OHMYGOSSIP — Blossoms’ upcoming album is “bandy with a few more guitars”.
Tom Ogden and co have switched it up once again for their third studio album – the follow-up to their 2018’s synth-heavy ‘Cool Like You’ and their 2016 self-titled debut – which has been built around their live show.
Tom told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We have just finished recording and hopefully it will be out over the next few months.
“It doesn’t sound like the other two.
“The second one was synth heavy and this one is more real again.
“You know ‘bandy’ with a few more guitars, a bit of piano sprinkled over it and there’s a lot of live precision.”
The ‘Charlemagne’ rockers – completed by Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock – released the single ‘Your Girlfriend’ in June and its B-side ‘Torn Up’, and the band have continued working with The Coral’s James Skelly, who is in charge of production.
Tom says their dream is to play “bigger” shows and he admitted that if they ever fell out as friends, they wouldn’t want to continue as a band.
He said: “As long as we get on we will still keep going.
“Radio seems to be picking up for us and we like playing live and want shows to get bigger.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Honey Sweet’ rockers have just created their own beer, Blossoms’ SK-Brew, which will be available at their headline Goose Island Hop Party gig at Oval Space in London on Saturday (07.09.19).
And the frontman can’t wait to play to an intimate crowd.
He said: “We did a beer when we launched our first album. Then the opportunity came to do this one, also paired with the fact you get to play to an intimate crowd in London. We like those club shows; sweaty ones which remind us of our start.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello is set to release the “first instalment” of her new romance-themed project on Thursday (05.09.19).
The former Fifth Harmony star – who is dating Canadian pop hunk Shawn Mendes – has been dropping teasers for her new music on social media, firstly with a video titled ‘What Do I Know About Love?’.
In the YouTube clip, the ‘Havana’ hitmaker explains that she wants her “life to be a work of art” and her “songwriting to be the camera that I take a picture of it with”.
She says: “I’ve learned a lot about love in my 20s, but not enough to maintain any control in the face of its power.
“And for every new thing I learned, there was something else I couldn’t understand.
“I thought I was making art before.
“Writing songs was me making art but now I want my life to be a work of art, and my songwriting to be the camera that I take a picture of it with.”
The pop star then shared a video of her with a golden bra on with a heart keyhole, which when unlocked, turns into a mechanical box, like the children’s toy Polly Pocket, with a purple heart and princess castle inside.
A message is then shown, which reads: “Welcome to the world of Romance.
“You are cordially invited to experience the first installment on September 5, 2019. Truly surrender to the drama. Courtesy of Camila Cabello. (sic)”
The new music will follow Camila and Shawn’s steamy duet ‘Señorita’.
Meanwhile, ‘In My Blood’ hitmaker Shawn recently insisted he won’t talk about his relationship without consulting his girlfriend first.
The 21-year-old singer was asked at a recent concert if his thoughts on love had changed since romancing Camila, but he played coy about their romance, saying he doesn’t want to get too personal without checking if she is comfortable with the publicity of their love life.
Speaking as he chatted to fans after his concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, he said: “Honestly, I want to talk to you guys about this stuff, because it’s not just me in the relationship, you know? There’s another person involved, and I can’t say things that I feel … It’s not just me deciding, you know?”
Shawn and Camila, 22, were first romantically linked in June, but have yet to speak in detail to confirm their rumoured relationship.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo lost her “f***ing mind” when Beyonce and Jay-Z watched her from side of stage.
The ‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker couldn’t believe it when her idol and her husband came to see her performance at Made in America Festival in Philadelphia on Sunday (01.09.19).
Alongside pictures of the high-profile duo enjoying her set, Lizzo wrote on Instagram: “Swipe to lose your f***ing mind.”
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker previously admitted that whilst it’s a compliment to be compared to the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker, she thinks that takes away their own brilliance.
She tweeted: “Spoiler alert: it’s because Beyoncé is already Beyoncé.
“There will never be a next Beyoncé. And I’ve worked too hard to be Lizzo to just become somebody else.”
