OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Ray Cyrus has revealed “marijuana” was axed from his ‘Old Town Road’ remix.
The country music legend’s suggestion for his feature on the Lil Nas X track was changed by co-writer Jozzy, who swapped the dope word for “Fendi sports bra”.
Speaking on Taste of Country, Billy said: “For some reason, I immediately thought it was funny to say, ‘Baby’s got a habit: diamond rings and marijuana.’ See it is funny. They said, ‘Everything but the marijuana.’ [Jozzy] said, ‘How about Fendi sports bra?’ I thought, ‘It’s probably good because I don’t know what that is. Boom, that kinda happened, we rolled with it in minutes.'”
Miley Cyrus’ father “immediately thought it was a hit” after he heard the original track on social media video app TikTok, and admitted he was worried he wouldn’t be able to hit one of the high notes.
However, he added: “Once I got up there, it was a lot of fun.”
The viral hit was recently named the longest running number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Previous record holder Mariah Carey congratulated Lil Nas X for overtaking her hit ‘One Sweet Day’.
The 49-year-old superstar’s 1995 duet with Boyz II Men spent 16 weeks at the top of the chart.
As he celebrated his 17th week in the No1 spot recently, Mariah tweeted: “Sending love & congrats to
@LilNasX on breaking one of the longest running records in music history! We’ve been blessed to hold this record with a song that means a great deal to
@BoyzIIMen and myself and has touched so many. Keep living your best life! …
“Thank you for acknowledging this song One Sweet Day will always hold a special place in my heart and I want to thank anyone who’s ever told me how this song has affected them and their loved ones. (sic)”
The 20-year-old star replied immediately and hailed the ‘We Belong Together’ hitmaker a “legend and an icon”, whilst he admitted it was surreal getting a message from his idol.
Retweeting Mariah’s post, he added: “wowwww thank you so much mariah! you are a legend and an icon and i’m blessed to even have you acknowledging me right now! growing up to your music & now having you talk to me directly is unreal! (sic)”
Lil Nas also penned a poignant post on his Instagram account to mark the milestone.
Punctuated with emojis, he wrote on Instagram: “on december 2nd i went into the studio & recorded OLD TOWN ROAD & put it out the exact same day!! did i know it would become the longest running number 1 song of all time? NO!
“but i am so thankful that this blessing has been placed upon me. this song has changed my life and the way i see the world around me in less than a year. thank you to every single person who has been apart of this journey. as i said before, it’s just the beginning! (sic)”
In 2017, Mariah’s feat became tied with ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber.

OHMYGOSSIP — 80s’ legend Kim Wilde and her brother Ricky Wilde have penned tunes for the new Steps album.
It looks like fans of the ‘One For Sorrow’ hitmakers won’t have long to wait for the follow-up to their 2017 comeback LP, ‘Tears on the Dancefloor’ – which reached number two in the UK – as work is already underway getting tracks together for the new record.
Ricky told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’ve been writing tunes for the Steps album. I’m really pleased with them.
“Their manager, Pete Loraine, is good mate of mine and a lovely man. We were chatting and he said, ‘The Steps guys are going to be doing some stuff soon, you should come up with a few songs’.
“He gave me the brief and the type of songs that they’re after, so I went into the studio.
“One of the songs I’ve written with Kim.”
Band member Claire Richards – who has been enjoying her own success with the release of her debut solo album ‘My Wildest Dreams’ earlier this year, and a support slot with Celine Dion at British Summer Time Hyde Park in July – previously revealed they are hoping to get the album out by 2020.
The 41-year-old star – who is joined by Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee and Faye Tozer in the 90s’ group – said: “Steps are back together and we are going to record a new album this summer. I think it will probably be out in spring 2020, and hopefully there will be a tour next year as well.
“It’s not easy but we’ve all got incredible partners and families.
“We’re not the only people in the world with children and families, and the kids love it.
“While they’re at an age they still enjoy it and we’re young enough, we’re grabbing every opportunity with both hands.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher offered retired soccer star pal Peter Crouch the chance to be his bass player.
