OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie Wood is releasing an album dedicated to Chuck Berry.
The Rolling Stones were majorly influenced by the late rock legend and their 1963 debut single was even a cover version of his hit ‘Come On’.
Ronnie might not have joined the ‘Satisfaction’ band as bassist until 1975, but he has long been a fan of Chuck.
Now he’s recorded some of his best songs and even a tribute to the ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ hitmaker for his first solo studio project in nine years, ‘Mad Lad’, which is named after an instrumental originally featured on Chuck’s 1960 LP ‘Rockin’ At The Hops’ and features vocals from Imelda May.
Ronnie told radio station SiriusXM: “I sing most of the songs and I have a friend called Imelda May and she is singing a couple.
“‘Mad Lad’ is an original instrumental song by Chuck. On the album I have done my own Chuck Berry tribute song.
“Then it goes into ‘Mad Lad’. It is a mad instrumental song and it sums me up.”
Chuck – who toured with the Stones – passed away at the age of 90 in March 2017.
Upon hearing the sad news, the band hailed Chuck a “true pioneer of rock and roll” and a said he was a “massive influence on us”.
They said: “The Rolling Stones are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Berry.
“He was a true pioneer of rock & roll and a massive influence on us. Chuck was not only a brilliant guitarist, singer and performer, but most importantly, he was a master craftsman as a songwriter. His songs will live forever.”
Speaking last year, Ronnie, 72, admitted that Chuck would never “tune up” his guitars which he found “annoying”, but praised his “originality”.
And he also recalled how he would always insist on playing his chart-topping cover of Dave Bartholomew’s novelty song ‘Ding-A-Ling’.
He said: “Chuck had his own originality which was so fantastic. But he would never tune up, which was so annoying.
And he kept playing [novelty song] My Ding-A-Ling at live shows. You would go, ‘Chuck, you can’t keep playing that’, and he would say, ‘It was number one for f***’s sake!'”
‘Mad Lad’ is set to be released in October.

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey was warned not to release ‘Nightmare’.
The 24-year-old singer has revealed that she was advised not to release the track, which she previously called an “angry anthem”, as a follow-up to her chart-topping ’11 Minutes’, with boyfriend Yungblud and Travis Barker, but she did because she was determined to be more political.
Halsey told America’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “That’s the problem: I’ll do what I want, knock down everyone in my path who says I shouldn’t, and then when people don’t like it, I’m like, ‘Why?!’
“When I made ‘Nightmare,’ there were people saying, ‘I don’t think this is the move. You just had a number one song and now you’re gonna put out this weird, political song that’s not safe.’ Well, yeah, that’s why I’m gonna do it.”
Halsey – who has just announced that ‘Graveyard’ will be her next single – now wants to highlight female empowerment after she finally stopped seeing other women as competition.
She recently said: “Female rage is a very tight subject for me right now. I spent my whole life being the person who’s like ‘I f**king hate girls, I only want to hang out with boys; girls are so annoying’.
“And now I’m in my 20s and I’m like ‘I love women! They’re awesome!’ Women are so tight, I’m surrounded by amazing women and I love how strong and beautiful and incredible they all are in their own ways. It’s cool to be in my 20s and to have like grown out of that internalised misogyny. I’ve grown comfortable in my own space and in my own skin, so it eliminates that factor of competition for sure.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Marr was honoured with the Pioneer Award at the 2019 AIM Awards.
The Smiths legend was hailed as “off the charts cool” by Chic legend Nile Rodgers, who had pre-recorded a video message to the 55-year-old rocker for the ceremony – which celebrates independent artists and labels – at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday night (03.09.19).
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker – who personally picked Johnny to play at Meltdown festival last month – said: “Hey, this is Nile Rodgers and I’m here to congratulate Johnny Marr.
“There is no one more deserving of this award than you.
“You are off the charts cool, you are so independent minded, music is such a great journey for you.
“I love you and your family, and I love your son – of course, he’s named after me.
“Anyway my brother, big ups to you – peace out.”