Quizzed on her comment in an interview, Lizzo explained: “First of all, do (compare me to Beyoncé).
“I mean, if you’re gonna compare me to Beyonce that’s great.
“I think human beings need to relate things to each other.
“We need reference or else … If I see something like, ‘What does it taste like?’ If I’m eating duck, they’ll be like, ‘Tastes like chicken.’ Ok.”
The ‘Jerome’ singer added that she has “worked so hard to be Lizzo” to be called “the next Beyonce”.
She said: “I reject those statements because my whole entire career is about individuality and it is about me, like, being me.
“So, how can I be me if I’m the next Beyoncé?
“I’ve worked so hard to be Lizzo. It’s almost unfair to take Lizzo away from me and put someone else’s name on me.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Tempo’ rapper recently revealed Rihanna slid into her DMs to congratulate her for her performance at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker praised Lizzo after she performed a medley of ‘Truth Hurts’ and ‘Good As Hell’ at the annual music ceremony last week.
She said: “Listen, we need a video of Rihanna in the studio, period. I am not going to bother her, ’cause I know what that feels like, so I am going to let her do what she ought to do. I love Rihanna. She DM’ed me to tell me that I performed good. She said I f***ed the stage like it was my side b***h. Don’t get mad, Rihanna. I am not trying to blow up your spot, but that was a hard a** line! I might take that line.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ABBA are closer than ever before since coming together to record their new songs.
The ‘Dancing Queen’ hitmakers surprised fans last April, when they announced they had been in the studio for the first time since in 37 years and were set to release new tracks ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’ – their first new music since 1982.
Band member Bjorn Ulvaeus says seeing his bandmates – Agnetha Faltskog, Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad – at work again, only “strengthens and solidifies” their “bond”.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: “Coming together like that, for me at least, strengthens and solidifies and confirms our bond.
“And especially when the ladies went into the studio and stood by their mics and started singing, then, oh, it’s that sound — the ­quality of the two ladies when they sing.”
The ‘Waterloo’ group went their separate ways in 1982 at the height of their career, and during their final years Bjorn, 74, divorced bandmate Agnetha, 69, whilst Benny, 72, and Frida, 73, split up, too.
Bjorn admitted that their reunion is proof of “two former married couples getting along very well”.
However, he insisted that he still believes they would have disbanded whether they were still in couples or not.
He said: “We could never have just gone on with ABBA having one hit every five years or so. No! It was never in the cards.”
The Swedish superstars – who shot to fame after winning ‘The Eurovision Song Contest’ in 1974 – will be giving fans the chance to see their biggest hits and new songs performed on their digital tour by computer-generated ‘Abbatars’, but Bjorn has said
the much-delayed new music won’t be released until 2020 now, due to the complex technical nature of the show they are creating.
Speaking about Agnetha and Frida’s involvement, he said: “They are very much involved and they think this is great. They love it. Technically it is very advanced and complicated.”
ABBA were one of the most commercially successful acts in pop music, topping the charts worldwide, but Bjorn previously admitted “you never know” when you are onto a hit.
He said: “The thing is you never know. I mean in our heyday we kind of knew the next single would be played and so forth, but we never knew if it was going to reach number one, if people would like it. It’s easy to forget that there is a before, and in the ‘before’ you don’t know. You take a risk and that’s what I still do.”
ABBA’s music went on to feature in two blockbuster musical movies, 2008’s ‘Mamma! Mia’ and last year’s ‘ Mamma! Mia: Here We Go Again’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean Paul is set to play the 2019 KISS Haunted House Party.
The ‘Temperature’ hitmaker will be joined by rap duo Young T & Bugsey at the Halloween extravaganza at London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley on October 25.
He said: “I always love doing shows in London and I heard that KISS Haunted House Party is always a great vibe, so I’m looking forward to smashing it! “Wembley better be ready!
“I’ve got all the KISSTORY anthems and of course my new tune ‘When It Comes To You’.”
