OHMYGOSSIP — Kelsea Ballerini is writing the most “heartbreaking” songs she’s ever written now she is married.
The ‘I Hate Love Songs’ hitmaker tied the knot with Morgan Evans in December 2017 and she admits she is writing the most sad songs of her career now because she finally “understands” what went wrong in her past relationships.
She said: “I think now that I’m married, it gives me such a perspective on the other relationships that failed me. I’m writing the most heartbreaking songs I’ve ever written because I understand what went wrong before now. I think the older I get … the more confident I feel about writing that kind of stuff. I write my songs, and I play guitar, and I write about what I’m going through. I’m just really excited to clean the slate again.”
And the 25-year-old country singer can’t believe all the achievements she has already had in her career.
She told the Nashville Tennessean newspaper: “I’m a 4 year old when it comes to this. ‘m a baby. Doing an arena tour and joining the Grand Ole Opry, those are two things I didn’t think would be on my horizon for a long time, if ever. It makes me really grateful, but it also makes me want to earn it just in case it was early. I want to make sure the music I make … that I have this intentional time to make right now, is worthy of being an Opry member and worth of being in an arena.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth is releasing a new song, ‘I Warned Myself’.
The 27-year-old singer has unveiled his new track – which will be the first of three releases – and it will be out on August 21.
He wrote on Twitter: “I WARNED MYSELF – 21 AUGUST … I WARNED MYSELF” IS OUT WEDNESDAY. THE VIDEO COUNTDOWN STARTS AT 8AM WEDNESDAY ON YOUTUBE. (sic)”
Back in 2016, Charlie had promised to keep giving his fans new music and wanted to release a new album every year.
He said: “I’m going to put out an album a year, I don’t want to go missing for four years and be all mysterious. I want to be the people’s artist … I want to keep giving them music, so they can make memories … and I can pay off my house. I don’t love travelling, but I write better music when I’m on the move, when I’m comfortable.”
And Charlie had previously confessed he uses his good friend’s stories to inspire his music rather than rely on his own experiences.
He shared: “I remember a conversation I had had with my friend. He had just broken up with this girl, and I was like, ‘So, are you going to talk to her anymore?’ And he was like, ‘Nah, we don’t talk anymore.’
“I was trying to cheer him up, so I did a dumb little face, and I was like, (singing) ‘We don’t talk anymore.’ It became a cool melody, and I realised that this guitar beat fit perfectly over it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prodigy are working on their first new music since the tragic death of Keith Flint.
The founding member of the group sadly passed away last March, aged 49, and songwriter and producer Liam Howlett has confirmed the ‘Firestarter’ hitmakers have been back in the studio recently.
Alongside a studio snap posted on the band’s official Facebook page on Tuesday (20.08.19), Liam – who is joined by Maxim in the group – wrote: “Back in the studio making noise .. brand new Prodigy tunes are gonna roll , boooom
#theprodigy #weliveforthebeats #weliveforever #cantstoptherock (sic)”
It’s currently not known whether Keith will make a posthumous appearance on any of the new tunes.
The body of The Prodigy frontman was discovered at his Essex home and Chelmsford Coroner’s Court heard Flint died from hanging and had unspecified amounts of cocaine, alcohol and codeine in his system at the time.
Police attended the singer’s home at the time and found there were no suspicious circumstances and there was no third party involvement.
The senior coroner for Essex, Caroline Beasley-Murray, recorded an open conclusion, stating there was not enough evidence to rule the musician’s death as suicide.
Following Keith’s death, the band cancelled all of their planned tour dates, including a slot at Glastonbury festival, over two decades since they became the first dance act to headline to legendary music festival in 1997, and one decade after their last appearance in 2009.
They tweeted: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young is a “control freak” when it comes to his music.
The ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ hitmaker’s favourite recording engineer John Hanlon has revealed that Neil is a stickler for having things done his way and admits it is “foolhardy” to even think about saying something because Neil is “10 steps ahead”.
He told the New York Times magazine: “He wants the honesty of what went down, not some pasted-together overdubbed representation that’s not the truth. He’s a control freak. If he wants your opinion, he’ll ask for it. If he doesn’t, it’s foolhardy to wade in. He’s 10 steps ahead of you in his thought process.”
Neil created his own online music archive, which features his entire back catalogue along with “unreleased albums”.
He wrote: “Every single, recorded track or album I have produced is represented. View all albums currently released and see albums still unreleased and in production just by using the controls to zoom through the years. Unreleased album art is simply pencilled in so you can where unreleased albums will appear on the timeline, once they are completed.”
And the site will be constantly updated with new information.