In his own speech, the ‘Getting Away With It’ star thanked everyone in the “independent sector”, especially Tony Wilson and Beggars Banquet Records – who supported his solo career from the start.
And he rounded off his speech by declaring himself an “indie musician”, which he said is “good enough” for him.
He said: “As an independent musician, and an independent fan … I’d like to thank everyone.
“Thanks to all you guys working in the independent sector.
“The weird thing that this tiny island continues to do is spread really good independent music across the world.
“I’ll finish by saying I’ve often been asked what kind of music I make – I’m an indie musician and that’s good enough for me.”
Elsewhere, Blondie’s Debbie Harry received the Outstanding Contribution to Music prize and was handed the gong by The Kinks’ Sir Ray Davies.
The ‘You Really Got Me’ hitmaker said of the ‘Heart of Glass’ singer: “Wherever she goes she steals the show. And today her star will shine brighter than ever”.
And the 74-year-old icon quipped: “The reason I’m late is that I’m just so goddamn independent, thank you.”
Rapper Dave and IDLES were the big winners of the night, both scooping two awards each.
Dave’s acclaimed Mercury Prize-shortlisted LP ‘Psychodrama’ won Best Independent Album and his hit song ‘Funky Friday’ featuring Fredo was named Best Independent Track.
Whilst indie stars IDLES, who revealed they are working on album number three, won Best [Difficult] Second Album for ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ and UK Independent Breakthrough.
The band admitted it was “confusing” to win both awards.
They said: “Thank you … very confusing to be winning Breakthrough and [Difficult] Second Album as well.
“It’s taken us a very long time to get here. It’s true, it was that difficult.
“And it’s also weird to be writing this while we’re writing album three today.
“Thank you, thank you very much.”
This year’s AIM Awards also saw ‘Lost Without You’ hitmaker Freya Ridings named the Most Played New Independent Artist, Scottish rocker Gerry Cinnamon was crowned Best Live Act, Jade Bird won International Breakthrough and Hot Chip were handed the Innovator Award for ‘Hungry Child’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Natasha Bedingfield has claimed Kylie Minogue and Cheryl have “little bidding wars” over songs.
The ‘These Words’ hitmaker and Australia pop princess were listed as co-writers on Cheryl’s 2018 comeback single ‘Love Made Me Do It’, along with her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts, and Natasha has revealed the pair often end up having the same group of songwriters writing for them.
On how the song came about, Natasha told OfficialCharts.com: “I was writing with The Invisible Men – I love them.
“I think it started as a song title.
“We were just having fun … there was no purpose. “We just wanted to write a really good pop song. It just kind of came together and we didn’t talk about who it would be for.”
The ‘Unwritten’ hitmaker admitted she “wouldn’t imagine Kylie and Cheryl being in the same room together”, but claimed they often get offered the same songs.
She added: “A lot of times Kylie and Cheryl seem to have the same songwriters, and often have little bidding wars over songs so I’ve heard.
“That’s not what happened with this one, but. Kylie changed some words, she’s not big on writing. She’s like 10%. But then it was just better. And then they used that for the Cheryl version.”
Meanwhile, Natasha recently returned with her first album in nine years, ‘Roll With Me’, which saw her team up with multi-platinum-selling producer Linda Perry, who is best known for writing and producing Christina Aguilera’s mega-hit ‘Beautiful’.
On why she wanted to work with Natasha, Linda explained: “I wanted to work with Natasha because she is one of the best live performers I have ever seen and has one of the most versatile voices I have ever heard. It was important to both of us to capture the true spirit of who Natasha Bedingfield is and we nailed it!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert’s new single ‘Superpower’ is dedicated to those who feel “discriminated against”.
The ‘American Idol’ alumni and Queen singer has released the opening track from the first side of his two-part project ‘Velvet’ and revealed the meaning behind his “proud rebellion” song.
In a FaceTime interview on ‘Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp’, Adam told Roman, Vick Hope and Sonny Jay: “There’s a lot of crazy stuff going on in the world right now.
