cancer is not a word you expect to hear when things are going so well. I felt invincible and suddenly out of the blue I felt helpless. I had two choices, to give in or fight. I chose the latter. I got up dusted myself off and got on with life.”
Eventually the Lymphoma deteriorated into Leukaemia and Joe underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2005. The star made a recovery and embarked on an extensive nationwide tour in 2007.
He has also battled mouth cancer.
In 2010, his autobiography was published and the Variety Club recognised him with a special award of a “Silver Heart” for his extensive charity work.
And in 2012, he was recognised for his extensive charity work with a MBE in The Queens Diamond Jubilee Birthday Honours List.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel’s ‘OK (Anxiety Anthem’) was her most difficult song to write.
The 23-year-old singer/songwriter drew on her own experiences with anxiety and depression to pen the song, which features on her album ‘High Expectations’, and Mabel admitted that emotionally it took a toll.
She said: “It was really difficult for me to write my song OK (Anxiety Anthem) because it was about dealing with my anxiety and looking at it in a positive light.
“I always say it took a day to write the song, but the actual process was longer than the making of the whole album, because it’s about me actually coming to terms with my anxiety.”
Mabel has been working on the album for over two years but didn’t want to release it until she was completely satisfied with every track.
She told the Belfast Telegraph: “It’s been a two-year process making this record. I’ve really put everything into it,” she says.
“Some of the songs are old to me now and I’ve been performing them live for a while, but I can’t wait for people to sing them back to me.
“It is nerve-racking and quite emotional because I’m really attached to it.
“It’s been my identity in many ways for the last few years. It’s been my purpose.”
Mabel’s parents are singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey and she revealed it took some time for her to emerge from their shadow.
She said: “I used to be really afraid that my parents were the only thing that people were going to care about.
“It’s frustrating when you’re making good music and you’re working hard. You’re just like, ‘Why are we talking about this?’.
“But at the same time, I’m really proud of what they’ve accomplished and I’ve got to a point with it where it’s not embarrassing to talk about and it’s not going to take away from me as an artist because they’re amazing people that have accomplished incredible things.
“With the confidence I have now, it doesn’t bother me as much.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine and the Queens was “born out of a crazy desire to finally accept everything”.
The 31-year-old singer – whose real name is Heloise Letissier – says her artistic ambition to be “brutally honest” is “non-negotiable”.
Asked about her approach to songwriting, she explained: “Since I started to write my first song, it’s been non-negotiable: I’m going to be brutally honest.
“Christine and the Queens was born out of a crazy desire to finally accept everything and own everything about myself including the dark thoughts, including sadness, including the impossibility of fitting in. And I wouldn’t shy away from that … which creates a weird balance.
“And honestly, you know, Christine and the Queens was also borne out of something that happened between me and drag queens [she was nursed out of depression by a troupe of drag artists]. Christine is a drag character – it’s really generous and fun and entertaining, but it’s borne out of wounds.”
The singer has been widely called a spokesperson for the LGBTQ community and she’s admitted to feeling a need to speak her mind.
Talking to the BBC, she said: “I think it’s healthier not to see yourself as a spokesperson for anything.
“As an artist, I do believe in visibility, in speaking out. I believe in that very much. But it’s good not to think of yourself as a role model, because it can become so solemn; and a bit pretentious also.”

The 22-year-old singer has posted a note on her Instagram Stories in response to people criticising her body shape, saying that young girls are “growing up in an airbrushed world”.
She wrote on the platform: “Honestly first thing I felt was super insecure just IMAGINING what these pictures must look like, oh no! My cellulite! Oh no! I didn’t suck in my stomach!
“But then I was like… of course there are bad pictures, of course there are bad angles, my body’s not made of f***ing rock, or all muscle, for that matter, but the saddest part of young girls growing up in an airbrushed world is they’re seeking a perfection that’s not real. (sic)”
The brunette beauty explained that she was determined to speak up on behalf of young women around the world.