The 38-year-old former England striker has revealed the ex-Oasis singer bizarrely asked if he’d like to join his band, even though he doesn’t know how to play the stringed instrument.
In an interview with Radio Times magazine, Peter said: “Music is a passion of mine. I’d like to get into promoting new bands. Liam offered me a job as a musician the other day.
“He was like: ‘When we do a big gig, just learn the bass to one tune and you can come up and play with us’.
“I said: ‘I’d love to do that but I don’t have any musical talent’.”
Liam’s current bassist is Drew McConnell – who he swiped from rival Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker – who recently performed at Peter’s Crouchfest in London – previously explained he recruited Drew because he’s “f***ing talented”.
Liam knew the 40-year-old musician would be a perfect fit for his band because he has to have been “pretty headstrong” to be The Libertines frontman’s bandmates
He gushed: “I’d never met Drew before and you know – he’s f***ing talented. He’s played with The La’s, Drew, so he’s obviously talented. To keep the f***ing Babyshambles thing going he’s gotta be pretty headstrong, you know what I mean.”
The pair hit it off as they are both “laid back”.
On how he met Drew, he recalled: “I met him and he seemed cool. He’s been very f***ing laid back. There’s been no like ‘look, you’s lot – do ya f***ing thing, here’s your numbers, go and f***ing do it’.”
Pete was the one who confirmed the 46-year-old rocker had stolen Drew from him.
He said: “Stressification on the band front, Drew playing bass guitar for Liam Gallagher’s new tour.”
Liam and Pete have been at loggerheads for years and the ‘Shockwave’ hitmaker says he doesn’t communicate with him.
He said: “No, I’ve only met him once, but that was years ago at the Forum when he was with … what are they called.. fucking, Libertines. It was just ‘hello, you’re really tall and that’. He looked like my mic stand.”
The pair have another mutual person in common as they both have children by 90s indie rocker Lisa Moorish.
The ‘Live Forever’ hitmaker has 21-year-old daughter Molly with the former Kill City singer and Pete has 16-year-old son Astile.
They have feuded several times over the years, one of the most notable though was At V Festival in 2005.
Liam labelled the Babyshambles star “one big c***” on stage after he didn’t turn up for his support slot with Oasis at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, South West England.
He said on stage at the event held in Chelmsford, Essex: “It’s good to see Pete Doherty turned up. One big ****.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Destiny’s Child are reportedly in talks for a major reunion after being inspired by the Spice Girls.
A source has claimed Beyonce and her bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland are plotting a major run of shows in 2020 to mark their 20th anniversary – and there is also rumours of new music on the horizon.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Beyonce has been desperate to get the girls back together with her in the studio.
“She can’t think of a better time than 2020, when they will be marking two decades as one of the world’s biggest all-female groups.
“She saw the success of the Spice Girls tour and wants to replicate that, but far bigger and better.
“Beyonce has been meeting with Kelly and Michelle and discussing what they can do.
“It’s early days but they want to record new music and put it out alongside some of their biggest hits.
“Then they want to do a tour which will be short enough for them to fit it into their schedules, but big enough to make sure all their fans can make a date to see them.
“As well as going around the US they want to play dates in Europe, including the UK.
“They are one of the very few groups where love for them has only grown since they went on hiatus in 2006, so the demand is massive.”
The ‘Survivor’ hitmakers – who split up in 2006 – reunited for two special greatest hits medley sets during Beyonce’s Coachella headline slots at the Indio festival in April 2018.
Each member has had a successful solo career, with Beyonce, 37, having put out six solo albums and recently voicing Nala in Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ remake, as well as releasing the soundtrack LP ‘The Lion King: The Gift’.
Whilst Michelle, 39, and Kelly, 38, have respectively released four studio albums.

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry have reportedly collaborated on a song.
It has been rumoured that the three female stars have a new track on Taylor’s upcoming album, ‘Lovers’.
A fan who attended one of Taylor’s secret listening parties told one of the singer’s fan accounts on Twitter that the trio will perform a track about female empowerment.