Speaking back in 2017 before its launch, he explained: “We have attempted to highlight the creative process and the creators. A lot of people and work are behind the music we hear. The musical information found here is a work in progress, always growing and adapting to new information as we find it.
“We have done our best to find all of the background pertinent to this music. The NYA Timeline shows you when and how the music was made. Every single, recorded track or album I have produced is represented. It is always current. You can browse through the music I made between today’s date and 1963, when I made my first recording in Canada and it was released as a 45 RPM single.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Evans is to release an album of musical covers this Christmas.
The ‘Beauty and the Beast’ star impressed fans with his singing in the 2017 live-action remake of the Disney classic in his role as Gaston, and now the Welsh actor looks set to give his followers a special treat this festive season, as he is reportedly due to enter the studio to record his own renditions of popular show tunes in September.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Luke is hugely talented and record execs saw an opportunity to cash in on his film following. He will be in the studio next month.”
The 40-year-old actor previously admitted he almost turned down the role of Gaston because he wasn’t sure about the part, but the fact there was singing made it more appealing to him, as he is most “comfortable” when he’s belting out a tune.
He said: “It took a couple of tries by my agents to get me in for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ because I hadn’t really watched the animated movie for a very long time and I had forgotten how great the journey of Gaston is.
“You see all the facets of the character, from the loveable rogue to the buffoon to the jealous, revengeful sort of monster that he becomes by the end of the movie.
“So, it actually took me sitting down and watching the cartoon with my godchildren which made me see how brilliant the role was and that I totally should do it.
“If there’s one thing I’m comfortable doing in this life it’s singing. It’s like therapy to me. I’ll sing to anybody at any time, at anything, I will just sing. I love to sing. It was a joy for me to finally get to do it on the big screen in such a wonderful vehicle as ‘Beauty and the Beast’, playing this character with those songs. It was magic.”

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA has been working with Justin Timberlake and Brockhampton on her second album.
The 28-year-old singer/songwriter – whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe – has revealed she recently hit the studio with Justin, and although it was an unlikely pairing, SZA was surprised by how well their voices harmonised together.
Speaking about her session with the ‘Cry Me A River’ hitmaker in a video interview with Kerwin Frost, she said: “We made a really cool song and I couldn’t believe it.
“We’re on the same label [RCA Records] I heard, which I didn’t know until yesterday.
“And he was like, ‘I wanna work with you’ and I was like, ‘Why?’ And he was like, ‘Shut up, let’s just make stuff.’ And we did and it was really great.
“When I heard his music and we started singing together and the harmonies and the note choices that we were finding together, it’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language.'”
As well as boyband Brockhampton, SZA has also been in the studio with producer Jack Antonoff for the follow-up to 2017’s ‘CTRL’.
The ‘All The Stars’ hitmaker previously teased her as-yet-untitled second record is her “best” yet and suggested it might be her last full studio release.
She admitted: “My world got so much smaller so fast. I have so much to write about.
“I feel like I’m in a cage
“I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that … because it’s going to be my last album.”
However, it was not the first time the ‘Supermodel’ hitmaker had discussed potentially retiring from music.
Speaking two years ago, she said: “[I have a] short attention span, and I don’t like to do things when they aren’t fun or I can’t grow anymore. “This is a space where I feel like I’m growing and having a good time. I’m learning a lot, but sometimes it gets to be a lot and I feel like I can’t grow in this space. Like, I have to do something different to grow.”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Guetta has paid a touching tribute to his long-time collaborator Fred Rister.
The French superstar’s musical partner – who produced The Black Eyed Peas hit single ‘I Gotta Feeling’ – has sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 58.
Guetta worked with Rister from the early 2000s, and the pair co-wrote 2009’s Grammy-winning single ‘When Love Takes Over’ featuring Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland.
The EDM star has hailed his close friend and colleague a “talented humble generous and discreet human being (sic)”.
Alongside a picture of the pair, Guetta wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (20.08.19): “Today someone really special for me left . @fredristermusic and I shared some of the most important and beautiful moments of my life producing records together like ‘I Gotta A Feeling’ that stayed 16 weeks number one in America, ´Memories’ or ´When Love Takes Over’. Those records have changed dance music culture but also pop music. I remember each second of it ; from choosing chords together to working on drum sounds for hours, learning together and from each other. He was the most loyal person I met and they are so rare in this world, such a talented humble generous and discreet human being. (sic)”
Guetta admitted he was feeling “very lonely” and was “crying” in bed after hearing the sad news.
He continued: “We were always here for each others; for music and for life like it is in an ideal family when you trust someone with no limit.