She said: “I’m writing this for girls like my little sister who are growing up on social media. They’re constantly seeing photoshopped, edited pictures and thinking that’s reality, and everyone’s eyes get used to seeing airbrushed skin, an suddenly they think THAT’S the norm. ?!!! It isn’t. OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud caused a stir on the Thames over the weekend with a live performance of his new single, ‘Hope for the Underrated Youth’.
The 21-year-old singer treated his fans to a performance on a boat before heading up the river to the Houses of Parliament, where lyrics from his politically-motivated new single were projected.
He said: “The world right now tells us fall in line, it tells us what you’re allowed to care about, think about, even to the point what air you should f***ing breathe. Things are changing drastically, a lot of the time not for the better and it’s hard to watch. I meet so many young people everyday and the one common denominator I find is the constant fire to defy apathy and the optimism to do anything in your power to fight for a better, more equal world. This song is about freedom of speech. This song is about freedom of expression. This song is about the forward thinking, racism hating, LGBTQ+, liberal “sinners” that we all are. I see that there is hope for this “underrated youth” and I believe the future looks bright because we are in it.”

Yungblud will also take to the main stage at Reading & Leeds Festival this summer (23rd – 25th August), before heading out to play dates across the US. His UK and European tour will take place this Autumn and includes a show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Aoki is always “yearning” for “appreciation”.
The ‘Are You Lonely’ hitmaker feels it is more important to want to have the appreciation from his fans rather than money in his bank account.
He told Forbes magazine: “As long as my train is moving and the momentum is going, I’m good. And because I know that, I don’t stop. Because the second I do this and I’m like, ‘I’m just going to chill,’ someone else is going to jump on my train and start driving. At the end of the day, besides having whatever I have in the bank or whatever great investments I’ve worked, the things I create and that I offer to people, that is where I feel the most appreciation about my purpose of life. I want to have the appreciation. I’m always yearning for it.”
Meanwhile, Steve previously admitted he wasn’t “supposed” to become an EDM superstar.
He said: “This whole arena-filling DJ, electronic musical thing wasn’t supposed to happen. Not at all. I grew up in Miami but moved to Newport Beach, then enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I was a straight edge, vegan punk and a committed activist. I took women’s studies and sociology and went on demos, playing guitar in basements to 20 people. I wanted to change things. I’ve encountered my fair share of prejudice and racism on my way through life and addressing those injustices has long been a passion. OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has reunited with Social House for new song ‘Boyfriend’.
The 26-year-old pop superstar surprised fans by teasing a brief clip on Instagram of her upcoming single produced by the duo – comprised of Michael Foster and Charles Anderson – who previously worked on ‘7 Rings’ and album title track ‘Thank U, Next’ from Ariana’s latest LP, as well as her most recent collaboration with Victoria Monet, ‘Monopoly’.
‘Boyfriend’ will be released on Friday (01.08.19), and the music video for the song has been directed by Hannah Lux Davis – who has worked on promos for the likes of Demi Lovato, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Drake in the past.
Social House also tapped the ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ hitmaker for their song ‘Haunt You’, for which she supplied backing vocals.
Speaking previously about the meaning behind the latter track, the pair said: “It’s probably our most meaningful song.
“We themed our EP and our album off a relationship and it has a hint of the issues that go on in the relationship like sometimes your insecurities … how you may have something beautiful and this amazing thing or person that you love but sometimes you feel insecure because you might not be good enough, you might want to be better for them.”
Ariana is no stranger to talking about relationships in her lyrics, as ‘Thank U, Next’ name drops a number of the singer’s exes, including late rapper Mac Miller and ex-fiance Pete Davidson.
Meanwhile, the ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer, who is currently on her ‘Sweetener World Tour’, finally got her Grammy Award – five months late.
Ariana scooped the Best Pop Vocal Album for her LP ‘Sweetener’ back in February, but she was unable to collect the gong in person because she pulled out of her scheduled performance when she clashed with the Recording Academy’s executive producer Ken Ehrlich just hours before.
Taking to her Instagram account, Ariana uploaded a photograph of her shiny trophy and wrote: “really glad i checked the mail (sic).”
The star’s manager Scooter Braun also celebrated the arrival of the trophy on his social networking sites by praising her as “an icon living.”