Taylor recently ended her feud with Katy and she spoke of how she wanted to make sure things were “solid” between them before letting the public know they were on “good terms” again after they famous fell out when Katy took three of Taylor’s backing dancers for her ‘California Dreams’ world tour before her ‘Red Tour’ had finished in 2013.
She spilled: “She and I have really been on good terms for a while. She sent me a really nice note and an olive branch to the – like an actual olive branch – to my tour when it started, the ‘Reputation’ stadium tour, a while ago. “From that point on we’ve been on good terms.
“Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things, and then we saw each other again and hung out at another party and it was just like something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us. And, you know, she and I have been fine for a while and really on good terms but we didn’t know if we were ever gonna really tell people about it. We wanted to make sure that was solid between us before we ever made the public aware.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release new EP ‘This Is The Place’ on September 27.
The former Oasis star has recorded three new songs for the five-track mini album, including the title track and ‘A Dream Is All I Need To Get By’ and ‘Evil Flower’, along with two remixes.
The new songs feature female backing vocalists and continue Noel’s exploration of psych music.
‘This Is The Place’ follows the release of the ‘Black Star Dancing’ EP in May.
Meanwhile, in March, Pete Townshend claimed the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker had been working with Oasis producer Dave Sardy again.
The Brooklyn-born studio wizard produced the 52-year-old rocker’s former band’s albums ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ in 2005 and ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ in 2008, and the pair last worked together on Noel’s High Flying Birds’ self-titled debut record in 2011.
The Who guitarist revealed that the ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker had been in the studio with Sardy in Los Angeles, as he has also been working with the ‘Pinball Wizard’ rockers on their new record.
In a studio blog post on their official website, Pete wrote: “Dave Sardy our producer went back to LA for a while to work with Noel Gallagher, but he’s back on Monday.”
Sardy – who is also an acclaimed film scorer and has worked with the likes of Paolo Nutini, Macy Gray, The Killers and Royal Blood – is known for producing big ballads.
Noel’s third High Flying Birds LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ saw him team up with producer David Holmes on the psychedelic pop record, but he previously revealed that he plans to release another “traditional” album alongside a new one with Holmes.
He said: “I’ve got a whole backlog of songs, I write all the time so I’ve got plenty of material.
“I’m going to make another record with David in this way but the last one took four years so I’ll probably have to make another one alongside it in the more traditional sense.”
Teasing what his new songs are sounding like, Noel previously described them as “70s disco” records.
The ‘Live Forever’ songwriter ditched the usual lyrical references and guitar chords that made him famous in favour of fresh riffs for him.
He said: “Well, 70s disco … like the beginning of the world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay has teamed up with The Killers star Brandon Flowers on a new collaboration.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the ‘Hold Back The River’ hitmaker and the chart-topping US band’s frontman have co-written the track ‘Easy Distraction’ together.
Although it’s not yet known who will perform what on the song, which they received help from past collaborators Tommy King and Ariel Rechtshaid on.
In May, James – who has released two studio albums, 2015’s ‘Chaos and the Calm’ and last year’s ‘Electric Light’ – surprised fans with the release of the EP ‘Oh My Messy Mind’, which features the song ‘Peer Pressure’ with Julia Michaels.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old star has been supporting Ed Sheeran on his ‘Divide World Tour’ and he’s also done a collaboration with Irish boyband legends Westlife on their upcoming LP ‘Spectrum’, half of which has been co-written with Ed.
Mark Feehily of the band – also comprised of Shane Filan, Kian Egan an Nicky Byrne – recently revealed as well as the lead single ‘Hello My Love’, the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker also worked with producer Steve Mac on five of the other tracks on the record, which is released on September 6.
He said: “He’s done six songs for the album.
“So effectively half the album.
“One day Ed went in the studio and said ‘I just want to write Westlife songs’. It’s been a truly organic coupling.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles reportedly tried to keep his music video shoot a secret by making out it was a mayonnaise advert.
The ‘Kiwi’ hitmaker’s team tried their hardest to keep the major filming for the promo under wraps, but the sheer capacity of Harry’s crew and security and the fact he was spotted by Mexican fans in Lombardo Toledano in Cancun, Mexico, as they filmed scenes at 20 buildings, including a yellow property, gave it away.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The area was swarming with people.