Liam Payne and Rita Ora were joined by the likes of Clean Bandit, Stefflon Don and Jess Glynne at last year’s event.
Rita was the talking point of the concert as she transformed into rapper Post Malone.
The ‘Anywhere’ hitmaker shocked her fans when she dressed up as the ‘Wow’ hitmaker but she later claimed her transformation didn’t require much effort.
Shown a picture of herself as Post, she said: “That’s literally me with no make-up, all that happened was they drew some face tattoos and I put a wig on and had no make-up touch ups, so that’s scarily what I look like in real life.”
Despite her dramatic transformation, the 28-year-old singer was stunned when the audience didn’t recognise her.
She said: “I literally did a concert and they didn’t clap because they were like ‘Who is this weird human being on stage?’
“I had to talk in the mic and still they didn’t believe me and then I had to sing and they were like ‘OK, we believe her.’ ”
More acts for this year’s gig will be announced in the coming weeks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has defended herself against allegations of using autotune at her concerts.
The ‘Thank U, Next’ hitmaker hit back at a fan who suggested she wasn’t singing live on her ‘Sweetener World Tour’ and insisted her voice was a “gift” and part of her purpose for being in the world.
She shared a video of herself performing on tour and one follower wrote: “It sounds like autotune and probably not live. I mean you are a great singer and I love your voice and songs but this doesn’t sound live.”
In response, Ariana slammed: “Naw with all due respect, I could do this in your living room for you, fam.
“With no sound mixing or help at all. I could do it on Broadway (and did). I can do it on the shower. In the car. It’s my gift / it’s why I’m here. I sing 30+ songs a night. Every word. It’s my thing. Let me shine like damn.(sic)”
Ariana’s defense came shortly after she cancelled a meet and greet before her show in Antwerp, Belgium, last week after suffering “a handful of panic attacks”.
In an email sent to those who were due to meet Ariana, she wrote: “Hi my loves. Time for some honesty. My anxiety and depression have been at an all time high lately. I have been giving you all i’ve got and trying to push through as hard as I can and mask it. Today has been an extra rough one. After a handful of panic attacks, I feel like the wisest decision would be not to do sound check party or m&g today and preserve my energy for the show. I don’t want to rush through our time together or seem shaky. I like spending actual time with you and I won’t be able to be present or give you the best of me today. Anybody that had m&g or soundcheck will of course be fully reimbursed for this cancellation. i love you all. i’m so sorry. I promise i will give you the best show i can (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce is reportedly set to collaborate with Spanish star Rosalia.
The ‘Halo’ hitmaker is a huge fan of the BBC Music Sound Of 2019 poll runner-up and the pair are said to be planning to enter the studio later this year, in a bid to make “the summer anthem of 2020”.
Beyonce is no stranger to Latin music, having teamed up with Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin on 2017’s ‘Mi Gente’.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s been a while since Beyonce has had a really big hit but she is a huge fan of Rosalia and believes they could really make the summer anthem of 2020.
“She reached out to her recently and they’ve now arranged to go into the studio together later this year.
“Beyonce featured on J Balvin’s ‘Mi Gente’ in 2017 so she knows how popular Latin-inspired music is right now.
“Rosalia has huge relevance and appeal and they are both super excited about what they could do together.”
This year has seen Beyonce release ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album, which was released in July, and her ‘Homecoming: The Live Album’ in April.
The 37-year-old superstar’s last studio album was 2016’s ‘Lemonade’.
Meanwhile, the ‘Drunk in Love’ hitmaker isn’t the only star keen to team up with Rosalia.
Bebe Rexha previously revealed that she sent the 25-year-old singer a song to consider adding her vocals to, but she wanted to be a part of the entire writing process.
The ‘I’m A Mess’ hitmaker said: “Rosalía, I’m obsessed with her, I think she’s a superstar.
“Her and Billie (Eilish).
“I Respect Rosalía a lot because I sent her a song that I wrote and I wanted to sing it to her and she was like, ‘Babe, this is a hit!’, but she wouldn’t cut it, she wants to be in the room and write with me.