“I feel like there’s a lot of groups of people that get discriminated against or get ostracised.
“I kind of wanted to make a song to make people in that situation feel like they didn’t have to take it.”
On one line, Adam belts out: “All of the witches and the demons better get out my way.”
The ‘For Your Entertainment’ singer has also teamed up with director Millicent Hailes – who has worked on music promos for the likes of Migos, Young Thug and Lil Yachty – for the striking music video filmed on the streets of Brooklyn.
‘Superpower’ follows the singles ‘Comin In Hot’, ‘Feel Something’ and ‘New Eyes’.
Meanwhile, Adam previously admitted ‘Velvet’ is “partially” inspired by him being “frustrated’ with chart music.
The 37-year-old pop star became fed up with the songs in the top 40 all sounding the same and so he started listening to alternative bands such as Tame Impala and The Black Keys, and late music legend Prince.
Speaking about the album’s lead single ‘New Eyes’ and the rest of the record’s influences, Adam said: “There’s a little bit of Prince and there’s a blues thing going on.
“This song and the rest of the album is influenced partially by that, and partially by me seeing and playing the Top 40 game over the last 10 years and getting a little bit frustrated how everything starts to sound the same. So much of the industry tends to follow and copy.
“I started listening to a lot more alternative music. “They might not be huge giant hits, but it’s still widely regarded as great music and great bands.”
He added: “It’s not necessarily about one song but about them as a group or artist and the big picture and their influence as an artist.
“Bands like Tame Impala or The Black Keys … they’ve had their moments with songs but they’re known for creating a [certain] style of music that’s in their own lane, and they’ve influenced a lot of other artists, including me.”
‘VELVET: Side A’ is released on September 27.

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion has teased that she has enough material for her “next four albums”.
The Canadian music icon is set to release her 12th English-language LP ‘Courage’ in November, and she has revealed she has been overwhelmed with submissions from various songwriters and has got her management team working out a plan for releasing as many tracks as possible.
Speaking to ET Canada, the ‘Because You Loved Me’ hitmaker said: “I have never had so many songs presented to me to record, that I’m pretty much all set for the next four albums.
“I don’t know how we’re gonna manage all of it!
“But thank God I have some management here who are gonna figure all of that out because my part is to sing the songs as best as I can.”
Celine, 51, admitted she is keen to get plenty of new music released to show her fans her “new approach”.
She added: “I wanna give them as many songs as they wanna hear.
“I wanna give them some new songs as well to show them that this is the new approach.”
The ‘Power Of Love’ singer previously revealed she had 48 songs to narrow down to 12 for her upcoming album.
And she also teased that ‘Courage’ will be “very fun” and “very different” to her other work and feels she’s “opened her wings” on the new record.
She said: “The album sounds very fun, very different and I did try new things. It’s still me but I have opened my wings to embrace new writers and producers.
“Just to be open to different sounds. I’m not doing like an AC DC heavy metal, but there’s different flavours.”
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker is also set to embark on the ‘Courage World Tour’ this month, and recently admitted she would have a “breakdown” if she looked at her all the dates.
Celine – who has son René-Charles, 18, and eight-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy with her late husband René Angélil- confessed that the global run “would not happen” if she acknowledged how long it would take as she fears she’d miss her children too much.
She said: “When I go on a tour you cannot look at all the dates because you’ll have a breakdown and the tour will not happen. My heart won’t go on. ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Shears has “come to terms” with the fact you only get “one heyday”.
The Scissor Sisters frontman has admitted it was “heartbreaking” making “peace” with the fact that no matter how successful you are, there will always be one part of your career that you are remembered for the most.
The 40-year-old singer was asked whether he felt any pressure to match the success of the Grammy-winning group with his self-titled debut solo album, which he released last year, and he admitted: “I think there’d be trepidation if I didn’t know it was really good.
“But you do have to come to terms with the fact that you only have one heyday. Elton’s actually the one who said that. No matter who you are, you have to make your peace with that.