“People in the neighbourhood knew filming couldn’t just be for a mayo advert, as there would never be so much security or such a large crew.
“His team had bought hundreds of bouquets of violet and purple flowers for the video. Harry spent most of time filming inside a yellow house.”
There is no word on what the song that will accompany the music video is called.
The One Direction star’s 2017 self-titled debut – which includes the hit single ‘Sign Of The Times’ – went gold in six countries, including the UK and US.
And the 25-year-old star admitted he had no idea what he was doing the first time round, and wrote a lot of “sh** songs” before arriving at his final track-listing.
He spilled: “I’m making my second album right now, so I’m going to do that [making the right choices], read a lot and see what happens.”
On finding his feet as a solo artist, he added: “I tried to write as much as possible, with as many different people as possible and try and learn as much as I could.
“I guarantee I wrote a lot of really, really bad sh** before I wrote anything good.”
This time round, the heartthrob doesn’t have the pressure of having to fit in a movie role, like he did with ‘Dunkirk’ two years ago.
Though he hinted that he’d just have to manage if another job came up whilst he’s writing his new record.
He said: “When I got the role in ‘Dunkirk’, it happened right at the start of my first album, so I had to stop everything for five months.
“But stuff like that always happens when it happens, so … I’m enjoying not knowing to be honest.”
As it happens, Harry is rumoured to be playing Prince Eric in ‘The Little Mermaid’, although it’s currently only in pre-production.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says it’s “a great thing” that Stormzy headlined Glastonbury.
The ex-Oasis star has revealed his two sons, Sonny, eight, and 11-year-old Donovan – whom he has with wife Sara MacDonald – are massively into the grime star and dance around the house to his recent single, ‘Vossi Bop’.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, he said: “Oh, that’s what my two lads are on about.
“Because they’ll be doing these dances in the kitchen when they’re getting ready for school and I’ll be thinking: ‘What’s a vossi bop?’ I didn’t realise it was to do with grime.”
The 52-year-old rocker says the UK rap scene is having as big an impact as British rock bands Pulp, The Jam and The Kinks had on pop culture, and he applauded the Worthy Farm festival for giving the ‘Crown’ rapper, who grew up on a council estate, the headline slot.
Noel said grime is “as English as Pulp, or The Jam or The Kinks”, and continued: “And it’s their own language, which is a great thing that something born on council estates out of poverty and street culture has got to the main stage at Glastonbury.”
Although, he admitted: “Now, if I’m a 52-year-old father of three living in Maida Vale, then he’s talking street jive to me.
“He’s talking about some guy stabbing him in the back when he was a kid – I’m not humming along to that!”
The ‘Some Might Say’ hitmaker has previously heaped praise on grime artists, including ‘Man’s Not Hot’ hitmaker Big Shaq.
Asked how he discovered the rapper, Noel – who also has 19-year-old daughter Anais with ex-wife Meg Matthews – revealed: “I came back from New York the other day and I was in the kitchen with my two lads who, as you know, are ten and seven.
“I told one of them to take his hoodie off while he’s having his lunch. He said – and I’d never heard it before – he said, ‘Mans not hot’.
“I was like, what? And he went, ‘Mans not hot’. And I went, ‘Who’s not hot?’. And he went ‘Man’.
“He was going on about Big Shaq. I’d never heard of this Big Shaq before, until three days ago. Man it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
“I was watching this Big Shaq feller and I was thinking it can’t be real. It turns out he’s comedian called Michael Dappah. And he’s a genius. He’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on the internet.”
Asked if he’d like to bring him out at his shows, he said: “Oh, I’d love to. If you’re listening Michael, get in touch we’ll do some gigs, it’ll be amazing!”
And Big Shaq accepted, saying: “Yeah I think it will be special for the people, you know. We gotta give them something eplectical and electical and electrical.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel has rescheduled a number of her ‘Mad Love Tour’ dates after being struck down with illness.