He wrote: “This right here is family. I couldn’t have been prouder this week to deliver this one her very first Grammy. The 20-year-old rapper penned a poignant post on his Instagram account after his hit song reached the milestone.
Punctuated with emojis, he wrote on the photo sharing site: “on december 2nd i went into the studio & recorded OLD TOWN ROAD & put it out the exact same day!! did i know it would become the longest running number 1 song of all time? NO!
“but i am so thankful that this blessing has been placed upon me. this song has changed my life and the way i see the world around me in less than a year. thank you to every single person who has been apart of this journey. as i said before, it’s just the beginning! (sic)”
And Lil Nas X also took the opportunity to detail how the song was made.

OHMYGOSSIP — A jury has ruled that Katy Perry’s hit ‘Dark Horse’ copied a Christian rap song.
The 34-year-old pop superstar and her collaborators including, Juicy J – who had a rap verse on the song – and producer Dr. Luke were accused of ripping off the melody from Marcus ‘Flame’ Gray and Chike-Ojukwu’s 2009 song ‘Joyful Noise’ five years ago, and on Monday (29.07.19) a Los Angeles court ruled in their favour.
Katy’s lawyer, Christine Leperad, had argued that the pair were trying to claim copyright for basic elements of the song.
She told the courtroom: “They’re trying to own basic building blocks of music, the alphabet of music that should be available to everyone.”
The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer and the team behind the song – which had six co-writers – testified that they had never heard of Joyful Noise or their Christian music before.
However, Grey’s legal representation, Michael Khan, insisted: “They’re trying to shove Mr Gray into some gospel music alleyway that no one ever visits.”
It was also noted that Katy – who is engaged to actor Orlando Bloom – started her career in church and playing gospel music.
During the trial, the song was meant to be played to the court but the speakers failed, and Katy lightened the tone when she offered to perform the song.
It will be determined how much Katy and her collaborators will have to pay Gray in damages for copyright infringement today (30.07.19).
‘Dark Horse’ was released on Katy’s 2013 LP ‘Prism’ and has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey has congratulated Lil Nas X for overtaking her hit ‘One Sweet Day’ as the longest running number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The viral cowboy rapper’s mega-hit ‘Old Town Road’ jumped ahead of the 49-year-old superstar’s 1995 duet with Boyz II Men, which spent 16 weeks at the top of the chart, as he celebrated his 17th week in the No1 spot.
Mariah tweeted: “Sending love & congrats to
@LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We’ve been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to
@BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life! …
“Thank you for acknowledging this song One Sweet Day will always hold a special place in my heart and I want to thank anyone who’s ever told me how this song has affected them and their loved ones. (sic)”
The 20-year-old star replied immediately and hailed the ‘We Belong Together’ hitmaker a “legend and an icon”, whilst he admitted it was surreal getting a message from his idol.
Retweeting Mariah’s post, he added: “wowwww thank you so much mariah! you are a legend and an icon and i’m blessed to even have you acknowledging me right now! growing up to your music & now having you talk to me directly is unreal! (sic)”
Lil Nas also penned a poignant post on his Instagram account to mark the milestone.

OHMYGOSSIP — Former Maccabees star Orlando Weeks will release a solo album next year.
The British indie rockers – also comprised of Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle – announced their split in August 2016, and now the band’s lead vocalist has announced a series of shows this September to test out his new material in front of a live audience for the first time.
The run kicks off in Glasgow on September 21, and concludes with two intimate shows at London’s Hoxton Hall on September 27 and September 28, and tickets go on sale on Friday (02.08.19) at 9am.
An announcement on his Facebook page reads: “Orlando Weeks is proud to present a run of very intimate performances in the UK this September to mark the start of a new project. Weeks will be performing new solo material, which will be released as an album next year.
“The tour marks the first time Orlando will perform these songs live with a band.
“The shows are an opportunity to hear this new music first, live and in an intimate setting exclusively, ahead of any recorded music being released.
Tickets go on-sale this Friday, August 2nd at 9am local time. (sic)”
Orlando has admitted it hasn’t been an easy ride working on a solo record.
He said: “The album I’ve been working on for the last eighteen months is very nearly done.