“It was the most devastating, heartbreaking thing back then.”
The ‘Comfortably Numb’ hitmaker has been touring with pal Kylie Minogue and has a headline show coming up in London at Camden’s Electric Ballroom on September 20.
Jake is happy to sing songs from their back catalogue as he feels like they are “his songs”, but some he says would be impossible to perform without bandmate Ana Matronic.
He told The Times newspaper: “There are certain ones that I’d feel I could never do without Ana, but a lot of them feel like my songs.”
However, a reunion seems unlikely as Jake has admitted he and Ana don’t speak to one another anymore.
He said: “I wouldn’t say we locked horns — there was definitely always a magical sort of alchemy, and a kind of performative tension on stage.
“But I’m super proud of her. I miss her a lot.”
Though Jake has insisted he is focused on his solo career, he did tease the possibility of marking the 10th anniversary of their debut album in 2020.
‘Night Work’ reached number two in the Official UK Chart, and the singer would love to get back together with his bandmates – Ana, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real – to mark the occasion.
The ‘Take Your Mamma’ hitmaker said they could release an album featuring songs that were scrapped when they were making the record, which he feels are worth seeing the light of day.
He said: “I would really love to do a Night Work 10th anniversary record (in 2020). There is also an entire record that we just scrapped and there are some amazing songs.
“I would love to put that stuff out in the next couple of years. It is a lot of fun and the fans will love it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Derulo wants to release his new music in “doses”.
The ‘Tip-Toe’ hitmaker has a huge back catalogue of music ready to release but he is giving it to fans in smaller doses because he wants them to be able to “hear” the songs and listen to each one individually.
He said: “I’m excited because the plan is to release a ton of new music. It’s been way too long. I’m about to release a whole bunch of new s**t … It’s all done – we’re going to drop it out of the sky and I really can’t wait.
“We’re releasing a seven-track EP and then another one shortly after. I want to do it in doses so people will hear the songs. I still think it’s nice to give people a body of work; I’m a touring artist and I like forming a concept on the tour which comes from the album title.”
The 29-year-old singer admits a lot of “politics” have got in the way of releasing new music but he is excited for the new chapter now.
He added: “I make music all the time. To me, it feels like I haven’t been putting enough out lately. I’ve had a lot of great songs just sitting on my hard drive for a while now, which feels a bit pointless, so I’m going to release it now. Sometimes a lot of politics can get in the way of releasing. The last few singles – ‘Swalla’, ‘Tip-Toe’, ‘If I’m Lucky’ – they won’t go on the next project. Those songs have had their time. Even though putting them on an album would make it go platinum in two seconds, it’s not about the numbers. These are brand new songs, brand new vibes.”
And Jason loves producing “genre-less” music.
He shared to OfficialCharts.com: “I’m just a fan of music in general. When I first started writing it I didn’t know what genres were. I still see myself that way. I’m very genre-less in how I write music. I actually have a country record of my own coming out. Actually death metal is one of the few things I’m not into. Not really into the the screamo. Everything else, I’m good with.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorja Smith has had a go at writing a Bond theme.
The ‘Blue Lights’ singer has revealed she penned a “pretend” soundtrack based on the blockbuster spy thriller franchise, but she would actually love to write the official one.
She told The Official Big Top 40: “That’s a dream.
“Yeah I’d love to write a Bond song. I really do.
“I kind of wrote one, like a pretend one, but I do really want to write one, I’d love to.
“I like writing cinematic things. Things for films.
“I always imagine movies in my head sometimes when I’m writing songs.”
Ed Sheeran previously revealed he’s written a song “just in case” he’s asked and his manager, Stuart Camp, recently said he asks him “every day” about making it happen.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker is still “open” to landing the job for Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007 in ‘No Time To Die’ next year, but Stuart claimed producer Barbra Broccoli, who was “interested” in him for the gig, and her team don’t hold discussions for the theme song until much later on.
He said: “We met [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli when we played Dublin [in 2017] and they were interested.