The 23-year-old singer’s doctor has advised her against “performing or dancing for long periods of time”, forcing her to move this month’s scheduled shows in the likes of London, Liverpool, Newcastle and Bristol to November.
She wrote on Facebook: “So gutted to say that due to illness I won’t be able to play the dates of my ‘Mad Love Tour’ with HMV as my doctor has advised against me performing/dancing for long periods of time. The ‘Mad Love Tour’ will still be happening in November and all tickets are valid for the new dates. Thank you so much for understanding, love you guys and hope I get to make it up to you soon. Love, M x (sic)”
She will now perform in Newcastle on November 19th, Bristol on November 25th, London on November 26th, and Liverpool on November 28th.
The tour is to celebrate the release of her album ‘High Expectations’, which drops on Friday (02.08.19).
Last week, Mabel opened up about suffering from “crippling” anxiety and depression as a child and teenager.
She said: “I got to about six years old when my parents realised it was crippling…That’s when music came into it and I started playing piano and journaling. I feel so lucky because I grew up with parents who understand it. They would listen to all my anxieties. Talking about it stopped me from catastrophising. They didn’t see it as a negative I needed to get rid of.
“Music has always been my therapy. The first 12 years of my musical relationship was very much for myself; it was like a journal. I was a teen who had a lot of anxiety and depression.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s new song ‘Boyfriend’ is “uplifting”.
The 26-year-old singer has collaborated with the Social House on her new single, which she says is about “being afraid to take the leap” in a relationship.
She wrote on Twitter: “well, i feel like this song captures a common theme in the lives of so many people i know ! people want to feel love but don’t want to define their relationship & have trouble fully committing or trusting or allowing themselves to fully love someone. even tho they want to … right? we wanted to make something uplifting that captures that feeling of being afraid to take the leap & trust, being afraid of being hurt or feeling like you won’t be enough for that person … but also how it feels to have a crippling crush on someone. (sic)”
Ariana previously admitted performing her own songs is “hell”.
The ‘god is a woman’ hitmaker was responding to a fan who wrote “Music is your therapy and I love seeing it heal you”, in a now-deleted tweet: “Making it is healing. Performing it is like reliving it all over again and it is hell.”
Fans then rushed to social media to insist she didn’t need to continue with her worldwide Sweetener tour, however, whilst she admitted she was “confused and tired”, she insisted she “won’t do that.” When asked by a fan if touring was good for her health, she replied: “I don’t think it is.”
And in an open message to her fans, she told them: “honestly. it’s been v hard. i have [so much] on my mind and it’s so heavy …
“but i’m trying hard. i just feel empty and i wanna have more to say / better energy to give to u and rn i don’t have anything. love u. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ella Eyre’s new single is about exposing exes to their mothers after they have treated her badly.
The 25-year-old singer says her new tune ‘Mama’ has been inspired by past relationships and is all about telling her ex-boyfriends’ mothers what exactly they have been up to.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “‘Mama’ is about when you date somebody and you get really close with their family and then, when they do you wrong and break-up, the family never quite know what they did or what happened or why it broke up.
“So Mama is about exposing the guy to their mum.”
She added to the Metro newspaper: “You know when the mum loves you so much and when you break up the guy is like, ‘She was a bitch?’ It’s about letting them know the truth about their son.”
And when Ella – who has previously dated John Newman and Rixton’s Lewi Morgan – was asked if the song is inspired by her own life, she said: “100 per cent”.
Last month, it was revealed that Ella had landed a record deal with Island Records.
The ‘Just Got Paid’ hitmaker is relaunching her solo career after joining the major label but previously admitted she doesn’t want to feel “pressurised” into releasing a full-length album.
She said: “An album is a long way off. We are not in an album market. I don’t want to feel pressurised into releasing an album just because it was three years since my last one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel’s ‘High Expectations’ was inspired by her mental health issues.
The 23-year-old singer/songwriter has bared her soul on her debut album and admitted she still struggled with anxiety and confidence issues when making it.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I had to examine myself and put myself back together. Growing up I’d had lots of confidence issues.
“They were crippling. Even up to the point of making the album, I still had confidence issues and problems with anxiety.