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C advised Billie Eilish to ensure she makes room for plenty of “chill” time.
The Spice Girl – who is a huge fan of the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker and attended her concert in London earlier this year – has revealed she made sure to let the 17-year-old pop phenomenon know just how “important” it is to get plenty of rest and not allow herself to become a slave to the music industry.
In an interview with Vice.com, the ‘Viva Forever’ hitmaker said: “I just told her to make sure she got some chill time because it’s very important.
“You are not a robot.”
The 45-year-old star knows all about the pressures of fame, having being catapulted into the limelight alongside her bandmates – Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham – in 1994, whilst becoming an adult.
She added: “In your twenties, you feel like you’re grown-ups, but looking back you’re very vulnerable and there’s a lot of self-doubt.
“There’s a lot of growing and learning as I didn’t know what I wanted to be, and all of a sudden these pressures are being put on you.”
Melanie – who is also known as Sporty Spice in the girl group – released her debut solo album ‘Northern Star’ in 1999, and admitted she felt completely burnt out and was an emotional wreck.
She recalled: “My body finally said enough is enough.
“That was really hard.
“I was crying a lot and I just couldn’t move or get active at all. I thought I was going mad.”
Meanwhile, Billie recently spoke about how meaningful it was to have met the Spice Girls and gotten their advice on navigating fame, and Melanie admitted she was blown away by the teenager’s connection with her “predominantly female audience”.
Heaping praise on the ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer, the ‘I Turn To You’ hitmaker gushed: “I’m a huge fan of Billie.
“I think she’s incredible.
“I was lucky enough to see her perform here at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, which is a relatively small venue for someone with such a following.
“Her music is just off the scales. Her voice is beautiful. I love that she doesn’t give a f**k.
“It was sold out, absolutely packed.
“There were so many girls in there – it was predominantly a female audience – and they sang every word, sang every ad-lib.
“You could barely hear Billie, because they were just doing the whole show.
“And it was so exciting to see a room full of girls going crazy for another girl.
“Historically, we always think of boybands and male artists as having all these teenage girls going crazy for them.
“And I think to see that for another woman was really exciting.
“She’s definitely tapping into something that young women are feeling.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave has described his Hyundai Mercury Prize-shortlisted album ‘Psychodrama’ as “a form of therapy”.
The London rapper is in contention for the prestigious music prize this year for his debut album and revealed the songs are a way of “expressing how you feel” in “the most creative way”.
In a video interview ahead of the ceremony on September 19, Dave said: “‘Psychodrama’ is a form of therapy and it is just expressing how you feel in whatever way is the most creative to you.
“Some people act it out, some people sing it out, people find their own different ways.
“And I think for me, it was just about making a track which in every walk of life just sheds some light on me, the person that I am, the scope of the world around me.”
The ‘Funky Friday’ hitmaker also explained that the bold artwork of Dave’s head on fire with blue flames represents the “chaos, the rage and the fire inside of [him] mixed with sadness and a mellow nature” which he felt whilst creating the acclaimed LP.
He explained: “A friend of mine, a very talented artist Tyler Remikie drew it up, but I guess the thought process behind it was emotions and colours.
“That is something I have been pretty big on in music when I’ve been making it.
“My favourite colour is blue as you can see [points to his blue t-shirt] and imagine.
“But for me it was always what does the colour blue represent?
“What colour does the album sound like?
“Does it feel angry? Is it red? Is it mellow?
“Blue is a colour that represented it.
He added: “The flaming head image was a visual representation as to what was going on in my head a lot of the time when I was making the album.
“That sort of chaos, the rage and the fire inside of me mixed with sadness and a mellow nature came together and made that blue flame.
“Which is, I guess, what goes hand-in-hand when people think of the album. You think of that blue flaming head.”
Dave is up against rockers IDLES and their album ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ and slowthai for his debut studio album ‘Nothing Great About Britain’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rak-Su have reportedly been dropped by their record label.