“Danny Boyle was attached to the film after that, who made ‘Yesterday’ [which featured Sheeran], so there was a close connection there.
“Obviously they changed directors but we’re still open to it, but they’re not even having those conversations yet.”
The Grumpy Old Management owner also denied claims that the 28-year-old pop superstar is Daniel’s “favourite act” and that’s it’s already a done and dusted deal, but said it’s definitely something Ed wants to tick off his bucket list.
He continued: “Ed asks me [about it] every day. “And I say, ‘The thing they do last is the music’.
“Those [stories] that said he’s Daniel Craig’s favourite act and it’s all happening aren’t true.
“It’s certainly something he’d want to do though, it’s a box that’s still to be ticked, for sure.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno wants Kasabian to continue forever.
The 38-year-old musician is taking a break from bandmates Tom Meighan, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews to release his own solo album ‘The SLP’ but he hopes to reunite with the band and continue playing into their seventies like The Rolling Stones.
He told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “I think so. As long as it was worth it.
“For me, and for the rest of the boys there has to be a reason. If it was just to sell T-shirts or because one of us needed a conservatory or something, then it’s a no, it’s not for me.
“Ideas are what keep me going, if I’ve not made something in a day I feel like I’ve done nothing.”
And Serge insisted his bandmates are supportive of his solo career.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “It’s probably testament to why we’re still together that they didn’t mind. Tom understands that you need to explore what else is out there. Otherwise you become the band everyone expects you to be.”
Serge also spoke about how he believes Kasabian were wrongly classified as lad rockers when they actually had a number of different musical influences.
He said: “On our first record I would wanna sit people down and go, ‘No, no, no – this is where we were fishing for that stuff, Can and Neu! or whoever. But whatever we said, [people] would just ask us about the Happy Mondays. I soon saw it was best to just keep your mouth shut, because if you’re still able to make albums and art, who cares where it comes from anyway?
“But at the same time, we did grow up where, if you wanted to be in a band, you had to have your wits about you. If you’re playing in a village pub in Leicester in front of a load of lads that would throw darts at your head for having long hair, you can either go in and be all art school, or you can snap a snooker cue in half and say, ‘Let’s go!’ But then I still wanted to get them in the corner and talk about Jodorowsky afterwards.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Spice Girls are planning to meet up with Victoria Beckham to discuss playing Glastonbury.
Mel B – who is known as Scary Spice in the girl band – claimed she and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Honer (Ginger Spice) and Mel C (Sporty Spice) are going to catch up with Posh Spice on Wednesday (04.09.19) to talk about their plans to perform at Worthy Farm, after Mel revealed the fashion designer is keen to play the iconic festival.
Speaking at her ‘A Brutally Honest Evening with Mel B’ book show at The Savoy Theatre in London on Sunday (01.09.19), Mel said: “I think if you are just going to do Glastonbury then let’s just go on tour and do the rest of Europe.”
She also confirmed Victoria, who opted out of their ‘Spice World’ reunion tour this year, is also part of their upcoming animated film.
She spilled: “We are definitely signed on board to do that. All five of us, yes.”
Mel, 44, praised her bandmate for her successful career in fashion but admitted that “you can’t beat being Posh Spice”.
She told fans at the show: “Victoria is Victoria. She’s made an amazing career based on the Spice Girls.
“She’s got a fashion empire and she’s done amazingly well.
“But you can’t beat being Posh Spice in the Spice Girls, can you? You can’t beat that.”
Scary first spilled that Victoria was keen for Glastonbury to Mo Gilligan on ‘The Lateish Show’ in July.
She said: “Funnily enough, my mum was at her mum’s summer party and Victoria was there, and she did actually mention to my mum that she’d love to do Glastonbury for their 50th next year.
“It’s not just me saying it, she actually did say that to my mum.”
The ‘Stop’ hitmaker are keen to reunite again as soon as possible and Mel previously cited Glastonbury as the perfect place.
She said: “You know what, it just happens to be Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary next year.
“I think that’d be a really good thing to do.