“For me, holding my nerve has been a large part of finishing a record, and there’s a certain confidence that comes from discovering a song can survive in a room full of strangers.
“The flip side of that is that you unearth problems you wish had stayed buried.
“There’s every chance it won’t work, but that’s the gamble.”
Announcing their disbandment in a group statement, they said: “After 14 years as a band we have decided to call it a day. The decision has obviously been an incredibly difficult one, given that The Maccabees has been such a huge part of our lives until now. We are very proud to be able to go out on our own terms, at our creative peak and off the back of the best and biggest shows we have ever done. There have not been fallings out and we are grateful to say that we are not leaving the group behind as a divided force. It has been a rare and absolutely incredible time that we all feel very lucky to have shared.
“Love to anyone who has ever stood by our band, bought our records, come and seen us play, or cared and contributed in whatever capacity it may have been. We have always valued it immeasurably, tried to honour it as best we could and can only say thank you to you all very deeply and sincerely … There will be some farewell celebration shows announced in the near future.
“Once again, especially to fans of The Maccabees, thank you for the countless good times that we will never forget. Take care and we will be in touch soon.”
The ‘Toothpaste Kisses’ hitmakers also said they would all continue to make music in some capacity going forward.
They added: “Though there are no concrete plans at this stage, we are all planning to continue making music.
“We are excited about the future and intend to move on, with some sadness, but with appreciation, affection and huge pride at the music we have made and all that we have achieved together.”
The Maccabees formed in 2002 and released four albums; 2007 debut ‘Colour It In’, ‘Wall of Arms’ in 2009, 2012’s ‘Given to the Wild’ and ‘Marks To Prove It’, which came out in July 2015.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tool’s first album in 13 years is called ‘Fear Inoculum’.
The ‘Vicarious’ rockers – comprising singer Maynard James Keenan, bassist Justin Chancellor, guitarist Adam Jones and drummer Danny Carey – haven’t released a record since 2006’s ‘10,000 Days’ but they have now unveiled the details of their new record, which is released a month today (30.08.19).
Alongside a moving piece of artwork, the band wrote on Instagram: “FEAR INOCULUM, Aug 30th, 2019 Album Art, Lead Track, and Pre-Order info TBA. Thank you for your patience. (sic)”
Tool also announced their back catalog is coming to streaming services for the first time on Friday (02.08.19).
Justin previously admitted they have been very “picky” about what has made it onto the track list.
Speaking in 2016, he said: “We’re about 90 percent there, it’s been like a crazy science project — kind of like a petri dish.
“We’ve just been really picky over what we want to put on this new album and really want to come up with something completely unique.
“Plus, we have endless amounts of material to sift through, so it’s just been a process… a little different from last time.”
Meanwhile, the band’s frontman recently hit the headlines after he expressed his disappointment that Justin Bieber is a fan of his band.
The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker’s wife Hailey Baldwin hit out at the 55-year-old singer after he claimed it was a “bummer” that the 25-year-old pop star is a long-time follower of his group’s music.
Taking to Twitter, Hailey fired back: “You must be unhappy with yourself that you want to make people feel small who express their admiration for you. Very childish and hurtful thing to do. I hope u find security within yourself. Sad place to be. (sic)”
Maynard posted the comment online after Justin posted lyrics from the band’s 2006 track ‘The Pot’ to his Instagram account after he and Hailey had enjoyed a drive whilst listening to Tool tracks.
Asking his followers if they recognised the lyrics, the ‘What Do You Mean’ hitmaker wrote: “Who are you to wave your finger? / You must have been outta your head / Eye hole deep in muddy waters / You practically raised the dead.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher says his brother Noel Gallagher “deserves what he’s getting” in response to his feud with Lewis Capaldi.
The former Oasis guitarist and the ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker become embroiled in a spat after Noel, 56, claimed to not know who Scottish star Lewis, 22, is and compared him to the Star Wars character Chewbacca, whilst he also labelled his home country as a “third world country”.
Noel had fumed: “F****** Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot.
“It’s the greatest day of his f***** life so far.
“He’s just thinking, “Wow!” Well, I know you’re Scottish and all that, but f***** hell!