The 2017 ‘X Factor’ winners – comprised of childhood friends Mustafa Rahimtulla, Ashley Fongho, Jamaal Shurland and Myles Stephenson – were tipped to be the next One Direction by the show’s boss Simon Cowell, but just two years after winning the ITV talent show and two EPs, they are said to have been given the boot by RCA.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s a tough time to be in pop and the buzz for Rak-Su fizzled out fast.
They haven’t delivered the huge chart singles which bosses were convinced they would, despite being so popular on the show.
“The feeling is that their moment has passed and it’s gong to be tough to revive it.
“The boys are determined though and are planning to continue as a band, trying to get a record deal elsewhere.”
The boyband reached number two in The Official UK Chart with ‘Dimelo’ featuring Wyclef Jean, but their self-titled EP, released on Syco last year, and February’s ‘Rome’ didn’t achieve the same success.
In November, the band split from Syco along with Little Mix after the label stopped working with Modest! Management, who manages both acts.
And Ashley admitted it was “frustrating” because they were unable to get their music out.
He explained: “How was it last year? Frustrating, confusing mostly because it affected us putting out music.
“When we came off ‘The X Factor’ there were suddenly a lot of cooks in the kitchen.
“It has taken us a while to get back to where we were before.”
Whilst Myles had insisted that the move to RCA was working out and denied a feud with Simon.
He said: “Since we’ve been on RCA we’ve released the Rome EP, filmed four videos and released ‘Yours Or Mine’, so for us, as long as music is released, we’re happy.”
On the music mogul, he added: “Simon said, ‘I had faith in you guys, I just want what is best for you going forward’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Del Rey will release new album ‘White Hot Forever’ in 2020.
The ‘Doin’ Time’ singer has just dropped her new album ‘Norman F***ing Rockwell’ and the prolific star has already revealed the title of her next full-length project, which she is planning to “surprise” fans with in the next year or so.
She told The Times newspaper: “I’ve already written parts of it.
“It’s called ‘White Hot Forever’.
“I feel like it probably will be a surprise release sometime within the next 12 or 13 months.
“I’m really excited right now. I don’t want to take a break.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Video Games’ hitmaker also discussed the wave of honest artists coming through, like 17-year-old pop phenomenon Billie Eilish, who aren’t afraid to sing about sadness, and admitted she feels she paved the way for modern pop stars who have “a little bit more thoughtfulness” in their lyrics.
She said: “She’s so sweet and very prodigious.
“The culture is catching up to how people really are. People aren’t always cheerful 24/7. They have losses and things they go through things. I like to think I had a part in it, in opening that door for a little bit more . . . thoughtfulness.”
On ‘Norman F***ing Rockwell’, Lana appears to take aim at Kanye West for his support of America’s President Donald Trump and also addresses the mass shootings in the country.
The 34-year-old singer recently admitted she doesn’t want Kanye to respond to her mention of him in ‘The Greatest’.
Lana – who performed at the rapper’s wedding to Kim Kardashian West in 2014 – said about the lyric, “Kanye West is blond and gone”: “Here’s the thing: I don’t want to elicit a response. You never feel better for having written something like that. But Kanye just means so much to us. And by the way, I’m grateful to be in a country where everyone can have their own political views. I’m really not more of a liberal than I am a Republican–I’m in the middle. But it was more like the mood and the vibe around, Yo, this man is the greatest! Really? The greatest? It hurt me. Did I have to say anything? No. But it’s more just a line that represents a lot of things.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno swapped his studio hours on the advice of Damon Albarn and it made him more productive.
The Kasabian star has just launched his solo project The S.L.P. and has revealed he spent time in the studio watching the Blur and Gorillaz star work and he inspired him to change working in the early hours to normal office hours and he hasn’t looked back since.
He told the latest issue of Q magazine: “I always thought my powers came at night between, like, 12 and three.
“But then I met Damon Albarn, I went to see him in the studio – we had a game of table tennis, it was mega – and he was saying that he does nine to six or something.
“I was like, ‘What d’ya mean?’ and he went, ‘No, it’s great!’