“And the girls are going to kill me for saying it but I don’t care. we owe it to our fans and ourselves. We are gonna do more and I don’t care what anyone says.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Nas X wants to record “at least 70 songs” so he has plenty to choose from for his debut album.
The 20-year-old rapper shot to fame after his country trap hit ‘Old Town Road’ went viral on video-sharing platform TikTok earlier this year, and he has revealed his first record, which is only “two per cent” complete, will be very “personal” and varied.
He told Angie Martinez on Power 105: “With this [project], I wanna have at least 70 songs to choose from.”
Although he said it will be “more personal”, he also promised it will be “slapping”.
It’s likely he’ll open about about his sexuality on the album, after he came out as gay during Pride Month in June this year.
The ‘Rodeo’ rapper recently admitted he believes the universe was sending him signs to push him toward opening up about his sexuality.
Nas – whose real name is Montero Hill said being thrust into the spotlight made him realise it was time to come out.
He said: “I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe. In June, I’m seeing Pride flags everywhere and seeing couples holding hands – little stuff like that.”
Nas first alluded to his sexuality when he asked fans to listen to his song ‘C7osure (You Like)’, and noted the rainbow on his album cover.
Then in July, he tweeted: “wow man last year I was sleeping on my sisters floor, had no money, struggling to get plays on my music, suffering from daily headaches, now i’m gay. (sic)”
Nas admitted he is still at the “first stage of figuring out” what he wants to do in his music career and he has no idea what songs he’ll be recording in 10 years’ time.
Referencing lyrics from ‘C7osure’, he said: “This is what I gotta do / Can’t be regretting when I’m old. That’s my philosophy right now. Do everything you can because [snap!] … it could all go in a second.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora, David Guetta and Adam Lambert are among the artists set to perform at the Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness.
The special benefit has been organised by the Tim Bergling Foundation – which was setup following the Swedish DJ’s tragic passing in April last year at the age of 28 – to raise awareness of suicide and put an end to the stigma surrounding mental illness.
The concert at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 5, will see some of Avicii’s music played live for the first time ever, which was always the ‘Wake Me Up’ hitmaker’s “dream”.
The ‘SOS’ hitmaker’s father, Klas Bergling, said: “Tim had plans for his music to be performed together with a large live band, and now we are realising his dream and giving fans a chance to experience his music in this unique way.
“We are grateful that his friends, producers, artists and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help. “They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation.
“We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation’s work going forward … We want this concert to help put the topic on the agenda and pay attention to the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. “Policies and tools are needed to detect the risks and prevent suicide, especially among young people.”
Rita teamed up with Avicii on the hit song ‘Lonely Together’ in 2017, whilst Adam featured on 2013’s ‘Lay Me Down’ from the late star’s debut studio album ‘True’.
Special guest performers will include 19 of the singers featured on his tracks and DJ sets from Avicii’s peers; including Guetta, Kygo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke and Nicky Romero.
The singers will also perform with an epic 30-piece live band.
All profits made from ticket sales will go to charities and organisations supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
More artists are set to be announced.
In June, Avicii’s family posthumously released his final album, ‘TIM’, and proceeds from the record went to the foundation.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Chaplin is “grateful” for his drug addiction.
The Keane singer has spent 10 years undergoing “pretty heavy” psychoanalysis and thinks it has made him a better person, while he and his bandmates are more “supportive” towards one another since their recent reunion.
He said: “We are kinder to each other, more aware and more supportive now. In so many ways I’m grateful for my addiction because it’s made me understand myself, good and bad.”
Tom’s “wake-up call” came when he relapsed after the group split in 2014, leaving his wife Natalie – the mother of his five-year-old daughter – terrified he’d die.
He told Event magazine: “That was my wake-up call. I left the band, decided to do a solo album and had a baby all at the same time as taking as many drugs as possible. And then you have to work out why you behaved like that. I needed hardcore analysis and it’s helped me change.