“But making the album, I came out the other side. Now I am OK with all of it. I started to believe in myself and deal with my negative thoughts. I wrote a song called ‘OK (Anxiety Anthem’) which is the most important track on the record as it’s the one that made everything happen.
“I’d had a low day and was meant to be working with MNEK that day. I was embarrassed and felt like I’d failed so I started to write how I felt and that became the song. Now when I feel like that, I know how important it is to open up and talk.”
And Mabel credits her parents, singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey, with helping her with her anxiety issues and encouraging her music career.
She said: “I was a real worrier when I was little. I had big questions from a very young age and I carried the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was always catastrophising things and my parents were so helpful.
“They encouraged me to express my thoughts, so I started a journal. When I started playing piano, I connected my journals and feelings with the chords and wrote songs. But I would never perform them until I was 18.”

The 31-year-old Swedish singer/songwriter will drop her new record ‘Sunshine Kitty’ on September 20th and she has promised fans that they are in for a treat.
She wrote on Instagram: “#sunshinekitty will finally be out in the world on september 20th! you can pre-order and pre-save it now (link in bio). It’s filled with songs about naive love, teen crushes, future fears and being a vulnerable weirdo. I’m so proud of this album, and so grateful to everyone involved!! COUNTING DOWN (sic).”
The star – whose full name is Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson – recently revealed that the title of her upcoming record was a play on “pussy power” and was inspired by a joke on TV show ‘Girls’ where Lena Dunham’s character admires Hannah Horvath admires Shailene Woodley’s glow.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nipsey Hussle is among the collaborators on Rick Ross’ new album.
Rick is preparing to release ‘Port of Miami 2’, the follow up to 2017’s ‘Rather You Than Me’, on August 9th and he has revealed that the late Nipsey – who was shot dead in the parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing, in South Los Angeles in March – will feature on the record.
Revealing the record is named after his 2006 debut ‘Port of Miami’, Rick wrote on Instagram: “‘Port of Miami’ started me on this journey. It’s only right I bring it back to where it all started. For my day ones to the new ones, this album is for you.”
The tracklist revealed that Nipsey and Teyana Taylor collaborated on a track for the album.
Other contributors include Meek Mill, Drake, Swizz Beatz, Wale and Jeezy.
In June, the BET Awards laid out a blue carpet in tribute to Nipsey – who was known for wearing blue outfits on stage.
He was posthumously given the Humanitarian award and also won Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
The late star’s girlfriend Lauren London took to the stage to accept the gongs.
She said: “Thank you guys for all the love and support.”
And in a nod to his Marathon Clothing store he was shot in front of, she added: “The Marathon continues again.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has released a new ‘Care Package’ compilation album, featuring unreleased tracks.
The ‘God’s Plan’ rapper took to Instagram this week to announce he was dropping the new compilation, which gathers loose songs and tracks from throughout his career.
Posting on social media on Thursday (01.08.19) to announce the release, Drake wrote: “Available Friday on all platforms. Some of our most important moments together available in one place. Care Package.”
The surprise project includes fan favourite tracks such as ‘Can I’ – which was leaked around the time ‘Views’ came out – ‘Girls Love Beyonce’, and ‘Paris Morton Music’.
Drake’s album also includes features from J. Cole, James Fauntleroy and Rick Ross.
The album comes just a few months after the 32-year-old musician – whose real name is Aubrey Graham – re-released his 2009 album ‘So Far Gone’, finally making the 10-year-old project available to stream on all platforms.
‘Care Package’ follows Drake’s critically acclaimed 2018 album ‘Scorpion’, and comes as he previously promised fans a new album would be coming in 2019.
Speaking toward the end of his ‘Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour’ alongside trap trip Migos, Drake said he planned to head straight into the studio once he’d given himself a “little break” at the end of the tour.
He said on stage: “Okay, six shows left. I guess, you know, I guess – I’m gonna tell you what I’m going to do. Because I keep having nights like this that remind me why I love my job so much, I promise you that as soon as this tour is over and maybe I take a little break, I’m gonna get right to work on a new album so we can be back right here in Edmonton and have a new party.”