“So I thought I’m gonna give that a go.
“Office hours. It was unbelievable with a couple of weeks, I was going, ‘Man, I’ve done more work, got more done, and more finished than ever.”
Serge released his debut solo album on Friday (30.08.19) and he has already started work on the next Kasabian record.
The ‘Fire’ hitmakers have been on an extended break since touring their 2017 LP ‘For Crying Out Loud’ and, although the guitarist used the hiatus to work on ‘The S.L.P.’ , things have gone so well he’s now turned his attention to the group’s seventh studio record.
He said: “It’s really exciting. I’m in an amazing space where if I go into the studio, something’s going to happen. They’re good times because they’re rare – usually it’s an absolute slog.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher says his estranged brother Noel Gallagher is probably “hiding in a cupboard” on the 10th anniversary of Oasis’ split.
The Britpop legends explosively went their separate ways on August 28, 2009, following a backstage bust-up between the bitter siblings, which ended with frontman Liam swinging a guitar at his guitarist brother’s head “like an axe”, moments before they were due on stage at Paris’ Rock en Seine Festival.
Noel, 52, ended up quitting the band – who formed in 1991 – there and then and released a statement which insisted he could no longer work with Liam, 46.
Appearing on Radio X this morning (28.08.19), DJ Chris Moyles reminded Liam what day it was, telling him: “Are you aware that on the 28th of August 2009 your brother walked out of Oasis? It’s 10 years ago today.”
And the ‘Shockwave’ hitmaker – who hasn’t spoke to Noel since and continues to trade blows with the ‘Black Star Dancing’ singer – admitted he still feels “the pain” of the break-up to this day.
He replied: “I know. Shame on him. I wonder where he is in the world. I bet he’s hiding in a cupboard somewhere in a really dark room.
“It’s terrible man. I feel the pain.
“Mate, you can’t believe it? I can’t believe it, mate. All was good in the world back then.
“Ten years ago, all was good in the world, and now it’s all went, you know … But I think we’re doing alright again, so it’s all good in the world.”
Referencing Taylor Swift, he then added: “These things are meant to happen. These things are meant to try us, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, as Taylor Swift says.”
The anniversary of their split comes as Liam is gearing up for the release of his second solo album, ‘Why Me? Why Not.’ – which follows his platinum-selling debut solo effort ‘As You Were’ – and he has admitted that if the ‘Wonderwall’ group had made the record “everyone would be losing their ‘thing'”.
Speaking about the album, which is released on September 20, he said: “Yeah, it’s out the day before my birthday, so about a couple of weeks away, which is going to be good.
“Can’t wait. I like it. It’s a good record. I think if Oasis wrote it or put it out, I think everyone would be losing their, erm, ‘thing’.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker has today (28.08.19) released the music video for his latest single, ‘One Of Us’, which sees him tackle the break-up of the band, family issues and “a potential reconciliation”, as per a press release.
The promo was written by Steve Knight and helmed by Anthony Byrne – the duo behind hit drama ‘Peaky Blinders’ – and the former said it’s turned out to be exactly the story “Liam wanted to tell”.
He said: “It was a pleasure for me to venture into this new world of music video.
“No matter what the form, storytelling is storytelling and I really responded to the story Liam wanted to tell. It has become a creatively fruitful collaboration.”
Images of the Gallagher siblings, along with their eldest brother Paul Gallagher, 53, feature in the black and white music video, which is titled ‘One Of Us: The Ballad of the Blue Eyed Boy’, as Liam reflects on their happier years together.
The sombre promo also sees three actors playing the siblings as kids.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi, Mark Ronson, Elbow and Mahalia have selected album covers to feature in artwork exhibitions at Network Rail stations across the UK for National Album Day.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker, ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ producer and Guy Garvey and co join rising star Mahalia as “album champions” for National Album Day (12.10.19) this year.
In the run up to the big day, the artwork they’ve personally selected will be displayed at Glasgow Central Station on September 10, Manchester Piccadilly from September 19, Birmingham New Street on September 30 and London’s King’s Cross St Pancras from October 9.