“As a kid I had issues with confidence, and my way of dealing with it was drugs. I went to university to study art history when I was 18 and discovered that if I took a load of drugs I didn’t feel so insecure. I basically spent a year just taking drugs and then dropped out, came back home and Tim asked me to be in his band. People had no clue I was like that.”
The group’s comeback album, ‘Cause And Effect’, is inspired by keyboardist Tim Rice-Oxley’s marriage breakdown and Tom praised his friend for his honesty.
He said: “Tim wrote this album out of a really painful time in his life. But that again is honest. We are putting ourselves out there. It’s all we can do.”
The ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ writer hit rock bottom when he was arrested in 2015 after being found in a ditch when he’d crashed his car while drunk.
Tim recalled: “There I was, hung over in a police cell and I felt I’d just lost everything. I was pretty proud of the boxes I’d ticked over the past ten years – four No 1 albums, lovely wife, house in the country, kids. But I’d made a classic mistake of thinking the marriage, the children, the house would all just be there for me. I put all the effort into the success of the band and not into my family. And then the band split [in 2014], my marriage ended and I realised that everything that made sense had gone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez has teased she’s “working on” new music.
The 27-year-old singer hasn’t released her own material since last year’s ‘Back to You’, and after taking some time away from the spotlight to work on her mental health, she’s now revealed she’s ready to step back into the studio again, telling fans there’s new music on the way.
Selena took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of a soundboard in a recording studio, and wrote alongside it: “Just so you know, I see your comments and I’m working on it.”
The ‘Wolves’ singer also posted another image of herself flashing a peace sign as she sits next to a keyboard.
Meanwhile, it was previously claimed that her close pal Taylor Swift inspired her to get back in the studio after the recent release of her new album ‘Lover’.
A source said: “She has actually been working on music for her album over the last few years here and there and with the recent release of Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ album, it has really lit a completely new fire in Selena to get some of her music out there. She is actually looking to get stuff out before the end of the year.”
And if things go to plan, the source believes Selena – who recently featured on Benny Blanco’s ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ – should have new music out later this year.
They added: “If all things go as planned we should be hearing at least a new single by the end of the year if not a fully released album. One of the things now to think about is the surprise factor, Selena wants that aspect involved in it as well. But people and fans should get excited because we are going to get something soon.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift was “screaming” after Keith Urban “flawlessly” covered ‘Lover’ live.
The ‘You Need To Calm Down’ hitmaker was blown away with the country legend’s rendition of her hit song from her latest album of the same name, which he performed live at Washington State Fair on Saturday (31.08.19).
Keith, 51, shared a clip of the performance on Instagram the next day.
He captioned the video: “Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you’d written….” the country star captioned “And a HUGE thx to my band as well- we didn’t get to rehearse so…. this is us fully winging it – KU #Lover⁠ ⁠@taylorswift.”
And reacting to the cover on her Instagram Story, Taylor wrote: “Keith Urban covering Lover flawlessly. “I am screaming. This is so beautiful.”
The ‘ME!’ hitmaker was previously the opening act on Keith’s ‘Escape Together World Tour’ in 2009.
The ‘Stupid Boy’ singer isn’t the only famous musician digging the pop hit.
Niall Horan recently hailed ‘Lover’ “a classic”.
The One Direction star took to his Instagram Stories to praise the US pop superstar for the “important” album-titled track.
Alongside a screenshot of the song, he wrote: “This song is a classic and it’s so important for music.”
And the ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker re-posted the message on her own Story, and wrote: “THANK YOU NIALL!! (sic)”
At the weekend, Taylor thanked her fans for the “best week” of her life after her album became the highest-selling record in the US, eclipsing her own 2017 album ‘Reputation’.
In a video message posted on Instagram, Taylor gushed: “I just have to say to you guys, thank you so much for one of the best weeks of my life.
“I can’t thank you enough. Like I couldn’t have imagined it going better or being more fun, and getting to meet so many of you and seeing all the things you were saying about Lover online … I just love you guys, and I’m really, really, really lucky and I know it every single day. Thank you so much.”