“It is like a third world country, but for f***’s sake, man, you must have had a better day than this. Surely!”
After the insult, Lewis instantly changed his Twitter username to Chewis Capaldi and updated his profile picture to him as Chewbacca.
And during his performance at TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, the singer/songwriter came out in a Chewbacca mask in another dig at Noel.
The ‘Grace’ hitmaker had also already appeared in a green parka and matching bucket hat, the Britpop group’s trademark outfits in the 90s, as a clip of Noel saying “Who’s this Capaldi fella?” played on repeat on the screens around The Other Stage during his Glastonbury set in June.
Taking off the parka, Lewis – who also posed for a picture with Liam at the festival – then revealed he was wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with Noel’s face, surrounded by a heart and the whole stunt was in response to the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker’s dismissal of Lewis and his songs in a radio interview that happened before the Worthy Farm gig.
Now Liam – who has been at loggerheads with his sibling since Oasis split in 2009, following a backstage bust-up between the pair – has waded in on their rivalry and said Noel is “getting beaten in a lot of arenas these days”, whilst adding that he “deserves what he’s getting at the moment”.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1’s Chillest Show with Phil Taggart, he continued: “Listen, he wouldn’t mess with me, this Lewis Cap-whatever he’s called because I’m vicious but Zen at the same time.
“I met him (Capaldi) and he was cool and I’m glad he’s sticking it to our kid because our kid started it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kinks will release a 50th anniversary box set of ‘Arthur Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire’ featuring five unreleased tracks and a lost Dave Davies solo album.
Following the reissue of ‘The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society’, the iconic rock group’s seminal 1968 record, in October, the band are following it up with another treat for fans, in the form of a jam-packed version of their seventh studio album, featuring previously unreleased track ‘The Future’ and much more.
Frontman Sir Ray Davies said: “I started ‘Arthur’ before the end of ‘Village Green’.
“The albums piggyback one another because they are joined. I’d already written the song ‘Arthur’.
“I think I wrote ‘Australia’ when I was still living at 87 Fortis Green so it was quite early on. I remember taking it over to Dave, he lived in Cockfosters at the time, and playing it to him.
“We were laughing at the irony in the line, ‘nobody’s got a chip on their shoulder’.”
The four CDs, comprised of a total of 81 tracks, also feature 28 previously unreleased versions of songs.
Among the gems, are two new recordings of Ray with The Doo Wop Choir, ‘Arthur & The Emigrants’, one previously unreleased track, and three previously unreleased ‘The Come Dancing Workshop Ensemble’ recordings, and Ray’s remixes of ‘Australia’ and ‘Shangri-La’.
‘The Great Lost Dave Davies Solo Album’ was record in the middle of the sessions for ‘Arthur’, which was released in 1969.
Dave commented: “One of the reasons the album wasn’t finished was because I felt The Kinks’ management and record company were forcing me too much.
“I felt very comfortable being in The Kinks and it seemed fulfilling to be part of a band. I didn’t really want for more. I couldn’t see the point.”
Ray admitted it was an emotional experience listening to his brother Dave’s solo music again, because he felt like the songs made up the “backstory” of the ‘You Really Got Me’ band.
He added: “Hearing Dave’s songs again after all this time, I found them quite moving because they were like the backstory of what The Kinks were going through at the time.”
The siblings and the group’s former drummer Mick Avory infamously feuded for years, and despite talks of working on a new album with Ray, Dave insisted they still need to “iron out a few” kinks before working together again.
The singer went on a national news channel last year to announce that they had been back in the studio for the first time in 25 years, but Dave admitted it wasn’t entirely true as they’d only discussed the prospect and need to argue out their creative differences first.
He spilled: “I thought, ‘What is Ray bulls***ing about now?'”
However, he added: “We’ve been talking about maybe trying to work on new Kinks material.
“I said, ‘We shouldn’t go public yet because we’ve got to iron out a few things.’
“He said, ‘Yeah.’ Of course, he left and the next thing he’s on TV saying we’re doing it. Typical Ray.”
‘Arthur Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire’ the reissue is released on October 25 via BMG.