I feel very lonely right now crying in my bed but I guess it s better this way as his cancer was making him suffer a lot. Rest in peace my friend I’ll keep playing our music and I’ll think of you every time. We lived our dreams and way beyond and I’m forever thankful. (sic)”
According to various reports, Rister had stopped his treatment for cancer in 2017.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dev Hynes has announced his first classical album.
The 32-year-old producer – who releases music under the moniker Blood Orange – has worked on 13 tracks for the record ‘Fields’, which is set for release on October 11, and features the Chicago-based Third Coast Percussion ensemble.
The classically trained musician said: “This was the first time I’ve written music that I’ve never played, and I love that.
“It’s something I’ve always been striving to get to. Seeing what Third Coast Percussion had done with these pieces was magical.”
Dev’s classical debut will follow the release of his recent EP, ‘Angel’s Pulse’, released in July, which he mixed and produced himself.
Alongside the artwork, he wrote on Instagram: “”Angel’s Pulse” (mixtape). Produced arranged & mixed by me. Friday 12th July (in 4 days) (sic)”
Dev explained that he always has a bunch of tracks that never see the light of day after he releases an album and he usually doesn’t bother releasing them, but this time he decided to let his fans hear the “epilogue” to his studio effort.
He said in a statement: “I have a habit through the years of making records that I just give to friends, or on tape to people on the street, or no one.
“Usually this material is made directly after the album I’ve just put out.
“Somewhat of an epilogue to the thing I’ve made before. This time … I decided to release it.
“I put as much work and care into it as I do with the albums I’ve released, but for some reason trained myself into not releasing things the rate at which I make them.
“I’m older now though, and life is unpredictable and terrifying … so here you go mates.”
Dev returned last year with his fourth record, ‘Negro Swan’, which focused on his difficult childhood growing up in Essex, England, as one of few African immigrants at the time.
He said previously: “If ‘Freetown’ was delving into my parents from my eyes, being younger and now, this one is definitely me looking at my younger self, growing up in that setting. So yeah, it’s a little dark.”
As well as releasing his own music, Dev has produced tracks for the likes of Charli XCX, Solange Knowles, Kylie Minogue and Haim.

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish says being “strong-willed” has helped her to avoid being “used and manipulated” in the music industry.
The 17-year-old singer/songwriter has opened up about her first meeting with music management when she was 13 years old, and recalls people saying she is “going to be used” in the industry and look at her as if to say she was going to have a “horrible career”.
She said: “There has been a whole world of young, especially female artists, and every artist (not just young) being used and manipulated by the stereotypical label or industry.
“There’s kind of this weird name on everything now where it’s like, people expect that.
“I remember the first time I had any sort of meeting with a label or management, I was 13. I think the only people that didn’t look at me like I was going to have a horrible career were the people that I ended up working with. Everyone was just like, ‘Oh, you’re 13, yikes, you’re going to be used,’ and this and that.
“And I am like, ‘Yo, y’all are the people that would use me in the situation you are talking about.’ So, I don’t know what that is supposed to mean. The only people who didn’t say that s**t were the people that I felt an energy and connection with.”
But Billie feels “really lucky and grateful” with the support she has received from her team, because she has “never had any issues” with people attempting to “pull her in different directions”.
Speaking to Pharrell Williams for V Magazine, she added: “I am really, really lucky and grateful that I have had the experience that I had with my label and with my team and everyone, because I never had any issues with people trying to pull me in a different direction, one in which I would not want to be headed.
“I think that might just be because I have always been the kind of person that knows what the f**k I want, and if it’s not what I want, then I am not going to do it.
“It’s really helped me and I think I describe it in different ways where it’s like, I think it’s my best quality and my worst quality, how strong-willed I am, because it has brought me here.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl would love to be on the new Queens of the Stone Age record – but he isn’t.
The Foo Fighters frontman has responded to claims he’s featured on Josh Homme and co’s eighth studio effort – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Villains’ – and insisted that when he hangs out with Josh they just ride motorcycles and eat waffles together.
He told NME: “You know, I never f***ing mentioned that I’m on the new Queens record.
“I’m not on the new Queens record.
“You know what Josh and I have been doing together? Riding motorcycles and eating waffles. That’s it. Let me tell you, it’s a fun morning.
“We’ve done it more than a few times and it’s pretty f***ing great.”
The 50-year-old rocker – who played drums in QOTSA between 2001 and 2002 – would however jump at the chance to record with the ‘No One Knows’ band.
He added: “I f***ing love playing with Josh.
“He’s one of my best friends, but at the moment it’s just motorcycles and waffles.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Learn to Fly’ hitmaker recently teased possible new music from his other project, Them Crooked Vultures.