Glaswegian Lewis is representing Scotland, Elbow the North, Birmingham-based Mahalia, the Midlands and Mark, London and the South.
They have each selected the six albums that have inspired them from their areas, whilst The Official Charts Company have also compiled the six best-selling albums of each area.
Artists featured in the Network Rail ‘The Sounds Of..’ exhibition include Amy Winehouse, The Streets, Robbie Williams, Black Sabbath, Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Fleetwood Mac, Emeli Sandé, Susan Boyle, Belle & Sebastian, Primal Scream, David Bowie, Take That, Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Dizzee Rascal, Dave, Blur and The Clash – who are reissuing their seminal LP ‘London Calling’ the day before National Album Day.
As part of the celebrations, the “#Don’tSkip” campaign has been launched to encourage music fans to listen to full-length releases in their entirety.
Scottish superstar Lewis, 22 – who released his debut studio album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ in May – said: “Absolutely buzzing to be part of National Album Day! Unreal to have finally released my debut album this year & find out that not everyone hates it!
“On the whole I’m very proud of it, although I won’t lie there’s probably a few stinkers on there, but I’m only human. Hope you don’t hate it but if you do don’t worry, it’s only my life’s work.”
BBC Sounds are the official broadcast partner for National Album Day and in the run up to October 12, there will be a number of events and activities held to celebrate the “love for the album and the craft that goes into making this culturally significant body of work”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Maren Morris leads the 2019 CMA Award nominations with six nods.
The 29-year-old singer has dominated the list of nominations for the annual Country Music Association Awards – which will be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on November 13 – with the chance to walk away with up to six trophies, thanks to the success of her second album ‘Girl’.
Maren is nominated for Album of the Year for ‘Girl’, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for the album’s title track, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year for ‘All My Favourite People’ featuring Brothers Osborne.
Although she tops the bill with the most nominations, Maren won’t be battling it out for the coveted Entertainer of the Year prize, which this year will see Carrie Underwood as the only female nominee, as she takes on the likes of Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton, Keith Urban, and Eric Church.
Carrie’s Entertainer nomination comes as one of three for the star – who is also hosting the event alongside Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton – who will also be hoping to beat Maren to the Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year gongs.
Maren and Carrie will face competition from Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves for Female Vocalist, whilst the likes of Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban will battle it out to be named Male Vocalist of the Year.
Vocal Group of the Year is between Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Midland, Old Dominion, and Zac Brown Band.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher got his “swagger” from ‘Live Forever’.
Although the 52-year-old singer/songwriter is renowned for his self-belief, he admitted that until he wrote ‘Live Forever’, for Oasis’ 1994 album ‘Definitely Maybe’, he wasn’t that confident.
Noel explained: “I have to say I wasn’t that confident until I wrote ‘Live Forever’ – and then I was like ‘f**k these idiots. This is where I get the swagger now.”
Noel also revealed his main plan with ‘Definitely Maybe’ was to knock Phil Collins and Wet Wet Wet out of the charts.
He said: “I wanted to get in the charts and wreck it, stamp Phil Collins out, and Wet Wet Wet, they’ve got to go.”
The album went seven-times platinum in the UK but Noel believes its success was down to chance.
He explained: “It is an amazing thing that I tapped into something by accident. That album in particular is the one, it came from a place of truth.
“I wrote it when I was living in a one-bedroomed apartment that I was renting off the local council. I had one guitar, probably two plectrums…”
And the album kicked off a period of unrivalled creativity from songwriter Noel, who admits he is still surprised by the quality of songs he produced.
Speaking in an excerpt from Alex Niven’s new book ‘Oasis’ Definitely Maybe’, which appears in the Daily Mirror newspaper, Noel said: “Every song that I seemed to write for about two years was amazing. I was so clever at one point even I did not know what I was going about.”
“‘Supersonic’ was written in the studio one night. There was something happening around me as a songwriter and subsequently the timing of it was everything. If it happened five years later it would not have had the impact.”