The former Nirvana sticksman claimed there is still possibility for new music as they are “still a band”.
Dave said: “Technically we’re still a band.
“We practise once every decade, and we’re coming up on another decade, aren’t we? I don’t have any official news but there’s always something cooking.”
The songwriter and his band have been teasing new music since 2011 – but with nothing to play for their fans so far.
The rock supergroup – founded by Dave and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones – released their debut album in 2009 and haven’t released music since.
However, Dave still can’t get his head around the idea of forming a band with an iconic star
He said: “There are times when you’ve relaxed into a sofa and you’re not thinking about his time in Led Zeppelin. Then you start playing and you’re immediately reminded that you are a musical speck compared to this man.
“It’s still hard to accept that I got to play in a band with that guy.”
Josh, the lead singer of both Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures, remains one of Dave’s best friends to this day.
The musical duo met during Nirvana’s peak years when Josh was in Kyuss.
Dave said: “Josh is one of my best friends. We’re like brothers. We go out and have waffles together. We ride motorcycles.
“There is nobody I’d rather play drums with. He’s the guy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters are planning to release a new album next year.
The US rockers’ drummer Taylor Hawkins has confirmed the group “should” drop their 10th studio album by 2020, and revealed frontman Dave Grohl has “a lot of demos” he has worked on.
He said: “Well, from what I’ve heard from our fearless leader Dave Grohl, he has a lot of demos that he’s worked on and I think we’ll start, once this tour is over. This little UK-ish run.
“I think not too soon after that we’ll start the process of putting the songs together as a band.
“It’s a long process, we do a lot of demoing and stuff, but I think that we’ll have, I’m hoping, I think we’ll have a new record by next year. We should.”
Taylor revealed the Foos are likely to play “a lot” of material from their debut self-titled record, which was released in 1995, at the upcoming Reading and Leeds festivals, and he is keen to play ‘Aurora’ from 1999 record ‘There Is Nothing Left to Lose’.
Speaking in a video on Rock Sound’s YouTube channel, the stickman – who joined the band in 1997 – added: “I wouldn’t mind playing ‘Aurora’, and I wouldn’t mind playing anything off the first record. Before I was in the band.
“I think we’ll do a lot of the first record.
“The Reading and Leeds festivals are very important to the band.”
The group will play at Reading and Leeds over the August 23-25 weekend, and they recently asked fans what they want to hear them play at the festivals.
The ‘Monkey Wrench’ hitmakers wrote on Twitter: “So what songs do you wanna hear? #RandL19 (sic)”
Foo Fighters released their ninth studio album ‘Concrete and Gold’ in 2017.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anitta shared an emotional tribute to her idol Mariah Carey, after the star followed her on Instagram.
Brazilian singer, songwriter and actress Anitta, 26, revealed she has been a huge fan of the ‘Hero’ singer since she was young as her two aunts were “obsessed” with Mariah and she credits the star as her inspiration for deciding to become a musician.
Anitta wrote on Instagram: “That’s my family waking me up today telling me @mariahcarey followed me. For the ones who don’t know, my 2 aunts and my mom were obsessed about her. So when I was born I was the best student ever for them and became an even better fan. That’s why I started to say I wanted to be a singer so early in life. My uncle use to present us every Christmas with a new MC cd and we always use to celebrate going craaaaaazy. (Cuz in that time we didn’t have money to buy ourselves). So this one and only cd of hers of the year used to spend one week in each of us’ houses. And I use to go to their houses with the cd to keep listening lol. (When I got money I bought 2 of each cd for us so we could listen as much as we wanted.)
“When she came to Brazil, we didn’t have money to go see. I remember me listening to her concert on the radio crying cuz I wasn’t there. My birthday is 2 days after hers and sometimes we use to celebrate her birthday with mine lol. When I could finally have enough money to travel all the family to see her show, everytime I tried some sh*t happened and we couldn’t make it (sorry for some empty front seats u must have seeing sometimes. After Mariah, 49, saw the emotional message, she penned a sweet note back to the singer and her family.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Del Rey originally wanted to be in a band.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter confessed that before she was launched into the spotlight, she wanted to be the lead singer of a group but was discouraged by her label and management who “absolutely” wanted her to be a solo artist.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Culture magazine, she said: “I wanted to be a band, but the label I was with and the team I had around me absolutely wanted me to be a solo artist.”
The ‘Lust For Life’ hitmaker went on to speak about her forthcoming sixth studio album which is titled ‘Norman F****** Rockwell’ after the renowned painter and illustrator whose works were known for their reflection of American culture.
The ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer went on to explain that the album and its name were influenced by the “creative types” in her own life.
She said: “[The album] is about this guy who is a genius artist, but he knows it and won’t shut up about it.
“So often I have ended up with these creative types, and they just go on. And I’m, like, ‘Yeah, yeah’, but there’s merit to that, also.
“They are so good. And I just like the track so much, I went, ‘OK, I want the record to be called that too.'”
Lana, whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, also revealed the inspiration behind her pseudonym, explaining that she wanted a glamorous name to reflect the slow and sultry style of her music.
She said: “My music is cinematic, so we wanted a name that reflected the glamour of the sound.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl loves Buckfast wine and downed a bottle after his Glasgow show.
The Foo Fighters frontman was filmed by lead singer of The Van T’s, Hannah Van Thompson, necking a bottle of the strong tonic wine following his performance at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on Saturday night (17.08.19) and revealed that he wouldn’t dream of leaving the city without a bottle as it’s his “favourite drink”.
Speaking in an Instagram video, Hannah said: “Dave Grohl what do you think of the Buckfast?”
The 50-year-old musician replied: “I wasn’t going to say anything but I wasn’t going to leave the city without at least one bottle of this.
“It’s my favourite drink.”
The video, which was filmed in a car following the gig, was captioned: “WOW. Thank you @foofighters For the best gig of our life’s. What an amazing experience. THANK YOU TO everyone for coming down so early to see us. REALLY blown away at how lovely you all are!!!!!

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna has registered new music.
The 31-year-old singer – who released her last album ‘Anti’ in 2016 – has recently registered a new song called ‘Private Loving’ with her music publisher BMI.
The song was reportedly written by Rihanna and Jamaican reggae artist Demarco.
While fans are desperate for Rihanna to drop her ninth album, the star recently said she’s still working on recording the new material, so doesn’t have a release date in mind yet.
When asked how much longer fans would have to wait, she said: “I wish I knew. I have blocked off a solid period of time for the studio next month.”
The ‘Work’ hitmaker added it is disappointing that she can’t just put her new music out into the world, but insisted she doesn’t want to rush the material.
She added: “It really does suck that it can’t just come out, because I’m working on a really fun one right now. I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete. It makes no sense to rush it, but I want it out. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m like, “Even if I don’t have the time to shoot videos, I’m going to put an album out.'”
Rihanna also admitted her business empire is partly to blame for the lengthy time between records now, as she is dividing her energy between her music career and her fashion and beauty lines.
She said: “It’s the reason why an album isn’t being spat out like it used to. I used to be in the studio, only the studio, for three months straight, and an album would come out. Now, it’s like a carousel. I do fashion one day, lingerie the next, beauty the next, then music the next. It’s like having a bunch of kids and you need to take care of them all.”

The Slipknot frontman has hit back after some politicians linked the recent spate of mass shootings in the USA to popular culture and he said they are trying to deflect from “gun culture”.
In an interview with Rock Feed, Corey said: “I think they’re idiots. I think those people subscribe to the ‘three Ds of politics,’ which is ‘deny, detract and deflect.’ And it’s exactly what it is. As soon as guns came into play again, the first thing that the GOP and the gun lobby did was find anything but the gun itself to deflect… It was the video games; it was the heavy metal music; it was the mental illness — it was all of these things.
“Now, never mind the fact that one of the first things that Trump did when he got into office was take away those prohibitions against people with mental illness, with a history of mental illness, being able to buy a firearm. But now suddenly that’s biting you in the ass.”
And he went on to point out that other countries do not have the same problems as America when it comes to guns, despite also having heavy metal music.
He explained: “Well, now it’s the video games. There are video games all over the world; people don’t have that problem. Well, it’s the heavy metal music. Well, there’s heavy metal music all over the world as well, in a lot of countries, and a lot of them darker than ours is. They don’t have that problem.
“I may bend one way or the other, but I don’t subscribe to one party over the next. My problem is the fact that innocent people are dying. And until people can really see that, yes, you can be a responsible gun owner and see that there is a gun problem, until people can admit that, until people on the left can admit that not everyone who owns a gun is a f**king killer, none of us are gonna talk, and that’s the problem. The problem is that there are too many guns. If you oversaturate an industry or a culture with something, nine times out of 10, it tends to go away. But that’s not the case with guns, because of the way we have deified it. We now have this thing where if you try to get rid of some of the guns, it’s instantly a threat. And to me, that smacks of addiction. Think about that. Do you really believe in gun rights or are you just addicted to the way that you feel when you have them?”
